Gawadar Port is located in Balochistan, Pakistan along the Arabian Sea. It is strategically located to capture transit trade from Central Asian Republics. The development of Gawadar Port started in 2002 with Phase I involving construction of berths and infrastructure to handle vessels up to 30,000 DWT. Phase II will further expand the port's capacity and develop ancillary facilities on a BOT basis. Completion of both phases will make Gawadar Port one of the world's most strategically located ports, able to serve as an alternative port for Pakistan and boost regional trade.
