United Nations Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of the United Nations poses a considerable challenge. Firstly,
the United Nations is a multifaceted organization, encompassing a wide array of functions,
objectives, and historical contexts. This necessitates comprehensive research to grasp its intricate
structure, its role in global affairs, its successes, failures, and ongoing challenges.
Moreover, the topic demands a nuanced understanding of international relations, diplomacy,
peacekeeping efforts, humanitarian aid, sustainable development goals, and human rights issues,
among others. Analyzing these aspects requires not only a broad knowledge base but also critical
thinking skills to assess the UN's effectiveness in addressing global issues and its impact on
geopolitics.
Furthermore, the United Nations has a complex institutional framework involving various
specialized agencies, programs, and bodies, each with its own mandate and operational
mechanisms. Synthesizing information from diverse sources and presenting a coherent narrative
can be daunting.
Additionally, discussing the United Nations necessitates an examination of its historical
evolution, including key milestones, pivotal moments, and shifts in global power dynamics.
Contextualizing its actions within the broader historical, political, and socio-economic contexts
adds another layer of complexity to the essay.
Lastly, addressing the significance of the United Nations in the contemporary world requires
grappling with ongoing debates and criticisms surrounding its relevance, efficiency, and reform
efforts. Balancing differing perspectives while presenting a well-reasoned argument requires
careful deliberation and scholarly rigor.
In summary, composing an essay on the United Nations demands extensive research, critical
analysis, and a nuanced understanding of global politics and international relations. It is a task
that requires diligence, intellectual acumen, and a commitment to exploring the complexities of
this influential international organization.

Shoulder Pain Research Paper
Shoulder pain
Shoulder joint is a ball and socket joint between the shoulder blade and upper arm. It
is the most mobile joint of the body. There is capsule which is two layers of
members surrounding the joint. Around the capsule, there are some bursae small
fluid filled sacs to assist the mobility. The shoulder joint is a muscle dependent joint
because it lacks strong ligaments.
Muscles surrounding the shoulder joint

It tends to be vulnerable to injury. If this happens, the most common symptom is pain
on the shoulder with or without limited movement. Shoulder pain is very common:
about 3 in 10 adults are affected at some time in the lifetime.
Frozen shoulder is characterised as pain and stiffness of the shoulder. It is most
common in middle aged and older people. Due to pain and limitation of the shoulder
movement, it is difficult to carry out everyday activity such as dressing and bathing
etc. It also can disturb sleep. The symptoms tend to be persistent and get worse
gradually if it is left untreated. In severe cases, the shoulder may not be moved at all.
This is caused by inflamed capsule surrounded the shoulder joint. The inflamed
capsule becomes swollen, thickened and tightened. The inflammation makes the
muscles surrounding the shoulder spasm. This makes the shoulder painful and stiff.
Though this is a common condition, the treatment remains challenging.
Physiotherapy and corticosteroid injections are commonly used to treat frozen
shoulder. Acupuncture with therapeutic exercises is moderately recommended for
pain relief, improving range of movement and function and it is commonly used to
treat frozen shoulder in China and it becomes a popular treatment
The Rise Of The Chinese Revolution
Let her sleep, for when she wakes she will shake the world. This statement was once
said by Napoleon Bonaparte, a French military and political leader, indicating that
China was a resting giant. During the past decades, China had lacked development on
some aspects such as governance and it seemed that its movement were backwards.
Corruptions, injustices, lack of efficiency and productivity; these are the objects and
reasons that hindered Chinafrom growing and being united. There had been an
abundant number of revolts, wars and uprisings that took place in China during its
revolution years and the product of these can be classified as positive or negative
outcome depending on one s point of view. The Chinese revolutionaries made a
gigantic impact on their history and they have proven that the power of the people is
stronger than the people in power. This paper presents an overview of the
circumstances after the revolution took place, the abolishment of the imperial China,
the rise of the Republic and the conflict between the Nationalist and Communist Party.
The main discussion of the topics will be started by a brief discussion during the late
Qing dynasty. The revolutionaries, led by Sun Yatsen and Huang xing revolted
against the Qing due to the endless corruption and its efficiency as an empire. One of
the uprising was the Wuchang Uprising, it took place on 10 October 1911 in Hubei
province. The southern provinces subsequently declared their independence from the

Difference Between Code Switching And Code Switching
Retrospective analysis towards code switching and code mixing in formal English
classrooms and its implication towards language learning.
Introduction
Since before the country independence, English was made compulsory in all schools
in Malaysia except vernacular schools such as Malay, Chinese and Tamil medium
school (Foo, 2004). But with the implementation of the Language Act 1967, the
status of the English language was replaced by Bahasa Melayu. Nonetheless, English
is still widely used by the government and other private institution in Malaysia. Even
every government official documents and reports will be printed out in Bahasa
Malaysia as well as English (Omar, 1982). This change in Language Act 1967

There several positive views of using code switch and code mix in the classroom.
One of the positive views is that it helps the learner to draw from their experience in
first language when learning English (Hornberger, 2005). In other words, the
learners English learning experience will be more meaningful when the students are
allowed to use their first language experience (Hornberger, 2005). This is further
supported by (Amin, 2009) who said that the use of code switch and code mix will
enable the students to use their first language when learning

The moral quandary in Merck and the waterway visual deficiency was whether the
organization should seek after the examination which may bring about benefit, or
pick the more secure choice, that was going for the benefit as opposed to inquiring
about the medication. The medication was considered to cure the destructive and
impeding ailment called the stream visual deficiency that were situated in
territories of the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Leaders of the
organization had issues about the exploration that was being led. The issue was that
the patients couldn t bear the cost of it, essentially in light of the territory the
medications were waiting to be controlled. This implied no benefit for the
organization. Taking a gander at Merck s site, the organization uncovers its
incentive as: Our center esteems are driven by a yearning to enhance life,
accomplish logical magnificence, work with the most elevated norms of honesty,
grow access to our items and utilize a differing workforce that esteems cooperation.
Improving people groups general life is the principle objective of the organization
not simply profiting. It could be a troublesome choice for Merck to choose on the off
chance that it needed to contribute on the examination on account of the
exceptionally focused market, and the dread of disappointment. Be that as it may,
from what the organization has as its center esteem, it should go for the production of
the medication in spite of the absence of benefit.

Warm Vitality Experiment
All components in the intermittent table can happen as a strong, a fluid, or a gas.
The contrast in the middle of solids and fluids and fluids and gasses depends on the
measure of warm vitality and the quality of intermolecular powers. An investigation
was led to watch the impacts of adding warm vitality to a strong state through
warming a water test to bubble.
Impacts of Thermal Energy
All components in the intermittent table can happen in 3 distinct states. These
components can be shaped as a strong, fluid, and gas. A strong is brought about by
a solid fascination between the particles in which it is made out of. A fluid is
made out of atoms that have an adequate sub atomic fascination yet aren t as firmly
stuffed as a strong. In the gas express, the atoms are generally scattered and moving
openly. The distinction in the middle of solids and fluids and fluids and gasses
depends on the measure of warm vitality and the quality of intermolecular powers.

Soldier s Home by Ernest Hemingway Essay
Soldier s Home by Ernest Hemingway
In Soldier s Home, Ernest Hemingway depicts Harold Krebs return home from
World War I and the problems he faces when dealing with his homecoming and
transition back towards a normal life. After the fighting overseas commenced, it
took Krebs a year to finally leave Europe and return to his family in Oklahoma.
Once home, he found it hard to talk about all he had seen in his tour of duty
overseas, which should be attributed to the fact that he saw action in some of the
bloodiest, most crucial battles towards the culmination of the war. Therefore, Krebs
difficulty in acknowledging his past is because he was indeed a good soldier (139),
whose efforts in order to survive The Great War, were not... Show more content on

This is why he could not love anymore; the mere thought of it nauseated him. He
could not assimilate back into living a regular life with the thoughts of regular
men. In seeing so much that should be out of the ordinary, he never wanted to deal
with common human issues again, not to mention consequences. Krebs
relationship with his sister is probably his best with anyone in the house. This is
most likely due to the fact that she is around 11 years old and is infatuated with her
older brother. When she talks about telling her friends where she learned to pitch a
ball, she says I tell them all you re my beau. Aren t you my beau, Hare? (139). This
type of talk does not bother Krebs in this situation, unlike the girls whom he refuses
to talk to in his town. His sister is pre pubescent, so she has unlikely developed the
body of a woman and also, she shows improbable signs of having sexual urges by
asking him if she is his girl and if he will love [her] always (140). By observing the
problems Krebs has with his own family members after the war, one can understand
why his problems communicating in the outside world, with strangers, exists.
While living at home and re adjusting to what had been his old life, Krebs could not
even interact with other people, specifically the girls, that lived in his town; never

Analysis Of Title VII Of The Civil Rights Act Of 1964
First of all, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a federal regulation
prohibiting employers from discriminating against employees based on national
origin, race, sex, color, and religion (Follett, Ward, Welch, 1993). This act applies to
employers with 15 or more employees and serves as a mechanism to ensure equality
within the workplace (Fraley, 2013). This case is a violation of Title VII from the
aspect of retaliation. Retaliation occurs when an individual is treated differently after
such things as, filing a complaint or engaging in a legally protected activity. It can
range from demotion, terminations, salary reduction, or any negative job action.
Second, the plaintiff should receive judgment for the claims of sex discrimination,...

Analysis Of The Bell Jar A Streetcar Named Desire ...
Compare and contrast the imagery of death and decay in the opening sections of The
Bell Jar , A Streetcar Named Desire and Hamlet .
Sylvia Plath s 1963 novel The Bell Jar , Tennessee Williams 1947 play A Streetcar
Named Desire and William Shakespeare s 1603 play Hamlet , share many
similarities, albeit there are also differences, in the way in which the themes of death
and decay are presented.
Sylvia Plath s poor mental health, which subsequently lead to her suicide on February
11th 1963, may be seen to be reflected in her novel, The Bell Jar . Death may be
deemed to have a lack of meaning throughout her novel due to the casual manner in
which the protagonist and narrator, Esther Greenwood, deals with death. Esther s
father passed away when she was nine years old, and she feels that his death
marked the point at which she changed, resulting in her mental health becoming
unstable. However, along with her mother, she had never cried for [her] father s
death (p.159). This clearly demonstrates how Esther deals with death; it is a
necessary part of life, and to Esther, as aforementioned, her mental health has
caused her to view death as more desirable than sitting under the same glass bell jar,
stewing in [her] own sour air (p. 178). Moreover, Esther s numerous attempts at
suicide remind the reader that Esther believes the only way out is death. For
example, in Chapter Thirteen, Esther asks her friend Cal, how he would kill

What bloody man is that? in these, the opening words of the play s second scene,
King Duncan asks about a sergeant. The sergeant then tells the story of Macbeth s
heroic victories over Macdonwald and the King of Norway. The sergeant s telling
of the story is in itself heroic, because his loss of blood has made him weak. Thus
his blood and his heroism seem to enhance the picture of Macbethas a hero. As Lady
Macbeth plans to kill King Duncan, she calls upon the spirits of murder to make
thick my blood; stop up the access and passage to remorse. Thin blood was
considered wholesome, and it was thought that poison made blood thick. Lady

will return, and he won t be pale anymore. After he has become king, Macbeth

has to go to the door to speak with first murderer. There s blood on thy face, he says
and the murderer proudly tells him its Banquo s blood, and that he left Banquo in
a ditch with twenty trenched gashes on his head, all deadly. A little later, just as
Macbeth is talking about how much he wishes that Banquo were at the banquet,
Banquo s Ghost appears. Macbeth says to the ghost, thou canst not say I did it;

Reflection For English Language Learners In The
Classroom
In the 21st century, collaboration plays an important role in education. Educators are
required to collaborate with other teachers about future curriculum deadlines, test
scores, and classroom management concerns. Yet, teachers should also learn to rely
on their own best judgment when determining what is best for their classroom.
While collaborating with my fellow classmates, Sarah and Tina, we decided to select
teaching objects that would benefit 3rd grade student as they work through the five
stages of the writing process. Sarah introduced an editing games that challenges
students knowedge of grammar and syntax needed during the editing stage in the
writing process. Tina brought a graphic organizer packet to the collaboration meeting
that is useful during the prewriting stage. Finally, I introduced a book called, Go
Away Big Green Monsters! as a prewriting activity.
During the collaboration meeting, Sarah introduced a colorful editing game that
reinforces grammar and syntax skills needed during the editing phase of the writing
process. Sarah s game challenges the players to find sentence errors made by Bad
Grammar himself, and to select the right punctuation to correct the sentence. In my
classroom, I would use Sarah s game in a language or literacy center, where students
can practice writing and proper grammar by playing games. The game would also be
great tool for English Language Learners (ELL) and Exceptional Student Education
(ESE) because it reinforces

explorer named Sir Walter Raleigh and some settlers in 1585 first founded the
Roanoke Colony. The finding was an attempt by Queen Elizabeth I to find an English
settlement in North America. Roanoke Colonywas established on Roanoke Island in
the outer banks of North Carolina. While Sir Walter Raleighwas in Roanoke he was
able to find 2 crucial goods, potato and tobacco, which was one of the first examples
of cultural diffusion . The governor of the Roanoke Colony was John White, he left
for a short trip to England and when he came back he found the settlement deserted.

The emerging concept of mobile edge clouds equips cellular network entities (such as
basestations) with servers, so that users can run cloud services with significantly
lower latency
[2]. The introduction of femtocells allows users to buy their own cellular network
devices based on their needs, thereby reducing the operators expenditure and
improving the network coverage [3]. All these trends point to the same direction.
That is, in the future, there will be more businesses operating on a single networked
platform, and the interactions between them will become increasingly complex. The
tradition that does not change however is that, due to physical limitations, the
amount of resources (such as communication bandwidth, computational capability of
servers, electricity, etc.) in the system remains limited. Therefore, there is a growing
need of studying how to efficiently allocate resources to different business entities. x

One fast and effective method of allocating resources at market value is using

Hunger Games And White Noise Comparative Essay

Evaluate The Effectiveness Of Non Violence Methods
All religions called for nonviolent principles that are based on peaceful strategies to
reach goals. Nonviolence seeks understanding and justice instead of riot or tumult.
In fact, the first time for someone to use this method was in India by Mohandas
Karamchand Gandhi (1869 1948), he believed that he can stand against the British
and bring independence to India using civil disobedience. Also, Anwar El Sadat
used the non violence method with Israel when he signed the peace agreement in
order to avoid a war. Therefor, the non violence technique is very effective which
lead Luther king Jr. to call upon Gandhi s method and make use of it to attain
equality between black and white people. In my opinion, applying the non violence
method is truly

Grendel is an unreliable narrator in John Gardner s book Grendel, which describes
his life journey to find truth about humanity and himself. Grendel does not display
the qualities of an impartial, authoritative, and unbiased narrator in the story, but
instead gives the reader cause for suspicion in his narration of events. Firstly,
Grendel is inherently biased as a narrator because it comes from the first person
point of view. Grendel has a bias to favor himself more positively in the events that
transpire over the course of the novel. He displays personal interest and is directly
involved in the conflicts that arise. Moreover, Grendel antagonizes and tortures the

Persuasive Essay On Soda
Introduction: According to the cspinet.org, last updated January 17, 2017, In
2013, the average American drank just over 38 gallons of soda a year... Most of us
could agree that we ve indulged on a cold refreshing coca cola, for that matter any

completes our dinners, and goes great with popcorn at the movies. However,
consuming soda has far more serious health risks than we may realize. For that
reason, I invite you all to limit the amount of soda you in take. Today I will discuss
the ingredients found in soda, the health risks of drinking soda, and alternatives to

Types Of Bull Mask From The Guinea Coast
The Bidyogo are a people group of approximately 15,000 from the Bissagos islands
just southwest of the Guinea Coast. The Bidyogo people are known for their
excellent craftsmanship and elaborate ceremonies. These ceremonies can be held for
many different events, one of these being initiations. During the initiation
ceremonies, many masks, headdresses and costumes are worn to help depict the
process of immature boys and girls reaching the overall goal of maturity. One of the
objects that is used during initiation is a mask that represents the bull. Depending the
island and the age gradethat a performer is a part of, different types of bull masks
are used. Careful research of these different kinds of bull masks with their precise
construction and how these particular masks are used will aid in the understanding of
the importance of the bull mask to the Bidyogo people.
Figure 1 is the first type of bull mask, Vaca Bruto or wild cattle in creole. This type
of bull mask is found on the islands of Uno and Formosa. The Vaca Bruto is carved
from wood, and has life like features carved into the face. It also has eyes that are
made glass, real horns, ears made of leather, and a rope through the nose. In addition
to the Vaca Bruto mask, performers wearcostumes. These costumes are made of
belts, arm guards, and back adornments . The mask and costume are animated by
the performer in a number of ways. The first way is to make the mask act life like
by bowing and facing the ground and
Persuasive Essay On Women In The Military
Did you know that women could be drafted to combat? I believe that women
should all get the chance to fight if they want to. There are tons of women that are
in combat. They all join for different reasons, some join just to see what it s like,
and some join because they want to represent their country. During the Civil War
more than 400 women went into the army disguising themselves as men, just do
that they could fight in the war. If women can dress up as men and go to war and
fight for our country then i feel like we should give them the right to do it. In 2011
there was about 203,000 women in the United StatesMilitary. Some people think that
women aren t capable of doing it, or that she won t be able to do it. Women going
into the combatknow that it is not an easy thing and are up to the challenge. But to
me I think that if she thinks she can do it and is up for the challenge that we should
believe that she can doing it to. In 1948 President Truman helped make a separate
military service for women. If a women can show that she is capable in a boot camp
then why shouldn t she be able to fight for our country.
For women to be in the Military it might be tougher meaning guys naturally have
more muscle, but if a women had their mindset on doing it, no one should tell her
that is isn t allowed to because she isn t a guy. Today women have so much more
freedom than what they used to have. Many people think that women won t be
aggressive during the war and that s why they should not be able to be a part of
something as great as it. I think that women will be aggressive when it comes to
the real fight because they know that if they don t they could most likely be killed.
Going into the military women know that they have a chance of not coming out.

Analyse The Importance Of Being Earnest Satire Essay
The play, The Importance of Being Earnest, by Oscar Wilde was written during the
Victorian Era, characterized for its moral values. Throughout the play, Wilde used
satire as comical relief to show his deviance from the social order by making
ridiculous the ideas of standards, morals and manners. Oscar Wilde criticizes the
superficiality of Victorian marriage and courtship through the character Lady
Bracknell and the name Earnest.
Lady Bracknell is presented by Wilde as the true definition of a satirical character.
She uses satirical comments to show her disinterest in Jack, the character that would
like to marry her daughter Gwendolen. Satire is expressed through the lines in which
Lady Bracknell says, However, I am quite ready to enter your name, should your
answers be what a really affectionate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Do you smoke? (Wilde 20) In these lines, exaggeration is placed in a way that
makes the reader pause to question what was just said. As the reader, it is anticipated
that Lady Bracknell will begin asking a series of difficult questions, but instead she
voices a more straightforward question. During the Victorian Era, the mothers had a
certain criteria that they wanted their daughter s courter to be compliant with.
Wilde created the element of satire by basically mocking interview questions that
could have possibly been asked during the Victorian Era. Along with having a
specific criteria, financial stability was extremely important to people during the
Victorian Era. This aspect of society is mocked by Wilde when Lady Bracknell
states, A hundred and thirty thousand pounds! And in the funds! Miss Cardew
seems to me a most attractive young lady now that I look at her. (Wilde 77) In the
lines prior to this one, Lady Bracknell is showing her detest towards Cecily until
she asks about the money she has and her financial stability. It is then where she
decides that Cecily may not be that bad of a girl at all. This presents
The Pros And Cons Of Mind Wandering
Mind wandering is the situation in which a person s attention and thoughts wander
from a current task to some other inappropriate line of thought (Radvansky, Ashcraft
2014). This is a very common experience, and for most it is also an issue at times.
Everyone wants to be able to concentrate and not have other thoughts in their mind
when needed such as in school, work etc... Daydreaming, thinking about what you
will eat, about your family, or when you read something and have no idea what you
just read, are all examples of mind wandering (Radvansky, Ashcraft 2014). There have
been claims stating that mind wandering is lower for low working memory capacity
(WMC) subjects (Radvansky, Ashcraft 2014). Researchers have examined this and
many other factors contributing to the mind wandering phenomenon. Many
conclusions have been made upon different components of mind wandering, thus we
will explore various research studies that provide recent discoveries in mind
wandering.
Introduction
Our minds do not wander randomly to what doesn t worry us, it wanders due to
having numerous concerns, which in turn forces our minds to think about them in
any instant (Radvansky, Ashcraft 2014). When we mind wander, we take all the
attention from the atmosphere we are in and emphasis entirely in our own inner
thoughts. Often, we are not aware that we are day dreaming until we catch ourselves
(Radvansky, Ashcraft 2014). Mind wandering is a very interesting and vast topic that
we have discussed in
Analysis Of Orson Welles And Herman Mankiewicz
Citizen Kane figures in one of the most influential, and greatest filmography works
of all time. However, the making of its fame was rather rough. Orson Welles and
Herman Mankiewicz were the screenwriters for this movie, Welles was the leading
director; therefore, he had the final saying in the contributions to the movie. Both
writers worked separately when developing the story, only having the main
character defined: Charles Foster Kane it is pertinent to say that I think Foster is
supposed to be ironic considering his morose childhood . Welles had a rough
childhood, which is portrayed in the film, since he came from a broken home and
lost his hardworking mother when he was nine. The origins of Kane s personality
is sort of like a mixture between allusions to Welles miserable childhood due to his
parents divorce, and later the death of his mother in his first ten years of life; and
also an exposГ© of William Hearst s life. Hearst is arguably one of the most
influential American journalists and main contributor of the creation of yellow
journalism basically, headlines with information that had almost no support for its
claimings . Kane s character is mainly built out of these two pivotal events, hence
his childhood, passion for yellow journalism, and obsession with power over papers.
The category for this film is called film Г clef, and just like roman Г clef for novels,
this means that the work is describing real life situations, or characters are minimally

African American Culture Analysis
1. Summarize the historical background, demographics, and diversity within the
African American community in the United States.
In the 1960s and 1970s, the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Pride Movement

about expanded instructive and business opportunities and dynamic political
contribution. The consolidation of the Black Pride Movement of the 1960s and 1970s

ordinarily the leaders of the family unit. However, a genuine matriarchy is orderly
and composed, and women control property and monetary exercises. Although, that s
not entirely true and the only reason, which is true, is because of the absence of
fathers (Ch. 6 Law Enforcement Contact with African Americans, n.d.). Crucially,
African American fathers normally see themselves as leaders of the family; in this
manner, any choices regarding the family ought to incorporate the father s
investment. It is insulting and disrespectful for officers to direct their questions to
and their focus on the mother when both parents are present (Ch. 6 Law
Enforcement Contact with African Americans, n.d). The single mother, especially
in the inner city, does not generally get the appreciation that she is due; outsiders
may be critical of the way she lives or the way they think she lives (Ch. 6 Law

Glory Essay
The film Glory by Edward Zwick is one of the most well known films of all time.
The film itself is solely based upon the first formal unit of the Union Army during the
American Civil War which consist of all African Americanmen. They were
essentially the very first unit of United States Colored Troops. They were formally
known for their courageous attempts to and actions at Fort Wagner in 1863. The film
is set in many different locations such as New York, Maryland, South Carolina and
Massachusetts. In each of these different locations events took place that shaped our
history. For example on November twenty seventh of 1862 Robert Shaw started to
train soldiers. July eighteenth 1863 the Colonel Shaw and his troops attempted to
take Fort Wagner, which didn t succeed.
The film has many characters that actually made a difference in history. Four major
characters were Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, Pvt. Trip, Sgt. Maj. John Rawlins and
Cpl. Thomas Searles. Colonel Shaw served as the Commander of the 54th
Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. He also serves as great leader to his troops. Pvt.
Trip was a soldier of the 54th Regiment. Seen to other soldiers as a smart mouth
trouble maker because of his background. Sgt. Maj. John Rawlins started as a grave
digger for wars then moved up to a non commissioned officer. After volunteering for
the 54th regiment he was promoted by Major Cabot Forbes. He had to

Delamere Vineyard
Delamere Vineyard
Delamere Vineyard is a small, integrated winemaking business in Tasmania,
specializing in pinot noir (red) and chardonnay (white) wines. Richard Richardson,
Delamere s owner and winemaker, manages and operates the vineyard and winery
largely alone. His products have won praise and awards in the past, but Richardson
strives continuously to improve. Delamere competes in the high priced segment, in
which quality is paramount. Richardson is well equipped as a winemaker with a
Ph.D. in agricultural chemistry and 15 years experience. (Harvard Business School,
2000) Winemaking is a very exclusive, yet competitive business that requires great
care and understanding of customer demands.

Often, your gut is just plain wrong because it s subject to biases (HBR, 2001).
Decisions that involve where a company s future is headed and changes in operations
must be made with a clear head, and the long time notion of three heads are better
than one should come into play. Richardson admits that sales is dependent on the
quality of the wine. The process of winemaking is difficult to specifically characterize
and replicate for consistency.
Richardson has pinpointed some areas in his business where improvement can be
made to set his wine apart from the competition while increasing productivity and
sales. His first option involves consideration to amend winemaking procedures to
eliminate the possibility of oxidation as the wine matured. Excessive contact with
oxygen, along with other chemicals, induced compounds called aldehydes, which
could create a distinct and unpleasant flaw in the wine s taste, unforgettable bitter
aroma somewhat akin to stale oil, along with an unattractive browning of the color
(Delamere Vineyard, 2000). This option leads to a constant output of good quality
wine. This process will allow
Richardson to attract a large amount of customers through both mail order and
wholesalers due to the fact that this process can produce the same type of wine
product every year. Customers tend to feel at ease purchasing wine from distributors

Vom Rath Research Paper
On the night of November 9th, 1938, chaos struck the German Reich and forever
changed the lives of Jewish people living in Europe. This terror, known as
Kristallnacht, ended late on November 10th. As a result, nearly 8,000 Jewish
business and homes were destroyed, 200 synagogues were burned to the ground,
and 76 were demolished. Innocent Jews were beaten, raped, and terrorized by
Nazi officers in their own homes (Fitzgerald 72). As a result of this historic
pogrom, over 100 Jews were killed and 30,000 were sent to concentration camps;
most never to be set free (Fitzgerald 13). Earlier in the day on November 9th,

Types And Methods Of Tests That Are Being Used During...
Biodata Test There are many forms and methods of tests that are being used during
selection process. Biodata test is a type of exam that is used in selection process
which uses background experience and behaviors to predict applicant s performance
on certain jobs. The biodata test I took was designed to predict performance on a
position in salesand customer services. The test predicts dependability, positive
customer service attitudes, retention, management potential, and performance of
an applicant. Based on score an applicant receive, the test gives recommendation to
hiring management whether an applicant is good fit for the position or not. Since
I took the test after our discussion during class, I probably had better glimpse of
what it would like than other people who took before the class. However, I was not
sure what to look for in terms of questions and answers. I have heard about various
testing methods and types that companies use for selection, and I imagined one
more similar to academic test that measures intelligence. Yet, this test was different
and some questions looked very inappropriate or illegal in some sense. The test
begun with asking basic information about me such as name and address. I was not
sure why they need address for the selection, but I had not had much of issue with it.
However, a questionasking birth day was not comfortable to answer. I am relatively

Intellect VS. Test Scores
Growing up, I never really had a problem with tests. I didn t necessarily enjoy
taking them, however I thankfully never got too apprehensive. I looked at them as a
way to determine my intelligence, and would gladly share my scores both good and
bad with my peers. Looking back on my perception of tests, I find that my point of
view was ignorant to the fact that test scores whether they are standardized or not do
not determine a person s intellect. In the state of North Carolina, students take their

Who Is The Protagonist In Invisible Man
After reading the first portion of Invisible Man, the scene that stood out the most to

Similarities And Differences Between The New England

During the colonial era, England founded the Thirteen colonies. The New england
colonial region was established for religious freedom. The Southern colonial
region settled to find gold and earn profits. There were many differences and
similarities in New England and the Southern geography, economy, and culture.
There are similarities and differences of the geography of New England and
Southern colonies. The South had mild, rainy winters and long hot humid
summers. This means, the South could grow many crops. According to A Virginia
Plantation, the south had lots of plantations with tobacco and corn (Doc 6).
However, New England had long cold winters and a short growing season. This
means New England did not grow as many crops as the South. Instead, many
colonists had small farms for their family or community. Therefore, the differences
in geography helped to shape the development of the New England and Southern
regions. There were similarities and differences in the economy of New england
and the Southern colonies. New England colonies had small farms, lumberjacks,
and shipbuilders. The colonies were near the Atlantic Ocean to help with their
jobs. The coast helped the colonists trade. New England did not have slaves instead
they used indentured servants to help with labor. These servants in a passage to
the New World and after about 7 years they are given land and freedom. On the
other hand, to make money in the South they would sell slaves to make a profit.
The slaves did most of the work on their plantations. The slaves would do all of the
work so their owners could make the money from the crops they grew. When they
were traveling on the ship to be sold the conditions were terrible. The ship was very
crowded and many of the slaves got sick. According to The Slave Flyer it states
that they made sure the slaves didn t have smallpox because they would be able to
sell them for more money if they seemed to be in good condition. They didn t care
if they were not healthy they just wanted them to look healthy (Doc 8). Many people
came to the South only to find gold. They only cared about finding gold so they didn
t build houses or get prepared for what might happen to them. They just looked
Who Am I Am Essay
PASSport Essay #1 The question who am I ? Can have a lot of individuals thinking
about themselves, including myself because one might not know where to start. It
is a very broad question, but having done the Strengths Finder 2.0 assessment, I
realized more in depth what kind of person I really am based on my top 5 strengths.
Who I am as a learner, who I am in my career and who I am as a person of faith lead
me to answering the question above and understandingmore of myself within. First
off, who I am as a learner has changed over the past years. At times before, I wouldn t
take certain classes or assignments seriously and have learned my lessons when I
failed. I believehaving classmates at the time who weren t as focused as I wanted to
be, played a big role in my lack of understanding in classes. I understood later that if I
felt learningwas so important to me, I need to realize that it is my future and I
needed to focus on my own. Having learner in my top 5 strengths defines me very
well. Rath (2007) explains that, The process, more than the content or the result, is
especially exciting for you (p.133). I believe this defines me as a learner because I
enjoy having books in hand, opening up my notebook to write notes and learning
new ways to understand the class. Regardless if the content is something I have to
get in to or if I don t do well on tests, I enjoy the process of studying and learning
more even when I know I didn t do so well; that is what motivates me. I believe as
long as I keep this mindset and understand that this is my strength, I will continue
to grow and further my education as much as possible. Even though I have failed a
few of my last classes, I never let that stop me from continuing. Knowing that I
have failed makes me realize I know I can do better and I try my hardest not to let
it get me down. I will not get further if I don t keep trying and as a learner I am a
motivator to myself in my studies. When it comes to who I am in my career, a few
of my strengths shine through more than others. For example, I put everything I
have in to my work and into my career, and looking back at how I ve worked in the
past compared to now, I see my strengths restorative and developer.
Ethical Values From The Book The Dispossessed Written
By...
What is ethics? It is a code of conduct that a human being lives by. Being ethical
makes life a bit easier and simpler because of the boundaries and code of conduct
we set for our selves. Many authors implement their own ethical values into their
stories, which sometimes give the reader an insight into the kind of person the
author is. Making references to an article by Daniel P Jaeckle, I will be analyzing
the three ethical values from the book The Dispossessed written by Ursula K.
LeGuin, that have been layered together in a way that it creates interpersonal ethics,
ethics of mutual aid, ethics of shared pain, and ethics of the bond, designed to meet
the needs of an anarchist society. Anarchism is a philosophy based on voluntary...

Only weakness. (Ch. 7) In his article, Jaeckle hints that LeGuin borrowed this ethical
value from the work of a Russian anarchist Peter Kropotkin. It can be said that
Shevek increases the variety of the sociality to species way beyond human beings. He
calls this so called species social species . The fact that he does this is so important
because it signifies that being social is not something that is religiously necessary
or related to someone s past. Being social or anti social can occur at any age
through out someone s life. From the above quote, Shevek s dialogue can be
perceived as an interpretation of Darwin s principle the survival of the fittest. Yes,
it is somewhat true that people who are social are the strongest and those who are
anti social are weak, only because the social species know how to get around
people and the anti social ones are too afraid to speak to anyone else, hence they
sometimes get into trouble even if they didn t mean to. How does this relate to
ethics? Well, according to the quote above, a competitive society that focuses on
domination rather than equality will commit an unethical blunder. This blunder will
lead to misunderstanding of the importance of the forces that moves humanity and
the other social species forward and to evolution. Where does mutual aid come into
play here? How is mutual aid connected to the social species? It is rather simple.
Most social species tend to live

Firstly, the United Nations is a multifaceted organization, encompassing a wide array of functions, objectives, and historical contexts. This necessitates comprehensive research to grasp its intricate structure, its role in global affairs, its successes, failures, and ongoing challenges. Moreover, the topic demands a nuanced understanding of international relations, diplomacy, peacekeeping efforts, humanitarian aid, sustainable development goals, and human rights issues, among others. Analyzing these aspects requires not only a broad knowledge base but also critical thinking skills to assess the UN's effectiveness in addressing global issues and its impact on geopolitics. Furthermore, the United Nations has a complex institutional framework involving various specialized agencies, programs, and bodies, each with its own mandate and operational mechanisms. Synthesizing information from diverse sources and presenting a coherent narrative can be daunting. Contextualizing its actions within the broader historical, political, and socio-economic contexts adds another layer of complexity to the essay. A fluid is made out of atoms that have an adequate sub atomic fascination yet aren t as firmly stuffed as a strong. In the gas express, the atoms are generally scattered and moving openly. The distinction in the middle of solids and fluids and fluids and gasses depends on the measure of warm vitality and the quality of intermolecular powers. Soldier s Home by Ernest Hemingway Essay Soldier s Home by Ernest Hemingway In Soldier s Home, Ernest Hemingway depicts Harold Krebs return home from World War I and the problems he faces when dealing with his homecoming and transition back towards a normal life. After the fighting overseas commenced, it took Krebs a year to finally leave Europe and return to his family in Oklahoma. Once home, he found it hard to talk about all he had seen in his tour of duty overseas, which should be attributed to the fact that he saw action in some of the bloodiest, most crucial battles towards the culmination of the war. Therefore, Krebs difficulty in acknowledging his past is because he was indeed a good soldier (139), whose efforts in order to survive The Great War, were not... He could not assimilate back into living a regular life with the thoughts of regular men. In seeing so much that should be out of the ordinary, he never wanted to deal with common human issues again, not to mention consequences. Krebs relationship with his sister is probably his best with anyone in the house. This is most likely due to the fact that she is around 11 years old and is infatuated with her older brother. When she talks about telling her friends where she learned to pitch a ball, she says I tell them all you re my beau. Aren t you my beau, Hare? (139). This type of talk does not bother Krebs in this situation, unlike the girls whom he refuses to talk to in his town. His sister is pre pubescent, so she has unlikely developed the body of a woman and also, she shows improbable signs of having sexual urges by asking him if she is his girl and if he will love [her] always (140). By observing the problems Krebs has with his own family members after the war, one can understand why his problems communicating in the outside world, with strangers, exists. While living at home and re adjusting to what had been his old life, Krebs could not even interact with other people, specifically the girls, that lived in his town; never mind having a conversation with

  • 9. Analysis Of The Bell Jar A Streetcar Named Desire ... Compare and contrast the imagery of death and decay in the opening sections of The Bell Jar , A Streetcar Named Desire and Hamlet . Sylvia Plath s 1963 novel The Bell Jar , Tennessee Williams 1947 play A Streetcar Named Desire and William Shakespeare s 1603 play Hamlet , share many similarities, albeit there are also differences, in the way in which the themes of death and decay are presented. Sylvia Plath s poor mental health, which subsequently lead to her suicide on February 11th 1963, may be seen to be reflected in her novel, The Bell Jar . Death may be deemed to have a lack of meaning throughout her novel due to the casual manner in which the protagonist and narrator, Esther Greenwood, deals with death. Esther s father passed away when she was nine years old, and she feels that his death marked the point at which she changed, resulting in her mental health becoming unstable. However, along with her mother, she had never cried for [her] father s death (p.159). This clearly demonstrates how Esther deals with death; it is a necessary part of life, and to Esther, as aforementioned, her mental health has caused her to view death as more desirable than sitting under the same glass bell jar, stewing in [her] own sour air (p. 178). Moreover, Esther s numerous attempts at suicide remind the reader that Esther believes the only way out is death. For example, in Chapter Thirteen, Esther asks her friend Cal, how he would kill

Educators are required to collaborate with other teachers about future curriculum deadlines, test scores, and classroom management concerns. Yet, teachers should also learn to rely on their own best judgment when determining what is best for their classroom. While collaborating with my fellow classmates, Sarah and Tina, we decided to select teaching objects that would benefit 3rd grade student as they work through the five stages of the writing process. Sarah introduced an editing games that challenges students knowedge of grammar and syntax needed during the editing stage in the writing process. There are tons of women that are in combat. They all join for different reasons, some join just to see what it s like, and some join because they want to represent their country. During the Civil War more than 400 women went into the army disguising themselves as men, just do that they could fight in the war. Some people think that women aren t capable of doing it, or that she won t be able to do it. Women going into the combatknow that it is not an easy thing and are up to the challenge. But to me I think that if she thinks she can do it and is up for the challenge that we should believe that she can doing it to. In 1948 President Truman helped make a separate military service for women. If a women can show that she is capable in a boot camp then why shouldn t she be able to fight for our country. For women to be in the Military it might be tougher meaning guys naturally have more muscle, but if a women had their mindset on doing it, no one should tell her that is isn t allowed to because she isn t a guy. Today women have so much more freedom than what they used to have. Many people think that women won t be aggressive during the war and that s why they should not be able to be a part of something as great as it. I think that women will be aggressive when it comes to the real fight because they know that if they don t they could most likely be killed. Oscar Wilde criticizes the superficiality of Victorian marriage and courtship through the character Lady Bracknell and the name Earnest. Lady Bracknell is presented by Wilde as the true definition of a satirical character. During the Victorian Era, the mothers had a certain criteria that they wanted their daughter s courter to be compliant with. This is a very common experience, and for most it is also an issue at times. Everyone wants to be able to concentrate and not have other thoughts in their mind when needed such as in school, work etc... Daydreaming, thinking about what you will eat, about your family, or when you read something and have no idea what you just read, are all examples of mind wandering (Radvansky, Ashcraft 2014). There have been claims stating that mind wandering is lower for low working memory capacity (WMC) subjects (Radvansky, Ashcraft 2014). Decisions that involve where a company s future is headed and changes in operations must be made with a clear head, and the long time notion of three heads are better than one should come into play. Richardson admits that sales is dependent on the quality of the wine. The process of winemaking is difficult to specifically characterize and replicate for consistency. Richardson has pinpointed some areas in his business where improvement can be made to set his wine apart from the competition while increasing productivity and sales. His first option involves consideration to amend winemaking procedures to eliminate the possibility of oxidation as the wine matured. Excessive contact with oxygen, along with other chemicals, induced compounds called aldehydes, which could create a distinct and unpleasant flaw in the wine s taste, unforgettable bitter aroma somewhat akin to stale oil, along with an unattractive browning of the color (Delamere Vineyard, 2000). This option leads to a constant output of good quality wine. This process will allow Richardson to attract a large amount of customers through both mail order and wholesalers due to the fact that this process can produce the same type of wine product every year. Customers tend to feel at ease purchasing wine from distributors who

Biodata test is a type of exam that is used in selection process which uses background experience and behaviors to predict applicant s performance on certain jobs. The biodata test I took was designed to predict performance on a position in salesand customer services. The test predicts dependability, positive customer service attitudes, retention, management potential, and performance of an applicant. Based on score an applicant receive, the test gives recommendation to hiring management whether an applicant is good fit for the position or not. Since I took the test after our discussion during class, I probably had better glimpse of what it would like than other people who took before the class. However, I was not sure what to look for in terms of questions and answers. I have heard about various testing methods and types that companies use for selection, and I imagined one more similar to academic test that measures intelligence. Yet, this test was different and some questions looked very inappropriate or illegal in some sense. The test begun with asking basic information about me such as name and address. The New england colonial region was established for religious freedom. The Southern colonial region settled to find gold and earn profits. There were many differences and similarities in New England and the Southern geography, economy, and culture. There are similarities and differences of the geography of New England and Southern colonies. The South had mild, rainy winters and long hot humid summers. This means, the South could grow many crops. According to A Virginia Plantation, the south had lots of plantations with tobacco and corn (Doc 6). However, New England had long cold winters and a short growing season. This means New England did not grow as many crops as the South. Instead, many colonists had small farms for their family or community. Therefore, the differences in geography helped to shape the development of the New England and Southern regions. There were similarities and differences in the economy of New england and the Southern colonies. New England colonies had small farms, lumberjacks, and shipbuilders. The colonies were near the Atlantic Ocean to help with their jobs. The coast helped the colonists trade. New England did not have slaves instead they used indentured servants to help with labor. • 43. Who Am I Am Essay PASSport Essay #1 The question who am I ? Can have a lot of individuals thinking about themselves, including myself because one might not know where to start. It is a very broad question, but having done the Strengths Finder 2.0 assessment, I realized more in depth what kind of person I really am based on my top 5 strengths. Who I am as a learner, who I am in my career and who I am as a person of faith lead me to answering the question above and understandingmore of myself within. First off, who I am as a learner has changed over the past years. At times before, I wouldn t take certain classes or assignments seriously and have learned my lessons when I failed. I believehaving classmates at the time who weren t as focused as I wanted to be, played a big role in my lack of understanding in classes. I understood later that if I felt learningwas so important to me, I need to realize that it is my future and I needed to focus on my own. Having learner in my top 5 strengths defines me very well. Rath (2007) explains that, The process, more than the content or the result, is especially exciting for you (p.133). I believe this defines me as a learner because I enjoy having books in hand, opening up my notebook to write notes and learning new ways to understand the class. Regardless if the content is something I have to get in to or if I don t do well on tests, I enjoy the process of studying and learning more even when I know I didn t do so well; that is what motivates me. I believe as long as I keep this mindset and understand that this is my strength, I will continue to grow and further my education as much as possible. Even though I have failed a few of my last classes, I never let that stop me from continuing. Knowing that I have failed makes me realize I know I can do better and I try my hardest not to let it get me down. I will not get further if I don t keep trying and as a learner I am a motivator to myself in my studies. When it comes to who I am in my career, a few of my strengths shine through more than others. For example, I put everything I have in to my work and into my career, and looking back at how I ve worked in the past compared to now, I see my strengths restorative and developer.
  • 44. Ethical Values From The Book The Dispossessed Written By... What is ethics? It is a code of conduct that a human being lives by. Being ethical makes life a bit easier and simpler because of the boundaries and code of conduct we set for our selves. Many authors implement their own ethical values into their stories, which sometimes give the reader an insight into the kind of person the author is. Making references to an article by Daniel P Jaeckle, I will be analyzing the three ethical values from the book The Dispossessed written by Ursula K. LeGuin, that have been layered together in a way that it creates interpersonal ethics, ethics of mutual aid, ethics of shared pain, and ethics of the bond, designed to meet the needs of an anarchist society. Anarchism is a philosophy based on voluntary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Only weakness. (Ch. 7) In his article, Jaeckle hints that LeGuin borrowed this ethical value from the work of a Russian anarchist Peter Kropotkin. It can be said that Shevek increases the variety of the sociality to species way beyond human beings. He calls this so called species social species . The fact that he does this is so important because it signifies that being social is not something that is religiously necessary or related to someone s past. Being social or anti social can occur at any age through out someone s life. From the above quote, Shevek s dialogue can be perceived as an interpretation of Darwin s principle the survival of the fittest. Yes, it is somewhat true that people who are social are the strongest and those who are anti social are weak, only because the social species know how to get around people and the anti social ones are too afraid to speak to anyone else, hence they sometimes get into trouble even if they didn t mean to. How does this relate to ethics? Well, according to the quote above, a competitive society that focuses on domination rather than equality will commit an unethical blunder. This blunder will lead to misunderstanding of the importance of the forces that moves humanity and the other social species forward and to evolution. Where does mutual aid come into play here? How is mutual aid connected to the social species? It is rather simple. Most social species tend to live
