- 2. 1558 OBSCURA Camera obscura from Latin, meaning "dark room": camera "(vaulted) chamber or room," and obscura "darkened, dark"), also referred to as pinhole image. The term "camera obscura" also refers to constructions or devices that make use of the principle within a box, tent or room the second half of the 16th century and became popular as an aid for drawing and painting.
- 3. 1835 CALOTYPE Calotype or talbotype is an early photographic process introduced in 1841 by William Henry Fox Talbot, using paper coated with silver iodide. The term calotype comes from the Greek (kalos), "beautiful", and (tupos), "impression“ Talbot made his first successful camera photographs in 1835 using paper sensitised with silver chloride, which darkened in proportion to its exposure to light.
- 4. 1836 DAGUERREOTYPE CAMERA The Daguerreotype process, or daguerreotypy, was the first publicly available photographic process, and for nearly twenty years it was the one most commonly used.To make the image, a daguerreotypist would polish a sheet of silver-plated copper to a mirror finish.
- 5. 1841 DAGUERRE’S LENS Wolcott improved on Daguerre's lens camera by making a camera that used a mirror instead.On October 7, 1839, Wolcott made the first portrait in the world with a prototype of his daguerreotype camera when he took a picture of his partner Johnson.
- 6. 1861 PANORAMIC CAMERA Thomas Sutton's Panoramic Camera is a wooden-bodied camera for wet-plate panoramic photography on curved glass plates. The lens is constructed as two glass hemispheres, enclosing a water-filled spherical space.

- 14. 1949 PHOTO-PAC A company called a photo pack produced a cardboard camera begining in 1949 which shot 8n exposers and was mailed in for processing.
- 15. 1980 SONY MAVICA It was first analog camera in essence it was a video movie camera that recorded single frames.The image quality was considered equal to that of then current television.
- 16. 1988 FUJI SDS-1P CAMERA It was first true digital camera that recorded images as a computerized file recorded images to a 16mb internal memory card powered by a battery to retain data.
- 17. 1991 KODAK DC 100 First commercially available DSLR camera was mounted on a Nikon F-3 body. Realeased by KODAK in may 1991.
- 18. 1994 WEBCAM First developed in 1991, a webcam was pointed at the Trojan Room coffee pot in the Cambridge University Computer Science Department (initially operating over a local network instead of the web). The camera was finally switched off on August 22, 2001. The final image captured by the camera can still be viewed at its homepage.[11][12] In 2004, the oldest webcam still operating was FogCam at San Francisco State University, which had been running continuously since 1994.

It is part of the Canon EOS line of cameras and uses the EF lens mount. The EOS D30 was Canon's first "home grown" digital SLR.

The J-SH04 could take photos, like the one on the right (from Japanese site Showcase) at 110,000-pixel resolution or 0.11- megapixels.
