Advantages Of Prep School
A prep school is a place for students to learn, grow, and practice skills that will help them be
successful later in life. They offer different possibilities for students, that other schools often cannot or
do not have available. While public schools are where the majority of students go, due to a variety of
factors, prep schools are frequently more beneficial than public schools. Prep schools have better
facilities and higher success rates, and are therefore superior to public schools, despite what Holden
experiences. A prep school is a school that offers a higher set of learning to its students, through
various advantages. They only accept the best of the best students, which is one of the reasons that so
many of their students go on to attend prestigious colleges as well (College Admission from Prep
Schools | Ivy Coach Admissions Blog). These schools are known for offering diverse academic
programming led by teacher scholars, many of whom hold advanced degrees in their subject areas
(The 50 Best Boarding Schools in the U.S). Holden Caulfield in the novel Catcher in the Rye by J.D.
Salinger attended prep school, and although he disliked it immensely, he still formed a close
relationship with one teacher in particular. That teacher, Mr. Antolini offers Holden a place to stay
when he needs it, which shows the kind of bond formed between teacher and student at a prep school,
compared to a public school. Shamus Raham Khan says small classes and individualized attention

Latin American Culture Report
The Latin American Student Association, or LASA, is the club on campus that promotes Latin
American Culture here at St. Cloud State University. When I found them at mainstreet I was really
surprised they were such a large club. Coming into school, I didn t expect to find such a large
community of Latin Americans. Let alone a whole club. Coming from a state where Latin culture is
almost integrated into everyday life, it was a big shift to come up here. Having a club like LASA helps
me not only to connect to my culture and keep it alive while I m at school. It also allows me to keep a
slice of home with me. Going to meetings, it feels like a family gathering because we all can relate to
one another in some way. The cultural event I went to was the LASA Latin Fusion Night. It was their
big kick off for the year. They had Latin music and food, and it gave people the chance to experience a
culture they might have never. It was held in the quarry of Atwood and it was packed when I got there.
I got there a little late, but I was still able to enjoy all that they had to offer. It s one thing to listen to
music and eat with friends, but when you re doing it with people who share this ... Show more content

However, in being here for two months, I ve met people from places I d thought I d never get to meet.
It s so crazy of how diverse this school is, and I hope that I never stop being able to explore other

Rough Draft Essay
Rough Draft It was the bottom of the sixth inning of a USSA sponsored tournament and I was hitting
fourth that inning, cleanup. Jake, our second baseman and the literalist on my team, was hitting first,
Jake tries to bunt and misses. C mon Jake, get the barrel on the ball, Said my first base coach Matt
Fitzmorris, who played in the majors, Let s go! On the very next pitch Jake tries to bunt again and
actually gets it down the third base side, a perfectly placed bunt in my opinion, and takes off for first.
The catcher springs out of his squat and goes to get the ball, he throws, and SAFE! screamed the
umpire named Donovan. Jake had made it, and was most likely going to get the steal sign. All of our
team, The Complete Game Rangers, were on the fence pounding it relentlessly, and screaming random
gibberish. We all calm down as our catcher Ry, whose hair is lucky , comes up. By now I am most
likely going to hit this inning, Ry is doing his walkup to the plate and is ready. The pitcher attempts to
throw really hard, and sails it over Ry s head, meanwhile Jake steals second. On the very next pitch

The Homo floresiensis was discovered on the Island of Flores, Indonesia. According to the Australian

indicating that they lived alongside the Neanderthals, Denisovans and the Homo Sapiens. In addition
it suggests that they lived at Liang Bua, a cave where the remans were found, during this time period.
The Homo floresiensis was nicknamed the hobbit as they only stood around 3.5 feet and also had a
tiny brain. The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History proposed that these traits may have

Government Is An Instrument Of The State Essay
At times confuse is made among state and Government and the two words are used on the other hand.
Government is an instrument of the state through which it does its inspirations. A state, as we have
seen, is a politically dealt with and geographically obliged collection of people that has the benefit to
use constrain. It is a reasonable substance in this manner ought to have an instrument through which to
work. Government is such an instrument. Each one of the nationals of a state are not part of a
government (Shobeiri, S. M. 2007). It s Forms: Governments may take a couple of structures. In
history, there have appeared to be many sorts of government. Aristotle had given a six wrinkle
portrayal of governments three standard and three degraded sorts of government. The three common
sorts of government will be government, control by one individual; advantaged, led by a couple;
nation, oversee by various. In case these ordinary structures are contorted, government gets the
opportunity to be persecution, nobility gets the chance to be religious government and country gets the
chance to be vote based framework. Political Parties: Political social affairs have ended up being vital
associates of government in present day times. They are the instruments whereby hopefuls are doled
out and picked. Notwithstanding the way that they are not official affiliations made by the state, they
are before long, semiofficial as in states underwrite, guide and permit them to offer contender

Identify the Major Forces Influencing Human Behavior at Work
PLO 7
Jamara Milbrun
Palm Beach State College
Abstract
Human Relations is defined as the skill or ability to work effectively through and with other people by
Lamberton, L. H., Minor, L. (2014) . However, there are external and internal influencing forces
regarding human behavior that impact how we interact with others or behave in the workplace. It is
vital for all employees in a company (regardless if they work in the Human Relations Department or)
to be aware of influencing factors so they can not only be successful with their performance, but be
successful as a team and help bolster the company s successes. Some of the most important
influencing factors are organizational climate/culture, work/life balance, Supervisor/Management,
conflict/resolution, job performance/responsibility, and personal characteristics.
Keywords: human relations, external and internal influencing forces

Analysis Of George Bernard Shaw Declares s There Is No...
George Bernard Shaw declares there is no love sincerer than the love of food. However, with the love
of food, there generally appear desires for an accommodation of a satisfying environment for further
appreciation of the food. For those seeking such sorts, Harry s, a locally owned restaurant in Moss
Bluff, deserves recommendation on account of the comfortable atmosphere, pleasant food served, and
the friendly staff. The restaurant building rests in the same concrete lot as a Five Star Quick Stop
convenience store off of highway 171 of Moss Bluff. To the right of the convenience store is Joe
Miller Road. To the left of Five Star is Harry s and it connects directly to a casino. The casino and the
restaurant are owned by the same people. The white tin like roof on the building provides a contrast to
three maroon signs separated by two green signs propped adjacent to them, capturing the attention of
those passing by. Wrapping around the red bricked restaurant and casino are several yellow lines that
fill with a variety of vehicles. Four blacked out windows situated directly under the large maroon sign
displaying Harry s Restaurant in a creamy white font decorate the building s face. Approximately two
feet of bricks separate the windows and the black glass door entrance. Upon entering the restaurant
stands a brown booth on the left. From behind the booth a rather youthful and welcoming female
greets guests walking in through the glass doors. Despite the somewhat tight

Is Deviance And The Deviant Label That Is Put Upon Female...
Topic The topic that I have chosen for my research paper is deviance. More specifically the deviant
label that is put upon female athletes. Given that they are scrutinized for becoming their own people
and dismissing the traditional ways a female should behave, I would like to look at not only how these
athletes are treated, but how they respond to it. Also focusing on if this process has changed over time.
Thesis Throughout the course of history, the consensus regarding traditional gender norms has
changed immensely. Just the thought of going against these morals was unthinkable and shamed.
However, as times have come to change, the challenging of these norms has become more accepted
along with the notion that there are no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I cannot exactly say what because I did not live there, but there is always that thought. It always varies
place to place, we are always seeing change, through technology and diversity for example, they
influence how we define deviance. So yes and always.
Q2. If so, will these previously thought of deviant behaviors always have that label, even if it is more
accepted in today s society? Will they forever be known as deviant?
A2. No, that s not always the case. Certain labels can change. Even so far we ve seen cases where one
was deviant and we see radical change over time, there is nothing in a way that keeps it deviant.
However some things are harder to change over time.
Q3. Why, in today s age does more media coverage play a role? (it being easier to access, faster to
publish news, more platforms...etc)
A3. Cleary media plays some role and accessing information plays a role. Social reactions always
plays a role, historically information would get passed and people would get stigmatized and labeled,
now there is so much information that some can be cancelled out. For instance, how we hear about all
of this crazy stuff on how Russia closed fake information supporting Trump. They would tweet and it
would become fake news. People would then retweet what was said and it would be retweeted a
million times to the point where it was all out for everyone to see and discuss. Sorry I am getting off

Can the Etiology of Psychopathy Lead to Earlier Detection and Reduced Crime Rates? The field of
forensic psychology is ever changing as is the world around us. There is a persistent need to evaluate

psychology is the health care field and the usable technology. This new and advancing technology is

wounded people) which they interpreted as reflecting abnormal prefrontal amygdala communication.

The Ethical Ethics Of The Tuskegee Syphilis Study
Over the years human experiments has developed the knowledge of human physiology and
psychology. However, the use of human s subject in research have to become a controversial issue in
our society. It has become a debatable questions whether it s ethical or not. There has to be a limit to
where certain experiments can be implemented on humans such as trials for drugs and social
experiments. There are moral principles that guides our research into deciding what is right or wrong .
This principles is governed by two philosophical theory which is deontology and utilitarianism.
However, they need to balance the risk and benefit for the participant associated with the research.
This paper will not only focus on the breach of ethical conduct of human experimentation but also
introduce different views from Henry Beecher and Jay Katz about the ethics in human research. One
of the human experimentation study that breach ethical conduct is the Tuskegee syphilis study, which
was conducted in 1932 in Macon County, Alabama. Medical researcher recruited African American
male subjects diagnosed with syphilis, they targeted people from poor and rural counties. The main
purpose of the study was to acquire information about the natural history of untreated syphilis. The
United States public health service initiated a program to diagnose and treat 10, 000 African American
for syphilis 1(pg 212). But unfortunately they didn t have enough money for the treatments. The main

Children Should NOT Be In The Military
Have you ever thought about the kids that fight in war. Well that s a big problem Kids shouldn t be in
the military fighting, there are also people that want to prosecute them. I don t think that they should

reason why they shouldn t be prosecuted is because They were forced by either drugs or they were
brainwashed into doing killing. They were also forced to kill if they don t they would get killed, they
also made false promises. And most of them were kidnaped from their parents and villages. But some

The second graph identifies a set of results where age is measured against sociotropy being the

Around the age of 21 there is a sharp decline in sociotropy amongst participants that could be
explained by the fact they are nearing the end of university and are satisfied with their level of social

Discussion
Agentic interpersonal behaviour debates the idea of exercising power over others in social contexts.
The individuals who tend to present this trait tend to identify themselves as forceful, assertive and self
confident, (Wiggins 1995; Zeigler Hill; Qinglin Zhang 2013).
The social dominance that typically accompanies extraversion can aid various self esteem regulatory
functions; examples of this include sustaining and augmenting feelings of self worth as well as
communicating these thoughts about the self to the social environment.
This pattern is coherent with the reasoning that self esteem is a determining factor and that self esteem
is associated with relative positions of dominance in hierarchies, (Kirkpatrick Ellis, 2001)
Perceived self esteem was positively connected with recognised traits of extraversion,
conscientiousness and emotional solidity. Together, these results insinuate that the perceivers believed
that individuals who were classed as extraverted, conscientious and emotionally stable possessed
greater levels of self esteem. It is crucial to comment that these associations emerged after controlling
for self reported personality features.
The importance of this, establishes the association between

information on how to become successful in a capitalistic society. Clason achieves this by using

These stories are split up into chapters which explain important ideas such as the Seven Cures for a

stories told I was able to grasp on how I should live if I want to become successful and therefore I am

Zohar Sefirot Symbolism
The imagery and symbolism are rich and fluid, but they follow a pattern, the pattern of the sefirot. The
Zohar rarely describes the entire sefirotic system. It even avoids the term sefirot and instead speaks of
lights, levels, links, roots, garments of the King, crowns of the king, and dozens of other images for
the individual sefirot. The reader must interpret the symbolism and identify the corresponding sefirah.
The term originally meant numbers or numerical potencies, but in medieval Kabbalah the sefirot
became stages of God s being, aspects of divine personality. Their pattern and rhythm inform all the
worlds of creation. Prior to the release of the sefirot, God is unmanifest, referred to as Ein Sof,

imaginary library provides proof texts whenever necessary. Its fantastic catalog includes the Book of

the Book of Rav Yeiva Sava, and the Book of Rav Yeisa Sava. The Zohar cites our Mishnah or the
mystery of our Mishnah when the acual source is another Zohar passage or medieval Kabbalah. Such
is the nature of Torah, according to the Zohar: Torah removes a word from her sheath, is seen for a
moment, and then quickly hides away... She does so only for those who know her intimately. The
Zohar does the same. It hides more than it reveals; only the careful, devoted reader can learn from it. It
is a common experience to read several lines of Zohar, or an entire passage, and then wonder what the
message was. Cascading imagery overwhelms coherent teaching. But that is the nature of the subject
matter: ... the whole spectrum of colors flashing, disappearing. Those rays of color do not wait to be
seen; they merge into the fusion of Zohar. The Zohar yearns to reveal the divine light permeating
Torah, but since that dimension of meaning is beyond words, words are employed as symbols. Torah
becomes a treasure house of symbols, pointing to that which cannot be expressed. Imagination

Jay Gatsby Influences
The Great Gatsby is generally regarded as a story of love and tragedy, but in actuality, it was a story of
a sad man chasing a baseless obsession with a woman and in trying to obtain this relationship,
succumbing to immoral practices and ultimately dying alone. The author of The Great Gatsby, F. Scott
Fitzgerald, is a widely acclaimed author who had a life of tragedy and loss that greatly impacted his
writing. He was able to see not only the light hearted, celebratory, and successful side of the American
Dream, but also the negative effects of overindulging with alcohol and incessant partying. He was able
to indirectly write about himself and his losses in the stories he wrote. Unfortunately, he was not able
to see how successful he had become. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of his decisions are based on his need to feel superior and his interminable chase after the idea of
Daisy that he has created. Part of the genius of the novel that Fitzgerald included was the two
dimensionality of the characters. Almost all of the characters lacked a human aspect of their
characterization. Fitzgerald wrote them this way on purpose. He wrote the characters of The Great
Gatsby the way that he saw people around him in his everyday life: shallow and vapid. Instead of
filling the novel with well rounded characters, he filled it with characters who at best made
questionable decisions, even with good intentions in mind. His decision in doing this is extremely
important to the themes portrayed in the novel. The Great Gatsby brought a lot of the social issues that
were going on in the 20 s into the light, and in a brilliant way. Writing Jay Gatsby as a static character
was an integral part of the themes that Fitzgerald hoped to depict with the The Great Gatsby, and an
extremely effective way to expose the general public of the 20s for whom Fitzgerald truly saw

all the bible tells us about what John looked like. He certainly looked much different than us today.
John The Baptists Work
In Luke 1: 16,17 the angel of the Lord says that John will bring the Israelites back to their God, he will
go before God in the spirit of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the
disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous. This will make ready a people prepared for the Lord. So
this shows what John work was. It was to get the people ready for the Lord. He did this by many ways
like baptism. He even baptized Jesus. This is the work that John was called to do.
Old Testament Prophecy
In the old testament Isaiah speaks about John, and how he will prepare the way for the Lord. He will
show the glory of the Lord, and all the people will see it. So does this mean that John is going to make
a difference? Certainly yes, it says that their faithfulness will be like the flowers of the field. John was
the right man for the Job, and he was going to succeed in preparing the way of the

Twin Brothers Of The Kray Brothers
Often, we hear tales of gangs and gangsters that rule cities owing to great influence over authoritative
figures. Most of these tales come to us from news about third world countries wrapped in turmoil and
chaos amidst lawlessness. Hence, to imagine a pair of twin brothers leading a gang to rule over
Eastern London during the 50s 60s era is difficult, to say the least. To say that the Kray Brothers were
the foremost perpetrators of organized crime in East London would be an understatement. The twins
were individually known as Ronald Ronnie Kray and Reginald Reggie Kray. The twins were born into
violence and under the influence of their grandfather, took up boxing. This was a common hobby for
young boys in East London. Sibling Rivalry spurred them on and the brothers experienced great
success, reportedly not losing a match until the age of 19. But alas, the call of a life of crime was
simply too attractive to repel hence off they went, robbing stores, hijacking vehicles and murdering
their enemies. In 1942, the brothers had a fight and Reggie had beaten Ronnie almost to death. Ronnie
suffered from schizophrenia at an early age and had to take pills to control his temper barring a
monstrous rage. London had fallen in to a state of future turmoil unbeknownst to them during the year

Newhaven Beaches Research Paper
Investigate process and/ or landform(s) along a stretch of a coast
Hypothesis
The transport of sediment affects the morphology of Newhaven beach and Castlehead cliff
This investigation will be exploring whether the movement of pebbles, shingle, shells and other
materials found on the beach have impacted on the shape and structure of Newhaven beach and
Castlehead Cliff. One of the key processes this investigation will focus on is that of long shore drift
caused by strong prevailing winds, prevailing wind is the direction from which the wind usually
blows. Cliffs are made from mainly two materials, chalk which is at the bottom and sand and clay at
the top. If cliffs are facing the direction of prevailing wind it may lead in high rates of cliff ... Show

Using a ranging pole ensuring a consistent height from different variable factors such as height. By
using a clinometer it is securing a valid angle to create an accurate beach profile, using a tape measure
with units such as cm and mm establishes more precise data. Constructing a beach profile determines
how the size of the beach changes. By repeating the investigation it allows results to be as precise and
reliable as possible. This ultimately helps me to either prove or disprove my hypothesis.

Adam And Eves Research Paper
Chapter one:
Introduction
At the beginning of the time, there was nothing, but pure light and love. This light and love was God.
God then began to create countless number of planets with different versions of Adams and Eves to
experience life in the physical form. These initial versions of Adam and Eves were the literal
expressions of God. They were created in the image of God and they were given everything that they
would ever need to enjoy life. They were living in the paradise that knew nothing about negativity or
problems. The only difference between Heaven and the place where billions versions of 20th century
Adams and Eves live right now is this in heaven, there is no negativity, no problems, no lack, no
physical death, and no darkness. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

What they did not realize at this point was that the fruit which they consumed activated the thinking

Advantages Of Push Marketing
Despite the fact that push communication is overwhelming the market, it gives the idea that sooner
rather than later, pull marketing will turn out to be more noticeable. Push Marketing, although still
utilized, is thought to be not as compelling as Pull Marketing. Push marketing most prominent issue is
the reality, that consumer s perception of interference has a negative effect on consumer s attitude to
mobile marketing (Zhang Li, 2012). Pull marketing gains advantage by utilizing the richer customer

for both parties (Kautonen, Karjaluoto, Jay awardhena, Kuckertz, 2007). Often pull Marketing is

The Importance Of Earthquakes And The Internal Structure...
Earthquakes are naturally reoccuring ecological patterns. In a sense, they re the Earth s natural means
of releasing stress and energy as a result of plate movement under the surface. Over thousands of
years, like many other ecological behaviors, seismic activities have compelled scientists to study
countless records of their impact in the natural world and in human civilization. They ve also shaped
the way we ve lived relevant to our environments, designed our very continents, and are revealing to
us insights of how the world is made up. In this essay, research and discussion will highlight the
importance of earthquakes in earth systems, the relationship between earthquakes and the internal
structure of the Earth, and issues or debate being brought up in the scientific community about it.
Earthquakes are a very important subject of environmental and geological research. Despite their
potential for destruction, they can be an aid for science (Shipman; Wilson; Higgins; Torres, 2015). The
techniques required to map the interior of the Earth need a source of waves, strong enough energy to
penetrate, the ability to generate these waves continuously in places that will penetrate the area of
interest, and the ability to detect the resulting reflected and refracted waves when they emerge (Tulane
University, 2015). Similar to how we use light, sound, radio, magnetic, and other waves to judge the
workings or configurations of things and spaces in our universe, so do we with

and decreasing the achievement gap between ELL and low SES students.
In order to implement an action plan that integrates technology and accommodates diverse student

Classroom Management In The Classroom
Classroom management is one of the most essential elements of teaching. Classroom management
refers to the wide variety of skills and techniques that teachers use to keep students organized, orderly,
focused, attentive, on task, and academically productive during a class . Therefore, without good
classroom management the classroom will not be an environment of learning, rather it will be an
environment of chaos. My personal philosophy of education pulls elements from three different
models assertive discipline, CHAMPS, and capturing kids hearts. The main goal of the assertive
discipline model is to put the teacher in charge of the classroom. However, teachers are also expected
to treat students as their allies in the learning experience. Although there are elements of assertive
discipline that I do not agree with, my idea of discipline in the classroom aligns best with this model.
When using assertive discipline, the teacher decides on the class rules before school begins. The
teacher also has a system of both positive and negative consequences in place. Additionally,
consequences occur in a hierarchy system, known as the discipline hierarchy. The discipline hierarchy
is a system of between 3 6 different consequences that become harsher as a student continues to
misbehave. For a first offense, the student is simply given a warning. If the student continues to
misbehave than the second and third time they are taken out of an activity. The fourth time the parents

Language And Its Effects On The Formation Of Relative Clauses
INTRODUCTION
Kiswahili is one of the best documented and most studied African languages and much work has been
done in analyzing various aspects of the language. However, one area which has thus far been not
enough explored is that of the syntactic elements of the relative clause. To this end, the paper will
focus on by providing a detailed (though not exhaustive) analysis of relative clauses without
attempting to grapple with morphology. This is done deliberately so that time is not wasted on
restating too much previous research as morphology in Kiswahili is already a well researched area.
Moreover, Swahili syntax is deceptively simple and can cause one to imagine that it is of no
importance. In a language as highly agglutinative as Swahili, it seems that morphology is all that is
needed to appreciate the language, however, syntax, as will be shown, does have some powerful
implications in the formation of relative clauses.
The morphosyntactic glosses provided will follow the Leipzig glossing convention throughout. Given
the nature of this research, original data has not been collected, as opposed to the previous study of the
NP structure, and all of the examples have been taken from secondary sources namely: Zwart (1997),
Lippss (2011), and Ngonyani (2001).
Before dealing with relative clause syntax, outlining a few general features of Kiswahili and having an
idea of what a simple sentence can be in Kiswahili seems to be useful.
The basic declarative sentence structure in

The Negative Impact Of Technology In Education
During a time of great technological advancement, keeping a job has become difficult throughout the
United States. Robots, computers, and other machines are now able to perform human tasks, taking
over many jobs. As economic concerns rose throughout America, former President Barack Obama
spoke about issue in his farewell address, stating that economic dislocations will result from the high
rate of automation taking over middle class positions (Gillespie). This suggests that advancement in
automation is causing job loss, which will hurt the economy of America. Because the growth of
technology is inevitable, it will undoubtedly affect future generations. Battling the negative effects and
spreading the benefits of automation starts with addressing the skills and qualities needed in the
workforce. To help future generations battle automation effectively, there needs to be changes within
the educational system, teaching future students skills and emphasizing qualities that cannot be
outdone or emulated by a machine.
Technology changed the way we learn, but it did not change what we learn. As technology advanced,
the economy changed, with some jobs and skills becoming obsolete. Ending automation starts with
changing what it is we are learning. Education provides a background for the future of many students;
however, the information students are learning is not putting them in the right position to battle
automation. In his article, Companies Need to Pay to Train Potential

Berners Lee is very accomplished.
After seeing all of Tim Berners Lee s accomplishments and awards it is easy to see that he is a very
important figure in todays society. Without his inventions and accomplishments society would not be

The American Holocaust And American Americans
The American Holocaust has had a major effect on the Native American people, and changed their
lives forever. It all begins with the European and Spanish invasion of North America. The European
people brought over dieses that the Native American were not exposed too and it caused deaths with in
their groups. Also the Europeans brought over more advanced weapons and were able to take over the
Native Americans, and this lead to the American Holocaust and shows the effect on the Native
American people. These historical events have been used in many Native American stories, and a
person is able to see the connections. The American Holocaust was a time that was damaging for the
Native American people. It was a time that dealt with the invasion of the Spanish and European
people. One aspect that made it a damaging time for the Native Americans, was the lack of weapons
that they had compared to the advanced technology of their enemy s. Columbus responded with
several hundred armed troops, Calvary, and a score or more of trained attack dogs (Stannard P.

what he needed to win his battles, with either swords or armor, or more attack dogs and more warriors.
One of the first discoveries of North American from Europeans was with Columbus. For America s
history, it more widely recognized Columbus, as opposed to the Native American people. This is

WHY HAS TERRORISM BECOME SUCH AN IMPORTANT ISSUE OVER THE LAST 40
YEARS?
There are many reasons why terrorism has become such an important issue over the last 40 years. In
this paper I will be exploring the answers to this question through three related topics; 1) the threat
from terrorism; 2) why people join terrorist groups and; 3) dealing with terrorism. I will be using the
sources provided and historical facts related to three groups; the IRA, the PLO and Al Qaeda.
Section 1 The threat from terrorism
Terrorism has been defined in many ways and not everyone agrees with any one definition. The UK
government defines it as: The threat of, for the purpose of advancing a political, religious or

Although both are personal opinions, they are from opposite sides of the conflict and support each

It also is well documented that the people who joined the IRA wanted Northern Ireland to be
independent just like Southern Ireland after it became independent in 1916. The IRA s own stated
aims were to defend their nation, to remove British troops from N. Ireland and to make it a part of the
rest of Ireland as one country.
People join al Qaeda for various reasons loosely connected with fighting foreign occupiers, political
motivations and religious ideology. One of the main reasons why people join al Qaeda is to fight
America and other western governments who are seen as invaders or aggressors against Muslim lands
and their populations. They also strongly focus on the US backed occupation of Palestine and the Al
Aqsa mosque (in Jerusalem) by Israel and the US troops that are based in Saudi Arabia home to the
holiest mosque in Islam. This has been supported by statements from al Qaeda itself. This is also
supported by source 10 a statement by Osama bin Laden made in 1998. After pointing out the political
and military injustices of the Americans and their allies he quotes verses from the Quran to back his
argument for Muslims to kill Americans and their allies. Source 4 is a similar statement made by al
Qaeda which further proves the motives. Whilst these are

Essay On Charter Schools
Since the 1980s, charter schools have allowed families to exercise school choice, a practice that had
begun a few decades earlier when parents preferred to control their children s education because of
religious views or racial prejudices. As dissatisfaction with the performance public schools grew
during the late 20th century, parents called on government to subsidize an arrangement where children
could receive adequate education outside of the traditional public school system. Thus, two major
school choice devices emerged: charter schools, privately run schools that receive public funding, and
tuition vouchers, which cover some or all of tuition at participating private schools.
Nevertheless, these options have become controversial establishments for a number of reasons.
Charter schools in particular have been criticized because they are run by independent private
organizations with less regulation than a traditional public schools and therefore, extraordinary
educational opportunities are just as common as extreme cases of operational negligence. An annual
Phi Delta Kappa poll on public schools reported that the nation was split on whether or not charter
schools should have the same required standards as local public schools. Communities with
satisfactory public schools typically said yes, and those with struggling public schools typically said
no. In Atlanta, reports of educational inadequacy, lack of diversity, and financial mismanagement

An Individual s Identity Is Shaped By Many Aspects Of...
An individual s identity is shaped by many aspects of their life, but the ones where they either
experienced hardship or were oppressed are the most prominent in defining their identity. Individuals
who identify as LGBTQ often have to deal with issues of inequality in their everyday lives, because
the dominant group, straight individuals, create an environment where others feel oppressed. In many
situations the dominant group feels as though anyone not like them needs to change, and because they
believe sexual orientation is a choice, they should just be straight. The importance of maintaining

While he was talking about race, the argument still applies to sexuality, and necause LGBTQ
individuals had to endure this injustice it was not only their privilege, but their right to take action
against it. Taking this initiative to create an equal society was best accomplished through nonviolent
resistance. Martin Luther King Jr., a large proponent of nonviolent campaigns, writes about how there
are four basic steps in creating a campaign. First the collection of the facts to determine whether
injustice exists, which in this case it does based on the definition of an unjust law. Next, self
purification, this is having the confidence to unwaveringly believe in a cause and not stray from non
violence resistance. Third direct action which is used to create enough tension in the community so
that something happens, in this case causing friction between the government and LGBTQ
individuals. Finally, negotiation, where people worked with the government to change the law so that
LGBTQ individuals have the right to get married. While, this does not have an affect on societal view
it at least makes individuals freedoms legal. Martin Luther King Jr., believe in talking the initiative to
challenge unjust laws that revoke personal freedom and accepted all sorts of punishment, from the
dominant group, for it. This was similar to what LGBTQ individuals were willing to do for equality,
but with regards to sexual orientation not race. Individual expression is another way that the

entering the earths atmosphere. As stated by Wang et al. (2006, p. 160) Pollution represents a loss in
profits during manufacturing . By Interface reducing their pollution through smoke stack
minimisation, they will see a return in increased profits. Further looking into the aspect of reducing
emissions, Interface has acknowledged that to prevent toxic emissions altogether we must go upstream
and prevent those toxic substances from entering our factories in the first place. What comes in will go
out as a product, waste or emission (Waage 2003, p. 23.). To sum this statement, prevention is better
than cure. By following a process of assessing what products come into a manufacturing process and
either substituting or eliminating pollutant products, the end waste will be minimised. As Interface has

Why Did Texas Fight In The Civil War
Friend versus friend, brother against brother. The Civil War was an extremely bloody war that tore
families apart. In the year 1861, Texas, an American slave state, seceded from the Union, joining the
Confederate states of America. Prior to the state s secession, Abraham Lincoln was elected president;
he was an abolitionist, so tensions rose throughout the nation and that resulted in southern secession.
Shortly after that, tensions snapped and the Civil War began. The question is, why did the people of
Texas fight in the Civil War? Texans fought in the Civil War because they were pro slavery, supported
State s Rights, and were loyal to Texas. One of the main reasons Texans fought in the Civil War was
the issue of slavery. According to the

Comparing Romeo s Clothing In Romeo And Juliet
Romeo Romeo s clothing was exceptionally similar to that of his father s. His high ranking allowed
him to wear almost any clothes that he wanted. The style of slashing was common among the high
class. This allowed for the colors of clothing worn below to contrast against the outer clothing. A
plethora of exotic materials were worn by Romeo. From velvet to silk, he was allowed to wear it all.
His clothing had multiple elaborate designs all over. The colors that he wore were similar to his father
s. Gold and silver were the main colors worn by him. Juliet Like her mother, Juliet often wore the
colors of gold and silver. She did not wear any purple because she was of slightly lower class caused
by her young age. Gowns, partlets, and kirtles were often worn by Juliet. Her high class was reflected
in her clothing. Corsets and multiple petticoats helped achieve the small waist desired by the ladies at
the time. Juliet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the high class that he possessed, he was allowed to wear clothes made of fine material. Woolen
cloth and velvet were often used by Tybalt. Gold or silver was also commonly seen embroidered into
his clothes. Like Mercutio, Tybalt wore colors of crimson and scarlet. Tybalt, like many others of the
time, wore extravagant hats as another way to show his upperclass. Breeches with slashes in them
were also worn by Tybalt. This was so the contrasting colors of inner layers were shown. Paris Paris
was a man of extremely high class. Clothing that was almost of the level of royalty was worn by him.
Being a kinsman of the Prince, he was often seen wearing purple and gold. He commonly wore
doublets or jerkins, but he would also often wear gowns or cloaks. The high ranking given to him
allowed him to wear clothing mainly made of silk. Large hats with feathers secured on them were
commonly worn by Paris. Flat and low slip on shoes were the ideal choice of footwear at the

Sesamoid Stress Fracture
Introduction: What Are Stress Fractures? Stress fractures account for approximately twenty percent of
athletic injuries, with eighty percent of stress fractures occurring in the lower leg. Stress fractures in
the lower extremity are common injuries among individuals who participate in endurance, high load
bearing activities (2). The incidence of these injuries has risen due to earlier and longer participation
in sports (3). Stress fractures occur when repetitive mechanical load exceeds the biological capacity of
bone, causing micro damage (1). This rate exceeds the rate at which bone can repair itself, requiring
recognition and management of risk factors (2). The initial stage of bone failure is typically called a
stress reaction. If the repetitive loading continues, the stress reaction can form into a true stress
fracture (3). Furthermore, specific intrinsic and extrinsic risk factors can make an athlete more likely
to sustain a stress fracture. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Two forms of treatment can be implemented when dealing with a stress fracture of the great toe
sesamoid; non operative and operative. Non operative treatment of an acute sesamoid stress fracture
requires a period of immobilization and protected weight bearing. The goal is to manage weight
bearing through the heel for a period of six to eight weeks, giving the sesamoid bones a chance to heal
properly. If a displaced sesamoid stress fracture is present, it is essential that surgical intervention is
performed. Chronic stress fractures can also be treated non operatively. Ideally, the area under the base
of the great toe is protected through the use of an orthotic. The use of an orthotic can be used in
combination with a cushioned insole and a stiff sole of the shoe. The stiff sole allows for a dispersion
of force away from the base of the great toe. In addition, moderation of activities will be implemented
to prevent excessive loading to the area

  • 2. Advantages Of Prep School A prep school is a place for students to learn, grow, and practice skills that will help them be successful later in life. They offer different possibilities for students, that other schools often cannot or do not have available. While public schools are where the majority of students go, due to a variety of factors, prep schools are frequently more beneficial than public schools. Prep schools have better facilities and higher success rates, and are therefore superior to public schools, despite what Holden experiences. A prep school is a school that offers a higher set of learning to its students, through various advantages. They only accept the best of the best students, which is one of the reasons that so many of their students go on to attend prestigious colleges as well (College Admission from Prep Schools | Ivy Coach Admissions Blog). These schools are known for offering diverse academic programming led by teacher scholars, many of whom hold advanced degrees in their subject areas (The 50 Best Boarding Schools in the U.S). Holden Caulfield in the novel Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger attended prep school, and although he disliked it immensely, he still formed a close relationship with one teacher in particular. That teacher, Mr. Antolini offers Holden a place to stay when he needs it, which shows the kind of bond formed between teacher and student at a prep school, compared to a public school. Fitzgerald wrote them this way on purpose. He wrote the characters of The Great Gatsby the way that he saw people around him in his everyday life: shallow and vapid. Most of these tales come to us from news about third world countries wrapped in turmoil and chaos amidst lawlessness. Hence, to imagine a pair of twin brothers leading a gang to rule over Eastern London during the 50s 60s era is difficult, to say the least. To say that the Kray Brothers were the foremost perpetrators of organized crime in East London would be an understatement. The twins were individually known as Ronald Ronnie Kray and Reginald Reggie Kray. The twins were born into violence and under the influence of their grandfather, took up boxing. This was a common hobby for young boys in East London. Sibling Rivalry spurred them on and the brothers experienced great success, reportedly not losing a match until the age of 19. But alas, the call of a life of crime was simply too attractive to repel hence off they went, robbing stores, hijacking vehicles and murdering their enemies. They ve also shaped the way we ve lived relevant to our environments, designed our very continents, and are revealing to us insights of how the world is made up. In this essay, research and discussion will highlight the importance of earthquakes in earth systems, the relationship between earthquakes and the internal structure of the Earth, and issues or debate being brought up in the scientific community about it. Earthquakes are a very important subject of environmental and geological research. Despite their potential for destruction, they can be an aid for science (Shipman; Wilson; Higgins; Torres, 2015). • 30. Classroom Management In The Classroom Classroom management is one of the most essential elements of teaching. Classroom management refers to the wide variety of skills and techniques that teachers use to keep students organized, orderly, focused, attentive, on task, and academically productive during a class . Therefore, without good classroom management the classroom will not be an environment of learning, rather it will be an environment of chaos. My personal philosophy of education pulls elements from three different models assertive discipline, CHAMPS, and capturing kids hearts. The main goal of the assertive discipline model is to put the teacher in charge of the classroom. However, teachers are also expected to treat students as their allies in the learning experience. Although there are elements of assertive discipline that I do not agree with, my idea of discipline in the classroom aligns best with this model. When using assertive discipline, the teacher decides on the class rules before school begins. The teacher also has a system of both positive and negative consequences in place. Additionally, consequences occur in a hierarchy system, known as the discipline hierarchy. The discipline hierarchy is a system of between 3 6 different consequences that become harsher as a student continues to misbehave. For a first offense, the student is simply given a warning. • 31. Language And Its Effects On The Formation Of Relative Clauses INTRODUCTION Kiswahili is one of the best documented and most studied African languages and much work has been done in analyzing various aspects of the language. However, one area which has thus far been not enough explored is that of the syntactic elements of the relative clause. To this end, the paper will focus on by providing a detailed (though not exhaustive) analysis of relative clauses without attempting to grapple with morphology. This is done deliberately so that time is not wasted on restating too much previous research as morphology in Kiswahili is already a well researched area. Moreover, Swahili syntax is deceptively simple and can cause one to imagine that it is of no importance. In a language as highly agglutinative as Swahili, it seems that morphology is all that is needed to appreciate the language, however, syntax, as will be shown, does have some powerful implications in the formation of relative clauses. The morphosyntactic glosses provided will follow the Leipzig glossing convention throughout. Given the nature of this research, original data has not been collected, as opposed to the previous study of the NP structure, and all of the examples have been taken from secondary sources namely: Zwart (1997), Lippss (2011), and Ngonyani (2001). Before dealing with relative clause syntax, outlining a few general features of Kiswahili and having an idea of what a simple sentence can be in Kiswahili seems to be useful. Robots, computers, and other machines are now able to perform human tasks, taking over many jobs. As economic concerns rose throughout America, former President Barack Obama spoke about issue in his farewell address, stating that economic dislocations will result from the high rate of automation taking over middle class positions (Gillespie). This suggests that advancement in automation is causing job loss, which will hurt the economy of America. Because the growth of technology is inevitable, it will undoubtedly affect future generations. Battling the negative effects and spreading the benefits of automation starts with addressing the skills and qualities needed in the workforce. To help future generations battle automation effectively, there needs to be changes within the educational system, teaching future students skills and emphasizing qualities that cannot be outdone or emulated by a machine. Technology changed the way we learn, but it did not change what we learn. As technology advanced, the economy changed, with some jobs and skills becoming obsolete. Ending automation starts with changing what it is we are learning. As dissatisfaction with the performance public schools grew during the late 20th century, parents called on government to subsidize an arrangement where children could receive adequate education outside of the traditional public school system. • 45. Sesamoid Stress Fracture Introduction: What Are Stress Fractures? Stress fractures account for approximately twenty percent of athletic injuries, with eighty percent of stress fractures occurring in the lower leg. Stress fractures in the lower extremity are common injuries among individuals who participate in endurance, high load bearing activities (2). The incidence of these injuries has risen due to earlier and longer participation in sports (3). Stress fractures occur when repetitive mechanical load exceeds the biological capacity of bone, causing micro damage (1). This rate exceeds the rate at which bone can repair itself, requiring recognition and management of risk factors (2). The initial stage of bone failure is typically called a stress reaction. If the repetitive loading continues, the stress reaction can form into a true stress fracture (3). Furthermore, specific intrinsic and extrinsic risk factors can make an athlete more likely to sustain a stress fracture. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Two forms of treatment can be implemented when dealing with a stress fracture of the great toe sesamoid; non operative and operative. Non operative treatment of an acute sesamoid stress fracture requires a period of immobilization and protected weight bearing. The goal is to manage weight bearing through the heel for a period of six to eight weeks, giving the sesamoid bones a chance to heal properly. If a displaced sesamoid stress fracture is present, it is essential that surgical intervention is performed. Chronic stress fractures can also be treated non operatively. Ideally, the area under the base of the great toe is protected through the use of an orthotic. The use of an orthotic can be used in combination with a cushioned insole and a stiff sole of the shoe. The stiff sole allows for a dispersion of force away from the base of the great toe. In addition, moderation of activities will be implemented to prevent excessive loading to the area ...
