We’ve been using CMS to manage website content for 20+ years. But the world has changed. Today, we live in a multi-channel world. People spend more time using mobile than desktop. Traditional CMS products weren’t built for these scenarios, in most cases, they were built as a coupled CMS for websites.
We need a new breed of CMS that will better support multi-channel digital experiences. Headless approach separates content management and its presentation.
Cloud-first headless CMS provides huge benefits for modern marketers and developers. It’s not just a temporary trend for some niche market, it will change the CMS world over the next five years.
Go to www.kenticocloud.com and see what a cloud-first headless CMS can do for you.

Blogging refers to writing, photography, and other media that's self-published online. Blogging started as an opportunity for individuals to write diary-style entries, but it has since been incorporated into websites for many businesses. The hallmarks of blogging include frequent updates, informal language, and opportunities for readers to engage and start a conversation.
Here's an overview of what a blog is, why it's popular, and tips for starting your own blog.
What Is Blogging?
The word blog is actually a shortened form of its original name, "weblog." These weblogs allowed early internet users to "log" the details of their day in diary-style entries. Blogs often allow readers to comment, so as they became more common, communities sprung up around popular blogs.
Note
The content of blogs varies significantly. For example, travel blogs may feature many pictures with few written passages, while political blogs may weigh in with wordy takes on the news of the day. The popularity of YouTube and similar sites also gave rise to video blogging, or "vlogging."
Like most internet-based innovations, many entrepreneurs saw marketing potential in having a blog, and the adoption of blogging among the business community helped further increase the popularity of the medium. Not only can a blog be used for marketing a business, but it can also become a home business in and of itself.

INTRODUCTION:
As part of the overall strategy to build a successful Info business you need to create content on a regular basis. Content in the form of articles or videos (whichever you prefer)… And therefore you’ll need a website to put this content on it. This website can be called your content site, or your official site.
This guide will also show you how to design the homepage of this website.
And there are two main ways (or templates) to build this content site. You’ll discover both of them below. Choose whichever suit your particular business the most.
Blog Post Checklist for WordPress Authors was delivered at WordCamp Tampa 2015 by Aaron Weiss of Tampa SEO Training Academy. This presentation provides a pre-publication checklist for blog posts that helps writers and bloggers develop a logical flow for each blog post they publish. This talk explains how to get the most out of WordPress’s core features, teach simple search engine friendly concepts, help writers develop habits that help them write better blog posts, and recommend free and premium plugins that help facilitate publication. By following each item in a checklist, you can create a standard operating procedure that ensures your blog post takes advantage of all features, is optimized, and ready to be shared, no matter who is developing content for your website.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.

How to Add Content 101
• When you click on “Add Content”, you will get 2 default
basic content types:
• #1: Article
• The Article content type (formerly known as “story”) is used to
add content such as news or information – content that is
updated/added more frequently.
• Articles can be cross-referenced and categorised, and are
usually sorted with the most recent post at the top; although
this can be customised with contributed modules, e.g. Views,
but we will go into that another time.
8. 04/16/13 8
How to Add Content 101
• When you click on “Add Content”, you will get 2 default
basic content types:
• #2: Basic Page
• The Basic Page content type is typically to create pages that
have static content (meaning you don’t change it often).
• These are usually linked to the main navigation bar but are
certainly not required to.
9. 04/16/13 9
How to Add Content 101
• Other Content Types & Users
• Yes, you can add other content types such as forms or polls
• You can also have multiple users for one website (just like
WordPress).
• Of course, this is more in-depth and we will cover other
content types as well as users in subsequent posts.
• If you would like a little read about users, check out Richard’s
take on it as he builds a website.
11. 04/16/13 11
• The “title” is self-explanatory.
• The “tags” below that is what Drupalists call “taxonomy”.
As our Drupal expert Richard explains in his
post about taxonomy, it is basically classifying your content
with organisational keywords
• It is the same as “tags” in WordPress and allows you to
connect, relate and classify your website content.
• You can also choose to add an image to your Article if you
wish to.
Creating your Article: Content
13. 04/16/13 13
Creating your Article: Content
• The “body” is where you fill in your main content.
• If you look at the bottom of it, you’ll see 3 different text
formats you can use: “Filtered HTML”, “Full HTML” and
“plain text”.
• There is a guide there that you can use to see which format
is the best for you.
14. 04/16/13 14
Creating your Article: Content
• Personally, I know some HTML so “Full HTML” is what I like
so that I can customise the look of my “body” text.
• Next to the word “Body”, you will find a link that says “Edit
Summary”. When you click on this, a new box for a
Summary will appear.
16. 04/16/13 16
Creating your Article: Content
• What this means is that you can create a Summary of your
Body text in the Summary box.
• This is similar to a meta description.
• If you do not wish to fill this part up, no worries. Drupal will
just take the first paragraph or so from your Body text and
use it as a Summary.
• Now the bottom part before you click “Save” or “Preview”
can get a little tricky, so let me explain it one by one to
help us all out.
18. 04/16/13 18
Creating your Article: Menu Settings
• For “Menu settings”, the default setting is to not a provide
a “menu link”.
• A “menu link” is for connecting your content type to the
main navigational bar, aka your menu, which makes it more
like a page.
• As you don’t really do this for the Article content type and
leave the “Menu settings” as its default of no menu link, I
will explain more about this when we touch on the Basic
Page content type later in this guide.
20. 04/16/13 20
Creating your Article: Revision Info.
• This option is of a higher-level and is more complicated,
which I may touch on much later in this series (I gotta learn
it too!). But for now, do just leave it as it is.
22. 04/16/13 22
Creating your Article: URL path settings
• URL path settings basically mean the URL for your Article,
e.g.
• The main default as shown above is to “Generate automatic
URL alias” which means Drupal will automatically create a
URL for your Article based on your Article Title.
• In this case, it will be “content/welcome” as my title is
‘Welcome’.
24. 04/16/13 24
Creating your Article: URL path settings
• If you uncheck this, you will be able to create a custom URL
for your Article so it’s entirely up to you.
• With Article content types that have a very long title, it is
certainly helpful to create a custom URL where you shorten
it to what you want if you wish to.
26. 04/16/13 26
Creating your Article: Comment settings
• This is pretty self-explanatory.
• You can choose whether or not you want others to comment
on the posts you make.
• Of course, commenting cannot happen until you finish your
local Drupal site and actually put it online, which may be
covered later on (a Google search has indicated the level
needed to put it online!).
28. 04/16/13 28
Creating your Article: Authoring info.
• Authoring information lets you customise the name you
want to post under
• Subsequently, as you develop further, you may have more
users on your Drupal site (e.g if you have multiple
contributors/collaborators) and you can choose to post
under their names instead of your own.
• You can also choose a specific date and time that you want
to show as the the date/time you posted this Article.
30. 04/16/13 30
Creating your Article: Publishing options
• There are 3 options here for your ‘Publishing options’:
• Published
• You can choose whether you want to publish your Article right
away or leave it as a draft. Uncheck this box if you want to
leave it as a draft.
• Promoted to front page
• Checking this box basically means that this Article will show up
on your front page, aka your home page.
• Sticky at top of lists
• A “sticky” means that this Article you are about to publish/save
will be on top of all your lists, e.g. forum lists, front page lists.
31. 04/16/13 31
Creating your Article
• And that’s pretty much the basics of how to add the Article
content type to your basic Drupal site!
• Save your awesome first post, and you’ll get something like
mine:
32. 04/16/13 32

First Article created!
• In case you're wondering, for my Article, I did the following:
• Didn't provide a menu link
• Went with the default for Revision information & URL path
settings
• Allowed comments
• Left the Authoring information as default
• Set my Article to "Published" & "Promoted to front page”.
36. 04/16/13 36
Creating your Basic Page: Content
• Just like the Article content type, you have your
• Title
• Body
• Option to include a Summary about the page.
38. 04/16/13 38
Creating your Basic Page: Content
• You also have the same “Text format” options and the same
options before you publish, as per the Article content type.
• Now let’s go into them one by one to see how different it is
from the Article.
40. 04/16/13 40
Creating your Basic Page: Menu settings
• For “Menu settings”, the default setting is to not a provide
a “menu link”.
• A “menu link” is for connecting your content type to the
main navigational bar, aka your menu, which makes it more
like a page.
41. 04/16/13 41
Creating your Basic Page: Menu settings
• As you now have a Basic Page content type (this can be
called “About”, “Contact”, “News”, whatever you would
like), you want it to be added to the navigational bar so
that it will be like other websites that have “Home”,
“About”, “News”, “Contact”, etc.
• So check the box, and you will get this:
43. 04/16/13 43
Creating your Basic Page: Menu settings
• Menu link title
• This is basically what you want to call your Basic Page in the
navigational bar.
• For example, the title of your Basic Page is “About My
Company”, it is a little too long for your navigational bar so you
would just put “About” for the ‘Menu link title’.
44. 04/16/13 44
Creating your Basic Page: Menu settings
• What happens when you save it later, is that your
navigational bar will show “About” while the title in your
window will show “About My Company”, like this:
46. 04/16/13 46
Creating your Basic Page: Menu settings
• Description
• The description is shown when the cursor (aka your little
mouse arrow) is hovered (aka placed over) the Menu link title,
like this:
48. 04/16/13 48
Creating your Basic Page: Menu settings
• Parent item
There are 2 options under Parent item.
1. Main menu
• This is the default setting. By selecting this, your Basic Page
will appear in your navigational bar.
2. –Home
• As you add more Basic Page content types, there will be more
of these options “–Basic Page”. Selecting this option means
that your Basic Page will be added as a sub-menu item, which
will be explained in subsequent posts.
49. 04/16/13 49
Creating your Basic Page: Menu settings
• For now, as this is a basic guide on how to add content to
your basic Drupal site, we will go with the default setting
of “Main menu”.
50. 04/16/13 50
Creating your Basic Page: Menu settings
• Weight
• ‘Weight’ matters for the organisation of Basic Page content
types in your navigational bar. If you leave it as the default 0,
it means that the Basic Page you just created will be the first
tab in your navigational bar:
52. 04/16/13 52
Creating your Basic Page: Menu settings
• As we all know that “Home” comes before “About”, we
need to change this and we go about it by changing the
‘Weight’.
• By changing the weight to ’1′ (a positive digit 1), this will
let “About” come after “Home”:

Creating your Basic Page: Revision info.
• As mentioned above, this is of a higher-level, which I may
touch on much later in this series but for now, do just leave
it as it is.

Creating your Basic Page: URL path settings
• Like the Article, URL path settings basically mean the URL
for your Basic Page, e.g.
http://www.MyDrupalSite.com/content/MyFirstBasicPage.
• The main default as shown above is to “Generate automatic

Creating your Basic Page: Authoring info.
• Authoring information is also the same as the Article
content type.
• It is up to you to choose whoever you wish to place as the
author (when you have more users) and the time/date you
wish to have others see as your posting time/date.

Creating your Basic Page: Publishing options
• For ‘Publishing options’, all you have to do is choose
whether you want your Basic Page ‘Published’ or not as it
will already be on your navigational bar, so you don’t need
it promoted to the front page or as a sticky.
