ISB's Health & Fitness Week from September 13-16 promotes healthy living and sustainability. The week includes activities like walking buses, health checks, bike rides to school, and a health & sustainability fair. Presentations will discuss links between personal and planetary health, conserving resources like water, eating less meat and more plants, and making informed choices about food and hygiene products. The goal is for ISB to become a healthy and greener school, and students are encouraged to participate and do their part.
Every living being either human or animal needs food for survival. It is very essential for
all to have proper diet, as it helps in growth of an individual. Thus, food can be defined as any
substance, may be plant origin or animal origin that is consumed by all to satisfy the nutritional
needs of the body. There are many types of food, which are a good source of different essential
nutrients such as fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, proteins, minerals, etc. It is consumed by all to
gain energy so that they can grow and maintain the life. Further, it also helps in repairing the
wounds of the body. Energy and nutrition contents of the food depend on the kind of food one
consumes, thus, efficiency of the body depends on the type of food consumed by a living being.
This present research study will focus on the importance of food in one’s life. It will assess why
it is must for a living being to intake different kind of food items. Moreover, it will also highlight
how mal-nutritious diet can affect the health and will draw light on the consequences of poor
diet. The last section of the report will conclude the topic.

16. This is a common misconception about eating less meat. We actually eat much more meat than recommended. According to USDA, in USA, men consume up to 190%of their daily recommended allowance of protein and women 160% FALSE!!

18. When are fruits and vegetables NOT good for you? When they are sprayed with poisonous chemicals. A lot of our food is sprayed with pesticides to kill bugs. This chemical is also VERY dangerous to us. Some foods you can clean to get the chemical off; others you can’t (e.g. strawberries, spinach…). Eating organic food is the best way to protect your health and your environment.
