The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps
loyal to the Shah and his regime. He created the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to protect the
revolution within his country and keep the conventional army forces, who remained loyal to the Shah,
from rising up against him. He also hoped that the large population of Shi a Muslims in Iraq would
support his mission and rise up against their secular leader; this would keep the revolution going
strong.
Iran cut all ties with the United States and lost its dominance in the area; it s army was disorganized
and weak. The Iranian Revolution created disorder in many Iranian military units and Iranian
confrontation with the U.S. ensured it would be cut off from its primary weapons supplier. During the
year after the fall of the Shah, many areas of Iran were approaching civil war; this frenzy in Iran made
the country seem much more vulnerable than it really was, and led Saddam Hussein to feel he had his
first genuine opportunity to make Iraq the dominant power in the area and the Arab world (Cordesman
Wagner, 1990).
Hussein knew that there was a possibility that the Shi a population in Iraq could rise against him, but
he also knew there was a chance that he could get the Arabs in the southwest regions or Iran to rally
behind him. Iran publicly supported Shi a and Kurdish rebellion in Iraq and due to tense relationships
and continued border clashes over territorial disputes, tensions increased.
Finally, Hussein recaptured the areas that rightfully belonged to Iraq in

Parents Must Make A Good Parent
Parents serve no purpose. Parents provide no help. Parents give no benefits to children. Children could
easily live without parents. Everyone has parents; it s inevitable. Whether or not children believe that
their parents behave in a way to benefit them is a decision they choose to make. These statements
differ from reality, parents truly represent some of the greatest people in our world; they do serve a
purpose and they impact their children immensely. For some children, they may see the discipline
from their parents as their parents failing at their jobs. In actuality, parents need to discipline to
structure their children into mature adults. They need to show love and forgiveness even though
sometimes it may seem impossible. Children will become the future and parents hold responsibility
for that. Therefore, parents must mold them into adults that our future needs. A good parent should
model three essential qualities: forgiveness, discipline, and love.
The first essential quality includes a good parent modeling forgiveness. For example, my grandmother
spent the majority of her relationship with her husband, my grandfather, battling against alcohol.
Countless times, she fought against my grandfather and his addiction to alcohol. After 15 years and
five children, my grandfather gave up fighting against alcohol, and he won; he became sober. My
grandmother didn t give up, she didn t back down, and she didn t throw away their marriage; she
forgave. Their marriage may not

The Nuclear Arms Race
After the end of World War II, the world was left with the two global Superpowers, the U.S and the
the Soviet Union. Having completely contradicting government ideologies, these two countries
desperately fought each other over foreign influence, inspiring what is known as the Cold War. Named
for it s lack of military action, the Cold War was hardly a war at all but more an arms race between
American democracy and Russian Communism. Though it never felt the heat of battle, this altercation
between the two Superpowers (the U.S. and the Soviet Union) included one of the quickest
advancements of military technology in global history. Inspired by fear of parity, the United States ...

These missiles were a critical product of the Cold War itself. Following the introduction of the IBM s,
Secretary of State John Foster Dulles coined the policy known as Massive retaliation , dictating that
any major Soviet attack would be met with a massive nuclear response. Inspired by fear and skeptical
assumptions of what the Soviet Union could do, this policy in turn acted as an empty unneeded form
of retaliation, attempting to discourage any possible Soviet Union capitalization. But, after all these
threats, Dulles acts upon this assumption declaring that the United States will protect its allies through
the deterrent of massive retaliatory power. The policy announcement was further evidence of the
Eisenhower administration s decision to rely heavily on the nation s nuclear arsenal as the primary
means of defense against communist aggression, ( Dulles Announces Policy of massive Retaliation ).
Later, in the 1960 s, the strategic doctrine known as Mutually Assured Destruction was developed as a
scapegoat in case Russia ever gained superiority over the United States. Declaring that if Russia
attacked the west, the west would make sure that they would suitably retaliate, (Trueman). This
doctrine was declared under the knowledge that the nuclear firepower of both the US and USSR was

Mrs. Cullinan On Vengeance
Race, gender, age, and social class are things sometimes used to define a person. Mrs. Cullinan
assumed because Maya was African American she had no say. The blacks have suffered so much
harassment from the whites for many years that being called out of his name was an offense. It was
such an insult to take away Marguerites name just for the convenience of Mrs. Cullinan it was like
taking part of her away from her. Maya describes how this impacted her and how she decided to get
vengeance. Times have now changed but there are still some people who believe that one gender or
one race is superior and better.
When I was younger reading about stories on racism and men being considered superior to women
have always surprised me because how can

Essay on Workplace Conflict
Workplace Conflicts between Team Members Conflict between team members will happen in the
workplace because the fact that there will have an environment where decisions are made and
personality clashes will occur. This doesn t mean you have an unproductive workforce, it means you
will have to be able to catch the problem early and know what to do with each individual case. People
are going to disagree because they have different view points, different backgrounds and a different
thought process, maybe even a different agenda for that project. People disagree for a number of
reasons (De Bono, 1985). College graduates will be put into positions of uncertainty due to the lack of
work history. This will in turn cause conflict, not knowing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using a third party will introduce new scenarios that will promote new thought process and cause
students to look at ways to stop conflict and see it coming. This helps in the way of making students
know that conversation and rationalization will resolve conflict instead of negativity (Freedman
Adam, 1996). Several situations that cause conflict negatively and positively, here are a few:
Ambiguous jurisdiction, unresolved prior conflicts, Differentiation in organization, Goal
incompatibility and conflict of interest, (Filey (1975). There are a great deal of positive outcomes from
conflict, it can bring individuals and groups closer together, open new avenues of thought processes
that might have been overlooked. Some companies will create conflict within a group or team to
observe a managers ability to handle the situation. This is a good method of gauging whether he or she
can see the conflict coming and turn it into a constructive learning experience so all team members are
positive. More managers are being put in these positions so they will know the right question to ask or
be able to generate the correct situation to defuse the problem before it escalates into a non productive
workforce. Teams also benefit from managers properly handling situations correctly, after awhile
teams will pick up on downward spirals and turn the situations around. All

Financial Analysis And Funding Plan
Group Capital: Financial Analysis Funding Plan
Since the economic crisis of 2008 and the collapse of financial institutions, entrepreneurs are
clamoring for alternative financing choices and investors yearn for investment options with the
potential for greater returns. With this in mind, the President and Congress enacted the Jumpstart Our
Business Startups (JOBS) Act of 2012 to grow entrepreneurship and provide investors with
opportunities to fund private companies in exchange for equity. The partners at Group Capital, a
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)

With this in mind, Group Capital will remain competitive, efficient and agile, and invest in innovation
in the processes while contemplating performance and productivity from the customer s perspective
(Swank, 2003). Numerous companies pursue reductions in costs, improvements in speed, and
enhancements in quality exploiting lean principles. With this in mind, there are several techniques to
achieve improved sustainability and profitability, including segregation, simplification, and
standardization (Heizer, Render, 2012). By using the power of the crowd and a robust online platform,
Group Capital improves the capital raising model developing a less cumbersome market approach and
our projected costs reflect this benefit as demonstrated in figure eight.
For this reason, the modification in focus is a seismic shift and represents a new way of transacting
and soliciting business. Group Capital understands the need for a marketing plan that will include an
aggressive digital advertising and social media campaign. Initially, Group Capital will focus on
recruiting and vetting appropriate entrepreneurs to sign up to include their ventures on the Group
Capital website. Through their existing relationships and prospecting activities, we plan to educate and
recruit qualified investors to fund the projects for equity in the ventures. In fact, Group Capital s team

How To Match American Culture
The culture and American society is a new experience, but I have to learn to adapt. There is a lot of
culture shock when trying to match American society. As an American we must learn to understand
jokes and sarcasticism. It is a system of social sharing, learned the values and norms; this is the design
of the society to live. It affects the way we view the fl at, habits, preferences and our way we relate to
other people. Value is a summary of the ideas that are on the good things, right and desirable. The
target is the social rules and guidelines. Most American foods are French fries, burgers and such.
Many foods come from abroad. My interest in education. US Education is provided mainly by the

The Pedagogical Aspects Of Communicative Language Teaching
Communicative Language Teaching
This essay will take just a peek at some of the pedagogical aspects of Communicative Language
Teaching and the teachers therein.
As the U. K. entered the common market (EEC) in the early 1970s. A sharp rise in demand from our
new European neighbours for The English Language landed on our shores. Due to the modernization
of secondary schools not only in Europe but indeed worldwide, languages were a hot commodity and
many were on offer, English being most sort after.
This demand equally put educators, linguists and language experts under immense pressure to come
up with something new and not as it were traditional methods or approaches e.g. audio linguistics
which had been around since the end of the Second World War.
In these modern times (the 1960s, 1970s) a plethora of theories, designs, and approaches in the field of
second language acquisition, came bubbling up to the surface. Due to the application of different
functional, formal, and cognitive linguistic theories.
Chomsky and Halliday have immensely contributed to the development of second language teaching
theories and practices.
Enter the communicative language teaching approach, (CLT).
The focus of CLT is primary and necessarily social, concerned as it was with the goal of successful
communication (Cook 2010; 36) .
The five features of CLT, David Nunan (1991) is one of the most recognised in the field of CLT.

The Prohibition Of The Second Amendment
Gun control is one of the most debated about topic today in America; between news outlet, the public,
and politicians. As some politicians look to resolve the gun control issues, with banning them,
imposing more restriction to sellers, buyers and owner; some people and politicians consider the
second amendment to be relic and should be removed from the constitution. History has shown us
time and time again even through all the violence and chaos in the world and America, that there is a
reason for the creation of the second amendment. From history of America independence in 1776 to
the ratification of the bill of right in 1791 the 2nd amendment still remains relevant form it creation, to
modern times, and the protection of America s future; for the freedom of its inhabitants and citizens.
The once influential 20th century thinker George Santayana once said, Those who cannot remember
the past are condemned to repeat it . Looking back into ancient history, the history of second
amendment, recent and current history we can find clues that will support the relevance of the 2nd
amendment. We will also define the second amendment and try to find solutions to our current
problems from what our forefathers had say. The United States of America, only 240 years old; still
one of the youngest nations to come to power, still has a thing or two to learn from ancient history.
Rome, an empire for more than 500yrs, had similar belief some American politicians of disarming the
people. The

Effective Knowledge Sharing Process And Procedure For...
Introduction
The purpose is to identify the enablers of the effective knowledge sharing with constraints of different
work shifts. In the organization, face to face interaction was difficult to share the tacit knowledge with
people working in 2 different shifts (11:30 AM to 8:00 10:30 PM to 6:00 AM). This case study is
focused on knowledge sharing process and procedure to train and prepare the new work force to work
individually.
Hays Business Solutions is the subsidiary of the Hays Inc which primarily deals with the recruitment.
Hays Inc is operational in 33 countries. HBS was formed to provide the IT technical solutions and
support to the recruitment process. In November 2015, HBS commenced the US shift to provide the
online support services to the customers in US. As part of the strategic plan, 11 new members were
hired to specifically work for the night shift. These peoples were provided the training sessions to fit
in their respective roles.
Objective
The Objective of this case study is to identify and understand the enabler for the organization s
performance, and to develop the integrated Model to represent the scenario for the firm. This case
study also aims to help identify the misconduct and the inappropriate practices and to suggest the
solution for the knowledge creation and analysis of the counter measures taken by the firm after facing
this problem.
Methodology
In this report efforts are made to create an integrated model where enablers are the input and the

Vedic And The Vedic Period
The Vedic period lasted from c. 1750 to 500 BCE. The Vedic texts were arranged when the Indo
Aryans started to inhabit the Ganges plain. With this new settlement, it transitioned to an agricultural
society, and in the need for organization the society created a hierarchical government. The society
had to include older habitants of the Ganges plain, and incorporated them under the Aryan varnas.
They also had to appoint political and religious authority to the Brahmins and Kshatriyas. The Vedas,
also called Śruti, center on the worship of the elements like fire and rivers, worship of heroic gods like
Indra, Varuna and Agni, chanting of hymns and performance of sacrifices. God Indra became the
central deity of the developing Old Indic culture. The philosophy of Vedanta transformed the Vedic
worldview to monistic one. This led to the development of tantric metaphysics and gave rise to new
forms of yoga, such as jnana yoga and bhankti yoga. People prayed for abundance of children, rain,
cattle (wealth), long life and an afterlife in the heavenly world of the ancestors. This mode of worship
has been preserved since then in Hinduism. However, the primacy of Vedic deities has been seconded
to the deities of Puranic literature. According to Muesse, some of the fundamental concepts like
karma, reincarnation and personal enlightenment and transformation did not exist in the Vedic
religion. Brahman is a very specific conception of the Absolute in Vedas. Brahman is neither

prevalent being lack of food, education, clothing, and shelter. Within the transcript Lending a Hand a
woman that was lucky enough to not have as many struggles as others during the depression recalls
some of what she calls bums from the time. She describes a family that while traveling didn t have

Similarities Between Tunisia And Egypt
Five years after the arab revolutions began, we can observe many differences as well as similarities
between Tunisia and Egypt. Tunisia was the first country that started the revolts, and since then has
had many successes, including the adoption of a constitution. Despite many of the setbacks,
interruptions, and serious crises Tunisia has been through these past few years, as long as they do not
have any more upheavals of power, the evidence seems to prove they can transform their government
into a more stable democracy. In contrast, Egypt also attempted to become democratic, but soon after
reverted back to an authoritarian and oppressive regime that has become increasingly more
militaristic, and at the moment it seems that a new attempt of becoming democratic is unlikely to start
unless people decide on gathering again and participating in other uprisings. In order to understand
why these two countries moved in such opposite directions, the causes of the riots, external pressures,
religious influences, civil rights political liberties and current problems. To begin, the author Larry
Diamond described democracy as a universal institution among all cultures. Diamond believed
democracy was not just a Western ideal, but in fact could be implemented into every culture in the
world under the correct circumstances. One of the most important circumstances needed to be in place
in order for democracy to thrive is the spirit of democracy, essentially stating that the will of the

Comparing Two Art Styles
In the study of the Humanities one can find a vast list of the different styles and periods of artwork.
The dilemma comes in when taking two different artist with different styles from different time
periods and comparing and contrasting them. The ability to contrast would be facile, but the truth
hides behind the ability to compare such divergent artwork. Artwork that one may look at first glance
and find more dissimilar, then finding the juxtaposition of the two pieces of artwork. Even though
Poussin and Toulouse Lautrec s pieces of artwork can be considered different at first sight, looking
more in depth into both pieces one will be able to find several contrasts and comparisons. The
different styles and time periods can not take away from the parallel that both pieces posess. These
artists have a dissimilar style and outlook on women partly due to the difference in era s.

Rhetorical Analysis Of Bartolome De Las Casas
In Bartolome De Las Casas s A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indies ,De Las Casas brazenly
criticizes the persecution of the inhabitants of the Americas by the Spanish colonizers and makes it
clear what he believes are the motivations behind their actions. De Las Casas effectively molds his
language to provoke compassion towards the natives while establishing a feeling of animosity toward
the colonizers. Making sure to not go as far as to alienate the king, he never argues for equal rights for
the natives, but instead uses his positon as a priest to advocate for the saving of the natives lives to
convert them to Christianity, and then uses this rationale to persuade the king to intervene. To begin

De Las Casas is careful to make his devotion to the crown apparent throughout the piece, referring to
the king several times as Most high and most mighty Lord , most mighty Lord , and your highness .
These petitions to the king serve as a mode to concede his faithfulness to the crown, while at the same
time appealing to the king s undoubtable vanity. Recognizing that he is trying to move the king to stop
the mass murder of the Native Americans, De Las Casas uses these pleas to keep the king on his side
while trying to urge him to revise his colonization methods. Although descriptions of the evil being
done by the colonist takes up most of his account, they are not the purpose of De Las Casas s
narrative. Ultimately, all his efforts to convince the king to stop the settlers from killing and
mistreating the natives is only to allow him to convert and save their souls. De Las Casas, while
obviously sympathizing with the natives, and seeing them as humans rather piles of dung in the
middle of the road like the rest of the colonist (as he puts it), is primarily focused on the welfare of the
souls of those who are dying before they can be introduced to God. De Las Casas prompts his
audience to remember that the natives are ready to hear the word of Christ when he informs the king

The Most Common Forms Of Inflammatory Arthritis
Gout is one of the most common forms of inflammatory arthritis, affecting about 2.49% of the
population in the United Kingdom. Over the past 16 years, there has been a rise in reported incidence
in the UK (Lim et al., 2014). The condition tends to increase with age, especially affecting those
above 65 years. It is known to be much more common in men, with an incidence of 4.42 per 1,000 in
men but only 1.32 per 1,000 in women (Moi et al., 2014). The condition is characterised by the rapid
onset of severe pain, swelling, and erythema of the affected joint. The first metatarsophalangeal joint
is the site of the initial attack of gout in up to 78% of gout sufferers and is involved at some point in
the course of the disease in up to 89% (Roddy et al., 2011). Other areas affected can include the mid
foot, ankle, knee, fingers, wrists and elbows. Chronic gout is defined as repeated attacks of gout
greater than one episode in a year with persistent hyperuricemia (National Institute for Health and
Care Excellence, 2015).
The treatment of gout is usually conducted over two separate phases: in cases of acute gout, rapid
relief is offered from joint pain and inflammation, while in chronic cases, long term management is
provided to reduce serum urate, thus decreasing further acute attacks and irreversible joint damage
(Moi et al., 2014). The European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) management

For decades , university education reflected beautiful meanings for revolution generation such as
national pride, self esteem, achievement and upward mobility .(Elsadda 9 13 feb 2008)
The era of 1970s and 1980s witnessed a shifting in the perception of university education as a result of
open door policy which initiated by president sadaat at the end of 70s, the number of unemployment
graduates had increased and some graduates got jobs with low income and not suitable for their
qualifications.(Elsadda 9 13 feb 2008)
In 1990s, there was a shifting in government policies by giving the market forces and privatization a
bigger role in everything including education.(Elsadda 9 13 feb 2008)
Elsadda states nevertheless, and until this minute, there are perceived strengths in national education
institutions at the level of human resources(excellent faculty members), variety of programs, and
longstanding traditions in education (p.2)(Elsadda 9 13 feb 2008)

Book Review On Bringing Up Bebe
If you ask me something about baby s sleep, I can confidently tell you, that with my first child I ve
seen it all. Well, at least our sleep issues throughout these years gave me the right to say so.
By no means, I consider myself a sleep expert. But in a constant search for the right approach to tackle
short naps, bedtime battles and night wakings, there are definitely some advices that I can give you.

Nursing to sleep when possible, rocking, breastfeeding on demand, respondin to baby s cry, you name
it.
May I just say, how exhausted I was? May I add that the exhaustion still continues, because I believe
some things should be done differently at the beginning?
Two years ago, I stumbled upon a very insightful book. The book is called Bringing Up Bébé and it
describes the parenting approach in France. I was stunned after I read that French kids start sleeping
through the night as early as 6 weeks old. What intrigued me even more, is that French parents
achieved this not by using cry it out technique, which they don t condone.
The book immediately got me thinking if I could achieve such sleep success by using French methods.
This week I m continuning to study the book along with Kelly from The Primarily Insipired. Here you
can read my full post on French parenting and how they deal with baby s sleep issues along with
children s behavioral problems.
I m very curious to know, what is your approach to baby s sleep issues and what methods worked for

Emily Dickinson Death Be Not Proud
The poems Death, be not proud by John Donne, Because I could not stop for death , and I heard a fly
buzz when I died both written by Emily Dickinson are three timeless poems that present the theme of
death, in a very abnormal manner. In Death, be not proud John Donne approaches death by
addressing, personifying, and belittling death. Emily Dickinson s Because I could not stop for death
reflects Dickinson s metaphysical ideas on death to ease and persuade people to accept it. I heard a fly
buzz when I died also written by Emily Dickinson is an unsettling poem written from the perspective
of someone dying. All these poems uniquely examine death by lecturing it, accepting it, and imagining
it.
Death, be not proud written by John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This poem is about the actual moment of death, something that most people do not want to think
about. The author bravely and brilliantly imagined her own death, which was unheard of in those
times. In the poem, Dickinson has signed her will, said goodbye to her loved ones, and then as she
heaves her last breaths, she becomes preoccupied by a fly trying to escape out of the room. I willed
my Keepsakes Signed away... and then it was There interposed a Fly (Dickinson) Some people think
this poem has a humorous tone because of the fly, but numerous people think this poem was not meant
to be humorous, but instead sad and dark. Many believe the fly represents the devil; moreover, the
poem ends with her dying and darkness. In this poem Dickinson does not give the readers the sense
that she goes to heaven when she imagined dying.
All of these noteworthy poems depict death in their own captivating way. In Death, be not proud the
author skillfully used personification and many other literary devices to illustrate death. I could not
stop for death also limns and personifies death differently than Death, be not proud . Arrogant of
striking fear into humans, is how Donne portrays and talks to death in Death, be not proud , while in I
could not stop for death Dickinson portrays death as a polite gentleman. I heard a fly buzz when I died

The Theory Of Child Development
In the early 19th Century, little attention was given to children development. Emphasis were based
upon what a child would become as they get older( Green 2013)However, it was investigated by
human developmental psychologist that Child development is relevant in relation to how individuals
relate in the environment as well as the factors that influence human development. These
psychologists developed the human developmental life span which is predominant in the society
today, although remains unsubstantiated because of the dynamics of individuals and the environment.
The theories that will be discussed mainly in this essay are;Cognitive theory Jean Piaget, Social
Learning Theory Albert Bandura, Psycho social theory Erik Erikson ,Socio cultural theories Lev
Vygotsky. The Psychoanalytic theory will be explored to reflect on how his theories have been
integrated into other human developmental theories. Based on my observations, these theories will be
explored in detail.
This essay will discuss the relevant theories in relation to my subject,a 5 year old child, named Sandra
for purposes of this essay. The observation of this child will be explored in areas of Language
development, cognitive behaviour, and social learning. Attachment theories and cultural theory will be
discussed briefly. This essay will attempt to identify patterns of behaviour with an ideology in linking
theory with the observation I have carried out

Mount Hood Case Study
Analysis
Now that the background of the disaster is known, we can begin to analyze its many components.
From the leadership skills or lack thereof, to the heuristic traps the hikers fell into, to the many voices
that bring multiple views of this climb to life, the 1986 Oregon Episcopal School climb is one that has
people wondering how so many lost their lives in a seemingly simple trip. In doing this we are able to
see how this disaster could have been prevented allowing us to learn from the mistakes of this tragic
event.
The leadership, group functioning, experience, and skill of the nineteen individuals who made their
way up Mount Hood can be used to analyze the very basics of what went wrong atop the mountain.
Though there was a trained ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those who survived the tragedy bring the voice of what it was really like up on the mountain to life.
The parents of students who didn t survive bring the feeling of grief and the opinion that the school
was never prepared enough to take kids up the mountain (Hallman, 2014). Though some hold the
school responsible, others believe that the leaders provided were adequate as was the equipment. The
media also provides an interesting view into the climb. Because they bring the voices of the parents,
community, and survivors together, the recordings from May 12th through 15th prove to be valuable
when dissecting the events that occurred. Newspapers, magazines, and television reports all freeze this
disaster in place among the records of Mount Hood. Finally, the voices of the public provide
interesting insight on the climbers and leaders who failed to come back home. Through contrasting
views of Summers, Goman, and Horwell, the trip leaders, we learn that not everyone believed them to
be fit to guide the trip. By comparing these multiple viewpoints, it becomes clear that if the group had
taken the correct precautions and listened to the weather report, they may be alive

Essay About Summer Camp
Summer Camp
It was summer of 2013 and it was my first time traveling alone. I was going to Champéry,
Switzerland. I felt excited because it s a part of the world which I haven t visited before. Going to the
airport by myself and going through customs was a bit of a hassle, but nothing I can t handle. When I
arrived at Champéry by train, I had to walk to the camp which not that far Just a 10 minute walk. As I
walked to there the scenery was breathtaking. It was so green and surrounded with mountains where
you can see white peaks because of the snow. You can see the cows wandering around on the hills and
hear their jiggling bells.
As I reached the camp, the manager was there greeting the new arrivals and the place we were staying
at was this big 4 floor wooden house. The staff there were so friendly and welcoming. Everyone there
was from different parts of the world. In the first day, they gave us a chance to go around and socialize
and get familiar with the place because it ll be my home for the next 5 weeks. At first it was hard to
communicate to people there because we all speak different languages, but we all know to talk English
which was a life saver.
When I started to walk around and get to know people there and I was surprised on how diverse the
camp was, there were Spanish, Portuguese Russians, and English and many more. When ... Show

just scraped my face. When I got up my face was bloody because of the rocks. Then I spent the rest of

China s Second Largest Travel And Tourism Economy After...
China is only flourishing as the years go by, and it is only going to continue to flourish because of the
way society is brought upon them. It is essential to know the importance of tourism and all the
positive and negative attributes it has to offer. China is the world s second largest travel and tourism
economy after the United States by 2015 , according to a new report from the World Travel Tourism
Council (WTTC). China s tourist appeal is very different from any other countries outside of East
Asia, offering a variety of things to do and places to visit. China is an exotic country with new sights
and experiences to enjoy, and has an extraordinary culture waiting for you to discover. English is
rarely spoken by locals, and seemingly everything about the culture is backwards from what you
know, but if you re up for the challenge, you ll be rewarded with a truly spectacular experience (Vans
Hinbergh). China is a very large country and with that, has many traditions and customs depending on
what geography and ethnicity you are located in the country. More than 1 billion people live in China,
according to the Asia Society, representing 56 ethnic minority groups. The largest group is the Han
Chinese, with about 900 million people (Zimmermann). It s a country that is rapidly developing new
architectures and quite frankly, losing a lot of its history to Western destruction and should be visited
soon to grasp the culture they have to offer. China s culture happens to

A Comparison of George Orwell s Totalitarian World of...
Orwell s Totalitarian World of 1984 is America in 2004
Orwell s allegorical critique of Stalinism in 1984 is often used in capitalist nations as a poignant
literary attack on Communism and other collectivist economic and political systems. The argument
often follows the lines of This is socialism, and as you can see, it doesn t work and just leads to
oppression. We re in a nice capitalist democracy, therefore we are better off. But is that conclusion the
truth?
Orwell didn t just intend 1984 as an attack on communism or socialism; instead it is both an attack and
a rather prophetic warning against any authoritarian structure, including the authoritarian structure of
capitalist democracies. Often we do not equate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The powerful get away with this through propaganda and bias in the media. The telescreens of
America come in the forms of CNN or the New York Times. The corporate media touts the successes
of democracy in foreign nations without saying how it was achieved (through U.S. military and
economic interventions). It has reached the point where the powerful have set America into a
perpetual state of doublethink, where our leaders say one thing but mean the other.
To find examples of this doublethink, one needs only to look at the works of linguistics pioneer Noam
Chomsky. For the last few decades, Chomsky has focused his work on the connections between
language and politics. In his latest book, Profit Over People, Chomsky is forced to differentiate
between democracy (as we think it is) and really existing democratic theory (the counter democratic
system that actually exists). Most of the nations of Latin America and Southeast Asia are currently
running under the really existing democratic theory pushed on them by the USA, a system where real
democracy is only allowed if it serves the business interests of America. Chomsky describes in depth
this anti democracy in many of his works such as What Uncle Sam Really Wants.
The same problems exist with free trade. The media leads Americans to believe that free trade is a
system with glorious benefits for everyone, in which all people are free to participate

Public Finance
public finance is the study of the financial activities of governments and public authorities. divided
into three categories: a Knowing what activities the public sector engages in and how these are
organized (that is, revenue gathering and expenditures) b Understanding and foreseeing the full
consequences of these governmental activities c Evaluating alternative policies.
The positive side describes the activities of the public sector, explains the reasons of the programs in
existence and also analyses the consequences of government policies
The normative side, on the other hand, is concerned with designing new policies that meet certain
objectives.

Aboriginal Women Research Paper
Aboriginal women face disproportionate challenges throughout their incarceration which impacts their
successful community reintegration. Over the last ten years, inmate assaults involving Aboriginal
women have exponentially grown, almost doubling, while use of force incidents have more than
tripled. Rates of self injury involving incarcerated Aboriginal women are seventeen times higher than
that of non Aboriginal women. To agree with Baldry, Carlton, and Cunneen, using Indigenous women
as a focus point is beneficial because their experiences embody and exemplify the intersections
between colonial and neocolonial oppression and the multiple sites of gender and disadvantage and
inequality that stem from patriarchal domination. Cunneen highlights that Indigenous women actually
live in many prisons ; the prison of misunderstanding; the prison of misogyny; and the prison of
disempowerment. Patricia Monture insists that one way women can resist oppression and facilitate
social change is by telling their own stories. The Task Force for Federally Sentenced Women
developed a report called Creating Choices, which attempted to relocate the power to make choices in
womens lives out of the hands of prison officials and back to the women themselves because,
according to the findings of the Task Force, it is only when people are treated with respect and when
they are empowered can they take responsibility for their actions and make meaningful decisions.
Monture Okanee reflects on the irony of the final report ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

He created the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to protect the revolution within his country and keep the conventional army forces, who remained loyal to the Shah, from rising up against him. Iran cut all ties with the United States and lost its dominance in the area; it s army was disorganized and weak. The Iranian Revolution created disorder in many Iranian military units and Iranian confrontation with the U.S. ensured it would be cut off from its primary weapons supplier. During the year after the fall of the Shah, many areas of Iran were approaching civil war; this frenzy in Iran made the country seem much more vulnerable than it really was, and led Saddam Hussein to feel he had his first genuine opportunity to make Iraq the dominant power in the area and the Arab world (Cordesman Wagner, 1990). Hussein knew that there was a possibility that the Shi a population in Iraq could rise against him, but he also knew there was a chance that he could get the Arabs in the southwest regions or Iran to rally behind him. Iran publicly supported Shi a and Kurdish rebellion in Iraq and due to tense relationships and continued border clashes over territorial disputes, tensions increased. Everyone has parents; it s inevitable. Whether or not children believe that their parents behave in a way to benefit them is a decision they choose to make. These statements differ from reality, parents truly represent some of the greatest people in our world; they do serve a purpose and they impact their children immensely. For some children, they may see the discipline from their parents as their parents failing at their jobs. In actuality, parents need to discipline to structure their children into mature adults. They need to show love and forgiveness even though sometimes it may seem impossible. Children will become the future and parents hold responsibility for that. Therefore, parents must mold them into adults that our future needs. A good parent should model three essential qualities: forgiveness, discipline, and love. The first essential quality includes a good parent modeling forgiveness. For example, my grandmother spent the majority of her relationship with her husband, my grandfather, battling against alcohol. Countless times, she fought against my grandfather and his addiction to alcohol. After 15 years and five children, my grandfather gave up fighting against alcohol, and he won; he became sober. My grandmother didn t give up, she didn t back down, and she didn t throw away their marriage; she forgave. Their marriage may not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Named for it s lack of military action, the Cold War was hardly a war at all but more an arms race between American democracy and Russian Communism. Following the introduction of the IBM s, Secretary of State John Foster Dulles coined the policy known as Massive retaliation , dictating that any major Soviet attack would be met with a massive nuclear response. Inspired by fear and skeptical assumptions of what the Soviet Union could do, this policy in turn acted as an empty unneeded form of retaliation, attempting to discourage any possible Soviet Union capitalization. But, after all these threats, Dulles acts upon this assumption declaring that the United States will protect its allies through the deterrent of massive retaliatory power. The policy announcement was further evidence of the Eisenhower administration s decision to rely heavily on the nation s nuclear arsenal as the primary means of defense against communist aggression, ( Dulles Announces Policy of massive Retaliation ). Later, in the 1960 s, the strategic doctrine known as Mutually Assured Destruction was developed as a scapegoat in case Russia ever gained superiority over the United States. As the U. K. entered the common market (EEC) in the early 1970s. A sharp rise in demand from our new European neighbours for The English Language landed on our shores. Due to the modernization of secondary schools not only in Europe but indeed worldwide, languages were a hot commodity and many were on offer, English being most sort after. This demand equally put educators, linguists and language experts under immense pressure to come up with something new and not as it were traditional methods or approaches e.g. audio linguistics which had been around since the end of the Second World War. History has shown us time and time again even through all the violence and chaos in the world and America, that there is a reason for the creation of the second amendment. From history of America independence in 1776 to the ratification of the bill of right in 1791 the 2nd amendment still remains relevant form it creation, to modern times, and the protection of America s future; for the freedom of its inhabitants and citizens. • 13. Vedic And The Vedic Period The Vedic period lasted from c. 1750 to 500 BCE. The Vedic texts were arranged when the Indo Aryans started to inhabit the Ganges plain. With this new settlement, it transitioned to an agricultural society, and in the need for organization the society created a hierarchical government. The society had to include older habitants of the Ganges plain, and incorporated them under the Aryan varnas. They also had to appoint political and religious authority to the Brahmins and Kshatriyas. The Vedas, also called Śruti, center on the worship of the elements like fire and rivers, worship of heroic gods like Indra, Varuna and Agni, chanting of hymns and performance of sacrifices. God Indra became the central deity of the developing Old Indic culture. The philosophy of Vedanta transformed the Vedic worldview to monistic one. This led to the development of tantric metaphysics and gave rise to new forms of yoga, such as jnana yoga and bhankti yoga. People prayed for abundance of children, rain, cattle (wealth), long life and an afterlife in the heavenly world of the ancestors. This mode of worship has been preserved since then in Hinduism. Despite many of the setbacks, interruptions, and serious crises Tunisia has been through these past few years, as long as they do not have any more upheavals of power, the evidence seems to prove they can transform their government into a more stable democracy. In contrast, Egypt also attempted to become democratic, but soon after reverted back to an authoritarian and oppressive regime that has become increasingly more militaristic, and at the moment it seems that a new attempt of becoming democratic is unlikely to start unless people decide on gathering again and participating in other uprisings. The book immediately got me thinking if I could achieve such sleep success by using French methods. This week I m continuning to study the book along with Kelly from The Primarily Insipired. Here you can read my full post on French parenting and how they deal with baby s sleep issues along with children s behavioral problems. I m very curious to know, what is your approach to baby s sleep issues and what methods worked for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Emily Dickinson Death Be Not Proud The poems Death, be not proud by John Donne, Because I could not stop for death , and I heard a fly buzz when I died both written by Emily Dickinson are three timeless poems that present the theme of death, in a very abnormal manner. In Death, be not proud John Donne approaches death by addressing, personifying, and belittling death. Emily Dickinson s Because I could not stop for death reflects Dickinson s metaphysical ideas on death to ease and persuade people to accept it. I heard a fly buzz when I died also written by Emily Dickinson is an unsettling poem written from the perspective of someone dying. All these poems uniquely examine death by lecturing it, accepting it, and imagining it. Death, be not proud written by John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This poem is about the actual moment of death, something that most people do not want to think about. The author bravely and brilliantly imagined her own death, which was unheard of in those times. In the poem, Dickinson has signed her will, said goodbye to her loved ones, and then as she heaves her last breaths, she becomes preoccupied by a fly trying to escape out of the room. I willed my Keepsakes Signed away... and then it was There interposed a Fly (Dickinson) Some people think this poem has a humorous tone because of the fly, but numerous people think this poem was not meant to be humorous, but instead sad and dark. Many believe the fly represents the devil; moreover, the poem ends with her dying and darkness. In this poem Dickinson does not give the readers the sense that she goes to heaven when she imagined dying. All of these noteworthy poems depict death in their own captivating way. In Death, be not proud the author skillfully used personification and many other literary devices to illustrate death. I could not stop for death also limns and personifies death differently than Death, be not proud . Arrogant of striking fear into humans, is how Donne portrays and talks to death in Death, be not proud , while in I could not stop for death Dickinson portrays death as a polite gentleman. • 27. Mount Hood Case Study Analysis Now that the background of the disaster is known, we can begin to analyze its many components. From the leadership skills or lack thereof, to the heuristic traps the hikers fell into, to the many voices that bring multiple views of this climb to life, the 1986 Oregon Episcopal School climb is one that has people wondering how so many lost their lives in a seemingly simple trip. In doing this we are able to see how this disaster could have been prevented allowing us to learn from the mistakes of this tragic event. The leadership, group functioning, experience, and skill of the nineteen individuals who made their way up Mount Hood can be used to analyze the very basics of what went wrong atop the mountain. Though there was a trained ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those who survived the tragedy bring the voice of what it was really like up on the mountain to life. The parents of students who didn t survive bring the feeling of grief and the opinion that the school was never prepared enough to take kids up the mountain (Hallman, 2014). Though some hold the school responsible, others believe that the leaders provided were adequate as was the equipment. The media also provides an interesting view into the climb. Because they bring the voices of the parents, community, and survivors together, the recordings from May 12th through 15th prove to be valuable when dissecting the events that occurred. Newspapers, magazines, and television reports all freeze this disaster in place among the records of Mount Hood. Finally, the voices of the public provide interesting insight on the climbers and leaders who failed to come back home. Through contrasting views of Summers, Goman, and Horwell, the trip leaders, we learn that not everyone believed them to be fit to guide the trip. By comparing these multiple viewpoints, it becomes clear that if the group had taken the correct precautions and listened to the weather report, they may be alive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Essay About Summer Camp Summer Camp It was summer of 2013 and it was my first time traveling alone. I was going to Champéry, Switzerland. I felt excited because it s a part of the world which I haven t visited before. Going to the airport by myself and going through customs was a bit of a hassle, but nothing I can t handle. When I arrived at Champéry by train, I had to walk to the camp which not that far Just a 10 minute walk. As I walked to there the scenery was breathtaking. It was so green and surrounded with mountains where you can see white peaks because of the snow. You can see the cows wandering around on the hills and hear their jiggling bells. As I reached the camp, the manager was there greeting the new arrivals and the place we were staying at was this big 4 floor wooden house. The staff there were so friendly and welcoming. Everyone there was from different parts of the world. In the first day, they gave us a chance to go around and socialize and get familiar with the place because it ll be my home for the next 5 weeks. At first it was hard to communicate to people there because we all speak different languages, but we all know to talk English which was a life saver. When I started to walk around and get to know people there and I was surprised on how diverse the camp was, there were Spanish, Portuguese Russians, and English and many more. When ... • 29. China s Second Largest Travel And Tourism Economy After... China is only flourishing as the years go by, and it is only going to continue to flourish because of the way society is brought upon them. It is essential to know the importance of tourism and all the positive and negative attributes it has to offer. China is the world s second largest travel and tourism economy after the United States by 2015 , according to a new report from the World Travel Tourism Council (WTTC). China s tourist appeal is very different from any other countries outside of East Asia, offering a variety of things to do and places to visit. China is an exotic country with new sights and experiences to enjoy, and has an extraordinary culture waiting for you to discover. English is rarely spoken by locals, and seemingly everything about the culture is backwards from what you know, but if you re up for the challenge, you ll be rewarded with a truly spectacular experience (Vans Hinbergh). China is a very large country and with that, has many traditions and customs depending on what geography and ethnicity you are located in the country. More than 1 billion people live in China, according to the Asia Society, representing 56 ethnic minority groups. The largest group is the Han Chinese, with about 900 million people (Zimmermann). It s a country that is rapidly developing new architectures and quite frankly, losing a lot of its history to Western destruction and should be visited soon to grasp the culture they have to offer. • 30. A Comparison of George Orwell s Totalitarian World of... Orwell s Totalitarian World of 1984 is America in 2004 Orwell s allegorical critique of Stalinism in 1984 is often used in capitalist nations as a poignant literary attack on Communism and other collectivist economic and political systems. The argument often follows the lines of This is socialism, and as you can see, it doesn t work and just leads to oppression. We re in a nice capitalist democracy, therefore we are better off. But is that conclusion the truth? Orwell didn t just intend 1984 as an attack on communism or socialism; instead it is both an attack and a rather prophetic warning against any authoritarian structure, including the authoritarian structure of capitalist democracies. The telescreens of America come in the forms of CNN or the New York Times. The corporate media touts the successes of democracy in foreign nations without saying how it was achieved (through U.S. military and economic interventions). It has reached the point where the powerful have set America into a perpetual state of doublethink, where our leaders say one thing but mean the other. To find examples of this doublethink, one needs only to look at the works of linguistics pioneer Noam Chomsky. For the last few decades, Chomsky has focused his work on the connections between language and politics. In his latest book, Profit Over People, Chomsky is forced to differentiate between democracy (as we think it is) and really existing democratic theory (the counter democratic system that actually exists). Most of the nations of Latin America and Southeast Asia are currently running under the really existing democratic theory pushed on them by the USA, a system where real democracy is only allowed if it serves the business interests of America. Chomsky describes in depth this anti democracy in many of his works such as What Uncle Sam Really Wants. The same problems exist with free trade. The media leads Americans to believe that free trade is a system with glorious benefits for everyone, in which all people are free to participate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. Aboriginal Women Research Paper Aboriginal women face disproportionate challenges throughout their incarceration which impacts their successful community reintegration. Over the last ten years, inmate assaults involving Aboriginal women have exponentially grown, almost doubling, while use of force incidents have more than tripled. Rates of self injury involving incarcerated Aboriginal women are seventeen times higher than that of non Aboriginal women. To agree with Baldry, Carlton, and Cunneen, using Indigenous women as a focus point is beneficial because their experiences embody and exemplify the intersections between colonial and neocolonial oppression and the multiple sites of gender and disadvantage and inequality that stem from patriarchal domination. Cunneen highlights that Indigenous women actually live in many prisons ; the prison of misunderstanding; the prison of misogyny; and the prison of disempowerment. Patricia Monture insists that one way women can resist oppression and facilitate social change is by telling their own stories. The Task Force for Federally Sentenced Women developed a report called Creating Choices, which attempted to relocate the power to make choices in womens lives out of the hands of prison officials and back to the women themselves because, according to the findings of the Task Force, it is only when people are treated with respect and when they are empowered can they take responsibility for their actions and make meaningful decisions.
