Different Interpretations Of Religion Essay
Nearly everyone has some conception of religion. In fact, sometimes it appears that there are as many
definitions of it as there are people (Schmidt 9). Not only does each person have his or her own way of
defining religion; each person has his or her own way of practicing religion. Studying these different
practices can be difficult. There have been many people who have studied religion and through many
different methods. While some people share similar findings, each person has his or her own
interpretation of religion.
Michael Malloy found three major patterns in his studies of religion. These patterns can be seen in
many religions, especially Hinduism. The first pattern Malloy describes is the way each religion
contacts the sacred. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hindu s Brahman is an example of sacred reality. They believe Brahman is everywhere and in
everything. The True Self is the Brahman that is found in every person. The Self...It is indestructible,
for it is never destroyed. It is not for the love of the husband that a husband is dearly loved. Rather it is
for the love of the self that the husband is dearly loved (Burke 20,21). Hindus look for the True Self in
every person. Because Brahaman is found everywhere, liberation can be found everywhere.
Hinduism s view of morality includes the Law of Karma. This is an impersonal law that regulates
morality throughout time. To reward the good and punish the wicked (Burke 22). The Law of Karma
plays a role in Hindu s view of time. They believe that people are born and reborn during this cycle of
samsara and the class, high or low, that a person is reborn into is determined by the Law of Karma.
Karma exists constantly because to the Hindus time is on going. Life is an endless cycle that can only
be escaped by the knowledge of Brahman.
The third pattern is the role of male and female, and how each sex plays a role in the religion. In
Hinduism there are male and female gods and they both play a significant role in the beliefs of
Classical Hinduism. The god Shiva is the god of destruction, who destroys ignorance and gives
Hindus mystical knowledge. Kali is the wife of Shiva, the goddess of time. She is the great mother
who creates life only

How Flexibility Is An Essential Thing
From Atkinson s research in 1984 we can understand that flexibility is an essential thing is this
competitive business world. So in order to cope up with the situation, companies need to explicitly
imply all three types of flexibilities and treat flexibility as an essential thing rather than an additional
option. In the flexible firm model denoted by Atkinson, there are two peripheries (core and
secondary). `Therefore, it can be presumed that the inner core periphery of highly skilled employees
bounded by secondary periphery of non standard workers who could be called back for short term
agreements.

It will talk about the difficulties that the migrant workers i.e. migrant nurses in UK are facing
problems in times of adaptation and induction programs along with racism and discriminations
because of cultural and language differences.
Insourcing and Migrant Workers
Companies insource human resources when they cannot find the right person within their own
organization. Insourcing could be done on national or international basis. In the context of UK
employing nurses, they tend to do international recruitment. The reason NHS organisations are
interested to recruit international nurses is because they could be hired quickly compared to local
nurses who need three years to enter the market (RNC updated). As the employers are getting more of
International Recruited Nurses (IRN) in UK, a series of concerns are coming up regarding the
experienced that these migrant nurses are facing.
Adaptation and Induction
Due to insourcing of IRN, the international human resource management (IHRM) will have to go
beyond the regular HRM practices focus on the depth of the problems that these migrant nurses are
facing. As the nurses are coming into UK for the jobs, they need to go through the adaptation and
induction programs where these IRN s had mixed reviews. As many of them gave a positive feed
back, a lot of them were dissatisfied about not

The Witch s Hammer Summary
The Witch s Hammer, or The Malleus Maleficarum, was first published in 1487 in Germany. In
German language it is called the Hexenhammer. It served as a guidebook for Inquisitors during
Inquisition. With the help of this book they were able to identify and prosecute the Witches. It was
written by the Dominican monks Heinrich Kramer and presumably also James Sprenger, who
assembled many fairy tales and magic stories, nightmares, hearsay, confessions and accusations and
put this all together as factual information. It is still not completelly confirmed, that Sprenger was
actually one of the authors.

the Malleus Maleficarum as false.
The book has three sections the first one is theoreticall, discussing the question of whether witchcraft
is real or imaginary. It concludes, that it is real, because Devil is real. Witches have an essential link
with the Devil, which allow them the power to perform harmful magical acts. In section two, matters
of practice and actual cases are discussed. It covers also remedies to prevent witchcraft and how to

Meaning Of Medieval Feudals
Medieval Vassals
Medieval Vassals (Intro)
During the medieval period, kings ruled large areas of land. In order to protect these lands from
invasion, the king would give portions of their lands to the local lords which were called the Vassals.
They governed the lands granted to them by the king and promised to defend it against conquerors.
Medieval Vassals Definition
Medieval vassals was believed to have been derived from the Latin word vassallus and the Roman
word vassus, which means servant. However, it was also said to have originated from the Celtic and
Welsh term gwas which means a young male feudal tenant.
In the feudal system, Medieval Vassals by definition were people granted the use of a King s land in
return for their services, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The term vassal originally emerged during the medieval era of the middle ages as the feudal system
was established in England in 1066 after the rest of the country was claimed by William, The
Conqueror.
Medieval Vassals History
The first vassals during the medieval period came from England and were appointed right after the
Norman Conquest. When William the Conqueror invaded the country, all estates that belonged to
England were declared as his property. And to give honor to the Normal soldiers who fought with him
during the conquest, he awarded majority of the lands to them.
After William gained control, the Norman soldier who became and were declared Lords of these lands
began to rule with him. Noble men became Lords and lower military officers became vassals. The idea
of awarding the lands to the Lords basically was to assist the new ruler in protecting the kingdom from
invasion as each Lord was in charged of protecting his own land.
The Medieval Vassals Land
The medieval vassal lands varied in size. The average size of these land, known as fief, were as small
as 1200 acres and as big as 1800 acres. Most of the feudal lands consisted of farm and cultural lands.
Meanwhile, the vassals either lived in castles of the lords or they owned their own

Scientific Revolution. This revolution often is associated with various scientific and technological
changes made during this time. However, the Scientific Revolution was also about changes in the way
Europeans looked at themselves and their world.
A revolution in medicine began in the 16th century. During this time Andreas Vesalius and William

In Germany many of the women who were involved in science were astronomers. These women had

May, 20h, 2015 High Frequency Trading Like Taking Candy From a Baby
Investing in the securities market seems like a good idea until one day you ve lost all your money and
you re hitting your head against the wall wondering where you went wrong while High Frequency
Trading firms are racking up profits by shorting the stocks you thought were going to go up. The
contention behind High Frequency Trading arises from the idea that since the individuals and
companies who have access to these supercomputers that compute complex algorithms are able to
receive information on the markets before the average investor , they are playing the field and making
it uneven. The idea behind High Frequency Trading addresses many of the essential Human Rights
course questions such as morality, one s responsibilities and duties to another, civil action, and the
human condition itself. High Frequency Trading should be eliminated from the financial markets
because it is unfair to the average investor, causes legal implications by shifting the market to the
advantage of certain firms, and lacks regulation necessary to promote an even playing field for all
investors.
Since the very beginning of High Frequency Trading, the contention of its use has been deemed unfair
to the average investor in the securities market. An example of an instance in which the ethics of High
Frequency trading can be questioned is Trillium Capital. This company engages

Personal Statement Of Purpose For A Career In Journalism
I always knew I wanted to be in Journalism. Growing, up in Cameroon, I had little knowledge of how
the media worked or what being a journalist even entailed. I had a passion for telling stories, and zero
experience or hope that I would someday be able to do so in a way that effects positive change. As far
as I knew, journalism was the ruling government s tool for communicating what it deemed fit for
public knowledge, and stifling any information that remotely threatened the political status quo. It
wasn t until I moved to the United States with my family in 2010 that I fully understood the power of
Media. My educational/professional career since then, has invigorated my love for the media arts.
I studied Public Relations and Journalism at Prince Georges Community College from Fall of 2010. I
learned about the power of free speech and free media. I gained respect for the First Amendment. It
amazed me that here in the United States, anyone could share their opinion, no matter how unpopular
and yet be protected by their rights as citizens. This was new and fascinating considering the
restrictive nature of press in my home country.
Two years and an Associate s degree later, I transferred to Phillip Merrill College of Journalism
(University of Maryland College Park) to study broadcasting. There, I learned the tricks of the
journalism trade; how to shoot, write, produce, and report news. I took TV/radio broadcasting classes,
and studied media law and media ethics. The more I

3.4. Distribution of micromolecules in pretreated bio oil
Micromolecules in bio oil, and pretreated bio oil were identified from the GC/MS analysis and
classified based on their chemical structure and functional groups. Their relative amounts are
presented in Table 4. Total amounts of micromolecules were reduced after the pretreatment, despite
the high yield of liquid product. Therefore, it might be due to the dilution with ethanol. Also, the
distribution also strikingly changed during this reaction. Almost of acetic acid, and levoglucosan,
which are known as decline bio oil stability and properties, were changed into the ester form with
ethanol, such as acetic acid ethyl ester, and levulinic acid ethyl ester. The compound like 2,2 diethoxy
ethanol was only identified in the pretreated bio oil, so it might be resulted from the reaction of
ethanol itself. Since amberlyst 36 also has a capacity to phenol purification, total micromolecular
phenols decreased from 38.1 to 13.4 17.2. Generally, almost of phenols reduced during the reaction,
alkylated phenols like cresol, 2,4 dimethyl phenol, or 4 ethyl phenol were strikingly decreased.
Therefore, it was suggested that phenol ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mongol techniques focused on pace and flexibility. If a city promptly surrendered, they were tolerant,

Compare And Contrast Essay On Tuner Cars Vs Muscle Cars
Tuner Cars vs Muscle Cars
People in search of a powerful and compact car often decide between a muscle car and tuner. These
vehicles are in many ways, quite similar on the surface. However, there are a number of factors that
separate tuner cars from muscle cars, and it s important for anyone considering these cars to know full
well how these vehicles are different and similar to each other. Muscle cars have been around since the
1950s. They have two primary design goals, and these goals have been relatively consistent for the
entire production of this kind of vehicle. The first of these is to be as powerful as possible. Muscle
cars have long utilized the most powerful and largest engines available for standard vehicles. The first

These cars are most often imported from Asian countries. They are designed to be especially high
performance versions of standard vehicles. Therefore, tuner cars are often smaller and more
lightweight than muscle cars, making it much easier to take hard turns and with some upgrades, go
faster than the dominant muscle cars with almost half the horsepower. Just because tuner cars have
smaller engines than muscle cars doesn t mean they can t be as fast as muscle cars, but faster. Being
lighter is what wins a race, the less you weigh the faster you can go in a shorter distance. One of the
most important characteristics of a tuner car is to be relatively easy to adjust. The tuner part category
of vehicles refers to the process of tuning and adjusting a car to meet the owner s specifications. Tuner
cars are designed to provide a solid foundation for a vehicle that can later be adjusted and modified in
any number of different ways. Some of these ways include the addition of supercharged or

Examples Of Metaphors In The White Tiger
Research Question: How does Aravind Adiga use metaphors in The White Tiger to highlight the
contrast between the different sections of Indian society?
Introduction:
Typically, we identify metaphors to be the figure of speech that draws an indirect comparison to bring
out an enhanced rhetoric effect. However, metaphors are so strongly ingrained in our language, that all
of us think, write, and even speak in metaphors every day. Ironically, the word metaphor itself is a
metaphor, as metaphor stems from a Greek word that means transfer or carry across . In the literal
sense, metaphors transfer meaning from one idea to another, typically associating it with a word.

Treaty Of Versailles Easy Assignment
Treaty of Versailles Easy Assignment
Ultimately, the international community and The Treaty of Versailles played an exponential roll in the
onset of WW2 by putting too harsh of conditions on Germany. The Treaty of Versailles forced
Germany to take complete blame for WWI, practically abolished the German Military, ruined the
German economy, caused the loss of land, and caused countless other damages to the country. Thus
upsetting and angering the German people. As the war came to an end, the state of Germany was
malignant and in collapse. A revolution was spreading among Germany in the 1918 s 1919. This
revolution was inspired somewhat by the Russian revolution of 1917. On June 28th 1919 the treaty of
Versailles was signed and in August of 1919 the revolution came to an end replacing the imperial
German government with a Republic. This treaty should over all take the primary responsibility for
World War II. This treaty set the stage for many of Hitler s main arguments. Hitler ensured the
German people that he would take back the land they had lost, improve the German economy,
strengthen the German military, etc. etc. All of Hitler s arguments made possible by the treaty
Versailles. I am certainly not acknowledging and / or accepting the fact that The Treaty of Versailles
caused Hitler s wrath. However, it would be incredibly ignorant not to acknowledge the fact that this
treaty significantly helped Hitler s rise to power by setting the stage for Adolf Hitler s arguments.

consequence of imperialism, the new belief system and education that Christianity brought with it
changed the lives of the people of Africa and brought about a cultural shift that is present in post

The novel notes that The Church had come and led many astray (Achebe p.174). The many stemmed
from all levels of hierarchy within the Igbo society. For example one of the converts included
Ogbuefi... who had taken two titles... (Achebe p.176) which was very significant because of the level
of importance that titles were regarded with within the Igbo society. One of the largest pieces of
evidence from the novel comes from Obierika who describes the manner in which the cultural shift
occurred. He says, He came... with his religion... allowed him to stay detailing the manner in which
the missionaries came. The acculturation becomes apparent when Obrierika says ...he won our
brothers, and our clan can no longer act like one (Achebe p.176). This demonstrates the instability of
the Igbo society as a result of the introduction and further influence of the Christian faith and its
teachings. The Church s followers being members of the Igbo people as well made it difficult for the
Igbo people to fight back, thus debilitating the clan s ability to function as a unit. The end result being
the complete acculturation of the Christian faith leading to postcolonial times in which the Igbo
culture like many of the other cultures existing at the time have been phased out due to the cultural
shift.

The Double Helix Report
In The Double Helix by J.D. Watson he tells the story as to how he and Francis Crick discovered the
structure of DNA. After reading this book I was able to see how the structure of DNA was discovered
since I didn t really have a lot of knowledge as to who discovered DNA besides what the biology book
briefly talked about. During this time there was not a lot of people interested in DNA but for the
people that were it was almost like a race to see who could discovered it first. Through the book one
of their most fierce competition would have to be Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin. Thanks to
their research Watson and Crick were able to discover the structure of DNA first. Even though

Watson and Crick were able to work great as a team because they both had something to contribute to
the discovery of DNA. Crick did a lot of the mathematical work and was normally found in the lab
first before Watson. On the other hand Watson did a lot of the research, he would often go to different
conferences to hear any new discoveries concerning DNA in order to stay on top of their game. After
each conference Watson would report his findings to Crick and use that in their advantage. This is one
of the things that made them extremely successful were as Rosalind and Maurice would share their
ideas and accepted any criticisms and opinion. For example we are able to see how much Watson
values Francis opinions when he says Another fifteen minutes fiddling by Francis failed to find
anything wrong, though for brief intervals my stomach felt uneasy when i saw him frowning. In each
case he became satisfied and moved on to verify that interatomic contact was reasonable (pg 406). In
this statement we are able to see how Francis frowning shows that they relied in each other for support
and approval. Watson and Crick also shared their findings with other scientist because they knew that
they would need the input of skilled chemist and biologist to help them in the process of the discovery

Nordstrom: Dissension in the Ranks?
(1) What problems does Nordstrom s evaluation/compensation system have? Think about this question
while considering the objectives of the company s evaluation/compensation system, what measures it
took, and what happened as a result. A. Nordstrom was renowned for its superior customer service that
was the result of the exceptional customer service efforts (or heroics ) put by their salespeople. So in
order to retain their competitive advantage of superior customer service in the highly competitive
retailing market, they designed a evaluation/compensation system that had the following objectives:
(1) To support its high service strategy, and (2) To motivate its sales employees. They tried to evaluate

They would also avoid helping their associates to keep them from getting the good SPH ratios. This
created a culture of cutthroat competition. (2) Poor differentiation of Selling and Non Selling time
There was a lack of clear differentiation of Selling and Non Selling time. Employees were not clear
about recording time spent in activities such as hand deliveries, merchandise preparation, sales
promotion and customer correspondence, etc. as Selling or Non Selling time. If they recorded it as
Non Selling work time, they were entitled to the guaranteed base wage with no effect in their SPH.
However, if they recorded it as Selling work time, their SPH would be low. The evidence of this
ambiguity in defining the Selling and Non Selling time is presented by the fact that the Nordstrom
family had to issue the Internal Memo Differentiating Selling vs. Non Selling Time amidst the labor
disputes crisis in mid 1989. (3) No evaluation/compensation service/satisfaction of work time related

There was no evaluation/compensation of work time related to activities for improving customer
service/satisfaction such as home deliveries, calling up valued customers

Mengzi s Arguments On Moral Principles
Moral principles generally shape a person s character. Such principles ultimately influence the way a
person makes decisions, and may become the foundation that people pattern their lives after. However,
in Chinese philosophy there exists a difference of opinion of moral principles. One by the name of
Mozi advocates impartiality and condems partiality. He expresses that everyone should benefit
everyone equally. Although this may seem benevolent, the very idea is impractical. Mozi s point of
view is rather progressive and future driven, due to the fact equal treatment for everyone has never
happened historically and quite frankly, may not ever happen. In correspondence, Mengzi indicates

Unfortunately, every human contains a sense of partiality within their character by nature; whether
they are deemed partial or impartial in character. Humans are the most selfish species alive due to the
fact that every decision is ultimately made for oneself; whether it appears to be for others or not. Due
to further circumstances, consequences or just by one s innate impulses, humans ultimately make
decisions in light of such elements. However, that doesn t mean that great harm can t arise from such
decisions, nor does such a trait categorize someone as partial due to the fact that one places
preferential treatment towards oneself. For those that hate and steal may possibly commit such actions

May people will fear change if they do not understand the importance and reason for the changes or

Gifted Education In Public Schools
In recent years, gifted education programs have received extensive attention from a multitude of
groups, in many cases arousing passionate arguments about their effectiveness, or even their
fundamentality. Angry parents complain about budget cuts from these programs, while others are
furious that their child was not accepted into a gifted program. Teachers are also divided on this issue.
Some teachers believe gifted programs are very important for engaging high achieving students, while
others believe they hold back students who are not accepted. Still others have too little knowledge of
the issue to create an informed opinion, even though it directly relates to their work. Many do not

A study by Saiying Steenbergen Hu and Paula Olszewski Kubilius notes that gifted programs often
encourage gifted students to remain in public schools rather than transferring to private ones, thus
enriching the intellectual diversity of public schools (Steenbergen Hu et al 33). If they remain in
public schools, gifted students can contribute valuable ideas to class discussions, and they can share
their expertise with classmates, creating a better learning environment for all students. In addition, a
study by Jessica Hockett found that students in gifted programs could act as guinea pigs for
experimental educational policies (Hockett 26 27). Because of their advanced abilities, these students
could easily adapt to make up for loss of instructional time if these programs proved ineffective.
However, if they proved effective, they could improve curricula for general and gifted education alike.
Hockett recognized differences in the characteristics of these programs, but argued that they share
certain core concepts, such as authenticity, applicability, and flexibility, which make them fairly
interchangeable (Hockett

Essay on Condoms
Condoms
The word condom is probably derived from Latin condus meaning receptacle. Another explanation is
that the gut condom was invented by the English army doctor Colonel Quondam in around 1645 and
that the word is a corruption of his name. We do not know who invented condoms, but we do know
that they were in use. There is evidence of this in the writings of Marquis de Sade, Casanova and
James Boswell. The latter, a Scottish lawyer and writer, protected himself against sexually transmitted
diseases by using a linen condom. During a visit to an Amsterdam brothel in 1764, he drank with a
prostitute, but the encounter went no further as he d left his armour behind. When visiting a brothel in
Marseilles, Casanova tried so called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To prevent them slipping off, a ribbon on the open end of the condom was tied around the penis. The
sheaths made of bladder or gut could be used more than once; in contemporary paintings and prints,
they are some times seen hanging on a hook or a clothesline to dry.
Historians disagree about how condoms got their name. Some say a Dr. Condom supplied King
Charles II of England with animal tissue sheaths to keep him from fathering illegitimate children and
getting diseases from prostitutes. Others claim the word comes from a Dr. Condon or a Colonel
Cundum. It may be more likely that the word derives from the Latin Condon , meaning receptacle.
In the 18th century, the famous womanizer, Casanova, wore condoms made of linen. Rubber condoms
were mass produced after 1844, when Charles Goodyear patented the vulcanization of rubber, which
he invented five years earlier. Condoms made of sheep s intestines are still available. They are now
disposable and should only be used once. In the 1940s and 50s, they were washed, slathered in
petroleum jelly, and kept in little wooden boxes in a bedroom drawer but they weren t talked about in
front of the kids, anyway
What is a condom?
Condoms are a thin rubber tube, which fits over the man s erect penis before intercourse. When the
man ejaculates, he does so into the condom that prevents the sperm from entering the vagina. Most
condoms are made of latex and when coated with spermicide

The Role Of Refugees According To The 1951 Refugee Convention
According to the 1951 Refugee Convention, states have the obligation to accept and protect refugees
(REFERENCE). This indicated that so long individuals fit the definition of refugee status, states are
compelled to accept and protect them. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case on a global
level. According to international law, more specifically the 1951 Refugee Convention, refugees are to
be taken in and are to be provided housing, education, and other services in their host country
(REFERENCE). Beyond the acceptance of refugees, states should also be invested in the integration
of refugees into the host society. In recent history, the humanitarian disasters that have happened in
across the Middle East, Africa, and parts of Asia have caused the total upheaval of many lives from
living under the protection of the roofs of their homes to leaving many displaced.
A refugee is defined as someone who is unable or unwilling to return to their country origin, owing to
a well founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a
particular social group, or political opinion (1951 Refugee Convention, 3). The Universal Declaration
of Human Rights 1948 recognizes the right of persons to seek asylum from persecution in other
countries. The United Nations Convention relating to the Status of Refugees adopted in 1951 is the
centerpiece of international refugee protection today (1951 Refugee Convention, 2). The amount of

His change in temperament that he reveals with his statement I blush to confess it that he truly is
experiencing a feeling of the uncanny concerning his alcohol fueled change of character. Freud
theorizes that ...if psychoanalytic theory is correct in maintaining that every emotional affect,
whatever its quality, is transformed by repression into morbid anxiety, then among such cases of
anxiety there must be a class in which the anxiety can be shown to come from something repressed
which recurs (Freud 13). The very fact he began to drink excessively suggests some deep seated
repression the cause of witch one could argue involves the narrator s seemingly unnatural love toward
animals that day by day torments him into a bottle. The desire to subside the feeling of morbid anxiety
in his daily life brings one to understand why he would seek the numbing effects of alcohol, but in so
doing he is unwittingly bringing a side of him to light that should have never seen the light of day.
Although the narrator has shown a tendency toward violence up to this point he had refrained from
demonstrating it to his cat due to the love they had once shared. In the following months the narrator
upon reflection grieves about his deeds, but then that grief gives way to something much darker, I had
so much of my old heart

Juvenile Delinquency Is Committed By A Minor Under The Age...
Juvenile delinquency refers to a status offense that is committed by a minor under the age of 18. Status
offenses include crimes against property, for example, vandalism or stealing, physical violence against
others for example, aggravated assault, murder, other crimes such as drug abuse violations, curfew and
loitering, and driving under the influence; and sexual crimes for example sexual assault or rape
(Enginurt, Ozer, Demir, Yildirim, Cankaya, 2014; Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency
Prevention, n.d.). Statistics of crimes committed by juveniles include the following: 225 arrests for
violent Crime Index offenses for every 100,000 youth between the ages of 10 and 17 years old,
juveniles were known to be involved in 8% of all homicides, and violent crimes committed by
juveniles peaked during the after school hours (National Institute of Justice, n.d.).
Juvenile Courts deal with minors who have been accused of committing a delinquent act and are
considered juvenile delinquency cases. When a case is heard is juvenile court the prosecutor typically
looks at the following things according to lawyer Kathleen Michon (2015): the severity of the offense,
the juvenile s age, the juvenile s past record, the strength of the evidence in the case, the juvenile s
gender (boys are more likely to be charged than girls), the juvenile s social history, and the ability of
the minor s parents to control his or her behavior (p.1). Two options are seen in juvenile court, they are

Michael Jordan is one of the best NBA players of all time. This is my biography about him.
Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. Michael Jordan went to

journey. But he didn t try to make the team until his sophomore year where he didn t even make the

determined to make the very next year. So in the next summer Michael trained all summer long, where
he also grew from being 5 11 to being 6 3. All of this paid off as he made the team that year and took

However, word study and access to Hebrew and Greek are completely new to me. Using the

There are two sides of ethical dilemma from this scenario. First, the fellow nurse who has mistakenly

It is tough to go against someone who is a friend especially after knowing his situation. But on other
hand, honesty is important in every aspect of life. Especially when it comes to putting someone s life
in danger, concealing the truth will make me feel guilty for the rest of my life.
The two nursing ethical values that were questioned in this situation are maintaining commitment and
truthfulness. Maintaining commitments means keeping promises, being honest and meeting implicit or
explicit obligations towards their clients, themselves, each other, the nursing profession, other
members of the health care team and quality practice setting. (CNO Ethics, 2009). In this case, the
fellow nurse compromised the client s safety and well being by not maintaining nurses primary
responsibility to provide safe, effective and ethical care to their patients. Truthfulness means to keep
the clients informed about everything with accurate information. But in this situation, it was total
opposite because the fellow nurse didn t disclose his mistake to the patient and other health care
professionals involved in the patient s care. He instead left his friend nurse in a difficult position by
telling only her about the incident and telling her not to tell others.

  • 2. Different Interpretations Of Religion Essay Nearly everyone has some conception of religion. In fact, sometimes it appears that there are as many definitions of it as there are people (Schmidt 9). Not only does each person have his or her own way of defining religion; each person has his or her own way of practicing religion. Studying these different practices can be difficult. There have been many people who have studied religion and through many different methods. While some people share similar findings, each person has his or her own interpretation of religion. Michael Malloy found three major patterns in his studies of religion. These patterns can be seen in many religions, especially Hinduism. The first pattern Malloy describes is the way each religion contacts the sacred. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hindu s Brahman is an example of sacred reality. They believe Brahman is everywhere and in everything. The True Self is the Brahman that is found in every person. The Self...It is indestructible, for it is never destroyed. It is not for the love of the husband that a husband is dearly loved. Rather it is for the love of the self that the husband is dearly loved (Burke 20,21). Hindus look for the True Self in every person. Because Brahaman is found everywhere, liberation can be found everywhere. Hinduism s view of morality includes the Law of Karma. This is an impersonal law that regulates morality throughout time. To reward the good and punish the wicked (Burke 22). The Law of Karma plays a role in Hindu s view of time. They believe that people are born and reborn during this cycle of samsara and the class, high or low, that a person is reborn into is determined by the Law of Karma. Karma exists constantly because to the Hindus time is on going. Life is an endless cycle that can only be escaped by the knowledge of Brahman. The third pattern is the role of male and female, and how each sex plays a role in the religion. In Hinduism there are male and female gods and they both play a significant role in the beliefs of Classical Hinduism. The god Shiva is the god of destruction, who destroys ignorance and gives Hindus mystical knowledge. Kali is the wife of Shiva, the goddess of time. She is the great mother who creates life only ... So in order to cope up with the situation, companies need to explicitly imply all three types of flexibilities and treat flexibility as an essential thing rather than an additional option. In the flexible firm model denoted by Atkinson, there are two peripheries (core and secondary). `Therefore, it can be presumed that the inner core periphery of highly skilled employees bounded by secondary periphery of non standard workers who could be called back for short term agreements. In the context of UK employing nurses, they tend to do international recruitment. The reason NHS organisations are interested to recruit international nurses is because they could be hired quickly compared to local nurses who need three years to enter the market (RNC updated). The contention behind High Frequency Trading arises from the idea that since the individuals and companies who have access to these supercomputers that compute complex algorithms are able to receive information on the markets before the average investor , they are playing the field and making it uneven. The idea behind High Frequency Trading addresses many of the essential Human Rights course questions such as morality, one s responsibilities and duties to another, civil action, and the human condition itself. High Frequency Trading should be eliminated from the financial markets because it is unfair to the average investor, causes legal implications by shifting the market to the advantage of certain firms, and lacks regulation necessary to promote an even playing field for all investors. • 13. Personal Statement Of Purpose For A Career In Journalism I always knew I wanted to be in Journalism. Growing, up in Cameroon, I had little knowledge of how the media worked or what being a journalist even entailed. I had a passion for telling stories, and zero experience or hope that I would someday be able to do so in a way that effects positive change. As far as I knew, journalism was the ruling government s tool for communicating what it deemed fit for public knowledge, and stifling any information that remotely threatened the political status quo. It wasn t until I moved to the United States with my family in 2010 that I fully understood the power of Media. My educational/professional career since then, has invigorated my love for the media arts. I studied Public Relations and Journalism at Prince Georges Community College from Fall of 2010. I learned about the power of free speech and free media. I gained respect for the First Amendment. It amazed me that here in the United States, anyone could share their opinion, no matter how unpopular and yet be protected by their rights as citizens. This was new and fascinating considering the restrictive nature of press in my home country. Two years and an Associate s degree later, I transferred to Phillip Merrill College of Journalism (University of Maryland College Park) to study broadcasting. There, I learned the tricks of the journalism trade; how to shoot, write, produce, and report news. I took TV/radio broadcasting classes, and studied media law and media ethics. The more I ... In recent history, the humanitarian disasters that have happened in across the Middle East, Africa, and parts of Asia have caused the total upheaval of many lives from living under the protection of the roofs of their homes to leaving many displaced. A refugee is defined as someone who is unable or unwilling to return to their country origin, owing to a well founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion (1951 Refugee Convention, 3). The Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948 recognizes the right of persons to seek asylum from persecution in other countries. The United Nations Convention relating to the Status of Refugees adopted in 1951 is the centerpiece of international refugee protection today (1951 Refugee Convention, 2). The story begins as a simple re telling of events from the narrator s life. This self reflection was brought on by the narrator s imminent execution on the following day the cause of his execution remains shrouded behind statements indicating the common place. His change in temperament that he reveals with his statement I blush to confess it that he truly is experiencing a feeling of the uncanny concerning his alcohol fueled change of character. Freud theorizes that ...if psychoanalytic theory is correct in maintaining that every emotional affect, whatever its quality, is transformed by repression into morbid anxiety, then among such cases of anxiety there must be a class in which the anxiety can be shown to come from something repressed which recurs (Freud 13). The very fact he began to drink excessively suggests some deep seated repression the cause of witch one could argue involves the narrator s seemingly unnatural love toward animals that day by day torments him into a bottle. The desire to subside the feeling of morbid anxiety in his daily life brings one to understand why he would seek the numbing effects of alcohol, but in so doing he is unwittingly bringing a side of him to light that should have never seen the light of day. Although the narrator has shown a tendency toward violence up to this point he had refrained from demonstrating it to his cat due to the love they had once shared. In the following months the narrator upon reflection grieves about his deeds, but then that grief gives way to something much darker, I had so much of my old heart ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. The Importance Of Religion In Education I am very grateful to God for providing the Interpreting Scripture Course with Dr. Norris. I serve our Lord as Director of Ministry to Women and Children at Trinity Church alongside a team of pastors reporting to the Senior Pastor. I have served in full time in ministry for nine years, with the first five years in another area church. Prior to full time ministry, I held a 21 year long business career as a top executive and served the Lord in church lay leadership. I consider God s call on my life to use the experience He developed in me during the business years to now use it to edify His church in growing believers while reaching out to the community in need of a Savior. Using the concordance and Blue Letter Bible to find if the common root words that have been translated are the same or not was extremely helpful. I previously understood evaluating the surrounding context, but did not have access or know how to evaluate the keywords in Hebrew or Greek which helps to extend valuable insight in how the word was used to the original biblical audience. This interpretive evaluation is clarifying my focus on what theological truths are present, therefore driving properly aligned application. To take this a step further, I am in prayer now in planning forward how to use this class learning (observation, literary context, word studies) and teach them to women ministry leaders at Trinity this coming summer focusing on a section of Scripture. Moreover, I would provide teaching on the genre and historical background of the Scripture we would be focusing on. And furthermore, I am praying about providing this learning opportunity for all women at Trinity. Also of great importance and completely new to me is the 5 Step Interpretive Journey. Specifically, in Step 1 learning to use different interpretive tools to uncover what the text could have meant to the biblical audience and then carry that into Step 2 in evaluating our cultural differences to that of the biblical audience. But at the same time, I also questioned his accountability and moral responsibility as a nurse. The importance of keeping personal and professional life separate and being able to work without jeopardizing clients life. There are two sides of ethical dilemma from this scenario. First, the fellow nurse who has mistakenly gave wrong dosage of medication to a client, the reason being that he is recently divorced and he is a single dad to his two children who he has full custody over. Second, the nurse who is a friend of the fellow nurse and she knows that he had previously made mistakes giving medications. She s in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is tough to go against someone who is a friend especially after knowing his situation. But on other hand, honesty is important in every aspect of life. Especially when it comes to putting someone s life in danger, concealing the truth will make me feel guilty for the rest of my life. The two nursing ethical values that were questioned in this situation are maintaining commitment and truthfulness. Maintaining commitments means keeping promises, being honest and meeting implicit or explicit obligations towards their clients, themselves, each other, the nursing profession, other members of the health care team and quality practice setting. (CNO Ethics, 2009). In this case, the fellow nurse compromised the client s safety and well being by not maintaining nurses primary responsibility to provide safe, effective and ethical care to their patients. Truthfulness means to keep the clients informed about everything with accurate information. But in this situation, it was total opposite because the fellow nurse didn t disclose his mistake to the patient and other health care professionals involved in the patient s care. He instead left his friend nurse in a difficult position by telling only her about the incident and telling her not to tell others. Plan There are two possible ways to resolve this ethical situation. The first option is to use therapeutic communication ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
