This document describes a hospital management system project created by Purbita Sen, a final year B.Pharm student at Bengal School of Technology under the supervision of Mr. Soumen Banerjee. The project aims to record patient information, generate bills, keep medical records and immunization records. It also describes the hospital departments visited for research, including ward details and staffing. Limitations of the project and potential enhancements are discussed. Sources consulted in developing the project are also listed.

2. 1) Define hospital.
2) Recording information about the Patients that come.
3) Generating bills.
4) Recording information related to diagnosis given to
Patients.
5) Keeping record of the Immunization provided to
children/patients.
6) Keeping information about various diseases and
medicines available to cure them.

3. A project plan, according to the Project Management
Body of knowledge is a formal approved document
used to guide both project execution and project
control.

2. Phoenix Hospital(Dankuni).
3. Howrah state general Hospital.
4. Swasti nursing home(Mogra).

4. “FEASIBILITY STUDY” is a test of system proposal according
to its workability.This module records when the patient visit to
the hospital for the first time.
The data I get after surveying the following hospital:-
i) Apollo gleaneagles hospital:- Total bed capacity: 560
ii) Phoenix hospital(Dankuni)- Total bed capacity: 90
iii) Howrah state general hospital:- Total bed capacity:680
iv) Swasti nursing home(Mogra):-Total bed capacity:38

5. Ward Details:-
Patient with general diseases like
fever, fracture, any minor injury,
maternity & immunizations purpose,
also some minor operative cases are
done here. Also provide intensive
neonatal care unit, H.I.V, T.B, Leprosy
treatment & monitoring unit for
preventive purpose.

immunizations purpose, some major operative
cases are done here. This hospital also provides
equipped burn & trauma care unit. It also
provides intensive neonatal care unit, H.I.V, T.B,
Leprosy treatment & monitoring unit for preventive
purpose.

9. The operation theatres are a very important part of a hospital.
Some operations need a large amount of equipment and a large
number of trained staff. Each operation theatre specializes in a
particular surgical specialty.
Surgeon and assistants

1. A protective cap covering their hair
2. Masks over their lower face,
covering their mouth & nose
3. Shades or glasses over their eyes.
4. Vinyl gloves on their hands
5. Long gowns, with the bottom of the
gown no closer than six inches to the
ground.
6. Protective covers on their shoes

10. Every project work has a limitation which is inspiring for the
betterment & future enhancement of the project.
1. My project “HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” could not
provide all the department of a hospital due to the short time periods.
2. The detailed data of the hospital has not been provided by the
hospital authority which may be considered as one of the limitation
of this project.

11. The word “enhancement” is carrying a very
significant role in every field of modern times.
1.The pharmacy department of general hospitals
should try to recruit more of pharmacist and
assistant.
2.Ambulance service should be fast and efficient
to carry more of patients.

12. The project Hospital Management System (HMS) takes
care of all requirements of a certain no of hospital and is
capable to provide easy and effective storage of
information related to patients that come up to the
hospital also for a better patient care service.
It generates test reports; provide prescription details
including various tests, diet advice, and medicines
prescribed to patient by doctor. It also provides injection
details and billing facility on the basis of patient’s status
whether it is an indoor or outdoor patient.
