Introduction:-
• The greenhouse effect is the process by which radiation
from a planet's atmosphere warms the planet's surface to a
temperature above what it would be without its atmosphere
• The term 'Greenhouse Effect' refers to the way certain
gases trap heat in the atmosphere, much as the glass in a
greenhouse prevents rising warm air from escaping.
•Enhancement of this effect by human activity - not the
effect itself, which is entirely natural - has experts worried.
In fact, Earth, 93 million miles from its energy source - the
sun - would be about 32° C colder if certain atmospheric
gases did not trap heat. We probably owe existence of life
on this planet to the greenhouse effect.
There are two types of greenhouse effect…
Natural Greenhouse Effect
Artificial Greenhouse Effect Or
Man-Made Greenhouse Effect .
Earth is much colder than the sun, but it is warmer than the space
outside its atmosphere. Earth's atmosphere is made up of gases, and
these gases allow some solar radiation to reach the planet but also
absorb some of the heat radiating from the planet, trapping it and
radiating it back downward to the surface. This cycle is called the
greenhouse effect, because it is similar to the warming process inside a
glass-walled greenhouse. Earth's atmosphere traps enough heat to keep
the entire planet warm; without it, the average temperature of the
Earth's surface would be much colder than the freezing point of water,
about 0 degrees F
Natural Greenhouse Effect
Volcanic activity contributes to
creation of greenhouse gases.
Artificial Greenhouse Effect
A greenhouse is a house made of glass. It has glass wall and glass roof . People
grow tomatoes , flower and other plants in them . A greenhouse stays warm inside,
even during in winter . Sunlight shines in and warm the plants and air inside . But
the heat is trapped by the glass and can’t escape. So during daylight hours it gets
warm and warmer inside a greenhouse , and stays pretty warm at night to . Due
to artificial greenhouse people can grow plant in the off season too.
Artificial Greenhouse Effect
Causes Of Greenhouse Effect …
There are three causes for greenhouse effect :-
 Greenhouse Gases
 Ozone Layer Depletion
 Formation Of Clouds …….
A greenhouse gas is a gas in an atmosphere that
absorbs and emits radiation within the thermal
infrared range.
The primary greenhouse gases in Earth’s atmosphere are
water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide,
