I have nearly hit 700 likes on my Facebook page! This is really exciting, and I
have done this purely though providing regular content and being
personal. The great thing about Facebook is it is about the quality of your page
and the number of people who interact with it, more than the number of ‘Likes’
you have on your Facebook page.
So how do you build quality Facebook likes and get people interacting with you
on the social media platform?
Here are my top 5 tips:
1. To start your page off , ask your friends to Like your page. Okay, they may
not be potential clients, but their friends may be, and when they ‘like’ your page
it may show up in their timeline that they have liked it! There friends will see
this. Great promotion for you, and also helps you establish a base.
2. Be really friendly. Do not be scared to show your personality. If you are a
large corporation then maybe nominate someone from your company to run
your Facebook account and give that person a name. People buy people so
ensure that when people interact with you, they know who they are talking too.
3. Use Facebook advertising. Really knowing who your clients are is a great
way to know who to target with Facebook advertising. If you don’t know how to
do this, either get training, or get someone who does know to help you. Do not
use Facebook advertising if you are unsure of exactly who your potential client
is. Start at the beginning and carry out a customer profile exercise if you need
to first! Otherwise you will waste a ton of money.
4. Post regularly. Once a week is not enough. If possible, post twice a day. It
is the only way to build a relationship with people. Some of your updates can
be more personable. Remember you are not using Facebook to blatantly sell,
there are rules you must adhere to for social media to work!
5. Post people back to your blog. It is important to help people. Your blog
should be informative and not a blatant pitch. I will write more on this in another
blog.
