Papa Johns Swot Analysis Paper
FIRM S PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
пѓјOPERATING
Papa John s performance in business operation in the year 2013 and 2014 depicts that it has had a
decrease on net profit margin of 9.43 meanwhile Dominoes has had only a decrease of 3.20. This
financial statement illustrates that the operation has done something that customers are not
satisfied with. Based upon reviews online for Papa Johns they have had a lot of complains on
wrong orders and rude staff (John s, 2016); due to this fact many of their potential customers
choose an alternative pizza restaurant instead like one of its leading competitor the Dominoes.
Although Papa John s assert in employee training programs and hiring talents, franchisee and other

One of Papa John s major internal strengths is that they solely use fresh ingredients and is
consistent in the delivery of it therefore they sell outmost for their quality (Strand, 2016).
Papa John s also carry out employee training programs in order for their employees to be always
updated with new trends and become more knowledgeable in this fast paced industry.
According to the study of Gerald Secody, Papa John s has built a foundation of trust and loyalty
amongst their customers and suppliers leading to what is a competitive advantage (Secody, 2014).
oWEAKNESSES
A weakness that the restaurant faces is that the company was accused and faced a lawsuit from their
competitor the Pizza Hut for being dishonest in their advertisements as to not using fresh
ingredients as they say they are. Due to the lawsuit the business faces, it has impacted negatively on
the media attention and therefore become a challenge to them to overcome this.

The Impact Of Rock N Roll On American Culture
The Music that Rocked America
Rock n roll has made an extreme impact on the American culture for individuals and their growth
in society. Plato, a famous philosopher, says, Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the
mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything ( A Quote ). Rock n roll is a form of music
that has made many opportunities possible for the American people. This category of music has
also opened doors for future generations and America s evolution. Rock n roll in American culture
has been beneficial in the progression of life styles because it has advanced the relationship between
music and technology, created distinct social changes in cultures and adolescents, and formed new
inspirational music genres. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rock n roll was an outlet that put aside the separation and began to include all ethnicities because
of similar feelings and ideas that everyone experienced through the music. This category of music
included subcategories that molded into what it became known as today. The origins of rock n roll
come from African American musical styles such as blues, jazz, and gospel and traditional white
musical styles like country and western swing (Howitt). These combinations of music provided a
new social change and an acceptance of other cultures. In this photo to the left and above, Chubby
Checker, an American singer songwriter, is dancing the twist which was a popularized dance style
that went beyond the normal, modest moves during this time (Hammond). The photo shows the
environment of integrated ethnicities that enjoy the same music, dance, and life style. Rock n roll
helped this generation realize the importance of working similar minds together without the
difference of race. New life styles emerged because of the rock n roll scene like the creation of this
music genre and the rebellious dancing that came with it in attempt to show the conservative
figures that everyone should express themselves no matter what

Stella Artois s Market Entry Strategy
Stella Artois, informally called Stella, is a pilsner beer between 4.8 and 5.2% ABV. It is a beer
brand from Belgium and it also brewed in other locations. Stella Artois is one of the prominent
brands of Anheuser Busch InBev, the world s largest brewer. Stella Artois has its own Pouring
Ritual and iconic serving chalice and it is savoured in 95 countries as a complement to elegant
events and fine dining (ABInBev, 2014). The first point will be discussed is Stella Artoiss market
entry strategy. As same as other international companies, Stella Artois also uses acquisition strategy
to expand its market. As InBev attempted to maximise its product portfolio by launching its leading
brands into new markets, Stella Artois was launched as a premium product in Latin America
(Passport, 2005). China is the key focus of Stella Artois s efforts to generate growth. The 2014
acquisition helped the company make the fastest growing top 10 player in the market (ABInBev,
2015). The acquisition also served to strengthen its position in economy larger and enhanced the
company s production and distribution infrastructure in the market. The second point being
analyzed is Stella Artois s marketingstrategy. First of all, the packaging strategy of Stella Artois
will be analysed. The packaging of Stella Artois has evolved over time. However, the mandate on
the design has not change. All packaging must be supreme quality and worth (Stella Artois, 2004).

How Tuition Fees Deter The Attendance Essay
Increased enrollment and a decreased fiscal focus by governments on post secondary education has
led to the ongoing inflation of tuition rates in Canada. By comparing countries with exorbitantly
high tuition rates and countries with free education, the efficacy of the Canadian system can be
studied. This paper will explore how tuition fees deter the attendance to university by low income
and international students, and address the need to restructure our economically outdated post
secondary system.
Post secondary education is highly valued in Canada. Statistics Canada (2016) recorded that 64.1%
of Canadians between the ages of 25 to 64 possess some form of post secondary education, a
percentage that has been steadily increasing throughout the years. However, this influx in
enrollment for higher education has greatly affected the way in which public institutions are
funded. Historically, Canadian colleges have been funded largely through federal and provincial
government grants, yet following the recession in the 1970s, funding was seriously impacted as
the government was forced to focus their fiscal funding in higher priority areas (Jones, 2014). In
addition, health and education were grouped together in federal allowances to the provincial
government in 1995, resulting in more than 4.5 billion dollars between 1995 and 1997 (Fisher, et
al, 2006). This forced provincial governments to reevaluate and reform their systems, with many
provinces choosing to decrease funding to

Toad Revisited Larkin
This poem is Larkin s monologue about work. Larking walks through a park and even though he
finds it an appealing and pleasurable sight, he would rather like to keep himself busy with work.
He does not want to be lazy like the people at the park but would rather like to perform his duties
meticulously so that when he dies he can have the satisfaction of having worked so hard. Toad
Revisited is Larkin s mental debate in which he weighs the advantages and disadvantages of
work and of leisure; and comes to the definite conclusion that work is preferable to sloth or to
leisure unlike the people around him. Toad work refers to the easy work that people do that does
not need much intelligence or skills. Their jobs are easy which therefore, in Larkin s view, makes
them lazy. He is the opposite of these people as he is intelligent and educated which is why he
needs a break and walks through the park unlike the rest of them.... Show more content on

Work, which the people he sees in the park avoid by being lazy. He is saying, although work is
still unpleasant (like a toad), it is something that gives him a sense of purpose. It s something
that will help him in life and he will do it until the end of his life. He has accepted the fact that
working for him is preferable to not working, and he actually asks the toad (work) to help him
through the rest of his life as he walks down Cemetery road, which is a place of death. Larkin
means he is going to work at his current job that he might not necessarily like until he dies,
which gives us a sense that he is at ease with doing so he sees that the alternative is far worse (the
alternative being the people at the park). There is therefore an acceptance of the toad work as
being not only necessary but also

The 9th track on the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill , I Used to Love Him starts with a monotonous
slow I used to love him but now I don t her regret and slowly healing pain apparent. The guitar riff
at the beginning sounds like a heartbeat close to dying although this beat continues throughout the
song, it picks up pace (in a similar fashion to Hill s now fixed heart). The song acts as a break up
venting session between Mary J. Blige and Hill and describes the after effects of her affair with
Jean Wyclef (her former Fugees bandmate).
The song is kind of vengeful, chronicling how good it feels to let go. Hill is crooning to her

The Victorian Era, was an era of etiquette, manners, clothes, money, social activity and tea parties.
Etiquette, manners, clothes, and money were all the victorian era was about. Men, women, and
children were all different and had different roles in Victorian society. Clothes stated who you
were and how much money you had. Men and women had to dress more appropriate and social,
but children were a tad bit more free clothing choices, to a certain age.
The Victorian Era was an era of the wealthy dressing fancy and going to parties, and poor dressing

William Henry Fox Talbot s Demographic Research
To our right is William Henry Fox Talbot s photograph and one the first famous calotypes, titled
Talbot s photographic printing establishment at Reading, shot ca. 1845/ 1846. The Calotype, or
Talbotype process, was first invented by Talbot in September of 1840 and declared official five
months later. Research explains that the calotype s flexibility allowed photographers to manipulate
the image before a pint was produced and its visual softness neutralizes singular detail in favor of
the universal. In addition, its matte surface image, with a limited tonal range, makes contrast and
mass, and not sharp line, the major visual impulse. (Hirsch 41) During the time period this
photograph was created, many events and tragedies took place. For instance, one of the five major
battles taken place on American soil, the Mexican American war (an armed conflict between the
United Stated and the currently known Second Federal Republic of Mexico) took place. In

which is a drama book written by Oscar Wilde. It was set in London in the year of 1895. A constant
theme throughout this book was marriage beginning with Lane and Algernon discussion. Everyone
has different ideas of what marriage is, Lane believes it is a pleasant state, Algernon and Jack
discuss if it s for business or pleasure. Lady Bracknell believes that it should be a complete

The Wealth and Succes of William Vanderbilt Essay
William Vanderbilt was an American businessman whose wealth was derived from the thriving
railroad industry of the late nineteenth century. He was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey in

Michigan Southern Railway, the Canada Southern Railway, and the Michigan Central Railroad. He

The rails are the single and greatest contributor to his vast fortune, and he saw it as one well
deserved by his family and himself. The wealth should not be stripped from his good hands, as
he saw it, especially considering his notable contributions to charity and the national economy all
around. Vanderbilt expressed the utmost confidence in his own people and his own company. In
fact, he stated in that same interview, I don t take any stock in this silly nonsense about working
for anybody but our own. The idea of the federal government acquiring the railroads would not
appeal to this attitude nor would it find support in any region of his company. This support your
own type of attitude is one that carries well among those who are involved, thus the effort to
acquiesce the railroads from Vanderbilt and his people would no doubt be faced with adversity.
Finally, the idea of establishing a national welfare system for all citizens who fall below a
congressionally defined poverty line would most likely not be supported by Vanderbilt. Logic
dictates that those who have money, tend to try and keep it when it comes to fiscal policy. For the
same reasons that wealthy conservatives of todays republican party oppose the institution of
national healthcare which raises taxation on the upper one

Identifying A Cluster Of Media Communication
Examining a cluster of media communication in order to review common and unique approaches
that the marketing industry utilizes was not something that crossed my mind to ever do. The task
was not as easy as I expected when explained in class; but, it was interesting and seeing as though I
have learned over the years through my other classes that the average American spends somewhere
near 8 hours of their day watching television, the marketing industry has a big advantage using
commercials to attract their viewers and manipulate them into purchasing and using or consuming
the product they are delivering to them through the television screen. For this assignment, I tuned

resources they will need for future endeavors. I was unable to document a significant difference in
the types of commercials shown during these programs in order to have much of a comparison, but
there was enough alike about them to dissect them and really figure out the methods which
broadcasting companies use in order to attract their buyers and consumers. For every television
channel I have ever watched throughout my life the commercials have always been significantly
louder than the actual show I am viewing; not just for these two channels, but I did notice it more

channel I choose to watch? The answer to this question: marketing purposes. It is in the companies
best interest on becoming successful with the product they are attempting to sell by turning the
volume up on their commercials louder than the actual television show because it attracts the
viewers and manipulates them in to paying attention to them. People are not watching television

Military Planning For The First Time During World War II
Since the Cold War, scholars utilizing a military and state centric approach to the study of regime
security such as Paul Williams, Joseph Nye and Sean Lynn Jones, and Stephen Walt have made
significant contributions to the literature on security studies. While these authors present unique
viewpoints, they all tend share the perspective that major international conflict has been a key
factor in the development of this field. Stephen Walt pointed out that the idea of securitystudies first
emerged as a result of civilians becom[ing] extensively involved in military planning for the first
time during World War II. This surge in civilian interest during the war led to an era of security
studies known as the Golden Age during which Paul Williams indicated that civilian strategists
enjoyed relatively close connections with Western governments and their foreign and security
policies. The enthusiasm for this area of study was maintained for a substantial amount of time due
to what Joseph Nye called the unprecedented nature of security problems confronting the United
States, which were mostly brought about by the advent of the atomic age. Several forces however,
would eventually counteract the uptick in interest; principle among them was the negative
perception of the Vietnam War. Walt highlighted this idea stating the debacle in Indochina ... made

Female Genital Mutilation is Sexual Abuse Essay
Female circumcision, also known as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), is a very dangerous
surgery. It is done to girls of any age, from a few days old to right before their wedding. The most
common age is three. In most countries where
FGM is practiced the clitoris is considered dangerous to the man. At one point they thought that if a
penis touched a clitoris, it would shrivel up and fall off.
Girls in Africa and parts of Asia are genitally mutilated for family honor, cleanliness, protection
against spells, insurance of virginity and faithfulness to the husband, or to terrorize women out of
sex. In the late 70 s and early 80 s parts of

The third type,
Infibulation, is the most severe and harmful type. In infibulation, the entire clitoris and both labia
are removed. Then the remaining tissue of the vulva are pinned together by catgut or silk sutures.
A tiny slit, for urination and menstruation, is left open by inserting a sliver of wood, a
matchstick, or reed into the vagina. After the surgery, the girl is bound from hip to ankle and
kept immobile for 40 days. This allows scar tissue to form. All three types result in many
harmful effects. Most of the effects of FGM are caused by the surgery taking place in an
unsanitary environment. Kitchen knives, scissors, razor blades, or pieces of glass are the most
common instruments used for the cutting. Unless performed in a hospital, the cutting tool is
generally rusty and very dirty. Instead of sterilizing the instrument between surgeries, it is placed
on dirt, ashes, or cow dung. This results in many infections. Using the same tool on several girls
also promotes the spread of HIV. Due to loss of blood and pain many girls suffer from shock.
Many women suffer from pelvic complications. Also urinary retention and urinary tract infections
are common among circumcised women. Due to loss of blood many of the girls suffer from week
bones, often resulting in fractures and breaks. The loss of the clitoris makes it impossible for the
woman to have an orgasm. If the person performing the

Why Dogs Are Better Pets Than Cats
Why Dogs are The Best I believe Dogs are better pets than cats. I have owned three dogs and
many of my relatives own dogs. Although dogs take more time and money, they are overall still
better pets. More United States households own a dog, than cats. Cats cough up fur balls. Dogs are
good listeners and are fun to play with. Just think about it with a dogyou don t have deal with a

Henry Weeks Sanderson, And Edward Hunter
This is a true story of two men. And while not able to contain their whole lives in a few small
pages, much of their story will be told. The names of these two men are Henry Weeks Sanderson,
and Edward Hunter. Sanderson: a previous member of the Mormon Battalion and mayor of
Fairview, Utah. Edward Hunter: the third presiding Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints and body guard to the LDS Prophet Joseph Smith. These are only some of the major
accomplishments and personas linked to the listed men. These two people have changed my

During one of my rambles I went into the pasture, I presume to have a nearer view of the horses
or perhaps to give them a fright to see them run. But a large stallion observing me, and no doubt
thinking me an intruder, took after me with open mouth and I barely sufficient time to make my
exit through a hole in the fence (familysearch.org stories). As is easy to see through this writing,
Henry was a vivid journalist, and He kept a highly detailed journey of his many life events
(familypedia.wikia.com). Another easily pictured experience is shared by Sanderson. During
his childhood, at the age when I first began my rambles, there was a small dog that was my
companion and upon one occasion when we were out together I seemed to have had occasion to
crawl through a pole fence, and in doing so the pole above me was dislodged and falling upon
me, pinned me fast, and I could neither retreat nor advance. The dog seemed to have the sagacity
to see that I was in perilous condition and needed assistance. It therefore went to the house and my
it s antics attracted the attention of my mother who came to my relief (familysearch.org stories).
Stories similar to these are very common for the time that Henry was around, but his colorful
descriptions make the accounts much more lifelike and entertaining. Although much of Henry s life
may have contained several typical experiences, several factors of it make it remarkably different

The Theory Of Purchasing Power Parity
David Ricardo came up with the theory of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). PPP is an economic
technique used to estimate the level of adjustment needed to arrive at an agreed exchange rate
between two currencies in order that trade can effectively take place. When the price of two
commodities from two different countries is converted into one currency, the price of both
commodities should be the same. One way of determining the inter currency exchange rates is to
carry out a PPP test. This test will also help to prevent commodity traders from buying cheaply and
selling at significantly higher rates.
The basic measure of PPP is the law of one price: Pi=EiP*i, where Ei is the exchange rate, Pi = log
(CPI of the domestic country), and P*i= log (CPI of the foreign country). The equation means
that the good i should have same price when the exchange rate is applied to it. This is because
there is an arbitrage in exporting goods from the country that has a low price to a country that has a
high price. In the long term, prices when converted into the same currency at market exchange rates
, should be equal across economically integrated countries . (Voinea: 2013, p.6)
There are two ways to measure PPP. The first one is Absolute PPP (APPP) which states that the
exchange rate between two countries should be equal to the price of a basket of items in two
countries due to arbitrage, i.e. ∑в
–’p_i=E∑в
–’p_i^* , where E is the exchange rate. The second
measure is Relative PPP (RPPP)

Intellectual Stimulation
The concept of Intellectual Stimulation is the most important concept in this module. To become
an Adaptable Leader, one must be skilled in the art of taking different points of view into
consideration before a decision is made. This concept will enable the leader to establish a base for
delivering the I know what it means to be in your shoes message to the followers. Additionally,
adaptable leaders wield higher levels of cognitive, emotional, and dispositional flexibilities, which
are vital for boosting qualities of effective followership and improving overall organizational
performance. If this concept is not applied, the followers commitment to the organization will be

viewpoints of subordinates are taken into consideration prior to finalizing a decision. This approach
will provide my subordinates with the confidence to determine their own goals and team roles,
which will eventually spark initiative and strengthen their commitment to the unit s mission. When

Construct Moral Principles That Transcend Time, Culture,...
Is it Possible to Construct Moral Principles that Transcend Time, Culture, and Context?
As we look for a new way to live our lives, we constantly look back to remind ourselves of the
way things used to be. Western culture as we know it today, did not start off as it is now, and it
certainly is not going to remain the same for very long. Many years ago families had moral
values that served a purpose in their lives. Women stayed at home and took care of the children
while men s went to work to provide the family. However, if you think about that today, you will
be shocked and puzzled because our moral values today cannot be compared with the values from
other eras. Moral principles change. But is it possible to construct moral principles that ... Show

For example, all religions tell us that basic morals every person must follow comprise of don t lie,
don t steal and never commit adultery. Universal morality exists. And one of them is Utilitarianism
. Utilitarianism theory states, that all the activities should be directed towards the accomplishment
of the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people. For example, a pharmaceutical
company released a drug that has been governmentally approved with known side effects because
the drug is able to help more people than are bothered by the minor side effects. Utilitarianism is a
universal moral principle that was and will be considered moral throughout most of the eras. In
conclusion, it is possible to construct moral principles that transcend time, culture and context.
There must be something that the whole world has to agree on. Otherwise, the whole world will
fall apart. There might be some rules that are slightly different in different place because they are
just interpreted differently. Moral principle like utilitarianism should be considered moral through
most ears. However, some morality can undergo a revolution within a generation. So is it possible

Sample Naturalistic Observation Papers
On Friday, February 10th, 2017 I did a naturalistic observation with the intent to observe gender
dynamics unfold in a specific setting. I attended a party on Friday night and observed for
approximately 2 hours. The setting was a lingerie party at Gaia s Cradle.
Gaia s Cradle is a living learning community at Northland, located next to the CSE building, in a
historical two story home with six students residing. It is a learning community dedicated to
gender, women s, and sexuality studies. Gaia s regularly holds educational events, and always
offers free condoms and dental dams for anyone who needs/wants. As a setting, Gaia s is an
extremely open, accepting, and diverse place. For the party, he house was decorated with art made
from a previous event this week, photos of people with their bodies painted, and various lingerie

lights and black lights. Dance music was playing loudly from a ... Show more content on

The men at the party only drank beer, while playing beer pong. The beer was in bottles, cans, or in
the red solo cups from the game. The women at the party either took shots together, or brought
their own wine or mixed drinks in water bottles. I believe many women brought their own drinks
for safety reasons. College, especially college parties, can be a very dangerous place for women.
Rates of sexual assault are extremely high on college campuses. These women likely mixed and
brought their own drinks so they would know they aren t getting drugged. The men weren t
worried about being drugged by drinking open solo cups of beer that were setting out in public.
This is an example of male privilege. The men at the party didn t need to worry about being
drugged and possibly assaulted because the overwhelming majority of assaults are committed by

Why Positive Intelligence Can Help An Hr Professional...
Introduction The power of positive thinking has been lauded for its ability to bring light and
good feelings to bad situations since the beginning of man. Everyone who was able to harness
the power of positive thought was able to bring new and innovative inventions to mankind
because they didn t allow failures and negative experiences shape the way they viewed the toils
of their work. In other words, people were able to see the glass as half full rather than half empty
which brought about positive outcomes because they were able to see through all the negative
aspects of their work or life. This brief discussion will talk about just that, the power of positive

Importance of Possessing a Positive Intelligence As we ve seen from the definition of positive
intelligence, it seems as though the importance of mastering the concepts are self evident. We
all want to perform at our best in whatever task we take on providing the greatest possible
product or resource for our employer. We ve all worked with someone who has constantly
portrayed a negative attitude and it never contributed to a highly effective workplace. John
Maxwell is a motivational speaker and leadership expert has made a living off of getting people to
think more positively through their daily tasks to produce high level results. In his Daily Reader
book he provides an example of what positive thought and positive expectations can provide a
person. He says that if a person gives themselves just 30 days of expecting the best of everything
they will often receive the positive outcomes they perceive. He says a person will get out of their
life everything they expect from it, god or bad (Maxwell, 2007). The power of positive
intelligence can be profound on a personal and professional level and its importance should not be
discredited.

Essay on General George Washington and The Continental Army
The American Revolution was a great time of change for America as a nation. With this change
new heroes and ideals of life, liberty, and freedom were formed. Spearheading these new ideals was
General George Washington and his continental army, but the road ahead of Washington and his
men was not an unproblematic one. The winter at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania proved this to
Washington and his men. Yet the true American ideal of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness
were never forgotten in their battle. General George Washington gained command of the
continental army in July 3, 1775 from the directions of General Artemus Ward who said, The

food, clothing, and weaponry very scarce. Soldiers were treated to the worst conditions possible

Dysentery and Typhus ran rampant at Valley Forge. These conditions alone accounted for the
lives of hundreds of American soldiers that winter. Yet in early spring at Valley Forge General
Nathanel Greene was appointed quartermaster. Conditions for the members of the continental
army greatly improved. Food was in abundance as well as clothing and soldiers took full
advantage of it. While the American soldiers were very valiant, they lacked the discipline and

Sweatshops In The Sweathing Industry
See
Many large companies, especially in the clothing industry, rely on oversea sweatshops as their
primary source of production. The term sweatshop is used to describe a factory that violates two
or more laws regarding labor. In many developing countries, these workers are subject to terrible
working conditions, low wage, child labour, unreasonable hours and a lack of benefits. Sweatshops
are utilised due to the cheap labor and production by a number of companies like Zara, Kmart,
Cotton On and Target. Despite a number of incidents involving factory fires, collapse and faulty
/malfunctioning equipment killing hundreds at a time, workers continue to face these horrendous
conditions and treatment. This is a social justice issue as wealthy companies take advantage of
the desperation and vulnerability of those living in poverty. This results in unequal wealth, unfair
and immoral treatment of poor people, especially women who make up 85% of the workforce
and children, for which there are over 250 million aged 5 14 in the industry. For many, their hourly
wage is less than a dollar, with many not being payed at.

Deconstructing of Forest and Woodland
Introduction
The definitions for the words forest and woodland are heterogeneous around the world and are
circumscribed to each countryВґs structural stands in local eco regions.
Countries as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, India, Japan, Mexico or US, with a great
diversity of climates and soil conditions attributable to their large land extensions and altitude
gradients (Borja Jimenez et al. 2013), can be identified as territories with high variety of forests
and woodlands.
The great diversity and diffuse thresholds among ecosystems difficult construction of criteria for
their classification into inventories and application of management and conservation policies.
Box Fujiwara (2013) differentiate forests from woodlands: forest is an ecosystem dominated by tall
trees, in a closed structure (considered closed when tree crowns are touching) and woodland is an
ecosystem dominated by tall or short trees with an open distribution.
The etymology of both words has different meanings according to the language. In Chinese,
жЈ®жћ— (sД“nlГn), the first character, sД“n (also mori in Japanese) means tree , forest , dark ,
gloomy ; the second character, lГn, means forest , grove , thicket , wood . Differently, жћ—ењ°

forest . The word bosque in Spanish derives from the German word busch meaning bush , shrub ,
jungle . Different from English, in Spanish the terms

Glass Menagerie And Hamlet
The strongest issue that plagues the lives and consciences of people from any walk of life is
issue of what is more important: duty to family or duty to one s self. This conflict is present in
three plays: The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, A Doll House by Henrik Ibsen, and
Hamlet by William Shakespeare. The Glass Menagerie is a play that discusses the struggles of a
familydynamic and the decision to leave, or stay and build the family. In A Doll House, this drama
is set up to discuss the role of females in families and their reactions. Additionally, the conflictin

Likewise, the struggle of the main characters to choose whether they would abandon the family
unit or stay with it. This struggle is present in all the plays, as the characters need to make a
choice of which would be easier to live with. These plays have the characters discover their own
values as they go on their internal conflict to help their family or themselves. Moreover, the
major discrepancy that occurs in making this decision is the difference in both of these choices.
Hamlet was a strong example of this conflict as Hamlet struggled to see the line between which
actions were unforgivable for family members. Nora had to learn the difference in her life as
she could not see whether she was helping her family or doing a disservice to herself in A Doll
House. Additionally, Tom knew, in The Glass Menagerie, that he needed to decide whether he
was going to leave his sister because he could not support her. All of these examples drive this
theory that the duty to one s self is more powerful than helping one s family. These conflicts all
caused moral dilemmas for the characters as this decision did not come easy. The duty to one s
self, however, won out because this cause was more valuable and promising for the characters.
These issues drove the plays as they forced the characters to choose what is more

The Challenges Of Adversity And Diversity In The Workplace
In recent years, diversity and inclusion have emerged as an essential business practice. Why are
diversity and inclusion so critical to organizations nowadays? Do they really help organizations
achieve better results? Why is it a unique issue in the 21st century workplace? To answer these
questions, organizations should look into factors such as globalization. Globalization increases
interactions around the world and diversifies the profile of the workforce, which also contributes to
the changing composition of the current workforce. While globalization offers extensive
opportunities for organizations, it also imposes many challenges that require new responses.
Organizations are not only looking for ways to effectively manage a diverse workforce but also to
leverage it to achieve better outcomes. As diversity and inclusion gain more attention in the society,
more research has been done on their impact to organizations. Not too long ago, organizations
implemented diversity management initiatives, such as affirmative action and equal employment
legislations, just to fulfill their legal requirements (Jayne and Dipboye, 2004). However, diversity
and inclusion have since then become a business imperative. Are diversity and inclusion the same?
They seem to go hand in hand, but they are actually two different notions that need to be addressed
separately. While diversity recognizes that each individual is different from one and another, and
that such differences must be

cost effective for these companies due to the significantly lower labor costs, the ability to better

United States. This drastic cut of expenses makes it much easier for businesses to charge less for
their products due to the large profit margin. Furthermore, some of these underdeveloped nations
need more jobs coming into the country to help boost their economy. Although international

crime solving techniques and emphasized the use of surveillance to follow suspected criminals.
Many believe Hoover s greatest accomplishment was becoming the first director of the FBI;
however, his most significant feat is how he molded the FBI into an effective organization that
during Hoover s lifetime operated without the supervision of the branches of government.
Hoover was born and raised in Washington D.C and had a relatively normal childhood. Hoover
was born on January 1, 1895, and raised by Dickerson Hoover and Annie Hoover (Biography).
Being raised in Washington D.C played a significant role in Hoover s life as his parents worked
for the government and were exposed to politics at a young age. Being raised close to the nation
s capital influenced Hoover to major in law as he saw the opportunities that were available for
elected officials. It is possible that if Hoover did not major in law, he would not have pursued
politics thus, never becoming the first director of the FBI. Hoover eventually joined the training
corps program and continued to refute social norms. More specifically, Hoover joined the Reserve
Officers Training Corps and was vocal in supporting women s rights (Biography). This is
important as joining the Officers Training Corps allowed him to develop leadership abilities that he
would eventually apply when leading the FBI. HooverВґs willingness to change a precedent will be
vital to forming the FBI as Hoover applied new methods on a large scale which made people
question his reliability as the first director. Hoover chose to study law in order to be able to enter
politics. More specifically, In 1916, he gained his Bachelor degree in Law...Following year, he
attained a Master s degree in Law from the University. (Biography) HooverВґs law degree enabled
him to join the Department of Justice and was assigned to the War Emergency Board. HooverВґs
accomplishments eventually lead to him working under Mitchell

Paradigm Shift Anthropology
Marshall Sahlins has a quote that we stand on the shoulders of giants to shit on their heads
reflects the idea of paradigm shift. The shoulders personify the collective knowledge of those
researchers before us, as students it is where we gain our information. It is not through our own
work that we initially study our respective fields; we study the accumulation of work that those
giants have codified. The shit represents new ideas, criticism, and reworking of the previously held
beliefs. The constant questioning of beliefs, seeking new answers is an intrinsic feature of
scientific inquiry. This holds true not only in the hard sciences but in the social sciences as well,
some may say to an even greater extent, due to the nature of the... Show more content on

Boas reliance on empirical data to formulate theories underscores Kuhn s central idea that
paradigms are only changed through examination of new data. As data on cultures preceding Boas
was slim at best, it is not hard to see how Boas could acquire data contrary to the existing viewpoint.
This data collection itself was a new theory, the new invention required. Kuhnian thought states that
preparadigmatic schools emphasize the collection of the facts, as Boas was emphasizing. Crisis
within the paradigm is witnessed by the competition between the schools of thought. Emerging
from this crisis is Boasian anthropology, with its reliance on empirical data as the basis for study.
This data collection is subdivided into the four subfields Boas saw as a requirement for this new
field. The four field approach emerges as the dominant force in anthropology. With this approach
the community changes its view of the field, and produces new methods and goals. These
methods and goals have been used as a professional consensus in anthropology since the Boasian
transformation. It may be argued that the Boasian example is not indicative of a paradigm shift, as
anthropology itself was too new a field to have a consensus. Whether or not the data gathered
resulted from anomalies in his working paradigm is a consideration. Boas does appear to have
stepped outside the bounds of the paradigm from the start, never attempting to fit his data into the
existing evolutionary

Eight Weeks that Changed My Life
Deciding to go back to college was simple, just a few years of some college classes and I would
have that ever elusive Bachelor s degree my first eight weeks of college, not as simple! Learning the
materials taught in my courses has not only provided me with information about leadership,
organizations and information technology, it has taught me so much about myself that I am
changing my degree and career goals in order to find a career path that focuses on my strengths in
leadership, communication and problem solving.

Taking and researching the Meyers Briggs personality test has absolutely changed my life in many
ways. Most drastically is the shift I have made from pursuing a Management Information Sciences
and Business Analytics Degree, to a Business Management with HR specialization degree.
I have always been highly driven by aspiration and very eager to realize it, however I never had
the ability to identify the strategy for accomplishing my success (Krishna, 2014). Working inside
the Career Center and exploring the tools provided to me provides, perhaps for the first time in my
life, the tools necessary to become successful. Throughout my life, my careers have been based on
what was offered to me, instead of what I was seeking. Understanding that as an ENTP I am able to
adapt to most situations, quickly master new concepts and all while building meaningful
relationships, helped me to see that just because I am really good at a particular task does not
mean I should do it as a full time career. The boredom I will inevitably experience along with the
day to day detailed tasked that will pile up may cause me to lose focus and eliminate me from
being as successful as possible. As long as I stay honest with myself about my strengths and
weaknesses, instead of trying to handle everything, I will thrive in any career that is in need of a
new way of thinking (16 Personalities, 2015).

an adverse employment action; under circumstances giving rise to an inference of discrimination
Ms. Houston claims that she was fired because of her age. Ms. Houston is 55 years old,
therefore she belongs to a protected class under the ADEA (see O connor). According to the

Home Ownership vs. Renting an Apartment
Why Renting is the Convenient Decision Home Ownership versus Renting an Apartment

LaToya Johnson
The American dream is to own your own home. For some this could be an impossible task to
tackle. For others becoming a home owner is as easy as 123. Then there is the select few who
prefer to rent over becoming a home owner. If you were to think of the differences between the
two options, you might change your mind. Whether you prefer to be a home owner versus a renter,
or vice versa, taking a look at the other option might change your mind. Many people would believe
that owning your own home is incomparable to renting; ultimately that decision could be
determined by an individual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would not be a good idea for young adults to start off with a big responsibility, and not be able to
fulfill it. Things changes during this time in someone s life, and because owning your own home is
a large commitment. It just makes more sense to start off with renting. Typically when renting an
apartment or house, there is much less responsibility. Depending on whether or not the place is
furnished, you could possibility not have to furnish your place. Usually though the appliances are
included when renting an apartment, but typically not a house. A renter is not responsible for
making any repairs to the home, or the property. Another thing that is not included when renting
is the property taxes or house insurance [ (McCay amp; Hawks, 2002.) ] A renter though must
have Renter s Insurance to cover any damages that are made to the renter s own property [
(McCay amp; Hawks, 2002.) ] These two things could be very costly to a home owner. Of course
you are responsible for renter s insurance, but it is usually cheaper than home owner s insurance.
When you are home owner the amount of responsibility could be overwhelming for some
people. Especially if you are a first time home owner, and have been renting since you moved out
of Mom and Dad s place. So now, you must decide if renting or owning your home is the right
decision for you. You cannot make a serious decision just to keep up with

economy towards sustainability in the last five years. Walmart s 2011 Global Responsibility
Report, published last week, makes clear that despite the recession and some recently rough
going for the company lately its stock has lagged the S P500 Walmart is pushing ahead towards
its big goals: To generate no waste, to be 100 percent powered by renewable energy and to sell
lots more products that sustain people and the environment. Yet a closer look at the report
demonstrates that there are limits to what any company, even one as vast as Walmart, can do.
Most of its environmental gains have come from doing what Walmart has always done very well
driving efficiency in its stores and supply chain. When sustainable initiatives cost more money, as
they sometimes do, progress has been halting. Still, Walmart deserves at least two cheers, maybe
two and half for its efforts, particularly in the current, dispiriting political climate. As Elizabeth
Sturcken of the Environmental Defense Fund, which works closely with Walmart, told me:
Leadership on environmental issues is coming from Bentonville these days, not from Washington.
Some people in Washington want to roll back basic environmental protection on clean air and
clean water, saying it s bad for business. Our work with Walmart proves that s not true ...
Generally, all the signs that I see are full speed ahead. Andrea Thomas, who has led Walmart s
sustainability work for the past six months, made a

Edgar Allan Poe s The Black Cat
He doesn t know what to do. He s going crazy and can t control himself. He needs help. Can
anyone stop him? In The Black Cat, Edgar Allan Poe shows the narrator s perverseness that takes
over the character s mind which leads him to making the wrong decisions. The main character
drinks too much to the point where he cuts out one of his cat s eye. After hanging it, another cat
appears and acts like the first one which annoyed him to the point where his anger and
perverseness is out of control causing him to attempt to murder his cat not only failing but killing
his wife instead. Poe uses symbolism, irony, and simile to reveal that the main character s
perverseness is getting in the way of letting him make the right decisions. He uses... Show more

The spirit of perverseness continued to take control of the narrator s brain causing him to abuse
his pets and wife when he knows he shouldn t be doing it and it s wrong. He does it anyways
because he doesn t control the perverseness inside of him telling his mind to do it. It explains the
quote because the perverseness that he has inside of him is getting out of hand and controlling
him. He doesn t put a stop to it so he s doing the actions he knows he shouldn t be doing in the
first place. It shows that not just alcohol but other stuff like your feelings and emotions can take
over your mind telling you to do this and do that even when you know you shouldn t be doing it in
the first place but still does it anyways. He uses irony which occurs when reality doesn t meet
expectations because when reading a story, you don t expect the worse to happen. Poe uses irony to
show that the perverseness grew worse when he ignored it and thought that he was fine. The
narrator seems completely normal on the outside, but on the inside he is getting controlled by the
Demon Alcohol. This anger is being kept in and not being let out until something triggers the anger
and releases it. One night, the character comes home drunk thinking that the cat, Pluto is ignoring
him. He grabbed the cat, frightening it causing the cat to nip at his hand, and cut one of his eyes out
from its socket. After hanging the cat, another cat that looks similar to

Can You Be Honest With Your Friends
My sister is a person whom one might define as socially awkward. While neither of us possess
the gift of tact, I have become slightly more adept a maneuvering unfamiliar social situations,
whereas she avoids them wherever and whenever possible. We both have the same handicap: that
being that we don t possess a filter. Whereas most people know that it constitutes poor manners to
point out a hanger from a perfect stranger s nose, we feel it is our civic duty to not only bring
attention to the offensive item, but to introduce it to any other would be spectator and random

The Road By Cormac Mccarthy
In Cormac McCarthy s The Road, the father presents to the reader three distinct characteristics that
shapes his personality through novel. When the man mentions of carrying the fire to his son,
meaning that his son carries the load of civilization, compassion, and sympathy, the father
expresses multiple times that he lives for his son, and only for his son. The world of The Road is a
complete anarchy, and the mandisplays extensive amounts of bravery while trying to face the
struggles and hardships that is presented to them. Whether the challenge is to be hiding from
cannibals, or wandering into dangerous abandon houses, the man always exhibits ample
amounts of bravery. Even though the man s son is born into the disheveled and chaotic world
and experiences nothing else before, the boy s sense of right and wrong came from his father.
The man constantly influences his son by telling him that they are the good and guys: Look at
me, the man said. He turned and looked. He looked like he d been crying. Just tell me. We
wouldn t ever eat anybody, would we? No. Of course not. Even if we were starving?... But we
wouldn t. No. We wouldn t No matter what? No. No matter what. Because were the good guys.
Yes. And we re carrying the fire? And we re carrying the fire. Yes. (McCarthy 195) . The exchange
of the dialogue here between the man and his son shows how the man has shaped his son with a
compass of separation between good and bad. Although the man believes his son learns this

Plato, a famous philosopher, says, Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything ( A Quote ). Rock n roll is a form of music that has made many opportunities possible for the American people. This category of music has also opened doors for future generations and America s evolution. Rock n roll in American culture has been beneficial in the progression of life styles because it has advanced the relationship between music and technology, created distinct social changes in cultures and adolescents, and formed new inspirational music genres. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rock n roll was an outlet that put aside the separation and began to include all ethnicities because of similar feelings and ideas that everyone experienced through the music. This category of music included subcategories that molded into what it became known as today. The origins of rock n roll come from African American musical styles such as blues, jazz, and gospel and traditional white musical styles like country and western swing (Howitt). These combinations of music provided a new social change and an acceptance of other cultures. In this photo to the left and above, Chubby Checker, an American singer songwriter, is dancing the twist which was a popularized dance style that went beyond the normal, modest moves during this time (Hammond). The photo shows the environment of integrated ethnicities that enjoy the same music, dance, and life style. Rock n roll helped this generation realize the importance of working similar minds together without the difference of race. New life styles emerged because of the rock n roll scene like the creation of this music genre and the rebellious dancing that came with it in attempt to show the conservative figures that everyone should express themselves no matter what ... • 6. Stella Artois s Market Entry Strategy Stella Artois, informally called Stella, is a pilsner beer between 4.8 and 5.2% ABV. It is a beer brand from Belgium and it also brewed in other locations. Stella Artois is one of the prominent brands of Anheuser Busch InBev, the world s largest brewer. Stella Artois has its own Pouring Ritual and iconic serving chalice and it is savoured in 95 countries as a complement to elegant events and fine dining (ABInBev, 2014). The first point will be discussed is Stella Artoiss market entry strategy. As same as other international companies, Stella Artois also uses acquisition strategy to expand its market. As InBev attempted to maximise its product portfolio by launching its leading brands into new markets, Stella Artois was launched as a premium product in Latin America (Passport, 2005). China is the key focus of Stella Artois s efforts to generate growth. The 2014 acquisition helped the company make the fastest growing top 10 player in the market (ABInBev, 2015). The acquisition also served to strengthen its position in economy larger and enhanced the company s production and distribution infrastructure in the market. The second point being analyzed is Stella Artois s marketingstrategy. First of all, the packaging strategy of Stella Artois will be analysed. The packaging of Stella Artois has evolved over time. However, the mandate on the design has not change. All packaging must be supreme quality and worth (Stella Artois, 2004). Stella Artois packaging always exclusive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. How Tuition Fees Deter The Attendance Essay Increased enrollment and a decreased fiscal focus by governments on post secondary education has led to the ongoing inflation of tuition rates in Canada. By comparing countries with exorbitantly high tuition rates and countries with free education, the efficacy of the Canadian system can be studied. This paper will explore how tuition fees deter the attendance to university by low income and international students, and address the need to restructure our economically outdated post secondary system. Post secondary education is highly valued in Canada. Statistics Canada (2016) recorded that 64.1% of Canadians between the ages of 25 to 64 possess some form of post secondary education, a percentage that has been steadily increasing throughout the years. However, this influx in enrollment for higher education has greatly affected the way in which public institutions are funded. Historically, Canadian colleges have been funded largely through federal and provincial government grants, yet following the recession in the 1970s, funding was seriously impacted as the government was forced to focus their fiscal funding in higher priority areas (Jones, 2014). In addition, health and education were grouped together in federal allowances to the provincial government in 1995, resulting in more than 4.5 billion dollars between 1995 and 1997 (Fisher, et al, 2006). This forced provincial governments to reevaluate and reform their systems, with many provinces choosing to decrease funding to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Toad Revisited Larkin This poem is Larkin s monologue about work. Larking walks through a park and even though he finds it an appealing and pleasurable sight, he would rather like to keep himself busy with work. He does not want to be lazy like the people at the park but would rather like to perform his duties meticulously so that when he dies he can have the satisfaction of having worked so hard. Toad Revisited is Larkin s mental debate in which he weighs the advantages and disadvantages of work and of leisure; and comes to the definite conclusion that work is preferable to sloth or to leisure unlike the people around him. Toad work refers to the easy work that people do that does not need much intelligence or skills. Their jobs are easy which therefore, in Larkin s view, makes them lazy. He is the opposite of these people as he is intelligent and educated which is why he needs a break and walks through the park unlike the rest of them.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Work, which the people he sees in the park avoid by being lazy. He is saying, although work is still unpleasant (like a toad), it is something that gives him a sense of purpose. It s something that will help him in life and he will do it until the end of his life. He has accepted the fact that working for him is preferable to not working, and he actually asks the toad (work) to help him through the rest of his life as he walks down Cemetery road, which is a place of death. Larkin means he is going to work at his current job that he might not necessarily like until he dies, which gives us a sense that he is at ease with doing so he sees that the alternative is far worse (the alternative being the people at the park). There is therefore an acceptance of the toad work as being not only necessary but also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Calotype, or Talbotype process, was first invented by Talbot in September of 1840 and declared official five months later. Research explains that the calotype s flexibility allowed photographers to manipulate the image before a pint was produced and its visual softness neutralizes singular detail in favor of the universal. In fact, he stated in that same interview, I don t take any stock in this silly nonsense about working for anybody but our own. The idea of the federal government acquiring the railroads would not appeal to this attitude nor would it find support in any region of his company. I was unable to document a significant difference in the types of commercials shown during these programs in order to have much of a comparison, but there was enough alike about them to dissect them and really figure out the methods which broadcasting companies use in order to attract their buyers and consumers. For every television channel I have ever watched throughout my life the commercials have always been significantly louder than the actual show I am viewing; not just for these two channels, but I did notice it more when actually having to pay attention. Why does this annoying thing constantly happen every channel I choose to watch? The answer to this question: marketing purposes. It is in the companies best interest on becoming successful with the product they are attempting to sell by turning the volume up on their commercials louder than the actual television show because it attracts the viewers and manipulates them in to paying attention to them. Military Planning For The First Time During World War II Since the Cold War, scholars utilizing a military and state centric approach to the study of regime security such as Paul Williams, Joseph Nye and Sean Lynn Jones, and Stephen Walt have made significant contributions to the literature on security studies. While these authors present unique viewpoints, they all tend share the perspective that major international conflict has been a key factor in the development of this field. Stephen Walt pointed out that the idea of securitystudies first emerged as a result of civilians becom[ing] extensively involved in military planning for the first time during World War II. This surge in civilian interest during the war led to an era of security studies known as the Golden Age during which Paul Williams indicated that civilian strategists enjoyed relatively close connections with Western governments and their foreign and security policies. The enthusiasm for this area of study was maintained for a substantial amount of time due to what Joseph Nye called the unprecedented nature of security problems confronting the United States, which were mostly brought about by the advent of the atomic age. Several forces however, would eventually counteract the uptick in interest; principle among them was the negative perception of the Vietnam War. Walt highlighted this idea stating the debacle in Indochina ... made the study of security affairs unfashionable in many universities. Fortunately for the progression of the field, this ... • 25. The Theory Of Purchasing Power Parity David Ricardo came up with the theory of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). PPP is an economic technique used to estimate the level of adjustment needed to arrive at an agreed exchange rate between two currencies in order that trade can effectively take place. When the price of two commodities from two different countries is converted into one currency, the price of both commodities should be the same. One way of determining the inter currency exchange rates is to carry out a PPP test. This test will also help to prevent commodity traders from buying cheaply and selling at significantly higher rates. The basic measure of PPP is the law of one price: Pi=EiP*i, where Ei is the exchange rate, Pi = log (CPI of the domestic country), and P*i= log (CPI of the foreign country). The equation means that the good i should have same price when the exchange rate is applied to it. This is because there is an arbitrage in exporting goods from the country that has a low price to a country that has a high price. In the long term, prices when converted into the same currency at market exchange rates , should be equal across economically integrated countries . (Voinea: 2013, p.6) There are two ways to measure PPP. The first one is Absolute PPP (APPP) which states that the exchange rate between two countries should be equal to the price of a basket of items in two countries due to arbitrage, i.e. ∑⠖’p_i=E∑⠖’p_i^* , where E is the exchange rate. The second measure is Relative PPP (RPPP) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. John Edgar Hoover Contributions Largely due to John Edgar Hoover s contribution, the Federal Bureau of Investigation today is acknowledged for its organized crime fighting force. As the first director of the FBI, Hoover s guidance was vital in shaping the Bureau s image as he integrated technology with modern crime solving techniques and emphasized the use of surveillance to follow suspected criminals. Many believe Hoover s greatest accomplishment was becoming the first director of the FBI; however, his most significant feat is how he molded the FBI into an effective organization that during Hoover s lifetime operated without the supervision of the branches of government. Hoover was born and raised in Washington D.C and had a relatively normal childhood. Hoover was born on January 1, 1895, and raised by Dickerson Hoover and Annie Hoover (Biography). Being raised in Washington D.C played a significant role in Hoover s life as his parents worked for the government and were exposed to politics at a young age. Being raised close to the nation s capital influenced Hoover to major in law as he saw the opportunities that were available for elected officials. It is possible that if Hoover did not major in law, he would not have pursued politics thus, never becoming the first director of the FBI. Hoover eventually joined the training corps program and continued to refute social norms. More specifically, Hoover joined the Reserve Officers Training Corps and was vocal in supporting women s rights (Biography). This is important as joining the Officers Training Corps allowed him to develop leadership abilities that he would eventually apply when leading the FBI. HooverВґs willingness to change a precedent will be vital to forming the FBI as Hoover applied new methods on a large scale which made people question his reliability as the first director. Hoover chose to study law in order to be able to enter politics. More specifically, In 1916, he gained his Bachelor degree in Law...Following year, he attained a Master s degree in Law from the University. The shoulders personify the collective knowledge of those researchers before us, as students it is where we gain our information. It is not through our own work that we initially study our respective fields; we study the accumulation of work that those giants have codified. The shit represents new ideas, criticism, and reworking of the previously held beliefs. The constant questioning of beliefs, seeking new answers is an intrinsic feature of scientific inquiry. Boas reliance on empirical data to formulate theories underscores Kuhn s central idea that paradigms are only changed through examination of new data. As data on cultures preceding Boas was slim at best, it is not hard to see how Boas could acquire data contrary to the existing viewpoint. This data collection itself was a new theory, the new invention required. Kuhnian thought states that preparadigmatic schools emphasize the collection of the facts, as Boas was emphasizing. Crisis within the paradigm is witnessed by the competition between the schools of thought. Emerging from this crisis is Boasian anthropology, with its reliance on empirical data as the basis for study. This data collection is subdivided into the four subfields Boas saw as a requirement for this new field. The four field approach emerges as the dominant force in anthropology. With this approach the community changes its view of the field, and produces new methods and goals. These methods and goals have been used as a professional consensus in anthropology since the Boasian transformation. It may be argued that the Boasian example is not indicative of a paradigm shift, as anthropology itself was too new a field to have a consensus. Whether or not the data gathered resulted from anomalies in his working paradigm is a consideration. Boas does appear to have stepped outside the bounds of the paradigm from the start, never attempting to fit his data into the existing evolutionary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It would not be a good idea for young adults to start off with a big responsibility, and not be able to fulfill it. Things changes during this time in someone s life, and because owning your own home is a large commitment. It just makes more sense to start off with renting. Typically when renting an apartment or house, there is much less responsibility. Depending on whether or not the place is furnished, you could possibility not have to furnish your place. Usually though the appliances are included when renting an apartment, but typically not a house. A renter is not responsible for making any repairs to the home, or the property. Another thing that is not included when renting is the property taxes or house insurance [ (McCay amp; Hawks, 2002.) ] A renter though must have Renter s Insurance to cover any damages that are made to the renter s own property [ (McCay amp; Hawks, 2002.) ] These two things could be very costly to a home owner. Of course you are responsible for renter s insurance, but it is usually cheaper than home owner s insurance. It explains the quote because the perverseness that he has inside of him is getting out of hand and controlling him. He doesn t put a stop to it so he s doing the actions he knows he shouldn t be doing in the first place. It shows that not just alcohol but other stuff like your feelings and emotions can take over your mind telling you to do this and do that even when you know you shouldn t be doing it in the first place but still does it anyways. He uses irony which occurs when reality doesn t meet expectations because when reading a story, you don t expect the worse to happen. Poe uses irony to show that the perverseness grew worse when he ignored it and thought that he was fine. The narrator seems completely normal on the outside, but on the inside he is getting controlled by the Demon Alcohol. This anger is being kept in and not being let out until something triggers the anger and releases it. One night, the character comes home drunk thinking that the cat, Pluto is ignoring him. When the man mentions of carrying the fire to his son, meaning that his son carries the load of civilization, compassion, and sympathy, the father expresses multiple times that he lives for his son, and only for his son. The world of The Road is a complete anarchy, and the mandisplays extensive amounts of bravery while trying to face the struggles and hardships that is presented to them. Whether the challenge is to be hiding from cannibals, or wandering into dangerous abandon houses, the man always exhibits ample amounts of bravery. Even though the man s son is born into the disheveled and chaotic world and experiences nothing else before, the boy s sense of right and wrong came from his father.
