The security services is usually outsourced which is efficient, alert well trained and dedicated team of security men. Along with security personnel, other systems needs to be introduced to support the security personnel and restrict traffic. (i) Use of attendant pass (ii) Use of identify card for staff (iii) Use of metal detectors (iv) Dedicated luggage room for patients

Dir. (Admn) - Member JOB FUNCTION: The committee to meet once a month to review the security system. Make policy and guidelines for deployment of security at various points. Selection of security agency and making terms and conditions. Signing of contract with security agency. Carrying out periodic security audit. Checking bio data and police verification of security men.

DEPLOYMENT AT THE ENTRANCE & EXIT GATES TO HOSPITAL AT THE ENTRANCE & EXIST TO THE BUILDING AT SENSITIVE POINTS LIKE (OPD, EMERG & FEMALE PAEDIATRIC WARDS, ADMN AREA) PARKING Over and above this three tier system of deployment, central control room. There should be an area incharge and one patrolling team. The area in charge to deploy security man in his area. Petrolling team to make surprise petrol to check alertness of security area.

11. ELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM The entire security network is connected to computer through a server. The security personnel sitting at surveillance centre can monitor activities in various areas of the hospital. The system has a recording provision, where activities are constantly recorded and can be viewed as and when required. People working in surveillance room are well trained and familiar with functioning of the computers in the system. The system has automatic alarm system, initiated of there is a breech in security or intruder trying to fiddle with the system. There should be SOP to run the system. Electronic engineers are responsible of maintenance of system. It has a viral protection system to preserve data and not destroyed. The system functions round the clock and continuously record data .

13. MIXED SECURITY SYSTEM It is better to have a mixed security system. In certain sensitive area guards should be physically deployed to take immediate action like emergency and wards, gates. Other areas can have electronic screening and close circuit T.V. The mixed system will be cost effective as well as more efficient and can avoid immediate security risks like man handling and protection of staff. What ever be the system objective is to safety of man, material and infrastructure.
