been used to create specific soundtrack elements
Setting
This scene is set at Michaels house after he discovers that the military have invaded
his home and he has killed them all, or so he thinks. The music fits in with this
setting as Michael does not know if his family have been murdered and the music is
fast paced which states he must hurry to see if his family are ok or save them.
I believe this audio has been created using VST.
This is because the sounds sound computerized
and don’t sound like other pieces performed with
traditional instruments.
Mood
The main mood here is tension and anger. Michael displays his anger as he rushes
upstairs to save his family. The fast paced and repetitive music capture this very well
as in a way it symbolizes Michaels heartbeat as he doesn’t want his family to be
dead, so it can be quite tense to find out how they are. The music then begins to
slow down and become more peaceful, then stop as Michael finds his family.
The fading out of the music and intensity of it
greatly convey the mood as I believe they show
Michaels panic.
Game genre
GTA 5 is a free-roam action role playing game. It is mostly filled with action scenes
involving explosions, shooting and destruction. I believe the music at the start of this
scene fits with the games genre as it is quite tense and filled with trepidation. The
player has just shot through a big action scene and is very unsure of what has
happened to Michaels family.
Michael has just returned home after helping a friend with a mission. To his
surprise, the military are surrounding his house where his family are. In an attempt
to save them, Michael rushes in gunning down everyone in the yard. He then runs
upstairs where a soldier hits him by surprise and Jimmy, his son, attacks the soldier
and knocks him unconscious. The music here shows panic which is displayed in the
narrative when Michael sees the military and when Michael enters his house, the
music gets slightly louder as Michael is closer to his family.
The music here is very fitting for them mainlyaction game. It is fast paced, repetitive and
aggressive and most action films and games use
music like this when important scenes show.
Narrative
The VST audio produced fits with the narrative as
the player is very unsure of what will happen to
Michaels family. They could be dead or even
kidnapped, so it keeps the player on edge and the
music fits in very well to do this.
