Bang
The movie opens up with an animated sequence showing an
establishing shot of a dark looking city, which quickly pans to the
right to reveal more silhouetted buildings. The pan continues to the
right until it shows a tall fence, presumably a prison fence, and a man
climbing over the top and escaping.
As the silhouetted man runs away from the fence, a pair of female
eyes open in the sky and look towards him. This abstract imagery
show than he is constantly being watched, possibly by a potential
femme fatale. As he keeps running, he eventually runs into what
looks like a move studio. The movies title ‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’ then

2. appears on an orange background, each word appearing with a
gunshot sound effect.
The scene then pans down to reveal another silhouette, this time of a
woman holding a gun, again indicating to the inclusion of a femme
fatale. The scene then zooms out to reveal what looks to be a cinema,
and a hand holding a gun, which presents the implication of a murder
and a mystery suspect.

3. Vines of a plant then begin to appear from the barrel of the gun and
proceed to travel upwards into the shot, until the orange background
is replaced with black, and the vines fill the whole screen. The vines
then open up to reveal a house which is hosting some sort of party.
The scene then goes to the inside of the house, showing many
silhouetted party guests as it pans across the room, and eventually
makes it to a balcony. The balcony is shown to be crowded with
many silhouetted people, and shows the silhouette of a woman stood
on her own away from the crowd. A hand then extends from the
crowd and pushes her over the balcony, which shows the iconic
inclusion of a murder linked to film noir.

4. The next shot shows a blank background, in which paragraphs of text
begin to form in different sizes and angles, which could hint to the
typical use of newspaper articles in the noir genre.
The news articles then turn into silhouettes oh men holding guns,
which are also splattered in blood and covered in kiss marks, which
would either indicate a murderer or a possible victim to a femme
fatale.
The screen then fades to an orange colour and shows black
silhouettes of buildings, which slowly pans. The fact that the
buildings are all silhouettes symbolized the mysterious and possibly
dark nature that the city truly holds in store for the main character.
The scene then ends.
