The Dc Urban Moms And Dads Message Board Into The Mommy...
On DCUMDs, well followed set from Ward III for parents overshadows site s forums which are
swarming with a lot of questions and issues like when do people reveal their revenue, if people
can pilfer strollers or can children be hungry all the time when they are suffering from obesity.
Population which is perceptible to the question of class and its division came into collision with
those who were not capable to understand the guilt of money in questions of everyday life of D. C.
Some user made a post that it was insufferable, while the other said to put an end to the
embarrassment and pay for mothers services already and that she would be grateful for it more, as
the indigent people also had their merits. It was these type of conflicts made the WashingtonCity
Paper to rename the DC Urban Moms and Dads message board into The Mommy Fight Site.
Besides, money is one of the hottest topics in the Internet and DCUMD is not an exception, and
it turned out like a real bomb in forums discussions. Psychologists say that our society is
oriented towards money, this theme is always actual and in a top of any kind of discussion.
People observe different examples of people who are gaining a large sum of money or just have
it, thus other people take them as a role model and as a result, they aspire to people s gains. So in
this term people are just trying to draw and maintain their prestigious image, while successful
people are prototypes for this making image society and District

Current Rate Of Third Semester Pathway Students
As a Data Analyst, I am responsible for assisting in projections and forecasting of enrollment as well
as institutional research projects. This includes use of Excel and R to run statistical analyses in
answering enrollment and research questions. Key to projecting enrollment is a file we use called
the Decision Model We track various aspects of enrollment to help predict future enrollment. For
example, we track the amount of third semester pathway students since they will likely be
matriculating into the Online Degree Program. We also track the percentage of third semester
students who have historically matriculated. This way we can apply the same percentage to the
current rate of third semester Pathway students to estimate new online students. This same
principle is applied all throughout the decision model, enrollment is broken out into categories of
different students and indicators that can help predict that category.
Regression analysis is used often to answer research questions. Using R, linear regression helps to
shed light on the effects of any number of factors into college success. In addition, I have been
able to use skills from excel courses on a regular basis to create charts and graphs as well as
prepare and analyze spreadsheets. Finally, the principles of thinking like an economist often
contribute to projects that I worked on. Mostly when I ve needed to understand why students are
behaving in a certain way or thinking about how to present data in the most

Abstract:
The missing Malaysia Airline flight MH370 on March 8, 2014 is not only a technical mystery but
determines current weaknesses in technical, regulatory and organizational infrastructure of
international civil aviation. Safety culture of international civil aviation is the fundamental pillar of
success but unfortunately aerial disasters occur. This article discusses about missing Malaysia
Airline flight MH370 and the difficulties to manage search, rescue, accidental investigation,
recovery efforts and lessons learnt. Introduction:

In less than an hour after take off at 1:20 MYT, Malaysia Airline lost contact with air traffic
controls. Malaysia Airlines reported for the missing flight at 7:24 MYT carrying 239 passengers
including 12 Malaysian crew.
The disappearance and supposedly crashed flight MH370 disturbed consumer confidence in the
airline with share prices falling. In a span of four months, another Malaysia Airline was shot down
over Ukraine. Even with the planned route airline earned criticism for travelling over conflict zone.
Malaysia Airlines was struggling for cost cutting to compete with a wave of new, low cost
without a distress signal. They lost almost US $137.4 million in the first quarter of 2014.
Malaysian Airlines made no profit since 2010. In last three years, Malaysia Airlines booked
losses of US $1.25 billion. The company s stock fell by 20% following the disappearance of
Flight MH370 and had fallen 80% over the previous five years. Following the disappearance,
ticket sale had declined. Especially in China it was down by 60% in the month of March. Also,
there was a spike in resignation from the flight crew though it was below industry norms.
Emergency Responses:
Final Contact: The final contact occurred at 1:19 MYT with air traffic control (ATC), when one of
the pilots replied Good night Malaysian Three Seven Zero . The crew was expected to contact ATC
when it passed into another area where the contact was lost.

Differences Between Animal Farm And The Truman Show
Living a good life and trying to pursue the unattainable utopian society takes power, but not
everyone has the power to make these things reality. The good life and the utopian society will stay
elusive unless one has the ambition to want to thrive and fight for power and control over their own
life. The Truman Show, directed by Peter Weir, conveys the idea that everyone has a different
perspective as to what the good life and utopiais so, in order to obtain it, Truman must fight for the
power and freedom to control his own life. Likewise, in Animal Farm, George Orwell explores
how the animals believe that to be able to obtain the unreachable utopian society and good life
they must first have power and control over their own lives. To do so they must get rid of Mr
Jones, but they soon grow to realise that even once you have power and control, too much power
can easily be abused.
A good life is a term for the life that one would like to live. It s a life in which one has the
freedom to self direct their own life. Truman has the perfect wife, the perfect house, perfect job
and perfect friends but does that really matter if he doesn t have freedom? In The Truman Show,
Weir expresses that without freedom the good life is unattainable, one can never truly be happy
and content with their life unless they have freedom. We see this most clearly when Truman is so
determined to Thrive in life and escape from the dome that the good life Christof has endowed for
him doesn t matter.

Alternative Dispute Resolution And The Different Types Of It
In this essay I will address what alternative dispute resolution is and the different types of it. ADR
stands for Alternative dispute resolution is something that provides an alternative way of settling
civil disputes than the traditional way using the courts. The main forms of Alternative dispute
resolution are being arbitration, adjudication mediationand conciliation, however in the United
Kingdom the most commonly used alternative dispute resolutions are arbitration and mediation but
adjudication is becoming rapidly more popular. Adjudication is another form of alternative dispute
resolutionthat stems from Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act (Construction Act).
This Act was introduced in 1996 in the United Kingdom. Even though the Act was created to ensure
that the process remains informal, this has recently changed where parties that are in dispute are
now serving official documents such as witness statements, expert reports etc. Though recently The
Alternative Dispute Resolutionfor Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information)
Regulations 2015 was passed and deals with how consumer disputes are handled.
Arbitration is a form of alternative dispute resolution that aims to solve disputes outside the courts
by a third party called arbitrators. The arbitrators review the case facts and evidence and gives out
a verdict that is legally binding and therefore enforceable. Both parties agree beforehand to abide by
the decision that the arbitrators

Nurse Poaching Poor Countries
I believe that nurse poaching from poor nations is unethical. Although there appears to be a shortage
in both developing and developed countries, a nurse should not have to feel that to become
successful, one must leave his or her homeland and family. Each country should address the nursing
shortage and create a system beneficial for recruiting and maintaining nurses within the country
instead of recruiting from poor nations. I believe that enticing nurses from developing countries by
offering high salaries is unfair and unethical because it worsens the state of the developing country
by creating a higher nursing shortage and devastatingly breaks the nurses family apart.

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Mekong...
As you most likely know, the Mekong river is quite essential to human and animal life in its river
basin. There are more than a few ways that us humans are dependent on the Mekong river. Some of
these are food, water and increasingly, electricity. All of the previously mentioned needs seem
important but one clashes with the others. Hydropower is Г renewable energy source which is
rising in popularity. Since hydropower is Г renewable energy source it is not believed to be
harmful to the environment. According to an expert on the topic, Professor Philip Hirsch,
Hydropower is Laos gateway to getting rich. As stated by Xaypaseuth Phomsoupha, building these
dams helps with providing Г better life for the Lao population. But the disadvantages... Show more

When the flow and force of Г river is switched, sediment is blocked. This sediment plays Г key
role in agriculture around the mekong river. Sediment is important in farming as it adds nutrients
to the soil and protects the mainland from being eroded by salt water from the sea. As salinity
rates are increasing because of the excessive dams along this river, the plants grown here are
changing as mentioned in an Al Jazeera English video on youtube. There is another natural force
that is unsettled by damming on the Mekong. This is the fish migrations as the dams block the
migrating fish, many of which are only found in this river. Four out of ten of the world s greatest
freshwater fish are found in the Mekong river, these are being threatened by dams directly as the
fish that they consume are being stopped from migrating and therefore they have Г lower chance
of getting their needed amount of nutrition. This also directly affects us humans as mentioned
earlier. Around 2.1 million tonnes of fish are found on the Mekong river, these feed close to 60
million people. Approximately 600 species of fish on the Mekong river are migratory, these make
up about 70% of the fish catch. When these fish are blocked, the amount of fish caught are much

degree to which individuals are integrated into groups . On the individual side, there were societies

Type I Taste Biochemistry
Abstract
There are complex molecular mechanisms involved in the sensation of taste, also known as
gustation. They are specific to the five differing taste qualities. Taste transduction involves taste
cells of varying structure and function. These taste cells comprise of type I glial like cells, type II
receptor cells, and type III pre synaptic cells. Through different mechanisms, the taste receptor cells
detect a respective ligand of sweet, bitter, umami, sour, and salty tastes. It has been suggested that
type I cells are involved in detection and transduction of salt through an ion channel. Type II cells
operate through G protein coupled receptors that belong to the T1R and T2R families. Neuron
synapses and ion channels aide in the performance of type III cells. Gustatory receptors play an
essential role in the detection and perception of tastes within the oral ... Show more content on

However, recent evidence suggests an additional ability of detecting salts through ion channels.
Receptor type II cells detect bitter, sweet and umami tastes. They express G protein coupled
receptors (GPCRs) that are associated with gustducin, the G protein (4). GPCRs are capable of
acting through varying second messenger systems to relay a signal to the interior of the cell. This
signaling produces increased intracellular calcium concentrations. Increases in calcium initiate ATP
release, thus triggering primary gustatory neurons in close proximity to type II cells. Type III taste
cells transduce sour and salty tastes through ion channels (5). Increases in Na+ concentrations for
salt tastes and increases in H+ concentration for sour tastes depolarize taste cells, releasing a
neurotransmitter, for instance serotonin (5). The neurotransmitters released from the cells, such as
ATP or serotonin, activate primary gustatory neurons. Signals are then carried by the axons of
primary gustatory neurons for processing to the gustatory

A Dead Boy
Dewey Skeates had just seen a dead boy. The image had been running through his mind all day.
Blood on his chest and blood on his hands and blood in his mouth. It didn t make any sense.
Death didn t exist. It just wasn t something that was physically possible until someone reached at
least one hundred and fifty years of age or so. The government had issued a statement during the
genetic renaissance that said that the whole population had had their genetic codes altered to
allow for enzymes to quickly fix anything that was broken. Dewey being an incredibly smart boy
for his eleven years, a genius one might even call him, was left stumped by the image that was
replaying over and over in his head. He saw no way for deathto be possible. His older sister, Ariata,
had suggested that maybe some people could die but no one knew when they did. He had
wholeheartedly rejected that theory, but it left his mind whirring with possibilities. Oh the endless
possibilities, he thoughtto himself.
Several hours after the days gruesome events, Dewey found himself alone in his room, pondering
the unlikeliness of the situation. His room was filled with a myriad of scientific instruments.
They were strewn across his floor along with several pieces of paper covered in calculations and
ideas. A hamster cage sat on a table in the corner. Dewey stared at the cage. It was home to his
Hamster Daxel, who was just about as old as Dewey was. Dewey silently approached the cage
wondering if hamsters

Abstract This paper uses Augmented Dickey Fuller and Phillips Perron technique for determining
whether individual crude oil prices (West Texas Intermediate, Brent, Japan crude cocktail) and
natural gas prices Henry Hub (HH), National Balancing Point (NBP), European and Japanese

in a regulated market, there is no competition or transparency, this leads to different prices in the
same market. This paper examines the long run relationship between natural gas/LNG prices in
different markets with those of respective crude oil prices using cointegration techniques
(Cuthbertson, Hall, 1992). The basic philosophy of cointegration technique is that two or more
variables may have long run relationship if they move closely together in the long run, even
though they may have drifted apart in the short run. This long run association is referred to as a
cointegrating vector. If there is a long run correlation between the variables, a regression
containing all the variables of a cointegrating vector will have a stationary error term, even if none
of the variables taken alone is stationary. Stock (1987) has

In males game the size of a Crosse varies according to player s position. Forward line and midfield
players usually use smaller sized Crosse for faster movement. Usually they use a stick that is 40 to
42 inches of size. A defender uses larger Crosses of about 52 to 72 inches. A goalie needs a medium
sized Crosse of about 40 inches. However the usual size of women Crosse is 36 to 44 inches.

Shakespeare s play Much Ado About Nothing takes place in Messina, a city state of Renaissance
Italy. The Renaissance was a period in European history believed to have been between AD 1300
and AD 1600 with a feudal society of agricultural economy and church dominated culture. It was
during the Renaissancethat Europe was transformed into a society dominated by central political
institutions with education, arts and music heavily influenced by the Christian religion. In Italy,

One of John s men enacts a scene at Hero s window with a woman who appears to be Hero.
When Claudio and Pedro observe this, they are easily deceived and Claudio angrily denounces
Hero to be hidden as though dead until Claudio regains his senses. When the constable, Dogberry,
arrests John s men, who then readily confess their guilt, Claudio is forced to admit his error in
thinking Hero would deceive him. He then mourns for her and agrees to marry her cousin. The
cousin turns out to be a disguised and forgiving Hero. After all this ado the two couples are
married and Don John is arrested.
Don Pedro is a linking character, playing many key roles in the play. In many ways, he shows the
influence of the time period. Being the prince of Aragon, a region in northeast Spain, he carries
the title of respect Don . He seems to be the stereotypical leader of the Renaissance times,
enjoying being in charge as well as possessing the ability to woo young women. He also shows
the time period in the situation with his brother Don John. Because he was born outside of
marriage, Don John has no official claim on any of his family s wealth or position. He then tries to
overthrow Pedro in battle.
Other characters positions also illustrate the time period. For example, Dogberry and Verges who
are the constable and deputy constable. Their rough habits and garbled speech show the
mannerisms of the Renaissance peasants. Hero s maidservants occasional vulgar comments also

Discrimination Against Women s Rights

Women s Rights
Discrimination against women has been a phenomenon for centuries, lack of women s rights and
equality is a long overdue issue that needs to be abolished. The need to make a concrete connection
between human rights and women s rights is ironic considering that one half of the global
population is female (Hawkins 1). Gender inequality is the pressing current human rights issue,
including disparities in education, employment, healthcare, power and decision making, violence,
and poverty that impacts billions of women and girls from every part of the world throughout their
lifetime (UN Statistical Division, 2010; UN Women, 2011a). The United Nationshas extended
efforts for growing global rights effort to compensated the deeply rooted gender inequality
(Hawkins 1). This paper addresses gender based inequality and current global human rights
initiatives focused on women, and action taken by women and human rights defenders (Hawkins
1). While human rights violations can affect all groups, including women (1), women s issues are
not the same as gender issues, although the terms are often used interchangeably (1). In its annual
report, the UN Population Fund note that gender inequality works to the disadvantages of both
women and men through impeding the growth of individuals, the development of countries, and the
evolution of societies (UN Statistical Division, 2010, UN Women, 2000). Women s

Unwind was a book filled with sass, adventure, and daring escapes. I give it a four point five

was great without being too annoying. But the ending, I feel, was a flop. It was building up to
this huge climax and it just didn t feel that exciting when it happened. Other than the ending
being a flop this was a great book and I feel that more people should read Neil Shusterman s

Harrison Ford is a great actor and he s old enough to fit the bill for the Admiral. Harrison Ford is a
grumpy little cinnamon roll in real life so I think he would do good depicting a fictional grumpy
cinnamon roll. The Admiral s third rule is that, my way is the only way (Shusterman 197), and
Harrison Ford s characters all have that sort of vibe and he plays that role quite well. The
Admiral fought in the civil war and has seen the horrors of battle, in this line it says I fought in
the Heartland War. The scars you so impertinently assumed were transplant scars came from a
grenade (Shusterman 222). The Heartland War took place many years before the events in the
book take place and Harrison Ford is around the age of seventy two, so it seems like they d be
around the same age.
I also really like Logan Lerman as Connor. Even though they screwed up the Percy Jackson
movies, I still really liked Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson and Connor reminded me of Percy
Jackson in mannerism and in looks. When Connor just randomly says nice socks (Shusterman
101), it reminds me of something Percy would have done. For me, Percy will forever be Logan
Lerman so Connor just ended up looking like Logan Lerman. Connor is described as having
brown eyes on the first page and Logan Lerman has blue eyes but I think that s a miniscule detail.

Analysis Of Am I A Good Man
Am I a good man, Clara? This simple, powerful question comes from the television show Doctor
Who, when the main character the Doctor is thinking about all of the pain he has inflicted. He
has indirectly responsible for countless deaths, is a pain to some people for his recklessness,
and is not always kind. This idea is explored throughout the show, and the characters come to the
conclusion that he is a good man because he purposefully goes out of his way to help and save
people. However, what if he did not have this quality? Would he still be a good man? In The
Odyssey, by Homer and translated by Robert Fagles, the main character Odysseusdoes lack this

However, his sheer disregard for his crew is one of his many concerning flaws. One such case of
this disregard can be shown on the island of Aeaea, where Circe (a bewitching nymph) has just
gotten the entirety of his crew drunk:
But roused by the shouts and tread of marching men, he leapt up with a start at dawn but still so
dazed he forgot to climb back down again by the long ladder headfirst from the roof he plunged,
his neck snapped from the backbone, his soul flew down to Death. (10.613 17)
This quote reveals that one of Odysseus s men has just accidently killed himself, under the
watch of Odysseus. In fact, under Odysseus s watch, the men were permitted to be constantly
drunk and stay at Circe s for a full year. Odysseus had no concern for the families he and his men
had yet to return to, and had no urgency to get the crew in a safer place and off the island of
Aeaea. It took a death to snap some sense into him. This is not a one time issue. In a later story,
Odysseus and his men have landed on the island of Thrinakia, land of Helios holy cows. Circe
has prophesied that if any of Odysseus s crew touches the cows, that they will all be killed.
Odysseus allows them to go onto the island, and simply tells them to not touch the cows, without
a reason. Within weeks, Odysseus s men kill and eat the cows, and within days, all are dead. This
blatant mistake made by Odysseus kills all of his crew, leaving him to feel guilty.

children, and therefore would sing and read to us as soon as we were born. She encouraged out
love of words and books by taking us to the library for reading time and always seemed to find
the most amazing books for us to explore. My mother is very musically gifted, so songs were
part of our daily routine. There are still little songs that pop into my head about daily tasks that
she created to help us learn and make work and learning fun. When I grew a bit older, around the
age of four, my mother formed a group with other women in our neighborhood to form a
preschool. They used the Joy School curriculum and took turns having all of us over to their homes
so that we could learn and play together. I remember there was lots of music, readingmany books,
playing all sorts of games, and a yearly Christmas program. Around this time, I began to learn
about phonics and loved figuring out which letters made which sounds. My mother tells me that
I liked to rhyme a lot as a little child because I found it fun. She said she thinks this is when my
love of poetry started to develop. As I transitioned into early elementary school, I was well
prepared to enter Kindergarten. Because I have always been pretty independent and self driven, my
mother did not really have to push me to read. I started reading the summer before Kindergarten
and knew most sight words and how to sound out words

ABSTRACT
In the present work, PVA Ag nanocomposite films with thickness 0.18 mm, constant silvercontent
(0.4 wt. %) and different time of reactions (0.1, 3, 5, 7, 9 h) were prepared by chemical reduction
methods. Structure, surface topology, photoluminescence and electrical properties of PVA Ag
nanocomposite were studied using x ray diffraction (XRD), electrometer, atomic force microscope
(AFM) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy were used to characterize the prepared
nanocomposites. X ray patterns showed the existence of Ag nanoparticles within the PVA
polymeric matrix with face centered cube (FCC) phase. It was found that the root mean square
(RMS) roughness decrease with increasing the time of reaction. While PL intensity at 427 nm
increase as the time of reaction is increased. Frank poole emission is the prevailing transport
mechanism for all samples.

Euphemisms In The Holocaust
Nazi euphemisms played an important role in the dehumanizing procedure of the Holocaust.
From the beginning Hitler spoke of the need to purify . Propaganda served as a significant device
to win over the majority of the German public who had not supported Adolf Hitler. During this
semester we have learned that words do not always serve the purpose of honest communications. In
fact, words are often used to hide truth and become a means of deceiving and misleading people.
During the Holocaust, Nazi language not only screened reality from their victims but also lessened
the truth of the Nazi involvement in the mass murder of Jews. In the language of the Nazis,
Sonderbehandlung ( special treatment ) meant execution, and the term Endlösung ( final solution )
referred to the systematic extermination and mass murder of the Jewish peoples. An example from
Goda shows how the Nazis used Terms such as euthanasia and mercy death which covered up the
murders of the handicapped, people that Hitler deemed unworthy of life . Euphemisms were used in
the death camps too. The Nazis deceived the Jews at Auschwitz; at the entrance it says Arbeit macht
frei which translates to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The memo recommending changes for gas vans at Chelmno is one of the most startling
documents in recent history. It contains a lot of coded language . It is also representative of the
cruelties performed by the Nazis. In the memo it labels the vans as special , this can be seen as a
euphemism for death device. It is startling when they refer to the Jews as a load as if they were
objects to be transported. It says that when the doors are shut the load pushes up onto it. This is
an indication that people were forced into the gas vans and most likely banged on the doors as
they were being gassed (referred to as the operation in the

Frank Ocean Channel Orange Analysis
The debut album channel Orange is a spectacular work that depicts Frank Ocean s sexuality and
sincere being. Christopher Lonny Breaux, better known by his stage name Frank Ocean was born
on October 28th 1987 in Long Beach, California. Frank was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. In
New Orleans, he was exposed to the jazzscene as well as his mother s R B CD s. Music became a
passion, he was talented in that of singing, writing and performing. Due to dilemmas with his
academic growth, he traveled back to California to begin his career as a remarkable artist. Frank
Ocean began his career as a ghostwriter. A ghostwriter can be best defined as a person who writes

In this case, Ocean wrote songs for artists such as BeyoncГ© and Justin Bieber. Being introduced
to OFWGKTA founder, Tyler the Creator gave Frank Ocean an inspiration to take his songwriting a
long way, he began to endorse his many talents.
Released on July 10th of the year 2012 was channel Orange. This is definitely one of my favorite
albums of all time; it speaks to the soul. Some may describe this album as idiosyncratic, a
peculiarity of the physical or the mental constitution. His quirky personality and ability to
convey and communicate ideas with smooth and distinctive vocals allowed him to catch the
attention of his fans including myself. channel Orange is an album that should be played from
beginning to end to fully understand the story being told. Yes, I am fully aware that an artist s
work is designed to display a message but Frank s way of showing it is rather remarkable. If we
look back to where Frank began writing, we see themes such as unrequited love, decadence, class,
and drugs. These themes are greatly used throughout this album. Being that Frank Ocean writes all
of his music, he is credible to all that occurs in his

How I Became The Foster Care System
I was six years old when I entered the foster care system. Perhaps entered is too soft of a term.
Makes it sound peaceful, which for the most part it wasn t. It s not something I want to look
back on and remember for the rest of my life, but something that significant left an imprint in my
memory. To be more precise, it s branded there. I may not remember every moment I had with
my biological parents, but I know my dad was always on a short fuse, and one day, he blew up. I
actually find it coincidental now how I never liked him to begin with. Even when I was that age,
I never let him carry me on his shoulders or toss me in the air like any normal and loving dad
would do. Then again, I guess we didn t have a normal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Especially on that day, he was dad s shadow. One second I remember looking up at my dad and
seeing him laughing. Then I looked down. Then back up. And dad suddenly slapped Gavin
across the face. I only stared as my brother fell to the floor, his hand over his cheek. He wasn t
crying, which was probably the only reason I stayed calm. When my mom ran to my dad and
pulled on his arm to get him away from Gavin, he pushed her against the wall and screamed what
sounded to me like bad words. When I ran between them saying, Mommy, daddy, don t fight, dad
picked me up and threw me onto Gavin, who d just gotten off the ground from his first strike.
Dad kept yelling at us. I didn t know why, and it scared all of us. I knew my mom was scared
because she crawled across the floor behind dad, to the coffee table just feet from her, and
swiped the little silver bottle she always carried around with her. After she scrambled back to her
corner and took a drink from it (the bottle, which I later learned was called a flask) she looked to
Gavin and me with big, sorrowful eyes. She couldn t stand up to dad at that point even if she
wanted to. The pain began to set in from my fall, so like any normal six year old I started to cry.
That s when my brother snapped into action and picked me up off the ground, immediately fleeing
the scene...right in the middle of dad s tantrum. I remember feeling him catch Gavin s shirt collar

Noise Sensor Essay
Abstract In this Paper, issues related to noise sensor application of instrumentation amplifier
through substrate coupling in system on chip design are described and demonstrated including the
physical phenomenon responsible for its creation, coupling transmission mechanism and media,
parameter affecting coupling strengths and its impact on mixed signal integrated circuits. Basic
aim is to find out magnitude of interference happening when analog and digital circuit is placed
nearby on a common substrate. It has been design to have a broad bandwidth (1 KHz to 1MHz)
with very high CMRR to cancel out the unwanted noise at its both inputs and deliver single output.
MOSFET capacitors are used for the picking of substrate interference.
Key words CMOS, , noise sensor, Substrate Coupling, Guard Banding.
Introduction
The wireless sensor network is applicable in numerous life saving critical field because of low
cost long battery life sensors. A sensor network comprises of sensors and routers to choose the
administrator host that is called the coordinator [2]. A wireless sensor network is easy to use in the
desired environment [6], and the information can be collected then processed and sent to a desired
location. Recent break trough in wireless communication and micro electro mechanical systems

Eugenics And The History Of Medical Ethics
It is impossible to understand the history of eugenics and its enduring legacies in California outside
the framework of Chicana/o history . Sterilization practices in Puerto Rico and California, pre and
post legal eugenics can be examined through the context of eugenics and the history of medical
ethics. Although steady or increasing rates of sterilizationin some cases reflected women s demands
for birth control, the lines between voluntary and coerced were often quite blurred and a case can
be made that negative eugenicswere being implemented on a societal level in both countries.1

Years and much unethical conduct in the United States later the Belmont Report established
ethical guidelines for treating patients in 1979. The main three principals are respect for persons,
beneficence, and justice. These categories include things like informed consent, weighing risk to
benefit, and fairness. It also established rules behind informed consent such as all information
must be available and comprehensible to the patient and coercion never being acceptable. This
and Principles of Biomedical Ethics by Beauchamp and Childress, which came out in the same
year, marked a major turning point in the laws regarding ethical medical practices in the United
States. However, the underlying principle of medical ethics had been around since 1780 or so
when Hippocrates directed physicians to help and do no harm .
Puerto Rican birth control regulation gained official support in 1937 when the reason for the
sterilizations moved to being about health reasons instead of economic reasons. However, poor
health is often caused by poverty so these are really one and the same. This movement was also an
attempt by the government to keep the surplus population low. Post partum sterilization was
encouraged but birth control clinics also became increasingly common. Studies were conducted that
showed a demand for permanent sterilization after which the US government openly supported
Puerto Rico s efforts. However much of this

Erwin Rommel s Impact On The World War I
Erwin Rommel was born on November 15, 1981 into a simple middle class southern German
family. Erwin Rommel would enter into military service during 1910 as an officer cadet. He saw
his first action in World War I where he began to show his natural ability as a leader and start his
illustrious career, which peaks during World War II. Erwin Rommel
would find himself revered and
respected by Hitler as one of his top generals. He would die before the defeat of Germany on
October 15, 1944 and his death would be shrouded in controversy. During his military career he
established that he was an excellent tactician and respected by his troops and even his enemies.
Erwin Rommel was born into a family that had no established military tradition joined the German
military in 1910. He would enter as an officer cadet and his first assignment was to the 124th
Wurttemberg Infantry Regiment. World War I broke out and Erwin Rommel would find himself
serving in France, Romania, and Italy. He gained notability with his senior officers during the
Battle of Caporetto for his innovative tactics used during the battle. Erwin Rommel quickly
established himself as a competent leader as a lieutenant and frontline infantry officer. Unlike his
fellow officers, he declined advancement to the general staff, which was common practice to
remain with his men on the front line. This dedication to leading on the frontline would result in
Erwin Rommel being wounded two separate times during combat.

Joint Light Tactical Vehicle ( Jltv )
Introduction
The joint light tactical vehicle (JLTV) is being destined to initiate a new era of the U.S. military
tactical vehicle that is designed to meet universal requirements for the future warfare and in hostile
environments. Thus, at the same time, Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) has been offering
fruitful case study for the assessment on its program management and procurement processes.
Therefore, this paper will briefly provide fundamental assessment on the JLTV program from the
requirement development through its current state including budgeting, acquisition process and
some challenges faced in the requirements. In addition, it will also highlight some observations on
best practices that might be applicable for the future ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, enhanced survivability and both strategic and operational transportability by sea and
air are also crucial for the JLTV project requirements. The primary mission of the Joint Light
Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) is to provide protected, sustained, and networked light tactical mobility to
the Joint forces, capable of worldwide deployment across the full spectrum of military operations
and mission profiles under all weather and terrain conditions.
In addition, it has been designed that the JLTV would support C3 in both immobile and mobile
modes, various wider ranges in complex and dynamic operational environments.
Nevertheless, initial concept composed of three variants based on different payload capabilities,
four passenger Combat Tactical Vehicle (CTV) and a two passenger Combat Support Vehicle
(CSV) variants were survived as a final choice. The Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC)
of the DoD that provides a close oversight to joint acquisition programs and makes
recommendations to the Defense Acquisition Board has approved the JLTV program which would
be led by the Army in November 2006.
It was notable that, even though, joint Army/Marine Corps had intended to issue a Request for
Proposal (RFP) for Technology Development Phase by October 2007, the Pentagon s acquisition
executive, John Young disapproved the issuance of the RFP due to deep concern on funding
adequacy, technical maturity, and shifting requirements.

The Enhancement Of Primary Care Practices
Primary care is considered by many countries as a backbone of the medical health system that is
effective and efficient and satisfies the demands of patients and families (Sebo, 2015). The
enhancement of primary care practices quality improvement (QI) orientation is essential in
strengthening the primary care practices (U.S. Department of Healthand Human Services Agency
for Healthcare Research and Quality, 2013). In addition, external supports such as feedback and
benchmarking, coaching, expert consultation, and shared learning can help primary care practices
with quality improvement and enhancing QI orientation. There are different organizations that
provide quality supports to primary care practices. One of this is the North CarolinaArea Health
Education Centers (AHECs) Practice Support Program. The aim of the program is to support
primary care practices in North Carolina by providing primary care practices with onsite QI
consultants, tools, and resources that help primary care practices transformational efforts (U.S.

Research Paper On Slang Words
Justin WherryWherry 1 Miss Bailey English IV/ P.7 24 September, 2014 Slang Words Over the
decades people have become less educated, and stopped using a higher vocabulary. In place of
the higher word choice, groups of people devolved words that are cooler to say. Those words are
called slang. Slang means words or phrases that are commonly used in the English language to
help communicate to a specific crowd of people. The crowd of people that use slang may vary to
different age groups. And over the decades more words have been devolved, making slang words

To understand why we have slang, we must understand what we use slang words for. Slang
words were meant for communication purposes. They were devolved to communicate to a
specific group people throughout the same area. For example teenagers have their own
language of slang, and so did their parents. However the difference between the two is, the
parents slang differs greatly between the teenagers slang. Parents struggle daily to try to better
communicate and understand what their son/daughter is say to them, their friends, and on
social media. Teenagers in the 21st century love to use slang words on the internet to rapidly
communicate to one another. As well as out in public, teenagers communicate using slang.
Although slang is commonly used a lot of people feel the need to not even use slang. Slang has
also devolved a negative side, most highly educated people feel that slang words are a hazard to
the English language. Not only does it make communication more difficult but at the rate slang
words will take over the vocabulary of all youth in America. When I was in school, slang words

Emily Dickinson s Some Keep The Sabbath Going To Church
Although many of Emily Dickinson s poems are short they carry many meaningful and sayings
and ideas. The unique style of her poems has caused many to ponder at her works, but is
nevertheless monumental. The length and the dashes used by Dickinson is what makes her
poems so interesting an inspiring to read. In the poem Some keep the Sabbath going to Church ,
Dickinson uses dashes to emphasize her points. The dashes also cause the reader to stop which
allows for a unique rhythm in the poem. At the time that this particular work was written the
first two lines would have probably caused someone to naturally stop, Some keep the Sabbath
going to Church / I keep it staying at Home (Dickinson 1 2). After each pause one can almost
hear a lady or gentlemen from Dickinson s time gasping at such an unpopular statement. To think
that someone would go against the status quo and say that she does not feel God s presence in
church but rather at her house is baffling. However, the last lines sums up the poems point nicely
by saying, So instead of getting to Heaven, at last / I m going, all along (Dickinson 11 12). The...

is angry at God for what she has lost by the lines, Twice have I stood a beggar/ Before the door of

describes God as Burglar! Banker Father which shows the aspects of God as being one who takes,

In the movie Brave directed by Brenda Chapman and Mark Andrews from Pixar shared a similar
storyline as The Little Mermaid which was directed by Ron Clements and John Musker from

Similarly, in between the two movies Brave and The Little Mermaid, the director focussed on the

Furthermore, the overall message of both movies is that parents and children need to listen and try

The Art Of Madame De Pompadour
Madame de Pompadour, mistress, confidante and advisor to King Louis XV of France, and later,
Lady in Waiting to his Queen, rose from the middle classes to become a woman of influence in the
French court of 1746 1764. Pompadour embraced the grand lifestyle of the aristocracy including
having her portrait painted numerous times by many artists, utilizing her influence in how she was
painted and the messages those paintings portrayed (Jones). Her court painter, Francois Boucher
represented her as an idealized beauty (Jones) especially in his masterful oil painting of 1756,
Portrait of Madame de Pompadour, which showcased her opulent lifestyle, beauty, and intelligence
(Davies 766) and status in the French court. In this portrait, Boucher sets Pompadour in an intimate
scene, typical of Rococostyle art, dressed in sumptuous silks, surrounded by books, flowers and
elaborate draperies, at her ease, gazing into the distance, caught in a moment of thought. Painted
shortly after her appointment as Lady in Waiting to the Queen, the painting is a celebration of
Pompadour s status in the French Court of King Louis XV.
The main subject of the painting is Madame de Pompadour, who sits half reclining, engulfed by
yards and yards of colorful fabrics, with gilded furnishings and flowers galore, a celebratory
painting of a femme savant (Goodman 1), at ease in her surroundings. Books and papers fill the
scene, proclaiming her intellectual prowess. An educated woman, Pompadour is

However, the article s title is too broad and vague. It does not mention neither the use of the
previously published AOAC analytical method, nor the name of the internal standard. Weakness.
Proposed title revision: Utilizing 3 NBA as an internal standard to improve an official AOAC
method to derive a simple and sensitive quantification protocol for trace level detection of patulin
in apple juice products by GC MS.
The Abstract is also presented in a coherent manner. It summarizes the objective and the main
results (LOD, LOQ, R2 values). It also highlights the advantage of the internal standard used as well
as going into detail about the simplified sample preparation and the efficient liquid extraction step,
which all contribute to the method s development.
The Abstract and Introduction are well structured, and both state the objective of the research in
enough detail (Strength). However, the title does not adequately state the same objective, and thus
it needs a revision (Weakness).
2) Methods:
The Method section is well organized, and has six separate subsections.
In the 1st subsection, all the chemicals used in the research are described. They were purchased
from Australia, where the research was done, and solvents and other compounds were HPLC grade.

Gay Conversion Therapy Essay
Although various methods of Conversion Therapy have been around since sense the dawn of
religion itself, the early 1900 s peaked interest in the so called psychiatric problem that is
homosexuality; indeed, oftentimes considered The Father of Psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud
claimed that homosexuality may be removed from the brain through hypnotism or therapeutic
torture. Through his widely respected claims, Freud, for a short era, influenced the decisions of
many Evangelical Christians with homosexual relatives. From the establishment of small
psychology centers focused on gayconversion to the opening of numerous straight camps for gay
men and lesbians, the Freudian Era of Gay Conversion and Gender Identity Therapies led to a
breakthrough in medical research regarding these ineffective treatments. All of this being true, and
even with modern medicine being of abundance in our society, certain Evangelical Christian groups
still intend on practicing this form of rehabilitation, but with our progressive American mindsets,
these should not be bearing the heavy burden of anti societal measures for much longer.

By removing Aversion Therapy from this country completely, and replacing it with a much needed
supportive therapy, we could reduce the number of adults and children with mental illnesses,

Fields; however, the speed at which we are doing so, and our actions needed to mend these
problems are enormously

Analysis Of The Plague By Albert Camus
The novel, The Plague, written by Albert Camus, will be the focal point of the Multicultural essay.
Further delving into Albert Camus and his life, he was a French philosopher, author, and journalist.
At a young age, he lost his father due to an injury suffered during World War I, and was raised
under the domineering hand of his grandmother alongside his mother (Lottman 52). Camus did
exemplary in school and through his political engagement led him to join the Communist Party.
Deeply advocating for individual rights, he became opposed to French colonization and argued for
the empowerment of his people in politics and labor, leading him to later joining the French
anarchist movement. Camus introduced and elaborated on elements of absurdism... Show more

After the quarantine lasts quite a few months, many of Oran s citizens lose their selfish obsession
with personal suffering and come to recognize the plague as a collective disaster that is everyone s
concern, and join anti plague efforts. The citizens are subjected to their Christian beliefs being
tested and the citizens must choose to believe everything or nothing about God. All or the citizens
faced difficulties during the plague epidemic, excluding Dr. Rieux, who faced irreparable
difficulties die. This leads to the other citizens difficulties becoming resolved after the quarantine
and the public quickly returns to its old routine of normalcy. Dr. Rieux knows that the fight against
the plague is endless because it can exist dormant for years. The Plague is his account of the
situation of human suffering that so many people are willing to easily forget. This novel was
chosen due to its unique characters and plot overview. The idea of absurdism is quite apparent in
this story. Absurdism is defined as the intentionally ridiculous or bizarre behavior or character or
the belief that human beings exist in a purposeless, chaotic universe. With the reintroduction of the
bubonic plague to the society, the characters begin to live in a chaotic state where they display
bizarre behaviors of indulging in selfish, personal distress, and are convinced that their suffering is
like no one else s. This

Prevention Of Recidivism Programs
Since crime in America is at an all time high, the correctional system should utilize funding
received to implement the use of more programs like the R N R (Risk, Needs, Responsivity)

high risk offenders, and the reduction of recidivismrates.
According to the NIJ, National Institute of Justice, recidivism is defined as: A person s relapse

Reality Test Should Be Used For School
Imagine yourself back in your freshman year of highschool. It is early October and field hockey
is going great. Classes are not too bad either, and reports are right around the corner. On Monday
your teacher pulls you aside and lets you know that if you do not get at least an eighty on this
next test you will not do well in the class. Not only do you have other work due for school, but
you have a job, field hockey and only two days left to study and really understand the material. This
is currently the issue with test, teachers are using them as end point grades. This means they use
them to see how much someone knows. Hence, using tests as final scoring of what they have
learned. In reality test should be used to help guide teaching. As a teacher we should realize that
test grades are affected by a lot of outside sources and are not always reliable. Test should be used
to help guide the way teachers help their students learn, not used to measure what a student
already knows. To lay a foundation for why tests should not be used to measure how much
students know, but rather used as a guide for what teachers should teach we will look at the
reliability of test. There are many factors that come into play when we are talking about test
reliability, one being that there is not real feedback when it comes to tests. In the school district
that I grew up in after our tests were graded and then given back to us with only incorrectly
answered questions marked. A lot of the time

Cinema In The Philippine Cinema
The Philippine cinema is a roller coaster ride of different emotions and genres that serves the
Filipino people entertainment and enjoyment. Over the past century or so, we ve been filled up
with a lot different stories of characters that are relatable to the people. From the adventures of
Fernando Poe Jr. s Ang Panday to the comedic acts of Babalu and Dolphy, we can say that the
Philippine filmindustry is very reputable and prestigious just like those of in the other countries. In
today s generation, personally, I think people are getting sick of movies that depict mistresses and
anything about them. I also think that one of the genres that are on the rise is the Independent
films. Erik Matti s Indie film, Honor Thy Father, brings a very different tone and story to the plate.
The movie starts off with Edgar (John Lloyd Cruz) picking up his daughter from school. The scene
shifts to their house where Kaye (Meryll Soriano), Edgar s wife, is persuading a group of
friends to invest in her father s business where everyone gets significantly rich. Edgar sits from
behind, listening to how people believe in his wife s words. The next scene shows the essential
part of the story because the movie uses religion as a device to show the irony of being projected
as pure and wholesome can hide the evilness and cruelty of a person. Edgar s family is part of this
religious organization called the Church of Yeshua but Edgar is seen staring at the money being
donated by the people and

such as the Civil Rights Movement, the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the entry and war of
Vietnam. The sixties are known for being a controversial and politically challenge era, but there
were also many other activists that were important but lesser known. The sixties also represented
the movement of countercultures, identity politics and liberation movements. These challenges and

The Black Panthers represented the ideologies of black power and that political and economic gains
can mainly be obtained through self empowerment and growth. The group was somewhat militant
and tended to cause tensions, sometimes resulting in jail time, however, the group did a lot their
own communities, such as free breakfast for children and educational programs for all.
Similar to the ideas of Black Power, the lesbian, gay, and the second wave feminist movements
of the 1960 s were not ashamed instead they felt proud and empowered. The LGBT groups were
urged to engage with protests for radical changes while embracing and reducing criticism of who
their sexual preferences. The feminist ideologies of approaching these issues were to come out to
family members, friends, and colleagues, with no regret and living life openly as gay or lesbian.
The Gay Liberation movement had formed and radicalized in the late 60 s in response to the
Stonewall riots of the 1960s, in which a group of trans, lesbian, drag, and gay patrons resisted
arrest during a raid in New York City. After the Raid, many groups were formed such as the Gay
Liberation Front and the Gay Activist Alliance. These were just some other examples of how
identity policies were relevant in shaping the culture of the 1960s.
The feminist movement was also a common factor in shaping the 1960s and an ongoing process.

Al Nadaha in Arabic literally means The Caller . She is said to be a stunningly beautiful woman
who appears by the shores of the Nile in the dark, she s described as tall and beautiful with long
dark hair flowing her back, she wears a long white or transparent dress. She has an alluring soft
voice that hypnotizes whoever she decides to call and make them unable to resist her charm so
they follow her to the river where they would meet their dreadful fate.
It s said that Al Nadaha only calls for men by their first name, her voice is soft but the call is still

creatures in different folklores which are not significantly different from Al Nadaha.
Aisha Qandisha: She s a malicious cannibal water creature in the folklore of Morocco. Same as Al
Nadaha, she s described as a beautiful woman who lurks on the banks of the river waiting for any
lone man to lure, she then will reveal her true shape and consume him under the water.

Civilisation be Avoided? Paul and Anne Ehrlich explore the current ecological and socio cultural
trends that they believe, if left untreated, will lead to the inevitable collapse. Unlike past

There are at least two billion people are hungry or malnourished and the Food and Agriculture
Organisation estimates that food production will need to increase by 70% (FAO Report, 2009)
to keep up with the demands of a growing population. Overconsumption also contributes to the
widening gap. In fact, if every person consumed resources at a US level, four to five more earths
would be needed! (Ehrlich, 2013)The article also poses the question of how best to humanely
restrict population growth. It is suggested that women should be provided with access to
education and all sexually active people are provided with contraception and access to abortions, a
decision that would meet much opposition from religious organisations. Finally, Ehrlich discusses
the role of the scientific community and the need for global cooperation if anything is to be done.
The need for better education is greatly emphasised, not only for the public but also for
governments and economists. Collaboration between social scientists and natural scientists is
suggested in order to better understand how to facilitate the mobilization of society that is
required to solve these issues on a global level. Public myths such as the saving powers of
technological innovation need to be broken and an emphasis placed on developing foresight
intelligence , which Ehrlich claims will provide the long term analysis and

The Guildsmen In The Canterbury Tales
The Guildsmen of The Canterbury Tales
Step 1 Prewriting: The Guildsmen were a group of men a part of a labor union. The carpenter,
the weaver, the haberdasher, the dyer, and the carpet maker all traveled together due to their
similar trades. They did this so they could increase the prices of their good. These men were all
very successful in their respective trades. The men dressed in very fancy attire. The Guildsmen
were also very proud of how well they treated their wives.
Step 2 Prewriting: There was only one word from the textbook that I did not understand. The word
is dais, which means seats of honor, or a throne.

They not only dressed out themselves and their wives, but also their horses. Do not be mistaken, not
all craftsmen behaved in this manner. Some craftsmen were monks! A monk named Bertinus lived
in a monastery, devoting himself to work, prayer and study (Price 14). The Guildsmen that Chaucer
wrote about were very boastful and showy with their wealth, but not all craftsmen were like that.
There is not much to infer from the Guildsmen, due to Chaucer not getting to their stories before
his passing. But based upon how they boast their wealth, we can assume that they were stuck up in
some manners. As previously stated, they showed off their wealth with silver knives and fancy
pouches and girdles to the other merchants and craftsmen. They completely spoiled their wives as
well.
The Guildsmen were all in livery (Chaucer 153). They dressed in clothing associated with their
trade. Back then, craftsmen all wore a certain type of uniform based on their craft. Kind of similar
to the way jobs wear certain uniforms. For example, at the UPS Store the standard uniform is a
collared shirt, either brown in light green, with khaki pants.
Based on the information of the Guildsmen, we can infer that these men either rode on horse or
buggy. We can also infer that the horses or buggy were welled dressed up to show off their
wealth! Horses were basically a necessity during this time period. They were the only form of

The Most Common And Well Known Variation Of Md Is Duchenne
The most common and well known variation of MD is Duchenne MD (DMD). The person in
history who gets the credit for first studying and publishing details on this type of MD is rather
complicated. The disease is actually named after Gulliaume Benjamin Amand Duchenne.
Duchenne first described his details of the disease in the late 1800s. Since the disease is named
after him, it is highly accepted that he was the first; however, there are many that simply do not
agree on the matter. It has now come to light that a doctor from the United Kingdom named
Edward Meryon actually wrote his own account on the disease a decade before Duchenne. This
type accounts for about half of all MD cases 2. Scott Giles stated that the incidence of DMD is...

The enlarged calf muscle may be the next noticeable trait of a DMD patient. The patient s calf s
look like they have muscle, but this enlargement of the calves is actually fat. This is referred to
as pseudo hypertrophy, and patients with pseudo hypertrophy of the calves usually walk on their
toes due to the contracture. Another initial sign of DMD would be waddling gait 1. This form of
walking looks like a duck in a sense. It is where the alternating steps are overstated and the hips are
elevated more than normal.
Usually once atrophy of the hip musculature is noticed, shoulder weakness in noticed also. Those
inflicted with DMD will also have trouble with overhead activates, and keeping the shoulders
flexed for long periods of time. Scott M. Giles actually lists the following muscles affected by
DMD: Shoulder girdle musculature, pectorals, deltoids, rectus abdominals, gluteals, hamstrings,
and calf muscles 6. DMD patients continue to lose control and strength in their lower extremity
musculature and eventually have so much trouble walking they are confined to a wheelchair.
There is not a set age where this occurs, but the average is around twelve years old. The DMD
muscles involved in eating, drinking, and of the eye are not touched by the disease. They usually
do not have any hearing deficits or stroke disorders 1.

On DCUMDs, well followed set from Ward III for parents overshadows site s forums which are swarming with a lot of questions and issues like when do people reveal their revenue, if people can pilfer strollers or can children be hungry all the time when they are suffering from obesity. Population which is perceptible to the question of class and its division came into collision with those who were not capable to understand the guilt of money in questions of everyday life of D. C. Some user made a post that it was insufferable, while the other said to put an end to the embarrassment and pay for mothers services already and that she would be grateful for it more, as the indigent people also had their merits. It was these type of conflicts made the WashingtonCity Paper to rename the DC Urban Moms and Dads message board into The Mommy Fight Site. Besides, money is one of the hottest topics in the Internet and DCUMD is not an exception, and it turned out like a real bomb in forums discussions. Psychologists say that our society is oriented towards money, this theme is always actual and in a top of any kind of discussion. People observe different examples of people who are gaining a large sum of money or just have it, thus other people take them as a role model and as a result, they aspire to people s gains. So in this term people are just trying to draw and maintain their prestigious image, while successful people are prototypes for this making image society and District ... • 3. Current Rate Of Third Semester Pathway Students As a Data Analyst, I am responsible for assisting in projections and forecasting of enrollment as well as institutional research projects. This includes use of Excel and R to run statistical analyses in answering enrollment and research questions. Key to projecting enrollment is a file we use called the Decision Model We track various aspects of enrollment to help predict future enrollment. For example, we track the amount of third semester pathway students since they will likely be matriculating into the Online Degree Program. We also track the percentage of third semester students who have historically matriculated. This way we can apply the same percentage to the current rate of third semester Pathway students to estimate new online students. This same principle is applied all throughout the decision model, enrollment is broken out into categories of different students and indicators that can help predict that category. Regression analysis is used often to answer research questions. Using R, linear regression helps to shed light on the effects of any number of factors into college success. In addition, I have been able to use skills from excel courses on a regular basis to create charts and graphs as well as prepare and analyze spreadsheets. Finally, the principles of thinking like an economist often contribute to projects that I worked on. Mostly when I ve needed to understand why students are behaving in a certain way or thinking about how to present data in the most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Malaysia Airlines reported for the missing flight at 7:24 MYT carrying 239 passengers including 12 Malaysian crew. The disappearance and supposedly crashed flight MH370 disturbed consumer confidence in the airline with share prices falling. In a span of four months, another Malaysia Airline was shot down over Ukraine. Even with the planned route airline earned criticism for travelling over conflict zone. Malaysia Airlines was struggling for cost cutting to compete with a wave of new, low cost without a distress signal. They lost almost US $137.4 million in the first quarter of 2014. Malaysian Airlines made no profit since 2010. In last three years, Malaysia Airlines booked losses of US $1.25 billion. The company s stock fell by 20% following the disappearance of Flight MH370 and had fallen 80% over the previous five years. Following the disappearance, ticket sale had declined. Especially in China it was down by 60% in the month of March. Also, there was a spike in resignation from the flight crew though it was below industry norms. • 5. Differences Between Animal Farm And The Truman Show Living a good life and trying to pursue the unattainable utopian society takes power, but not everyone has the power to make these things reality. The good life and the utopian society will stay elusive unless one has the ambition to want to thrive and fight for power and control over their own life. The Truman Show, directed by Peter Weir, conveys the idea that everyone has a different perspective as to what the good life and utopiais so, in order to obtain it, Truman must fight for the power and freedom to control his own life. Likewise, in Animal Farm, George Orwell explores how the animals believe that to be able to obtain the unreachable utopian society and good life they must first have power and control over their own lives. To do so they must get rid of Mr Jones, but they soon grow to realise that even once you have power and control, too much power can easily be abused. A good life is a term for the life that one would like to live. It s a life in which one has the freedom to self direct their own life. Truman has the perfect wife, the perfect house, perfect job and perfect friends but does that really matter if he doesn t have freedom? In The Truman Show, Weir expresses that without freedom the good life is unattainable, one can never truly be happy and content with their life unless they have freedom. We see this most clearly when Truman is so determined to Thrive in life and escape from the dome that the good life Christof has endowed for him doesn t matter. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Alternative Dispute Resolution And The Different Types Of It In this essay I will address what alternative dispute resolution is and the different types of it. ADR stands for Alternative dispute resolution is something that provides an alternative way of settling civil disputes than the traditional way using the courts. The main forms of Alternative dispute resolution are being arbitration, adjudication mediationand conciliation, however in the United Kingdom the most commonly used alternative dispute resolutions are arbitration and mediation but adjudication is becoming rapidly more popular. Adjudication is another form of alternative dispute resolutionthat stems from Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act (Construction Act). This Act was introduced in 1996 in the United Kingdom. Even though the Act was created to ensure that the process remains informal, this has recently changed where parties that are in dispute are now serving official documents such as witness statements, expert reports etc. Though recently The Alternative Dispute Resolutionfor Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015 was passed and deals with how consumer disputes are handled. Arbitration is a form of alternative dispute resolution that aims to solve disputes outside the courts by a third party called arbitrators. The arbitrators review the case facts and evidence and gives out a verdict that is legally binding and therefore enforceable. Both parties agree beforehand to abide by the decision that the arbitrators ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Nurse Poaching Poor Countries I believe that nurse poaching from poor nations is unethical. Although there appears to be a shortage in both developing and developed countries, a nurse should not have to feel that to become successful, one must leave his or her homeland and family. Each country should address the nursing shortage and create a system beneficial for recruiting and maintaining nurses within the country instead of recruiting from poor nations. I believe that enticing nurses from developing countries by offering high salaries is unfair and unethical because it worsens the state of the developing country by creating a higher nursing shortage and devastatingly breaks the nurses family apart. There are more than a few ways that us humans are dependent on the Mekong river. Some of these are food, water and increasingly, electricity. All of the previously mentioned needs seem important but one clashes with the others. Hydropower is Г renewable energy source which is rising in popularity. Since hydropower is Г renewable energy source it is not believed to be harmful to the environment. According to an expert on the topic, Professor Philip Hirsch, Hydropower is Laos gateway to getting rich. As stated by Xaypaseuth Phomsoupha, building these dams helps with providing Г better life for the Lao population. But the disadvantages... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the flow and force of Г river is switched, sediment is blocked. This sediment plays Г key role in agriculture around the mekong river. Sediment is important in farming as it adds nutrients to the soil and protects the mainland from being eroded by salt water from the sea. As salinity rates are increasing because of the excessive dams along this river, the plants grown here are changing as mentioned in an Al Jazeera English video on youtube. There is another natural force that is unsettled by damming on the Mekong. This is the fish migrations as the dams block the migrating fish, many of which are only found in this river. Four out of ten of the world s greatest freshwater fish are found in the Mekong river, these are being threatened by dams directly as the fish that they consume are being stopped from migrating and therefore they have Г lower chance of getting their needed amount of nutrition. This also directly affects us humans as mentioned earlier. Around 2.1 million tonnes of fish are found on the Mekong river, these feed close to 60 million people. Approximately 600 species of fish on the Mekong river are migratory, these make up about 70% of the fish catch. When these fish are blocked, the amount of fish caught are much ... Individualism versus collectivism is The degree to which individuals are integrated into groups . On the individual side, there were societies where ties among members are loose and very selfish, when they only take care of themselves and their families. On the contrary, there were societies where people with high collectivism are often cohesive and integrated into group. Masculinity versus femininity is the distribution of emotional roles between genders . Masculine cultures tend to be paternalistic, for example in some Asian countries men often have more power in families. • 10. Type I Taste Biochemistry Abstract There are complex molecular mechanisms involved in the sensation of taste, also known as gustation. They are specific to the five differing taste qualities. Taste transduction involves taste cells of varying structure and function. These taste cells comprise of type I glial like cells, type II receptor cells, and type III pre synaptic cells. Through different mechanisms, the taste receptor cells detect a respective ligand of sweet, bitter, umami, sour, and salty tastes. It has been suggested that type I cells are involved in detection and transduction of salt through an ion channel. Type II cells operate through G protein coupled receptors that belong to the T1R and T2R families. Neuron synapses and ion channels aide in the performance of type III cells. Gustatory receptors play an essential role in the detection and perception of tastes within the oral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, recent evidence suggests an additional ability of detecting salts through ion channels. Receptor type II cells detect bitter, sweet and umami tastes. They express G protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) that are associated with gustducin, the G protein (4). GPCRs are capable of acting through varying second messenger systems to relay a signal to the interior of the cell. This signaling produces increased intracellular calcium concentrations. Increases in calcium initiate ATP release, thus triggering primary gustatory neurons in close proximity to type II cells. Type III taste cells transduce sour and salty tastes through ion channels (5). Increases in Na+ concentrations for salt tastes and increases in H+ concentration for sour tastes depolarize taste cells, releasing a neurotransmitter, for instance serotonin (5). The neurotransmitters released from the cells, such as ATP or serotonin, activate primary gustatory neurons. Signals are then carried by the axons of primary gustatory neurons for processing to the gustatory ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. A Dead Boy Dewey Skeates had just seen a dead boy. The image had been running through his mind all day. Blood on his chest and blood on his hands and blood in his mouth. It didn t make any sense. Death didn t exist. It just wasn t something that was physically possible until someone reached at least one hundred and fifty years of age or so. The government had issued a statement during the genetic renaissance that said that the whole population had had their genetic codes altered to allow for enzymes to quickly fix anything that was broken. Dewey being an incredibly smart boy for his eleven years, a genius one might even call him, was left stumped by the image that was replaying over and over in his head. He saw no way for deathto be possible. His older sister, Ariata, had suggested that maybe some people could die but no one knew when they did. He had wholeheartedly rejected that theory, but it left his mind whirring with possibilities. Oh the endless possibilities, he thoughtto himself. Several hours after the days gruesome events, Dewey found himself alone in his room, pondering the unlikeliness of the situation. His room was filled with a myriad of scientific instruments. They were strewn across his floor along with several pieces of paper covered in calculations and ideas. A hamster cage sat on a table in the corner. Dewey stared at the cage. It was home to his Hamster Daxel, who was just about as old as Dewey was. Dewey silently approached the cage wondering if hamsters ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This paper examines the long run relationship between natural gas/LNG prices in different markets with those of respective crude oil prices using cointegration techniques (Cuthbertson, Hall, 1992). The basic philosophy of cointegration technique is that two or more variables may have long run relationship if they move closely together in the long run, even though they may have drifted apart in the short run. This long run association is referred to as a cointegrating vector. If there is a long run correlation between the variables, a regression containing all the variables of a cointegrating vector will have a stationary error term, even if none of the variables taken alone is stationary. Discrimination Against Women s Rights Alexandra Heck Contemp Perspectives Raju Parrakkal 13 October 2015 Women s Rights Discrimination against women has been a phenomenon for centuries, lack of women s rights and equality is a long overdue issue that needs to be abolished. The need to make a concrete connection between human rights and women s rights is ironic considering that one half of the global population is female (Hawkins 1). Gender inequality is the pressing current human rights issue, including disparities in education, employment, healthcare, power and decision making, violence, and poverty that impacts billions of women and girls from every part of the world throughout their lifetime (UN Statistical Division, 2010; UN Women, 2011a). The United Nationshas extended efforts for growing global rights effort to compensated the deeply rooted gender inequality (Hawkins 1). This paper addresses gender based inequality and current global human rights initiatives focused on women, and action taken by women and human rights defenders (Hawkins 1). While human rights violations can affect all groups, including women (1), women s issues are not the same as gender issues, although the terms are often used interchangeably (1). In its annual report, the UN Population Fund note that gender inequality works to the disadvantages of both women and men through impeding the growth of individuals, the development of countries, and the evolution of societies (UN Statistical Division, 2010, UN Women, 2000). (10.613 17) This quote reveals that one of Odysseus s men has just accidently killed himself, under the watch of Odysseus. In fact, under Odysseus s watch, the men were permitted to be constantly drunk and stay at Circe s for a full year. Odysseus had no concern for the families he and his men had yet to return to, and had no urgency to get the crew in a safer place and off the island of Aeaea. It took a death to snap some sense into him. This is not a one time issue. In a later story, Odysseus and his men have landed on the island of Thrinakia, land of Helios holy cows. Circe has prophesied that if any of Odysseus s crew touches the cows, that they will all be killed. Odysseus allows them to go onto the island, and simply tells them to not touch the cows, without a reason. Within weeks, Odysseus s men kill and eat the cows, and within days, all are dead. Propaganda served as a significant device to win over the majority of the German public who had not supported Adolf Hitler. During this semester we have learned that words do not always serve the purpose of honest communications. In fact, words are often used to hide truth and become a means of deceiving and misleading people. During the Holocaust, Nazi language not only screened reality from their victims but also lessened the truth of the Nazi involvement in the mass murder of Jews. In the language of the Nazis, Sonderbehandlung ( special treatment ) meant execution, and the term Endlösung ( final solution ) referred to the systematic extermination and mass murder of the Jewish peoples. The unique style of her poems has caused many to ponder at her works, but is nevertheless monumental. The length and the dashes used by Dickinson is what makes her poems so interesting an inspiring to read. In the poem Some keep the Sabbath going to Church , Dickinson uses dashes to emphasize her points. The dashes also cause the reader to stop which allows for a unique rhythm in the poem. At the time that this particular work was written the first two lines would have probably caused someone to naturally stop, Some keep the Sabbath going to Church / I keep it staying at Home (Dickinson 1 2). After each pause one can almost hear a lady or gentlemen from Dickinson s time gasping at such an unpopular statement. To think that someone would go against the status quo and say that she does not feel God s presence in church but rather at her house is baffling. They not only dressed out themselves and their wives, but also their horses. Do not be mistaken, not all craftsmen behaved in this manner. Some craftsmen were monks! A monk named Bertinus lived in a monastery, devoting himself to work, prayer and study (Price 14). The Guildsmen that Chaucer wrote about were very boastful and showy with their wealth, but not all craftsmen were like that. There is not much to infer from the Guildsmen, due to Chaucer not getting to their stories before his passing. But based upon how they boast their wealth, we can assume that they were stuck up in some manners. As previously stated, they showed off their wealth with silver knives and fancy pouches and girdles to the other merchants and craftsmen. They completely spoiled their wives as well. The Guildsmen were all in livery (Chaucer 153). They dressed in clothing associated with their trade. Back then, craftsmen all wore a certain type of uniform based on their craft. Kind of similar to the way jobs wear certain uniforms. For example, at the UPS Store the standard uniform is a collared shirt, either brown in light green, with khaki pants. Based on the information of the Guildsmen, we can infer that these men either rode on horse or buggy. We can also infer that the horses or buggy were welled dressed up to show off their wealth! Horses were basically a necessity during this time period. They were the only form of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The person in history who gets the credit for first studying and publishing details on this type of MD is rather complicated. The disease is actually named after Gulliaume Benjamin Amand Duchenne. Duchenne first described his details of the disease in the late 1800s. Since the disease is named after him, it is highly accepted that he was the first; however, there are many that simply do not agree on the matter. It has now come to light that a doctor from the United Kingdom named Edward Meryon actually wrote his own account on the disease a decade before Duchenne. This type accounts for about half of all MD cases 2. Scott Giles stated that the incidence of DMD is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The enlarged calf muscle may be the next noticeable trait of a DMD patient. The patient s calf s look like they have muscle, but this enlargement of the calves is actually fat. This is referred to as pseudo hypertrophy, and patients with pseudo hypertrophy of the calves usually walk on their toes due to the contracture. Another initial sign of DMD would be waddling gait 1. This form of walking looks like a duck in a sense. It is where the alternating steps are overstated and the hips are elevated more than normal. Usually once atrophy of the hip musculature is noticed, shoulder weakness in noticed also. Those inflicted with DMD will also have trouble with overhead activates, and keeping the shoulders flexed for long periods of time. Scott M. Giles actually lists the following muscles affected by DMD: Shoulder girdle musculature, pectorals, deltoids, rectus abdominals, gluteals, hamstrings, and calf muscles 6. DMD patients continue to lose control and strength in their lower extremity musculature and eventually have so much trouble walking they are confined to a wheelchair. There is not a set age where this occurs, but the average is around twelve years old. The DMD muscles involved in eating, drinking, and of the eye are not touched by the disease. They usually do not have any hearing deficits or stroke disorders 1. There are several additional complications with DMD. It ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
