In the year 1998, Clinton was investigated and then accused of improperly using money from the
company Whitewater Development and using it to fund one of his previous campaigns. However,
what made the public hostile towards Clinton would have to be the discovery that he possibly had an
affair with White House Intern, Monica Lewinsky. He even lied about it under a presidential oath on
national television, despite their being clear evidence. It was after these two events that the demand
to impeach President Clinton arose. When it came down to the final vote of the Senate in 1999, both
impeachment requests did not receive 2/3 vote from the Senate. Clinton would escape impeachment
and be able to finish off his term.

Weinstein story is the most disturbing thing she experienced. That is what caused her to press
charges. 30 women have emerged to tell of their disturbing experience with Weinstein. Weinstein
has denied all of the things they said. Hill is currently 61 and a professor. She has been buoyed by
the attention she received. This is bigger than anything in the past. She said there is a key problem
that many women still did not come forward and share the truth, so many harassment cases are not
reported.

advice to today's political leaders and even future political leaders. However, before that I will like
to set briefly the ball rolling with my personal history.
Personal History
I was born in January, 1939 in Rosemont, a small village in Maryland of a few hundred people. My
father was a World War I veteran and my mother a sort of teacher, running some version of a reading
school for the kids in the community. 1939 means I was born in the same year that the Second World
War began and that earned me the nickname "the baby's that's getting his father to go to another
war".
However, my father developed a terminal illness that meant that his participation in World War 2
would only be to explain the essence and likely ramification of reported war incidents and
statements to myself and my four siblings. Inspired by my father's war stories especially those that
detailed the extent that many American soldiers would go to defend their country, and also by the
early Cold War politicking, I enrolled in the US Naval Academy and passed out in 1955. At the time,
the Cold War was at its height and as was more than likely at the time, I fought in the Vietnam War
in the 1960s.

A large number of Americans now believe that a political figure such as a president, senator, judge,

On August 6, Lewinsky appeared before the grand jury to begin her testimony, and on August 17
President Clinton testified. Contrary to his testimony in the Paula Jones sexual–harassment case,

had had an extramarital affair with Ms. Lewinsky. In four hours of closed–door testimony,
conducted in the Map Room of the White House, Clinton spoke live via closed–circuit television to

Johnson took over control after John Wilkes Booth assassinated President Lincoln. Johnson was a
Union man, but was from the south. He believed that America was for white men. Johnson would

It was basically on every channel, the House of Representative voted to impeach President Bill
Clinton. I remember the news asking people what they thought. The people they asked were divided.
The older crowd was for his removal from office and the younger crowd was against it.

In 1867, the Republicans passed the Tenure of Office Act that occurred over the president's veto.
According to the Tenure of Office Act, the president did not possess enough power to remove an
official that was put in office through senatorial approval. The act was mainly meant to protect those
officials who were Republicans. Late 1867, President Johnson decided to put the constitutionality of
the Tenure of Office Act to the test, this was done by replacing Stanton with Ulysses Grant.
However, Johnson was forced to return the office back to Stanton after the Senate had put in place a
measure to protest the president's move. On February 21, 1968, Johnston decided to do away with

This assignment asks us to compare and contrast the impeachment proceedings of Presidents
Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon and William Clinton, while identifying the ethical dilemmas
presented by each. In addition, students are to categorize the ethical violations of each President by
severity and discuss whether the actions by the Senate were politically motivated or ethical. The
initial similarity obviously lies in the fact that these three gentlemen belong to a very small club of
which they are the only members; Presidents who have been impeached. President Clinton
