In planning their Twilight parody swede, one member wrote scripts for the scenes and interview questions to save time. They storyboarded 50 shots but had to change the ending due to time constraints. They filmed using a camcorder and flip cam. In editing, they used iMovie and Final Cut Pro, though Final Cut Pro took longer due to inexperience. They distributed it through social media like Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr to reach their target 14-17 year old audience. The swede received 105 views while extras like the trailer and bloopers received fewer views.

2. PLANNING
In order to save time discussing each shot we would use when we
started filming I decided to save time and do all the initial planning
myself. I wrote up the scripts for all the videos we shot including the
interview with Kevin where I wrote out his questions as well as his
responses to each question, this gave him an idea of what route to
take when he answered the questions. He didn't read exactly what
was scripted which was useful for playback as it gave a more natural
response. I also created a 50 shot storyboard however for issues with
time we had to scrap majority of it and change the ending in order to
be finished in time and to go into the editing process.

4. SCRIPTING
In order to capture the true essence of twilight and Bella and
Edwards characters I watched the trailer again and again for two
days and used specific lines from the film and manipulated them into
something I believed to be funny. I used the fact that most actors are
in love with themselves and exaggerated it slightly when Edward
stares at his reflection as he speaks to Bella.
I think the use of the mirror was quite effective in terms of humour
because it’s a common fact that vampires have no reflection, the
mirror kind of suggests that twilight isn't a film to be taken seriously
in the first place. It highlights the fact that Twilight in many ways
made the idea of vampires rather pathetic like the sparkling in the
light kind of makes a mockery of the entire film. Just like the mirror
o in our swede.

5. Technologies - Filming
Technologies:
Camcorder with a tripod so the shots don’t look shaky or bent, and also it was easier to adjust the
right height and angle for shots such as over the shoulder.
We used a flip cam to film the interview with Kevin to try out something new and have a variety of
technologies and also because it was quicker and easier as it was only needed for a short interview.
• The angle used in filming the interview was the type of angle the majority of interviews are
recorded
Filming:
The filming took place on site in a location where we could find most greenery so it would resemble
one of the original famous movie scenes.
We did not concern ourselves with the precision of angles from the original movie such as Edward
clearly looking down and instead we filmed Kevin from the side with his hand on the tree.

6. Editing
Editing, putting together the sequences to create the final product before it
would’ve been shown to the public.
Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Garage Band and Soundtrack Pro.
Due to insufficient skills in Final Cut a lot of time was sacrificed therefore it
took longer to make.
We used iMovie to put together the interview as we were more familiar with
it which made it quicker to make.
Fade in/out for questions and shots of Kevin, colour, text customisation to
create a more interesting video with different effects.

7. DISTRIBUTION
We used a method of “Simultaneous release.” to help get our swede
out to the general public. We used social networking platforms in
order to reach our desired target audience (14-17 year olds.) We used
the most popular sites like “Facebook” and “Twitter” because we
knew we’d be able to appeal to a wider audience that fitted with the
age group that we were trying to focus on.

8. Q: How did your film literally get
from your hard drive to the audience
Chronologically, In these steps..
• Connected to IMac –
• Edited the footage down to it’s final piece
• Saved it
• Uploaded the final swede + bloopers
It took a while to mesh all these steps together, none of us had really used Mac’s before
so under those circumstances, editing and uploading this Swede, I think as a group we
did pretty well.

9. Q: How useful was the internet
when showcasing work?
The internet was extremely easy to use for showcasing the
swede because the options we had were so big, and the
platforms were so huge, that any site we used already had a
huge following; for example..
