Who is Pamela Meyer? • She is an author, a certified fraud examiner and an entrepreneur. • Highly trained in interrogation, microexpression analysis, speech analysis, and emotion recognition. • Published her book “Lie Spotting: Proven Techniques to Detect Deception” in 2010. • Dubbed “The nation's best known expert on lying” by readers digest.
- 4. Where do lies gain their power from? • Lying is a cooperative act, it takes more than one person to form a lie. • Lies gain their power from us, all of us. • All of us want to believe in one lie or another. • Not all lies are harmful.
- 5. Trivia • On average you may be lied to 10-200 times in a single day. • Extroverts lie more. • Strangers lie 3 times within 10 minutes of meeting each other. • It’s a lot harder to lie to an attractive person of opposite sex.

- 11. Body Language slips • Non verbal gestures are a lot harder to fake. • Don’t assume how people are supposed to act when lying. • Lips will say yes, headshake will say no. • Liars try to overcompensate with more eye contact and hand gestures.
- 13. Facial Expressions • Our micro expressions give us away. • Look at the eyes when spotting a fake smile. • Excessive blinking. • Scowl indicates contempt.
