Florida Football Game Analysis
I wrote a couple weeks ago the five pivotal games for Florida which you can read here, (Florida
Football: 5 Pivotal games for Gators in 2017). I ranked Tennessee at #5 and didn t think this was
a must win football game. As we saw a year ago, losing your first SEC matchup didn t dictate the
rest of the season. Unfortunately, things have changed and I firmly believe this is a must win
ballgame.
The Gators falling to Michigan and then not having the ability to play week two switched my
perspective on this game. As Jim McEwlain said, Defending SEC East champs. It goes through
here and it goes through Gainesville. With the SEC East race completely up for grabs, whichever
team walks off the field Saturday with a win is in a very good position. ... Show more content on

Government Shutdown Research Paper
Trust and the U.S. Federal Government Shutdown
Amy Price
Arizona State University
Abstract
This trust paper explores the 2013 United States Federal Government shutdown incident along with
the trust theory as it relates to this issue. The more recent shutdown was contributed to the split
party lines and Congress resisting to pass a budget with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in place.
Trust between government and constituents have been a long struggle as public servants work to
build trust after an issue like the Federal Government shutdown occurs. The research provided in
the paper analyzes theories on the reasons for the lack of trust and how public servants can build
trust. Not only does trust involve the political environment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Egoism Vs Egoism
What motivates individuals to do the things they do well, it is based fundamentally on their
morality. Our moralities are the actions and beliefs we consider to be right or wrong. Our
everydaydecisionsare determined by these morals. Moralityrefers to a code of conduct that applies
to all who can understand it and can govern their behavior by it(Gert). An individuals morality is
shaped by the way they view his or her own interests and weigh it in comparison to the interests of
others. Those that value their own interests over others are known as egoist. Egoismis an ethical
theory that treats self interest as the foundation of morality. However, egoism is divided into
two,one known as ethical egoismand the other is psychological egoism. The two revolve around the
idea of self interest. These types of egoist value their own interests over others. However, many of
people have egotistic interior motives as helping others in the interest of our own.Humankind has
the natural tendencies to grow, develop, and be the best they can be is in respect to their interests.
After an individual discovers his or her own interests they learn what it takes to succeed and satisfy
their interests. Maslow defines human tendencyisto strive for growth, autonomy, identity and the
excellence of self actualization(Abraham Maslow). Individuals instinctively strive to become better
based on their interests. Therefore, as individuals, we naturally wish to excel or be exceptional, to

A Fluorescent Mirna Sensor For The Study Of Exrna And Drug...
A Fluorescent miRNA Sensor for the Study of exRNA and Drug Delivery
Abstract: Increasing evidence suggests cell to cell communication is possible through
extracellular RNAs (exRNAs). RNA (including mRNA, miRNA, or lincRNA) has, on many
accounts, been found packaged inside extracellular vesicles (EVs) which may traverse through a
variety of bodily fluids to be taken up by a recipient cell. The biological significance of exRNAs is
largely unknown. However, preliminary studies suggest they may play a role in a variety of
important biological processes, including stem cell maintenance, apoptosis, and cancer metastasis.
Furthermore, there is much hope in eventually utilizing EVs as a drug delivery vector to supply
damaged tissues with therapeutic RNAs. Such a system could overcome the immunological
challenges associated with viral vectors. Advances in understanding the biology of exRNA
transfer have been hindered by a lack of dynamic methods for detecting changes in RNA
concentration in vivo. Northern blotting, microarray, and PCR based approaches are invasive,
and sometimes lack sensitivity when dealing with small quantities of RNA. While evidence of
their significance is growing, to date no exRNA has been shown to enter and function in a cell in
vivo. To address these issues, I have been working on the development of a sensor system for
detecting exogenous small RNAs. This molecular sensor will exploit the ability of microRNAs
(miRNAs) to bind to, and repress, target

The Rood
The Dream of The Rood: lines 94 120 The Dream of The Rood is a religious poem written in the
time of the Anglo Saxons. It is unknown who the author is as well as the date in which the poem
was written. The poem first appeared in a late tenth century Old English manuscript consisting of
poems and sermons. The poem may have come before the actual manuscript. Parts of the poem
were carved in a stone crossat some time after its construction early in the eighth century. This
speech occurs in lines 94 to 120. Before this selected passage the poem is opened with the
Dreamers visions of the Cross, also known as the Rood, which lays out the poems plot. In the
poem the person that is telling the story is a dreamer who, while admiring, the cross notices... Show

This refers to the point of the whole poem which is redemption. To be able to reach the point of
being redeemed the passage says, who bears the best/ sign on his breast (line 117). This line is
saying that whoever whole heartedly believes in Christ and appreciates what he did for the
people they can obtain eternal life therefore being redeemed. This passage gives a major theme
for the whole poem. It tells what Christ did for the sins of people who did not even care for
Him. The beginning of the poem is about the beginning of someone s spiritual life where they
are just being introduced to Christ and the end being redeemed. This passage is the part in the
poem that connects the beginning with the end. For people uncertain in what they believe about
Christ this passage can give someone the act of being redeemed as it did for the Dreamer at the
end of the poem. LANGUAGE: This passage is written in prose form. There is a change of
diction in this passage of the poem. Throughout the poem the diction has changed, in this passage
it is using more influential words as a preacher would use in a sermon. The formal element of
diction used in this passage shows the importance of what is being told. It reveals in the whole
passage that the Cross is just a symbol that represents what is most important

Character Conflict in Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire
Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire is a play wrought with intertwining conflicts
between characters. A drama written in eleven scenes, the play takes place in New Orleans over
a nine month period. The atmosphere is noisy, with pianos playing in the distance from bars in
town. It is a crowded area of the city, causing close relations with neighbors, and the whole town
knowing your business. Their section of the split house consists of two rooms, a bathroom, and a
porch. This small house is not fit for three people. The main characters of the story are Stella and

There are many external events alluded to through the text. It is hinted that the start of Blanche
s insanity was when she found out that her husband was a homosexual. Stella leaves Belle Reve,
and Blanche is stuck to take care of their dying kin, while losing their family home. Before
Blanche arrives in New Orleans, she is fired from her teaching job because the entire town
knows of her as a whore. This is also what ruins her in New Orleans because the manager at
Stanley s job has passed through the hotel she used to live in. The internal events of the play
begin with Blanches arrival. Immediately, Stanley assumes that Blanche sold Belle Reve for
money, and believes that a share of it belongs to him. In an argument Stanley hits Stella, and
Blanche uses it as an excuse to lure Stella away. Mitch and Blanche begin dating, and decide that
they will wed. When Stanley finds this out he informs Mitch as a friend of Blanche s past, and
breaks up the engagement. Stella goes to the hospital to have her baby, and while she is there
Stanley and Blanche have a fight, which ends with sexual relations. After Stella returns from the
hospital, a nurse and a doctor come to take Blanche away. Mitch begins to cry, showing that he
really did love her.
Reversals are common in this play. Mitch goes from wanting to marry Blanche, to calling the
wedding off. Stanley goes from hating Blanche to fooling around with her, which could be

Have you ever been tapped to make an impromptu group presentation with a half hour s notice?
When is the last time someone asked you for a brief update on the status of an upcoming project in

Did you ever stand up in the heat of a membership meeting where negativity prevailed and asked

These scenarios require you to think on your feet give an impromptu speech if you do not want to

A well prepared presentation is possible at the last minute. Be the envy of your organization and

You can apply the same mantra to impromptu presentations. Sear the basic structure of a
presentation into your memory and volunteer to give speeches on the spot. The more you practice
giving impromptu presentations, the more comfortable you become doing so. Just as people
trained to respond to emergencies at a moment s notice, you will be able to respond with a solid
presentation at a moment s notice.
Consider the following key points as well as how to best communicate the content that is necessary
for the requested presentation.
Please With Threes
A lesson I teach early in my presentation skills workshops, and that I learned in school and in
Toastmasters clubs, is to please with threes . Otherwise called the rule of threes, this means that you
create a presentation using a speech structure that consists of three main components: an opening, a
body, and a closing. Manage these three major parts of a presentation and your speech will be
organized every time.
Get Off on the Right Foot
Develop an attention grabbing opening. On short notice, few people expect you to be witty or
humorous. Typically, last minute presenters are expected to address a specific issue or concern.
Implement the following techniques, however, and you just might come across as witty and
instantly engaging in spite of your last minute

The Pros And Cons Of Net Neutrality
We all know the Internet, and use it in daily basis like entertainment and work, and many other
types of usage for the Internet, and we use it freely with almost no boundaries that s what s called
Net Neutrality
. The F.C.C. (Federal Communication Commission) is trying to take that freedom away from all
users and consumers in the United States by limiting accessibility, and speed for all type of
consumers of the
Internet by repealing the Net Neutrality which will allow the ISPs (Internet Service Provider) to
have more control over the Internet usage of the consumers. According to the chairman of the
F.C.C. Ajit Pai a former lawyer for Verizon, that repealing Net Neutrality will increase the ISP s
profit and improve the service quality they provide for the consumers. A lot of people showed
their disagreement over the issue, and followed by many disappointment and disapproval of big
characters, companies and websites. While ISPs are regulated right now to treat everyone equally
and fairly, Trump s administration and the F.C.C. s goal is to repeal the Net Neutrality, and give
control of the Internet to the ISPs in the U.S., even though the consumers do not support the repeal
and protested against it for various reasons, but the F.C.C. still want to give the ISPs control of the
Internet to increase their income, and have more privileges over the Internet.
Many people are not aware of what s going to happen after the repeal of Net Neutrality, and

Creation Of Enkidu And Genesis Similarities
Creation stories are symbolic accounts of how the world and its inhabitants came about. These
stories first developed in oral traditions, so there are multiple accounts of them from different
cultures and societies. The Babylonian Creation story, the Genesis Creation story, and the Sumerian
story of the Creation of Enkidu are examples of these and the similarities are interesting. As Dennis
Bratcher states, Because of many parallels with the Genesis account, some historians concluded that
the Genesis account was simply a rewriting of the Babylonian Story. As a reaction, many who

In the Genesis story, God creates man in his own image and likeness. There are different
versions of the Genesis bible. In one of these versions, it is said that humans were made from
clay. One difference of the creation stories is that the Sumerian and Babylonian people have
many gods, but the Hebrew people have only one god. In all of these stories, only one god
creates man. The Hebrew God can never die. He is immortal. The gods in the Babylonian and
Sumerian story can be defeated. The gods in the Sumerian and Babylonian stories are like the
man that the Hebrew god created. Man, that is born of woman, is of few days and full of trouble.
Like a flower he comes forth and is withered; he flees like the shadow and does not endure (Job
14:1 2).
In the Babylonian creation story, man was made of the blood of Kingu who was a troublesome
god who was killed for the purpose of his blood. He was created primarily in order to serve the
gods and free them from the need of working for their bread. In the Genesis creation story, man
was made to rule over the animals and creatures of the earth. In the Sumerian creation story of
Enkidu, it is said that he was created solely for the purpose of balancing Gilgamesh out so Uruk
could finally have peace. The people suffer from his tyranny, the people cry out that he takes the

Why Do Not Football Helmets Promote Neck Injuries Essay
The goal of this project is to work towards answering the question of whether or not football
helmets promote neck injuries. In order to gather data, a U of R team made a machine that rapidly
changes speed while translating from side to side to stimulate a rotational acceleration and velocity
about the head and neck due to an angular displacement. The purpose of this machine is to simulate
an unexpected and sudden change in motion of the head in order to analyse the resulting motion.
The data collected was the rotational position of the head, the linear position of the cart, and the
linear position of a point on the body. All measurements were made with and without a helmet. In
order to answer the main question, there had to be a further understanding of how the mechanics of
the head and neck change with the addition of a helmet. To achieve this, MATLAB was used to
compute the resulting velocities and accelerations, the reaction forces at the neck, and the moment
about the base of the neck. From these calculations, it is possible to make observations about how
the addition of a helmet affects the dynamics of the head and neck. The code is structured with a
script of general input data such as the given data and labels for plots. All of the given position data
was corrected to start at position zero for better comparison between the positions with and without
the helmet. The information was then passed into a function that converted all data into the desired
units, computed

Susan Blackmore s Essay Strange Creatures
Stop. Look around. Everything around you becomes an integral part of how you live your life.
These unique surroundings that encompass individuals possess a power similar to a triggering
chemical catalyst which can cause a chemical reaction to happen that normally would not. This
power that the surroundings of an individual holds exists in the form of cues and these cues act on
the behavior of every individual in society. The cues hold an inherent role on how human behavior
is controlled. In Susan Blackmore s essay Strange Creatures she explains the imitative intricacies of
how human behavior exists through her meme theory. In a similar attempt to explain behavior,

This imitative behavior is a meme because when you imitate someone else, something is passed

type of manner towards Goetz. These individuals came from a rough background where this
type of behavior was prominent which is where the imitation process described occurred for
each of these individuals. This type of behavior being replicated is explained by the Broken

The Health And Human Services Commission
Texans are being short changed by the proposed Medicaid cuts. Legislature has told the Texas
Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) that they must cut $350 million from the
Medicaid funding over the next two years. In order to abide by the legislature s demands, the
HHSC has proposed cutting the reimbursement rates for pediatric physical and occupational
therapists on average by 10 to 25 percent. And pediatric speech therapists would face cuts of 16 to
27 percent. Many feel that these cuts to the therapypayments have little to no effect on the services
that children with disabilities receive. These individuals say that following the orders will assist in
reducing the therapy rates and will reduce the practice of excess therapy. On the opposing side, it
has been expressed that cutting therapy funds that the Stateof Texasprovides has the potential to
cause individuals within the pediatric population to lose crucial therapy services. The planned
cuts have the risk to jeopardize the potential of our nation s young. The cuts also make many
agency s that currently provide occupational, physical and speech therapy vulnerable to closures
and lay offs. The people that are promoting the cuts to the Medicaid funding for providers that
offer occupational, physical and speech therapy feel that the reductions are necessary to curve tale

Carpenters have been on the earth since the dawn of time quite literally. Carpentry is a skilled trade
in which the primary work performed is the cutting, shaping and installation of building materials

Carpentry in the United States is almost always done by men. Carpentry was made for men, it was
the fourth most male dominated occupation in the country. Carpenters are the hardest working

Walt Disney World Comparative Essay
Comparative Essay I m a big fan of the Walt Disney Company and its many theme parks. In this
essay I plan to compare some differences in Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in
California. As I just stated the first comparison involves the locations of the parks and their size.
Walt Disney World is located in Orlando, Florida and opened its door in 1971 and covers about 43
square miles (Dayao, 2014) (WDW Currently is undergoing some major expansions) WDW is
massive and it houses 4 Theme Parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, and Disney s

Essay on Six Social Classes in the United States Today
During my research, I have found that depending on where you look there are a variety of Social
Classes in the United States. The most obvious and probably the best known are the six social
classes primarily used in the United States today. Below, I have compiled some facts that help
describe and support each class.
Upper Class
The upper class makes up about one percent of the U.S. population, generally consists of those who
have inherited wealth from their families, this is also known as old money.
New Money
The new money class is relatively new on the social class ladder and makes up about fifteen percent
of the U.S. population. New money includes people whose wealth has only been around for a
generation or two.
Middle Class
The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Poverty Level
The poverty level class lacks the means to meet their basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter.
The poverty level is currently about $18,000 per year.
These classes have become even more apparent in today s tough economy. There are many
families and individuals that were once in a higher class, which have been forced to a lower
class due the declining economy. This is known or felt by Americans watching today s struggling
economy. Due to the economy failing, it has caused most industries to cut back on production and
has caused a decline in the working force. In turn, this has caused a ripple effect to almost every
business across America. A simple analogy to help support this would be; the auto industry is not
producing the amount of vehicles that they have in the past. This, in turn means that they don t
need the volume of tires that they have. Now, this causes problems for the tire maker. If the tire
maker, doesn t have a demand then they don t need as many employees and causes the tire maker
to make drastic cuts to its personnel. And the ripple effect continues on down the line causing
further layoffs; not only for the tire maker, but also for their suppliers.
The moral of this is; once employees start getting laid off and the demand doesn t rise, a
corporation will eventually have no choice but to thin out some of its top executives. Most top
executives are more than likely in the upper

The Colonists Did NOT Have Adequate Cause for the American...
Were the Colonists Justified in Their Rebellion against England? Yes Did the Colonists Have an
Adequate Cause for Revolution? No
Starting after the termination of the Seven Year s war, by the Peace of Paris, England repeatedly
violated the American Colonists rights. A series of events, happening between 1763(ending of the
Seven Years war) and 1775 (starting of the revolution), could be taken as motives for the American s
revolution. The Americans claimed that through both, the Sugar Act (1764) and the StampAct
(1765), the British dishonored their rights to taxation. The Townshend Acts also infuriated the
Americans, and as in all other circumstances, they were willing to fight for their rights. The final
justification for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Americans surely refused when asked, by the parliament to revoke the circular letter passed by
the Massachusetts assembly. This created more unity among the colonies, which added to the Acts,
were one more justification for their rebellion.
The Coercive Acts, passed in 1774, were the biggest justification for the revolution. They were
known as the Intolerable Acts. The Acts closed the port of Boston, restructured the Massachusetts
government, allowed British officials to be tried in court in either Canada or Europe, and allowed
troops to be quartered wherever needed. The Americans felt that all these were violations of their
rights and that they had been forced to obey laws that violated their rights.
All the above decribed Acts and laws, were a justification for the revolution. However, they are
not valid causes for the rebellion. Considering that the main justification for the revolution was the
passing of the Coercive Acts, these Acts, were only passed because of the Boston Tea party. The
Americans might have said that they were full of all the taxes, and that Englang went too far with
the Tea Act. However Most of the taxes the Americans paid, were much lower than the taxes the
Britsh paid over the same goods.
Ultimately, the colonists were justified in their rebellion against England. However they did not
have an adequate cause for revolution.

The Equity Method Records Dividends
3. The equity method records dividends received from an investee as a reduction in the investment
account, not as dividend income to avoid reporting the income from the investee twice. The equity
method is used when an investor has the ability to significantly influence over the operating and
financing decisions of an investee. Because dividends represent financing decisions, the investor
may have the ability to influence dividend timing. If dividend were record as revenue managers
could affect reported income in a way that does not reflect actual performance.

Brooks must be record by Einstein as a reduction in the book value of the investment account.
Lastly, amortization entries of specific allocations within the purchase price must be record up to

resulting gain or loss.
b. How Einstein accounts for this investment after August 1 depends on if significant influence is

The Importance Of Cellular And Cellular Signals Regulating...
After thickening of chamber walls during cardiac embryogenesis, oxygen and nutrients can no
longer be passively diffused into cardiac cells, therefore, a primitive vascular develops to supply
these vital resources. The plexus then further matures into coronary arteries and veins which
ensures continued development of the heart. However, the vasculogenesis of these coronary blood
vessels is not fully understood and has been a topic of intense research and debate. Over time,
various models have been proposed, indicating the importance of cellular and molecular signals
regulating vascularization of the embryonic heart. Interestingly, research has highlighted the
contribution of extra cardiac cells which migrates and differentiates in the heart.
Keywords: Vasculogenesis, angiogenesis, embryogenesis, VEGF, anatomical variations.
Introduction Much of what is known about the origin of cells that make up the coronary vascular
network comes from immuno histochemical analyses, quail chick chimera experiments, retroviral
labelling, gene targeting experiments and, more recently, lineage tracing studies. Interestingly, not a
single cell that makes up the coronary system of the heart arises from the heart. All of this happens
without ever tapping into the blood that courses through the primitive heart tube (Mu et al., 2005;
David et al., 2002). Within the past two decades much progress has been made into elucidating the
molecular principles initiating and regulating coronary vessel

Abstract
This study investigated the possible relationships between primary and secondary psychopathy and
cognitive empathy.
Is Primary and Secondary Psychopathy Strongly Related to Cognitive Empathy?
Described as a social disorder, psychopathy is a field that has been extensively researched and we
have discovered that it consists of two distinctive subtypes; primary and secondary. There are some
similarities between these two subtypes however a distinction can be made through a subject s
characteristics and traits. Both primary psychopathy (PP) and secondary psychopathy (SP) are
associated with impulsivity, aggression, social isolation due to a lack of convergence with the
social norm , superficial charm and poor behavioural control but primary psychopaths are more
often characterised as callous, manipulative, extremely selfish with a diminished capacity for
remorse and routinely untruthful, where secondary psychopaths are more introverted, socially
anxious with low self esteem (Blackburn Fawcett, 1999). Empathy is essentially the capacity or
ability to understand and share another person s mental experience. Cognitive empathy, is often
referred to as Theory of Mind (ToM) and is conceptualised as the ability to understand and infer the
emotions and

Achilles Reflection Paper
The gates of Troy drew the strongest of men who wish to fight to gain treasures and respect.
Among these men is the great warrior, Achilles, son of the Goddess Thetis. Achilles is the
strongest of the Achaean men, full of honor, self pride, and dignity. In Homer s The Iliad, Achilles
fights to take back his honor, crippled by the loss of his treasures, to prove his worth to the army
and to Agamemnon, and to take revenge on Agamemnon for being selfish, controlling, and for
diminishing Achillesimage. Honor is the fundamentals of a man in this time period. A man who
has honor has things to prove he is a strong and capable man. For the past nine years, the Archean
army has been slowly traveling to Troy, raiding towns and villages as they passed through.
Before the journey, Menelaus wife Helen was given to Paris by Aphrodite, causing the Archean
to lose his honor wife, treasure, and possession. After promising to help his brother, Agamemnon
brought his army to Troy to recover Helen and Menelaus honor. Achilles, being the best fighter,
was unwillingly brought along because it was his duty to do so, as his King, Agamemnon,
requested it. Through unfortunate events, they were stopped by the father of Chryseis, who
begged for his daughter s return. Consequently, Agamemnon was forced to give up his war prize,
taking Achilles to compensate. Enraged, taken advantage of, and without his honor, Achilles
swore at Agamemnon for being a horrible person. No, you colossal, shameless we follow you, to
please you, to fight for you, to win your honor back from the Trojans (Homer 82). Achilles feels
like he does all the dirty work and gets no pay for it. With his honor stamped upon and feeling
worthless, he threatens to leave to make them see just what he does for them. What is an
honorable man, if not a worthy one? Or a worthy one, if not honorable? The pride of Achilles, his
honor, and valor, have been stamped upon. He is a doormat, something that can easily be flattened
and walked over, and it is diminishing. After losing his prize out to Agamemnon, Achilles reflects
on how he is stronger, better, and more fit to be a King. Notwithstanding the fact that Agamemnon
holds a scepter given to him by a god does

1.a)
Copper is formed by metallic bonds. This is because it is formed by a strong attraction between the
closely packed positive metal ions and because these are surrounded by delocalised electrons to
form outer shells. Due to this, we can also deduce that its structure is a Giant Metallic Lattice,
meaning that it has a high melting and boiling point, conducts electricity and is insoluble.
Bromine formed by covalent bonds in between two bromine atoms, since bromine is a diatomic
element. Each bromine atom shares one electron with each other, in order to complete their outer
shell. Its structure is Simple Covalent Lattice, meaning that its melting and boiling point are low.
Due to the weak forces of attraction between the molecules. b)i) E ii) C iii) F iv) B
2.Ferr examples: Ferrell, Ferredoxin, Ferromagnetically, Ferrocene, Ferret, Ferrous, Ferric,
Ferrocyanide.
The prefix Ferr means that something contains iron.
phile examples: Amphiphile, Paedophile, Electrophile, Nucleaphile, Hydrophile.
The suffix phile means that there is an attraction to something. For example if chlorine is
hydrophile (hydro means water or liquid), it means that it has a tendency to interact with water or
dissolve in it.

Pros And Cons Of The Death Penalty
The Death Penalty The death penalty has become an extremely pressing issue in our culture today.
Both sides of the argument make very valid points. On one side the death penalty could potentially
make citizens feel more safe, and on the other hand people can argue that us as mere humans do not
have the authority to play God. I believe the death penaltyshould be abolished for a variety of
reasons; our government is a broken system, a proposed law would not end all murders, and we, as
humans, should not have the authority to determine whether someone lives or dies. In the article

He loves and cherishes His people, and because we bear His image He is a God of justice. When
Jesus died on the cross He fulfilled the old law, or the Old Testament; when his blood was shed it
pardons us from a spiritual death penalty. When reading the New Testament it is full of new
framework; rather than constant justice, there is grace and mercy. The New Testament calls out
hypocrisy. For example, in John 8:2 11 Jesus shows His followers and disciples that we no longer
need to condemn others for a sin that they are in, because we have not removed the plank in our
own eye.
At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and

Similarities Between The Crucible And Candide
Representations of people and politics are often contextually influenced. Authors portray their
political perspective through the representations within texts, often giving rise to evident conflict
between an individuals conscience and political control. Such is encapsulated in Arthur Miller s
1952 play The Crucible ; a transhistorical allegory of the Salem witch trials. Correspondingly, in the
novel Candide , Voltaire attacks political manipulation of the18th century theocratic Movement of
Enlightenment . Both authors present their political speculations through exploration of an
individuals moralitywithin the restraint of a theocratic society. Such is explored through core
themes of representation of good and evil and the power of individual conscience.
All political actions, despite malleability to individual interpretations, are at their core, motivated
by the desire or need for ultimate control of a conformist society. Representations of the
dichotomy of good and evil are expressed in the texts. Both the Crucible by Miller and Candide by
Voltaire explore the ways in which values are manipulated, and imposed upon the people, to fuel
political motives and achieve public conformity/ultimate control. In a dramatisation of man s
corruption, Miller represents political motivations as a surrendering of moral and legal justice to
fulfil personal agendas. He criticises the political powers of the McCarthy Era when the widespread
fear of the communism witch hunt arose.

The Significant Effects Of Imperialism And Colonization...
Imperialism and colonization caused several effects around the world. Some of these effects
have left behind a legacy that goes on to this day. The continent of Africa was one of the most
attractive areas to colonize for Europe. In a time period between 1870 s and 1900 s Europe
colonized Africa due to the industrial revolution they distributed African lands in order to gain raw
material. The lands within Africa were distributed using the order of imperialism, each country
required permission in order to obtain the land. These lands were extremely useful because of the
massive quantity of natural resources such as gold, iron, cobalt etc. There were several
distinguished countries during the imperialism; a country that definitely holds legacy within

Sexual Assault And Rape During The Civil War
Not only is sexual assault an ongoing issue in society, but there has also been a huge up rise of
sexual assaults in the United States military. Recently women have been given the approval to
fight on the front line in the Special Forces career field that was once male only career fields. For
women, this may be a huge achievement; there are so many risks and fears involved, I would be
curious to see how things turn out. Sexual assaultand rapehave been major issues in the military that
is constantly looked at by Congress for improvements.
Presently women are sacrificing their lives serving this country in all branches of the military in
the United States. Women are more involved in combat situations since the war began in
Afghanistan and Iraq. With the increase of women in the military came the increase of sexual
violence. In the beginning, very few reports of sexual violence were reported; over time the
number of reported cases became a huge issue that brought awareness to those that work with the
President of the United States. At that moment, processes were being looked at; changes needed
to be made to find ways to give confidence to victims, to feel safe enough to report the crime of
sexual violence. The Department of Defense is currently working on measures to alleviate the
problem. Sex crimes on women in the military can have intense effects on their mental, physical
and emotional well being. Sexual harassment and sexual assault also extends to include

The Bus Stop Killer By Geoffrey Wansell
Below is a review of The Bus Stop killer published by Penguin Books in 2011, written by
Geoffrey Wansell. It recalls the eventful murders of Milly Dowler, AmГ©lie Delagrange and
Marsha McDonnell and the full life story of the serial killer Levi Bellfield. This book outlines the
massive, tedious nine year investigation by police and prosecutors into Levi Bellfield, his eventual

As a result of his research he provides evidence that the large extended family households were
relatively uncommon in the Pre Industrial society. He concluded that 10% of households in
England (1564 1821) include kin beyond the nuclear family. He claims hoe the nuclear family
households may have been a characteristic of much of North West Europe and Laslett argues that
this may have been important factor encouraging the process of industrialisation. An important
aspect of the industrial revolution was the prior existence of the nuclear family facilitating the
movement of workers to urban areas. Although Laslett s Research was seen to be thorough its not
possible to discover from his data how much cooperation occurred between kin who were members
of different households, so the extended families may have therefore been important while
remaining residentially dispersed among several neighbouring households.

Octavian and Marc Antony- The Duel of Words and Deeds
Octavian and Marc Antony The Duel of Words and Deeds Following the Julius Caesar s death at

Pros And Cons Of Driverless Cars

2017, pp. 54 59. EBSCO Academic Search. Accessed 23 June 2017. The Scientific American
contributing writers, Ratti and Biderman, discuss the pros and cons of driverless cars, such as
freeing up time spent driving, to making the roads safer. Concurrently: the article explores a
reduction in the number of cars needed with the onset of ride sharing; more riders per car equals
less cars required on the road. Furthermore: the article examines the pitfalls of onboard computer
viruses and the possibility of a substantial shortfall in city revenues from loss of city transport
riders and licensing fees due to a reduced number of cars on the road. Though: traffic control
would be easier in their opinion, with the use of slot technology; this is how driverless cars
would navigate the roads, like modern trains on tracks. Concluding; the authors theorize, simply
eliminating drivers could result in a disaster due to a loss of tax revenues, nevertheless we
would achieve a more urbane experience with the proper use and introduction of driverless cars.

In the New International Version of the Holy Bible, it is Jesus who breaks the seals (Revelations

Supernatural puts a modern twist to the myth, depicting the four Horsemen, who are directly
influenced by the book of Revelation, affluent elderly men who ride into town on their horses much
like it is stated in the Bible. Supernatural, instead of using actual horses, uses iconic cars to

Essay On Nelson Rockefeller
The Rockefeller family is an extremely wealthy American dynasty with German roots. The
family members were heavily involved in the industrial, political, oil and banking businesses of
America that allowed them to amass one of the world s greatest fortunes. Primarily, the family
history starts with the brothers John D Rockefeller Sr. and William Rockefeller who owned the
standard oil company that controlled nearly all oil flow in the US until 1911 when it was broken
into subsidiaries to end its monopoly. Nonetheless, the family continue to be involved in the oil
industry and profit from it. The brothers are considered to be responsible for creating the majority

Due to Nelson Rockefeller s extensive knowledge on Latin America and experience in the region,
President Nixon sent him on a diplomatic tour of Latin America. The tour was aimed to observe the
effect of the revolutions occurring across Latin American countries during the 1960 s and to assess
the opinions and conditions towards the relationship between the US and Latin America and work
towards promoting goodwill. However, Nelson was received by violence everywhere he travelled in
Latin America causing conflicts between the people and the Latin American states. demonstrations
targeted Rockefeller as an agent of an imperialist United States, and in some cases were
accompanied by bombings. In Argentina, fourteen of seventeen Rockefeller owned supermarkets
were bombed in a coordinated attack . Despite this, Nelson Rockefeller continued his trips and
before he arrived to Venezuela students protests became so violent they led to military shootings
and numerous deaths. The Venezuelan leader Caldera managed to dissuade Nelson from coming to
Venezuela in fear of violent demonstrations. However, the Venezuelan people viewed the decision
as being initiated by the United States and it spurred more anti American feelings. Therefore,
Nelson Rockefeller s travels to Latin America spurred violence between the people and the leaders
of Latin America creating more instability and fostering anti American

Compare And Contrast Education Reform
An educational system is a means to develop a workforce, to improve the socioeconomic status of
the poor via social mobility, and to create a shared culture. Given these important roles, educational
systems are targets for social reformers. Joseph Lancaster and Arne Duncan were both education
reformers with strong and influential ideas about what and how students are taught. Lancaster was
a London schoolmaster and eventual leader of the Monitorial educationreform movement in the
early 1800s. Duncan was the US Secretary of Education from 2009 2015, and led an era of active
federal education reform. In comparing and contrasting these two educational reformers from the
past and present, there are more similarities than differences.... Show more content on

Recent United States Secretary of Education Arne Duncan was still trying to accomplish the same
goal. In Lancaster s book Improvements in Education he argues people should invest money into
the education of the poor. Why then so eager in the pursuit of riches? and why not rather pay that
attention to the infant poor, which their wants requires? (Improvements in Education). This line
demonstrates that Lancaster believes people should put money towards the education of the poor
so that they can have a chance to better their place in society. Lancaster tried to lower the cost of
education by developing the monitorial system of education which uses less teachers and so
lowers salary costs. This is similar to Arne Duncan s emphasis on investing more money into
education and in managing costs. At the end of his term, The Washington Post reported his
agency directed $100 billion in stimulus funds to districts small and large that were otherwise
facing severe job cuts in the wake of the 2008 recession. The move preserved an estimated
350,000 teaching jobs. In his speeches, Duncan said that states and institutions of higher education
will need to meet us halfway in doing more to keep college costs down and boost completion .
This statement made by Duncan shows that both he and Lancaster have similar ideas on the cost of
education, they both believe that education was a social investment and that the cost of education
should be lowered so poorer people can

Essay On Noncompete Agreements
Operating a business can be challenging, especially when managing employees, but an attorney can
help design and implement noncompete agreements to protect your company. Unfortunately, you
may not realize the different options in regards to these legal agreements. With this guide, you will
understand the different types of noncompetes and learn how they can protect your business. Non
competition/Classic Agreement The most common agreement is the non competition agreement.
Non competition agreements will prohibit your employee from working for a competitor of your
company. This reduces the risk of a former employee competing against your business, since they

Confidentiality Agreements During the initial hiring process, you should have your new employee
sign a confidentiality agreement. While surprising to learn, a confidentiality agreement is different
from noncompete agreements. A confidentiality agreement asks that the employee keeps all
business related information confidential during and after employment. Not only will this
agreement hold the employee liable if information is disclosed to competitors and third parties, but
the confidentiality agreement also holds you liable in case information regarding your employee is
ever disclosed. Are You Required? It is important to note that you are not required to ask potential
employees to sign a noncompete agreement. However, investing the time and energy into drafting
these agreements can protect your business reputation, name, and finances from serious
devastation. When meeting with your attorney, be sure to understand your state s laws regarding
employee rights and noncompetes. Also, if you plan to ask on employee to sign the agreement, you
must ask all employees to agree to the noncompete. This reduces your risk of discrimination
lawsuits, which can be physically, emotionally, and financially devastating to your

Literary Devices In Catcher In The Rye
The world of adults is full of phonies and the only way to combat it is to be as innocent as a
child. Today, people have become so self interested that they fail to listen to everyone even
themselves. These are the points J.D. Salinger brings up in his novel The Catcher in the Rye.
Throughout the novel, J.D. Salinger s uses of voice, conflict, aposiopesis, irony, and metaphor
emphasize these points. The Catcher in the Rye is a story of a battle to preserve innocence.
The Catcher in the Rye follows the adventures of a teenage boy named Holden Caulfield. Holden
has changed schools several times over the past years because he either failed all his classes or
harbored strong feelings of hate and disgust towards his school. Holden, during the book s events,
is 16 years old, quite tall, and already has some gray hair. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Holden coins this phrase for himself based on a poem that he heard during events that that
occurred before the events of the book. This poem is called Coming thro the Rye by Robert
Burns. The irony between the poem and the novel begins with the two different interpretations of
a catcher in the rye . Holden says that he sees himself catch[ing] everybody [children] if they
start to go over the cliff. . . I d just be the catcher in the rye and all (Salinger ). Holden believes
that being a catcher in the rye involves protecting and preserving the innocence of the children
around him. However, the poem Holden gets this interpretation from is interpreted by most to not
be about innocence, but rather casual sex. Holden now seems to understand how disgusting and
phony sexuality and adulthood is. Holden wants to save children from the horrors that come with
growing up, but the irony lies in Holden basing his own beliefs on a poem about sex. Salinger s
deviation from the traditional meaning of Robert Burns poem gives interesting irony that both
shows how mature and naГЇve Holden really

America s Role in Containing Communism Essay
Immediately after World War II, another war emerged from the horizon. The Cold War, a battle for
both political and military superiority between the Soviet Union and the United States, began soon
after World War II, with Vietnam as a central issue. Vietnam, bordered by China, Laos, and
Cambodia, became a colony of the French in the late 1800s, who exploited the locals for raw
material, such as tin, rubber, and oil. They justified imperialism by insisting that they were
protecting the Vietnamese and held power over Indochina until World War II. Desperate for
resources, the Japanese conquered Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, for raw materials during
World War II. While the French did naught, Ho Chi Minh took advantage of the political... Show

However, due to Bao Dai s weak leadership, the democratic South could only remain independent if
aid [kept] coming at an increased tempo (Puppets). The inexperienced emperor could do little to
win the support of the majority of the Vietnamese and retaliate against the guerillas of Ho Chi
Minh, forcing the Americans to intervene if democracy was to prevail over communism. As the
Red pressure escalated, more aid became necessary for preventing communism from spreading to
other nations. When it became clear that Bao Dai could not expel the communists, the United
States decided to support the puppet, Ngo Dinh Diem, whose brother abused government powers
for personal interests, such as raiding pagodas. After refusing to sign the agreements at the Geneva
Conference, the United States elected Diem, who adopted a policy of peace as the governor of
South Vietnam (Elections). Diem became a key pawn in American attempts of stopping
communism, but Diem occasionally disregarded advice and did little to end the poverty that
plagued the majority of the Vietnamese. In early efforts of containing communism, the United
States made an alliance with Southeast Asia, known as the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization, or
SEATO, to protect the developing egalitarian nations from falling to the Marxists. However, Diem s
brother, Nhu, took the top position in the government and abused its

The Theatre Of The Lounge
Led by a group of actors into the theatre from the lounge, I saw a number of different theatrical
elements that were distinguished from other conventional theatre. The very first item that
caught my attention as I entered was a line of racks for coat hangers. Normally they would not
be one of the first objects an audience would notice in the house. The actors naturally guided the
audience to hang their coats on the hangers. As I went further into the space, I realized the
audience seats did not face the stage; the platform in which performance usually takes place on
was veiled by black curtains, visually creating a wall. This creation of the new wall yet did not
induce me to raise a question on where the actors would act; its answer was evidently shown. The
house was stripped down to a bare, flat ground, encircled by the audience chairs. I did not see any
specially raised platform that highlighted any actors presence. Nor did I see any decorative set
design, apart from two pillars and a bench in between, which distinctly differentiated the acting
region from the spectator region. I did see a blue tape on the ground that physically defined the
stage area. However, sitting in the front row, the tape mark was so close that I could easily step on
it. Meanwhile, instead of preparing themselves at the backstage for the play to start, the actors
walked around and interacted with the audience members through informal conversation. They all
wore their casual clothing; if I did not

The Field Of Machine Learning Essay
Literature Review Introduction: Machine learning is a part of software engineering that advanced
from the examination of pattern recognition and computational learning hypothesis in AI
(artificial Intelligence). Machine learning scrutinizes the study and development of algorithms
that can gain from and make forecasts of the information. The field of Machine Learning (ML)
currently lacks a common platform for the development of collaborative computing. By
composing ML models and algorithms in browser based programming languages, numerous
exploration opportunities are accessible. The most evident is programming similarity: almost all
registering gadgets can team up on the preparation of ML models by contributing some
computational assets to the general preparing methodology and can, with the same code, saddle
the force of advanced prescient models of the same gadgets (see Fig. 1). Figure 1: MLitB

The Feasibility of Prolonged Space Travel
The Feasibility of Prolonged Space Travel My scientifically accurate sci fi paper will focus on
long term space travel on a future mission to a distant exoplanet, such as the recently discovered
Kepler 186f, that is thought to be habitable for human life and later colonization. The astronauts
travelling to the exoplanet will have to deal with the effects of space travel such as radiation on
their bodies, both physically and psychologically. The goal of the mission will be to scope out the
environment of the exoplanet to either confirm or deny the existence of life on the exoplanet as
well as to evaluate in person whether or not it is habitable for humanlife. There will be obstacles
such as asteroids in the path to the exoplanet that the astronauts will have to overcome using
their scientific knowledge of space travel and propulsion. In addition to these obstacles will be
issues related to fuel and food supply, making the journey even more hazardous and causing the
astronauts to think critically in order for the mission to be a success, especially if they plan to
attempt to make a return trip. World renowned physicist Stephen Hawking believes that in order
for the human race to survive, it must look to space for a new place to live [1]. He believes that
the earth is too fragile to rely on and that if humans limit themselves solely to this one planet, the
future existence of humanity may be in jeopardy. Many scientists, such as NASAAdministrator

The Laughing Heart Essay
The poem The Laughing heart by Charles Bukowski begins with a declaration that puts
mortality into perspective. In lines 1 through 3 the main thought expressed, is that the reader is
in charge of their own life, and not to let anyone or anything change that mindset! your life is
your life/don t let it be clubbed into dank submission./be on the watch. ( Bukowski 1 3). In lines
4 through 7 the poem is telling the reader, that no matter what situation, how desperate it may
appear, if you just look for it there is always hope and a way to escape. Look at the positive things
in life because it always trumps looking at things in a negative aspect. there are ways out. there is

be on the watch. the gods will offer you chances. know them. take them. ( Bukowski 8 11) Lines 12

point in time, and there is nothing that you or anyone else can do about it. The only way to beat
death is to live! Don t hide in a shell like a hermit crab, and watch your life just drift by. Live life
to the fullest. You only get one opportunity at this life and Bukowski wants the reader to use it. .
you can t beat death but/you can beat death in life, sometimes. ( Bukowski 12 13).
In lines 14 through 16 Bukowski wants the reader to know that a life well lived cannot be
deterred by death. Once the reader realizes this they will become happier and live a life full of
purpose. and the more often you learn to do it,/the more light there will be./your life is your life.
( Bukowski 14 16). In lines 17 through 20 Bukowski reiterates that our lives belong to us and it
is up to us to recognize its full potential. We have an inner god that is waiting to break loose, if we

around the country. Every year, thousands of adults that were incarcerated leave the nation s jails

Schools like Goucher College here in Maryland or Adams University have partnerships with
prisons and allow inmates to register for programs to obtain a degree, or certification. Before I
speak on the benefits of educational programs let me first define it. Education is one to obtain
knowledge through learning. Since I can relate to this topic on a personal level, I found that
education in the prison system comes in various forms, such as academic, vocational, drug alcohol
treatment, self help/support groups, mental/sexual/physical health classes, college courses, and
employment training.
The Department of Corrections did a study from 1991 2002 that states and average of more than
50% of all inmates who are in the prison system did not have a high school diploma or G.E.D. Also
about 75% of inmates had no vocational or collegiate education. Another important statistic is that
the recidivism rate of inmates without their G.E.D. or diploma was at an alarming 65% 75%.
These now these statistics are not stating that if someone is uneducated or under skilled there are
more prone to return to prison, but it does imply some sort of correlation between education and

While internationalization, through rhetoric, is toted as a means of producing, disseminating, and
applying knowledge beyond national borders, Western models of internationalization within higher
education engenders the reproduction of oppressive world orders that place Europe, the United
States, and Canada at the top of academic food chain and developing (formerly colonized and
continuously exploited) nations at the bottom. Altbach Knight (2007) present the motivations,
expectations, and realities of internationalization of education within the context of rapid
globalization. Touching on the expansion of volume, scope, and complexity the international
activities of universities over the past two decades, Altbach Knight emphasis the integral part that
globalization plays in pushing higher education towards international involvement. Society has

internationalization and international academic mobility are characterized as favoring well

  • 2. Florida Football Game Analysis I wrote a couple weeks ago the five pivotal games for Florida which you can read here, (Florida Football: 5 Pivotal games for Gators in 2017). I ranked Tennessee at #5 and didn t think this was a must win football game. As we saw a year ago, losing your first SEC matchup didn t dictate the rest of the season. Unfortunately, things have changed and I firmly believe this is a must win ballgame. The Gators falling to Michigan and then not having the ability to play week two switched my perspective on this game. As Jim McEwlain said, Defending SEC East champs. It goes through here and it goes through Gainesville. With the SEC East race completely up for grabs, whichever team walks off the field Saturday with a win is in a very good position. ... Government Shutdown Research Paper Trust and the U.S. Federal Government Shutdown Amy Price Arizona State University Abstract This trust paper explores the 2013 United States Federal Government shutdown incident along with the trust theory as it relates to this issue. The more recent shutdown was contributed to the split party lines and Congress resisting to pass a budget with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in place. Trust between government and constituents have been a long struggle as public servants work to build trust after an issue like the Federal Government shutdown occurs. The research provided in the paper analyzes theories on the reasons for the lack of trust and how public servants can build trust. Not only does trust involve the political environment ... • 4. Egoism Vs Egoism What motivates individuals to do the things they do well, it is based fundamentally on their morality. Our moralities are the actions and beliefs we consider to be right or wrong. Our everydaydecisionsare determined by these morals. Moralityrefers to a code of conduct that applies to all who can understand it and can govern their behavior by it(Gert). An individuals morality is shaped by the way they view his or her own interests and weigh it in comparison to the interests of others. Those that value their own interests over others are known as egoist. Egoismis an ethical theory that treats self interest as the foundation of morality. However, egoism is divided into two,one known as ethical egoismand the other is psychological egoism. The two revolve around the idea of self interest. These types of egoist value their own interests over others. However, many of people have egotistic interior motives as helping others in the interest of our own.Humankind has the natural tendencies to grow, develop, and be the best they can be is in respect to their interests. After an individual discovers his or her own interests they learn what it takes to succeed and satisfy their interests. • 5. A Fluorescent Mirna Sensor For The Study Of Exrna And Drug... A Fluorescent miRNA Sensor for the Study of exRNA and Drug Delivery Abstract: Increasing evidence suggests cell to cell communication is possible through extracellular RNAs (exRNAs). RNA (including mRNA, miRNA, or lincRNA) has, on many accounts, been found packaged inside extracellular vesicles (EVs) which may traverse through a variety of bodily fluids to be taken up by a recipient cell. The biological significance of exRNAs is largely unknown. However, preliminary studies suggest they may play a role in a variety of important biological processes, including stem cell maintenance, apoptosis, and cancer metastasis. Furthermore, there is much hope in eventually utilizing EVs as a drug delivery vector to supply damaged tissues with therapeutic RNAs. Such a system could overcome the immunological challenges associated with viral vectors. Advances in understanding the biology of exRNA transfer have been hindered by a lack of dynamic methods for detecting changes in RNA concentration in vivo. Northern blotting, microarray, and PCR based approaches are invasive, and sometimes lack sensitivity when dealing with small quantities of RNA. While evidence of their significance is growing, to date no exRNA has been shown to enter and function in a cell in vivo. To address these issues, I have been working on the development of a sensor system for detecting exogenous small RNAs. This molecular sensor will exploit the ability of microRNAs (miRNAs) to bind to, and repress, target ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Rood The Dream of The Rood: lines 94 120 The Dream of The Rood is a religious poem written in the time of the Anglo Saxons. It is unknown who the author is as well as the date in which the poem was written. The poem first appeared in a late tenth century Old English manuscript consisting of poems and sermons. The poem may have come before the actual manuscript. Parts of the poem were carved in a stone crossat some time after its construction early in the eighth century. This speech occurs in lines 94 to 120. Before this selected passage the poem is opened with the Dreamers visions of the Cross, also known as the Rood, which lays out the poems plot. This refers to the point of the whole poem which is redemption. To be able to reach the point of being redeemed the passage says, who bears the best/ sign on his breast (line 117). This line is saying that whoever whole heartedly believes in Christ and appreciates what he did for the people they can obtain eternal life therefore being redeemed. This passage gives a major theme for the whole poem. It tells what Christ did for the sins of people who did not even care for Him. The beginning of the poem is about the beginning of someone s spiritual life where they are just being introduced to Christ and the end being redeemed. This passage is the part in the poem that connects the beginning with the end. For people uncertain in what they believe about Christ this passage can give someone the act of being redeemed as it did for the Dreamer at the end of the poem. LANGUAGE: This passage is written in prose form. There is a change of diction in this passage of the poem. Throughout the poem the diction has changed, in this passage it is using more influential words as a preacher would use in a sermon. The formal element of diction used in this passage shows the importance of what is being told. It reveals in the whole passage that the Cross is just a symbol that represents what is most important ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A drama written in eleven scenes, the play takes place in New Orleans over a nine month period. The atmosphere is noisy, with pianos playing in the distance from bars in town. It is a crowded area of the city, causing close relations with neighbors, and the whole town knowing your business. Their section of the split house consists of two rooms, a bathroom, and a porch. It is hinted that the start of Blanche s insanity was when she found out that her husband was a homosexual. Stella leaves Belle Reve, and Blanche is stuck to take care of their dying kin, while losing their family home. Before Blanche arrives in New Orleans, she is fired from her teaching job because the entire town knows of her as a whore. This is also what ruins her in New Orleans because the manager at Stanley s job has passed through the hotel she used to live in. The internal events of the play begin with Blanches arrival. Immediately, Stanley assumes that Blanche sold Belle Reve for money, and believes that a share of it belongs to him. In an argument Stanley hits Stella, and Blanche uses it as an excuse to lure Stella away. Mitch and Blanche begin dating, and decide that they will wed. When Stanley finds this out he informs Mitch as a friend of Blanche s past, and breaks up the engagement. Stella goes to the hospital to have her baby, and while she is there Stanley and Blanche have a fight, which ends with sexual relations. After Stella returns from the hospital, a nurse and a doctor come to take Blanche away. Mitch begins to cry, showing that he really did love her. Reversals are common in this play. These scenarios require you to think on your feet give an impromptu speech if you do not want to embarrass yourself, and want to demonstrate your knowledge and mental organization. You can apply the same mantra to impromptu presentations. Sear the basic structure of a presentation into your memory and volunteer to give speeches on the spot. The more you practice giving impromptu presentations, the more comfortable you become doing so. Just as people trained to respond to emergencies at a moment s notice, you will be able to respond with a solid presentation at a moment s notice. Consider the following key points as well as how to best communicate the content that is necessary for the requested presentation. Please With Threes A lesson I teach early in my presentation skills workshops, and that I learned in school and in Toastmasters clubs, is to please with threes . Otherwise called the rule of threes, this means that you create a presentation using a speech structure that consists of three main components: an opening, a body, and a closing. Manage these three major parts of a presentation and your speech will be organized every time. Get Off on the Right Foot Develop an attention grabbing opening. On short notice, few people expect you to be witty or humorous. Typically, last minute presenters are expected to address a specific issue or concern. Implement the following techniques, however, and you just might come across as witty and instantly engaging in spite of your last minute ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Pros And Cons Of Net Neutrality We all know the Internet, and use it in daily basis like entertainment and work, and many other types of usage for the Internet, and we use it freely with almost no boundaries that s what s called Net Neutrality . The F.C.C. (Federal Communication Commission) is trying to take that freedom away from all users and consumers in the United States by limiting accessibility, and speed for all type of consumers of the Internet by repealing the Net Neutrality which will allow the ISPs (Internet Service Provider) to have more control over the Internet usage of the consumers. According to the chairman of the F.C.C. Ajit Pai a former lawyer for Verizon, that repealing Net Neutrality will increase the ISP s profit and improve the service quality they provide for the consumers. A lot of people showed their disagreement over the issue, and followed by many disappointment and disapproval of big characters, companies and websites. While ISPs are regulated right now to treat everyone equally and fairly, Trump s administration and the F.C.C. s goal is to repeal the Net Neutrality, and give control of the Internet to the ISPs in the U.S., even though the consumers do not support the repeal and protested against it for various reasons, but the F.C.C. still want to give the ISPs control of the Internet to increase their income, and have more privileges over the Internet. • 16. Why Do Not Football Helmets Promote Neck Injuries Essay The goal of this project is to work towards answering the question of whether or not football helmets promote neck injuries. In order to gather data, a U of R team made a machine that rapidly changes speed while translating from side to side to stimulate a rotational acceleration and velocity about the head and neck due to an angular displacement. The purpose of this machine is to simulate an unexpected and sudden change in motion of the head in order to analyse the resulting motion. The data collected was the rotational position of the head, the linear position of the cart, and the linear position of a point on the body. All measurements were made with and without a helmet. In order to answer the main question, there had to be a further understanding of how the mechanics of the head and neck change with the addition of a helmet. To achieve this, MATLAB was used to compute the resulting velocities and accelerations, the reaction forces at the neck, and the moment about the base of the neck. From these calculations, it is possible to make observations about how the addition of a helmet affects the dynamics of the head and neck. The code is structured with a script of general input data such as the given data and labels for plots. All of the given position data was corrected to start at position zero for better comparison between the positions with and without the helmet. The information was then passed into a function that converted all data into the desired units, computed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many families and individuals that were once in a higher class, which have been forced to a lower class due the declining economy. This is known or felt by Americans watching today s struggling economy. Due to the economy failing, it has caused most industries to cut back on production and has caused a decline in the working force. In turn, this has caused a ripple effect to almost every business across America. A simple analogy to help support this would be; the auto industry is not producing the amount of vehicles that they have in the past. This, in turn means that they don t need the volume of tires that they have. Now, this causes problems for the tire maker. If the tire maker, doesn t have a demand then they don t need as many employees and causes the tire maker to make drastic cuts to its personnel. And the ripple effect continues on down the line causing further layoffs; not only for the tire maker, but also for their suppliers. The moral of this is; once employees start getting laid off and the demand doesn t rise, a corporation will eventually have no choice but to thin out some of its top executives. The Acts closed the port of Boston, restructured the Massachusetts government, allowed British officials to be tried in court in either Canada or Europe, and allowed troops to be quartered wherever needed. The Americans felt that all these were violations of their rights and that they had been forced to obey laws that violated their rights. All the above decribed Acts and laws, were a justification for the revolution. However, they are not valid causes for the rebellion. • 27. The Importance Of Cellular And Cellular Signals Regulating... After thickening of chamber walls during cardiac embryogenesis, oxygen and nutrients can no longer be passively diffused into cardiac cells, therefore, a primitive vascular develops to supply these vital resources. The plexus then further matures into coronary arteries and veins which ensures continued development of the heart. However, the vasculogenesis of these coronary blood vessels is not fully understood and has been a topic of intense research and debate. Over time, various models have been proposed, indicating the importance of cellular and molecular signals regulating vascularization of the embryonic heart. Interestingly, research has highlighted the contribution of extra cardiac cells which migrates and differentiates in the heart. Keywords: Vasculogenesis, angiogenesis, embryogenesis, VEGF, anatomical variations. Introduction Much of what is known about the origin of cells that make up the coronary vascular network comes from immuno histochemical analyses, quail chick chimera experiments, retroviral labelling, gene targeting experiments and, more recently, lineage tracing studies. Interestingly, not a single cell that makes up the coronary system of the heart arises from the heart. All of this happens without ever tapping into the blood that courses through the primitive heart tube (Mu et al., 2005; David et al., 2002). Name: Savannah Davies ID: 300334814 Tutor: Ruth Glynn Lab Time: Friday 9 10:50am, EA 404B Abstract This study investigated the possible relationships between primary and secondary psychopathy and cognitive empathy. Is Primary and Secondary Psychopathy Strongly Related to Cognitive Empathy? Described as a social disorder, psychopathy is a field that has been extensively researched and we have discovered that it consists of two distinctive subtypes; primary and secondary. There are some similarities between these two subtypes however a distinction can be made through a subject s characteristics and traits. Both primary psychopathy (PP) and secondary psychopathy (SP) are associated with impulsivity, aggression, social isolation due to a lack of convergence with the social norm , superficial charm and poor behavioural control but primary psychopaths are more often characterised as callous, manipulative, extremely selfish with a diminished capacity for remorse and routinely untruthful, where secondary psychopaths are more introverted, socially anxious with low self esteem (Blackburn Fawcett, 1999). Empathy is essentially the capacity or ability to understand and share another person s mental experience. Cognitive empathy, is often referred to as Theory of Mind (ToM) and is conceptualised as the ability to understand and infer the emotions and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Achilles Reflection Paper The gates of Troy drew the strongest of men who wish to fight to gain treasures and respect. Among these men is the great warrior, Achilles, son of the Goddess Thetis. Achilles is the strongest of the Achaean men, full of honor, self pride, and dignity. In Homer s The Iliad, Achilles fights to take back his honor, crippled by the loss of his treasures, to prove his worth to the army and to Agamemnon, and to take revenge on Agamemnon for being selfish, controlling, and for diminishing Achillesimage. Honor is the fundamentals of a man in this time period. A man who has honor has things to prove he is a strong and capable man. For the past nine years, the Archean army has been slowly traveling to Troy, raiding towns and villages as they passed through. Before the journey, Menelaus wife Helen was given to Paris by Aphrodite, causing the Archean to lose his honor wife, treasure, and possession. After promising to help his brother, Agamemnon brought his army to Troy to recover Helen and Menelaus honor. Achilles, being the best fighter, was unwillingly brought along because it was his duty to do so, as his King, Agamemnon, requested it. Through unfortunate events, they were stopped by the father of Chryseis, who begged for his daughter s return. Consequently, Agamemnon was forced to give up his war prize, taking Achilles to compensate. Enraged, taken advantage of, and without his honor, Achilles swore at Agamemnon for being a horrible person. No, you colossal, shameless we follow you, to please you, to fight for you, to win your honor back from the Trojans (Homer 82). Achilles feels like he does all the dirty work and gets no pay for it. With his honor stamped upon and feeling worthless, he threatens to leave to make them see just what he does for them. What is an honorable man, if not a worthy one? Or a worthy one, if not honorable? The pride of Achilles, his honor, and valor, have been stamped upon. He is a doormat, something that can easily be flattened and walked over, and it is diminishing. • 31. Pros And Cons Of The Death Penalty The Death Penalty The death penalty has become an extremely pressing issue in our culture today. Both sides of the argument make very valid points. On one side the death penalty could potentially make citizens feel more safe, and on the other hand people can argue that us as mere humans do not have the authority to play God. I believe the death penaltyshould be abolished for a variety of reasons; our government is a broken system, a proposed law would not end all murders, and we, as humans, should not have the authority to determine whether someone lives or dies. When Jesus died on the cross He fulfilled the old law, or the Old Testament; when his blood was shed it pardons us from a spiritual death penalty. When reading the New Testament it is full of new framework; rather than constant justice, there is grace and mercy. The New Testament calls out hypocrisy. For example, in John 8:2 11 Jesus shows His followers and disciples that we no longer need to condemn others for a sin that they are in, because we have not removed the plank in our own eye. At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. • 32. Similarities Between The Crucible And Candide Representations of people and politics are often contextually influenced. Authors portray their political perspective through the representations within texts, often giving rise to evident conflict between an individuals conscience and political control. Such is encapsulated in Arthur Miller s 1952 play The Crucible ; a transhistorical allegory of the Salem witch trials. Correspondingly, in the novel Candide , Voltaire attacks political manipulation of the18th century theocratic Movement of Enlightenment . Both authors present their political speculations through exploration of an individuals moralitywithin the restraint of a theocratic society. Such is explored through core themes of representation of good and evil and the power of individual conscience. All political actions, despite malleability to individual interpretations, are at their core, motivated by the desire or need for ultimate control of a conformist society. Representations of the dichotomy of good and evil are expressed in the texts. Both the Crucible by Miller and Candide by Voltaire explore the ways in which values are manipulated, and imposed upon the people, to fuel political motives and achieve public conformity/ultimate control. In a dramatisation of man s corruption, Miller represents political motivations as a surrendering of moral and legal justice to fulfil personal agendas. He criticises the political powers of the McCarthy Era when the widespread fear of the communism witch hunt arose. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The lands within Africa were distributed using the order of imperialism, each country required permission in order to obtain the land. Women are more involved in combat situations since the war began in Afghanistan and Iraq. With the increase of women in the military came the increase of sexual violence. In the beginning, very few reports of sexual violence were reported; over time the number of reported cases became a huge issue that brought awareness to those that work with the President of the United States. At that moment, processes were being looked at; changes needed to be made to find ways to give confidence to victims, to feel safe enough to report the crime of sexual violence. The Scientific American contributing writers, Ratti and Biderman, discuss the pros and cons of driverless cars, such as freeing up time spent driving, to making the roads safer. Concurrently: the article explores a reduction in the number of cars needed with the onset of ride sharing; more riders per car equals less cars required on the road. Furthermore: the article examines the pitfalls of onboard computer viruses and the possibility of a substantial shortfall in city revenues from loss of city transport riders and licensing fees due to a reduced number of cars on the road. Though: traffic control would be easier in their opinion, with the use of slot technology; this is how driverless cars would navigate the roads, like modern trains on tracks. Concluding; the authors theorize, simply eliminating drivers could result in a disaster due to a loss of tax revenues, nevertheless we would achieve a more urbane experience with the proper use and introduction of driverless cars. This line demonstrates that Lancaster believes people should put money towards the education of the poor so that they can have a chance to better their place in society. Lancaster tried to lower the cost of education by developing the monitorial system of education which uses less teachers and so lowers salary costs. This is similar to Arne Duncan s emphasis on investing more money into education and in managing costs. At the end of his term, The Washington Post reported his agency directed $100 billion in stimulus funds to districts small and large that were otherwise facing severe job cuts in the wake of the 2008 recession. The move preserved an estimated 350,000 teaching jobs. In his speeches, Duncan said that states and institutions of higher education will need to meet us halfway in doing more to keep college costs down and boost completion .
