1. How does your media product
represent particular social
groups?
2. Middle class females
• Our Title sequence consists of one female who is meant to be in her mid to
late 20’s she is represented to be strong and powerful which is un-
conventional of women in Hollywood films. The female character is still
sexualised. However, this isn’t seen as a negative and it isn’t this way for
the purpose of a male audience. Her sexuality is in fact her strength and
she uses it to her benefit. She would fit into the psychographics of either an
explorer or an aspirer because she is quite materialistic and fashionable.
However, she Is also challenging of herself. Her social grade would be B
because she falls into the demographic of middle class. We tried to
represent females to be able to achieve as much as a male in terms of a
career but also control. We did this in a way that reversed the roles of what
would be seen in a Hollywood film.
4. Middle class males
The male victim is presented to be a high end working class guy, this is
shown through him wearing a suit. He is represented to be inferior to
the lead character because he is in her house. Therefore, he isn’t aware
of his surroundings and she is the one taking control. For instance she
pours the drinks and she is the one leading him at all times when they
are walking. In terms of psychographics he would fall into the category
of a mainstreamer because he is shown to be quite ordinary and a
conformist. He would have the same Demographic as the lead Female
which is a social grade of B and a social status of Working Class.
