Scene 1
This screen shot establishes the setting of our thriller and one of the themes of
isolation as the shot is of a rural esc house common in the isolated country side; it
also shows a faint outline of the main character which establishes the theme of
identity as the audience will want to know what the character looks like.

This screen shot is still establishing the setting as out the window you can see
trees which links to the country side and isolation, it also continues the theme of
identity as you can’t see the characters face.

This shot along with the sequence that comes after links to the psychological
aspect as the main character can sense a presence under the bed that isn’t really
there and this camera angle is used to make the audience feel more engaged with
the thriller.

This screen shot is used to link a murder being at the core of the narrative which is
common in most thrillers. It also creates an enigma as there is a clip of shoes being
but in a bin which is a clue to the murder being covered up and you want to know
who’s shoes they where

This shot links to the theme of identity and enforces the enigma as you almost get
to see the main characters face but the scene cuts just before the reveal teasing
the audience.

This shot links to a murder being at the centre of the narrative as the character
knocking on the door is supposed to be a police officer investigating the murder
and it also creates an enigma as the audience isn’t sure who this character is and
they want to know who they are.
