Media Impact On Entertainment
The media is one of the biggest focal points of contemporary America s daily life and America is both
blind and naive when it comes to media, but not in the sense that Americans don t know how to
understand media, but separates itself from the reality of this fictitious medium. In Bill Moyers Free
Speech For Sale, proof arises that media controls more than what most people think. Even though
there is proof of media tampering and being overall very deceitful, most Americans decide to detach
themselves from the reality of the situation. But entertainment isn t the only thing that s being
manipulated to conform to the ideal message: actors and other public presences are filtered and this is
seen in Marshall Mcluhan s Amusing Ourselves To Death. Even though media is very dishonorable, it
still is astonishing because of the advancements in technology that is seen in the media today.
Media has become the ruler of our entertainment. The dictionary describes media as the system and
organizations of communication through which information is spread to a large number of people
(Webster). But media is so much more than that. Now, it s a type of communication that focuses on
bringing to people what really matters... Kylie Jenner s pregnancy and the imprisonment of Miles
Teller. Now this might be important to the celebrities that are actually experiencing it, but does it
really matter to you? Well, the big media corporations think you should care so they re going to make
you care. That s

The Scare Of Lack Of Security
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can
do that Martin Luther King Jr. As the July attacks in Nice, France start to dissolve from the headlines
the effects still weigh heavily on Paris, and the other countries around the world. They will forever be
remembered and France will continue to pay for the attacks economically. The Nice attacks effect s
France economically due to the scare of lack of security which causes decrease of tourism. On July
14th, 2016, Bastille Day in France scores of people were celebrating all day and then were concluding

A few travelers that were present on Bastille day said that there were no police or security measures in
place to protect them especially all along the beach. (Laure Teresi, Washington Post) Although
countless people have complained of the lack of security officials are responding that they have
reached the maximum we could reach in terms of security measures... security now is now more a
qualitative problem then a quantitative problem. (Bolstering, Washington post) The threat of security
is not only everyone safety but also the decrease of people traveling to other countries because of the
threat of their lives. The most visited country in the world, France, has been through many terrorist
attacks with its most recent being in Nice. It is becoming speculated that France will start to see more
decrease in tourism, which could lead to major economic failure. Tourism is one of the biggest
incomes in France, they make over 200 million a year through tourists. With tourism accounting for
78% of the eurozone s No. 2 economy last week s truck attack on the French Riviera deals a new blow
to an industry that had yet to recover fully from the bloody assaults in Paris in January and November
last year, which were also claimed by Islamic State (Reuters) Tourism in France was down 20% before
the attacks in Nice and now it is speculated that it will come down another 10 20%. The visitors in

The Oedipal Complex Literary Analysis
Many stories include a child who vies for their parent(s) attention. One being, Oedipus, by Sophocles,
where Oedipus rivals his father, who he believes is a stranger, to gain the attention of his wife/mother.
The idea of a child, mostly boys, trying to gain their parent(s) (who tend to be a mother more often
than a father) attention is known as The Oedipal Complex , created by Sigmund Freud. The Oedipal
Complex , is a theory of a developing of feelings a boy develops towards his mother. He then is
against his father, or another male figure with his mother, and has jealousy or anger towards the man.
Eventually the boy tries to rival the man for attention from his mother. The Oedipal Complex is very
prominent in the short story, The Rocking Horse Winner , written by DH Lawerence. One of the
protagonists, Paul, develops the idea in which he should raise money for his mother, since she
considers herself unlucky . The mother, Hester, believes she is unlucky because herself and her
husband work low income jobs which are unable to support their lavish tastes. Therefore, Paul is
introduced to horse racing by his gardener, Basset, who bids on who he believes will win the races.
Paul tells Basset who he wants to bid on, and Basset would go and put the bid down for Paul. One day
Paul was discussing his connection with his gardener with his Uncle Oscar. His Uncle Oscar took Paul
to his first race, they both bidded on Daffodil, who won the race, afterwards Uncle Oscar is included

Lucy And The American Dream Analysis
A close study of the way Lucy by Jamaica Kincaid and the characters of Seven react to their
encounters with the new world. Both stories are new immigrant literature and they both bring the past
experiences or events to the present. In the book The American Dream by Jim Cullen he questions if
the past is essential to your future or does it matter at all. Lucy is a story that describes a girl s
experience in the new world, throughout the story she dealt with a great deal of controversy when
having to adjust to the new world. The objective of this part of the book is Lucy compares everything
to a troubling episode that happened back at her home. One of Lucy s first days in the new world she
was excited to see sun shining her immediate thought was warm temperature which coming from a
tropical zone she was used to the type of weather. A rude awakening appeared when she felt the cold
air but the sun was still shining, But I did not know that the sun could shine and the air remain cold;
no one had ever told me (Kincaid 5). Throughout the story Lucy is unsatisfied with just about every
encounter with the new world, the first quote shows how differently Lucy sees the world. Lucy is
brought to the United States to be a babysitter to the children of Lewis and Mariah and go to school at
night. The family of the house was nice to Lucy, and she is surprised by this treatment saying that I
should regard them as my family and make myself at home (Kincaid 7). Another person

Essay On Digital Assistant
Students primarily rely on professors and academic advisors to recommend a class schedule to them
each semester. On the student side, it is assumed that this recommended schedule is moving them
toward graduation while preparing them for career success. However, given that upper level classes in
the CS/IT department at Clayton State University aren t always offered every semester, students can
risk delaying graduation and not being fully career ready, by not doing enough of their own research
into the classes they need. Being able to verify the researched class requirements against the advised
class requirements is a crucial step in getting more students graduating from the CS and IT programs
at Clayton State University.

[1] If a student, or an advisor makes a mistake in calculating the student s credits and pre requisites, or
if the student has other issues with registration (course substitutions, department approvals, etc), the
student is then forced to create more appointments with the advisor to get things on track for them.
This process points to challenges in the academic advising model that leaves students disconnected
from their education and can result in more dire consequences including delayed graduation. In the
work of Luna, Gaye, et.al, the authors stated that E advising can establish a support system for rural
graduate students by creating a means of accessibility and communication. Through e advising, rural
graduates students have an opportunity to self direct and contribute to their own educational
advisement needs. Universities can use e advising to foster successful students by creating more
accessibility and communication. [2] While course work and advising at the graduate level has it s
distinctions from advising at the undergraduate level, some core concepts still ring true. Advising
through technology empowers the students to take charge of their education, and ensure their goals are
being met according to their schedule. Though digital assistants aren t capable of filling the full role of
a human academic advisor, giving students access to key, basic information will make all advising
more effective.

Healthy Dental Habits Include Flossing
A Family Dentist in Red Deer Helps Instill Good Oral Hygiene in Children
Getting your child started with a proper oral hygiene plan is critical to his or her health. In fact, even
pre school age children may require oral surgery if they don t implement the right habits. By teaching
your child to regularly brush and floss now, you can help him or her avoid many dental issues in the
future.
It is not unusual for a parent to doubt the necessity of flossing for a child. This could be a tragic
mistake to make. If your child does not start flossing as early as possible, he or she could manifest
preventable cavities. Additionally, neglecting to floss may result in gum disease and loss of adult teeth

Here are some tips on flossing from your local dentists:
Why Flossing Is Important: Brushing every day is essential, but it isn t as effective as daily brushing
and flossing. Although a toothbrush works to remove plaque, it cannot reach between the teeth or
underneath the gums. Your child needs dental floss to access those areas. Neglecting to floss enables
harmful bacteria to grow there. That growth may result in many oral health problems.
Display a Chart: Children respond positively to visual cues, so consider hanging a printable flossing
chart with a calendar in your bathroom. You can give your child a sticker to reward him or her for
flossing on a daily basis. Let your child place the stickers on the calendar to reflect every flossing
session.
Floss with Your Child: To further promote this healthy habit, floss with your child every day. Show
your child how to floss, and then, floss your own teeth along with him or her. If you are unsure about
how to demonstrate flossing to your little one, ask your Red Deer dentist for guidance. Your family
dentist can show your child how to floss, as well as offer tips for assisting him or her at

Classification Of Student Learning Essay
4.2 Classification of student learning process
To learn is to acquire knowledge or skill. Learning also may involve a change in attitude or behavior.
Children learn to identify objects at an early age; teenagers may learn to improve study habits; and
adults can learn to solve complex problems. Pilots and aviation maintenance technicians (AMTs) need
to acquire the higher levels of knowledge and skill, including the ability to exercise judgment and
solve problems. The challenge for the aviation instructor is to understand how people learn, and more
importantly, to be able to apply that knowledge to the learning environment. This handbook is
designed as a basic guide to educational psychology. This chapter addresses that branch of psychology
directly concerned with how people learn.
Human learning may occur as part of education, personal development, schooling, or training. It may
be goal oriented and may be aided by motivation. The study of how learning occurs is part of
neuropsychology, educational psychology, learning theory, and pedagogy. Learning may occur as a
result of habituation or classical conditioning, seen in many animal species, or as a result of more
complex activities such as play, seen only in relatively intelligent animals. Learning may occur
consciously or without conscious awareness. Learning that an aversive event can t be avoided nor
escaped is called learned helplessness. There is evidence for human behavioral learning prenatally, in
which habituation

Essay about Health Care Reform in the United States
Health Care Reform
Health care has been an area of discussion for some time now. In the United States, the current health
care system is a private system that allows individuals to choose their own method of care. Despite the
freedom that comes with the independent nature of this type of health care system, the true disposition
creates more problems than it solves. The privacy of the health care institutions has caused
affordability and access to become serious issues with this system. Additionally, those with lower
socioeconomic status fall short of the ability to access the same pool of resources as everyone else.
Due to the issues with affordability, access, and the poor infrastructure of the health care system, a
universal health ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These facts point out that the system currently at play is rather ineffective and therefore ought to be
changed. Money plays a huge role in access, therefore it is a vital issue to discuss. Within the current
system, lack of money results in lack of health care, which leaves thousands of people without any
health care coverage. Between 2001 and 2005, the number of people paying for health insurance
increased 30%, however income only raised 3% (Health Care Problems). Adequate income is a
necessity and unfortunately that is not present. According to the National Conference of State
Legislatures, the average annual premium across the country is $16,000. Currently, the average annual
income in the United States is $51,107. Mint Money Management suggests that about 4 6% of one s
total income should be spent on insurance, including life, disability, and health insurance. However,
the averages in the United States show that the average person spends about 31% of their income on
health insurance, which is not financially beneficial. When this rise in health insurance is not parallel
to the inflation of income, innocent people are left without a method to achieve health care. There is a
program for those who can t afford health insurance out of pocket nor have access to it, and that is
called Medicaid. Issues still exist with the program. There is only so much funding, which leaves
many still uninsured. Additionally, people with Medicaid have difficulty

Media s Impact On The Media
Most of us watch television or listen to the radio on our commute in order to be up to date with the
surrounding events. We depend on those sources of mass media to relay relevant and reliable
information in order for us to understand pressing issues and formulate our opinions pertaining to the
best approach in dealing with those issues. But what if the information relayed to us is biased and
skewed or worse yet if those sources of information divert attention away from pressing matters and
place the individuals in an oblivious state.
The fact of the matter is that news organizations are more trusted sources of information than are
many other institutions, including government and business. And the public s impression of the
national media ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He gave an example that in his book of when wall street journal ran a story about how the federal
safety officials were investigating an issue with certain GE airplane engines that had faulty parts that
can disintegrate and cause a catastrophic failure, a problem that affected more than four thousand
airplanes that transport thousands of passengers every day. The writer continues to state that he found
this information to be very important to the public and that it needs to be covered by the news channel
he worked for which was CNBC at the time, part of NBC network. But since NBC is owned by GE
the agency decided not to run the story.
Another persistent matter is the distraction and the diversion of public attention by the media, a
strategy that is used as the primary element of social control. Its sole goal is to drive attention away
from important issues and changes determined by the political and economic elites, by the technique
of flooding continuous distractions and insignificant information.
Noam Chomsky in his book Media Control, talks about how domestic programs of the administrations
of the past ten years have really no serious proposal about what to do about the severe problems of
health, education, homelessness, joblessness, crime, soaring criminal populations, jails, deterioration

When Native American families are looking for a great child care provider, they should apply for the

Lofton 2 boards were integrated into the rooms to give the children an early introduction to computer
technology. They also provide opportunities for hands on activities, which is a great way for children
of all ages to get in touch with the world around them. For example, in the one year old s wing the
teachers use the boards for music and sometime the Oklahoma City Zoo s animal cameras where the
teachers teach about the different types of zoo animals. But some parents have regards with SMART
boards being used in their child s room. For example, in the one year old rooms parents sometimes do
not want their children being introduced to technology at that early of an age. Which is not a good idea
at this time, technology is used everywhere and it is better to learn early on in life. Next, the facility
has immense safety precautions including locked doors, security cameras, good teacher to student
ratio, sign in and sign out sheets, and accident forms. In the Center every door must be locked at all
times. This prevents strangers from walking into the building and taking a child, as well as allowing
the teachers inside to see the person before they come into the room. Another safety precaution is
providing a security camera in every room that includes a built in microphone.Between this and the
student to teacher ratio the children are watched continually. The teacher to student ratio is as follows;

A recent study by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute estimates that texting and driving takes
away from the road for 4.6 seconds, the same amount of time it takes for a car to travel across a
football field at 55 miles per hour. Since there are both positive and negative factors in driving, we are
starting to realize more that driving can be extremely dangerous. This here shows that there are
multiple issues and causes as to why driving is becoming such a problem. Imagine if this was your

Reflection On Gender Socialization
Through this gender socialization exercise of analyzing how children learn about gender, provides a
sense of social structures and institutions are organized, created, and maintained in society. After
visiting a department store that separates children s clothes and toys by gender it gave me an eye
opening view how society shapes children s mind of what is acceptable for their own gender, and how
these patterns create an inequality between each group. From this group exercise, there was a obvious
division discussed between the two genders in terms of clothing and toys on a daily basis as these
children grow up with these patterns. It was such a normal thing to see that many overlook and never
really thought about the long terms effects it has on young children. While discussing with my group
about patterns that girls clothing are brighter and bolder in color that incorporate shapes like hearts
with an additional component of glitter and sequins. As for boys, there are limited to minimal pieces
with darker, and neutral colors that are made with better material. Girls toys can be easily spotted in
aisles, covered in pinks and purples; tons of dolls, and disney princesses. Boys had a variety of
vehicles and tools that can be utilized for indoors and outdoor playing. As we further discussed about
each question, I was surprised how much of an inequality there actually is, but society is moving
towards change and is overcoming the gender challenges that one would not necessarily be acceptable
in the past. I learned how much of an impact these social structures are applied at a young age and is
carried throughout as these children grow up with these aspects. Child development is very important
through observations of what is socially acceptable and how these patterns shape who they are as they
become adults. For girls, there are more opportunities to dress up, through the variations of clothing.
As applied to toys, not only girls just have a doll to play with, but accessories that go along with it
such as a doll house, and dress up accessories. Girls develop to become more nurturing and are
encouraged to be indoors, conforming to the stay at home wife that cleans, and has food on the table
when the husband

must have a female provider (Mclean et al., 2012). We had a patient scheduled with one of the male
physicians for the first obstetric appointment, where a physical exam would be completed. When the
patient arrived, her spouse informed the staff that she cannot be seen by a male provider. The male
physician was not familiar with this preference. He was frustrated because when this patient presents
to the hospital for delivery, there may not be a female on call to care for her. Fortunately, there was
another physician in clinic that day that could see her so the patient would not have the inconvenience
of being rescheduled. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

when they scheduled the appointment. They perceived this as going against their cultural beliefs. Also,

Tom Hanks, And Malala Yousafzai
Integrity and Success
What is the line between cheating and just helping out? Is there a hierarchy of honesty which places
people into categories based on the extent of their cheating? Whether or not there are different levels
of dishonesty, people often sacrifice their integrity in order to succeed. However, is this always the
best method of getting ahead in life? While it may be easier to excel in the professional world by
cheating, Tom Hanks, Simon Cowell, and Malala Yousafzai have proven that success can come from
being honest, and that one does not have to sacrifice his integrity to achieve.
Actors and celebrities may enjoy the spotlight constantly surrounding them, but their massive fame
and success never come without a backstory of hard work and dedication. While sometimes, fame
comes easier by cheating, being dishonest, and using unfair advantages to get ahead, there are some
celebrities whose brutal honesty and integrity have helped them gain fame and respect from their
followers. One prime example would be actor Tom Hanks, whose success in movies cannot be
understated. Hanks was ranked number one on the Forbes E Score list of most trustworthy celebrities
(Pomerantz). Due to his incredible honesty and trustworthiness, ... Show more content on

Although cheating can sometimes serve as a rapid catalyst for temporary success, it is almost never a
permanent solution to one s problems. Famous athletes like Lance Armstrong and Melky Cabrera have
gained temporary success by using less than honest methods to get ahead; however, these practices
came at the cost of their honor, reputation, and respect from fans. These people could have been just as
famous by using honest methods to excel, but they chose the easy way out and it eventually took its
toll. Success tastes sweeter when it is earned in an honest

Zappos
1. The original business model for Zappos was the drop ship model which is being the middle man
(Brady, 2010). The easiest way to think about a drop ship business model is to think about your own
retail web based or mail order business. In many ways they work the same. An order with payment
comes in, is processed and then shipped to the purchaser. In both your retail environment and in the
drop ship environment, the person receiving the package is your customer. The only difference to the
customer is that in the one instance, the product is shipped directly from your location and in the other
instance; the product is shipped from another location. (Steve, 2009). Over the past several years, drop
shipping has emerged as the go to strategy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We ve aligned the entire organization around one mission: to provide the best customer service
possible . At Zappos it s all about customer service and this was and still is their main strength. Zappo
is very good at applying the 4P s with the 4 C s that Porter talks about in our lecture. They even have
an application for smart phone to make sure that their customer can buy even with their phones. With
this model I believe that they can sustain their popularity and especially as long as they keep giving to
their customer s great experiences and products that they need for the best price. Last but not least, the
company trains and exposes all its recruits to customer service regardless of their position. They also
encourage innovation by motivating its employees to come up with passionate ideas which they go
ahead and which help the sustainability of its customer service implement (Milligan amp; Smith,
2011).
4. Zappos s new model that is based on loyalty and relationship marketing made the company make 1
billion $ in revenue in 2009. Zappos s new strategy of offering not just shoes but as well introducing
clothing and apparel to the site is definitely a great move knowing that the apparel market of is 4 times
the size of the footwear market Zappos s believe that in order to make its customers happy they should
first make their employees happy which they are succeeding at making Zappos among the best 100

Minimum Benefits Of Minimum Wage
Minimum wage is described as the minimum amount of remuneration that an employer is required to
pay wage earners for the work/services performed during a given tenure, which cannot be reduced by
collective agreement or an individual contract . Minimum wage can be established by statute,
competent decision authority, a wage board, a wage council, or by industrial or labour courts.
The significance of minimum wage is to shield workers against disproportionately low pay. They help
safeguard an equitable and just share of the fruits of progress to all, and a minimum living wage to all
who are employed and in need of such protection. Minimum wage can also be a part of a policy to
overcome poverty and reduce inequality, including those between ... Show more content on

This potential loss decreases both firms surplus and workers surplus. The increase in job search will
waste resources and time which contributes to the inefficiency of minimum wage.
Dead weight loss highlights the loss in possible employment, which could have been achieved by
labour market approaching equilibrium.
In both cases of minimum wage, there is an overall increase in labour supply and an overall reduction
in demand of labour. Hence, implementing or increasing minimum wage results in loss of jobs
theoretically. However, it also relies on the country s economic activity which may or may not result
in loss of jobs. Additionally, case 2 reflects the scenario wherein the government delivers
unemployment benefits to its unemployed citizens. In this case the dead weight loss is catered by the
government which in return puts a great deal of financial burden on the government.
Evaluating the Pros Cons of different essential elements associated with Minimum Wage:
Pros:
General population
Improved minimum living standards It facilitates the lowest paid strata of the society to desire for a
better standard of living.
Incentive to work It encourages unemployed population to find job, due of higher returns for their
labour.
Government
Decreases poverty It increases the income of the lowest paid in the society and avails them to increase
their income level.
Reduces Income inequality It aids in better distribution of income by compelling businesses to

A Review of the Doctrine of Agency by Necessity
INTRODUCTION: The doctrine of agency by necessity establishes that authority shall be assumed, in
a necessitous situation, by a person who acts in the interest of the principal. The Indian Contract Act
remains silent as to classification of the doctrine under any section, though many debate that it is to be
under the head of Section 189. This is an extremely ambiguous area in the law of agency, as there are
quite a few specific scenarios apart from the quintessential shipmaster , which are debatable as to
assumption of authority. In this paper, the concepts of the conditions prerequisite to the assumption of
authority shall be discussed, and then an analysis of the special situations of ambiguity with reference
to cases shall be addressed. ANALYSIS Normally, the authority conferred to an agent by his principal
stands as the limits, beyond which any action taken by the agent has no legal validity and makes the
agent liable. But if the circumstances are so demanding, such that the interests of the principal are at
stake due to a situation of emergency, the law confers certain extraneous rights on the agent which
empower him to take certain measures, even those extending to changing the legal position of the
principal, so as to protect the principal s interests. Even in such cases, there are some conditions to be
satisfied. These conditions are, (1) it must be impracticable for the agent to communicate with the
principal, (2) the act of the agent must be absolutely

Evolution Of Drug Resistant Mycobacterium Tuberculosis

Due date 4/27/2015
Title Evolution of drug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Introduction
Bacterial pathogen Mycobacterium tuberculosis causes tuberculosis a complex granulomatous disease
which is a global health concern. It is a very slow growing bacteria, thus is extremely time consuming
to culture in laboratory. It can survive the attack of the immune arsenal of our body; can successfully
hide inside the macrophage. This makes long periods of uninterrupted antibiotic treatment necessary
for the patients with tuberculosis and contributes to drug resistance very quickly [WHO 2014]. All this
poses an extreme challenge to the scientists and the medical community to develop effective drug,
monitor and treat this disease across globe. Before the discovery of anti tubercular drugs, this disease
was one of the most dreaded diseases. In absence of any drugs the only form of treatment
recommended was healthy diet, rest and fresh air. Patients were sent to Tuberculosis sanatorium
hoping that they might survive. The origin of this pathogen is traced back to Africa around 70,000
years ago and they successfully coevolved with humans as they migrated out of Africa and settled
across the globe. Nearly 10,000 years ago there was a sudden change in human demography and the
human population density increased suddenly, this is termed as Neolithic Demographic Transition.

Seminal Replication on Attention Blink
This study was a seminal replication on attention blink similar to the one done by Raymond et al, in a
rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP) task. This study predicted that there would be a higher
accuracy for identifying the first target, T1 and lower accuracy for the second target, T2 depending on
the lag, given that T1 was accurately reported. 193 students participated in the experiment. This
experiment was a part of the course requirement. There was a stream of 19 letters, each lasting for 100
ms. The target letters, T1 and/or T2, to be identified were either a J or a K or both from the stream of
19 letters presented. In this study, a total of 60 trials were conducted for each participant. For T1, there
were 30 J and 30 K targets. T2 comprised of 24 J, 24 K and 12 null targets. The participants were
asked to decide whether they saw the letters J, K, both or neither following the RSVP stream. They
were asked to do so by using a button click mechanism. At the end of all the trials, the participants
were presented with a summary of their performance report. It was observed that the percentage of T1
reported does not vary significantly as a function of lag. Also, the percentage of T2 reported varied as
a function of lag. At greater lag positions, it was seen that the percentage of T2 reported goes above
that of T1.

Bioorthogonal Reaction Lab Report
5. Bioorthogonal Click reactions
Click chemistry has wide applications in biotechnology and chemical biology. For use of such
reactions in the above disciplines of science, such click reactions need to be bioorthogonal. A
bioorthogonal reaction is one which takes place without interfering with native biochemical processes.
These type of reactions take place without interfering with components of the living system. The term
bioorthogonal chemistry was coined by scientist Carolyn Bertozzi in 2003 (Wikipedia)
Bioorthogonal click chemistry can be used to visulaize protein expression, track protein localization,
measure protein activity and identify protein interactions within living systems.(Singh et al., 2016)
Types of reactions that fit this definition are as follows
5.1 Condensations of Ketones and Aldehydes with Heteroatom bound Amines
Historically, the first bio orthogonal ligations involved ketone aldehyde condensation reactions.
While ketones and aldehydes can form reversible imine adducts with many amines found in biological
systems, this process is thermodynamically unfavourable in water.
This led to the use of hydrazides and aminooxy reagents, often called α effect amines because the
heteroatom bound amine is much more nucleophilic than simple amines and thus shifts the
equilibrium dramatically to the hydrazone and oxime products, respectively. ( book)
Although ketones and aldehydes are absent from the cell surface and from macromolecules within

The Role Of The Titans In Greek Mythology
The Titans had very important roles and contributions to Greek Mythology as it is known today. Many
have heard of Greek Mythology, but with very little Information and understanding of these certain
Greek Gods, who had a major factor in the rise of mysticism. Because of their certain powers and
upbringing, Titans had major roles in the society. Without having a major part in the formation , Greek
Mythology may have not been the same. The Titans originally consisted of twelve gods and goddesses:
Six male and six females, who were inherited by Gaea (Mother Earth) and Uranus (Father Jupiter).
The Titans were Kronos, Iapetus, Hyperion, Oceanus, Coeus, Creus, Theia, Rhea, Mnemosyne,
Phoebe, Tethys, and Themis. Kronus, the youngest among the Titans, overthrew his Father Uranus ,
which led him to become king and having his son Zeus betray him. ... Show more content on

Helios, Selene and Eos. Coeus and Phoebe had two: Asteria and Leto. Oceanus and Tethys had
Oceanids and Potamoi. However not all the siblings eloped. In fact, some of the original Titans eloped
with the second generation Titans or married others unrelated of their kind. Iapetus and Clymene

Regulation Framework Of Canada And Compliance
Regulation framework of Canada and compliance
Part 1
The current Canadian security regulation is managed by laws and agencies that have been established
by Canada s 13 provincial and territorial governments. Each of the province has its own security
regulator that is in charge of administration of the securities acts, regulations and rules. The idea of
setting up a national single security regulator has been suggested by various reports that have outline a
range of problems with the current system (Mark 121). The reports suggests that the current system
needs improvement and in a prompt manner. Concerns have been put forward that the current
regulation is too complex and is harmful to the security market operations. The current system has
also ben said to increase compliance costs hurting the Canadian market competitiveness (Mark 123).
In addition, the current regulatory system has been said to be slow to respond to changes in the
environment as there is need for agreement from all the thirteen authorities. The global security
market has also rendered its support for the establishment of a single regulatory system. However,
despite the problems and concerns over the current system in the last decade, the current system still
remains in place due to certain barriers if change to a centralized security regulatory system that exist.

Critical Analysis Of Richard III
Writer s statement
William Shakespeare s, Richard III explores the idea of power. It s shown how power corrupts and
controls characters throughout the play. There are many comparisons that could be drawn between
Richard III as Machiavellian leader as alluded to in the transformative piece. The main reason for this
is the extremes that Richard would go to, to assert himself in power. The transformative piece aimed
to explore how this influenced Richard s reception when elected into power. One of the main
motivations behind the characterisations of Richard in this transformative piece, is drawn from when
Richard announces in the original play, And therefore, since I cannot prove a lover, To entertain these
fair well spoken days, I am determined to prove a villain, And hate the idle pleasures of these days.
(1.1.??) From this quote the character of Richard had to be created to be cruel with no regard for the
things that make us human, this was done through how widely known his behaviour is in the article.
The Machiavellian idea is also drawn from Richard as he cannot prove a lover , which leads him to
draw on fear as a method of control. This speech is sinister yet incredibly determined, it acted as the
driving hand behind many of Richard s brutal actions, because whilst his actions are morally wrong,
he is working towards a goal. This idea laid the grounds for the investigation Richards s
determination.
The transformative is written in The Economists, which is well

Disadvantages Of Forensic Evidence
The difficulties I foresee with favoring a certain task force would be many different people in
choosing the team, which will also mean that many different people there will be many different
opinions. With different opinions there will be many different favors with any approach. By waiting
and listening to each of the opinions you will receive greater strengths. Sometimes time is crucial
make sure all officers are heard. The real difficulties would be local versus federal investigators

Typically, after an explosion there is a fire destroying so much evidence. By the explosion causing
fire, this minimizes the amount of analysis that can be collected. However, in the same hand there can
many different types of forensic evidence such as the scene, where it actually happened, the location
of the location. Such as a bathroom within a five bedroom home. Some details are irrelevant and some
can be used in court to argue strong points. Even if a fire designates investigators can still state
whether the explosion as a bomb, or if it was an accident. The investigators can look into things such a
gas leaks, flammable gas any evidence showing actual proof that the explosion was meant to be done
or merely an accident. The investigation for forensic evidence is always lengthy, but when an
explosion is being investigated, it is much lengthier. The steps for forensic evidence seems easy, but it
is actually more difficult when it is an explosion being investigated. Steps for handling forensic
evidence are as follows. Identify, collect, preserve, inventory, package and transport evidence to the
evidence room where the evidence will then sit. After the investigators make sure that all physical
evidence is collected, then they move onto analyzing all evidence

Implementation Of A Market Testing
Introduction Businesses over the years have learned from their mistakes, and make the necessary
adjustments within their organizations to eliminate the issues and prevent them from occurring again.
By conducting market testing, manufactures can collect input from the end user, then analyze the
information to determine the best location to place their products for purchase. The various demands
received by manufactures can be mind boggling and without proper handling it can lead to
devastation. Daily, manufactures deal with internal demands from their employees; from adjusting
work schedules to allow for vacations, to better healthcare insurance, or higher wages. Moreover,
companies receive demands from their distributors, requesting an increase in product production to
meet the demand from the retailers. Along with increase in production, there is demands for
transportation, which all of these demands affect the manufacture s bottom line and without proper
planning and budgeting, these demands may lead the manufacture out of business. Product distribution
is critical and when the product is not available it affects more than just the manufacture.
Understanding the direct and indirect approach for distributing a product along with choosing either
an extensive, intensive, or exclusive distribution channel will allow the product to reach the
distributor, retailer, and consumer all while making everyone in the supply channel happy. Question 1
Manufactures can choose who

Application Of Constructivist Grounded Theory
Following the underpinning philosophical perspectives mentioned earlier, the researcher decided to
choose qualitative research method, as theories are developed by people involving their routines daily
(Flick, 2009). This is very much related to the view of social constructionism view for the research. In
order to ensure the research to become rigorous and to achieve the comprehensible objective,
qualitative method will be a practical way of conducting research (Tracy, 2010). Studying
entrepreneurship makes it sensible for qualitative research method because it involves real world
situation (Yin, 2010) and contains collaboration with the community. This research will use case study
with the application of constructivist grounded theory method (Charmaz and Smith, 2003; Glaser et
al., 1968) as it intended to develop theory from the emerging themes and interests (Charmaz, 2008). It
is the most relevant method to apply as the researcher has similar background and interests with the
participants (Charmaz and Smith, 2003) plus similar passion making it highly impossible for her to
make use of the their background stories and natural proclivities (Mills et al., 2006). Charmaz (2008)
emphasises that Glaser and Strauss are both objectivists (Easterby Smith et al., 2012) and do not
comply with a subjectivist s view of research.
As Gioia and Chittipeddi (1991) assert in their study that interpretivism implies that the researcher
must be grounded in the culture of the

also had quite the effect on a large majority of other plant and animal species, to the point where no
tetrapod (four legged vertebrae) weighing above 25 kilograms survived. The original trigger is
believed to have been a massive comet or an asteroid impact, estimated at about ten kilometers in size,
but other theories suggest that volcanic eruptions, climate change, or sea level change played a role

However, recent speculation has lead many scientists to believe that we are currently in a mass
extinction period, one that could not only be bigger than any previous extinction event, but that
actually points a finger towards humans as being the main cause. This extinction event is known as
The Holocene Extinction, the Sixth Extinction or the Anthropocene Extinction, and whether we like it
or not, there is definitely a considerable amount of evidence to prove that this mass extinction is
happening, and that the cause is largely due to human activity. Specific research indicates that
deforestation, hunting, pollution, the introduction of non native species into various regions,
destruction of vast tracts of land, river systems, and habitats, and the widespread transmission of
infectious diseases spread through livestock and crops are having the most drastic effects on most
species. Current studies even show that the present rate of extinction may be up to 140,000 species per
year, making it the greatest loss of biodiversity since the Cretaceous Paleogene Extinction. Edward
Osborne Wilson, an American biologist, researcher, theorist, naturalist and author, calculated that if
the current rate of human disruption of the biosphere continues, one half of

  • 2. Media Impact On Entertainment The media is one of the biggest focal points of contemporary America s daily life and America is both blind and naive when it comes to media, but not in the sense that Americans don t know how to understand media, but separates itself from the reality of this fictitious medium. In Bill Moyers Free Speech For Sale, proof arises that media controls more than what most people think. Even though there is proof of media tampering and being overall very deceitful, most Americans decide to detach themselves from the reality of the situation. But entertainment isn t the only thing that s being manipulated to conform to the ideal message: actors and other public presences are filtered and this is seen in Marshall Mcluhan s Amusing Ourselves To Death. Even though media is very dishonorable, it still is astonishing because of the advancements in technology that is seen in the media today. Media has become the ruler of our entertainment. The dictionary describes media as the system and organizations of communication through which information is spread to a large number of people (Webster). But media is so much more than that. Now, it s a type of communication that focuses on bringing to people what really matters... Kylie Jenner s pregnancy and the imprisonment of Miles Teller. Now this might be important to the celebrities that are actually experiencing it, but does it really matter to you? Well, the big media corporations think you should care so they re going to make you care. That s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The most visited country in the world, France, has been through many terrorist attacks with its most recent being in Nice. • 4. The Oedipal Complex Literary Analysis Many stories include a child who vies for their parent(s) attention. One being, Oedipus, by Sophocles, where Oedipus rivals his father, who he believes is a stranger, to gain the attention of his wife/mother. The idea of a child, mostly boys, trying to gain their parent(s) (who tend to be a mother more often than a father) attention is known as The Oedipal Complex , created by Sigmund Freud. The Oedipal Complex , is a theory of a developing of feelings a boy develops towards his mother. He then is against his father, or another male figure with his mother, and has jealousy or anger towards the man. Eventually the boy tries to rival the man for attention from his mother. The Oedipal Complex is very prominent in the short story, The Rocking Horse Winner , written by DH Lawerence. One of the protagonists, Paul, develops the idea in which he should raise money for his mother, since she considers herself unlucky . The mother, Hester, believes she is unlucky because herself and her husband work low income jobs which are unable to support their lavish tastes. Therefore, Paul is introduced to horse racing by his gardener, Basset, who bids on who he believes will win the races. Paul tells Basset who he wants to bid on, and Basset would go and put the bid down for Paul. One day Paul was discussing his connection with his gardener with his Uncle Oscar. His Uncle Oscar took Paul to his first race, they both bidded on Daffodil, who won the race, afterwards Uncle Oscar is included ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Lucy And The American Dream Analysis A close study of the way Lucy by Jamaica Kincaid and the characters of Seven react to their encounters with the new world. Both stories are new immigrant literature and they both bring the past experiences or events to the present. In the book The American Dream by Jim Cullen he questions if the past is essential to your future or does it matter at all. Lucy is a story that describes a girl s experience in the new world, throughout the story she dealt with a great deal of controversy when having to adjust to the new world. The objective of this part of the book is Lucy compares everything to a troubling episode that happened back at her home. One of Lucy s first days in the new world she was excited to see sun shining her immediate thought was warm temperature which coming from a tropical zone she was used to the type of weather. A rude awakening appeared when she felt the cold air but the sun was still shining, But I did not know that the sun could shine and the air remain cold; no one had ever told me (Kincaid 5). Throughout the story Lucy is unsatisfied with just about every encounter with the new world, the first quote shows how differently Lucy sees the world. Lucy is brought to the United States to be a babysitter to the children of Lewis and Mariah and go to school at night. The family of the house was nice to Lucy, and she is surprised by this treatment saying that I should regard them as my family and make myself at home (Kincaid 7). Another person ... • 6. Essay On Digital Assistant Students primarily rely on professors and academic advisors to recommend a class schedule to them each semester. On the student side, it is assumed that this recommended schedule is moving them toward graduation while preparing them for career success. However, given that upper level classes in the CS/IT department at Clayton State University aren t always offered every semester, students can risk delaying graduation and not being fully career ready, by not doing enough of their own research into the classes they need. Being able to verify the researched class requirements against the advised class requirements is a crucial step in getting more students graduating from the CS and IT programs at Clayton State University. For this project, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [1] If a student, or an advisor makes a mistake in calculating the student s credits and pre requisites, or if the student has other issues with registration (course substitutions, department approvals, etc), the student is then forced to create more appointments with the advisor to get things on track for them. This process points to challenges in the academic advising model that leaves students disconnected from their education and can result in more dire consequences including delayed graduation. In the work of Luna, Gaye, et.al, the authors stated that E advising can establish a support system for rural graduate students by creating a means of accessibility and communication. Through e advising, rural graduates students have an opportunity to self direct and contribute to their own educational advisement needs. Universities can use e advising to foster successful students by creating more accessibility and communication. [2] While course work and advising at the graduate level has it s distinctions from advising at the undergraduate level, some core concepts still ring true. Advising through technology empowers the students to take charge of their education, and ensure their goals are being met according to their schedule. Though digital assistants aren t capable of filling the full role of a human academic advisor, giving students access to key, basic information will make all advising more effective. Flossing Healthy Dental Habits Include Flossing A Family Dentist in Red Deer Helps Instill Good Oral Hygiene in Children Getting your child started with a proper oral hygiene plan is critical to his or her health. In fact, even pre school age children may require oral surgery if they don t implement the right habits. By teaching your child to regularly brush and floss now, you can help him or her avoid many dental issues in the future. It is not unusual for a parent to doubt the necessity of flossing for a child. This could be a tragic mistake to make. If your child does not start flossing as early as possible, he or she could manifest preventable cavities. Additionally, neglecting to floss may result in gum disease and loss of adult teeth later ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Here are some tips on flossing from your local dentists: Why Flossing Is Important: Brushing every day is essential, but it isn t as effective as daily brushing and flossing. Although a toothbrush works to remove plaque, it cannot reach between the teeth or underneath the gums. Your child needs dental floss to access those areas. Neglecting to floss enables harmful bacteria to grow there. That growth may result in many oral health problems. Display a Chart: Children respond positively to visual cues, so consider hanging a printable flossing chart with a calendar in your bathroom. You can give your child a sticker to reward him or her for flossing on a daily basis. Let your child place the stickers on the calendar to reflect every flossing session. Floss with Your Child: To further promote this healthy habit, floss with your child every day. Show your child how to floss, and then, floss your own teeth along with him or her. • 8. Classification Of Student Learning Essay 4.2 Classification of student learning process To learn is to acquire knowledge or skill. Learning also may involve a change in attitude or behavior. Children learn to identify objects at an early age; teenagers may learn to improve study habits; and adults can learn to solve complex problems. Pilots and aviation maintenance technicians (AMTs) need to acquire the higher levels of knowledge and skill, including the ability to exercise judgment and solve problems. The challenge for the aviation instructor is to understand how people learn, and more importantly, to be able to apply that knowledge to the learning environment. This handbook is designed as a basic guide to educational psychology. This chapter addresses that branch of psychology directly concerned with how people learn. Human learning may occur as part of education, personal development, schooling, or training. It may be goal oriented and may be aided by motivation. The study of how learning occurs is part of neuropsychology, educational psychology, learning theory, and pedagogy. Learning may occur as a result of habituation or classical conditioning, seen in many animal species, or as a result of more complex activities such as play, seen only in relatively intelligent animals. Learning may occur consciously or without conscious awareness. Learning that an aversive event can t be avoided nor escaped is called learned helplessness. There is evidence for human behavioral learning prenatally, in which habituation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Essay about Health Care Reform in the United States Health Care Reform Health care has been an area of discussion for some time now. In the United States, the current health care system is a private system that allows individuals to choose their own method of care. Despite the freedom that comes with the independent nature of this type of health care system, the true disposition creates more problems than it solves. The privacy of the health care institutions has caused affordability and access to become serious issues with this system. Additionally, those with lower socioeconomic status fall short of the ability to access the same pool of resources as everyone else. These facts point out that the system currently at play is rather ineffective and therefore ought to be changed. Money plays a huge role in access, therefore it is a vital issue to discuss. Within the current system, lack of money results in lack of health care, which leaves thousands of people without any health care coverage. Between 2001 and 2005, the number of people paying for health insurance increased 30%, however income only raised 3% (Health Care Problems). Adequate income is a necessity and unfortunately that is not present. According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, the average annual premium across the country is $16,000. Currently, the average annual income in the United States is $51,107. Mint Money Management suggests that about 4 6% of one s total income should be spent on insurance, including life, disability, and health insurance. However, the averages in the United States show that the average person spends about 31% of their income on health insurance, which is not financially beneficial. When this rise in health insurance is not parallel to the inflation of income, innocent people are left without a method to achieve health care. There is a program for those who can t afford health insurance out of pocket nor have access to it, and that is called Medicaid. Issues still exist with the program. There is only so much funding, which leaves many still uninsured. Additionally, people with Medicaid have difficulty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But what if the information relayed to us is biased and skewed or worse yet if those sources of information divert attention away from pressing matters and place the individuals in an oblivious state. Another persistent matter is the distraction and the diversion of public attention by the media, a strategy that is used as the primary element of social control. Its sole goal is to drive attention away from important issues and changes determined by the political and economic elites, by the technique of flooding continuous distractions and insignificant information. Reflection On Gender Socialization Through this gender socialization exercise of analyzing how children learn about gender, provides a sense of social structures and institutions are organized, created, and maintained in society. After visiting a department store that separates children s clothes and toys by gender it gave me an eye opening view how society shapes children s mind of what is acceptable for their own gender, and how these patterns create an inequality between each group. From this group exercise, there was a obvious division discussed between the two genders in terms of clothing and toys on a daily basis as these children grow up with these patterns. It was such a normal thing to see that many overlook and never really thought about the long terms effects it has on young children. While discussing with my group about patterns that girls clothing are brighter and bolder in color that incorporate shapes like hearts with an additional component of glitter and sequins. As for boys, there are limited to minimal pieces with darker, and neutral colors that are made with better material. Girls toys can be easily spotted in aisles, covered in pinks and purples; tons of dolls, and disney princesses. Boys had a variety of vehicles and tools that can be utilized for indoors and outdoor playing. As we further discussed about each question, I was surprised how much of an inequality there actually is, but society is moving towards change and is overcoming the gender challenges that one would not necessarily be acceptable in the past. I learned how much of an impact these social structures are applied at a young age and is carried throughout as these children grow up with these aspects. Child development is very important through observations of what is socially acceptable and how these patterns shape who they are as they become adults. For girls, there are more opportunities to dress up, through the variations of clothing. As applied to toys, not only girls just have a doll to play with, but accessories that go along with it such as a doll house, and dress up accessories. Girls develop to become more nurturing and are encouraged to be indoors, conforming to the stay at home wife that cleans, and has food on the table when the husband ... In the film, it is planned that Eve shoots Roger with blanks and that they would meet elsewhere after Roger was pronounced dead. As Roger exits the car to meet Eve, the audience can see that compositionally the scene is divided down the middle. The trees in middle divides Roger s world from Eve s world. Hitchcock purposely had the scene set up to be parallel and symmetrical. Having Roger and his car on the left side and Eve and her car on the other side. In my opinion, I think the dominant in this scene would have to be Eve s white car. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In some cultural groups, religion dictates the care that is given and by whom (Pacquiao, 2016). The purpose of this paper is to discuss an ethical dilemma that I have encountered in my nursing practice and how the dilemma was perceived. Culturally congruent care will also be defined. Describe an Ethical Dilemma Working in obstetrics and gynecology, the patient population is all female. We see many Muslim patients from Arab countries. In any obstetric or gynecology scenario Muslim women must have a female provider (Mclean et al., 2012). We had a patient scheduled with one of the male physicians for the first obstetric appointment, where a physical exam would be completed. When the patient arrived, her spouse informed the staff that she cannot be seen by a male provider. The male physician was not familiar with this preference. He was frustrated because when this patient presents to the hospital for delivery, there may not be a female on call to care for her. Fortunately, there was another physician in clinic that day that could see her so the patient would not have the inconvenience of being rescheduled. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Is there a hierarchy of honesty which places people into categories based on the extent of their cheating? Whether or not there are different levels of dishonesty, people often sacrifice their integrity in order to succeed. However, is this always the best method of getting ahead in life? While it may be easier to excel in the professional world by cheating, Tom Hanks, Simon Cowell, and Malala Yousafzai have proven that success can come from being honest, and that one does not have to sacrifice his integrity to achieve. Actors and celebrities may enjoy the spotlight constantly surrounding them, but their massive fame and success never come without a backstory of hard work and dedication. Minimum Benefits Of Minimum Wage Minimum wage is described as the minimum amount of remuneration that an employer is required to pay wage earners for the work/services performed during a given tenure, which cannot be reduced by collective agreement or an individual contract . Minimum wage can be established by statute, competent decision authority, a wage board, a wage council, or by industrial or labour courts. The significance of minimum wage is to shield workers against disproportionately low pay. They help safeguard an equitable and just share of the fruits of progress to all, and a minimum living wage to all who are employed and in need of such protection. Minimum wage can also be a part of a policy to overcome poverty and reduce inequality, including those between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This potential loss decreases both firms surplus and workers surplus. The increase in job search will waste resources and time which contributes to the inefficiency of minimum wage. Dead weight loss highlights the loss in possible employment, which could have been achieved by labour market approaching equilibrium. In both cases of minimum wage, there is an overall increase in labour supply and an overall reduction in demand of labour. Hence, implementing or increasing minimum wage results in loss of jobs theoretically. However, it also relies on the country s economic activity which may or may not result in loss of jobs. Additionally, case 2 reflects the scenario wherein the government delivers unemployment benefits to its unemployed citizens. In this case the dead weight loss is catered by the government which in return puts a great deal of financial burden on the government. • 26. A Review of the Doctrine of Agency by Necessity INTRODUCTION: The doctrine of agency by necessity establishes that authority shall be assumed, in a necessitous situation, by a person who acts in the interest of the principal. The Indian Contract Act remains silent as to classification of the doctrine under any section, though many debate that it is to be under the head of Section 189. This is an extremely ambiguous area in the law of agency, as there are quite a few specific scenarios apart from the quintessential shipmaster , which are debatable as to assumption of authority. In this paper, the concepts of the conditions prerequisite to the assumption of authority shall be discussed, and then an analysis of the special situations of ambiguity with reference to cases shall be addressed. ANALYSIS Normally, the authority conferred to an agent by his principal stands as the limits, beyond which any action taken by the agent has no legal validity and makes the agent liable. But if the circumstances are so demanding, such that the interests of the principal are at stake due to a situation of emergency, the law confers certain extraneous rights on the agent which empower him to take certain measures, even those extending to changing the legal position of the principal, so as to protect the principal s interests. Even in such cases, there are some conditions to be satisfied. These conditions are, (1) it must be impracticable for the agent to communicate with the principal, (2) the act of the agent must be absolutely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Evolution Of Drug Resistant Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Aniruddha Acharya Term paper BIOL 554 Spring 2015 Instructor Dr. Don Ennis Due date 4/27/2015 Title Evolution of drug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Introduction Bacterial pathogen Mycobacterium tuberculosis causes tuberculosis a complex granulomatous disease which is a global health concern. It is a very slow growing bacteria, thus is extremely time consuming to culture in laboratory. It can survive the attack of the immune arsenal of our body; can successfully hide inside the macrophage. This makes long periods of uninterrupted antibiotic treatment necessary for the patients with tuberculosis and contributes to drug resistance very quickly [WHO 2014]. All this poses an extreme challenge to the scientists and the medical community to develop effective drug, monitor and treat this disease across globe. Before the discovery of anti tubercular drugs, this disease was one of the most dreaded diseases. In absence of any drugs the only form of treatment recommended was healthy diet, rest and fresh air. Patients were sent to Tuberculosis sanatorium hoping that they might survive. The origin of this pathogen is traced back to Africa around 70,000 years ago and they successfully coevolved with humans as they migrated out of Africa and settled across the globe. Nearly 10,000 years ago there was a sudden change in human demography and the human population density increased suddenly, this is termed as Neolithic Demographic Transition. This study predicted that there would be a higher accuracy for identifying the first target, T1 and lower accuracy for the second target, T2 depending on the lag, given that T1 was accurately reported. 193 students participated in the experiment. This experiment was a part of the course requirement. There was a stream of 19 letters, each lasting for 100 ms. The target letters, T1 and/or T2, to be identified were either a J or a K or both from the stream of 19 letters presented. In this study, a total of 60 trials were conducted for each participant. For T1, there were 30 J and 30 K targets. T2 comprised of 24 J, 24 K and 12 null targets. The participants were asked to decide whether they saw the letters J, K, both or neither following the RSVP stream. They were asked to do so by using a button click mechanism. At the end of all the trials, the participants were presented with a summary of their performance report. It was observed that the percentage of T1 reported does not vary significantly as a function of lag. Also, the percentage of T2 reported varied as a function of lag. At greater lag positions, it was seen that the percentage of T2 reported goes above that of T1. For use of such reactions in the above disciplines of science, such click reactions need to be bioorthogonal. A bioorthogonal reaction is one which takes place without interfering with native biochemical processes. These type of reactions take place without interfering with components of the living system. The term bioorthogonal chemistry was coined by scientist Carolyn Bertozzi in 2003 (Wikipedia) Bioorthogonal click chemistry can be used to visulaize protein expression, track protein localization, measure protein activity and identify protein interactions within living systems.(Singh et al., 2016) Types of reactions that fit this definition are as follows 5.1 Condensations of Ketones and Aldehydes with Heteroatom bound Amines Historically, the first bio orthogonal ligations involved ketone aldehyde condensation reactions. While ketones and aldehydes can form reversible imine adducts with many amines found in biological systems, this process is thermodynamically unfavourable in water. This led to the use of hydrazides and aminooxy reagents, often called α effect amines because the heteroatom bound amine is much more nucleophilic than simple amines and thus shifts the equilibrium dramatically to the hydrazone and oxime products, respectively. • 32. Critical Analysis Of Richard III Writer s statement William Shakespeare s, Richard III explores the idea of power. It s shown how power corrupts and controls characters throughout the play. There are many comparisons that could be drawn between Richard III as Machiavellian leader as alluded to in the transformative piece. The main reason for this is the extremes that Richard would go to, to assert himself in power. The transformative piece aimed to explore how this influenced Richard s reception when elected into power. One of the main motivations behind the characterisations of Richard in this transformative piece, is drawn from when Richard announces in the original play, And therefore, since I cannot prove a lover, To entertain these fair well spoken days, I am determined to prove a villain, And hate the idle pleasures of these days. (1.1.??) From this quote the character of Richard had to be created to be cruel with no regard for the things that make us human, this was done through how widely known his behaviour is in the article. The Machiavellian idea is also drawn from Richard as he cannot prove a lover , which leads him to draw on fear as a method of control. This speech is sinister yet incredibly determined, it acted as the driving hand behind many of Richard s brutal actions, because whilst his actions are morally wrong, he is working towards a goal. This idea laid the grounds for the investigation Richards s determination. The transformative is written in The Economists, which is well ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Implementation Of A Market Testing Introduction Businesses over the years have learned from their mistakes, and make the necessary adjustments within their organizations to eliminate the issues and prevent them from occurring again. By conducting market testing, manufactures can collect input from the end user, then analyze the information to determine the best location to place their products for purchase. The various demands received by manufactures can be mind boggling and without proper handling it can lead to devastation. Daily, manufactures deal with internal demands from their employees; from adjusting work schedules to allow for vacations, to better healthcare insurance, or higher wages. Moreover, companies receive demands from their distributors, requesting an increase in product production to meet the demand from the retailers. Along with increase in production, there is demands for transportation, which all of these demands affect the manufacture s bottom line and without proper planning and budgeting, these demands may lead the manufacture out of business. Product distribution is critical and when the product is not available it affects more than just the manufacture. Application Of Constructivist Grounded Theory Following the underpinning philosophical perspectives mentioned earlier, the researcher decided to choose qualitative research method, as theories are developed by people involving their routines daily (Flick, 2009). This is very much related to the view of social constructionism view for the research. In order to ensure the research to become rigorous and to achieve the comprehensible objective, qualitative method will be a practical way of conducting research (Tracy, 2010). Studying entrepreneurship makes it sensible for qualitative research method because it involves real world situation (Yin, 2010) and contains collaboration with the community. This research will use case study with the application of constructivist grounded theory method (Charmaz and Smith, 2003; Glaser et al., 1968) as it intended to develop theory from the emerging themes and interests (Charmaz, 2008). It is the most relevant method to apply as the researcher has similar background and interests with the participants (Charmaz and Smith, 2003) plus similar passion making it highly impossible for her to make use of the their background stories and natural proclivities (Mills et al., 2006). Charmaz (2008) emphasises that Glaser and Strauss are both objectivists (Easterby Smith et al., 2012) and do not comply with a subjectivist s view of research.
