Every month, about 50 kilograms of waste is collected. The students are then taught how to turn the discarded material into things like pencil holders, ashtrays, wallets and baskets. We also encouraged students to do rubbish cleanups on roads, this also provides students opportunity to interact with locals as well as instilling environmental awareness.
Their products are sold at SAM-held exhibitions and at Medan area schools. They are also available at certain bookshops and restaurants that support SAM
Organic products are still in start-up mode presently, only for self-use due to lack of funds.
