This document provides a personal perspective on the history of human-computer interaction from John C. Thomas. It describes his experiences with different computers from the 1960s to present day and interactions he had at various jobs. It also reflects on predictions made at CHI 1986 about the future of HCI and which topics are still discussed today versus those that are no longer as prominent.
