HOLD ON with Anger!!
By Vani Priyadarshini

We all are experienced with Anger,
Right?
• We all are experienced
with Anger, Right?
• Time and again, Anger
keeps entering our life
as unwanted
interference. We have
several shortcuts
though effective and yet
very handy to use.
My favorite tip to pacify Anger
• One such which I often suggest seekers on the
subject is:
– Don't react immediately. Tell yourself, I am
thirsty and need to drink a glass of water
urgently.
– When you get hold of a glass of water, don't
just rush to drink. Hold it, observe the clean
water
– and tell yourself, let me settle my thoughts
first to see clearly before I choose to Re-act
/ Act wisely.
Good Luck
While drinking, sustain the thought that I am peaceful, No
one is wrong altogether, There is always another angle to
see things from. After drinking water, freely decide for
yourself.
Can there be a better theory of
handling Anger?
• Of late, I started
thinking about another
theory of handling
Anger. Can there be a
better theory of
handling Anger? Can I
do something different,
something more
effective.
Just Swallow It!!
• Just Swallow It!!
• Do not show up your
anger. Do not express it.
• But, somewhere I felt
there would arise a lot of
suffocation within.
• How to handle that
because suppression of
feelings might later show
up as a terrific outburst.
My Inner voice guided me…
• And then came an Inner
voice guiding me with
yet another way.....
• Friends, let me take this
opportunity to share my
thoughts with you all..…
‘Chewing the Cud’ Technique
• Anger is not to be swallowed.
Yes, Right. It is not to
swallowed, it should be
digested.
• Just like cows after eating
fodder sit and chew the same
fodder properly and allow
digestive juices to mix into
the food which is scientifically
termed 'Chewing the Cud'.
Continued in next slide….
‘Chewing the Cud’
Technique
Similarly, when anger approaches us, we should take
time out to sit with ourselves with those angry
thoughts (Fodder) and analyze the reason for getting
angry, who did what, what I could have done
differently and What is it that I can still do to improve
the situation. This, Analysis of situation is like
'Chewing the Cud' which mixes saliva (various
possibilities) with anger and enhances good digestion
(Effective Solution / Resolution of Anger). And with
affection, I named it 'Chewing the Cud' Technique
