Antimicrobial Resistance
Introduction Since the beginning of the antibiotic error in the mid 20th century, antimicrobial
resistance has been recognized. The increased use of antimicrobial agents in the recent years has
resulted in the development of resistance to these drugs. Clinical threats have however been
minimized by the availability of newer agents (Bonomo Tolmasky 2007). The World Health
Organization (WHO) defines antimicrobial resistance as the resistance of a microorganism to an
antimicrobial medicine to which it was previously sensitive (WHO 2012). A variety of resistance
mechanisms have been developed by bacteria to counter the introduction of successive classes of
antibiotics. This has lead to heightened interest in the study of antimicrobial... Show more content

Gram negative bacteria on the other hand secret fewer enzymes into the medium and thus less
extracellular drug inactivation is observed with these organisms. Many gram positive bacteria
however do produce the enzyme not retain it in the periplasmic space. This way the drug is
inactive after it has diffused across the cell wall but before it binds to its target PBP (Alexey
1999). New Delhi Metallo О’ Lactamase (NDM 1) MBLs have been reported to increase in gram
negative organisms and have been mostly identified in the Pseudomonas spp. MBLs have the
ability to hydrolyze all ОІ lactams carbapenems included with exception of aztreonam. MBLs share
several common features, including significant carbapenemase activity, absence of activity against
monobactams like aztreonam and resistance to specific ОІ lactamase inhibitors such as the
clavulanic acid. The presence of carbapenemase activity has been typically most associated with
MBLs though it may occur in either serin or metallo ОІ lactamases. Frequently encountered MBL
type carbapenemases are the IMP type, VIM type and NDM 1 (Raghunath 2010). According to

Advantage And Disadvantages Of Renewable Energy Sources
1. Introduction
As fossil fuel runs out, the world is in search of an alternative means of generating electricity. This
dilemma is a worldwide concern and in the past few decades scientist have discovered many new,
renewable means of generating electricity. Examples of these renewable sources are hydro energy,
ocean energy, wind energy and solar energy. In order to fulfil in the worlds and South Africa s
excessive energy needs these renewable energy sources need to be implemented.
The purpose of this report is to introduce different types of renewable energy sources by giving a
short summary of each of the above mentioned sources and give a more detailed overview of solar
energy that is a source option for South Africa.
This report firstly gives an overview on renewable energy. Then it looks at four different sources as
options. Finally solar energy is discussed in more detail with advantages and disadvantages.
2. Renewable Energy Overview
Many countries rely greatly on energy producing sources like oil, coal and natural gas, including
South Africa. However fossil fuels like the above mentioned, are non renewable and will eventually
run out, become more expensive or too environmentally dangerous to continue using. In contrast to
theses scares energy sources, renewable energy sources such as wind, water, hydro and solar
energy are constantly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wind and hydro electrical power are the direct result of differential heating of the Earth surface
which leads to air moving about and precipitation forming as the air is lifted. Solar energy is the
direct conversion of sunlight using panels or collectors. Having this in mind it only makes sense to
implement solar energy as a basis in South Africa and to thereafter build upon that to apply other
renewable energies to South Africa.

Cyber Threats And Its Impact On The Past Year
Intro In an age of rapidly expanding data and highly skilled threat actors, technological
advancements present the urgent duality of major opportunity and critical risk. A universities data
is integral to both, and a critical asset that differentiates organizations. While it is impractical to
completely keep it locked down and yet open, it is use can threaten the organization s existence.
Therefore, the challenge for IT team security leaders is striking a delicate balance being security
aware and remaining business driven. The human and technological aspects of cyber threats
changed dramatically in the past year. Witnessing innovative techniques blended with the
outmoded, resulting in highly evasive attacks. Recently we have seen sizeable business,
corporations, governmental agencies, and banking institutions, which we perceive as extremely
secure, broken into. Vulnerabilities, uncovered by hackers who in turn exploit them in out of date
infrastructure standards and developments such as the Internet of Things (IoT) have emerged to
present an entirely new set of infrastructure challenges. Hackers continue to develop novel methods
to breach the security of the institutions they target. These methods are increasingly more
sophisticated and difficult to detect with the tools and programs designed to detect attacks and
intrusions. In addition, with this increasing amount of threats, fresh ideas and methods continually
develop to prevent further

A Study Of Non Invasive Measurement Techniques
Abstract Diabetes is considered to be one of the major health care epidemics of modern era. The
determination of blood glucose concentration using the self monitoring blood glucose devices
involves the chemical analysis of blood samples taken by pricking the finger or extracting blood
from forearm. The pain, discomfort and inconvenience in the current invasive method have led to
the feasibility study of non invasive measurement techniques.
In this paper, an optical method using NIR technique based on occlusion spectroscopy is used which
shows that it can be possible to measure glucose concentration in blood non invasively.
Keywords: Non invasive, spectroscopy, euglycemia, hypoglycaemia.
By using the Monte Carlo method, Katsuhiko et al. (2003) has developed a non invasive system
using near infrared [4]. To detect the glucose level, fibre optic probes was developed that consist of
a source and detector optical fibres. Both source and detector are separated by 0.65 mm, placed on
the skin surface. They reported that the correlation coefficient of blood glucose predicted by near
infrared and finger prick was 0.928 with a standard error of prediction of 32.2 mg/dL [4]. Another
research based on near infrared has been done by Ilan Gabriely, MD et al. (1999) [5].
They were using transcutaneous near infrared spectroscopy system to monitor blood glucose levels
during euglycemia and hypoglycaemia. The results proved that near infrared can be used to predict
the glucose levels in

Who Is Joseph Wright s An Experiment On A Bird In The Air...
It was in one of the full moon night did the experiment take place. Not only do the soft light coming
from the moon together with the bright light from the candle describe even the details of the facial
expressions, they also create a great contrasting with the shadow. Joseph Wright was a well known
artist with his proficiency in painting with high contrast between the lightand the dark. Wright had
a lot of paintings related to scientific experiments within the 18th century, and An Experiment on a
Bird in the Air Pump, which was done in 1768, is definitely one of them. At the first glance, it can
be seen that the people, who are the members of the Lunar Society, are doing the air pumping
experiment on a bird, which is believed to be a pet of the two little girls. Although scientific... Show

This great painting seems to be alive with the tensions and the excitements of its historical
moment (Glover). The painting successfully describes the differences between the facial
expressions of the youngest and the eldest appearing in the painting. The cockatoo is said to be
the pet of the young girls, which explains why the older girl use her hand to hide her face and
refuse to look at it while the young girl s expression tends to be upset, however, she is either
curious to look at the experiment or just look at the direction of the man tells her to. What
exactly is this drama? A scientific experiment is being staged. A bird is suffering inside a glass
chamber. In fact, it has fallen into a dead faint. It may even be on the point of death (Glover).
The air pump is supposed to work like a vacuum, which will take away the air inside the glass
and makes the bird not to be able to breathe. It is undeniable that the experiment is to discover the
work of a vacuum, however, the use of the bird and makes it unable to breathe and may lead to
death is definitely not worth

My Love Of Love And Love In My Life
In my life, I have always tried to find things that make my life more joyful and peaceful, and
there really are three things that I can think of to best illustrate my love for peace and joy. The
first is the willow sapling that, to me, represents the joy of my childhood. The second is the
guitar that I first learned to play on, that represents my love of music and the peace that I get
from it. The third is the postcard I brought back from New Zealand that represents my love of
travel and adventure and the joy that it brings me. These things are the most important to me
because they remind me to always seek joy and peace in my life.
The first of three items that are most impactful in my life is the willow sapling we used to play with
as kids. Somewhere, lying on mossy green stones along the ruby river in Montana is a sprig of
willow, if it is not gone by now. A long time ago, way back when my family and I used to visit
our cousin s ranch, my sister, my cousins, and I would all go down to where small, rocky
covered in young willow trees islands sprung out of the ruby river, separated by thin sheet sheets
of quickly flowing icy cold water. We would divide up the islands and resources, then get into
teams of two. My sister and I would always inevitably end up paired together, which didn t bother
me, but she clearly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Pamela Anderson And The Peta Symbolism
Although going vegetarian is great for your body health a harsh advisement is not. The Peta

Anderson in a bikini with a body diagram of her body parts. The company Peta promoted there go

animal with labels of different cuts of meaton her body parts. The advisement is unacceptable
because of the labeling on her body like she an animal, the statement Peta made saying All animals

The Truth Behind The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock Essay
The Truth Behind The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock
The Truth Behind The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock The speaker of this ironic monologue is a
modern man who, like many of his kind, feels isolated and incapable of decisive action. Irony is
apparent from the title, for this is not a conventional love song. Prufrock would like to speak of
love to a woman, but he does not have the nerve. The poem opens with a quoted passage from
Dante s INFERNO, If I thought that my reply would be to one who would ever return to the world,
this flame would stay without further movement; but since none has ever returned alive from this
depth, if what I hear is true, I answer you without fear of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This night gives Prufrock the idea that he is now able to talk to women; however he is never
able to make her understand his true feelings. In his conversations, Purfrock can never push pass
polite conversation for the fear of rejection. He also feels he has plenty of time because in line
23 he states And indeed there will be time meaning he doesn t have to jump with both feet in, it
will happen eventually. Prufrock knew all of these people well, and he struggled with the
thought that if he did advance past polite conversation that he would disrupt his circle of friends.
This can be seen in lines 44 and 45, when he states, Do I dare/Disturb the universe. This internal
conflict continues into line 70, where he starts to prepare a love speech for a particular woman
and then basically says he should have been born a crab instead of a human who has to ask for
love instead of taking it. The verse states Shall I say, I have gone at dusk through narrow streets
And watched the smoke that rises from the pipes Of lonely men in shirt sleeves, leaning out of
windows? I should have been a pair of ragged claws Scuttling across

Root Cellar Theodore Roethke Analysis
Theodore Roethke s poem Root Cellar has one stanza, and eleven lines total. Upon first reading
the title, I admit that it doesn t strike me as very original. This poem can very well be a
description of the author s cellar; a snapshot of an event being held in said cellar. The author
begins with telling us that nothing would sleep in [the] cellar . At first I pondered why the
author would put that part in at the very beginning, but as I read on I found that the beginning
was the correct placement; it pulled the reader (me) in, and had me asking, Why wouldn t
anything sleep down there? Was it hot? Musty? Dark? The author describes the cellar as dark, and
uses similes, dank as a ditch and, roots ripe as old bait to describe the... Show more content on

They then go on to describe the rotting roots, the decomposing leaves, the lime, etc. to further
the feeling of disgust when one thinks of such a place. The last two lines threw me for a loop
however. Nothing would give up life: Even the dirt kept breathing a small breath. Suddenly, my
thoughts of disgust transformed to more positive ones. Instead of thinking, Why would anyone
allow something to become so disgusting? , I think about how the leaves and the roots refused
to go away. The shoots continued to hang, low and in the way; the leaves and roots continued to
make their presence known by giving off the strong smell of decomposing matter. After reading
the poem, I m still not 100% sure on what the theme is. There was a shift from negative to
positive in the last three lines, and lots of imagery. Even then the poem still comes across as
abstract and slightly vague. The author could be describing their life; maybe the run down cellar
and decaying roots are representations of an unhappy or dysfunctional childhood. Maybe, in
writing this, they are accepting that those memories will never go away, but they don t define who
they are. Or maybe the author is describing a time when they went to get something from their
cellar, and realized how disgusting it was. As always, it s whatever the reader wants it to

The Effect Of Reflex On Children s Health
Introduction:
Reflex can defined as an automatic and often inborn response to a stimulus that involves a nerve
impulse passing inward from a receptor to a nerve center and thence outward to an effector (as a
muscle or gland) without reaching the level of consciousness (Merriam Webster) or more simply
put an reaction to an action that our bodies do to return to homeostasis without us having to think
about it. Reflexes play an extremely important role in remaining healthy and protecting us from
being harmed without having to take the time to think about it. For example, infants have a suck
reflex that causes them to start sucking when the roof of their mouths are stimulated; this reflex
is obviously important because if infants did not have this reflex, they could die of starvation
since they would not be able to draw milk from their mother s breast (this is actually a problem
with premature infants as the suck reflex does not develop until between the 32nd and 36th week
of pregnancy) (Stanford Children s Health). There are two main types of reflexes the simpler
monosynaptic reflexes (or spinal reflexes) that can act without any input from the brain and the
more complex superficial reflexes which still requiring some processing from the brain. A reflex
consists of five main components, which as a group are called the reflex arc. Component one is the
sensory receptor, which receives stimulus and then sends an and impulse to the second component,
the afferent pathway. The

Women s Suffrage Essay
Women s Suffrage
At the turn of the twentieth century, the ideal British woman in Great Britain was to maintain a
demure manner, a composed façade. A delicate disposition with a distain for all things violent and
vulgar. However, by this point in time, an increasing number of women were becoming ever more
frustrated with their suppressed position in society. Women eventually went to extreme, militant
measures to gain rights, especially to gain women the right to vote. Although this controversy in the
short term could perhaps be seen to delay the implementation of women s suffrage, combined with
the rest of their campaigning, the respect they received during World War 1 and the political
situation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Later, in 1897, led by Millicent Garrett Fawcett, the National Union of Women s Suffrage
Societies was set up. The NUWSS restricted itself to peaceful methods. Their morals and beliefs
were to change other aspects of women s lives in education and social status then gain the vote once
these other targets had been achieved.
In 1906 one of the first major attempts for the enfranchisement of women was undertaken .A
gathering of more than 300 women, representing more than 125,000 suffragists nationwide,
reasoned for women s suffrage with Prime Minister Sir Henry Campbell Bannerman. He did not
disagree with the delegations argument, but was obliged to add that he proposed to do nothing at
all about it . Although he urged women to Keep on pestering .
As well as arguing with politicians to get their cause heard, women had devised many other forms
of persuasion. They used law abiding tactics and
started a massive campaign supporting the Liberal Party to get into power. Although the suffragists
knew that all the political parties were doubtful about votes for women, they felt that the Liberals
were most likely to grant them suffrage. The Liberals were the radicals of the time, believing in
equality for all (hopefully including women). Some Liberals hoped that by giving women the vote
the party would gain more votes in the future.

Symbolism In The Veldt By Ray Bradbury
Throughout the years, people think they have gained happiness from their materialistic things. In
this story, Ray Bradbury creates a family that are particularly wealthy through material possessions
and how they become dispersed through the possessions they own. However, in Ray Bradbury s
short story The Veldt he emphasizes that utilizing materialistic things can actually result in terrible
harm. Through the use of symbolism, irony, and foreshadowing, Ray Bradbury establishes the idea
that overindulging in materialistic possessions can result in grave consequences. Wendy and Peter
are wild, unruly children, and the African Veldt and its lions are mirroring the wildness of the
children within the wildness of the Veldt land. Bradbury... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bradbury shows that the family lives in a high tech house when he writes, ...this house which
clothed and fed and rocked them to sleep and played and sang and was good to them...
(Bradbury 1) which shows the house does almost anything for this family. The point of this
house was for the house to do all the work so that the time that the parents would be working
they could spend with their children. However, everything changed when the mother said, Maybe
I don t have enough to do. Maybe I have time to think too much. Why don t we shut the whole
house off for a few days and take a vacation? (Bradbury 4) which shows that the mother was
getting overwhelmed and feeling like she was completely useless. Once the mother feels this way
the parents decide to shut down the nursery which causes chaos between them and their children
when they say, They screamed and pranced and threw things. They yelled and sobbed and swore
and jumped at the furniture... (Bradbury 13) which shows that the family is actually being torn
apart because of house/veldt. Bradbury uses foreshadowing through images of bloody/ torn up
wallets and scarfs to hint the inevitable end result of the parents when they let their children go in
the veldt without any consequences towards the end of the story. In one part of the story The Veldt

Clinical Decision Support Systems
According to Tan Payton (2010), Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) are computer based
information processing and decision support tools intended to serve as aids in the rationalization of
the clinical decision making process and/or justifying final choices clinicians have advocated for
their patients (p. 125).

One time when he was king, he had an opportunity to really trust God. King Jehoshaphat

to the king. Their enemy had unexpectedly come to fight them. They were very close to the city.
The army was large and very powerful. The situation looked frightening for King Jehoshaphat
and his people. The first thing that Jehoshaphat did was to pray and ask God for help. He asked
all the people not to eat for the day. Instead, he asked them to pray and ask God for help.
Then, King Jehoshaphat stood in front of the people and prayed to God. He praised God for how
powerful and wonderful He was. He asked God to help them defeat this enemy. He told God that
they could not do anything without God s help. God heard King Jehoshaphat s prayer. God sent a

Atoms In Electrons
Atoms in Electrons Energy levels in Atoms exist all over the world. Some atoms consist of
protons and neutrons making up a nucleus; they are surrounded by electrons. Rutherford made

The electromagnetic spectrum. All types of electromagnetic energy travel through space as
waves. So, knowing what a wave is first, it is defined as the distance a wave travels as it
completes the cycle. That distance is measured in the appropriate pomegranate for length which
can vary from pedometers to kilometers. The frequency of a wave is the count of how many
cycles occur in a given period of time, and it is measured in hertz or in cycle per second. The
speed of a wave is the product of its wave length and frequency. Electromagnetic waves travel at a
constant speed, which is the speed of light through a vacuum. It follows through this relationship
between speed, frequency, and wavelength; that the wavelength is inversely proportional to the
frequency. This means that if all else is equal, then increasing the frequency of a wave will

Analysis Of The Dark Side Of The Eyes Of Man
Dashing through the luscious green undergrowth, the prey enters my vision. The animal evades me
entering through the cloudy mist. With the mugging humidity my skin begins to perspire. I roll up
my sleeves on my outgrown leather jacket up my arms with great difficulty. Reappearing into my
vision, I draw nearer to my prey. I swiftly draw back my bow and a burning sensation finds its way
into my muscles as the tension of the bowstring throughout my hunt increasingly menaces me.
Whizzing through the mistthe arrow strikes the unaware creature dead in between his deep blue
eyes. After I retrieve the arrow, I carefully bundle up my prize into my burlap sack.
Sharp piercing shouts, belonging to my elder brothers, blare throughout woods. Following the
sound of his voice, I navigate through the fog to find the source of clamor. I bumble past branches
as I awkwardly lug my game in my hefty bag. Upon finding them, Peter calls my attention to the
most majestic composition of nature ever beheld by the eyes of man. The Great Conductor s
glorious touch perfectly aligning all aspects of this spectacle. Radiant beams of light illuminate the
masterpiece. Beautifully detailed shrubbery outlines the painting. Warm, vibrant blue water
cascades off the carefully chiseled cliff and into a pond teeming with life and activity. The waters
of Eden left flawlessly untouched.
As I draw back out of my trance I can see the expressions of amazement written on the faces of my
brothers.

Stylisticism In The Swimmer Poem
The Liffey Swim is a painting capturing the annual Dublin river race. It cleverly depicts the
crowd gathered flowing out of the painting. This makes the viewer feel like they are a part of the
artwork and action that is taking place in the painting. The crowd leaning forward and the
passengers passing by on the tram trying to catch a glimpse of the race, bring the viewers eyes to
the three swimmers portrayed trying to see for themselves, what everyone is paying attention too.
Yeats captures the atmosphere and thrill of an event that has been part of Dublin s annual sporting
calendar since 1920 1. It is speculated that the character portrayed wearing the brown fedora is

They both portray people during important life events and memories. The most obvious difference
is the abandonment of realism and trying to portray the scenes truthfully. In the first painting, The
Liffey Swim, Yeats evidently tries to be precise and accurate and to depict the scene truthfully.
Yeats, in his early works, adopted Sickett s use of short thick strokes of paint and his manner of
correlating colour 2. The colours he used are very neutral, mostly browns, dark blues, muddy reds,
and dull yellows, with a contrasting light blue sky which brightens the painting. His use of warm
and cold colours creates unity and variety. His use of warm earthy colours in the foreground
creates unity. However, the contrast between the warm earthy colours in the foreground and the
cool blue colours in the background create variety. The waves in the water create a sense of
motion and are slightly more curved around the swimmers showing their impact on the movement
of the water. The people depicted leaning forward also create a sense of motion and action taking
place. This sense of movement directs the viewers eyes around the

Compare And Contrast How Magmas Are Generated At Mid-Ocean
COMPARE AND CONTRAST HOW MAGMAS ARE GENERATED AT MID OCEAN RIDGES
AND SUBDUCTION ZONES. According to Middlemost (1988) s basic definition, magma is a
heated rock forming substance that is created within a planet and exists only below Earth. When
magma escapes to the Earth s surface and is extruded, they are known as lavas. Grotzinger and
Jordan (2010) suggests that magma mainly comes from the asthenosphere the upper part of the
mantle. Magmas are usually generated when rocks are under the right temperature and pressure
conditions to undergo partial melting (Grotzinger and Jordan, 2010). At high temperatures and low
enough pressures, rocks would reach its melting point easily. It is known for a fact that temperature
increases with depth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Subduction zone magmas are formed by convergent plate boundaries between oceanic continental
plates or oceanic oceanic plates (at least one tectonic plate has to be oceanic) (see Fig.1).
According to Grotzinger and Jordan (2010), when the oceanic lithosphere gets subducted, there is
fluid induced melting occurring to the mantle wedge. Therefore, this generates magmas of varying
composition. From Prichard et al. s findings, mid ocean ridge magmas are usually basaltic in
composition whereas subduction zone magmas are andesitic and more silicic. Subduction zone
magma compositions also depend on the materials being subducted. Hence, in terms of chemical
composition, the subduction zone magmas and are definitely more varied compared to the mid
ocean ridge magmas. Subduction zone magmas range from basaltic to rhyolitic with andesitic
magmas being the most common (Grotzinger and Jordan, 2010). Fig.2 Geothermal gradient

Christmas Lights Negatives
Festive decorations are a huge part of the Holiday season, but they also take a huge toll on
Christmas budgets. In the United States, the average cost Americans will spend is over $465
billion on Christmas gifts, $3.2 billion on wrapping paper, and $6 billion on holiday decorations
such as, lights, trees, lawn decorations, etc. Everyone likes putting up lights at Christmason their
trees, around the house, on the roof, and any other, countless, creative things, and individual might
come up with. Our question, however, is whether a single strain of multi colored Christmas lights,
or a single strain of white Christmas lights can save you money on usage. Christmas lights are an
expense in their own, so is there a notable different the cost of multi colored, and white lights, for
you to consider?
In West Virginia alone, the average cost of electricity is 9.2 cents, per kilowatt hour. In the month of
October, the house used in this experiment ran on average energy consumption throughout the
whole month. The price of the used electricity was $206.71. To determine how much different
Christmas lights added on, we used white and multi colored lights, and measured with the EZ Kill
O Watt to calculate the cost of each set of lights, per month, and added it to the bill.
In this project, we hypothesize that the cost, per month, of the multi colored Christmas lights will
be more than white lights, because multi colored light bulbs are putting off different wattage to let

Euthanasia Essay
Assisted Suicide/Euthanasia
Remarkably, few have noticed that frail, elderly and terminally ill people oppose assisted suicide
more than other Americans. The assisted suicide agenda is moving forward chiefly with vocal
support from the young, the able bodied and the affluent, who may even think that their parents and
grandparents share their enthusiasm. They are wrong.
Thus the assisted suicide agenda appears as a victory not for freedom, but for discrimination. At its
heart lie demeaning attitudes and prejudices about the value of life with an illness or disability. All
who believe in the dignity of human beings should reject such attitudes.
When people raise their voices against this injustice, let no one ... Show more content on

the dire threat posed by this agenda. Also they join wherever possible with other religious, medical,
disability rights, and public interest groups to call our nation to true compassion for the seriously ill
a compassion based on respect for their lives.
In 1973, the highest court in our land made a tragic error by declaring a constitutional right to take
the life of unborn children. That decision, too, was defended as a victory for freedom. In reality it
has led to 40 million deaths, physical and emotional suffering for countless women, and a
coarsening of our society s attitudes toward human life. It has led to the legalized killing of
children even in the very process of being born. The degradation of human life it has produced must
not be allowed to expand through assisted suicide.
No court, no legislature, no human being has the right to say that any human life is worthless, or
that any human being is of less value than another. We pray that our Supreme Court and all our
fellow Americans will realize this truth, and take the path that leads to life.
Numerous studies have established that the Americans most directly affected by the issue of
physician assisted suicide those who are frail, elderly and suffering from terminal illness are also
more opposed to legalizing the practice than others are:

Analysis Of Thanksgiving Norman Rockwell
In the painting Thanksgiving by Norman Rockwell the painting shows a happy American family

which clearly is the main thing in the painting. The people that are in it like I said is an American
familythat consists of uncles, aunts, siblings, cousin, etc. The theme of this tells me that
Thanksgiving is great time for our family to get together to have a meal and have a proper
conversation for what we are thankful for. The smile on this family in the painting clearly shows
that it is a joyful time when its Thanksgiving. In my opinion, Norman Rockwell wants us to believe
that in Thanksgiving we should be thankful for what we have and that is family.

Essay about Mary Paul s Letters
Essay Assignment: Market Revolution
During the nineteenth century, America went through a number of social, economic and political
changes. Revolutions in manufacturing and commerce led to substantial economic growth. Several
cultural movements reformed American society. Mary Paul, once just a normal girl from Vermont,
led a life that was shaped by the changes of the 1800 s. The information gathered from Mary Paul s
letters to her father make it clear that Mary s life experiences turned her into anything but an
average woman. However, in the scope of the economic and cultural reforms of the nineteenth

begins to show dissatisfaction with Lowell after working there for only a month. She describes
the dangers of working at the mill, one girl fell down and broke her neck... The same day a man
was killed by cars. Another had nearly all of his ribs broken. Another was nearly killed by falling
down and having a bale of cotton fall on him. Safety was one reason that Mary began to have
doubts about working at Lowell. She also writes, I am very tired tonight... If I thought I could

that once fascinated Mary Paul no longer fit her needs and desires. In a fashion similar to how the
Market Revolution changed her definitions of happiness and success, a new revolution soon
changed these definitions again. During the nineteenth century several cultural reforms occurred in
America. Some movement encouraged individualism, while others encouraged communalism. In
general, these movements served to counter the growth of capitalism during the Marketing

The Importance of Human Intimacy in Chopin s Regret Essay
The Importance of Human Intimacy in Chopin s Regret
The short story, Regret, by Kate Chopin is about a childless spinster who accepts the responsibility
of caring for a neighbor s four young children while their mother is away. The main idea of the
story is that even though independent people like Mamzelle Aur elie become used to living alone,
they still need affection and human intimacy.
Mamzelle Aur elie is depicted as a woman with masculine traits and a somewhat military
demeanor. Her good strong figure, clothed in man s hat, ... army coat, and topboots contribute to
her masculine image (461). And like a man she manages her own farm and keeps a gun with which
she shot chicken hawks (461). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, she is quite the opposite of the stolid Mamzell Aur eles who is quite alone but looks with a
determined eye (461) over her crops and workers.
Mamzelle Aur elie assumes an even more military air when she is confronted with the
unfamiliar task of caring for the children. At first sight of the small band of very small children
(461) she is as shocked as if they had fallen from the clouds (461). Their approach is unexpected,
bewildering, and unwelcome (461). She contemplates the children with a critical eye and a
calculating air (462) like a drill sargent viewing a set of new recruits. The course of action she
determines is identical with a line of duty ( 462), and calling on her experience as husbandman,
she feeds them. It is easy to picture her doing this while wearing her old blue army overcoat and
topboots. Her loud and commanding tone of voice (462) that so frightens Marc elette, one of the
older girls, would also befit a platoon leader. Chopin implies this comparison again when she
writes that Mamzelle Aur elie ordered them one and all to bed as she would have shooed the
chickens into the hen house (462). However, Mamzelle Aur elie soon learns that children are
neither little soldiers nor livestock.
The presence of the children have an impact on Mamzell Aur elie. First, children awaken her
maternal instincts. Mamzell Aur elie is compelled to

research from 2006 discovered that those who commonly eat animal products containing nitrites

However, because the additive is so common many people consume too much and are unaware,
Melanie Warner, a freelance reporter for the New York Times, cautions (113). Consumers should not

How Did Islam Influence The Spread Of Western Europe
Over the 100 years that Islam expanded, the Arabs collected a wealth of science, philosophy and
arts from lands they had conquered as they grew. By the tenth century, nearly all Greek texts were
translated into Arabic as a result of the Translation Movement. They preserved a lot of Greek works
that would have been lost otherwise. At the time they were thought of as the greatest scholars
because of all of the knowledge they combined from different countries. For example, the Greeks
liked geometry, and the Hindus liked algebra and arithmetic, so the Arabians developed a
combination of both called trigonometry, used for astronomical purposes with the ratios called
trigonometric functions. The Islamic people contributed to transmission of knowledge in Europe
by all of the writing they had sought after to make their own. It gave them so much more
information than other countries. As more expansion occurred, the Greek scientific writings moved
westward through the Islamic world and reached Spain by the 9th century.

First Compressions In Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire
Although first impressions are given quite a bit of weight in our society, they are often wrong. In
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry has several first impressions of new characters. Ludo

knows what he is talking about. These are all true statements about these three characters. Or are

The Transformational Psychology view, by Coe and Hall, believes how we live out our
Christianity is more important than our understanding of how to think Christianly. Its an approach
that states psychology is an act of doing love. It emphasizes learning, practicing, and living
psychological science through the Spirit. The goal is not to relate aspects of science to faith,
rather to transform science into an actual act of faith. The transformational view offers and values
the idea of soul care for individuals. This view still respects the traditions and historical aspects of
psychology. It emphasizes the importance of openness towards experience, observation, and simply
humanness. This approach encourages individuals to explore all the wisdom and opportunity that
is out there, and come back from those experiences a deeper Christian and closer to God. It
suggests that the more open we are to different experiences, the more we grow, the more we help
others, and the more we can serve God. This view really makes it a point that we are our own
limitation. We are the ones holding humanity back from wandering through all the amazing things
this world has to offer. The transformational view has Scriptural truths as the foundation and wants
those who practice science to strive to live more like Christ. It does not take presuppositions,
experience, observation as the foundation, only biblical truth. A few criticisms towards the
transformational psychology view point out that this

The Crusades Effects Essay
There were several effects of the Crusades on the European continent. To summary, the European
continent was mainly affect by the in ideology in religion and king s power.
From the Crusader s point of view, Islam and Judaism should be replaces by Christianity totally
even with the help of violence. In this way, the Crusaders began their persecution against the Jews
throughout the European continent. When Jerusalem was finally caught, the Muslim and Jewish
people were killed in bulk. Later, the slaughter against Muslim and Jews was utilized as an excuse
to indict the Roman Catholic Church in the period of Protestant Reformation. As a result of this,
many people in the European began to lose faith in the Roman Catholic Church since it was no
longer regarded as a moral authority.[1] The violence carried out by the Christians was considered
to be brutal. With the increasing scale of influence of the membership within European continent,
there was also an increase in the loyalty to the church. Consequently, the religious tolerance got low,
which made the Jewish in European become an obvious target. The Jewish population was
persecuted in the European continent and it was always the case that the Jewish population would

It was often the case that in the battle, some nobles would die without leaving an heir. In this case,
it was the king who had the right to get the land left by the nobles. The kings collected taxes from
the nobles to pay the Crusades. To pay this tax, some nobles would choose to sell their land and
there were less serfs and peasants needed as a result. In this way, the peasants could feel free to
leave, which was a chance that they never had before.[2] During that period, a lot of young men
would choose to take part in the Crusade. When a men who had land died in the Crusade, the king
then was allowed to get his land. Gradually, the king s power was consolidated a

My Beautiful Laundrette By Stephen Frear
Stephen Frear s film, My Beautiful Laundrette portrays the struggle of intersecting sexuality,
ethnicity, class, race and power. Omar, son of a Pakistani immigrant, is attracted to Johnny, a white
English male. Their attraction and the subsequent relationship is looked down upon, both in
England and Pakistan. Omar works for his uncle who lets him take over a laundrette in London
while Johnny is initially unemployed and eventually works for Omar. Together, they make the
laundrette a successful business venture and a place where they can freely express their desire for
each other. The film seeks to highlight a progressive society in England during Margaret Thatcher s
entrepreneurship and opportunism era (Mohanram 1996). Britain... Show more content on

The accountants building is more like a watchdog and a representation of how the events that
unfold inside and around the laundrette are all part of the new liberal Britain. Nasser refers to
the laundrette as a place where Omar can use a little water to clear his brain. What was crowding
Omar s mind when he was merely a young man waiting to go to college with seemingly nothing
to bother him? The scene suggests the presence of something that oppresses Omar and the
presence of the laundrette as a refuge, a place for him to clear his brain a space where queer
bodies can express their desire. The sounds of water in the background echoes this. Water is
used to represent cleansing, life, and freedom in films (Shane Brown 2016). The sound of water
in the laundrette becomes a symbol of characters in stories handling difficult life scenarios, a
symbol of power in stories and can free characters as well as claim them (ibid). The laundrette is
equivalent to what Gopinath describes as the diaspora a space of freedom (Gopinath pg 14). In the
next scene, I m going to analyze, we see Johnny from a high angle shot, finishing the renovation
the laundrette, now called Powders. The word powders can be translated to mean fine, dry particles
produced by the grinding, crushing, or disintegration of a solid substance (Oxford Dictionary).

Causes Of The Old Regime And The French Revolution
In the Old Regime and the French Revolution, by Alexis de Tocqueville, he detailed the ways in
which the French nation was corrupt and how these led to the chaos of the French Revolution.
Among the causes Alexis de Tocqueville listed, the feudal system s corruption was the root of the
French revolution s turmoil. This feudal system was certain to lead to a revolution because of the
anger it was creating among the peasants. In a document written by Abbe Sieyes, What is the Third
Estate, it is revealed that the peasants were being exploited, as they were doing all of the work for
the nation, while receiving nothing in return from their nobles who had promised to protect them
but weren t, and still obtained all of the power. The citizens of the third estate, including the
peasants realized that this system was unjust and began the anarchic French revolution.
The people of the third estate had finally come to realize the corruption of the feudal system, so
they created the National Assembly. The creation of the National Assembly by the third estate,
wreaked havoc among the French nation and marked the beginning of the French Revolution
because the third estate had no legal right to act as the National Assembly. The members of the
National Assembly wanted to reform the government by writing a new constitution and destroying
the old regime, so taxation could be less for them because they ultimately did everything for the
nation. By 1799, there had been five different

Chris Kyle Should Be Inducted
Christopher, or Chris, Kyle. If this name is not familiar, I soon hope it should be. After a career
ending injury as a professional rodeo participant, Kyle joined the Navy, earned his SEAL trident,
and became a sniper. His contributions to the United States demonstrated by his career proves,
without a doubt that Chris Kyle ought to be inducted into the U.S. MilitaryHall of Fame. Kyle
protected U.S. lives, is highly decorated, and helped veterans.
It was my duty to shoot the enemy and I don t regret it. My regrets are for the people I couldn t
save: Marines, soldiers, buddies. I m not naГЇve, I don t romanticize war. The Worst moments of
my life have come as a SEAL. But I can stand before God with a clear conscience about doing my
job ( Chris Kyle Quotes ). The first reason for why Chris Kyle should be inducted in the U.S.
Military Hall of Fame is for his undying desire to protect not only his country, but his fellow
countrymen as well. Kyle served over four tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan during the war
on terror ( Chris Kyle Navy Seal ). Kyle also continued to protect people indirectly after he retired
from the armed services. According to a Chris Kyle information website, ...he (Kyle) became
chief instructor for training Naval Special Warfare Sniper and counter sniper teams and he
authored the Naval Special Warfare Sniper Doctrine, the first Navy SEAL sniper manual ( Chris
Kyle Navy Seal ). Kyle also started a company in the U.S. with the idea of

The Ottoman Empire And The Safavid Empire
The Middle East is known for their notorious empires that impacted how our society is constructed
up to date. Two of the most famous empires are the Ottoman Empire and the Safavid Empire. Both
empires have characteristics that both famously led to the success of each empire and infamous
characteristics which ultimately led to the demise of the empire.
To begin with, the Ottoman Empire was initially founded in the fourteenth century by a Sunni
Muslim named Osman I. From the very beginning one of the number one goals of the Ottoman
Empire was to expand. One of the ways that the Ottomans expanded their empire was with a strong
military. Due to this fact, they gained popularity. Moreover, another one of the biggest keys to the
success of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Safavid Empire s case Turkic leaders attempted many times to overthrow the shah. Much
like Janissaries in the Ottoman Empire the Safavid Empire had young Christian born males as
slaves that were forced to serve and protect the shah at all costs. The difference between the two
is that Janissaries were of the Ottoman Empire, while in the Safavid Empire the young male
slaves were not of the Safavid Empire. Since the people of the Safavid Empire were strictly Shi a
Muslims the young male slaves were converted and brought up as Shi a Muslims. Ultimately, they
positively contributed to the Safavid Empire by adding loyal subjects. Unlike the Ottoman Empire
the Safavid Empire was a theocracy. All in all, while the Safavid Empire did not last nearly as long
as the Ottoman Empire, which ended in the 1700 s, the Safavid Empire was unique and famously
remembered for its cultural impact.
The demise of the Ottoman Empire began in the early twentieth century. The world was beginning
to become more industrialized and because of that economies were rapidly changing. The sultans
were not prone to taking this into consideration and firmly believed that since the Ottoman Empire
survived that long just as it was then there was no need to reinvent themselves by becoming more
industrialized. Inevitably, economic hardship fell upon the

Nurse Mentoring Concept Analysis Response
Nurse Mentoring Concept Analysis Response
Introduction
According to McEwen and Wills, concepts in the nursing profession are words that describe a
variable of nursing practice (2014, pg. 50). Concepts, once defined, are used in research to test
hypotheses that will increase knowledge and theory development. However, concept definitions
change with time and context. Therefore, it is important to thoroughly and succinctly define
concepts within an analysis for a meaningful application.
Mentoring in nursing practice has been thought of as a beneficial way of increasing nursing
knowledge for several decades (Stewart Krueger, 1996, pg. 311). However, the concept of
mentoring had not been defined or analyzed, which made researching its effectiveness useless. This
concept analysis of mentoring in nursing practice shows that mentoring can be mutually beneficial
for a mentor, protГ©gГ©, and nursing practice. However, further research on this concept is
necessary to determine the broader application to nursing as a scientific discipline.
Method of Analysis
In the concept analysis of mentoring, Stewart and Krueger used the evolutionary method by
Rodgers (Stewart Krueger, 1996, pg. 312). This method involves multiple steps of analysis that are
often occurring concurrently rather than completing a step after one is completed. The benefit of
this method is that it has clear phases in the analytical process but is time efficient because steps
are occurring at the same time. It also

  • 2. Antimicrobial Resistance Introduction Since the beginning of the antibiotic error in the mid 20th century, antimicrobial resistance has been recognized. The increased use of antimicrobial agents in the recent years has resulted in the development of resistance to these drugs. Clinical threats have however been minimized by the availability of newer agents (Bonomo Tolmasky 2007). The World Health Organization (WHO) defines antimicrobial resistance as the resistance of a microorganism to an antimicrobial medicine to which it was previously sensitive (WHO 2012). A variety of resistance mechanisms have been developed by bacteria to counter the introduction of successive classes of antibiotics. This has lead to heightened interest in the study of antimicrobial... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This dilemma is a worldwide concern and in the past few decades scientist have discovered many new, renewable means of generating electricity. Examples of these renewable sources are hydro energy, ocean energy, wind energy and solar energy. In order to fulfil in the worlds and South Africa s excessive energy needs these renewable energy sources need to be implemented. The purpose of this report is to introduce different types of renewable energy sources by giving a short summary of each of the above mentioned sources and give a more detailed overview of solar energy that is a source option for South Africa. This report firstly gives an overview on renewable energy. Then it looks at four different sources as options. Finally solar energy is discussed in more detail with advantages and disadvantages. 2. Renewable Energy Overview Many countries rely greatly on energy producing sources like oil, coal and natural gas, including South Africa. However fossil fuels like the above mentioned, are non renewable and will eventually run out, become more expensive or too environmentally dangerous to continue using. Cyber Threats And Its Impact On The Past Year Intro In an age of rapidly expanding data and highly skilled threat actors, technological advancements present the urgent duality of major opportunity and critical risk. A universities data is integral to both, and a critical asset that differentiates organizations. While it is impractical to completely keep it locked down and yet open, it is use can threaten the organization s existence. Therefore, the challenge for IT team security leaders is striking a delicate balance being security aware and remaining business driven. The human and technological aspects of cyber threats changed dramatically in the past year. Witnessing innovative techniques blended with the outmoded, resulting in highly evasive attacks. Recently we have seen sizeable business, corporations, governmental agencies, and banking institutions, which we perceive as extremely secure, broken into. Vulnerabilities, uncovered by hackers who in turn exploit them in out of date infrastructure standards and developments such as the Internet of Things (IoT) have emerged to present an entirely new set of infrastructure challenges. Hackers continue to develop novel methods to breach the security of the institutions they target. These methods are increasingly more sophisticated and difficult to detect with the tools and programs designed to detect attacks and intrusions. • 5. A Study Of Non Invasive Measurement Techniques Abstract Diabetes is considered to be one of the major health care epidemics of modern era. The determination of blood glucose concentration using the self monitoring blood glucose devices involves the chemical analysis of blood samples taken by pricking the finger or extracting blood from forearm. The pain, discomfort and inconvenience in the current invasive method have led to the feasibility study of non invasive measurement techniques. In this paper, an optical method using NIR technique based on occlusion spectroscopy is used which shows that it can be possible to measure glucose concentration in blood non invasively. Keywords: Non invasive, spectroscopy, euglycemia, hypoglycaemia. By using the Monte Carlo method, Katsuhiko et al. (2003) has developed a non invasive system using near infrared [4]. To detect the glucose level, fibre optic probes was developed that consist of a source and detector optical fibres. Both source and detector are separated by 0.65 mm, placed on the skin surface. They reported that the correlation coefficient of blood glucose predicted by near infrared and finger prick was 0.928 with a standard error of prediction of 32.2 mg/dL [4]. Another research based on near infrared has been done by Ilan Gabriely, MD et al. (1999) [5]. They were using transcutaneous near infrared spectroscopy system to monitor blood glucose levels during euglycemia and hypoglycaemia. The results proved that near infrared can be used to predict the glucose levels in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My Love Of Love And Love In My Life In my life, I have always tried to find things that make my life more joyful and peaceful, and there really are three things that I can think of to best illustrate my love for peace and joy. The first is the willow sapling that, to me, represents the joy of my childhood. The second is the guitar that I first learned to play on, that represents my love of music and the peace that I get from it. The third is the postcard I brought back from New Zealand that represents my love of travel and adventure and the joy that it brings me. These things are the most important to me because they remind me to always seek joy and peace in my life. The first of three items that are most impactful in my life is the willow sapling we used to play with as kids. A long time ago, way back when my family and I used to visit our cousin s ranch, my sister, my cousins, and I would all go down to where small, rocky covered in young willow trees islands sprung out of the ruby river, separated by thin sheet sheets of quickly flowing icy cold water. Irony is apparent from the title, for this is not a conventional love song. Prufrock would like to speak of love to a woman, but he does not have the nerve. Upon first reading the title, I admit that it doesn t strike me as very original. This poem can very well be a description of the author s cellar; a snapshot of an event being held in said cellar. The author begins with telling us that nothing would sleep in [the] cellar . At first I pondered why the author would put that part in at the very beginning, but as I read on I found that the beginning was the correct placement; it pulled the reader (me) in, and had me asking, Why wouldn t anything sleep down there? Instead of thinking, Why would anyone allow something to become so disgusting? , I think about how the leaves and the roots refused to go away. The shoots continued to hang, low and in the way; the leaves and roots continued to make their presence known by giving off the strong smell of decomposing matter. After reading the poem, I m still not 100% sure on what the theme is. There was a shift from negative to positive in the last three lines, and lots of imagery. Even then the poem still comes across as abstract and slightly vague. The author could be describing their life; maybe the run down cellar and decaying roots are representations of an unhappy or dysfunctional childhood. Maybe, in writing this, they are accepting that those memories will never go away, but they don t define who they are. Or maybe the author is describing a time when they went to get something from their cellar, and realized how disgusting it was. As always, it s whatever the reader wants it to ... • 14. The Effect Of Reflex On Children s Health Introduction: Reflex can defined as an automatic and often inborn response to a stimulus that involves a nerve impulse passing inward from a receptor to a nerve center and thence outward to an effector (as a muscle or gland) without reaching the level of consciousness (Merriam Webster) or more simply put an reaction to an action that our bodies do to return to homeostasis without us having to think about it. Reflexes play an extremely important role in remaining healthy and protecting us from being harmed without having to take the time to think about it. For example, infants have a suck reflex that causes them to start sucking when the roof of their mouths are stimulated; this reflex is obviously important because if infants did not have this reflex, they could die of starvation since they would not be able to draw milk from their mother s breast (this is actually a problem with premature infants as the suck reflex does not develop until between the 32nd and 36th week of pregnancy) (Stanford Children s Health). There are two main types of reflexes the simpler monosynaptic reflexes (or spinal reflexes) that can act without any input from the brain and the more complex superficial reflexes which still requiring some processing from the brain. A reflex consists of five main components, which as a group are called the reflex arc. Component one is the sensory receptor, which receives stimulus and then sends an and impulse to the second component, the afferent pathway. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first thing that Jehoshaphat did was to pray and ask God for help. He asked all the people not to eat for the day. Instead, he asked them to pray and ask God for help. Then, King Jehoshaphat stood in front of the people and prayed to God. He praised God for how powerful and wonderful He was. He asked God to help them defeat this enemy. He told God that they could not do anything without God s help. God heard King Jehoshaphat s prayer. God sent a messenger named Jahaziel to speak to all the people. He told them to listen to what the Lord said. He said, Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this big army. For the battle is not yours, but God s. God told them to wait until the next day to fight. God showed that when they marched to fight, they would see how God would win the battle for them. All of these forms of energy as well as many others are organized to what is called The electromagnetic spectrum. All types of electromagnetic energy travel through space as waves. So, knowing what a wave is first, it is defined as the distance a wave travels as it completes the cycle. That distance is measured in the appropriate pomegranate for length which can vary from pedometers to kilometers. The frequency of a wave is the count of how many cycles occur in a given period of time, and it is measured in hertz or in cycle per second. The speed of a wave is the product of its wave length and frequency. Electromagnetic waves travel at a constant speed, which is the speed of light through a vacuum. It follows through this relationship between speed, frequency, and wavelength; that the wavelength is inversely proportional to the frequency. According to Middlemost (1988) s basic definition, magma is a heated rock forming substance that is created within a planet and exists only below Earth. When magma escapes to the Earth s surface and is extruded, they are known as lavas. Grotzinger and Jordan (2010) suggests that magma mainly comes from the asthenosphere the upper part of the mantle. Magmas are usually generated when rocks are under the right temperature and pressure conditions to undergo partial melting (Grotzinger and Jordan, 2010). Subduction zone magmas are formed by convergent plate boundaries between oceanic continental plates or oceanic oceanic plates (at least one tectonic plate has to be oceanic) (see Fig.1). According to Grotzinger and Jordan (2010), when the oceanic lithosphere gets subducted, there is fluid induced melting occurring to the mantle wedge. Therefore, this generates magmas of varying composition. From Prichard et al. s findings, mid ocean ridge magmas are usually basaltic in composition whereas subduction zone magmas are andesitic and more silicic. Subduction zone magma compositions also depend on the materials being subducted. Hence, in terms of chemical composition, the subduction zone magmas and are definitely more varied compared to the mid ocean ridge magmas. In the United States, the average cost Americans will spend is over $465 billion on Christmas gifts, $3.2 billion on wrapping paper, and $6 billion on holiday decorations such as, lights, trees, lawn decorations, etc. Everyone likes putting up lights at Christmason their trees, around the house, on the roof, and any other, countless, creative things, and individual might come up with. Our question, however, is whether a single strain of multi colored Christmas lights, or a single strain of white Christmas lights can save you money on usage. In West Virginia alone, the average cost of electricity is 9.2 cents, per kilowatt hour. In the month of October, the house used in this experiment ran on average energy consumption throughout the whole month. The price of the used electricity was $206.71. To determine how much different Christmas lights added on, we used white and multi colored lights, and measured with the EZ Kill O Watt to calculate the cost of each set of lights, per month, and added it to the bill. In 1973, the highest court in our land made a tragic error by declaring a constitutional right to take the life of unborn children. That decision, too, was defended as a victory for freedom. In reality it has led to 40 million deaths, physical and emotional suffering for countless women, and a coarsening of our society s attitudes toward human life. The Transformational Psychology View, By Coe And Hall Essay The Transformational Psychology view, by Coe and Hall, believes how we live out our Christianity is more important than our understanding of how to think Christianly. Its an approach that states psychology is an act of doing love. It emphasizes learning, practicing, and living psychological science through the Spirit. The goal is not to relate aspects of science to faith, rather to transform science into an actual act of faith. The transformational view offers and values the idea of soul care for individuals. This view still respects the traditions and historical aspects of psychology. It emphasizes the importance of openness towards experience, observation, and simply humanness. This approach encourages individuals to explore all the wisdom and opportunity that is out there, and come back from those experiences a deeper Christian and closer to God. It suggests that the more open we are to different experiences, the more we grow, the more we help others, and the more we can serve God. This view really makes it a point that we are our own limitation. We are the ones holding humanity back from wandering through all the amazing things this world has to offer. The transformational view has Scriptural truths as the foundation and wants those who practice science to strive to live more like Christ. It does not take presuppositions, experience, observation as the foundation, only biblical truth. A few criticisms towards the transformational psychology view point out that this ... The accountants building is more like a watchdog and a representation of how the events that unfold inside and around the laundrette are all part of the new liberal Britain. Nasser refers to the laundrette as a place where Omar can use a little water to clear his brain. What was crowding Omar s mind when he was merely a young man waiting to go to college with seemingly nothing to bother him? The scene suggests the presence of something that oppresses Omar and the presence of the laundrette as a refuge, a place for him to clear his brain a space where queer bodies can express their desire. The sounds of water in the background echoes this. Water is used to represent cleansing, life, and freedom in films (Shane Brown 2016). The sound of water in the laundrette becomes a symbol of characters in stories handling difficult life scenarios, a symbol of power in stories and can free characters as well as claim them (ibid). The laundrette is equivalent to what Gopinath describes as the diaspora a space of freedom (Gopinath pg 14). • 43. Causes Of The Old Regime And The French Revolution In the Old Regime and the French Revolution, by Alexis de Tocqueville, he detailed the ways in which the French nation was corrupt and how these led to the chaos of the French Revolution. Among the causes Alexis de Tocqueville listed, the feudal system s corruption was the root of the French revolution s turmoil. This feudal system was certain to lead to a revolution because of the anger it was creating among the peasants. In a document written by Abbe Sieyes, What is the Third Estate, it is revealed that the peasants were being exploited, as they were doing all of the work for the nation, while receiving nothing in return from their nobles who had promised to protect them but weren t, and still obtained all of the power. The citizens of the third estate, including the peasants realized that this system was unjust and began the anarchic French revolution. The people of the third estate had finally come to realize the corruption of the feudal system, so they created the National Assembly. The creation of the National Assembly by the third estate, wreaked havoc among the French nation and marked the beginning of the French Revolution because the third estate had no legal right to act as the National Assembly. The members of the National Assembly wanted to reform the government by writing a new constitution and destroying the old regime, so taxation could be less for them because they ultimately did everything for the nation. By 1799, there had been five different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Much like Janissaries in the Ottoman Empire the Safavid Empire had young Christian born males as slaves that were forced to serve and protect the shah at all costs. The difference between the two is that Janissaries were of the Ottoman Empire, while in the Safavid Empire the young male slaves were not of the Safavid Empire. Since the people of the Safavid Empire were strictly Shi a Muslims the young male slaves were converted and brought up as Shi a Muslims. Ultimately, they positively contributed to the Safavid Empire by adding loyal subjects. Unlike the Ottoman Empire the Safavid Empire was a theocracy. All in all, while the Safavid Empire did not last nearly as long as the Ottoman Empire, which ended in the 1700 s, the Safavid Empire was unique and famously remembered for its cultural impact. The demise of the Ottoman Empire began in the early twentieth century. The world was beginning to become more industrialized and because of that economies were rapidly changing. The sultans were not prone to taking this into consideration and firmly believed that since the Ottoman Empire survived that long just as it was then there was no need to reinvent themselves by becoming more industrialized. • 46. Nurse Mentoring Concept Analysis Response Nurse Mentoring Concept Analysis Response Introduction According to McEwen and Wills, concepts in the nursing profession are words that describe a variable of nursing practice (2014, pg. 50). Concepts, once defined, are used in research to test hypotheses that will increase knowledge and theory development. However, concept definitions change with time and context. Therefore, it is important to thoroughly and succinctly define concepts within an analysis for a meaningful application. Mentoring in nursing practice has been thought of as a beneficial way of increasing nursing knowledge for several decades (Stewart Krueger, 1996, pg. 311). However, the concept of mentoring had not been defined or analyzed, which made researching its effectiveness useless. This concept analysis of mentoring in nursing practice shows that mentoring can be mutually beneficial for a mentor, protГ©gГ©, and nursing practice. However, further research on this concept is necessary to determine the broader application to nursing as a scientific discipline. Method of Analysis In the concept analysis of mentoring, Stewart and Krueger used the evolutionary method by Rodgers (Stewart Krueger, 1996, pg. 312). This method involves multiple steps of analysis that are often occurring concurrently rather than completing a step after one is completed. The benefit of this method is that it has clear phases in the analytical process but is time efficient because steps are occurring at the same time. It also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
