GROUP TASK: ‘THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE’
We’re going to start reviewing our previous knowledge of English, i.e.
what you remember from last year through photography…
To do that, you’ll imagine you’re English photographers and you’ll
distribute in groups of four to take photos of things related to the list below. In
case you don’t find any object related to the list in the classroom, you can find
them at home or anywhere else, or even you can draw a picture of the objects in
particular. The next day, you’ll have to give a short presentation of some of your
photos to the rest of the class.
LIST
Take two or three different photographs of…
1. Food you are crazy about
2. Food you hate
3. Objects related to your favourite school subject
4. Something related to the sports you practice.
5. Something in relation with sports you would like to practice this year.
6. Something related to the football team you support.
7. The most environmentally friendly transport, according to your group.
8. Something related to the most exotic country in the world, according to
your group.
9. Something about the nicest country in the world.
10. Something that can be described with a negative adjective, in your
opinion (e.g. clock = inevitable; referring to the time which flies because
that’s inevitable!)
11. Something that can be described with a positive adjective, in your opinion
(e.g. playground = fun; because during the playground’s time, you have
fun with your friends)
12. What’s the weather like today?
13. The weather you love (rainy, cloudy, sunny days…)
14. Your favourite place/ building of Badalona (the Magic’s cinema, a park…)
15. Something in relation with your favourite celebrity (a singer, actor/
actress…)
16. Something that makes close reference to your favourite book.

ORAL PRESENTATION
Your oral presentation should be approximately about 5 MINUTES per group.
Remember that the GROUPS will be OF 4 people and that everybody in your
group MUST SPEAK in ENGLISH!
You must introduce yourself and talk about these points:
1. What’s your name?
2. Where do you come from? / What’s your nationality?
3. How old are you?
4. How do you do?
5. What time do you get up on Sunday mornings?
6. How do you travel to school?
7. When is your birthday?
8. Why are you learning English?
9. Choose two or three of your best pictures, or the pics you like the most.
Explain them to the class (what can we see in the pictures?, what do they
represent?, why do you like these pictures?, why did you choose these
objects?, …)
10. Compare different pictures using comparative and superlative forms
(e.g. In this picture we can see that two girls are singing because it
represents my love for music, while in the other pic we can see two girls
playing basketball because this shows my classmate’s- Mark’s- favourite
sport. In my opinion, basketball is a healthier activity, although for me,
the best hobby is singing because music is my passion!)
11. Finally explain why you chose the pictures of your presentation and
compare your reasons and your classmates’ reasons to choose them
(e.g. Mark chose the photo of a sunny beach because for him the most
enjoyable weather is the hot summer weather. In contrast, I chose this
picture of rain because I find rainy days more relaxing than scorching
summer days.)
