What We Really Miss About The 1950 s Summary
When I read What We Really Miss About the 1950 s , Stephanie Coontz provides many data and
reports to support the positive side and negative sides of the 1950 s. On my first impression, the 1950
s sounded a pretty good era. People just get through the World War II. Many young men came back
home or just build their new home. After so many years, American people can do everything at once
again. However, every coin has two sides. Some heavy things such as racism, woman s rights, and
McCarthyism. I have to ask myself a question Do we really miss those old days? . Or more specific,
why some time we said those old days are good? . I do want to argue which era is the best. I just want
to focus on why sometime people said old days are better and we ... Show more content on

Because they are something then you can not see it or touch it, but it always twinkle and shining in

But does those old days such good? We have better science and technology today; We have countless
goods in our market; We have better medical care and education today. Why we still love those old
days? I think we know the answer. Our feeling about those old days are not just good or better. It look
more like a vision then fraud by our memories. This vision does not mean want . It look more like

Advantages And Disadvantages Of QIP
The graphical representation clearly shows that QIP became very popular when it was introduced in
2006 with the investment of Rs. 4,963 crore by 25 issues. Moreover, when there was an economic dip
in 2008 2009 it was very helpful in gaining financial stability in the market.
5. Conditions
To accomplish a qualified institutions placement by a listed issuer following conditions should be
satisfied
a) Shareholders should pass a special resolution for approval of QIP
b) The equity shares of same class as proposed to be allotted with QIP should be listed on a recognized
stock exchange with nation wide trading for a period of at least one year prior to the date when notice
was issued to the shareholders.
c) It should comply with the required minimum ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
10. Tenure and transferability of eligible securities
The maximum tenure of eligible securities issued by QIP is 60 months from date of allotment. There is
no lock in period if eligible securities are listed on a recognized stock exchange otherwise it cannot be
sold for a period of one year from date of allotment.
11. Advantages of QIP
Minimum Regulations and Procedural requirements
As compared to other placements like IPO and FPO, QIP is less cumbersome. This is because there is
no need to file pre issue document with the capital markets regulator. Approval of SEBI is also not
required. However, it is required to file a placement document with the stock exchanges which
encompasses details of the issue.
Time saving
Minimum regulations and procedural requirements make QIP one of the fastest methods of raising
funds. The best example of this is Power Trading Company (PTC India) who raised QIP issue of Rs.
500 crore subscribed in 4 hours of its opening.
Cost effective
Less procedural requirement and fast process of QIP, makes it less expensive than other methods of
raising capital.

Representation Of Chang E In Chinese Culture
Chang e is thought very highly of in the eyes of the Chinese. They reflect her ways of peace and
gentleness in their culture. They use her image in their culture often. An example would be how they
name their moon launchings after her. In Chinese minds, the moon is associated with gentleness and
brightness, expressing the beautiful yearnings of the Chinese. (Cultural China) The people in China
see Chang e in the same way they see the moon, peaceful, gentle, and bright. She is very important
and brings joy to the Chinese people. This leads me to believe that the tales in which Chang e is
portrayed as a thief are not an accurate representation of her.
The Moon Goddess has a great deal of cultural significance in China. Cultural China tells

Taking a Look at a Whooping Cough
What is Whooping cough?
Whooping cough is a bacterial upper respiratory infection that leads to episodes of violent coughing.
The disease got its name because of the characteristic sound that is made when affected individuals
attempt to inhale; the whoop originates from the inflammation and swelling of the voice box that
vibrates when too much air comes in when one breathes after coughing. (Medline plus) Whooping
cough is a very contagious disease. It spreads through close contact that includes a transferring of oral
secretions or respiratory droplets from one person to another. So it s easily spread through the cough,
especially when people are in close contact, like living in the same house with a person who has
whooping cough. It can also spread through sneezes or anything that causes a secretion of respiratory
fluids. (CDC) the people whom can be affected are children who have not been immunized or people
whose last shot of the immunization was done ten or more years previously. There is evidence that
suggests the first outbreaks I whooping cough occurred in the 16th century. The bacterium that causes
the infection was not found until the beginning of the 1900 s.
Why target whooping cough?
Whooping cough is most commonly found in infants. If a child were to obtain whooping cough within
the first three months of his or her life, the infant is highly likely to be killed by the disease. The
reason for this is because of how difficult it is to identify. It starts out

Essay Of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Williams et al (2014) compared MBCT with both cognitive psychological education, and treatment as
usual, he compared the success rate of the therapy in preventing the relapse of MDD in people
currently in remission phase following at least 3 previous episodes. It was consequently found that
MBCT provided significant protection against the relapse, for participants with increased vulnerability
due to adverse psychological history, but showed no significant advantage in comparison to an active
control treatment and usual care over the whole group of patients with persistently recurring
depression. Coelho et al (2013) provided a detailed outline of the evidence that supports the claim that
MBCT is a recently developed class based program designed to prevent the relapse and recurrence of
Major Depression. . The evidence from the randomized trials reviewed by the authors, suggests that
for patients with 3 or more previous depressive episodes, MBCT has an additive benefit to usual care.
J. R. van Aalderen, et al (2011) examined the efficacy of mindfulness based cognitive therapy
(MBCT) in addition to treatment as usual (TAU) for recurrent depressive patients and found that
MBCT resulted in a comparable reduction of depressive symptoms for patients. Analyses also suggest

Description Of Basques
The Basques are considered to the be oldest ethnic group located in Europe. It is believed that the
Basques had inhabited the southwestern corner of Europe before the Indo Europeans settled in the

Spanish. During the Middle Ages, several parts of the Basque territory were seized by Spaniards,
Gascons, and Catalans. All of the Basque territories was divided between France and Spain by the
year 1876. Today, some Basques still seek independence from Spain and France. The name Basque

The Colombian Reggaeton Singer Who Is From Medellin...
Maluma, the colombian reggaeton singer who is from Medellin Colombia, and Pitbull, the hip hop
reggaeton singer who s from Miami Florida, share some familiar similarities and vast differences in
their background and songs. Both Maluma and Pitbull sing and rap to reggaeton music. With this in
mind, reggaeton originated in Puerto Rico and is considered hip hop and latin american music.
Reggaeton is also sung in spanish. Maluma began his music career in 2010 while Pitbull began in
2001. Uniquely, both singers perform live for their fans and neither of them are retired yet. Although
Maluma started out at a much later period than Pitbull, he still has the same tone as Pitbull does in his
songs. Maluma and Pitbull can each carry out beautiful vocal sounds and harmonize to music
wonderfully. Correspondingly, they are extremely professional singers. For example, Maluma sings
with a lot of low yet powerful vocals while Pitbull sings with medium to high pitched vocals. In
general, the better they sound to their audience, the more they will rise to fame. Another key point is
that they both feature other artists in some of their songs. Maluma and Pitbull can influence people to
learn more about their culture, learn about their musical influence, and learn about their albums and
visit them live in concert to experience an amazing show. Additionally, Pitbull comes from a beautiful
city with a breathtaking view of Miami s beach and Maluma comes from a place of tall buildings and

Social Causes Of Youth Homelessness
On this essay, I am going to write about youth homelessness the causes of this phenomenon in this
country, and why it remains an issue very complex to resolve. There are a number of causes for youth
homelessness but we can divide them into two big groups: Causes derived from social policies such as
lack of funding or cuts to housing benefit; and causes derived from personal circumstances, for
example, a family breakdown.
Both renting and owing a home are challenging options for young people for many reasons including
lack of skills and money; that in some occasions translate not having somewhere to stay. On the social
causes for homelessness we find that one of the biggest issues is the shortage of housing, the
parliament estimates the need for additional housing in England at between 232,000 to 300,000 new
units per year, a level not reached since the late 1970s and two to three times current supply. Even
though this does not only affect young people in my opinion young people are one of the most
disadvantaged because the lack of supply makes housing very expensive and under 25 s get paid less
minimum wage so they can t afford to pay a house deposit. Another important social policy cause is
that since April 2017 young people aged 16 21(with some exemptions) will not be entitled to apply for
housing benefit a move made by the government to prevent young people slipping into a life of
benefits (HM treasury 2015). However, this new policy in my point of view just makes the

Archbishop Oscar Romero
Archbishop Oscar Arnulfo Romero is best known as a martyr of the Salvadorian people. He was a
person who truly embodied what he preached. During his lifetime, he spoke out for the voiceless,
made an effort to change the Salvadorian society during the war and carried out God s message
without thinking twice. Oscar Arnulfo Romero was born on August 15, 1917 in Ciudad Barrios, San
Miguel, in the eastern part of El Salvador (Brockman 30). His father was Santos Romero, a telegraph
operator and his mother was Guadalupe de Jesus (Brockman 30). He grew up in El Salvador, a

Peace is thus the product of justice and love....as long as we see no actions working toward a more just

This quote basically sums ups how he went about making his opinion known. He simply voiced what
he believed and that shows that he has a good emotional state and was motivated obviously by
something he strongly believed in. The most prevalent intelligence type in Romero s life social
intelligence because during the whole biography it is clear to asses that his main focus was helping
those who couldn t help themselves, speaking out for those who couldn t speak up and reaching out to
those looked over. He had a way of understanding and relating to the society he was a part of and this
might be due to the way in which he was raised which was in a very humble, typical style. He could
relate to those who he was reaching out to help. Other types of intelligences he had were emotional
intelligence because he could empathize with the people and also verbal intelligence because he had
an excellent use of words to get his point across as is evident in his homilies and letters. Overall,
Oscar Romero s intelligence played an important role on his self concept and his relationship with
others. Archbishop Oscar Romero s self concept I think is pretty good because he isn t afraid to go

The Main Difficulties With Multi Agency Partnerships
What are the main difficulties with multi agency partnerships in safeguarding children? Discuss with
reference to social science literature and official reports.
Safeguarding children can best be described as an action taken to promote the welfare of children and
protect them from harm, this involves protecting children from abuse and maltreatment and preventing
harm to children s health or development. (NSPCC, 2016).
Multi agency partnerships in safeguarding children look to identify the goals, circumstances and needs
of children, agencies must agree with both the contribution each agency will have Ensuring it meets
the every child matters guidelines, the main aims are to improve the sharing of information between
the agencies and Oversee arrangements for agencies to work collaboratively in the commissioning,
delivery and integration of services. (Cheminais R, 2009:2).
There are many benefits to working within a multi agency partnership, it not only allows for
professional views from different professionals from a variety of different professions but it also
allows for an individual to receive specifically tailored help top overcome their own situations in
regards to health and welfare, However despite the benefits to multi agency partnerships in
safeguarding children there are many difficulties that need to be acknowledged.
This essay will use case studies with reference to social science literature and official reports to further
explain and discuss the difficulties

Dante s Inferno and the Garden of Earthly Delights
The Garden of Earthly Delights painted by Hieronymus Bosch, depicts many vivid fictional scenes in
triptych style. The right wing of the triptych depicts Hell and the causes of man s downfall, which
Dante wrote about in the Inferno. Dante tries to convey to all humanity the consequences of human
actions and the levels of hell that he believes exist for different levels of sins. Dante divides Hell up
into ten different circles, and there is an upper and a lower level of Hell. Dante and Bosch have similar
views on the evil within people and this evil is represented in their works, whether it transpires in a
painting or in a book.

This creature may represent the invisible force that Dante believes is inside a sinner that makes him do
the things he does, whether it be caused by mental or physical suffering. One of the sinners in the
Inferno, an Impersonator, kept craving water. He said, O you who bear no punishment at all (I can t

The Cultural Differences In The Canadian Society During...
There were three main groups that suffered and struggled through many obstacles and a lot of people
setting them back; women, First Nations people, and immigrants and minorities. This prejudice caused
a significant negative impact on the Canadian society during the 1920s. In the roaring twenties, many
people believed that only white men should be treated with any respect because that was the status quo
at the time. The status of women was improving as some women got the right to vote, a woman was
elected a member of parliament, and women were now legally considered persons , but women were
still treated horribly and with little respect or dignity. The First Nations people as a whole were greatly
mistreated because of the federal government and the non first nations, Canadians believed that the
First Nations people would be more content, giving up their religion, heritage, and culture and become
more mainstream Canadian Christian. In addition, immigrants and minorities in Canada during this
time also suffered greatly because of the prejudice against them and the fact that the Canadian
government frowned upon all immigration that was not from another Commonwealth country, a
European country, or did not involve white Americans. First of all when women started to do the same
thing men did that had much of the Canadian population skeptical and afraid that these activities
would make the women more masculine and nobody wanted that to happen. Many spectators attended
the game[New Glasgow women s club defeated the Glacé Bay] out of curiosity to find out if the girls
could keep house and cook well enough to attract a husband (Winnick, 40). Of course Canadian
society mocked women who tried to step out of their comfort zones and try something new that could
change the way people viewed women. Their perception of women as helpless and comparing them to
thieves and minority groups rather than as equally intelligent and capable of the same things as the
white men if not more. The status quo influenced women to stay fit, healthy, and good looking. The
media made women think that the ideal body was thin and that they should be wearing a lot of
makeup, but no one wanted them to be more like men at the time; strong and a

Ideology Of Altered Images
Colter Sternhagen Professor Gilbertson Global Visual Culture 11 February 2016 Ideology of Images
Altered images have found a commonplace in all variations of todays s media. It seems rare anymore
that you find yourself looking at a totally original image presented in mainstream media. This is
because producers and advertisement companies know they can persuade their audience much more
effectively by digitally altering their images. And they have perfected the technique. The phenomenon
is an interesting one, and one that has dramatically affected lives in both good, and bad ways. Two
issues that are concerning in regards to an altered image has to do with one, the integrity of the
original image, and two, with how changing someones facial or body features in order to achieve a

Slightly enhancing skin tone or eye color to boost someone s look is still more than what is needed to
capture a style or product, but is more or less morally acceptable. It becomes an issue when noses are

treatment. These altering s are melodramatic and fool societies eye, therefore make us believe that is
what those people or things actually look like. In turn, many people who consistently watch tv or use
internet are quite susceptible to insecurities of their personal image. They want to look that good, but
it s impossible. It s dead end and dangerous thinking. If the media were too use original images of
people (while still referring to them as beautiful and of good nature) then people in society who are
watching would feel less pressure to look a certain way, and be more concerned with looking the way

The Internet Service Providers Are Not Allowed...
The whole idea of net neutrality is that it allows Americans to be able to access everything. It doesn t
matter the source; internet services providers are not allowed discriminate against specific websites.
The problem that Americans wanted to address was that companies were doing . They specifically
wanted to address how companies were hindering with the websites they could access and what
cannot . Americans did notice and turned to the federal government specifically the Federal
Communications Commission to step in (The FCC is an independent government agency) and resolve
this national issue. They asked the FCC to codify the presumption of network neutrality into actual
regulations to prevent the Internet Service Providers from engaging in preferential or discriminatory

The Findings After Testing Quantized Inertia On The Emdrive
The purpose of this article was to report the findings after testing quantized inertia on the EmDrive.
The authors predicted that the thrust produced by the EmDrive can be explained assuming that the
inertial mass of the photons is caused by unruh radiation. Multiple experiments took place in several
independent labs, and produced results that were similar to the predicted values for thrust. The
computations of the results did not sufficiently model wave oscillations in 3D, thus the authors
recommend further testing in order to produce more accurate findings.
The text is formatted as a journal article and has been peer reviewed. It was published on August 31,
2015, in Europhyiscs Letters, a journal founded in 1986 by the European Physical Society. The article
references multiple sources that are also academically reliable.
This source will be used to introduce one of the current theories attempting to explain how the
EmDrive produces thrust. The article also addresses the lack of scientific explanation which will help
to prove my own credibility in the report as I address a multitude of theories. Because the article was
published recently I will likely introduce this source last.
Standard physics has no explanation for this and an error has not yet been found... There is no
explanation for this behavior in standard physics because it violates the conservation of momentum,
and Shawyer s own attempt to explain it using special relativity is not convincing, as this

The Origin Of The Banshee
Connor Harkins
Jonathan Tyler
English 102 10
1 February 2017
The Banshee The banshee is a phantom that is said to wail whenever a person is about to die. It would
visit a friend or a family member of a Irish person who was dying. People are afraid of them because it
shows us our mortality. We are afraid of death because we do not know what is on the other side, so
naturally we would be afraid of the harbinger of death. The origin of the banshee is intertwined with
death as it is in its spectre form. There are many legends that the banshee came from. It ranges from
women who took alcohol to mourn the death a member of a powerful family to ancient goddesses that
the Christian church turned into a demon. No matter what the origin ... Show more content on

The banshee is said to be a woman that were paid with alcohol to mourn the death of a person. The
family would pay the woman, who was normally and alcoholic, in drinks to cry at the grave a their
deceased loved one to make it seem like they were very respected. The Christian church did not like
this, so came about the story of the banshee. One theory of the banshee is that they are being punished
for their insincere mourning and alcoholism. They haunt a family and not a place unlike many ghosts.
The banshee probably haunts the family out of loyalty to them from their life of mourning for the
family. The origin of the banshee goes farther than that, it has a more supernatural myth to it.
In Irish myth, the banshee is considered a fairy and so the church says that is it a demon wailing that it
is losing souls to heaven. It is said that the banshee comes from the ancient god race known as the
Tuatha De Danann. According to Carolyn White in A History of Irish Fairies, The Tuatha De Danann,
the divine folk descended from the mother goddess Dana or Danu, were gods from Greece (some say,
of the Golden race) who came to Ireland enshrouded by a magical mist which hid the sun and their
appearance for three days and nights... (White 18). This supports the idea of the church that the
banshee is a demon, because it is the descendant of a Pagan goddess. Women are that to be bringers of
life because they give birth to children. So the tale of the banshee being the

Early American Music Research Paper
One aspect of American history that has remained constant is the development of its music. American
music has always been a building block of American history, constantly changing along with the
country. In the beginning of what would soon become our great country, the migration of European
immigrants was a very heavy influence on American culture, lifestyle, and music at the time. In the
beginning stages of the colonization of America, European religious views were very present and, the
birth of early American sacred music was born out of this time of religious exploration. With many
people attempting to convert others, the music they used portrayed often their views and approaches to
these attempts. One of the groups of people doing this were the Shaker community, they had a belief
of shaking off their sins, the music they used in their services represented the belief of that activity.
With very up tempo music and a heavy Dance feel to it, they used this music to encourage the idea of
shaking off their sins and all ungodly things. Not long after the occurrence of the religious revival in
the new American colonies, the composing of American hymns started with William ... Show more

During that era of hardship, many new genres of music were being born, from political broadside
ballads to minstrel songs. At a time when the country was split in two, the music of that time was also
pulled back and forth over the battle line. This was present in the song My Maryland . The original
song was published as the state song for Maryland and in support for the Union, but soon after it was
revised by some Maryland residents who were in support of the Confederate army. They took the
original My Maryland song and altered some of the lyrics to show their views of opposition toward
The Union. This course of action replays repeatedly throughout American history in future genres of

The Berlin Boxing Club By Robert Sharenow
For the last outside reading book, I chose to read The Berlin Boxing Club by Robert Sharenow. The
original reason I chose it was because the author is actually my uncle. Turns out it was a great choice
as I greatly enjoyed reading this novel. The book is from the perspective of Jewish a teenage boy and
his family during the 1930s in Nazi Germany. I gained new perspective on the culture in germany
during world war two through the eyes of a teenager. I would definitely recommend this book to the
history department to be added to the curriculum. The main reason for this recommendation is that
students will be able to learn about the culture in Germany right before World War II from the
perspective of someone their age. This will give students a more entertaining look at the history
around World War II and will make learning about it much easier. I recommend this book specifically
to a freshman or sophomore history class. The protagonist in the story is a teenage boy named Karl
that many freshman and sophomore students could identify with. He goes through many of the same
challenges that many younger teenager go through. He struggles fitting in socially at school and has
girl problems. This novel was very easy to read and did not have too much difficult vocab. The book is
also fast pace, which makes reading it particularly smooth. The students will also be able to really see
what it was like to live in Nazi germany in the 30s from the perspective of someone their age. The

The Importance Of Selfwareness
Q 11: Why is it important to be self aware and use self reflection in relation to your work with clients
and colleagues?
Self awareness helps managers to know management skills, which promotes skill development. But
self awareness also helps them find situations in which they will be most effective, assists with
intuitive decision making, and guide them in stress management and motivation of oneself and others.
(Raj Soin Collage of Business Wright State University, 2017).
Skill development this improves projects that should normally begin with an assessment of the gap
between the current situation and the desired future situation. This will surely have effect on other
workers being it good or bad. (Raj Soin Collage of Business Wright State University, 2017).
Knowing your strengths and weaknesses, being aware of yourself helps exploit your strengths and
cope with your weaknesses. Like looking at the broader picture, but can t pay attention on much on
details. Is good you talk to colleagues and subordinates that are more detail oriented when making
major decisions. (Raj Soin Collage of Business Wright State University, 2017).
Developing intuitive decision making skills in this situation manager access large amount of
unorganised and ambiguous data. It is better to bring on board others since making a decision out of
the data processed will be a bit challenging. Ideas from other people could help in this situation.
Personal decision may result in positive or negative

Land Rights in Australia Essay
This essay is about the land rights of of Australia and how Eddie Marbo was not happy about his land
been taken away from him. In May 1982 Eddie Marbo and four other people of the Murray Islands
began to take action in the high court of Australia and confirming their land rights. Eddie Marbo was a
torres islander who thought that the Australian laws were wrong and who went to fight and try and
change them. He was born in 1936 on Mer which is known as Murray Island. The British Crown in
the form of the colony of Queensland became of the sovereign of the islands when they were annexed
in1978. They claimed continued enjoyment of there land rights and that had not been validly
extinguished by the sovereign. (Australian Bureau of Statistics ... Show more content on

Marbo did not just give up on this and he kept on trying to get his land rights and get other rights for
indigenous people of Australia.
There was a lot of significant things that happened in the Marbo decision. Marbo changed a lot of the
rights for the Australian indigenous people. He got the land rights and human rights back for them. It
still wasn t easer for Mabo to win his rights though because they wanted to mine his land and make
money out of it. In the year 1993 Federal Pavement had passed the Native Title act which had
established legal framework for the native claims through out the country. Unfortunately Eddie Marbo
was not around to see his victory. He had died of cancer and he was fifty five years old. It was just
before the high courts decision. There were two of the five Murray Island plaintiffs were alive by the
time when the ruling was handed down. The third anniversary was held at Eddies grave. Eddie Marbo
s body went back to the Murray Islands were he lived most of his life.
(Patrick Hatch,2013)
When the decision went through the indigenous people had there rights they could stand on. They
could have there own rights to have there land and have there rights to live and have the right
treatment in this world. It was not fair how the governments also ripped the children away from there
families as well. The Marbo decision was a very significant and a very important moment in

U.s. Dollar, China s Central Bank
In order to contend with the US Dollar, China s central bank has devalued the Yuan nearly 2% in
August 2015.This bank policy was seemed to be a wave to the Chinese market, even the economic
market all around the world, which brought a series of fluctuation and impact to the economy. Why
china took this monetary action to face with the problem from the US dollar (What are the factors)?
What is the (Positive or negative) influence will be aroused in the short term by this Chinese Yuan
depreciation? What will be happen if this devaluation last in the further and what will be affected by
this monetary policy in the long term? The following text will answer and analyse these three
questions.

So it is easy to conclude that china s economic markets are sluggish and weak, for these reasons,
China should adopt this monetary strategy to deal with these series of problems, and keeping the
healthy and steady growth in economic markets. On the other hand, China wanted to increase the
monetary (Yuan) liquidity, further, wanted Yuan to become international reserve currency. Broadly
speaking, China hoped to consolidate its central position in the global economic markets. In
conclusion, pulling the healthy and steady growth internally and pushing Chinese monetary (Yuan)
circulate in the international economic market, externally are the two key factors drove China to
devalue Yuan.
In the short term, this depreciation action will bring varying degree of positive and negative impact in
China and Global world. In the aspect of positive impact, Chinese aggregate demand will go up
considerably in the short run. Aggregate demand is the total level of spending in the economy and
consists of four elements: consumer spending (C), private investment (I), government expenditure on
goods and services (G) and expenditure on exports (X) less expenditure on imports (M), Thus
AD=C+I+G+X M. (Sloman, Wride and Garratt, 2015). According to the Diagram 1
(Tradingeconomics.com, 2015), It is obvious to find that after July, 2015, China s export expenditure
increased significantly, especially in August when China secondly devalued Yuan,

The Myth Of Abercrombie And Fitch
In the following I explore how myth has been used to position Abercrombie and Fitch clothing in the
market.
Abercrombie Fitch is a popular teen brand. It uses the same brand experience in every store across the
western world. Each store, no matter where has the same style, the same sound and the same smell.
The myth about the lean, white, and rich ideal coming from the American society is distributed in the
same way in every country. Hence, I am not only focusing on the myth that has been used to position
the brand in Germany, but how myth has been used to position A F in every market they sell their
products in.
A F has a clearly defined target customer: the good looking, classic and cool teenagers. The image
they produce with the brand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beside the shirtless men at the entrance of every store, the faded black/white images of almost naked
teens developed to a trademark for Abercrombie and Fitch. Although the text is nearly blocked and
covered, consumers would undoubtedly be able to identify this image as one of A Fs.
Even though it is difficult to see a relationship among the images, there is a clear relationship between
the product and sexuality.
Abercrombie is a clothing brand and in its adverts and their brand communication the models are
essentially naked but trying to sell clothes. However, A F sells much more than clothes, it is trying to
sell its image and a lifestyle. Using their brand communication they want a sexual image to be
connected with their name.
A Fs in store experience is the crucial way of advertising for the company. Through the store layout
and decoration A F capitalized on their target market s value of exclusivity and youthful spirit.
Personifying the lifestyle of the company and reinforcing it through action and dress is the core driver
of the in store experience. Salespersons were employed based on their ability to embody the brand.
Their selling ability is

Confederate Flag
The Confederate Flag on School Grounds
Just like teaching any other topic in the Twenty First century, the topic of teaching The Confederate
Flag is controversial. Some people believe that you should not teach something with a negative
connotation attached to it. However others, including me, believe that teachers need to teach the
events that took place years prior, no matter the connotation.
In an insert in Huffington Post writer Krystie Yandoli talks about the recent trip she took to South
Carolina. In this trip, she has seen The Confederate Flag being hung all around. Yandoli writes, I ve
heard arguments time and again about how the Confederate flag is no longer representative of
slavery...But I m really over the whole respect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Confederate Flag should be hung in the back of his classroom because he teaches about slavery
and the Civil War, so it is crucial in his teaching. However, I would think differently if Mr.
Schermerhorn was an English or science teacher because then the Confederate Flag would not be
beneficial in his teaching. Brakkton Booker quoted Jim Webb stating, The Confederate battle flag was
a battle flag; it assumed a lot of unfortunate racist and divisionist overtones during the civil rights
era.... He added that it was important, though, to remember the very complicated decision a young
person being called to duty during the Civil War era had to make. Jim Webb is validating that it is
good for students to know what occurred in the history of our country. However, if there was ever any
discussion about Mr. Schermerhorn supporting and teaching why a student should support slavery,
then there should be a concern. There is a major difference between hanging and supporting the
Confederate Flag.
Students everywhere should not be restricted from learning because of the connotation of a subject or
teaching device. Students should be able to rightfully learn and be taught what has occurred in our
history. This being said, there are concerns for teachers if they start to share their belief and support a
controversial subject, or if they are hanging

Solving Ethical Dilemmas Essay
An ethical dilemma is defined as a complex situation that will often involve an apparent mental
conflict between moral imperatives in which to obey one would result in transgressing another . When
individuals are faced with an ethical question, we tend to search for a correct answer when
responding. However, these types of questions do not always seem to have a straightforward answer.
The arguments which may arise from an ethical dilemma question are typically examined in two
ways: whether people are being consistent in their judgment and whether the alleged facts on which
those judgments are based are truth. In this essay, the ethical dilemma being presented is as followed:
A man cheats on his wife early in their marriage. Twenty years ... Show more content on

Furthermore, it is most similar to what Aristotle would resolve because neither extreme the marriage
completely ending or the man continuing to keep the secret is being chosen. Instead, a balance
between the two extremes has been found. This balance would be the couple receiving counseling and
the man being relieved of his guilt. Philosopher Spinoza s ethics are slightly different from those of
Aristotle. Much like the stoics individuals who believed that destructive emotions resulted from errors
in judgment, and that a sage person of moral and intellectual perfection, would not suffer such
emotions Spinoza believed all things are logically determined. To clarify further, since each man s
particular essence is directly tied to his fate the time and place of his existence ethical standards
cannot be absolute. Rather, they are relative to the individual s mind and body or his/her culture. In
addition to those, Spinoza thought that happiness comes from understanding limits and accepting a
determined fate within a universal scheme. Spinoza s philosophies are similar to the modern beliefs
held by many societies today. Based on Spinoza s viewpoint of ethic relativity, his answer to the above
moral dilemma would be that the men not tell his wife. The infidelity occurred twenty years before,
which means the man s values towards the importance of marriage and honesty were almost non

Since the inception of the National Health Service (NHS) in 1948, regular six monthly check ups at
the general dental practice have been common (REF). However the patient should not have

should only be taken after a thorough clinical examination and would be justified after a caries risk
assessment was undertaken with the patient categorised as being high, moderate or low caries risk

In the event that after a thorough clinical examination and an updated medical history, the patient is
categorised as being high caries risk, FGDP guidelines support the taking of bitewing radiographs in
both children and adults at the initial examination. Six monthly bitewing radiographs are advised for
individuals who fall into the high caries risk status until no new or active lesions become apparent
(REF). However it is important not to take radiographs frequently and to reassess the patients risk
category, supported by a clinical examination and an updated medical history in order to justify using
this interval again (REF).

phonemic awareness skills the area that every student needed to work on was phoneme segmentation
or phoneme deletion. Since I was working with a very small class size and a very limited time frame, I

How The Three Witches Prophecies Affect Macbeth
Macbeth by Shakespeare is powerful play about the good and evil in every individual. In Macbeth the

started to over power the good will in himself and he began to do many things to make him king. (The
prophecies not only raised his ambition but also increased his confidence and greed.) The

What We Really Miss About The 1950 s Summary When I read What We Really Miss About the 1950 s , Stephanie Coontz provides many data and reports to support the positive side and negative sides of the 1950 s. On my first impression, the 1950 s sounded a pretty good era. People just get through the World War II. Many young men came back home or just build their new home. After so many years, American people can do everything at once again. However, every coin has two sides. Some heavy things such as racism, woman s rights, and McCarthyism. I have to ask myself a question Do we really miss those old days? . Or more specific, why some time we said those old days are good? . I do want to argue which era is the best. I just want to focus on why sometime people said old days are better and we ... It just marks a good mark in our memory forever. But does those old days such good? We have better science and technology today; We have countless goods in our market; We have better medical care and education today. Why we still love those old days? I think we know the answer. Our feeling about those old days are not just good or better. It look more like a vision then fraud by our memories. This vision does not mean want . It look more like someday you meet your first crush, you won t fall in love with her or him anymore, but you want just talk to her or him. When you meet her or him after so many years, you get a special feeling. This feeling bring you back in time. In the real world you two are having some insignificant chatter. In your memory you sitting at the old school playground. A smiling girl stand in the warm sunlight. She has a bright eyes and long neck. You speak to her with confidence and composure. She looks up into your eyes. Your cheerful mood such as the leaver on the trees, sing with the wind in spring. • 4. Representation Of Chang E In Chinese Culture Chang e is thought very highly of in the eyes of the Chinese. They reflect her ways of peace and gentleness in their culture. They use her image in their culture often. An example would be how they name their moon launchings after her. In Chinese minds, the moon is associated with gentleness and brightness, expressing the beautiful yearnings of the Chinese. (Cultural China) The people in China see Chang e in the same way they see the moon, peaceful, gentle, and bright. She is very important and brings joy to the Chinese people. This leads me to believe that the tales in which Chang e is portrayed as a thief are not an accurate representation of her. The Moon Goddess has a great deal of cultural significance in China. • 5. Taking a Look at a Whooping Cough What is Whooping cough? Whooping cough is a bacterial upper respiratory infection that leads to episodes of violent coughing. The disease got its name because of the characteristic sound that is made when affected individuals attempt to inhale; the whoop originates from the inflammation and swelling of the voice box that vibrates when too much air comes in when one breathes after coughing. • 6. Essay Of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Williams et al (2014) compared MBCT with both cognitive psychological education, and treatment as usual, he compared the success rate of the therapy in preventing the relapse of MDD in people currently in remission phase following at least 3 previous episodes. It was consequently found that MBCT provided significant protection against the relapse, for participants with increased vulnerability due to adverse psychological history, but showed no significant advantage in comparison to an active control treatment and usual care over the whole group of patients with persistently recurring depression. Coelho et al (2013) provided a detailed outline of the evidence that supports the claim that MBCT is a recently developed class based program designed to prevent the relapse and recurrence of Major Depression. . The evidence from the randomized trials reviewed by the authors, suggests that for patients with 3 or more previous depressive episodes, MBCT has an additive benefit to usual care. J. R. van Aalderen, et al (2011) examined the efficacy of mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT) in addition to treatment as usual (TAU) for recurrent depressive patients and found that MBCT resulted in a comparable reduction of depressive symptoms for patients. • 11. The Colombian Reggaeton Singer Who Is From Medellin... Maluma, the colombian reggaeton singer who is from Medellin Colombia, and Pitbull, the hip hop reggaeton singer who s from Miami Florida, share some familiar similarities and vast differences in their background and songs. Both Maluma and Pitbull sing and rap to reggaeton music. With this in mind, reggaeton originated in Puerto Rico and is considered hip hop and latin american music. Reggaeton is also sung in spanish. Maluma began his music career in 2010 while Pitbull began in 2001. Uniquely, both singers perform live for their fans and neither of them are retired yet. Although Maluma started out at a much later period than Pitbull, he still has the same tone as Pitbull does in his songs. Maluma and Pitbull can each carry out beautiful vocal sounds and harmonize to music wonderfully. Correspondingly, they are extremely professional singers. For example, Maluma sings with a lot of low yet powerful vocals while Pitbull sings with medium to high pitched vocals. In general, the better they sound to their audience, the more they will rise to fame. Another key point is that they both feature other artists in some of their songs. Maluma and Pitbull can influence people to learn more about their culture, learn about their musical influence, and learn about their albums and visit them live in concert to experience an amazing show. Additionally, Pitbull comes from a beautiful city with a breathtaking view of Miami s beach and Maluma comes from a place of tall buildings and artwork ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Social Causes Of Youth Homelessness On this essay, I am going to write about youth homelessness the causes of this phenomenon in this country, and why it remains an issue very complex to resolve. There are a number of causes for youth homelessness but we can divide them into two big groups: Causes derived from social policies such as lack of funding or cuts to housing benefit; and causes derived from personal circumstances, for example, a family breakdown. Both renting and owing a home are challenging options for young people for many reasons including lack of skills and money; that in some occasions translate not having somewhere to stay. On the social causes for homelessness we find that one of the biggest issues is the shortage of housing, the parliament estimates the need for additional housing in England at between 232,000 to 300,000 new units per year, a level not reached since the late 1970s and two to three times current supply. Even though this does not only affect young people in my opinion young people are one of the most disadvantaged because the lack of supply makes housing very expensive and under 25 s get paid less minimum wage so they can t afford to pay a house deposit. Another important social policy cause is that since April 2017 young people aged 16 21(with some exemptions) will not be entitled to apply for housing benefit a move made by the government to prevent young people slipping into a life of benefits (HM treasury 2015). However, this new policy in my point of view just makes the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During his lifetime, he spoke out for the voiceless, made an effort to change the Salvadorian society during the war and carried out God s message without thinking twice. • 19. The Cultural Differences In The Canadian Society During... There were three main groups that suffered and struggled through many obstacles and a lot of people setting them back; women, First Nations people, and immigrants and minorities. This prejudice caused a significant negative impact on the Canadian society during the 1920s. In the roaring twenties, many people believed that only white men should be treated with any respect because that was the status quo at the time. The status of women was improving as some women got the right to vote, a woman was elected a member of parliament, and women were now legally considered persons , but women were still treated horribly and with little respect or dignity. The First Nations people as a whole were greatly mistreated because of the federal government and the non first nations, Canadians believed that the First Nations people would be more content, giving up their religion, heritage, and culture and become more mainstream Canadian Christian. In addition, immigrants and minorities in Canada during this time also suffered greatly because of the prejudice against them and the fact that the Canadian government frowned upon all immigration that was not from another Commonwealth country, a European country, or did not involve white Americans. First of all when women started to do the same thing men did that had much of the Canadian population skeptical and afraid that these activities would make the women more masculine and nobody wanted that to happen. Many spectators attended the game[New Glasgow women s club defeated the Glacé Bay] out of curiosity to find out if the girls could keep house and cook well enough to attract a husband (Winnick, 40). Of course Canadian society mocked women who tried to step out of their comfort zones and try something new that could change the way people viewed women. Their perception of women as helpless and comparing them to thieves and minority groups rather than as equally intelligent and capable of the same things as the white men if not more. The status quo influenced women to stay fit, healthy, and good looking. The media made women think that the ideal body was thin and that they should be wearing a lot of makeup, but no one wanted them to be more like men at the time; strong and a ... It seems rare anymore that you find yourself looking at a totally original image presented in mainstream media. This is because producers and advertisement companies know they can persuade their audience much more effectively by digitally altering their images. And they have perfected the technique. The phenomenon is an interesting one, and one that has dramatically affected lives in both good, and bad ways. It doesn t matter the source; internet services providers are not allowed discriminate against specific websites. The problem that Americans wanted to address was that companies were doing . They specifically wanted to address how companies were hindering with the websites they could access and what cannot . Americans did notice and turned to the federal government specifically the Federal Communications Commission to step in (The FCC is an independent government agency) and resolve this national issue. They asked the FCC to codify the presumption of network neutrality into actual regulations to prevent the Internet Service Providers from engaging in preferential or discriminatory treatment for financial gain or just because they felt like it (Public Knowledge). In other words, Americans wanted to stop ISP s to stop hindering with the content they access for financial gain , they needed a gatekeeper to prevent ISP s from doing this and in so the FCC created the Open Internet Order in 2010. • 23. The Findings After Testing Quantized Inertia On The Emdrive The purpose of this article was to report the findings after testing quantized inertia on the EmDrive. The authors predicted that the thrust produced by the EmDrive can be explained assuming that the inertial mass of the photons is caused by unruh radiation. Multiple experiments took place in several independent labs, and produced results that were similar to the predicted values for thrust. The computations of the results did not sufficiently model wave oscillations in 3D, thus the authors recommend further testing in order to produce more accurate findings. It would visit a friend or a family member of a Irish person who was dying. People are afraid of them because it shows us our mortality. We are afraid of death because we do not know what is on the other side, so naturally we would be afraid of the harbinger of death. The origin of the banshee is intertwined with death as it is in its spectre form. There are many legends that the banshee came from. The family would pay the woman, who was normally and alcoholic, in drinks to cry at the grave a their deceased loved one to make it seem like they were very respected. The Christian church did not like this, so came about the story of the banshee. One theory of the banshee is that they are being punished for their insincere mourning and alcoholism. They haunt a family and not a place unlike many ghosts. The banshee probably haunts the family out of loyalty to them from their life of mourning for the family. The origin of the banshee goes farther than that, it has a more supernatural myth to it. In Irish myth, the banshee is considered a fairy and so the church says that is it a demon wailing that it is losing souls to heaven. It is said that the banshee comes from the ancient god race known as the Tuatha De Danann. According to Carolyn White in A History of Irish Fairies, The Tuatha De Danann, the divine folk descended from the mother goddess Dana or Danu, were gods from Greece (some say, of the Golden race) who came to Ireland enshrouded by a magical mist which hid the sun and their appearance for three days and nights... • 25. Early American Music Research Paper One aspect of American history that has remained constant is the development of its music. American music has always been a building block of American history, constantly changing along with the country. In the beginning of what would soon become our great country, the migration of European immigrants was a very heavy influence on American culture, lifestyle, and music at the time. In the beginning stages of the colonization of America, European religious views were very present and, the birth of early American sacred music was born out of this time of religious exploration. With many people attempting to convert others, the music they used portrayed often their views and approaches to these attempts. One of the groups of people doing this were the Shaker community, they had a belief of shaking off their sins, the music they used in their services represented the belief of that activity. The book is from the perspective of Jewish a teenage boy and his family during the 1930s in Nazi Germany. I gained new perspective on the culture in germany during world war two through the eyes of a teenager. I would definitely recommend this book to the history department to be added to the curriculum. The main reason for this recommendation is that students will be able to learn about the culture in Germany right before World War II from the perspective of someone their age. This will give students a more entertaining look at the history around World War II and will make learning about it much easier. I recommend this book specifically to a freshman or sophomore history class. The protagonist in the story is a teenage boy named Karl that many freshman and sophomore students could identify with. He goes through many of the same challenges that many younger teenager go through. He struggles fitting in socially at school and has girl problems. This novel was very easy to read and did not have too much difficult vocab. The book is also fast pace, which makes reading it particularly smooth. When individuals are faced with an ethical question, we tend to search for a correct answer when responding. However, these types of questions do not always seem to have a straightforward answer. The arguments which may arise from an ethical dilemma question are typically examined in two ways: whether people are being consistent in their judgment and whether the alleged facts on which those judgments are based are truth. Philosopher Spinoza s ethics are slightly different from those of Aristotle. Much like the stoics individuals who believed that destructive emotions resulted from errors in judgment, and that a sage person of moral and intellectual perfection, would not suffer such emotions Spinoza believed all things are logically determined. To clarify further, since each man s particular essence is directly tied to his fate the time and place of his existence ethical standards cannot be absolute.
