Commerce Clause Research Paper
Commerce Clause The commerce clause is located in Article 1, Section 8 and clause 3 of the U.S.
Constitution. According to the commerce clause, the Federal government has the right to regulate
commerce among the U.S. and foreign nations and some states. The commerce clause has led to
great controversy for many years. The commerce clausegives congress authority to legislate in
many areas or address a broad range of issues. The clause however does limit the congress to only
the regulation of interstate commerce. The interstate commerce allows business to be conducted
across the state lines. The states are left with the rights to regulate local and interstate commerce.

oral arguments on the Affordable Care Act. In 2010 Congress passed the Patients Protection and

reform the U.S. health care system. The ACA was designed to expand health insurance coverage to
millions of patients including mandatory coverage of preventative measures such as mammograms,
while increasing access to health services and treatment. The law also seeks to provide quality
measures and payment reform that aim to increase efficiencies and the quality of patients care.
Supporters of the ACA and the individual mandate assert that the authority to require citizens to

Congress to regulate interstate commerce. The ACA had numerous effects on businesses. Although
the new law contained many opportunities, it could potentially cause risk for pharmaceutical

Essay On Employee Retention
RECRUITING AND RETAINING EMPLOYEES IN A SEASONAL ENVIRONMENT
November 1, 2011 Many organizations do not have the luxury of having a constant demand in
their businesses. Some companies face a large increase in business for the holiday season, summer
vacation, or for a major event throughout the year. These predictable trends allow many businesses
to hire additional employees to help with the demand. The organizations are then forced to lay
several employees off when the demand returns to a normal level. This paper focuses on where
organizations with a large increase in seasonal demand can recruit new employees and what
programs they can create to help increase employee retention. Solutions include working with

Timing and the duration of the exchange also need to be similar to other companies that
participate in the program. Employees need to be willing to work the entire duration of the
assignment. Interviews between the employees and the participating companies need to take
place along with a tour and preview of the facilities. Contractual agreements are drafted and
signed by all parties involved. The agreements prevent companies from hiring employees on a
full time basis and are designed to prevent litigation caused by the Employee Exchange Program.
After the exchange, employee evaluations are conducted at the partnering companies. Finally,
interviews take place with employees to assess where improvements can be made in the
Employee Exchange Program. The evaluations and interviews provide an open form of

Stand and Deliver in the Film Blackboard Jungle
The controversial 1955 movie Blackboard Jungle, adapted from the novel The Blackboard
Jungle by Evan Hunter, follows the experiences of a new teacher, Mr. Richard Dadier played by
Glen Ford, at the all boys inner city North Manual High School. The school s students are
juvenile delinquents exhibiting violent and anti social behavior. The film portrays the challenges
Mr. Dadier and the other teachers face in their efforts to reach the students and capture their
interests to learn. The result of the violence he experiences at school is revealed in Mr. Dadier s
home life as well; the effect it has on his wife causes him to consider resigning his position at the
school. In a subplot, another new teacher at the school, an attractive single woman, Miss Lois
Hammond played by Margaret Hayes, is attracted to Mr. Dadier.
The movie represented an important change in films, by presenting relevant cultural issues
occurring in society. The film similarly had a significant effect in music by using Rock n Roll
music in the soundtrack, making Bill Haley and the Comets Rock Around the Clock an instant hit
song. The movie received Academy Award nominations for Best Adapted Screenplay; Best
Cinematography; Best Art Direction; and Film Editing. Turner Classic Movies (TCM)
acknowledged the soundtrack among the most influential of all time explaining it by stating:

1.2 Venture Capital: a light of hope for the SMEs
Venture capital(VC), which is known as the risk investment, shows significant role in promoting
the SMEs in raising finance. VC includes business angel financing, relationship lending and so

which are just starting up.(Dagogo, 2009) Venture capital is the fuel for high potential growth

venture capitalists tend to achieve a higher survival rate than those that are not. said by

Denver s birth? In this chapter, we learn that Sethe was already pregnant with Denver when she
ran away from Sweet Home. By the time when Sethe collapsed her feet in the woods, a white
girl Amy Denver had found Sethe. Due to Sethe s fear about Sweet Home, she told Amy Denver
a false name Lu , because if she were caught, she would be returned to Sweet Home, and she
would continue experiencing her previous painful daily life again. Amy Denver helps Sethe by

We lucky this ghost is a baby. (5) In my opinion, I think Baby Sugg means that they are lucky
that the ghost is a baby which would not be able to hurt the family in a huge and horrible way.
Likewise, if the ghost is not a baby but an adult, then the ghost might easily kill them when it got
mad. Thus, Baby Sugg thinks that there is no point of moving to another house because they
baby has none of harmful impacts on them. 3.20 27.What do Paul D and Sethe remember about
Sweet Home? Why do you think Morrison gives us the information bit by little bit? Both Paul D
and Sethe s memories about Sweet Home are extremely grieved. For an example, Sethe s life as
a slave in Sweet Home is painful. This quote demonstrates that Sethe s chokecherry tree scar on
her back was resulted by the men who whipped her and tole her baby s milk when she was still a
slave. I think Morrison gives us the information bit by little bit because she wanted to hid certain
information for the middle of the book. Also, she might also wanted to attract readers mind by
using this Strategy. Similarly, if an author gives the readers all the information at one time, then the
readers might lose the interest to continue reading the book because the reader had already what

Total Energy Lab
The objective of this lab is to investigate the conservation of total energy. There are two parts to
this experiment: To investigate the conservation of energy for a ball that is launched upwards in a
vertical direction; and To investigate the principle of energy conservation using an air track and a
glider.
For the first part, the principle of conservation of energy is investigated by launching a ball
vertically and comparing its total energy at the time of launch to its energy when it reaches its
highest point. For the second part, the principle of conservation of energy is tested out for an
isolated system by investigating how gravitational potential energy is transferred to kinetic energy
for a glider (of mass m) sliding on an air ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The percent error between the potential energy and kinetic energy varies from 0.77% to 7.56
percent. A comparison between the kinetic energy and potential energy is graphed in Figure 1.
The two forces compare well showing that the potential energy lost is equal to the kinetic energy
gained. Using the best fit, the kinetic energy versus the potential energy is presented in Figure 2.
The slope of the line is 0.9511, which represents that the potential energy lost is equal to the kinetic
energy gained. Since the ratio of kinetic energy to potential energy is one, it implies that all the
potential energy to start with is transformed to kinetic energy. The R2 is 0.9913. The difference
between the results of the potential energy and the kinetic energy shows that the experiment was a
success for all ranges. Overall, the experiment demonstrates the principle of conservation of

Toronto Road Safety Epidemic
The Toronto Road Safety Commission understands the growing safety epidemic on the streets of
Toronto. The safety of all citizens is our top priority. The problem is not being fully addressed
and the citizens of the city are at risk. Road traffic injuries put a threat on public health and
deserve attention now. On average there is more than one pedestrian death a week. In the first
15 days of 2018 there have been seven deaths related to the road. This puts the city at a 250%
increase since last year (Toronto Star). Cycle Toronto executive director Jared Kolb reports that
there is a pedestrian hit every three hours and a cyclist hit every six hours. Those who are the most
vulnerable in the city are seeing the most impact from the crisis (CBCnews).... Show more content

After these factors are understood it is important to mention that road safety is everyone s
responsibility. The target groups of Toronto must be understood to get the appropriate analysis
of audience when implementing change. The groups are as follows: vehicle operators, both
private and public transport passengers, pedestrians cyclists, older adults, motorcyclists, school
children and teachers to create safe school zones. By implementing change within these groups
we can create change and make a difference on the streets of Toronto. It should be mentioned that
Toronto is set up in four community council areas, which are North York, Toronto East York,
Etobicoke York and Scarborough. To get a better understanding of the effects in each area Figure

Eulogy for My Father Essay
My father died a week ago today. He had a profound impact on the life I live today and on the
person I became. The relationship between a son and a father can often be quite complicated. Not
so, for me. I was blessed to have a rather simple, yet powerful and loving, relationship with my
dad. And because I believe that at Fast Company we have created a community of friends, not mere
readers with little connection to our magazine, I want to share the eulogy I delivered at his funeral
on Saturday.
My father was a hard man to dislike. I know it s common at a funeral to only remember the good
things, to omit the things that would embarrass someone. In my father s case, the most remarkable
thing that can be said is that there is no bad.

Beatles tunes. Some of the happiest hours of his life were spent squeezing the squeezebox,
stomping a foot on the floor, his fingers flying across the keyboard on everything from Roll Out
the Barrel to the Tarantella. It was a rare party when my father failed to bring out the accordion to
play.

Interracial Marriages And Its Effect On Society
Interracial Marriages (relationships) have existed for years, though society traditionally has had
difficulty accepting these unions. Over the years, attitudes toward interracial relationships have
changed dramatically and will likely continue to change as our society becomes increasingly
diverse. An interracial marriageis generally defined as the union between two individuals who
come from different racial/ethnic backgrounds, such as and African American women and a white
American male. Interracial has been difficult to define. Society has had difficulties accepting
interracial relationships. Don t let opinions get in the way of love. Slaves at this time were legally
permitted to marry, though many enslaved people entered into extralegal marriages that were
recognized in their own communities. Most states prohibited interracial marriages. These
prohibitions, which were known as antimiscegenation laws (a term that originated In the 1860s),
gained strengths. These laws applied only to marriages between African American and whites.
Racial prejudices also affected the government s use of marriage as a way to confer citizenship. In
1855 Congress passed a law granting citizenship to foreign women who married American men
(Edwards). From colonial times until the 1960s, antimiscegenation laws declaring race mixing and
intermarriage illegal were common in most state laws. These laws were intended to protect
whiteness and thus were not generally enforced for marriages

Culture And Cultural Differences Between Customs And...
Culture is the way people do things it is social behavior and norms found in human societies, the
way they behave or belief David Jehan (2014), therefore culture affects various issues or factors
such as expectation; what passengers expect, passenger behavior i.e. how do they behave during
customs clearance procedures and religion influences passengerculturemuch. Language also is an
element of passengerculture that affects the way they interact with the customs officers at the
airport. Different cultures from those of customs officers or of the Kenyan laws may slightly or
greatly differ hence misunderstanding between international passengers and customs officers.
Culture includes religion, what we wear, how we wear it, our language, marriage, music, what
we believe is right or wrong, how we greet visitors, how we behave with loved ones as well as
how people behave when they are in the public places like at the customs baggage hall, culture
consists in those patterns relative to behavior and the products of human action which may be
inherited, that is, passed on from age to age without the involvement of the biological genes David
Jehan (2014)

The Options For Shed Ventilation
The 5 Options for Shed Ventilation in your Shed and the Pros and Cons of Each
Ventilating your shed is important no matter what the time of year. No matter how hard you try to
ignore this simple fact, the reality is that your shed is too hot in the summer and too cold in the
winter. Not sure if this is true, then think about all the times you refused to work in it because of
these exact reasons. Along with temperature, a non ventilated shed leads to a buildup of mildew
and chemical fumes that go a long way towards making you sick. Proper ventilation is the best way
to avoid these problems and many more.
The Problems Associated with Lack of Ventilation
As noted above, there are a number of potentially serious problems associated with not ... Show

The Stuff in Your Shed: Unless you are a bit odd, you probably use your shed not only as a
workspace but also for storage. Excess heat, cold, and moisture can have a seriously adverse effect
on everything in your shed, ruining much of it. This, of course, will result in your having to spend
a fortune replacing everything that has been damaged.
Your Options for Ventilation
There are a number of different options when it comes to the proper ventilation for your shed.
Most of which can be at least somewhat effective, while others work amazingly well. There are, as
you might expect, several issues you need to take into consideration when trying to decide which
type of ventilation is right for your shed.
It s All about Size
Perhaps one of the most important things you need to think about when trying to decide which
of the different types of shed ventilation is right for you is the size of your shed. For example, a
small solar powered vent might work for a small shed, but would be all but useless in a larger
shed. By the same token, a turbine ventilator is an excellent choice for a large shed but would
provide far too much airflow for a tiny shed.
Is This the Right Choice?
Finding the right type of shed ventilation involves looking at the size of the shed, the materials it is
made from, and what you plan to use it for. At the same time, you need to consider the average high
and low temperatures where

An Analysis Of Auden s Ulysses By Alfred Lord Tennyson
For thousands of years humanity has grappled with understanding the mystery of our existence;
questions what our purpose in life is. Some become consumed with the idea of not wasting a
second of the time they ve been given, while others tend towards a more reserved, neutral lifestyle.
Alfred Lord Tennyson s poem, Ulysses, directly attacks the idleness of a mundane lifestyle while
promoting the idea of not letting life waste away through exploration of the life of Ulysses, the
mythical greek hero. Comparatively, W.H. Auden s, The Unknown Citizen, emphasizes the
pointlessness and monotony of day to day living through satirisation of the life of an archetypal,
modern individual. Upon analysis it becomes evident that Tennyson and Auden have... Show more

The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty
How often do you daydream on a daily basis? According to researchers, people daydream about
half of the day. Most daydreams are about your future and what you want to become. Daydreams
can be a positive thing if they are about something meaningful, but they can also be a negative
thing if you are having them during class. In the short story, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty by
James Thurber, Walter is isolated from the rest of the world in his real life and is timid. In his
imaginary life, on the other hand, Walter is the complete opposite as a courageous and intelligent
person.
In his real life, Walter Mitty is incapable and insecure. For instance, when Walter is trying to park
his car, he isn t able to so the parking attendant has to help him. Walter is incapable of doing even
the simplest things in life, like parking a car. And he needs help doing these things in his life. In

have thought of putting a pen into the machine to fix it long enough for the surgery to be

The Importance Of Food Security In The Philippines
About 7 million Filipinos in 2015 have resorted to open defecation 85% of which are from rural
areas without toilet facilities. This poses a threat to the safety of food and quality of drinking
water (WHO, 2016). Although there is a valuable abundance of life and resources, the Philippines
is paradoxically afflicted with various complications and barriers to fully access and sustainably use
the natural resources available. The lives of Filipinos are thus categorized by an adversity that is
persistent throughout the world even with recent progressive developments. Despite being one of
the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia in recent years, declines in poverty were modest,
leaving marginalized groups such as women, children and the elderly vulnerable to hunger and
poverty. This rapid economic growth, however, does not necessarily translate to better conditions
when combined with other factors such as nutrition and food security (WFP, 2016). The country is
managing to the best of its abilities to concentrate on the underlying issues threatening food
security. Of those issues, the most encompassing is the lack of access to clean water and proper
sanitation, which debilitates a populations ability to survive, actively work, and produce food. In
attempt to address this issue, strict government enforcement of standards, non governmental
intervention with affordable technology or means of sanitation, and education is necessary for
improving the lives Filipinos.

The Feminism And The Role Of Female Representation On The...
We seem to being more and about the feminism and importance of female representation in the
workplace and all aspects of life. An important area that often gets discussed is female
representation in movies and media. This is particularly important because people often use movies
to form the opinions on how one should act, talk or even look. Although it may seem like we have
made great efforts to treat women equally, it s important to actually look into whether or not that s
happening. Women are still underrepresented in filmand often given roles that fit into a certain
stereotype. Although not the first actress, Florence Lawrence was one of the most recognizable
women (Klein) in American silent films in the early 1900s. Although she was in a large amount

A Case Study of a Patient Suffering with a Long Term...
A Case study of A Patient Suffering With A Long Term Health Problem The care and
management of patients suffering with a long term condition is an integral part of the nurse s
role. With approximately 15 million people in the UK suffering from at least one chronic illness
(DoH, 2012), it becomes apparent why the Department of Health (DoH) and the National Health
Service (NHS) have had to put in to place advice and guidelines in order that the appropriate
measures are taken to ensure that these patients are cared for in the most productive way. This
essay is going to discuss the issues that are associated with long term conditions and chronic
illness. The focus of this discussion is going to be a case study on a patient who is currently... Show

Research suggests that if a significant clinical improvement has not been achieved after a period
of four to eight weeks then it is unlikely that a diagnosis of Parkinson s will be made (Hou, Lai,
2008). In this case, the drug treatment did in fact have a positive effect on Mrs P s symptoms
therefore a diagnosis of Parkinson s Disease was reached. Mrs P suffers from two chronic
conditions which are hypertension and Parkinson s disease. The Parkinson s disease was
diagnosed three weeks ago after Mrs P was admitted in to hospital following three falls that
occurred over a 48 hour time period. Parkinson s disease is a common, chronic, progressive
neurological condition, estimated to affect 100 180 people per 100,000 of the population and
has an annual incidence of 4 20 per 100,000. There is a rising prevalence with age and a higher
prevalence and incidence of Parkinson s in males (NICE, 2006). Parkinson s disease primarily
affects the neurons of the brain area known as the substantia nigra or black substance which is a
small area located deep within the brain, bilaterally. When these neurons degenerate, it disrupts the
ability of the brain that is associated with movement which in turn causes the symptoms and signs
that are characteristic of Parkinson s disease, for example, tremor; rigidity; akinesia and
bradykinesia (Lang et al, 2001). Electrical and chemical events occur within the

Hair Thesis
Hair through the ages.
Since the beginning of time, hair and hairstyles has been very important to the human race. Hair
and the way it is styled is not only an adornment, but it also tells us more about the personalities,
social class or the profession of people. Hairstyles have been developing from ancient times and are
still in the process of changing today. With every new era comes a new way of creating and styling
our hair.
Antiquity:
The Egyptians
Ancient Egyptians are known for their attention to beauty and cleanliness. They used various items
and techniques to style their hair. For them the way they wore their hair was based on the social
class they were in. They used combs, hairpins, wigs and even dyed their hair and wigs. Blue, ...

Diadems were also used to beautify.
The classic period hairstyle of Sparta was the ponytail. The warrior like mentality Sparta had their
hairstyles became less attractive. Both sexes wore ponytails. Men wore to keep the hair while
battle. Men focused more on physical athleticism than on the attractiveness of their hair.
Women also wore ponytails, because of the simplicity of the hairstyle, although they were more
focused on the attractiveness of their hair and adorned their hair with ribbons, pearls and beads.
Curls were another very important part of ancient Greek hairstyles. Curls were used to enhance the
beauty of the chignon. Curls and blonde hair was seen to be very beautiful, because many Greek
gods and goddesses had blonde curly hair.
Social class were marked by hairstyles. Wealthier, aristocratic women wore long decorated hair,
while female servants wore short, cropped hair. Men wore short hairstyles with clean shaven faces,
they even occasionally preferred to be fully shaved.
Hair in ancient Rome
Roman fashions did not change much over the centuries and were generally very simple, but
hairstyle fashion was ever changing. Their styles are so distinctive that they are still used today,
some exactly the same and others are just influences.
Like today, hair for the Romans expressed personal identity as much as clothes. Their styles were
determined by various factors, namely gender, age, social status, wealth and profession. Hair was a

Mcminn On Confession
Next, McMinn (2007) acknowledges the Christian Theology perspective on confession. According
to the author (2007), there are two kinds of relations to confession and Christian Theology, which
are confession and the sacrament of penance and confession and Scripture. McMinn (2007) points
out that the Christian church has constantly been engrossed in confession, but the way of
confession has altered during the past two millennia (p 221). According to the author (2007),
numerous Spiritual leaders, such as Saint Augustine and Saint Patrick writing of their confessions
of faith and sin have severed as a partial foundation for scholasticism, which is a crusade that
attempted to examine faith academically (211 212). As scholasticism grew thought out time it birth

The author (2007) also points out the importance of the Roman Catholic views point about
confession and penance has three significate merits to confession. The first significate merit is
that consistent confession forces one to confront one s sin, meaning that one will not merely
overlook or diminish one s transgressions; instead it will cause one to take their sin more
earnestly (p 213). The second significate is that the act of penance, paying a price for sin, creates
a mindfulness of the significance of sin, meaning that it will not allow one to have a carelessness
understanding toward sin of thinking that one will always be simply forgiven; instead penance
combats this predisposition by arresting consequences for one s sin (p 213). The third Significate
merit is that it lifts the burned of guilt by forgiveness being granted during the ritual of penance,
which can be extremely redemptive for some individuals (p

Social Justice B Block Essay

Social Justice B block
December 20, 2014 Before waging a war, it is always a good idea to think of what the possible
outcome could be in the situation; to look ahead before making an unalterable, life changing
move. In many cases, different people, not just religious, think of the Just War Theory as a
plausible cause to take a look at before sending troops to fight a war that deem not necessary to be
fought. In the fall of 2001, September 11, it was a day in infamy, a day that will always be
remembered. Terrorist members attacked the United States through different tactics, and led to an
almost never ending difference between the nations. Just War is the theory that war must have a
just cause, which means force may be used only to correct a grave, public evil. It must also have
the right intention, which means that force may be used only for that purpose, only to correct a
wrong doing. It must have legitimate authority: only public authorities and officers have the
ability to wage the war. It must have comparative justice which means that the goods must
outweigh the bads, no matter how bad the other side hurt you. The probability of success must
weigh in to it. How it will be effected overall how much destruction is expected, how the goods
are weighed out by the bads, etc. And finally, is it a last resort. That being said, force can only be
used after there have been peaceful alternatives. All of that being said, the question of the United

What Is The Mystery Of Jay Gatsby
The mystery of Jay Gatsby is the only thing that keep me intrigued at times where the long
winded descriptions and adjectives became a bit too much for me. I did not get the concept of
the book at first because I thought everything from the beginning to the end would be told from
Jay Gatsby s point of view. No one seemed to know anything factual about this man, yet everyone
knew of him because of his wealth and lavish parties. I was surprised at how low key the book or
rather the author introduced him, physically. I thought he would have a grand entrance, not
something so understated and subtle. The extravagant parties he hosted prompted me to believe he
was more like the rich people in this book, snobby and arrogant. Now I have the impression

Adrian Monk, portrayed by actor Tony Shalhoub, is the main character in the USA Network
series MONK. Monk is a former homicide detective for the San Francisco Police Department,
suffering from an anxiety disorder known as obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), as well as
numerous phobias. After Monk s wife was murdered, his disorder worsened leading to his
suspension from the police force. When the series opens, Monk works as a private police homicide
consultant and undergoes therapy to overcome his anxiety disorder and phobias. He is assisted by a

These symptoms never emerged in the series; rather, the viewer is led to believe that Mr. Monk
had OCD since he was born. However, the viewer is also informed in conversations with the
police sergeant and with Monk s nurse and therapist that what triggered this disorder was the
murder of his wife. Immediately after his wife died, his disorder worsened.
Outcome of Case
Monk s treatment was to go to Dr. Charles Kroger for psychotherapy that would aid him to cope
with his disorder. In the sessions, Mr. Monk talks about what he did during the day and the goals
he accomplished. The treatment is not entirely effective, but it helps Mr. Monk relax and get all
the stress out. In the long term, Mr. Monk cannot overcome his disorder because he cannot imagine
that he can be cured. In addition, he is not a risk taker, meaning he could never do anything that
would make him uncomfortable. Because of this, there is little hope that he will be able to
completely overcome his disorder. This makes sense because his disorder is inherited, and not
attributed to environmental causes.

severe enough to be time consuming and interfere with a person s daily functioning. They must

Arthur Miller Arthur Miller, in his plays, deals with the injustice of society s moral values and
the characters who are vulnerable to its cruelty. A good majority of these plays were very
successful and earned numerous awards. According to Brooks Atkinson, a critic for the New

style and so inevitable in theme that it scarcely seems like a thing that has been written and acted.
For Mr. Miller has looked with compassion into the hearts of some ordinary Americans and quietly
transferred their hopes and anguish to the theater (Babusci 1261). This play, in 1949, received the

The public s response to the Iran Contra affair led to a sharp decrease in the support of President
Reagan. Due to President Reagan s role in the political scandal of aiding armed conflict in

Oliver North became an American obsession even though he was convicted of charges related to
the affair, with the public making dolls, shirts, and even sandwiches as a tribute to him. It seemed
as if the Iran Contra hearings were more of a last hurrah of the numerous Congressional hearings
being held in Congress rather than evidence of the hearings efficacy. Compared to other hearings,
the Iran Contra affair involved deeper partisan divides (Brown University). Party divides created
conflict through the congressional hearings, with Republicans defending and supporting the
administration and Democrats united in an attack against the administration. One of the minority
members of the House Select Committee charged with investigating the Iran Contra affair, Bill
McCollum, made this statement, Partisan bickering was the most distressing thing about the
hearings. It got in the way of our purpose, which was to bring out the facts, to determine the
President s credibility, and, finally, to recommend law and policy changes that reach far beyond
these hearings (Brown University) Consequently, some blame can be placed on party divide as to
why the public and government officials felt very little had been done to address the secrecy and
blatant incompliance of law at a federal

Van Gogh Essay
Van Gogh Essay
In this essay I am going to discuss Vincent Van Gogh and post Impressionism. Vincent Willem
van Gogh (March 1853 29 July 1890) was a Dutch post Impressionist painter whose work, notable
for its rough beauty, emotional honesty and bold color, had a far reaching influence on 20th
century art. After years of painful anxiety and frequent bouts of mental illness, he died aged 37
from a gunshot wound, generally accepted to be self inflicted (although no gun was ever found).
His work was then known to only a handful of people and appreciated by fewer still.

Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh has risen to the peak of artistic achievements. Although Van
Gogh sold only one painting in his life, the aftermath of his work is enormous. Starry Night is one
of the most well known images in modern culture as well as being one of the most replicated and
sought after prints.
One may begin to ask what features within the painting are responsible for its ever growing
popularity. There are actually several main aspects that intrigue those. Firstly here is the night
sky filled with swirling clouds, stars ablaze with their own luminescence, and a bright crescent
moon. Although the features are exaggerated, this is a scene we can all relate to, and also one
that most individuals feel comfortable and at ease with. This sky keeps the viewer s eyes
moving about the painting, following the curves and creating a visual dot to dot with the stars.
This movement keeps the onlooker involved in the painting while the other factors take
hold.Secondly below the rolling hills of the horizon lies a small town. There is a peaceful essence
flowing from the structures. Perhaps the cool dark colors and the fiery windows spark memories
of our own warm childhood years filled with imagination of what exists in the night and dark starry
skies. The center point of the town is the tall steeple of the church, reigning

Vegan Cinderella Analysis
Vegan Cinderella
Description
In the Netflix original, Easy. Entitled Vegan Cinderella by Joe Swanberg, we see an honest and
visceral depiction of modern young love. There are moments in our relationships when we lie to
our significant others, maybe even change a little bit of ourselves for them. In this episode, we
see a cast of mostly young twenty something year old lesbian females and follow the two main
characters through the first few days of a budding romance. We hear many awkward
conversations between the two women about veganism and there is a great sense of realism
within the story and the characters. You feel like these women could be any one of your friends,
almost as if you are also there with the characters. I think everyone at some point in their life has
tried to change themselves because they thought it is necessary in order for the other person to
like them. In this episode, we see Chase try to impress Jo by changing who she is in order to
impress her which is something we all can relate to. Joe Swanberg is known for his indie films and
shooting on 16mm and 35mm film. He also does not write scripts but writes a one page outline
where he has the characters use improvisation to fill in the blanks. He focuses on naturalism and
has little use for doing more than one or two takes. His on set brevity allows for his films to be shot
over the course of just a few weeks which helps to keep production costs down (Zakarin). The style

Car Tuning
The modification of company manufactured vehicles, otherwise known as Car Tuning , has
become increasingly widespread over the past few years. It has developed from industry
application into being a popular hobby in which cars are modified by their owners in order to
optimize performance, handling and perhaps add a personal touch. This type of activity might be
mistaken by many to be reserved for racing junkies , but if we take a closer look, it actually
proves to be quite beneficial in terms of fuel consumption and safety. Superchargers or
turbochargers are known to increase engine efficiency and power, whereas advanced suspension
and braking tend to drastically upgrade handling and thus safety. A carefully designed exhaust
system can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A spark plug ignites the mixture and the combustion takes place. In this phase, timing is crucial
since the spark must occur when the air/fuel mixture is compressed to the optimal point. Else,
the combustion will not work as effectively as it should. Once the combustion takes place, the
piston is pushed back down Now, the exhaust valves evacuate the product of the combustion and
the engine is ready for another cycle. Here, we notice the importance of the valves that must
open at the correct time to fill the combustion chamber and then to clear this chamber from the
product of the combustion. The timing of the valves is controlled by the Cam Shaft. This part
of the engine decides on the correct timing: thus filling the combustion chamber when needed
and evacuating it when it is full. Factory, or stock , cars are made for average driving conditions
and driver expectations. Sacrifices in performance, efficiency, and even handling are made for
more comfort (Wikipedia). Car tuning is not yet very popular among people especially here in
Lebanon. While people may think that car tuning is only for race junkies , the fact is that it
actually improves the efficiency, performance, handling, and power of the car. The personal
motive behind car tuning is usually personalizing the car to suit its owner s needs, driving style,
and personality. Engine efficiency is a major issue in the car industry. Instead of completely

William Carlos Williams The Use Of Force
The Use of Force Physicians, in their daily practices will tell you, not all patients when being
examined will comply with the doctor s wishes. Likewise, Law Enforcement. Police, can tell you
also not all calls went as smooth as it should most of the times. Nearly all doctors will agree that
children, and the mentally incompetent, are the most difficult patients to deal with. Because of
incompetence, these patients are not able to make decisions for themselves. Doctors are
presumably likeable people, because, when you are sick, they make you healthier, although for
others, doctors can be villains. Patients whose doctors force treatment on them perceive this as a
violation of their rights. The use of force should be mandatory when patient health becomes life
threatening to themselves and the public at large. William Carlos Williamsin his story, The Use of
Force, described the unfolding of a dramatic encounter between a doctor and a little girl named
Matilde, whose parents called the doctor for help because of concern for her health. Matilde was
suspected of having diphtheriaby her parents. The story unfolds like a masterpiece being played

When I worked as a Student Technology Consultant, there was a student who came to the front
desk in straight panic mode. She was working on an important assignment in the computer lab,
and it seemingly went missing before her eyes. I was immediately empathetic, because of course
I ve been there, and told her I would do all I could to help her recover the document. First, I used
prior knowledge. Admittedly, it was limited, and none of my methods did the trick. Then, I went
online and searched for solutions. (She was freaking out, and my intuition told me that she
actually did lose her assignment, so I told her if I couldn t recover her document I would write a
note explaining the situation to her professor. Of course, some professors wouldn t care, but I
figured it may help some if she needed an extension, etc.) I tried about three or four methods,
before I finally found a solution that worked (searching temp folders on the drive). I was
honestly almost as happy as her to find a solution. She was grateful, and said she appreciated my

Captain Of Industry Dbq
Robber Baron: someone who manipulates others at a disadvantage to succeed or prosper by himself.
Captain of Industry: someone who uses intelligence and clever business tactics to achieve economic
prosperity.
Document A:
In the first quote, Carnegie means that the men share their wealth with the community; they help
the less fortunate prosper as well. Carnegie implies that the men make money for not only
themselves but others.
By survival of the fittest, Carnegie means that the most capable people will succeed and prosper,
while the others fail. He is promoting the idea of Social Darwinism, the belief that wealth is a
measure of one s inherent value and those who had it were the most fit.
As opposed to his poor brethren, the man of wealth has an extremely unfair advantage in which he

They are sitting on bags of millions , which are resting on a heavy raft carried by workers.
The men at the bottom of the image represent the workers of the middle and lower class, struggling
to survive. As they support the raft, the workers fight to hold the nation and businessmen up. In
their struggle, pain is evident.
The cartoonist is trying to make the point that these protectors of our industries are oppressing and
taking advantage of the workers. He portrays them as fat, greedy, and lazy men who are bloated
from their enormous income of money. The workers are portrayed as hard working and struggling
to survive; they are exhausted and overworked.

Historian A views the entrepreneurs as robber baronsand as men who greedily took advantage of the
American workers. He describes them as ruthless and single minded; he accuses them of threatening
the humane and democratic values that made America great. He is essentially saying that the

Abraham Lincoln s Assassination Of The United States
On April 14, 1865 President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth while at
Ford s Theater. This is a widely known fact but many of the events leading up to his death are
obscure. Why was he assassinated? What was really supposed to happen that dreadful night? What
made the south so mad? How did this affect the future of the United States? All of these questions
have answers, the only thing you have to do is look.
Let s start by getting to know our late president. Abraham Lincoln, our sixteenth President of the
United States, was elected on November 6, 1860. He only received 40% of the popular vote, none
of which was from the South. Lincoln became president during the highest conflict between North
and South in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was also a Confederate sympathizer, vehement in his denunciation of Lincoln, and was strongly
opposed to the abolition of slavery in the United States. Booth and a group of co conspirators
originally plotted to kidnap Lincoln but later planned to kill him, Vice President Andrew Johnson,
and Secretary of State William H. Seward in a bid to help the Confederacy s cause. Although
Robert E. Lee s Army of Northern Virginia had surrendered four days earlier, Booth believed the
American Civil Warwas not yet finished because Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston s army
was still fighting the Union Army. Of the conspirators, only Booth was completely successful in
carrying out his part of the plot. Booth shot Lincoln once in the back of the head, and the
President died the next morning. Seward was severely wounded but recovered. Vice President
Johnson was never attacked at all. Following the assassination, Booth fled on horseback to
southern Maryland, eventually making his way to a farm in rural northern Virginia 12 days later,
where he was located. Booth s companion gave himself up, but Booth refused and was shot by
Boston Corbett, a Union soldier, after the barn in which he was hiding was set ablaze. Eight other
conspirators or suspects were tried and convicted, and four were

Composite Index Fund And The FidelityпїЅпїЅ Floating Rate High...
Historically, people invest their money in mutual funds as a means to generate extra income. This
can be separated into either stocks or bonds, with each having their specialty in a portfolio. The
following report provides an analysis of two funds, the FidelityВ® NasdaqВ® Composite Index
Fund (FNCMX) and the FidelityВ® Floating Rate High Income Fund (FFRHX). The analysis of
the yearly returns of each fund from 2005 2014 will include the risk and return for investing in each
with key statistics such as mean, median, standard deviation, and range for indicators of their
performance. These statistics will be paired with visuals so the client can have a visual
representation of what they look like. The analysis will also compare the performance... Show more

For the median of FLPSX, half of the ten years had yearly return earnings higher than 10.2650 and
half lower than 10.2650, while FFRHX had a smaller median of 4.0750. Both funds also do not
have modes, another measurement of central location. The measurements in the table mean that
FNCMX would have a higher investment return per year than the FFRHX as it more than doubles
the return for both the mean and the median (10.97 mean return 4.7150 mean return and 10.265
median 4.0750). Both mutual funds had positively skewed distributions because the means were
greater than the medians.
Investment Risk For a client to fully comprehend an investment option, it is crucial to know the
investment risk associated with it. This is done through measures of dispersion by calculating the
range and standard deviation of each mutual fund, as they provide information about the variability
in the data. The range of yearly returns for FNCMX is 85 as compared to a range of only 45.33
for FFRHX. The high range for FNCMX can be attributed to the fluctuation of the stock market
where the highs and lows throughout the year have lasting impacts on the yearly returns. Typically,
standard deviation is a more credible measure of dispersion, as range only analyzes the minimum
and maximum values. The standard deviation for the FidelityВ® Floating Rate High Income Fund
yearly returns is

My Favorite Superheros
Ever since I was a little girl I have looked up to and loved superheroes. Most of the superheroes are
from Detective Comics or DC Comics for short (yes, that is Detective Comics Comics.)
Nightwing has been my favorite superhero for as long as I can remember. Obviously, Wonder
Woman as well, she is a big reason why I am a feminist. The Flashhas been one of my favorite
superheroes since I was super young. However, I do not care so much for the second Flash, Barry
Allen or even the original Flash, Jay Garrick. I have always preferred the third Flash, Wally West.
My favorite Green Lanternis John Stewart. To me, all of the superheroes in DC Comics are my
favorite superheroes, but those ones stand out the most to me. Not Marvel, they suck. Nightwing.

Soon after the adoption of the nine year old boy, he became Batman s first sidekick to use the name
Robin. The first time I ever seen Dick Grayson was when I was around three years old in the
anime styled cartoon titled, Teen Titans. I absolutely adored that show and I still do. However,
looking back on it and rewatching episodes, they really made him be a lot like Batman, which is
fine if you do not know the comic book character because I did not at the time. His character in
the comics is definitely different than how they portrayed him in the show. He is more outgoing
than Batman and is very sarcastic. He will talk to his enemies and distract them that way. He is
not a depressed boy in a costume trying to scare people, that is Batman. To me, Batman just does
not have any personality compared to Robin. I just wish they would have portrayed him better than
they did. Anyhow, after years of being Robin, Dick Grayson wanted to be an independent
superhero. At age eighteen, he made that happen by getting an all new suit that was all black with
a blue bird on it (unless we are talking about the original Nightwing suit because that was light

PGC Vs Summum Case Study
When SVC sued the Chairman John Walker II and the members of Texas Department of Motor
Vehicles Board he claimed that the licenses plates were private speech and not government
speech and was violating his First Amendment right. The District Court ruled in favor for the
Board, however when SVC appealed, the Fifth Circuit the ruling was reversed and held SVC s
claim that license plates are private speech an said that the Board engaged in constitutionally
forbidden viewpoint discrimination when it refused to approve SCV s design (Walker v SVC).
Then The U.S Supreme Court held 5 to 4 Texas s specialty license plate designs constitute
government speech, and thus Texas was entitled to refuse to issue plates featuring SCV s proposed

They argued that, The Court s decision passes off private speech as government speech and, in
doing so, establishes a precedent that threatens private speech that government finds displeasing
(Alito, Walker v SCV). The dissenting opinion used an example of a test; if you were to watch
cars drive past you on a highway and look at all of the license plates, you would see license
plates that had the name of a high school, university, sorority, company etc., and you would not
think that these sentiments reflected the State of Texas but people who own the cars (Alito,
Walker v SVC). Justice Alito and the other Justices described the license plates as little
billboards where the government has government speech on it but there is also room for the
owner of the car to show their own messages on the specialty plate. They further contended that
the Board of Motor Vehicles of Texas was partaking in viewpoint discrimination because the State
of Texas was not allowing the messages of a private group to be on the little billboard because
some people may find the speech offensive. The minority also explained that the Pleasant Grove
City v Summum case is not a valid argument because of three factors; The history of public
monuments and the Texas license plate program cannot be more different, The Texas specialty plate
program also does not exhibit the selective receptivity

Identifying The Unknown Bacteria From A Mixed Culture
Identification of Enterobacter Aerogenes

Jason Atkins
Unknown #19
The purpose of this study is to identify an unknown bacterium from a mixed culture. We identified
the unknown bacteria through different biochemical tests and identified the many metabolic
capabilities of the bacteria. Studying and discovering unknown bacteria is very important in the
health field as it may lead to new medicines and innovations for current, existing diseases as well as
any upcoming diseases. The discovery of unknown bacteria is very useful in the pharmaceutical
industry, as most of the products prepared are made based on these unknown organisms.
The biochemical tests used to identify the unknown bacteria included: phenol red broth test
(glucose, lactose, and sucrose), methyl red and Voges Proskauer test, citrate test, indole test, H2S
production test, urea test and motility test. The PR broths are used to differentiate members of
Enterobacteriaceae and to distinguish these members from other gram negative rods. The PR
broths are useful in determining a bacterium s fermentation abilities. If the bacterium is able to
utilize the carbohydrate, then the acid production from fermentation lowers pH, which in turn turns
the broth yellow. However, if the bacterium is unable to utilize the carbohydrate, but does utilize the
peptone, which produces the by product ammonia, the medium will have a rise in pH turning the
broth pink.

Coca Cola is a much better balance sheet than Pepsico, even managing to have more cash on hand
than debt during much of this time frame (SeekingAlpha.com, 2012).
After comparing the two it is companies, I would recommend that Coca Cola is the better pick as
far as who to invest in if given the opportunity to invest in one or the other. Through analyzing the
many ratios and utilizing the components to accurately rationalize the status of the financial
stability of the two companies Coca Cola has proved to have a higher financial accountability.
There are many factors that brought me to this conclusion. Just look at the statements you can see
that Pepsi Co. has more liabilities than Coca Cola and that would generally be the case since Pepsi
Co. has monies invested in other products and Cola does not have any other involvements in other
products.

Learning Theories
As centuries changes, so too does the learning styles of students changes. Hence different learning
theories such as behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism have been used to improve learning,
performance and class involvement of student. Each of theories has distinctive features based on
their individual perspectives of the learning process. In this essay, I will mainly discuss 3 things: 1)
the main tenet of behaviorismand constructivism, 2) a comparison between cognitive and
constructivism and 3) the implications that constructivism has for the classroom teacher with the
central task of teaching.
Behaviorism
Behaviorism is an approach which denies (with greater / lesser insistency) that consciousness has
any relevance to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thirdly, reinforcement and punishment is strongly embedded in this approach. Due to the fact that
behavior is the result of external stimuli, theories suggest that a behavior can be modified through
the use of reinforcements and punishments. Reinforcements are stimuli that encourage a person to
do the behavior again, while punishments discourage the behavior. For example, preventing your
child from using the computer when he breaks curfew would be considered a punishment because
you want the behavior of breaking curfew to stop. Behavior modification through reinforcement and
punishment is called operant conditioning.
Constructivism
According to KristinsdГіttir (2001) the view of constructivist, learning is a constructive process in
which the learner is building an internal illustration of knowledge, a personal interpretation of
experience. This representation is continually open to modification, its structure and linkages
forming the ground to which other knowledge structures are attached. Firstly, learning is an active
process in which meaning is accomplished on the basis of experience. Although both cognitivists
and constructivists view the learner as being actively involved in the learning process ( student
centric), the constructivists look at the learner as more than just an active processor of information.
Learners create their own meaning of knowledge. Therefore, the goal of

Essay about Cooperative Learning
Cooperative Learning During the weekend I spent learning about the theories and structures of
cooperative learning, I was captivated by five components of cooperative learning. I intend to use
these five in my own classroom. They begin with the introduction games Pleased to Meet You and
Knotting Acquaintance followed by the creation of basegroups and finally STAD and TGT. These
are five basic, yet exciting ways to use cooperative groups in the classroom.
I will use the first two introduction games at the start of the school year, because students are
nervous about the start of school and these games are great for breaking the ice. I would start with

I like the base group because it gives the students a home. The base groups help open the door to
getting the cooperative learning going. The length of time that the base groups will stay together
depends on the climate in the classroom. If I have selected well and the groups have been
successful I might be inclined to let them work together up to the midpoint of the school year.
The base groups will merely serve as a home. Depending on the activity the class is doing I will use
ad hoc groups and Formal learning groups.
In the Formal learning groups, as well as in the ad hoc and the base groups, I will employ two
types of group activities the STAD system and the TGT system.
The Student Team Achievement System (STAD) is a five part system with proven effectiveness
in Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science. The groups are set up
heterogeneously and presented with new material. The next step is to have the learners practice
the material within their group. It is the responsibility of the group to be sure all group members
have received the information and have a clear understanding of it. Once the groups have had
sufficient time to practice, the teacher gives the students individual quizzes. The quizzes are
scored and the learners earn points for their group. The points earned by the group members are
based on their level of improvement over their base score; their average score on the previous
quizzes. The base score could also be established by

A Complicated Kindness Literary Analysis
Loss in Real Life vs. in A Complicated Kindness
In many fictitious stories and even in real life, people experience loss of family members,
someone they know, and are brought down from their previous state of happiness. Everyone will

Human Resource Information Systems
Use the Internet to research and evaluate two (2) commercial HR database systems for your
organization. Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of each system and, based on your
knowledge of human resources and database systems, propose one (1) package that would fit the
needs of your organization.
The two Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) that need to be considered in this
analysis are the SAP Business All In One, a completely configured suite of applications that can
be delivered either via on premise licensing or via the Software as a Service(SaaS) model. SAP
recently acquired SuccessFactors, the leading enterprise performance company that dominates the
HRIS market from a SaaS standpoint. The second HRIS system that needs to be included in the

The advantages of the SAP Business All In One system is the ability to integrate the core HRIS
functions of Payroll, Benefits Administration, Personnel Administration and employee self service
back to the accounting and financial data of the company. Best in class HRIS systems have an

The Examination of the Residential School System in...
Education is an essential aspect in our ever changing societies. It is used as a means of transmitting
concepts, knowledge, and values, often to younger generations (Ravelli Webber, 2010). Education
and schooling differ in all societies, varying based on the methods of teaching of different cultural
groups. For instance, Canadian Aboriginal people were taught based on the needs of their
individual families and class. This greatly differed from the European system of education, which
stressed adequate involvement with all of society. Though the Aboriginal manner of education was
efficient and effective, the Europeans wanted to bring a change to their previous practices. As seen

As many Aboriginals stood in the way of European economic expansion, Europeans forced the
younger generation of Aboriginals to residential schools. This justified and assisted in their need to
revolutionize former Aboriginal beliefs. More specifically, the correspondence principle identifies
the changes Aboriginal children had to make in school in order to reflect that of the normal
workplace. For instance, certain ideologies were enforced by residential schools. Aboriginal
children were punished if they spoke in their native tongue, as this rule was reflected and followed
in the workplace. With these regulations in place, the Aboriginal culturewas on the verge of
destruction, as it was nearly impossible for any future Aboriginal generations to receive proper
knowledge on their native culture. More generally, conflict theory is based on social inequality,
and it explains how the powerful promote their own interests at the expense of the weak (Ravelli
Webber, 2010). Residential schools signify this notion, as the Aboriginals were mistreated and
abused by the more powerful, prominent religious figures in the school. Overall, the conflict theory
best describes the residential school system, and it correctly identifies how the Aboriginal culture
was destroyed as a result. The residential school system can also be examined using

According to the commerce clause, the Federal government has the right to regulate commerce among the U.S. and foreign nations and some states. These predictable trends allow many businesses to hire additional employees to help with the demand. The agreements prevent companies from hiring employees on a full time basis and are designed to prevent litigation caused by the Employee Exchange Program. Due to Sethe s fear about Sweet Home, she told Amy Denver a false name Lu , because if she were caught, she would be returned to Sweet Home, and she would continue experiencing her previous painful daily life again. This quote demonstrates that Sethe s chokecherry tree scar on her back was resulted by the men who whipped her and tole her baby s milk when she was still a slave. I think Morrison gives us the information bit by little bit because she wanted to hid certain information for the middle of the book. Also, she might also wanted to attract readers mind by using this Strategy. Similarly, if an author gives the readers all the information at one time, then the readers might lose the interest to continue reading the book because the reader had already what will happen later ... Over the years, attitudes toward interracial relationships have changed dramatically and will likely continue to change as our society becomes increasingly diverse. However, this incident had the opposite effect. The public s response to the Iran Contra affair led to a sharp decrease in the support of President Reagan. Due to President Reagan s role in the political scandal of aiding armed conflict in Nicaragua, the United StatesCongress used its constitutional power to investigate and check the role of the executive branch. The impact of this congressional oversight highlights the checks and balances the Founder s instilled in our political government during our nation s conception. Oliver North became an American obsession even though he was convicted of charges related to the affair, with the public making dolls, shirts, and even sandwiches as a tribute to him. It seemed as if the Iran Contra hearings were more of a last hurrah of the numerous Congressional hearings being held in Congress rather than evidence of the hearings efficacy. Compared to other hearings, the Iran Contra affair involved deeper partisan divides (Brown University). Party divides created conflict through the congressional hearings, with Republicans defending and supporting the administration and Democrats united in an attack against the administration. One of the minority members of the House Select Committee charged with investigating the Iran Contra affair, Bill McCollum, made this statement, Partisan bickering was the most distressing thing about the hearings. It got in the way of our purpose, which was to bring out the facts, to determine the President s credibility, and, finally, to recommend law and policy changes that reach far beyond these hearings (Brown University) Consequently, some blame can be placed on party divide as to why the public and government officials felt very little had been done to address the secrecy and blatant incompliance of law at a federal ... • 35. Van Gogh Essay Van Gogh Essay In this essay I am going to discuss Vincent Van Gogh and post Impressionism. Vincent Willem van Gogh (March 1853 29 July 1890) was a Dutch post Impressionist painter whose work, notable for its rough beauty, emotional honesty and bold color, had a far reaching influence on 20th century art. After years of painful anxiety and frequent bouts of mental illness, he died aged 37 from a gunshot wound, generally accepted to be self inflicted (although no gun was ever found). His work was then known to only a handful of people and appreciated by fewer still. France in the late 19th century was in the rule of the ambitious Napoleon III. Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh has risen to the peak of artistic achievements. Although Van Gogh sold only one painting in his life, the aftermath of his work is enormous. Starry Night is one of the most well known images in modern culture as well as being one of the most replicated and sought after prints. One may begin to ask what features within the painting are responsible for its ever growing popularity. There are actually several main aspects that intrigue those. Firstly here is the night sky filled with swirling clouds, stars ablaze with their own luminescence, and a bright crescent moon. Although the features are exaggerated, this is a scene we can all relate to, and also one that most individuals feel comfortable and at ease with. This sky keeps the viewer s eyes moving about the painting, following the curves and creating a visual dot to dot with the stars. This movement keeps the onlooker involved in the painting while the other factors take hold.Secondly below the rolling hills of the horizon lies a small town. There is a peaceful essence flowing from the structures. Perhaps the cool dark colors and the fiery windows spark memories of our own warm childhood years filled with imagination of what exists in the night and dark starry skies. The center point of the town is the tall steeple of the church, reigning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Vegan Cinderella Analysis Vegan Cinderella Description In the Netflix original, Easy. Entitled Vegan Cinderella by Joe Swanberg, we see an honest and visceral depiction of modern young love. There are moments in our relationships when we lie to our significant others, maybe even change a little bit of ourselves for them. In this episode, we see a cast of mostly young twenty something year old lesbian females and follow the two main characters through the first few days of a budding romance. We hear many awkward conversations between the two women about veganism and there is a great sense of realism within the story and the characters. You feel like these women could be any one of your friends, almost as if you are also there with the characters. I think everyone at some point in their life has tried to change themselves because they thought it is necessary in order for the other person to like them. In this episode, we see Chase try to impress Jo by changing who she is in order to impress her which is something we all can relate to. Joe Swanberg is known for his indie films and shooting on 16mm and 35mm film. He also does not write scripts but writes a one page outline where he has the characters use improvisation to fill in the blanks. He focuses on naturalism and has little use for doing more than one or two takes. His on set brevity allows for his films to be shot over the course of just a few weeks which helps to keep production costs down (Zakarin). The style or genre of this film is ... This type of activity might be mistaken by many to be reserved for racing junkies , but if we take a closer look, it actually proves to be quite beneficial in terms of fuel consumption and safety. In this phase, timing is crucial since the spark must occur when the air/fuel mixture is compressed to the optimal point. Else, the combustion will not work as effectively as it should. Once the combustion takes place, the piston is pushed back down Now, the exhaust valves evacuate the product of the combustion and the engine is ready for another cycle. Here, we notice the importance of the valves that must open at the correct time to fill the combustion chamber and then to clear this chamber from the product of the combustion. The timing of the valves is controlled by the Cam Shaft. This part of the engine decides on the correct timing: thus filling the combustion chamber when needed and evacuating it when it is full. Identifying The Unknown Bacteria From A Mixed Culture Identification of Enterobacter Aerogenes Annie Banh November 15, 2014 Jason Atkins Unknown #19 The purpose of this study is to identify an unknown bacterium from a mixed culture. We identified the unknown bacteria through different biochemical tests and identified the many metabolic capabilities of the bacteria. Studying and discovering unknown bacteria is very important in the health field as it may lead to new medicines and innovations for current, existing diseases as well as any upcoming diseases. The discovery of unknown bacteria is very useful in the pharmaceutical industry, as most of the products prepared are made based on these unknown organisms. The biochemical tests used to identify the unknown bacteria included: phenol red broth test (glucose, lactose, and sucrose), methyl red and Voges Proskauer test, citrate test, indole test, H2S production test, urea test and motility test. The PR broths are used to differentiate members of Enterobacteriaceae and to distinguish these members from other gram negative rods. The PR broths are useful in determining a bacterium s fermentation abilities. If the bacterium is able to utilize the carbohydrate, then the acid production from fermentation lowers pH, which in turn turns the broth yellow. However, if the bacterium is unable to utilize the carbohydrate, but does utilize the peptone, which produces the by product ammonia, the medium will have a rise in pH turning the broth pink. As many Aboriginals stood in the way of European economic expansion, Europeans forced the younger generation of Aboriginals to residential schools. This justified and assisted in their need to revolutionize former Aboriginal beliefs. More specifically, the correspondence principle identifies the changes Aboriginal children had to make in school in order to reflect that of the normal workplace. For instance, certain ideologies were enforced by residential schools.
