This document summarizes a student project that investigates using granite cutting dust (GCD) and steel fibers to create an economical and stronger concrete. The project will test different replacement percentages of sand with GCD and steel fibers to determine optimum amounts. Tests will examine the composite material's compressive strength, tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, flexural strength, corrosion resistance, acid resistance, water absorption and sorptivity. If successful, the concrete could be used for industrial flooring, pavements, tunnel linings and other applications.
One of the major adventures of civilization is construction .With the passing times in growth of population, today construction activity is at its peak .Even with the advancement of technology the quality of construction largely depends upon the ingredients used to construct any building. One such ingredient is sand, which is one of the most essential components to give shape to the dreams of the people. Natural sand has been the main source of fine aggregates, since man began to use concrete and masonry. The fact remains undisputed that the river sand that has been produced by rivers in natural processes has not increased for ages. Down the years, these river sand deposits have been exploited to the fullest extent. This indiscriminate exploitation causing almost an irreversible damage to the river system are leading to ecological damage, ground water depletion, water scarcity and fall in farm production. Above all, illegal quarrying and use of filter sand is nothing but playing with human lives. Most of the state governments of India are imposing environmental ban on the dredging operations and all sand quarrying operations in most of the areas. This leads to the development of another latest technology, alternative to the river sand –ROBOSAND

India has an enormous growth in the industry of steel and copper. These industries produce hazardous by products like ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS). If they were not disposed off properly, they may cause hazards to the atmosphere. Considering the long term performance and stability of structures, this study suggests replacing some percentage of cement withGGBS to develop high performance concrete. This paper presents an experimental investigation to know the use of GGBS in concrete as a replacing agent of cement.. To accomplish this 53 grade Ordinary Portland cement were used in preparing concrete mix with a w/c ratio of 0.40 with suitable superplasticizers. In order to confirm the use of GGBS as a replacing agent tests were conducted. Cement was replaced with 0% to 40% with GGBS respectively. Concrete control specimens without replacement were also cast for comparison. After casting the cube moulds specimens were tested for various tests likecompressive strength test, tensile strength test, flexural strength test.

River sand is becoming scarce and meeting the demand
of fine aggregates in the construction industry is becoming a
challenging task. In this investigation an attempt is made to
utilize gold ore tailings as a partial substitute for river sand in
producing concrete. River sand is replaced with 5%, 10%, 15%,
20% and 25% gold ore tailings and the resulting fine aggregates
were used in concrete mix and it is compared with conventional
concrete. Mix proportions for M20 concrete were obtained for
five mixes as per guidelines given in IS: 10262-2009. Workability,
compressive strength and flexural strength are reported. The
strengths were obtained at the ages of 3, 7 and 28 days.
Compressive and flexural strength increased marginally from
5% to 15% replacement. There is a slight decrease in the
corresponding compressive and flexural strengths at 20%
replacement. Good correlation was observed between
compressive strength and flexural strength. It was observed that
the addition of gold ore tailings that would replace the fine
material at particular proportion has displayed an enhancing
effect on mechanical properties of concrete. This investigation
proves that gold ore tailings can be used as a partial substitute
for river sand in preparing concrete.

Aggregate is one of the main ingredients in producing concrete. It covers major portion of the total for any concrete mix. The strength of the concrete produced is dependent on the properties of aggregates used. However, the construction industry is increasingly making higher demands of this material because of which it may result in scarcity or unavailable in the future. Hence need for an alternative coarse aggregate arises. The aim for this project is to determine the strength and durability characteristics of structural concrete by replacing coarse aggregates with Dolochar (Scrap material obtained from the manufacturing process of sponge iron), which will give a better understanding on the properties of concrete with these aggregates. The scope of this project is to investigate the possibility of using Dolochar material as an alternative material to coarse aggregate in structural concrete. The experimental investigation were carried out using detailed strength and durability related tests such as compressive strength test of cubes, acid resistance test and Permeability tests were conducted by replacing the coarse aggregates in concrete mixes by Dolochar. Tests were also conducted on the concrete testing cubes for 3,7 and 28 Days. From the experimental investigation it was found that Dolochar material can be used as an alternative for coarse aggregate in concrete However further investigations have to be made to study long term effects.

When the automobile is sold to the customer, stock will be reduced automatically. When a new purchase is made, stock will be increased automatically. While selecting automobiles for sale, the proposed software will automatically check for total number of available stock of that particular item, if the total stock of that particular item is less than 5, software will notify the user to purchase the particular item.
Also when the user tries to sale items which are not in stock, the system will prompt the user that the stock is not enough. 3. INTRODUCTION
• Granite Powder is an byproduct produced in granite factories while cutting
into desired shapes
• Granite belongs to igneous rock family which is having compressive strength
more than 200 Mpa
• Granite industry produces around 18 million tons waste per annum
• The physical properties of GCD is more similar to the natural sand hence it
can be used in replacement to natural sand
• GCD is locally available waste material hence it is possible to make
economical concrete

• Steel fibres are small piece of reinforcing material are introduced in concrete
to increase its tensile strength
• There are different types steel fibres such as Crimped and Hooked end
• But in my project it is proposed to use hooked end type fibres
• Introduction of steel fibres lead to arresting of propagation of cracks
• Generally the aspect ratio ranges from 30 to 150 (l/d)

• Water is used to easy cutting of granite stones so the dust is mixed up with

• It is advised to weathering of GCD before using it in concrete as replacement
to sand
