Kingspan products were used for the roofing and wall panels at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar. Specifically, a Kingzip SF standing seam roof system covered 98,000 square meters and flat panels were used for the walls. The Kingspan products provided benefits such as being thermally efficient, weatherproof, allowing faster construction, and having fire safety qualities. The Kingzip SF was able to meet the design requirements of creating unique roof curves. Overall, the Kingspan panels were a good fit for the project needs.

Why Pune Metro project has become a matter of great concern is because despite serious issues, DMRC’s Pune Metro DPR was blindly approved by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) without any independent study, transparency and public consultations. Subsequently PMC has also approved a proposal to grant 4 FSI in the Metro influence zone of 500 mtr on either side of Metro corridor. It is necessary that Citizens should have information about the Metro and 4 FSI plans so that they can form own opinion regarding whether they would want these plans to be implemented.

Queens University Project Showreel
The new Student Hub at Queen's University in Belfast, UK utilized Corten steel hook-on cassettes to create a visually striking building envelope that is also highly energy efficient. The design team worked closely with Kingspan to select products that met the design requirements and tight construction schedule. The Corten steel facade will weather naturally over time to form a protective rust coating while also tying into the industrial heritage of the area. The new building provides an iconic heart for the campus without compromising the historic architecture.

- 3. 2014 Transforming a Vision Located in Qatar, Hamad International Airport planned to become one of the Middle East’s new aviation hubs. The Hangar was designed to function as the central maintenance facility for Qatar Airways. Kingspan’s Kingzip SF Standing Seam Roof System was chosen for this project and covers an impressive area of 98000m². The Kingzip SF sheets were used in a cover width of 400mm and coated in Metallic Silver. 3Hamad International Airport Doha, Qatar
- 4. 2014 Technical Challenges There were many design and construction challenges that needed to be overcome during the installation of this project. It was critical that the panels installed were thermally efficient, fire resistant and weatherproof, especially during the summer months. KingZip SF is an FM and UL approved, advanced ‘zip-up’ standing seam system that creates a continuous weathertight roof. The side laps are ‘zipped-up’ in conjunction with a unique halter system thatis fixed directly to the supporting structure without penetrating the external weather sheet. This method of secret fixing creates a structurally sound roof construction that provides excellent resistance to wind uplift. 4Hamad International Airport Doha, Qatar
- 5. 2014 Faster Construction Kingzip SF can be manufactured on site using very long sheet lengths, significantly increasing the speed of construction. The sheets used on Hamad International Airport were 121 metres long, and enabled a swift and efficient construction. The Flat panels installed on this project also increase the speed of construction. These panels can be quickly and easily installed and reduce build time by up to 50%. 5Hamad International Airport Doha, Qatar
- 6. 2014 Ultimate Flexibility Kingzip SF can be supplied smooth, embossed, crimp curved, concave or convex smooth, curved, tapered, wave formed or tapered and smooth curved. For this project, the Kingzip SF was chosen to create the unique curves in the roof and to replicate the vision in the design brief. Kingzip SF is available in a variety of different finishes and Hamad International Airport were able to select a coating which perfectly suited the requirements of the project. 6Hamad International Airport Doha, Qatar
- 7. 2014 Sustainable Solutions By using Kingspan’s Flat panels, there was less steelwork required for the construction of this project. These panels can achieve a green guide A+ rating and significantly reduce plant and lifetime operating costs for a company.
