KubeCI - Cloud Native Continuous Delivery for KubernetesTobias Schneck
Getting CI/CD pipelines to work on Kubernetes is a tricky endeavor, especially if you are looking for a Cloud Native CI/CD solution.
KubeCI is an open source Continuous Delivery system built on Drone for Kubernetes. A simple YAML configuration file is used to the define and execute pipelines inside Kubernetes Pods.
We will talk about why CI/CD pipelines are painful today. We will do some live coding, and show you how KubeCI can make a CI/CD deployment on Kubernetes simple. The audience will get insights about why we build KubeCI and how we want to extend it in the future.
KUBEBOOT - SPRING BOOT DEPLOYMENT ON KUBERNETESAlex Soto
Have you ever thought how to deploy Cloud Native Java Applications (Spring Boot) on Kubernetes? Kubernetes has now become a de-facto standard for deploying Cloud Native Applications, but still there is myth that they are not ready for Java workloads. The aim of this session is to break that myth to show Kubernetes is well suited for Cloud Native Java applications.
The session explores the cloud native characteristics such as Discovery, Blue/Green Deployments, Elasticity, Canary Deployments, Resiliency, Pipeline(CI/CD), Authentication etc., becomes implicit characteristics to your Spring Boot Java applications that are deployed on Kubernetes
In this session, we will see how to build, debug, deploy and discover Spring Boot applications on Kubernetes, covering in depth details of the tools, libraries and platform that could be used to make your spring boot deployment smooth and easy.

PuppetConf 2017: What’s in the Box?!- Leveraging Puppet Enterprise & Docker- ...Puppet
“Docker, Docker, Docker.” It’s a phrase we hear often, but what are containers, what can they be used for, and why should you know more about them? In this session, Grace (Puppet) and Tricia (AppDynamics) will introduce attendees to Docker and help them build and deploy their first container with Puppet. They will leverage the docker_image_build module from the Puppet Forge and take attendees through the proper workflow for coupling Docker and Puppet together. The session will focus on how to use some of the newest Docker features, such as multi-stage build files and password stores within Docker so you can pass "secrets" to a swarm for login credentials. The goal is to provide newcomers with a working proficiency of how to get started deploying containers using Puppet as their automation tool.
Intro to OpenShift, MongoDB Atlas & Live DemoMongoDB
Get the fundamentals on working with containers in the cloud. In this session, you will learn how to run and manage containers in production. We'll level set with a quick intro to Kubernetes and OpenShift, so you understand some basic terminology. From there, it's all live demo. We’ll spin up Java, MongoDB (including Atlas, the hosted DBaas), integrate code from Github, and make some shiny JSON spatial services. Finally, we’ll cover best practices in using containers when going to production with an application, and answer all of your questions.
Docker allows simple environment isolation and repeatability so that we can create a run-time environment once, package it up, then run it again on any other machine. Furthermore, everything that runs in that environment is isolated from the underlying host (much like a virtual machine). And best of all, everything is fast and simple.
This presentation, we’ll provide basic introduction. What is Docker? why to use it? and demonstrate how we can use Docker to compose and deploy an application.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
