suspense created is a convention
followed for this genre.

the unknown atmosphere linked with
the crime thriller genre.
The way the character subtly pulls
out the gun from his jacket pocket
conveys that violent action could be
taking place. This connects with the
criminal side of the genre.
The split screen shot conveys that
these two characters are talking to
each other possibly plotting
against someone reflected through
previous shots. This connects the
narrative to the genre.

This is because the text is in a soft, timeless font which isn’t usually associated with this specific genre. The setting in this shot imitates stereotypical angles and location of a crime thriller. This is because it is set in a tight alley and the camera is located behind a wall which could represent that the audience shouldn’t be able to see him.
  • 3. The style of the high angled shot aiming down onto the two female characters reflects a sense of mystery which connects with the conventions with the crime thriller genre. The setting of this shot in a closed room reflects that the location could be concealed from the audience for specific reasons. Also, the gun in conjunction with the phone on the table could suggest that the woman is waiting for someone to call. The suspense created is a convention followed for this genre.
