The Mauritius Ports Authority aims to transform Port Louis Harbour into a regional hub for container transshipment, bunkering, cruise activities, and port services, with growth targets for container throughput and bunkering activities. Ongoing projects include expanding the container terminal and dredging for improved capacity, with significant development expected by 2020 and beyond. The port also seeks to enhance cruise tourism and improve infrastructure in alignment with a comprehensive master plan through to 2040.
