Why Is The Atomic Theory Important
The Atomic Theory is a theory that explains what matter is made of. The Atomic theory states that
matter can t be divided as it is made up of minute particles called atoms that cannot be separated.
The very word atom is derived from the Greek word Atmos which means indivisible.

The Contemporary Foreign Policy Of The United States
The contemporary foreign policy of the United States represents an evolving continuum of
principles, conceptions and strategies that in part, derived from the particularistic American Cold
War experience. As such, United States foreign policy is neither a static entity, nor is its intentions
or direction uncontested. This essay will examine the underlying issues of identity and how,
beginning with the Truman Doctrine, a distinct articulation of the national interest was evinced that
has defined America s role in the world. In doing so, focus will be given to the development of
alliance policy, containment and its effect on transforming the US posture in the post Cold War
international order.
Firstly, it is pertinent to reconsider the traditional narratives that underpin American identity.
Inherent in this is Manifest Destiny, which asserts that Anglo Saxon American s are God s chosen
people, with a superior culture and who are pre ordained to spread civilisation to inferior peoples
(Hollander 2009, 169). This tradition offers instructive themes for the formulation of American
exceptionalism and its manifestation into a missionary foreign policy (Hoffmann 1968, 369). It
also raises to the forefront the Manichean character of American policy, its solipsism and tendency
to justify geopolitical objectives in moralistic terms (Lepgold 1995, 372). Thus, US foreign policy
is a discourse for reproducing American identity, containing threats to its core principles and
legitimating

Parkinson s Disease And The Disease
Parkinson s disease is a chronic disorder of the nervous system with a gradual onset that
primarily affects the body s motor system. The symptoms of the disease are mainly caused by the
death of dopamine producing cells in the midbrain. Dopamine is an important neurotransmitter
that, among other things, is responsible for playing a role in how the brain controls bodily
movements. Therefore, the cardinal symptoms of the disease are movement related, including
tremor and rigid, jerky movements. Parkinson s is a progressive disease, meaning it gets worse
over time, until it eventually leads to complete disability. Parkinson s is a fairly common disease,
and several well known people, such as actor Michael J. Fox and boxer Muhammad Ali have...

Parkinson s disease produces both motor symptoms and nonmotor symptoms. There are four
cardinal motor symptoms of Parkinson s: tremor, rigidity, bradykinesia (slow movements), and
postural instability. Tremor is the most obvious symptom of Parkinson s, as well as the most
common. The tremor is uncontrollable and is most noticeable when the limb is at rest; when
the limb is in use, the tremor disappears. Often times, the tremor only affects the hand or foot on
one side of the body, but it can eventually become bilateral. Rigidity is characterized as stiffness
and resistance to movement in the limbs. The arms, legs, face, and back are areas commonly
affected. Early on, rigidity can cause joint pain, often in the shoulder. Bradykinesia is one of the
most common symptoms of Parkinson s. It is described as slowness and difficulty in initiating
and making movements, especially repetitive movements and fine motor skills, such as writing.
Bradykinesia greatly affects the ability of the Parkinson s sufferer to perform common activities
of daily life, like getting dressed. According to Nolden (2015), postural instability is the imbalance
and loss of righting reflexes. This is usually a symptom that shows up in the late stages of
Parkinson s. Postural instability is linked with high rates of hip fractures in people with Parkinson s
disease, due to increased falls. Aside from the four cardinal motor symptoms, there are secondary
motor symptoms that go

Humor. Mockery. Relationship Goals. Can you consider these three things in a story about slavery?
Slavery is typically a sensitive and serious topic. In Charles W. Chesnutt s short story, The Passing
of Grandison and Quentin Tarantino s film, Django Unchained , these three components were
combined for entertainment purposes. In this essay, I will implement the comparison that both the
short storyand film shows with the three component of humor, mockery and the relationship goal
of a slave. The Passing of Grandison was humorous in many ways. The humor started the Colonel
s son, Dick Owens, trying to win a girl s heart by doing something kind by freeing a slave by
taking him to Canada. Chesnutt used humor by exposing the... Show more content on

In this story, Chesnutt changes the reader s initial perception of the characters, which was
humorous. Such as, even though Charity somewhat persuades Dick Owens to proceed in losing his
father s slave, she never believe that he would actually succeed. Dick returns home, and Charity
Lomax hilariously marries him, as she was mildly impressed her with his act. In the movie, Django
Unchained, Taratino humor comes in condemning the importance of slavery, which he makes fun
of events and groups of people that existed during the time of slavery. In the movie, there is a
white German bounty hunter named Dr. Schultz seeks out a slave named Django and buys him
because he needed him to find some men he is looking for. What so hilarious about this was that
Dr. Schultz could have used anybody beside a slave that was on the same plantation with the
men that Django might have known, he was not even certain that Django knew of these men he
was looking for. Also, in the movie, Taratino made the scene with Django changing wardrobe to
be a hilarious part of the movie. You can say that Django went from rags to riches, after Django s
freedom Dr. Schultz offers to buy him a new suit whatever he wanted. Django selects a blue two
piece with lace cravat and knickerbockers, he assumes that s what gentlemen (a free slave) would
wear, It was funny seeing Django walk in his new wardrobe because he thought he politically

Why Rollover Occur
Define rollover and discuss what stage of the fire that rollover occurs. In you description make
sure you talk about what conditions must be present for rollover to occur. Rollover is when a
fire or flame front rolls across the ceiling away from the fire. This occurs when fuel and air reach
their flammability which mostly occurs several feet away from main body of the fire. This
happens because there isn t much oxygen above the thermal column of the fire searches for air
further away and the combination with the heat, fuel, air it will create a rollover. The rollover
would occur in the growth or fully developed stage of the fire. Define Flashover and discuss what

Slavery In Venezuela
Venezuela s economic development began long ago when Christopher Columbus discovered it
on one of his voyages to the new world. The development started with the colonial experience led
by the Spanish. In the 1500s word had spread that there were pearls and rare precious metals to be
found in Venezuela. With the newly found pearls, the Spanish colonizers started developing
extractive policies to harvest these pearls and metals to the point where new ways and resources
had to be found. In the 1520 s, instead of extracting resources and treasures from Venezuela, the
Spanish began extracting their native people, taking the people for slavery. The slaves that were
extracted from Venezuela were used to supply the growing need for labor in the Caribbean... Show

the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in 1944 as an executive member.
In 1950, he became ANCYL president and continued the Programme of Action and expanded the
Anti Apartheid mission through the Defiance Campaign and Mandela Plan(M Plan).

Upon his release from prison, Mandela and the ANC renounced weapons and force.
Boehmer s Analysis: The Anti Apartheid mission and Mandela imitated a Gandhi style protest for
the various boycotts, Progamme of Action, and the Defiance Campaign. Eventually, the ANC and
Mandela believed the Algerian analyst Frantz Fanon armed struggle was a more effective model
against colonization. Mandela solidified his new creed in a speech to the Pan African Freedom
Movement of East and Central Africa (PAFMECA) named A Land Ruled By the Gun , where
Mandela hoped to establish a Pan African relationship with African governments and nationalist
organizations. Once released from prison, Mandela and the ANC again embraced the Gandhi form
of non violent discussion and negotiation.
My Analysis: Throughout Mandela s mission, he drew inspiration from across the myriad of the
ideological spectrum. Inspired by Gandhi, Mandela and the Anti Apartheid mission discovered the
foundation for the Defiance Campaign, M Plan, and Programme of Action. When Mandela and the
ANCYL felt the need for stronger resistance they found a new influence in Pan African support and
Frantz Fanon armed resistance. Mandela and the Anti Apartheid movement represent the duality of
political struggles capturing the anger that fuels an armed resistance and the hope that drives a
pacifist movement.

Laniak s Shepherds After My Own Heart Summary
I read the assigned reading from Laniak s Shepherds After My Own Heart with great interest. The
author does not waste time and starts by giving the reader a through overview of the historical
context of the shepherd motif in the ancient world. This concept is grounded in the cultural
traditions of the ancient near east world. After a lengthy exposition of the shepherd role in the
ancient world, the author gives of a thorough explanation of the role the shepherd motif played in
the Old and New Testament. Laniak s says that the thesis of this present work is that a discernable
pastoralstream of tradition flows through the Scriptures (Laniak 2006: 24).
The Old Testament is replete with stories and metaphors of good and bad shepherds.... Show more

In this respect the four major prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Zechariah they all present a
pastoral image of the shepherd. The four gospels are in the New Testament also give us that unique
image of a caring and good shepherd identified as Jesus.
Mark present the shepherd of the second exodus, Matthew is concerned with the compassionate
Davidic shepherd, Luke is focusing on presenting the good shepherd as seeking and saving the
lost, and John portraits the good shepherd as the self sacrificing shepherd (Laniak 2006: 25).
Many Christians have read both testament where the metaphor shepherd have been used to
indicate the leadership of the kings and spiritual leaders of Israel. But many have not stop to
think why the image of the shepherd found its way in the Bible. The fact that many of the ancient
near east people made their living by raising small livestock and cattle as a primary form of
subsistence (Laniak 2006: 42) has cause this tradition to make its way into the parlance of the
Scriptures and become an anthropomorphism even to portrait the image of God as a caring

The Victorian era was around the mid to late 1800s and was named after Queen Victoria, who
took the crown at age eighteen in 1837. This era provided women with more rights, though they
still had very few, and many women s rights movements started happening towards the end of the
era. The sexualization of the female body became a common thing, and women often used their
bodies to get men, which did have a downfall because rape was not uncommon. Colonization
became more popular during this time, which increased the use of the English language. Slavery

However Bruce realizes that despite this it isn t his place to use the weapon to kill the man. It

now Wayne looks calm collected, we can see he s firm in his beliefs. It s almost as if after the
incident with the gun he knows he shouldn t seek vengeance this way. The interesting thing to
note is his face is shaded throughout this scene much like before but as he takes up the katana

music throughout this trial is eerie and haunting yet louder and almost like a breaking point is

The major environmental issue is that lack of habitat diversity in the Chewuch River limited fish
productivity for anadromous fish listed under the Endangered Species Act. There is a need to
restore habitat diversity by increasing large wood quantities, pool frequency and quality, and re
establishing side and off channel habitat to improve fish habitat for ESA listed species.
PROPOSED ACTION AND ALTERNATIVE
The Forest Service and the Yakama Nation, funded by BPA, are currently proposing restoration
actions on the Chewuch River from R.M. 15.5 to 20.0. The proposed project has been designed to
enhance fish habitat and to improve fish habitat diversity by Increasing habitat complexity by the
introduction of large wood. Increasing pool habitat, and restoring historical off channel habitat. On
the other hand, the No Action Alternative would neither restore wood or stream side channels in
the 15.5 20 R.M. nor any other river restoration activities. The recovery process will follow the
nurture processes.
STRENGTH
This EA is clearly and contains details in every section. Additionally, this EA complied with the
NEPA requirements which four sections covered all the information. The EA contains the purpose
and need for the summary, followed by the second part which is alternative description, and the
third section is existing condition and environmental consequences, finally, the last section contains

The Portrayal Of The Theatre Of The Absurd Essay example
The Portrayal of the Theatre of the Absurd Throughout literature, much has been assumed and
gathered about the state of man and his purpose in life. Different poets, novelists, and playwrights
have employed the powerful tools of language to broadcast their respective statement to the literate
world. Many authors stand out for their overly romanticized or horribly pessimistic notations on
life, but only Samuel Beckettstands out for his portrayal of absence. As Democritus, a Greek
philosopher, noted, nothing is more real than nothing, a quote which became one of Beckett s
favorites and an inspiration for his masterful plays (Hughes 1). Beckett s works have astounded
many through their utter divergence from the typical basis of a... Show more content on

Beckett purposefully strips the setting of all elements of realityВ—namely time and definition. In
Waiting for Godot, his stage directions simply state, A country road. A tree. (1) Such simplicity
initially seems to muddy the clarity of the work, causing confusion as to the location and
specifics of the characters plight and conditions. However, as Daryl McDaniel constitutes,
bareness of the set only serves to create a complex fictional and highly theatrical world
(McDaniel 1). As the play goes on, this vague scenario also serves to make the work universal,
due to the commonality of such elements in nature. Similarly, although Endgame s plot plays out
in a more confined and defined space, a room with two high windows and two ashbins, the
surroundings are bleak and undefined. Collectively, Beckett s use of setting defies reality. Jean
Jaques Mayoux elaborates on this point to clarify, a realistic setting would spoil everything
(Mayoux 42). Beckett s intentional bleaching of the set allows for the perfect portrayal of the
world as incomprehensible. The distortion of time serves to enhance the incomprehensibility of
Beckett s works. Not only does Beckett fail to specify a time period, the element of time passage
becomes unfathomable, implying the same about the world in which we live. Waiting for Godot

The U.S. and the Soviet Union leaders engaged into a political and military stand off for thirteen
days. There was a fear that this would lead to a nuclear war. President Kennedy announces that
U.S. spy planes, U 2, discovered Soviet missiles bases in Cuba (History.com) Cuba is 90 miles

striking important cities, including Washington, D.C. During the next few days, the crisis escalated
to a breaking point of nuclear war with two dominating powerful countries.

The Rock, Pop And Soul Reader By David Brackett
The articles that I chose to examine from the Rock, Pop and Soul Reader by David Brackett are
titled On Wax by Paul Whiteman and Mary Margaret McBride, and What Songs the Beatles Sang
by William Mann. These articles came from different time periods in which there was a need for
change in music. The artists discussed in these articles took a chance, and experimented to create a
new sound that the audience enjoyed. Other important similarities include the specific changes
made in the music, and what made the sound more popular. Despite the similarities and differences,
these articles have also taught me much about the history of rock and rollincluding; the effects of
change in music, and the imagination and creativity behind it. When comparing the articles, one
can determine that they are similar. On Wax looks at the introduction of new music and technology
in the 1920s that revolutionized the music industry. However, What Songs the BeatlesSang, looks at
the change in music during the time of the British Invasion, and why the Beatles were successful. In
On WaxВё it stated that in the 1920s, there was change of instrumentation in nearly all orchestral
pieces (Whiteman and McBride, 11). This included the addition of the tuba replacing the double
basses, ordinary drums replacing banjo, and tympani and snare replacing the regular drum. These
additions created a muddy and fuzzed up effect that listeners enjoy (Whiteman and McBride, 11).

Nell s Twin Talk
In the movie Nell lost her twin sister as at a young age, as expected when a person loses
someone they care about they experience the process of grieving. It was portrayed that they were
very close, would play on the rocks together, and even had their own language that they talked to
one other in. The grieving was ever so apparent when she would stand on the rocks and go in
circles envisioning her twinsister was with her even though she was not. As we got to know Nell

What Does Money Mean In The Great Gatsby
Is money everything, does happiness revolve around money? The harder and more difficult a job
the more money you get, does money make you happy, do you need money to be happy. If you are

Essay on Shirow s Ghost in the Shell
Shirow s Ghost in the Shell
The real beauty of Mamoru Oshii s adaptation of Shirow s Ghost in the Shell lies in its attention
to detail and the sheer cohesiveness of these details which collectively form complex ideas and
plot. In nearly every detail and every plot element lies some tie to the key themes of the anime.
Some of the main themes deal with the commodification of the flesh and body; the separation
between one s spirit and body; and the idea that a static environment or organism a weak
stronghold. Here I will choose to focus on how through details the film explicates these themes,
rather than spending time extrapolating or explaining the themes in detail myself.

They had no ghosts, but their simple resemblance to people (they were a form of simulcra as they
wore our clothing in advertisement) made us attach some significance to them as entities.
On a related point (and often in that same scene), we see examples of the commodifcation of
people their ghosts as well as their shells. From the beginning of the movie, one of the things that
becomes readily apparent is that Motoko is somewhat objectified in her repeated removal of
clothing to bare her thermoptic camoflaged skin. In the manga, she WORE clothing to achieve this
effect. Even this creation of her as a sexual object seems to point to the commodification of the
body as spare parts put together, and resultant ownership by the creators of the body, rather than the
individuals who inhabit them. If the objectification of women is a state of separation of the women
and their bodies (and in fact the act of doing this a means of ownership by the male), then there is
really very little difference between Motoko as a sexual object and Motoko as property of the
government.
Further details which push forward the idea of the individual as a commodity occur at the climax
when Motoko asks 2501 why she was chosen, and the answer is that he saw something of himself
in her. That logic points to a sudden objectification and classification of even the ghosts, which are

Long-Term Consequences Of Spanish Colonization
An event that opens and gives way to the beginning of the history of our American continent is the
exploration and colonization of Spain centuries ago. There were many generals and idealistic
Spaniards who explored the American regions taking with themselves many of our wealthiest
resources. The Exploration and colonization of the Spaniards did not only open the door but also
and accounted for the early stages of the North American continent. The Spanish began getting
involved with the different cultures that had already been living there. This would result in the
suffering of the continent.
The Spanish began to enslave and colonize the Native Americans and controlled many of the
cultural development that populated the continent. As a result, ... Show more content on

An example of this is the diseases to which the Spaniards exposed Native Americans during the
period of exploration, we have typhus and tuberculosis, diseases for which at that time the Native
Americans had no antibody too, so Native Americans were susceptible to infection, and thus they
died in large numbers. These diseases still exist nowadays and are affecting a very small percent of
the American population. Another is the fact that, many of the tribes that existed back then do not
exist now because the Spaniards destroyed them. As I highlighted a few of the negative
consequences, I should also mention some of the positive ones as well. Before the arrival of the
Spanish, the Indians did not know the use of gold and how rare it really was. The Native American
natives did not have any better weapons than arrows, bows, and weapons developed rustically.
When the Spanish took over America, they brought their weapons with them. Although Spaniards
introduced diseases, some of the missionaries brought medicine with them as a more positive
influence. Also, the Spanish were among the first to distinctively map areas of North and South
America and founded communities that became cities, some of which have lasted into modern
times. Three of the four oldest cities in the United States were founded by the Spanish Florida, New
Mexico, Santa Fe, St. Augustine, and San Antonio,

Early Twentieth Century
Music plays a large part in all cultures throughout the world. Music is used in varying ways, such
as ceremonially, sacredly, and secularly. Pieces and genres of music are reflections of their time
and society. Music has been used throughout its existence to inspire people, to do bigger and better
things or to learn how to inspire other people. Music is as complex and diverse as the people who
listen to it and the time periods from which it comes. With the expansion of technology in the
world, came the expansion of music sound, view, and instrumentation. The Early Twentieth Century
brought with it a new sound and an expanding ability to experiment with music. Like all music,
music of the Early Twentieth Century had its roots from elsewhere places. All of the various types
of music from the Early Twentieth Century built on each other. The development of one led to the
development of the next and so on. The beginning of the Twentieth Century began with Blues
music, which has its roots in African American traditions from the deep southern states in the US.
Blues from the 1920s was based on a twelve bar structure and repeating chords. Blues music was
most often heard from freed African Americans after the Civil War. These newly emancipated

Analysis Of Thin Slicing
Having watched an interesting movie about the Navy SEAL (Sea, Air, and Land) Team such as
Lone Survivor or any other movies about wars, has anyone of us thought about how those task
force teams could deal with the hot situations they encounter while doing their jobs? How can they
make decisions that quickly so as to survive in those circumstances? According to Malcom
Gladwell, the author of Blink, human beings have an ability to make unconsciously quick
decisions, which is called thin slicing, in every split second. Gladwell s concept of thin slicing is
defined as the ability of our brain to pick out key patterns within a limited amount of data or
experiences and then make snap judgment, or quick decision, based upon those patterns. However,
this does not mean that our judgments can always be right. This only means that the process of thin
slicing is unconscious, instant and automatic. This process helps people solve problems quickly or
predict consequences in a short amount of time without knowing that they are doing it. There are
right judgments and there are also mistakes that being made every day.
As illustrated in the text, the first task of Blink is to convince you of a simple fact: decisions
made very quickly can be every bit as good as decisions made cautiously and deliberately. The
second task of Blink is to answer when should we trust our instincts, and when should we be wary
of them? The third and most important task of this book is to convince you that our

this means is eating in smaller portions and choosing healthy foods like whole grain foods such as

Pamela Anderson Ad Analysis
The Non Profit Association People for the Ethnic Treatment of Animals, otherwise known as

she had been marked by a butcher to be slaughtered and to have several of her body parts cut off
for the consumption of meat ( All animals... ). In the ad, Pamela Andersonis looking very sexy and
she is in a very provocative sitting position and is tagged as if she were an animalin various areas of
her body like her breast, legs, shoulders, ribs, among other parts. The message PETA was trying
to get across was that people and animals have the same parts and they were trying to persuade
the public to go vegetarian. The PETA ad was banned in several countries like Canada for being
too provocative and over sexualized. This isn t the first time the association is caught in this type
of situation, many of its ads like the Last Longer ( Last Longer ), Veggie Love ( Veggie Love ) ,
and Sex and the Kitty ( Sex and ) were banned for being too sexual and overly explicit. Although
PETA is trying to shine the light on the problems that animals suffer because of humans, the type of
attention that they get tends to be negative. Instead of getting the animalsthe help they need, their
ads get banned and deemed insulting and inappropriate. The Pamela Anderson Ad was said to be
offensive and very controversial. PETA is known for using celebrities to attract the public s

Intercultural Competence Of International Recruiters37.
INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE OF INTERNATIONAL RECRUITERS37
Literature Review
Studies of intercultural competence over the past thirty years attempt to measure the success or
growth of an individual s knowledge, skills and attitudes in relation to other cultures (Sinicrope,
Norris Watanabe, 2007). Global learning outcomes such as intercultural communication skills,
intercultural adaptability, intercultural sensitivity, intercultural maturity, and intercultural
competence are skills that universities feel are important to thrive in a diverse society where
effective interactions with people from other cultures is necessary (Deardorff, 2011; Fantini, Arias

Educators need to justify program success by demonstrating annual increases in study abroad
participation numbers in addition to providing quality measures related to cultural learning as well
(Engle Engle, 2003; Medina LГіpez Portillo, 2004). Ideally, students participating in a study abroad
experience will gain an appreciation of their own culture as well as develop sensitivity towards
culturally distinct others (Maharaja, 2009). Students who interact with people from diverse
backgrounds will hopefully accept cultural diversity and overcome negative stereotypes (Dong,
Day, Collaco, 2008). Scholars often associate cultural competency with the skills and behaviors
gained as individuals develop more complex levels of cultural sensitivity (HernГЎndez Kose, 2012,
p. 514). Cultural sensitivity is one of the key ingredients needed to understand and engage in
relationships with those from others from dissimilar backgrounds (HernГЎndez Kose, 2012).
Numerous assessment tools, ranging from simple short surveys to more complex behavioral and
performance evaluations, attempt to measure intercultural competence (Matsumoto Hwang, 2013;
Sinicrope et al., 2007). Historically, study abroad administrators focused on program logistics,
staffing, safety matters, and recruiting instead of

An individual s unique experiences shape their perspective on issues and events, they may share
the same opinion as others while they view the world from a different viewpoint, and this is
particularly relevant in the historical novel, The Secret River by Kate Grenville as the different
contexts employed in the text influence how specific characters are represented. The Secret River

King Sundiata Research Paper
One of the most powerful Kings of the Kingdom of Mali in the 1200s was Sundiata Keita. He
was known for many different things throughout history such as taking back the Kingdom of
Mali, where he grew up. He was also known for establishing the city of Niani as the capital of the
empire. These are a couple things Sundiata Keita is known for during his tenure as King. When
Sundiata was a child, Maliwas a very small kingdom at the time. While he was still a child, the
Soso people captured Mali and took control of the empire. Sundiata became a captive member of
the Soso, he lived with the leader of the Soso (see Sundiata Keita of Mali ). When he was seven
years old, Sundiata began to become stronger. He learned how to walk and started exercising
every day. In just a few years, he changed himself into a strong warrior. He was determined to
free Mali from the Sosos and fled into exile. While in exile, Sundiata became famous as a feared
warrior and fighter. After several years, he decided to return to Mali in order to make Mali a

Concrete Project Report
Introduction
We were requested to write a report for a client that are looking to build a new parking garage in
the Bloemfontein area. The client also requsted from us to not just advise him/her on what type of
concrete to be used, but also to give him/her a broad understanding of the different types of concrete
. Some of the aspects that will be discussed in this report are as follows:
1.Special concrete and its application
2.Admixtures
3.Types of extenders
This report will also contain our detailed recommendation in the form of foundation, floor slabs,
columns and beams. It is important to look at the soil conditions and weather conditions for
example temperature and other factors that could have an negative effect on the concrete. Before
doing the design and classifying the concrete to be used a site investigation should be done and
testes required should be carried out. The design has a massive impact on the concrete that would
be used. For the purpose of this report I would assume a site with good soil and no clayed partials
were found.
Before we start we should get a better understanding of what concrete is its positives and negatives
its strengths and its weaknesses.
Strength of concrete is dependent on a number of factors; one of the most important factors is the
cement water ratio. The lower the ratio is, the higher the final strength of the concrete would be.
Typical values for this ratio

Benefits Of Electronic Medical Records
There are many reasons why some health care organizations have been reluctant to use
electronic medical records. First let s talk about, what is an electronic medical record. An
(EMR) Electronic Medical Record consist of standard medical and clinical data gathered in the
provider s office which include a more in debt patient history. EHRs are created to hold and
distribute information from all providers dealing with patient care. EHR data can be created,
managed, and advised by authorized providers and staff from across more than one health care
organization. EHRs is another name for digital paper chart that hold all of the patient s medical
history from one practice. While expanding daily, electronic medical records are becoming
extremely popular. Research shows that some healthcare organizations continue to be reluctant to
purchase electronic record programs. The pressure on hospitals, clinics, systems, physicians and
other providers to get with the program is outstanding. Cost is a major concern for single
practitioners, which are least likely among physicians to adopt EHRs. EHR systems are not cheap
by any means. Physicians have to weigh the cost of not only creating, but supporting their own IT
structure and applications as well. The option to decide to use external vendors to provide the
services is given also. Consideration of cost include purchase price, coordination cost, monitoring
cost, and negotiating cost along with upgrade costs, and governance cost.

The Mysterious Death of Edgar Allen Poe Essay
Poe s Unsolved Mystery
On September 28, 1849, Edgar Allan Poe arrived in Baltimore, Maryland to take a train to
Philadelphia. What was supposed to be a brief stop over turned into an eternity. What caused the
death of the father of the detective story ? The possible scenarios surrounding the events that lead
up to his death are the cause of many magazine articles, books, and even recent medical studies.
Although no one really knows what happened to Edgar Alan Poe, there are over twenty different
theories about what might have happened to him. I will discuss the four major theories of what
Edgar Allan Poe s cause of death was.
First one needs to know some background information on Edgar Allan Poe. Poe was born in Boston,

They rekindled this old flame and before long the two were planning to be married. The one
condition set by Elmira was that Poe could not drink any alcohol. He readily agreed to her
conditions and even joined the Richmond temperance society, to prove his dedication to staying
sober. The two set the date of the wedding for October 17th to give Poe time to go Philadelphia
to conduct some business and then to New York to pick up his mother in law so she could
attend the ceremony. He left Elmira s house on the night before his journey and promised to
write her as soon as he reached New York. That was the last time she saw him. On September 27,
Poe left Richmond, VA by boat to go to Baltimore where he would take a train to complete his
journey. This is where the mystery begins. No one knows what happened to Poe from September
27 to October 3rd, the day he was found semiconscious and dressed in some else s clothing outside
Gunner s Hall in Baltimore. After alerting his friend, Dr. Snodgrass, of his illness, Poe was rushed
to Washing College Hospital where, according to his attending doctor, Dr. Moran, he had:
Tremor of the limbs, and at first a busy, but not violent or active delirium constant talking and
vacant converse with spectral and imaginary objects on the walls. His face was pale and his whole
person drenched in perspiration (Walsh 41).

Vacation On Easter Island
Conducting my research supporting a vacation on Easter Island, an atypical destination filled
with mystery and intrigue, I realized this destination is a must, not only for the adventure, but
also for the opportunity to experience a place not everyone is willing to expend the time and
expense involved in visiting, a vacation is ultimately a chance to escape the everyday drudgery
and routine, all these reasons make Easter Island the perfect, eclectic, vacation spot to enjoy a
once in a lifetime undertaking. Initial research led to the National Newspapers Core, perusing
the hits: an article, The Dream at the End of the World , by Edward Albee, (celebrated
playwright) stood out. Scanning the article, I realized he similarly regarded this undertaking,
moreover: I realized his words summed up exactly how I feel about this excursion. I have felt the
need to experience cultures which grew, fell into decadence and vanished (Albee 1). Easter
Island, isolated and unknown until 1722 when it was discovered by a Dutch explore on Easter
Sunday, (origin of its name). Consequently: this isolation is one of the drawing points for my
desire to visit this paradise in the Pacific. Albee goes on to state: The three essential assemblages of
statues are Ahu Akivi to my mind the most beautiful on the island seven giant figures staring out
over the landscape with power and serenity; Ahu Tongariki, with 15 giant figures staring toward the
quarry where they were formed,

My Forest
As I was tramping through the my forest in the midst of fall I wandered away from my normal
route into thicker undergrowth. Suddenly I stumbled right into a clearing of lush moss with a
towering old oak right in the middle and a small crevice running around it, and marvelous view of
the sunrise. The place I had, by chance, wandered into was simply beautiful. So for this I named it
Great Tree, the greatest place in my forest. My forest is a small three acre plot of beautiful
woodland with a variety of tree species and a few secrets tucked away.
The outer edge of almost any forest is quite thick and hard to break through so entrances are
necessary, and my forest has three of them, one at the top one at the middle and another one
right at the bottom. The top one is newest with some of the small trees still in a pile off to the
side. The trail leading from the entrances curves a good amount because of a pile of large rocks
and a long dead cedar tree. The trail quickly disappears because that area is rarely traveled and
forgotten. The second trail is the most used one starting by an old weathered and scratched
wooden swing. Then a few feet along a muddy walkway to a huge pointed flat stone with a
portion of the tip broken. The last entrance is very old it is covered by a thin wall of tall
undergrowth and hanging thrones yet when you slip through it there is a wide and flat trail leading
to the Christmas Tree Grove, home of the spruce trees .
There is no dominant tree in my forest

Personality Assessments Of College And Truly Had Not Spent...
I have taken personality assessments in college and truly had not spent as much time as this
analyzing, confirming and questioning the results. The global personality inventory told me I
see patterns faster than others and I need to slow down and ensure others keep up. Just last week
I was telling my Sr Director that we only have 3 6 months of work planned and we should create a
2 year roadmap. She said, What if our plans change? I replied, That s okay, at least we have a
foundational planto work from. I remember from Org Behavior class that when we wait for others
to make decisions for us, we lose power. My leader is waiting for direction on what we should
do next. We have to tell our Sponsor, the President, what we should do and why. I also learned I
like to take charge and influence. I m interpersonal and read others well, and ensure to pay attention
to others needs. Some of my areas needing improvement are my needfor micromanaging and
believing in wrong and right. My problem area is that my expectations of others are too high. I
have had a leader in the past that told me this. I led upward a lot during that relationship and
many times, he let me down. He said my expectations of him were unrealistic. We had to lay
ground rules for our working relationship on how he would lead me best. I didn t need direction.
I was able to create my own work and take him along with me on my plan. I tend to lean too much
towards black and white, and don t leave much room for gray,

A Leader Who Doesn t Have Knowledge Of The Best Person As...
Leadership is a term on which no one can reach a consensus as it carries a different meaning and
weightage for each individual. Some people may consider a person as their leader who is
capable of taking them away from hardships or caring for them, or some people may consider a
man steeped in wisdom and learning to be a leader. Difference notwithstanding, there still seems
to be some commonality in all the perspectives behind the definition, which is related to
choosing a best of the best person as their leader. The simple bottom line is that, nobody wants to
have a person as his leader who doesn t have knowledge of the needs and aspirations of his
people or who is not blessed with a certain temperament foe bearing hardships for his people, nor a
vision for where they should be or how they should grow and influence the world around them.
As the founder of tech startup, it is only natural for me to pick a leader who is a true
technological visionary. It was not enough to simply pick someone who created innovative
products, or created and ran a billion dollar company. For me it would have to be someone with
the vision to shape the future and world around him, a person who could see how his works would
directly impact the trajectory of the world and its impact on the human race at large. A true
visionary. Therefore, for the purpose of this assignment I have chosen to perform a study to Elon
Musk, the business magnate, engineer and inventor to name but a few of his accolades. In

Leaders and Managers in Health Care
Leaders and Managers Impact on Health Care
Healthy working areas are necessary in preserving positive interactions amongst nurses and between
the patients and the nurses. The stressors within nursing may cause burnout and nonattendance or
absenteeism which then may cause a shortage in health care (Shirey, 2006). A leader is vital in
helping to maintain retention of the nursing population as this person will have positive influence
on the environment where nurses practice. A smooth operating environment is likely to have
excellent results for the nurse and the patient. This paper will talk about the nurse to patient ratio,
describe leadership with management, along with a contrast and compare of the two. Furthermore,
this paper will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The manager approach to the nurse to patient ratio may be more indirect. Managers tend to
communicate with nurse leaders regarding work conditions in the unit. At the level of management,
performance matters most and patient satisfaction is important. As long as nurses perform to the
best of their ability, patient satisfaction will increase. In nursing, the management process consists
of gathering data, planning, organizing and administrating staff, leadership, and control. Viewed as
a management activity, the allocation of staff entails the maintenance of a proper workers to work
ratio and is therefore essential for a favorable outcome (Fagerstrom, 2009).
Leadership is influencing people and in contrast, management involves influencing employees to
meet goals and is focused primarily on organizational goals and objectives (Huber, 2010). A few
contrasts are mentioned within the textbook reading. The leader focuses on people, whereas the
manager focuses on systems and structures. A leader innovates whereas a manager administers. And
managers cope with complexity whereas leaders cope with change. (Huber, 2010)
Approach to Leadership
The leadership approach suits this writer s nursing philosophy. This writer believes in similar
values as that of a leader. This writer does her best work on the front lines of nursing; collaborating
with teams, communicating with fellow nurses, and coordinating patient care. This writer is

Bapsi Sidhwa picks serious issues of the society and present them in her writing by giving them
a humorous touch. Her writing is totally natural. Her novel Water is, no doubt, a remarkable
because she showed her creativity by following the script of Deepa Mehta s controversial film
Water . We can analyze her natural creativity in this novel. She is also called a feminist because
almost in every novel, her concern is women. She wants that women should be equally treated in a
society. They should be given equal rights as men have. She is against the patriarchal society. She

Pulp Fiction Conventions
They say there are no rules in filmmaking but some may see it otherwise. Having these features
involved in movies go along with the genre and tonality. Some of the greatest and iconic films over
the course of history involve technical editing and directing skills that are all put together
strategically. There are several key aspects that include the plot, characters, and especially the theme
because it lingers the entire film. The film Pulp Fiction directed in 1994 by Quentin Tarantinois
based on the life of hitmen starring Samuel L. Jackson John Travolta. Another famous star in the
movie is Uma Thurman played as the hitmen wife along with many other characters that make this
film so iconic. It is interesting to analyze this film to see how it manages not only to preserve the
thrill of a gangster s life, but how the intentions were not all bad. Pulp Fiction is known as an iconic
crime and drama film. Along with the unique cast of characters, there are many connections to pop
culture and also shows the transformation of the character especially Jules and Butch . Initially,

Music is incorporated into the film to fit in with the epic theme. Not only is the film exquisitely
created, but also the songs and sound are also what make the film iconic. For example, Chuck
Berry s song You never can tell played in the scene where Mia and one of the gangsters had a
twist off dance in a 50 s American restaurant. On the other hand, the set of the film was
recognizably the 90 s. Another iconic scene that is also in the beginning of the film is when
Vince and Jules discuss American fast food. More specifically, they talk about Big Macs and
McDonalds. For example, in the scene when they are both driving, Jules asks Vince about a Big
Mac saying, What d they call a Big Mac? Vincent then replies that in another country a Big Mac s
a Big Mac, but they call it Le Big

The Literature And The Individual Child
Traditionally, the term popular culture has denoted the culturedness of the lower classes as opposed

The distinction between culturedness of the classes is a socially constructed distinction and is

culture format they choose.

Violation Of Drug Testing
Some people may say that mandatory drug testing is a violation of the athletes Fourth Amendment
right. According to some people, these tests are unnecessary and therefore violate these rights. The
author of Mandatory Drug Testing Violates Rights believes that drug testing is a violation of the
Fourth Amendment of the Constitution; Courts have ruled that drugtestsare a search. A search is a
privacy issue, and there has to be a reason for the search. This is true. Drug tests are a search, and
in some cases they may violate the rights of some citizens. Professional athletes, on the other hand,
do not get their rights violated by this. This does not violate the Fourth Amendment because the
athletes have already agreed to the rules of participating in the sport. Deborah Lee and Ann
Griswold, authors of Point: Athletes Should be Tested for Drugsexplains that in none of these cases
have athletes Constitutional rights been abrogated because the participation in athletic events is
always voluntary and never mandatory. The mandate only comes into play after the athlete has
agreed to participate, thereby voluntarily agreeing to obey the rules of the sport. This explains how
the athletes have agreed to the rules of the activity, which in most cases prohibit the use of many
performance enhancing substances, so since they have agreed to these conditions, the mandatory
drug testing of athletes is not a violation of their rights. An athlete s rights are not being violated by

Security on the Internet Essay
Security on the Internet
Today s information is highly interconnected by the internet. With this interconnection of computer
systems through the internet comes computer crime. Breaking into computer systems, damaging
information, and stealing information, more commonly known as hacking, has become extremely
common on the internet. As hacking becomes more frequent, and as some would say, more of a
problem, should we consider hacking a criminal activity?
Information from across the world is stored on computer systems most of which are connected,

Then, using flaws within the internet, JavaScript automatically downloaded whenever a user
visited an infected site that included popular search and auction destinations. That JavaScript in
turn downloaded a keystroke logging Trojan horse from another server located in Russia. The
attack ended once the Russian server was taken offline.
A second attack targeted accounts with major financial institutions, such as Citibank and Deutsche
Bank. Spread by pop up advertising, which in turn loaded malicious code, this attack uses a
Browser Helper Object (BHO), a type of file that developers frequently use to monitor Internet
Explorer sessions. In this case, whenever a user visits a banking site, just before the encrypted
secure socket layer (SSL) session starts between user and bank, the Trojan records all the POST

sending your personal banking data to a remote server.
How could this happen? Blame monopolies. When Microsoft launched its browser war against
Netscape a few years ago, we may have all lost. By encouraging Web site developers to optimize
for Internet Explorer, (Fream, 2001) Microsoft killed off the competition by offering Web surfers
flashing images and pretty sounds. Internet Explorer now holds a commanding 95 percent of the

  • 3. The Contemporary Foreign Policy Of The United States The contemporary foreign policy of the United States represents an evolving continuum of principles, conceptions and strategies that in part, derived from the particularistic American Cold War experience. As such, United States foreign policy is neither a static entity, nor is its intentions or direction uncontested. This essay will examine the underlying issues of identity and how, beginning with the Truman Doctrine, a distinct articulation of the national interest was evinced that has defined America s role in the world. In doing so, focus will be given to the development of alliance policy, containment and its effect on transforming the US posture in the post Cold War international order. Firstly, it is pertinent to reconsider the traditional narratives that underpin American identity. Inherent in this is Manifest Destiny, which asserts that Anglo Saxon American s are God s chosen people, with a superior culture and who are pre ordained to spread civilisation to inferior peoples (Hollander 2009, 169). This tradition offers instructive themes for the formulation of American exceptionalism and its manifestation into a missionary foreign policy (Hoffmann 1968, 369). It also raises to the forefront the Manichean character of American policy, its solipsism and tendency to justify geopolitical objectives in moralistic terms (Lepgold 1995, 372). Thus, US foreign policy is a discourse for reproducing American identity, containing threats to its core principles and legitimating ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Parkinson s Disease And The Disease Parkinson s disease is a chronic disorder of the nervous system with a gradual onset that primarily affects the body s motor system. The symptoms of the disease are mainly caused by the death of dopamine producing cells in the midbrain. Dopamine is an important neurotransmitter that, among other things, is responsible for playing a role in how the brain controls bodily movements. Therefore, the cardinal symptoms of the disease are movement related, including tremor and rigid, jerky movements. Parkinson s is a progressive disease, meaning it gets worse over time, until it eventually leads to complete disability. Parkinson s is a fairly common disease, and several well known people, such as actor Michael J. Fox and boxer Muhammad Ali have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Parkinson s disease produces both motor symptoms and nonmotor symptoms. There are four cardinal motor symptoms of Parkinson s: tremor, rigidity, bradykinesia (slow movements), and postural instability. Tremor is the most obvious symptom of Parkinson s, as well as the most common. The tremor is uncontrollable and is most noticeable when the limb is at rest; when the limb is in use, the tremor disappears. Often times, the tremor only affects the hand or foot on one side of the body, but it can eventually become bilateral. Rigidity is characterized as stiffness and resistance to movement in the limbs. The arms, legs, face, and back are areas commonly affected. Early on, rigidity can cause joint pain, often in the shoulder. Bradykinesia is one of the most common symptoms of Parkinson s. It is described as slowness and difficulty in initiating and making movements, especially repetitive movements and fine motor skills, such as writing. Bradykinesia greatly affects the ability of the Parkinson s sufferer to perform common activities of daily life, like getting dressed. According to Nolden (2015), postural instability is the imbalance and loss of righting reflexes. This is usually a symptom that shows up in the late stages of Parkinson s. Postural instability is linked with high rates of hip fractures in people with Parkinson s disease, due to increased falls. Aside from the four cardinal motor symptoms, there are secondary motor symptoms that go ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Analysis Of The Passing Of Grandison And Quentin... Humor. Mockery. Relationship Goals. Can you consider these three things in a story about slavery? Slavery is typically a sensitive and serious topic. In Charles W. Chesnutt s short story, The Passing of Grandison and Quentin Tarantino s film, Django Unchained , these three components were combined for entertainment purposes. In this essay, I will implement the comparison that both the short storyand film shows with the three component of humor, mockery and the relationship goal of a slave. The Passing of Grandison was humorous in many ways. The humor started the Colonel s son, Dick Owens, trying to win a girl s heart by doing something kind by freeing a slave by taking him to Canada. Chesnutt used humor by exposing the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this story, Chesnutt changes the reader s initial perception of the characters, which was humorous. Such as, even though Charity somewhat persuades Dick Owens to proceed in losing his father s slave, she never believe that he would actually succeed. Dick returns home, and Charity Lomax hilariously marries him, as she was mildly impressed her with his act. In the movie, Django Unchained, Taratino humor comes in condemning the importance of slavery, which he makes fun of events and groups of people that existed during the time of slavery. In the movie, there is a white German bounty hunter named Dr. Schultz seeks out a slave named Django and buys him because he needed him to find some men he is looking for. What so hilarious about this was that Dr. Schultz could have used anybody beside a slave that was on the same plantation with the men that Django might have known, he was not even certain that Django knew of these men he was looking for. Also, in the movie, Taratino made the scene with Django changing wardrobe to be a hilarious part of the movie. You can say that Django went from rags to riches, after Django s freedom Dr. Schultz offers to buy him a new suit whatever he wanted. Django selects a blue two piece with lace cravat and knickerbockers, he assumes that s what gentlemen (a free slave) would wear, It was funny seeing Django walk in his new wardrobe because he thought he politically ... With the newly found pearls, the Spanish colonizers started developing extractive policies to harvest these pearls and metals to the point where new ways and resources had to be found. Mandela solidified his new creed in a speech to the Pan African Freedom Movement of East and Central Africa (PAFMECA) named A Land Ruled By the Gun , where Mandela hoped to establish a Pan African relationship with African governments and nationalist organizations. • 10. Laniak s Shepherds After My Own Heart Summary I read the assigned reading from Laniak s Shepherds After My Own Heart with great interest. The author does not waste time and starts by giving the reader a through overview of the historical context of the shepherd motif in the ancient world. This concept is grounded in the cultural traditions of the ancient near east world. After a lengthy exposition of the shepherd role in the ancient world, the author gives of a thorough explanation of the role the shepherd motif played in the Old and New Testament. Many Christians have read both testament where the metaphor shepherd have been used to indicate the leadership of the kings and spiritual leaders of Israel. The fact that many of the ancient near east people made their living by raising small livestock and cattle as a primary form of subsistence (Laniak 2006: 42) has cause this tradition to make its way into the parlance of the Scriptures and become an anthropomorphism even to portrait the image of God as a caring ... There is a need to restore habitat diversity by increasing large wood quantities, pool frequency and quality, and re establishing side and off channel habitat to improve fish habitat for ESA listed species. PROPOSED ACTION AND ALTERNATIVE The Forest Service and the Yakama Nation, funded by BPA, are currently proposing restoration actions on the Chewuch River from R.M. 15.5 to 20.0. The proposed project has been designed to enhance fish habitat and to improve fish habitat diversity by Increasing habitat complexity by the introduction of large wood. • 18. The Portrayal Of The Theatre Of The Absurd Essay example The Portrayal of the Theatre of the Absurd Throughout literature, much has been assumed and gathered about the state of man and his purpose in life. Different poets, novelists, and playwrights have employed the powerful tools of language to broadcast their respective statement to the literate world. Many authors stand out for their overly romanticized or horribly pessimistic notations on life, but only Samuel Beckettstands out for his portrayal of absence. As Democritus, a Greek philosopher, noted, nothing is more real than nothing, a quote which became one of Beckett s favorites and an inspiration for his masterful plays (Hughes 1). Beckett s works have astounded many through their utter divergence from the typical basis of a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Beckett purposefully strips the setting of all elements of realityВ—namely time and definition. In Waiting for Godot, his stage directions simply state, A country road. A tree. (1) Such simplicity initially seems to muddy the clarity of the work, causing confusion as to the location and specifics of the characters plight and conditions. However, as Daryl McDaniel constitutes, bareness of the set only serves to create a complex fictional and highly theatrical world (McDaniel 1). As the play goes on, this vague scenario also serves to make the work universal, due to the commonality of such elements in nature. Similarly, although Endgame s plot plays out in a more confined and defined space, a room with two high windows and two ashbins, the surroundings are bleak and undefined. Collectively, Beckett s use of setting defies reality. Jean Jaques Mayoux elaborates on this point to clarify, a realistic setting would spoil everything (Mayoux 42). Beckett s intentional bleaching of the set allows for the perfect portrayal of the world as incomprehensible. The distortion of time serves to enhance the incomprehensibility of Beckett s works. Not only does Beckett fail to specify a time period, the element of time passage becomes unfathomable, implying the same about the world in which we live. Waiting for Godot opens with the ... These articles came from different time periods in which there was a need for change in music. The artists discussed in these articles took a chance, and experimented to create a new sound that the audience enjoyed. When comparing the articles, one can determine that they are similar. On Wax looks at the introduction of new music and technology in the 1920s that revolutionized the music industry. Analysis Of Thin Slicing Having watched an interesting movie about the Navy SEAL (Sea, Air, and Land) Team such as Lone Survivor or any other movies about wars, has anyone of us thought about how those task force teams could deal with the hot situations they encounter while doing their jobs? How can they make decisions that quickly so as to survive in those circumstances? According to Malcom Gladwell, the author of Blink, human beings have an ability to make unconsciously quick decisions, which is called thin slicing, in every split second. Gladwell s concept of thin slicing is defined as the ability of our brain to pick out key patterns within a limited amount of data or experiences and then make snap judgment, or quick decision, based upon those patterns. However, this does not mean that our judgments can always be right. This only means that the process of thin slicing is unconscious, instant and automatic. This process helps people solve problems quickly or predict consequences in a short amount of time without knowing that they are doing it. There are right judgments and there are also mistakes that being made every day. As illustrated in the text, the first task of Blink is to convince you of a simple fact: decisions made very quickly can be every bit as good as decisions made cautiously and deliberately. Sundiata became a captive member of the Soso, he lived with the leader of the Soso (see Sundiata Keita of Mali ). When he was seven years old, Sundiata began to become stronger. He learned how to walk and started exercising every day. In just a few years, he changed himself into a strong warrior. He was determined to free Mali from the Sosos and fled into exile. While in exile, Sundiata became famous as a feared warrior and fighter. After several years, he decided to return to Mali in order to make Mali a better place. Malcolm Mclaren was the owner of a shop called quot;Sex quot; in Kings road, which sold Bondage gear and punk items. The client also requsted from us to not just advise him/her on what type of concrete to be used, but also to give him/her a broad understanding of the different types of concrete . Some of the aspects that will be discussed in this report are as follows: 1.Special concrete and its application 2.Admixtures 3.Types of extenders This report will also contain our detailed recommendation in the form of foundation, floor slabs, columns and beams. It is important to look at the soil conditions and weather conditions for example temperature and other factors that could have an negative effect on the concrete. Before doing the design and classifying the concrete to be used a site investigation should be done and testes required should be carried out. The design has a massive impact on the concrete that would be used. For the purpose of this report I would assume a site with good soil and no clayed partials were found. Before we start we should get a better understanding of what concrete is its positives and negatives its strengths and its weaknesses. Strength of concrete is dependent on a number of factors; one of the most important factors is the cement water ratio. The lower the ratio is, the higher the final strength of the concrete would be. First let s talk about, what is an electronic medical record. An (EMR) Electronic Medical Record consist of standard medical and clinical data gathered in the provider s office which include a more in debt patient history. EHRs are created to hold and distribute information from all providers dealing with patient care. EHR data can be created, managed, and advised by authorized providers and staff from across more than one health care organization. EHRs is another name for digital paper chart that hold all of the patient s medical history from one practice. While expanding daily, electronic medical records are becoming extremely popular. Research shows that some healthcare organizations continue to be reluctant to purchase electronic record programs. The pressure on hospitals, clinics, systems, physicians and other providers to get with the program is outstanding. Cost is a major concern for single practitioners, which are least likely among physicians to adopt EHRs. EHR systems are not cheap by any means. Physicians have to weigh the cost of not only creating, but supporting their own IT structure and applications as well. The option to decide to use external vendors to provide the services is given also. Consideration of cost include purchase price, coordination cost, monitoring cost, and negotiating cost along with upgrade costs, and governance cost. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Suddenly I stumbled right into a clearing of lush moss with a towering old oak right in the middle and a small crevice running around it, and marvelous view of the sunrise. The place I had, by chance, wandered into was simply beautiful. So for this I named it Great Tree, the greatest place in my forest. My forest is a small three acre plot of beautiful woodland with a variety of tree species and a few secrets tucked away. The outer edge of almost any forest is quite thick and hard to break through so entrances are necessary, and my forest has three of them, one at the top one at the middle and another one right at the bottom. The top one is newest with some of the small trees still in a pile off to the side. The trail leading from the entrances curves a good amount because of a pile of large rocks and a long dead cedar tree. The trail quickly disappears because that area is rarely traveled and forgotten. The second trail is the most used one starting by an old weathered and scratched wooden swing. Then a few feet along a muddy walkway to a huge pointed flat stone with a portion of the tip broken. Just last week I was telling my Sr Director that we only have 3 6 months of work planned and we should create a 2 year roadmap. She said, What if our plans change? I replied, That s okay, at least we have a foundational planto work from. I remember from Org Behavior class that when we wait for others to make decisions for us, we lose power. My leader is waiting for direction on what we should do next. We have to tell our Sponsor, the President, what we should do and why. I also learned I like to take charge and influence. I m interpersonal and read others well, and ensure to pay attention to others needs. Some of my areas needing improvement are my needfor micromanaging and believing in wrong and right. My problem area is that my expectations of others are too high. I have had a leader in the past that told me this. I led upward a lot during that relationship and many times, he let me down. He said my expectations of him were unrealistic. We had to lay ground rules for our working relationship on how he would lead me best. I didn t need direction. • 44. A Leader Who Doesn t Have Knowledge Of The Best Person As... Leadership is a term on which no one can reach a consensus as it carries a different meaning and weightage for each individual. Some people may consider a person as their leader who is capable of taking them away from hardships or caring for them, or some people may consider a man steeped in wisdom and learning to be a leader. Difference notwithstanding, there still seems to be some commonality in all the perspectives behind the definition, which is related to choosing a best of the best person as their leader. The simple bottom line is that, nobody wants to have a person as his leader who doesn t have knowledge of the needs and aspirations of his people or who is not blessed with a certain temperament foe bearing hardships for his people, nor a vision for where they should be or how they should grow and influence the world around them. As the founder of tech startup, it is only natural for me to pick a leader who is a true technological visionary. It was not enough to simply pick someone who created innovative products, or created and ran a billion dollar company. For me it would have to be someone with the vision to shape the future and world around him, a person who could see how his works would directly impact the trajectory of the world and its impact on the human race at large. As long as nurses perform to the best of their ability, patient satisfaction will increase. In nursing, the management process consists of gathering data, planning, organizing and administrating staff, leadership, and control. Viewed as a management activity, the allocation of staff entails the maintenance of a proper workers to work ratio and is therefore essential for a favorable outcome (Fagerstrom, 2009). Leadership is influencing people and in contrast, management involves influencing employees to meet goals and is focused primarily on organizational goals and objectives (Huber, 2010). A few contrasts are mentioned within the textbook reading. The leader focuses on people, whereas the manager focuses on systems and structures. A leader innovates whereas a manager administers.
