My Hero Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "My Hero" may initially seem like a straightforward task, as it
revolves around a personal narrative and the admiration one holds for a significant figure in their
life. However, delving into the intricacies of such a theme can prove to be a challenging
endeavor. The difficulty lies not in the shortage of content but rather in the abundance of
emotions and experiences that need to be encapsulated within the confines of an essay.
The first hurdle is the deeply personal nature of the subject matter. Unraveling the layers of
emotions and memories associated with a hero requires introspection and self-reflection, often
leading to a rollercoaster of sentiments. Translating these feelings into coherent and engaging
prose demands a delicate balance between sincerity and storytelling prowess.
Moreover, the challenge extends to avoiding clichГ©s and generic expressions that may dilute
the uniqueness of the hero's impact. It's not just about narrating the hero's actions but also about
capturing the essence of their character and the profound influence they have had on the writer's
life. This necessitates a meticulous choice of words and a thoughtful exploration of specific
instances that showcase the hero's qualities.
Another complexity arises in striking the right tone – one that conveys admiration without
veering into idolatry and authenticity without descending into sentimentality. Balancing the
emotional connection with the hero and maintaining a critical perspective is crucial to ensure that
the essay resonates with readers on a deeper level.
The process of crafting a "My Hero" essay also involves grappling with the challenge of
structure. Arranging memories and anecdotes in a logical sequence while maintaining a coherent
narrative flow demands careful planning and organization. The essay should unfold naturally,
guiding the reader through a journey of discovery and appreciation.
In conclusion, writing a compelling essay on the topic of "My Hero" is no simple task. It requires
a writer to navigate the complexities of personal emotions, avoid common pitfalls, strike the
right emotional tone, and organize the content in a cohesive manner. However, overcoming these
challenges can result in a powerful and resonant piece that not only honors the hero but also
invites readers to reflect on their own sources of inspiration.

Report on Business Culture in Saudi Arabia
Report on Business Culture in Saudi Arabia
Executive summary: With the globalization of world business, Saudi Arabia has
become an appealing market for foreign investors. But there has long been belief that
the market of Saudi Arabia is difficult to develop and the culture there is inconsistent
with the world. The problem of cross cultural management arises as the cooperation
between Saudi Arabia and its world partners continue to increase at an unprecedented
rate. This paper analyses commercial and cultural feature of Saudi Arabia, presenting
an understanding on the general cultural differences between Saudi Arabia and
Singapore by applying different cultural dimensions. And it explains the influence of

Culture is the collective programming of the mind which distinguishes the members
of one category of people from another. (Hofstede, 1991) There are four cultural
dimensions that were defined in Hofstede s research: Power distance, Uncertainty
avoidance, Individualism, Masculinity, and recently Hofstede add one more: long
term short term orientation. In this part of paper, comparison between Singapore and
Saudi Arabia will be discussed, by focusing Hofstede s cultural dimensions as a point
of reference 2.1 The dimension of individualism collectivism
We know that there is a diverse population in Singapore, consisting mainly of
Chinese, Malay and Indians, all of which does not possess one single dominant
national identity. Drawing on a variety of traditions, different ethnic groups all
consider themselves important parts of the diverse society of Singapore. However,
In the Saudi Arabia society, most people believe in Islam, and religious control of
Islam and its influence on the country are political, economical and can be seen in
people s daily life. Neglecting of religion may cause troubles in business activities. In
Islam canon, the most important are: religious service, almsgiving, fasting and
pilgrimage and other activities. Religious service is a ceremony that shows gratitude,
What Was The Expansion Of Westward Expansion
During the 1800s, the United States institutionalized the concept of expansionism
throughout its states. This long term event is known as the westward expansion, a
time when the United States government deemed it necessary to increase the
agricultural use of land, as well as to create a transcontinental railroad that connected
Eastern states with Western states. This, however exceedingly great, resulted in the
systematic destruction of Native American land, practices, and beliefs. Decimation of
these things was generated through the policies implemented by the United States, as
the policies attempted to assimilate Native Americans. Native Americans were
viewed as an obstacle for the construction, as well as the expansion of the west, thus
the United States devised policies that would ultimately set forth the dismantling of
Native American territories. First and foremost, the Dawes Act, enacted in 1887,
advocated for the separation and disjointing of Native American territories, in favor
of putting the Natives on reservations. In the act, it proclaims that ...where any tribe
or band of Indians have been, or shall hereafter be, located [placed] upon any
reservation created for their use... (Dawes Act). Illustrating that a policy, implemented
by the United States, specifically targeted Native Americans land by fractionalizing
their territories into smaller, more controllable areas known as reservations. Similarly,
the Indian Removal Act of 1830 suggested the literal

1.Provide a character analysis of Lt. Cross in The Things They Carried. (20 pts.)
In the story The Things They Carried by Tim O Brien, Lt. Cross is a young soldier
who like many others was drafted into the war. Though he is the leader of the
Alpha Company, he doesn t show it, he is not emotionally nor patriotically
devoted. Lt. Cross was distracted from the war that was going on by his feelings
for Martha whose letters and photos were a fantasy to him. Whenever he looked at
the photographs, he thought of new things he should ve done (O Brien 470). As the
war goes on Cross becomes a dynamic character. The death of Ted Lavender served as

3.Discuss irony in Saboteur. (20 pts.)
In the story Saboteur by Ha Jin there are multiple ironic events that happen
throughout the story. The name of the story is ironic because the word Saboteur is
used for one who intentionally obstructs something. In the beginning of the story,
Mr. Chiu who is a communist is arrested for confronting a police officer who
purposefully throws a bowl of tea on him and his wife s sandals; it is then that he
becomes a saboteur to the public. ... You re a saboteur, you know that? You re
disrupting public order (Jin 309). While in jail Mr. Chiu realizes that his Hepatitis is
relapsing but when he tries to tell the authorities (who are supposed to help and
protect us) they tell him that they cannot do anything for him so he has to sit until
Monday. No leader is on duty on the weekend. You have to wait till Monday (Jin
312). After Mr. Chiu is released, he visits food stands and ends up contaminating
innocent people with Hepatitis as revenge for what they put him through. Within a
month over eight hundred people contracted acute hepatitis in Muji. Six die of the
disease (Jin 316).
4.What is the symbolism of the use of two in Hills like White Elephants?

The Tragedy Of Euripides Medea
Euripides Medea is considered, according to Aristotle s Poetics, a tragedy. The play
centers on Medea, an outsider and wife to Jason, who seeks to punish Jason for
taking another wife. The play is considered a tragedy because it contains the three
unities as well as the six elements of drama mentioned by Aristotle. Despite the fact
that the does the play fits the criteria of what Aristotle considers tragedy, however,
Medea is actually not a tragedy but tells the story about a successful revenge. In the
Poetics, Aristotle has established a criteria consisting of four requirements that
character must have to be considered the tragic hero. Medea, however, is not a tragic
character because she does not possess two of the four requirements: goodness and
correctness. Aristotle s first requirement of goodness states: The persons wit[ have
character ifin the way previousty stated their speech or their action reveals the
moraI quality of some choice, and good character if a good choice (Aristotle 130).
Having a good character will allow provoke pity and fear in a tragedy. Medea
however does not possess the good quality. She does not express it through the
course of the play in her actions. In the opening of the play, the nurse makes it
known that she wished that the Argo never had set sail (1) which indicates the idea
that the only time Medea was possibly good is before Jason set sail to seek the
golden pelt for Pelias (6 7). Medea fell in love with him and because of it
Us Gaap Vs. Ifrs
There are vast and numerous differences between US GAAP and IFRS. The
biggest conceptual difference between US GAAP and IFRS is that US GAAP is
rule based while IFRS is principle based. Because of this, there are numerous
accounting topics that are handled differently between US GAAP and IFRS. It is
argued that IFRS fits the actual economics of business transactions more than US
GAAP, as IFRS looks more at the substance of transactions. US GAAP, on the other
hand, is more concerned with having exact rules to deal with accounting situations.
Both the United States and the over 110 countries that use IFRS are working
towards a global accounting standard; however, due to the cost and complexity of
this process, convergence of US GAAP and IFRS may take years or even decades
longer than expected, if indeed they are ever fully converged. Some key areas in
which the two systems differ are inventoryvaluation, classification of leases, revenue
recognition including the construction industry, the handling of intangibles including
research and development, depreciationmethods, and business combinations. While
there are many other differences in US GAAP and IFRS, this paper is limited in
scope to those listed above.
In the accounting world, there are many different ways to track and value inventory.
Commonly used methods in US GAAP include FIFO, LIFO, Specific ID, and
Weighed Average. This allows companies a great deal of flexibility on how their
inventory appears on the

For our products, we try to make it eco friendly as possible. We try to eliminate
harmful ingredients in our cleaning products. It can leverage their tactics by putting
advertisements on YouTube, TV etc. surely it will cost some money but more people
will look at it rather than displaying ads on newspapers. At Whole Foods, we strive to
tell our audience that our products are Responsibly grown. Key features that we look

The Catcher in the Rye vs. Looking For Alaska
Looking For Alaska vs. The Catcher in the Rye Many parallels can be drawn
between the main protagonists in John Green s Looking for Alaska, and J.D.
Salinger s Catcher in the Rye. Although these two coming of age novels differ
greatly in setting and in circumstance, many of the broader, more fundamental
themes in each are actually quite similar. John Green was very much influenced by
J.D. Salinger, and even admitted that Miles Pudge Halter in Looking For Alaska, was
based largely off of Holden Caulfield, the main character in Catcher in the Rye. In
reading the two books, this statement becomes less and less difficult to believe as we
see ignorance, rebellion against authority, death, isolation, and eventually maturity,

In a conversation with her after she passes, he says, You can t just make me
different then leave. (...) Because I was fine before, Alaska. I was fine with just me
and last words and school friends, and you can t just make me different and then
die. (Looking For Alaska, p. 172). It s interesting that Miles seems to personify
Alaska throughout the rest of the book after she s dead, much like Holden does in
The Catcher in the Rye. Although the reader never meets Holden s little brother,
Allie Caulfield, we sure do hear a lot about him throughout the book. He died of
leukemia on July 18, 1946, when he was eleven and Holden was thirteen. He
describes the dark memory to the reader by saying, I was only thirteen, and they
were going to have me psychoanalyzed and all, because I broke all the goddam
windows in the garage. I don t blame them. I really don t. I slept in the garage the
night he died, and I broke all the goddam windows with my fist just for the hell of
it. (The Catcher in the Rye, p. 50). It s clear that Holden and Miles have in common
that they can t just move on when dealing with a death, but they have to heal and
take their time to work it out. Holden and Miles both individually deal with isolation
in their respective circumstances, Miles experiences it post Alaska Young s sudden
death, and Holden goes through it merely being on his own. Some time after Alaska
s funeral, Miles speaks to Takumi for the

species of rhinos. The black rhinoceros and the white rhinoceros both live in Africa.
The Indian, the Javan and the Sumatran rhinoceros live in Asia. Both African
rhinoceros look very similar, they are both a blueish grey color with two horns. They
are often called a different name to easily differentiate them. The black rhino is
called the hook lipped rhinocerosand the white rhino is called the square lipped
rhinoceros. They are called this because their lips are specialized to eat different
foods. The black rhino has two horns that can grow up to four and a half feet. They

in Asia is the Indian rhino, which is also known as the greater one horned rhino. It
stands up to eight feet tall and weighs nearly two tons. The rhino lives in tall
weeds, which it often feeds on, and marshy forests. The Javan rhino, now only
found in Java, is a small relative to the Indian rhino. The Java rhino lives in forested
hills and feeds off the grass and fruit. The Sumatran rhino is the smallest rhino. It
stands at only four and a half feet and weighs only a ton. The rhino lives in the hills

Compare And Contrast The Calvinists And The Catholicists
The Catholics and the Calvinists were both responsible for tensions because they
brought the religious pressures and battles on themselves after years of animosity.
With the introduction of new religions on the rise during that era this turned into a
power battle among the religions. The Protestant Reformation set the standards for
religious fanaticism. This understanding kept everything quiet in the terrains of the
Holy Roman Empire by conceding every ruler the privilege to decide the religionof
their territory. Every war began as a religious debate yet went ahead to uncover
different motives such, as political power and covetousness. At the point when the
bloodshed started with the Protestants and the Catholics nothing was accomplished

shown interest in the $35,000 worth of products, the original transaction would have
been a debit to revenues and a credit to accounts payable. To adjust this transaction,
since the client has not made a commitment, revenues would decrease the $35,000 as
well as accounts payable being decreased $35,000. For the income statement
adjustment, the revenues would be $35,000 less, resulting in $370,500 in revenues
instead of the $406,000. No adjustment is needed to correct the cost of goods sold.
The ending inventory was determined by a physical count of the inventory. When the
count was done, an adjustment would have been made to the ending inventory
balance, resulting in the $35,000 worth of goods being included in the ending
inventory balance. Even though the total cost of production was used to figure the
cost of goods sold, the $35,000 that needed to be adjusted from the production costs
would be subtracted with the ending inventory. The adjustment adjusted itself in the
computation using the physical inventory count as the ending inventory balance. For

How Does Stockett Present Racism In The Help
The novel, The Help by Kathryn Stockett is an exploration of the ways in which
the main theme of racism and symbols of discrimination pervaded every aspect of
human life within the 1960s. The symbol of the toilets symbolizes all the flaws in
society, specifically in relation to segregation in this era, while sparking Skeeter s
motivation to impact the public eye of race. Bathrooms are one of the most
persistent motifs in the novel as well. This starts with Hilly s Home Help Sanitation
Initiative, which requires all white families to have a second bathroom for the use of
their colored maids. Another symbol includes Minny, being famous for her great
skill at cooking, and in particular, for her delicious pies. The recurring motif of pies

Toilets and bathrooms are used to symbolize all that is wrong with the society
depicted in the novel. They are also there to symbolize the dirtiness of the tactics
used to maintain a racist status quo in the Mississippi community in the 1960s.
Despite the fact that Minny is increasingly well known for her pies, she uses her
baking skills to her advantage in order to get revenge upon Hilly. By doing so
Minny receives a feeling of empowerment against Hilly and successfully proves her
wrong against the claim that all African American individuals carry unique diseases.
It has also been suggested that women might be more of a threat towards black people
than men would be a white man will use violence, but a white woman will ruin
your life. This statement becomes true when Hilly uses negative tools in order to
punish Minny after accusing her of thievery. Aibileen often refers to the bitter seed
that began to grow inside of her after the death of her son Treelore. The seed makes
Aibileen less accepting of the white women who treat her like a lesser human being,
and she often feels the seed growing every time a white woman humiliates or
degrades her. The individuals with privilege in this novel must realize that they are
given an unfair amount of power and should use that power not to maintain their
status quo but to help others who have their voices silenced by society. Although each
one of the help undergo the pretentiousness of the white woman of the South, it is

Rural Beggars In The Ballet Class By Edgar Degas
are going onto the field after the harvest and picking up the leftovers of corn. They
are a type of rural beggars in an old traditional way. At the distance grain stack are
seen piled up and the people who harvested them are bent over exhausted after
harvesting all the crops. Large bundles of grain are visible in the background. In
the foreground the three women are seen working almost in a solitary manner,
collecting the leftovers to feed their families. On close observation it is seen that
they have a white cloth tied around their hips which looks a bit heavy indicating
they have been collecting these leftovers for a while. Yet this amount is very small
compared to the enormous harvest in the background. A man sitting on a horse can
be seen in the background which looks like he is supervising the work done by the
harvesters. He pays no attention to these three women at all. Even though these
women are some kind of beggars they still appear strong and well fed. The colour
used on the women is contrasting to the background. They are bent and hence and

rhythm to the piles of harvest in the background. Millet is trying to convey this harsh

Degas attended the opera and was fascinated by the ballet dancers. He was allowed
backstage by a friend. He studied every movement of the dancers, their body
language, each pause and every expression on their faces. In his painting the dancers
are seen stretching and adjusting their outfits. His fascination was more towards the
rehearsal than the performance on stage. The dancers in his painting are seen playing
with their hair and ribbons giving little attention to their master. They look exhausted

The Rise Of Networked Power
The rise of networked power in the 20th Century information society can be
understood to be driven by communicative power. The shift in instructive to
interactive communication , creates new social and political communities and
consequently requires new and dependable regulation. With the convergence of
varying media platforms there has been a consequent erosion of technical boundaries,
allowing power issues to arise such as how to regulate and to what extent.
Governments often regulate to prevent freedom of speech being abused and regulation
occurs through the exercise of power. Regulation occurs in three ways, either by the
state, market or by cultural norms and expectations. This is important as through this
paper although regulation in Australia is currently judiciary and through the state,
there can be seen a consistent link between the state and market that currently
influence regulation.
Luke s acknowledges the need to identify the powerful in order to fix responsibility
. Currently in Australia as a result of the tangled web of network switching power,
responsibility for errors that occur in the media can result in lack of blame and
difficult to pinpoint who is at fault. Luke s expands on this stating moral
responsibility for decisions made and political responsibility for setting agenda are at
conflict when determining power source. That is the government or market.
Castells construction of meaning is though communication networks that format and

to a system of ideas, cultural, religious beliefs that sway society over they have and
have not s. We come in contact every day with cultural diversity in the workplace,
schools and need to learn to not offend another person based on their cultural group.
Most people assume how a person is based on their appearances and their race.
In today s society, people are closed minded, and do not take the opportunity getting
to know the other person because of stereotyping and racism. Even though we all
have different opinions toward other cultures, norms, beliefs and values we should
all respect each other differences. We should consider learning from one another and
not judge a person based on their race, ethnicity, gender and religion. As a society, it
is very important; we educated ourselves in other cultures, even though we all have
different values and beliefs.
Cultural studies are influenced by the Marxist interpretation of society, but according

in positions of power and the media has exploited the poor keeping them powerless.
Hall says that he describes mass media as the dominance that maintain
Transition From Middle School To High School
Challenges of Transitioning from Middle School to High School Education is not
preparation for life; education is life itself. Said John Dewey, a very successful
philosopher in the 1920 s. To get through life you need education; to get into college,
to get a good job. The most important rules to a successful educationare: focusing on
what is important, not getting involved in drama, and knowing that you aren t
entitled to anything in life. If you stick to this, you ll fly through high school, just as
you did middle school. Rule one: focus on the important things. Right as you get into
high school, things are thrown in your face; notes, homework, quizzes, etc. It is
essential that you are prepared for all of this. High school moves fast... Show more

From now on, you have to earn everything you get. It doesn t get handed to you.
Teachers won t wait, and they will certainly not hold your hand through all of it.
Just because you re popular doesn t mean you ll get into Harvard or Yale. If you

They ll see that you are a trouble maker and you don t commit and then they won t

Western Culture In Relationship To Others Overview Was Columbus a saint or a
sinner? Was his discovery of the New World in 1492 a blessing to us all or, more
importantly, is that curse still with us? Did he bring joy, happiness and progress or
did he light the flame of oppression? Today he is considered responsible, at least to
a great degree, of bringing the Western (then Spanish) culture to the American
continent North and South. So, even now, 500 years after his voyage of discovery
across the Atlantic with a crew of sailors yearning for adventure and riches, the
debate is still going on. Did he do good, or should he have stayed home and never
sailed out from Spain? Did Western (and then Spanish) culture serve a higher

What exactly do we mean when we talk about this cultural dominance ? Here are
some dictionary definitions of culture from various sources: The beliefs, customs,
arts, etc., of a particular society, group, place, or time A particular society that has
its own beliefs, ways of life, art, etc. A way of thinking, behaving, or working that
exists in a place or organization (such as a business) the beliefs, customs, arts, etc.,

particular society, group, place, or time A particular society that has its own
beliefs, ways of life, art, etc. A way of thinking, behaving, or working that exists in
a place or organization (such as a business) In other words, the definition is very
broad and all inclusive and I believe it makes sense to use that wide ranging
approach to what we mean when we talk about culture. Now, are different cultures
as valuable and useful or is Western (American) culture really superior? If so, should
we not impose it and promote it aggressively? Different Perspectives Let me

Teratogens Research Paper
The class discussion and textbook reading highlight some very important topics, such
as the many types of teratogens and how it could really impact the child. We also
discussed how the temperament and how there are three type of infants that the child
could possibly fall into. The attachment of the child towards its caregiver and theory
of moral development was also part of the growing of the child and how they act
towards their surrounding.

We also talked about how two out of three of all infants fall into three different
types of temperament. Based on the three types of temperament I am pleased to say

tell me stories of how peaceful I was as a child and that neighbors and family friends
love me because I am very adaptable toward strangers and always smiling at people.
With that I believe that I am an Easy Baby based on what my parents had told me,
and with the way I interact with people, they wanted one more baby. Then there s
my brother who was very cute as a child but when he was put outside the house and

makes them not wanting to go out the house anymore. My brother is a Difficult

majority of the times the first born child is the trap and parents would want more
of what they see. But it s not always going to be in a pattern of easy baby, then

achieve during his leadership. It also gives historians an idea of the things that
Gorbachev has already achieved when negotiating policies in Moscow when stating

Essay On Charter Schools
Charter Schools On the Rise Charter schools seem to be on the rise in America. With
the recent spike in charter schools across the country, states have begun research on
whether or not to allow the forming of charter schools. Community groups, parents,
and cities all have the power to start a charter school if the respective state allows the
forming of these lucrative schools. These schools have their pros and their cons;
however states must decide whether or not one outweighs the other. Public schools
have set curricula the students take throughout the years, while charter schools can
set their own curricula that the students must take. Other differences between charter
and public schools include district boundaries, the ability to have... Show more

Naomi Calvo and Karen Hawley Miles explain in Turning Crisis into Opportunity ,
an article for Educational Leadership in 2011, take City High, a charter school in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as an example of how charter schools are not having a
negative impact on students and are, in fact, having a positive impact on student
performance. The student population is about half black and half white, 60 percent
are eligible for free or reduced price lunch, and 11 percent receive special education
services (Calvo and Miles). These statistics suggest that students are receiving
excellent grades and are having no problems going to school with a variety of
cultures, as stated by the student population being about half white and half black.
The dramatic percentage of students receiving incentives for their grades is an
extremely strong piece of evidence in support of charter schools and evidence that
states should strongly consider when making laws for or in opposition to charter
schools. Not only does this evidence support the fact that people think that charter
schools have a positive impact on student performance, there is also evidence that
charter schools are not taking funds away from surrounding

things being taught, though he excelled in his English studies. He came to the States

There are many views and ideas of how to define a disciple . Yet how do they stand
up to Jesus example?
Looking up the word disciple in an English or Greek dictionary yields similar
meanings. The English language defines it as, A person who is a pupil or an
adherent to the doctrines of another; follower. (disciple) The Greek simply defines
it as, A learner or pupil. (Strong 45) The most common definition of a disciple is
someone who follows behind or one who is learning from another. While the Bible
does build upon the idea of following and one who learns from another, there is an
additional element to be seen. In Luke 14:25 35 Jesus shares the heart of a
disciple. (Schadt) The first aspect is hating one s family and even their own life.
Without complete devotion to Christ there is not any progress in the Christian
walk. A disciple is one who loves God more than he loves his own flesh. Second, he
must carry his cross and follow Jesus. In the time of the Roman Empire carrying
one s cross visualized one s agreement that the Empire s death sentence was proper
condemnation. In the same way Jesus asks for meek submission in aligning
yourself with His mission and purpose by carrying your cross. (Walvoord, John F.;
Zuck, Roy B.; Dallas Theological Seminary; 243) The last characteristic of a disciple
is giving up everything. Sacrifice of all the heart holds dear. Once again this shows
where the allegiance lays. Is it in the physical securities of possessions or is it in
Why I Choose Honduras
The country I have chosen is Honduras. The reasons that I chose Honduras is
because my wife s family migrated to the U.S. in the 1960 s to find work and give
a better life to their children. Her father has recently moved back to the capital city
of Tegucigalpa and we have been there a few times to visit. Her mother has resided
in New Orleans, La., since arriving in this country. Her uncle, Porfirio Lobo Sosa
was also the President of Honduras from 2010 2014. Some key issues that have
shaped the National Economy of Honduras are government corruption, import/exports
and migration of its citizens. With the unemployment rate sitting above 25% many of
the Honduran people are finding their way to America. Hundreds of thousands of
Hondurans are migrating each year to America. This is crippling the economy

The Road At The Intersection Of S.h
Although driving to and from places is a normal part of many people s daily
routine, it is often forgotten that driving is a dangerous task that demands all
attention of a driver for the safety of the occupants of a vehicle. For our safety,
cities must provide the best roads and intersections to keep driving a safeguarded
activity. As a resident of Tomball and a driver on the roads, I have noticed that the
feeder roadat the intersection of S.H. 249 and F.M. 2920 located next to Lowe s
and Chase Bank has caused big issues for drivers. Ever since S.H. 249 became a
toll road, many Tomball residents have avoided paying high fees for driving short
distances by taking this service road. This has caused much more traffic, especially,
during rush hour around this area. Many businesses such as Ross, Target, Academy,
and Chick Fil A are located here, and are contributing factors to the congestion. I
myself have had a few close calls at this intersection. However, the issue did not
become apparent to me until my best friend was in an accident at this intersection.
Fortunately, she walked away from the accident unharmed, but her brand new car was
totalled. Losing anyone at this intersection would be devastating for myself and my
community.
S.H. 249 South is the main problem, it often gets backed up past the entire Lowe s
parking lot. This road consists of three lanes: the far left lane being a turn only lane,
the middle lane being a lane that turns left and goes straight, and the far

American history forever. Thousands of people died, including the Frank family.
Anne Frank once said, In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at

, but I agree with Anne, people are still good at heart. Reading this book, I noticed
that there are a lot of kind hearted actions in this book. I am agreeing with Anne and

will always be good at heart. No matter what, people can bounce back and prove
their kindness, that is why I still side with
The Theoretical Frameworks Governing The Field Of...
Integral to the theoretical frameworks governing the field of Counseling Psychology
are theories emerging from several schools of thought including Psychoanalytic,
Adlerian, Existential, Person centered, Gestalt, Behavior, Cognitive behavior, Reality
and Family systems. I will discuss and supplement the aforementioned therapy
derived from theoretical foundations in the succeeding sections with the assistance of
a class handout issued by Dr. Didi Firman for the course Counseling Theory and
Practice and with excepts from scholarly assignments and annotations completed.
Within the developmental framework are theories postulated by Freud and Erikson.
Freud s Psychoanalytic therapy basic philosophies purport that human beings are
basically determined by psychic energy and by early experiences. The aim of
Psychoanalytic therapy is to make the unconscious conscious to assist clients in
reconstructing their basic personality. Likewise, Erikson s Psychosocial theory is a
comprehensive lifelong approach (from birth till death) comprised of eight stages
each having a different conflict to overcome. Equally, with Existential therapy, the
main focus is on the nature of the human condition which includes a capacity for self
awareness, freedom of choice, responsibility, anxiety, and the search for meaning.
Contrarily, Adlerian therapy is based on the premise that humans are motivated by
social interest, by striving toward goals, and by dealing with the tasks of life.
Adlerian therapy is

Discrimination related to the employment in the businesses is one of the major

workplace can be defined as the imbalanced or unequal treatment with employees
based on biases. This biasness may be based on age, sex, race, ethnicity, nation,

Discrimination affects adversely to the organization due to the increased number of
turnover and low productivity. It also harms the reputation of the organization. When
employees are being treated differently on particular bases, then they lose their focus
on the work and there is wastage of time and resources.
Although the practice of discrimination is unlawful by the Civil Rights Act of 1964
and it is forbidden to discriminate on the basis of color, religion, sex and race, still it
is being practiced in the US on the very large scale.Highest numbers of discrimination
in workplaces were recorded in US in recent age, according to the results of US Equal
Employment Opportunity Commission (Triana, Maria). This commission explores
about the issues of discrimination and settles the matters by negotiating with parties
and giving compensation to the employees, who are being discriminated. The
compensation is may be in the form of promotions, cash payments or by providing
the better employment opportunities.
Workplace discrimination is not only ethically wrong but it also causes great
expenses to the employer. It may result in the high rate of turnover, low commitment,
productivity and sometimes
Persuasive Essay On Identity Theft

identity thieves try to obtain are names, addresses, date of birth, social security

Once your identity has been stolen thieves can open new credit cards. They can
even change your mailing address. Once they have your personal information they
can take out loans in your name. They have the ability to take all your money from
your banking account. Did you know they could even file bankruptcy using your
personal information? Worst of all they could even use your name if they are caught
committing a crime. While you are not the one doing anything wrong, you will be
the one spending valuable hours even years trying to repair your credit. Several
ways thieves can steal your personal information include skimming, dumpster diving,
computer spyware, account redirection, phishing, pharming, and stealing . With
skimming thieves have figured out a way to place a card reader in the card slider at
places like your ATM machine or even at the pump when you are filling your tank
with gas. It works by recording your information when you get your money out of
your account or reads all the information from the chip that holds all your personal
information. Dumpster diving is when thieves rummage through your garbage for

important connections between such men as Marlborough, Chesterfield, Walpole,
and North, and the social forces that they harnessed to get their jobs done. Lord
Chesterfield, for example, is presented as the epitome of the eighteenth century
Gentleman; his letters of advice to his son Philip provide a standard by which
Willcox introduces the world of manners and form that provide the background for
the rest of the book. What Chesterfield saw was there, says Willcox, the love of
form and style and the surface of life (51). Most of these miniature portraits are very
effective: Robert Walpole has an entire chapter devoted to his era, and he provides a
stable center through which to understand the dizzying political problems of dealing
with Hanoverian succession, the creation of British financial empires such as the
Bank of England and the South Sea Company, and the intricate relationships between
peace, foreign diplomacy, and their effect on British business interests. Two different

Alpha Phi Personal Ceremony
What are your commitments for this school year?
This school year I am employed at the Jundt Art Museum where I work between 6
to 10 hours a week during the school day and weekends. In addition, I am a Campus
Kids mentor. I spend time every week with a student in the 5th grade doing activities
ranging from school visits, games, and tutoring. This semester I plan to become more
involved with the club Mans Best Friend and volunteer at the local animal shelter.
Have you held any leadership positions before? If so what are they? Please list what
organization/team you held the position for too!
During high school i participated in many extra circulars, but I never took on any
leadership rolls because of social anxiety. Coming to Gonzaga my goal ... Show more

I have always wanted to join a sorority and although I love Gonzaga and I am very
happy with my decision I felt like I was missing out. I am drawn to Alpha Pi Phi
specifically because of the strong focus on sisterhood. In addition, as I got to know
members of Alpha Pi Phi I enjoyed the fact that all of the girls are very unique and
each bring their own unique qualities to create one united sisterhood.
What are some stereotypes you ve heard about Greek life and what would you do to
challenge them?
Stereotypes that I have heard about Greek Life include that it is just about partying
and the members are fake or catty. To challenge this stereotype I would lead by
example to prove to others that Greek Life does not focus on partying, but in fact
focuses on forming friendships, learning, and helping others. By showing others
that those in Greek Life are more focused on school and philanthropy it can have
an affect on changing this stereotype for many Greek organizations. There is also a
very common stereotype that girls in sororities are catty or fake. To challenge this
stereotype at Gonzaga I would show other students that members of Alpha Pi Phi are
dedicated to forming a strong sisterhood that values uniqueness and diversity.
Valuing others for who they are conveys the message that there is no need to be fake
because you are accepted for your
Why Is Lillie Flexible
Flexibility Have you seen anybody more flexible then a baby? Well things are
about to change. You should know that Lillie is very flexible. Lillie is
homeschooled and that might make you think that she doesn t have very many
friends but she actually has a lot. To start out with, as you know Lillie was
REALLY flexible. She has done gymnastics for a very longtime, she has done dance
for a little bit but not much. As a baby she was more flexible than any other
ordinary baby. She was the most flexible human being in the world. She also had a
little sister named Emma. Emma was younger by 2 years. She was into gymnastics
as well. Therefore, Lillie had to practice A LOT. Which means she had to be
homeschooled and that she didn t have that
Questions On Annoying Behavior And Negativity
Chapter 4
How to Handle Annoying Behavior and Negativity
How to Talk to Workers about Annoying Behavior
Some conversations can be quite difficult. Like how do you tell your coworker that
his halitosis is ruining your creative vibe? How do you tell someone that their way
of getting stuff done is cramping your style? Fortunately, there are ways to address
annoying behavior without being offensive. At the same time, the following
approaches can help you gain your fellow workers cooperation.
вћўBegin softly. Set your coworker at ease but at the same time, go directly to the
point. Once you ve told your colleague or your employee that you want to discuss
something with him, don t prolong his anxiety and move right to the challenging part.
вћў ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That said, in order to minimize the occurrence of undesirable behavior, managers
should make it a point to conduct seminars and activities that will orient new
employees about what is expected of them in the workplace.
вћўRemember that each person hails from different cultural backgrounds. This affects
their manner of dressing, their personal hygiene, and even their general behavior.
While you should maintain respect for diversity and individuality, you should also
make it clear to workers that they must learn to embrace the cultural standards of the
organization. There is no reason why cultural differences should affect productivity in
the workplace or cause discord among workers.
вћўLastly, if you are the worker s manager, then you definitely owe it to the person
to initiate the conversation, no matter how challenging it is. You should explain to
the employee in a factual manner how his behavior can affect his career in a
negative way. If you don t talk to him about it, someone else will and they may not
be as sensitive or as tactful as you.
How to Deal with Negative People at Work
There are two types of negative coworkers. These are the occasionally negative
thinkers and the perpetually negative thinkers. Some people have a tendency to
complain because of current work conditions which they deem as unfavorable.
Meanwhile, some people just seem to have pessimism naturally oozing out of their
pores. Their negativism
Descriptive Essay About Swimming
GO! My coach s booming voice rings in my ears as I dive off the starting block.
This is my 3rd 100 meter sprint, but it feels like number 50. The water feels
especially heavy. Even though I m breathing way too often, my lungs are gasping for
air. I silently beg myself to kick faster, but then suddenly I am stopped. The rhythm of
swimminghas been interrupted. Another swimmer is in front of me, going slower
than I would like. The splashes from her kicks blind me, and the swirling water
makes it even harder to breath. I tap her feet once, twice, three times in the span of a
few seconds. We are soon approaching the wall. I prepare to stop, thinking that she,
like everyone else, will pause at the wall and let me go by. Instead, she flip turns
and launches herself off the wall into another 50. I sigh, pause at the wall for a few
seconds, launch off the wall yet again, only to be greeted by the familiar obstacle a
few meters later.
This is what goes on almost every day at swim practice. Swimmers have an
unspoken, sometimes spoken, rule that if someone touches your feet, you stop at
the wall and let them go by. This rule keeps us working together like an orchestra,
and our practices efficient like a highway. However, sometimes swimmers refuse
to do this. I have been the perpetrator of this misdemeanor. Everyone on the team
has been. However, some swimmers commit this crime more often than others,
and it gets extremely frustrating. My self control is put to the test because I feel
the need to scream and swim right over her. I can t, however, because we are a
team and must work together. I am a caged lion. The type of set has a lot to do
with my reaction. If we are doing a long set without intervals, I can deal with the
shenanigans. My body is a calm lullaby. If it is a fast, high intensity, interval set,
then I start steaming like a teapot. The reason for that is I am already stressed
because I am trying to make an interval time. When people are in my way and
refuse to move, I feel even more stressed because I get even farther behind the clock.
The other big factor is when the swimmer is aware of the situation. One prime
example of this took place on a crisp autumn day in September, 2017. Although I had
already
The Decision Making Is Defined As A Cognitive Process
Forum 2: Original post Decision Making In life individuals are faced with a
continuous flow of decisions to be made and problems to be solved. Decision
making is defined as a cognitive process in which a choice is developed regarding
a belief or course of action from among two or more alternatives (Robbins Judge,
2009). Individuals compose decisions as a reaction to a problem, a perceived
deviation linking the present condition and a desired condition (Robbins, 2009).
For example, in the radiation oncology field, multiple devices are used to make
treatments more accurate, reproducible, and elevate patient comfort. These devices
are used frequently so they quickly become worn. They must be checked
periodically to ensure structural stability and compliance with infectious control
regulations. Employees are given the task of examining the devices, making
decisions regarding the condition of the devices, and reporting what needs to be
replaced. Managers and employees must keep in mind that incessant replacement of
these devices is costly and can cause interruptions in patient care. Managers and
employees should compose optimal decisions regarding the care and replacement of
such devices in order to be effective, efficient, and productive. Rational Decision
Making Model One process discussed in organizational behavior for decision making
is the Rational Decision Making Model. This model employs six steps for decision
making: 1.Interpret the problem. 2.Determine the decision
Patricia Hill Collins Oppression
Many subjects have come across during class analyzing how food justice relates to
race, class, and sustainability. Some of the topics brought up connected with my
core beliefs and made me think about them more in depth. Some arguments taught
me about things that I didn t know about before and has opened my eyes to more
beliefs I didn t know I had. One of the core beliefs I have is all people are equal in a
social, political, and economic way. I don t believe in one group s oppression being
more important than the other, Patricia Hill Collins article goes more into this
concept. Another issue her article touches on that supports my beliefs and has made
me see there is more to it is that our past affects our personal background immensely.
Lastly,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It has also helped me appreciate the privileges I have been given as a white woman
in the working class. Growing up I would always think, What if I was richer, my
life would be so much easier. Being as how I was pretty young I was oblivious to
how other races were struggling more than I with many different things. I didn t
know racism, living below the poverty line, food desserts, etc. were. But even
when I was older and knew about those things I never thought, What if I was a
different race? What if I was even poorer than I am now? If these thoughts had
actually happened, I would be a completely different person than I am now. You
don t always think about if your life was worse, you tend to think about if your life
was better. I know I m guilty of that. Even though I know my background has
affected me I never thought about the huge difference in between my personality
now and my personality if my life wasn t as tough or if it was tougher. Each of us
must come to terms with the multiple ways in which race, class, and gender as
categories of analysis frame our individual biographies (242). This quote embodies
what I ve been explaining or trying to explain in this paragraph. It also helped me
understand that not only do I have to take into account past events that have
happened, I also have to take into account that my race, class, and gender has affected

My Hero Essay.pdf

  • 1. My Hero Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of "My Hero" may initially seem like a straightforward task, as it revolves around a personal narrative and the admiration one holds for a significant figure in their life. However, delving into the intricacies of such a theme can prove to be a challenging endeavor. The difficulty lies not in the shortage of content but rather in the abundance of emotions and experiences that need to be encapsulated within the confines of an essay. The first hurdle is the deeply personal nature of the subject matter. Unraveling the layers of emotions and memories associated with a hero requires introspection and self-reflection, often leading to a rollercoaster of sentiments. Translating these feelings into coherent and engaging prose demands a delicate balance between sincerity and storytelling prowess. Moreover, the challenge extends to avoiding clichГ©s and generic expressions that may dilute the uniqueness of the hero's impact. It's not just about narrating the hero's actions but also about capturing the essence of their character and the profound influence they have had on the writer's life. This necessitates a meticulous choice of words and a thoughtful exploration of specific instances that showcase the hero's qualities. Another complexity arises in striking the right tone – one that conveys admiration without veering into idolatry and authenticity without descending into sentimentality. Balancing the emotional connection with the hero and maintaining a critical perspective is crucial to ensure that the essay resonates with readers on a deeper level. The process of crafting a "My Hero" essay also involves grappling with the challenge of structure. Arranging memories and anecdotes in a logical sequence while maintaining a coherent narrative flow demands careful planning and organization. The essay should unfold naturally, guiding the reader through a journey of discovery and appreciation. In conclusion, writing a compelling essay on the topic of "My Hero" is no simple task. It requires a writer to navigate the complexities of personal emotions, avoid common pitfalls, strike the right emotional tone, and organize the content in a cohesive manner. However, overcoming these challenges can result in a powerful and resonant piece that not only honors the hero but also invites readers to reflect on their own sources of inspiration. For those seeking assistance with essays or any other writing tasks, various resources are available, including professional writing services. Report on Business Culture in Saudi Arabia Report on Business Culture in Saudi Arabia Executive summary: With the globalization of world business, Saudi Arabia has become an appealing market for foreign investors. But there has long been belief that the market of Saudi Arabia is difficult to develop and the culture there is inconsistent with the world. The problem of cross cultural management arises as the cooperation between Saudi Arabia and its world partners continue to increase at an unprecedented rate. Culture is the collective programming of the mind which distinguishes the members of one category of people from another. (Hofstede, 1991) There are four cultural dimensions that were defined in Hofstede s research: Power distance, Uncertainty avoidance, Individualism, Masculinity, and recently Hofstede add one more: long term short term orientation. In this part of paper, comparison between Singapore and Saudi Arabia will be discussed, by focusing Hofstede s cultural dimensions as a point of reference 2.1 The dimension of individualism collectivism We know that there is a diverse population in Singapore, consisting mainly of Chinese, Malay and Indians, all of which does not possess one single dominant national identity. Neglecting of religion may cause troubles in business activities. In Islam canon, the most important are: religious service, almsgiving, fasting and pilgrimage and other activities. • 3. What Was The Expansion Of Westward Expansion During the 1800s, the United States institutionalized the concept of expansionism throughout its states. This long term event is known as the westward expansion, a time when the United States government deemed it necessary to increase the agricultural use of land, as well as to create a transcontinental railroad that connected Eastern states with Western states. This, however exceedingly great, resulted in the systematic destruction of Native American land, practices, and beliefs. Decimation of these things was generated through the policies implemented by the United States, as the policies attempted to assimilate Native Americans. Native Americans were viewed as an obstacle for the construction, as well as the expansion of the west, thus the United States devised policies that would ultimately set forth the dismantling of Native American territories. First and foremost, the Dawes Act, enacted in 1887, advocated for the separation and disjointing of Native American territories, in favor of putting the Natives on reservations. In the act, it proclaims that ...where any tribe or band of Indians have been, or shall hereafter be, located [placed] upon any reservation created for their use... (Dawes Act). Illustrating that a policy, implemented by the United States, specifically targeted Native Americans land by fractionalizing their territories into smaller, more controllable areas known as reservations. Similarly, the Indian Removal Act of 1830 suggested the literal

  • 5. The Tragedy Of Euripides Medea Euripides Medea is considered, according to Aristotle s Poetics, a tragedy. The play centers on Medea, an outsider and wife to Jason, who seeks to punish Jason for taking another wife. The play is considered a tragedy because it contains the three unities as well as the six elements of drama mentioned by Aristotle. Despite the fact that the does the play fits the criteria of what Aristotle considers tragedy, however, Medea is actually not a tragedy but tells the story about a successful revenge. In the Poetics, Aristotle has established a criteria consisting of four requirements that character must have to be considered the tragic hero. Medea, however, is not a tragic character because she does not possess two of the four requirements: goodness and correctness. Aristotle s first requirement of goodness states: The persons wit[ have character ifin the way previousty stated their speech or their action reveals the moraI quality of some choice, and good character if a good choice (Aristotle 130). Having a good character will allow provoke pity and fear in a tragedy. Medea however does not possess the good quality. She does not express it through the course of the play in her actions. In the opening of the play, the nurse makes it known that she wished that the Argo never had set sail (1) which indicates the idea that the only time Medea was possibly good is before Jason set sail to seek the golden pelt for Pelias (6 7). Medea fell in love with him and because of it
  • 6. Us Gaap Vs. Ifrs There are vast and numerous differences between US GAAP and IFRS. The biggest conceptual difference between US GAAP and IFRS is that US GAAP is rule based while IFRS is principle based. Because of this, there are numerous accounting topics that are handled differently between US GAAP and IFRS. It is argued that IFRS fits the actual economics of business transactions more than US GAAP, as IFRS looks more at the substance of transactions. US GAAP, on the other hand, is more concerned with having exact rules to deal with accounting situations. Both the United States and the over 110 countries that use IFRS are working towards a global accounting standard; however, due to the cost and complexity of this process, convergence of US GAAP and IFRS may take years or even decades longer than expected, if indeed they are ever fully converged. Some key areas in which the two systems differ are inventoryvaluation, classification of leases, revenue recognition including the construction industry, the handling of intangibles including research and development, depreciationmethods, and business combinations. While there are many other differences in US GAAP and IFRS, this paper is limited in scope to those listed above. In the accounting world, there are many different ways to track and value inventory. Commonly used methods in US GAAP include FIFO, LIFO, Specific ID, and Weighed Average. This allows companies a great deal of flexibility on how their inventory appears on the

John Green was very much influenced by J.D. It s interesting that Miles seems to personify Alaska throughout the rest of the book after she s dead, much like Holden does in The Catcher in the Rye. Although the reader never meets Holden s little brother, Allie Caulfield, we sure do hear a lot about him throughout the book. He died of leukemia on July 18, 1946, when he was eleven and Holden was thirteen. He describes the dark memory to the reader by saying, I was only thirteen, and they were going to have me psychoanalyzed and all, because I broke all the goddam windows in the garage. I don t blame them. I really don t. I slept in the garage the night he died, and I broke all the goddam windows with my fist just for the hell of it. (The Catcher in the Rye, p. 50). It s clear that Holden and Miles have in common that they can t just move on when dealing with a death, but they have to heal and take their time to work it out. Holden and Miles both individually deal with isolation in their respective circumstances, Miles experiences it post Alaska Young s sudden death, and Holden goes through it merely being on his own. To adjust this transaction, since the client has not made a commitment, revenues would decrease the $35,000 as well as accounts payable being decreased $35,000. For the income statement adjustment, the revenues would be $35,000 less, resulting in $370,500 in revenues instead of the $406,000. No adjustment is needed to correct the cost of goods sold. The ending inventory was determined by a physical count of the inventory. The shift in instructive to interactive communication , creates new social and political communities and consequently requires new and dependable regulation. With the convergence of varying media platforms there has been a consequent erosion of technical boundaries, allowing power issues to arise such as how to regulate and to what extent. Governments often regulate to prevent freedom of speech being abused and regulation occurs through the exercise of power. Regulation occurs in three ways, either by the state, market or by cultural norms and expectations. This is important as through this paper although regulation in Australia is currently judiciary and through the state, there can be seen a consistent link between the state and market that currently influence regulation. Community groups, parents, and cities all have the power to start a charter school if the respective state allows the forming of these lucrative schools. These schools have their pros and their cons; however states must decide whether or not one outweighs the other. Public schools have set curricula the students take throughout the years, while charter schools can set their own curricula that the students must take. Other differences between charter and public schools include district boundaries, the ability to have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Naomi Calvo and Karen Hawley Miles explain in Turning Crisis into Opportunity , an article for Educational Leadership in 2011, take City High, a charter school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as an example of how charter schools are not having a negative impact on students and are, in fact, having a positive impact on student performance. The student population is about half black and half white, 60 percent are eligible for free or reduced price lunch, and 11 percent receive special education services (Calvo and Miles). These statistics suggest that students are receiving excellent grades and are having no problems going to school with a variety of cultures, as stated by the student population being about half white and half black. The dramatic percentage of students receiving incentives for their grades is an extremely strong piece of evidence in support of charter schools and evidence that states should strongly consider when making laws for or in opposition to charter schools. Not only does this evidence support the fact that people think that charter schools have a positive impact on student performance, there is also evidence that charter schools are not taking funds away from surrounding
  • 27. Essay on Analysis of Ministry Leaders’ Approaches to... A young international student walked onto a secular Florida college campus ready to start his medical studies. Being an international student meant he had to take an English class. Little did he know a required English class would change the purpose of his life. The teacher of that class was committed to discipleship as defined and shown in the Bible. Having permission to use the Bible as the textbook the teacher taught his students the Word of God. The student did not immediately respond to the things being taught, though he excelled in his English studies. He came to the States with the purpose of learning English and medicine. There are many views and ideas of how to define a disciple . Yet how do they stand up to Jesus example? Looking up the word disciple in an English or Greek dictionary yields similar meanings. The English language defines it as, A person who is a pupil or an adherent to the doctrines of another; follower. (disciple) The Greek simply defines it as, A learner or pupil. (Strong 45) The most common definition of a disciple is someone who follows behind or one who is learning from another. While the Bible does build upon the idea of following and one who learns from another, there is an additional element to be seen. In Luke 14:25 35 Jesus shares the heart of a disciple. (Schadt) The first aspect is hating one s family and even their own life. Without complete devotion to Christ there is not any progress in the Christian walk. A disciple is one who loves God more than he loves his own flesh. Second, he must carry his cross and follow Jesus. In the time of the Roman Empire carrying one s cross visualized one s agreement that the Empire s death sentence was proper condemnation. In the same way Jesus asks for meek submission in aligning yourself with His mission and purpose by carrying your cross. (Walvoord, John F.; Zuck, Roy B.; Dallas Theological Seminary; 243) The last characteristic of a disciple is giving up everything. Sacrifice of all the heart holds dear. Once again this shows where the allegiance lays. Is it in the physical securities of possessions or is it in

The Road At The Intersection Of S.h Although driving to and from places is a normal part of many people s daily routine, it is often forgotten that driving is a dangerous task that demands all attention of a driver for the safety of the occupants of a vehicle. For our safety, cities must provide the best roads and intersections to keep driving a safeguarded activity. As a resident of Tomball and a driver on the roads, I have noticed that the feeder roadat the intersection of S.H. 249 and F.M. 2920 located next to Lowe s and Chase Bank has caused big issues for drivers. Ever since S.H. 249 became a toll road, many Tomball residents have avoided paying high fees for driving short distances by taking this service road. This has caused much more traffic, especially, during rush hour around this area. Many businesses such as Ross, Target, Academy, and Chick Fil A are located here, and are contributing factors to the congestion. I myself have had a few close calls at this intersection. However, the issue did not become apparent to me until my best friend was in an accident at this intersection. Fortunately, she walked away from the accident unharmed, but her brand new car was totalled. Losing anyone at this intersection would be devastating for myself and my community. S.H. 249 South is the main problem, it often gets backed up past the entire Lowe s parking lot. Integral to the theoretical frameworks governing the field of Counseling Psychology are theories emerging from several schools of thought including Psychoanalytic, Adlerian, Existential, Person centered, Gestalt, Behavior, Cognitive behavior, Reality and Family systems. I will discuss and supplement the aforementioned therapy derived from theoretical foundations in the succeeding sections with the assistance of a class handout issued by Dr. Didi Firman for the course Counseling Theory and Practice and with excepts from scholarly assignments and annotations completed. Within the developmental framework are theories postulated by Freud and Erikson. Freud s Psychoanalytic therapy basic philosophies purport that human beings are basically determined by psychic energy and by early experiences. The aim of Psychoanalytic therapy is to make the unconscious conscious to assist clients in reconstructing their basic personality. Likewise, Erikson s Psychosocial theory is a comprehensive lifelong approach (from birth till death) comprised of eight stages each having a different conflict to overcome. Equally, with Existential therapy, the main focus is on the nature of the human condition which includes a capacity for self awareness, freedom of choice, responsibility, anxiety, and the search for meaning. Contrarily, Adlerian therapy is based on the premise that humans are motivated by social interest, by striving toward goals, and by dealing with the tasks of life. Adlerian therapy is

Lord Chesterfield, for example, is presented as the epitome of the eighteenth century Gentleman; his letters of advice to his son Philip provide a standard by which Willcox introduces the world of manners and form that provide the background for the rest of the book. • 44. Descriptive Essay About Swimming GO! My coach s booming voice rings in my ears as I dive off the starting block. This is my 3rd 100 meter sprint, but it feels like number 50. The water feels especially heavy. Even though I m breathing way too often, my lungs are gasping for air. I silently beg myself to kick faster, but then suddenly I am stopped. The rhythm of swimminghas been interrupted. Another swimmer is in front of me, going slower than I would like. The splashes from her kicks blind me, and the swirling water makes it even harder to breath. I tap her feet once, twice, three times in the span of a few seconds. We are soon approaching the wall. I prepare to stop, thinking that she, like everyone else, will pause at the wall and let me go by. Instead, she flip turns and launches herself off the wall into another 50. I sigh, pause at the wall for a few seconds, launch off the wall yet again, only to be greeted by the familiar obstacle a few meters later. This is what goes on almost every day at swim practice. Swimmers have an unspoken, sometimes spoken, rule that if someone touches your feet, you stop at the wall and let them go by. This rule keeps us working together like an orchestra, and our practices efficient like a highway. However, sometimes swimmers refuse to do this. I have been the perpetrator of this misdemeanor. Everyone on the team has been. However, some swimmers commit this crime more often than others, and it gets extremely frustrating. My self control is put to the test because I feel the need to scream and swim right over her. I can t, however, because we are a team and must work together. I am a caged lion. The type of set has a lot to do with my reaction. If we are doing a long set without intervals, I can deal with the shenanigans. My body is a calm lullaby. If it is a fast, high intensity, interval set, then I start steaming like a teapot. The reason for that is I am already stressed because I am trying to make an interval time. When people are in my way and refuse to move, I feel even more stressed because I get even farther behind the clock. The other big factor is when the swimmer is aware of the situation. One prime example of this took place on a crisp autumn day in September, 2017. Although I had already
  • 45. The Decision Making Is Defined As A Cognitive Process Forum 2: Original post Decision Making In life individuals are faced with a continuous flow of decisions to be made and problems to be solved. Decision making is defined as a cognitive process in which a choice is developed regarding a belief or course of action from among two or more alternatives (Robbins Judge, 2009). Individuals compose decisions as a reaction to a problem, a perceived deviation linking the present condition and a desired condition (Robbins, 2009). For example, in the radiation oncology field, multiple devices are used to make treatments more accurate, reproducible, and elevate patient comfort. These devices are used frequently so they quickly become worn. They must be checked periodically to ensure structural stability and compliance with infectious control regulations. Employees are given the task of examining the devices, making decisions regarding the condition of the devices, and reporting what needs to be replaced. Managers and employees must keep in mind that incessant replacement of these devices is costly and can cause interruptions in patient care. Managers and employees should compose optimal decisions regarding the care and replacement of such devices in order to be effective, efficient, and productive. Rational Decision Making Model One process discussed in organizational behavior for decision making is the Rational Decision Making Model. This model employs six steps for decision making: 1.Interpret the problem. 2.Determine the decision
