Basketball is a team sport where two teams of five players each try to score by shooting a ball through a hoop elevated 10 feet above the ground. The court is divided into offensive and defensive zones, and points are scored by shooting the ball through the hoop or making free throws after being fouled. The basic way to advance the ball is by dribbling or passing while the other team tries to steal the ball through rebounds, steals, or blocking shots.

basketball, game played between two teams of five players each on a rectangular court, usually indoors. Each team tries to score by tossing the ball through the opponent’s goal, an elevated horizontal hoop and net called a basket.
The only major sport strictly of U.S. origin, basketball was invented by James Naismith (1861–1939) on or about December 1, 1891, at the International Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Training School (now Springfield College), Springfield, Massachusetts, where Naismith was an instructor in physical education.
James Naismith
James Naismith
For that first game of basketball in 1891, Naismith used as goals two half-bushel peach baskets, which gave the sport its name. The students were enthusiastic. After much running and shooting, William R. Chase made a midcourt shot—the only score in that historic contest. Word spread about the newly invented game, and numerous associations wrote Naismith for a copy of the rules, which were published in the January 15, 1892, issue of the Triangle, the YMCA Training School’s campus paper.
While basketball is competitively a winter sport, it is played on a 12-month basis—on summer playgrounds, in municipal, industrial, and church halls, in school yards and family driveways, and in summer camps—often on an informal basis between two or more contestants. Many grammar schools, youth groups, municipal recreation centres, churches, and other organizations conduct basketball programs for youngsters of less than high school age. Jay Archer, of Scranton, Pennsylvania, introduced “biddy” basketball in 1950 for boys and girls under 12 years of age, the court and equipment being adjusted for size.

Narrated Business Proposal for the Philadelphia Eaglescamrynascott12
Slide 1:
Welcome, and thank you for joining me today. We will explore a strategic proposal to enhance parking and traffic management at Lincoln Financial Field, aiming to improve the overall fan experience and operational efficiency. This comprehensive plan addresses existing challenges and leverages innovative solutions to create a smoother and more enjoyable experience for our fans.
Slide 2:
Picture this: It’s a crisp fall afternoon, driving towards Lincoln Financial Field. The atmosphere is electric—tailgaters grilling, fans in Eagles jerseys creating a sea of green and white. The air buzzes with camaraderie and anticipation. You park, join the throng, and make your way to your seat. The stadium roars as the Eagles take the field, sending chills down your spine. Each play is a thrilling dance of strategy and skill. This is what being an Eagles fan is all about—the joy, the pride, and the shared experience.
Slide 3:
But now, the day is marred by frustration. The excitement wanes as you struggle to find a parking spot. The congestion is overwhelming, and tempers flare. The delays mean you miss the pre-game excitement, the tailgate camaraderie, and even the opening kick-off. After the game, the joy of victory or the shared solace of defeat is overshadowed by the stress of navigating out of the parking lot. The gridlock, honking horns, and endless waiting drain the energy and joy from what should have been an unforgettable experience.
Our proposal aims to eliminate these frustrations, ensuring that from arrival to departure, your experience is extraordinary. Efficient parking and smooth traffic flow are key to maintaining the high spirits and excitement that make game days special.
Slide 4:
The Philadelphia Eagles are not just a premier NFL team; they are an integral part of the community, hosting games, concerts, and various events at Lincoln Financial Field. Our state-of-the-art stadium is designed to provide a world-class experience for every attendee. Whether it's the thrill of game day, the excitement of a live concert, or the camaraderie of community events, we pride ourselves on delivering a fan-first experience and maintaining operational excellence across all our activities. Our commitment to our fans and community is unwavering, and we continuously strive to enhance every aspect of their experience, ensuring they leave with unforgettable memories.
Slide 5:
Recent trends show an increasing demand for efficient event logistics. Our customer feedback has consistently highlighted frustrations with parking and traffic. Surveys indicate that a significant number of fans are dissatisfied with the current parking situation. Comparisons with other venues like Citizens Bank Park and Wells Fargo Center reveal that we lag in terms of parking efficiency and convenience. These insights underscore the urgent need for innovation to meet and exceed fan expectations.

2. Basketball Court 1 Basketball is a team sport. Two teams of five players each try to score by shooting a ball through
a hoop elevated 10 feet above the ground. The game is played on a rectangular floor called the court, and there is a
hoop at each end. The court is divided into two main sections by the mid-court line. If the offensive team puts the
ball into play behind the mid-court line, it has ten seconds to get the ball over the mid-court line. If it doesn't, then
the defence gets the ball. Once the offensive team gets the ball over the mid-court line, it can no longer have
possession of the ball in the area in back of the line. If it does, the defence is awarded the ball.
The ball is moved down the court toward the basket by passing or dribbling. The team with the ball is called the
offense. The team without the ball is called the defence. They try to steal the ball, contest shots, steal and deflect
passes, and garner rebounds.
When a team makes a basket, they score two points and the ball goes to the other team. If a basket, or field goal, is
made outside of the three-point arc, then that basket is worth three points. A free throw is worth one point. Free
throws are awarded to a team according to some formats involving the number of fouls committed in a half and/or
the type of foul committed. Fouling a shooter always results in two or three free throws being awarded the shooter,
depending upon where he was when he shot. If he was beyond the three-point line, then he gets three shots. Other
types of fouls do not result in free throws being awarded until a certain number have accumulated during a half.
Once that number is reached, then the player who was fouled is awarded a '1-and-1' opportunity. If he makes his
first free throw, he gets to attempt a second. If he misses the first shot, the ball is live on the rebound.
Each game is divided into sections. All levels have two halves. In college, each half is twenty minutes long. In high
school and below, the halves are divided into eight (and sometimes, six) minute quarters. In the pros, quarters are
twelve minutes long. There is a gap of several minutes between halves. Gaps between quarters are relatively short.
If the score is tied at the end of regulation, then overtime periods of various lengths are played until a winner
emerges.
Each team is assigned a basket or goal to defend. This means that the other basket is their scoring basket. At
halftime, the teams switch goals. The game begins with one player from either team at centre court. A referee will
toss the ball up between the two. The player that gets his hands on the ball will tip it to a teammate. This is called a
tip-off. In addition to stealing the ball from an opposing player, there are other ways for a team to get the ball.
One such way is if the other team commits a foul or violation.

4. Positions
There are 5 positions in basketball such as:
.Player one is called the point guard so usually the best ball dribbler.
.player two is called shooter guard witch manly does what point guard
does.
. Player three is called small forward. Not necessarily a great ball
handler, but normally the team's best perimeter shooter. A good
shooting guard.
.player 4 is called Power Forward Has muscles or at least a little bulk.
Must be able to catch passes and hit shots near the basket. A
good, rugged rebounder, but athletic enough to move with some
quickness around the lane on offense and defence
. Player 5 is called centre/post the tallest player on the team. Should be
able to post up offensively.
