Water is essential for survival but is becoming scarce as the global population grows. Only 1% of the world's water is easily accessible for drinking. Many regions already face water scarcity due to lack of access to safe, clean water (quality scarcity) or insufficient water supplies (quantity scarcity). If current trends continue, more than 3 billion people may suffer from water shortages by 2025. Small changes like turning off the tap while brushing teeth can save over 200 liters of water per month. It's important to conserve water to ensure future generations have enough for basic needs.
Water is the most precious gift of nature. It has no taste, no smell and no colour. It is found everywhere and the other name of it is life. We find it in tanks, ponds, wells, rivers and springs. Almost three-fourth of the earth is water. We should conserve and save water so as to protect the water environment.

Water is probably the most important resource on Earth. We need water to grow and to stay alive. In fact, we could only live for a few days without drinking water. We also need water to grow plants and care for animals, cook our food, bathe and brush our teeth, flush the toilet, and wash our clothes.
This presentation discusses water sources, its use, wastage of water, importance of saving it, recycling and reusing it, water scarcity and ways to prevent the impending calamity

Water is very important. But some peoples can’t understand the importance of water. Who are very rich but they are poor without a water. So let’s give a message’SAVE WATER TO SAVE LIFE’
Dehydration occurs when your body is unable to retain fluids and electrolytes. When there is a reduction in the water content of the body, the salt-sugar balance goes haywire, which affects the functioning of the body. There are many factors that cause dehydration
Water is a necessary element for sustainable development.
It serves a crucial link between the environment and society and the heart the heart of adaptation to climate change.
Water is critical for human survival, healthy ecosystem, food production, energy production, and socio-economic development. Increasing population, limited water resources, and our dependence on water has given rise to global water quality challenges.
Difference in spring water, natural mineral water & tap waterjal torque
“Waters obtained directly at the source and packaged close to the source; are characterized by the presence of certain mineral salts in relative proportions and trace elements or other constituents. It may be naturally carbonated (with carbon dioxide from the source), carbonated (with added carbon dioxide of another origin), de carbonated (with less carbon dioxide than present in the water at the source so it does not spontaneously give off carbon dioxide under conditions of standard temperature and pressure), or fortified (with carbon dioxide from the source), and non-carbonated (contains no free carbon dioxide)”. Defecation
Normal defecation begins with movement in the left colon, moving stool toward the anus. When stool reaches the rectum, the distention causes relaxation of the internal sphincter and an awareness of the need to defecate. At the time of defecation, the external sphincter relaxes, and abdominal muscles contract, increasing intrarectal pressure and forcing the stool out
The Valsalva maneuver exerts pressure to expel faeces through a voluntary contraction of the abdominal muscles while maintaining forced expiration against a closed airway. Patients with cardiovascular disease, glaucoma, increased intracranial pressure, or a new surgical wound are at greater risk for cardiac dysrhythmias and elevated blood pressure with the Valsalva maneuver and need to avoid straining to pass the stool.
Normal defecation is painless, resulting in passage of soft, formed stool
CONSTIPATION
Constipation is a symptom, not a disease. Improper diet, reduced fluid intake, lack of exercise, and certain medications can cause constipation. For example, patients receiving opiates for pain after surgery often require a stool softener or laxative to prevent constipation. The signs of constipation include infrequent bowel movements (less than every 3 days), difficulty passing stools, excessive straining, inability to defecate at will, and hard feaces
IMPACTION
Fecal impaction results from unrelieved constipation. It is a collection of hardened feces wedged in the rectum that a person cannot expel. In cases of severe impaction the mass extends up into the sigmoid colon.
DIARRHEA
Diarrhea is an increase in the number of stools and the passage of liquid, unformed feces. It is associated with disorders affecting digestion, absorption, and secretion in the GI tract. Intestinal contents pass through the small and large intestine too quickly to allow for the usual absorption of fluid and nutrients. Irritation within the colon results in increased mucus secretion. As a result, feces become watery, and the patient is unable to control the urge to defecate. Normally an anal bag is safe and effective in long-term treatment of patients with fecal incontinence at home, in hospice, or in the hospital. Fecal incontinence is expensive and a potentially dangerous condition in terms of contamination and risk of skin ulceration
HEMORRHOIDS
Hemorrhoids are dilated, engorged veins in the lining of the rectum. They are either external or internal.
FLATULENCE
As gas accumulates in the lumen of the intestines, the bowel wall stretches and distends (flatulence). It is a common cause of abdominal fullness, pain, and cramping. Normally intestinal gas escapes through the mouth (belching) or the anus (passing of flatus)
FECAL INCONTINENCE
Fecal incontinence is the inability to control passage of feces and gas from the anus. Incontinence harms a patient’s body image

3. Water covers 71% of Earth’s surface and essential for survival
On Earth, water is found mostly in oceans and other
large water bodies
1.6 % water below ground in aquifers
0.001 % in the air as vapor, clouds, and precipitation
97% of surface water contained in oceans, 2.4% polar ice caps and glaciers, 0.6% other land
surface water like ponds river and lakes.
4. WATER SCARCITY
Lack of access to
safe water (Quality)
Water scarcity
defined as
Lack of Enough
Water (Quantity)
Economic Scarcity
In developing country, finding a reliable source of safe water is not only expensive but time-consuming as well.
This is considered as Economic Scarcity.
Physical Scarcity
It many areas, water can be easily found, it just requires resources to do it. But in some areas water is not
enough. This is considered as Physical Scarcity.
5. VALUE OF WATER
We all need three for survival i.e Oxygen, Water, and Food. In India, there is a shortage of
clean water in many places like Delhi, Bihar, and U. P etc.
Less than 1% of water is suitable for drinking
More than 1 billion people around the globe survive on
just over 4 liters of water per day
It is estimated that more than 3 billion people may suffer
from water shortage by 2025
6. WATER FACTS
98%
of water-related
diseases occur in
developing countries
More than
4 million
people die due to water
borne diseases
women in Asia and Africa have
to walk around 37 miles to
collect water. In rural villages
this time span increases
Considering India, waterborne
diseases costs economy
almost 3 million working
days per year.
Every 15 seconds,
a child die of water
borne diseases
Here is a small example - It takes around 300 liters of water to make paper for one Sunday newspaper. So use
paper only when needed. Prefer alternative sources like E-mails, messages, electronic sources.
8. SAVING WATER AT THE SINK
Turn off the water while you brush your teeth
Turn off the water while you wash your hands.
To wash your hands effectively and use less water. First, fill the palm
of one hand with water and turn off the water. Add soap and lather
well. Turn on the water and rinse quickly. By allowing the water to run
while you wash your hands you waste more than three times the
water than if you turn off the water while you wash your hands.
9. SAVE WATER IN THE TOILET
Consider purchasing a low flush toilet or converting a standard
toilet to low flush.
Follow the water saving rule in your bathroom:
"If it's yellow, let it mellow; if
it's brown, flush it down!"
While this strategy is repellant to many, it is a safe, water-
saving alternative that is practiced in many countries.
10. SAVE WATER IN THE SHOWER
Install a low-flow shower head and always keep
your showers as short as possible.
If you take a bath do not fill the tub up any higher
than necessary.
Consider saving the water for your plants.
11. Use your washing machine only when it is filled to its total capacity. This saves about
4500 liters per month.
Avoid using a shower for bathing. Use bucket instead. This saves about 150-200 liters
every day.
Turn off the tap while brushing. This saves more than 200 liters of water every month.
Use sprinklers to water the plants provided you have a large garden.
Ensure that your home has no leakages.
Check whether all the water bottles are closed properly.
Stop participating in Water Holi.
Whenever you waste water, just think about those millions of people who
struggle to save every drop of water for their survival.
Last but not the least, spread awareness regarding water conservation.
