Financial Systems and Auditing
Financial Systems and Auditing:
Contributing to the planning and conduct of an audit assignment and preparing audit reports.
Q 1
Report on the auditing function
(i) Legal duties and status of auditors
1. A company s auditor shall I preparing their report, carry out an investigation:
whether proper accounting records have been kept by the company and proper returns adequate for
their audit have been received from brunches not visited by them
whether the company s individual accounts are in agreement with the accounting records and

The audit is conducted in accordance with auditing standards and guidelines as issued by the
auditing practices board. Materiality
Materiality is an expression of the relative significance or importance of a particular matter in the
context of the financial statements as whole.
A matter is material if its omission would reasonably influence the decisions of an addressee if the
auditors report; likewise a misstatement is material if it would have a similar influence.
The auditors will normally attempt to set materiality levels at the planning stage of the audit.
The main reason auditors consider materiality at the planning stage is to help them to put audit risk
into context. Risk
Before preparing the audit plan, the auditors should appraise the risk of material errors and
regularises having taken place. (Financial difficulties of the client; known problems with internal
controls)
(b)
Risks:
1. Old accounting system. Relies on manual input to transfer orders.
Impact
There is a lack of assurance that the input was properly stated. The amount might be reduced or
increased in benefits of the person who makes an order transfer.
Reason for choosing
The risk above was chosen because it one of the important risks which the mangers and the owners
of the company should try not to meet with.
2. Errors have been known to occur.
Impact
The following errors might have occurred in the result of an inaccurate

Critical Disability In Titus Andronicus
Some say revenge is a dish best served cold, but in Titus Andronicus this dish is served piping hot
and bloody. One of the literary themes presented is critical disability study. Critical disability is
when somebody stands out from the norm. One study talks about being socially disabled and not
being able to fit in with the rest of the group in the story. Another study talks about the definition of
normality, and how those who don t fit into that category affect the story as a whole. Another story
talks about how being disabled in a certain way acts as a catalyst for a character and fuels their
actions from then on. In Titus Andronicuseach of these forms of critical disabilityare present. Titus
and Lavinia are both crippled in a multitude of ways physically. However, there are other
characters who have a disability that cripples them; Aaron the Moor, Tamora queen of the goths,
and Saturninus the Emperor. They are crippled in different ways through their views and
actions. These crippled characters are a major part of the story. If they were not present or the
things that crippled them were not present then the story would not be viewed in the same light.
Looking at physical disabilities, there is the loss of Lavinia s hands and tongue. Before her
incident she is evidently vibrant and full of life. There is one scene where the emperor, who just
said he was going to marry lavinia, hits on Tamora and even tells Lavinia that Tamora is more
beautiful and she makes a snide

Gender Identity In Lou Reed s The Velvet Underground
The bizarre, avant garde music of the Velvet Underground was too much for the family friendly
mainstream of the mid sixties. While the Beatles were performing two minute pop songs, and the
Rolling Stones were covering blues numbers, Lou Reed, the lead singer and primary songwriter of
the Velvet Underground, was composing experimental art rock on such topics as heroin, sexual
deviancy, cross dressing, and hedonism. His strong interest in literature influenced his songwriting.
Reed claimed he wanted to bring the sensitivities of the novel to rock music . His lyrics depicted
the Underground , the misfits and social outcasts on the fringes of society that mainstream culture
shunned. Four particular aspects of the Underground referenced in Reed s... Show more content on

During a period in the seventies, Reed had a transgender Mexican girlfriend. As a teenager, his
parents subjected him to electroconvulsive therapy due to his sexuality. He said of the treatment,
They put the thing down your throat so you don t swallow your tongue, and they put electrodes
on your head. That s what was recommended in Rockland State Hospital to discourage
homosexual feelings. The effect is that you lose your memory and become a vegetable. You can
t read a book because you get to page 17 and have to go right back to page one again. . It s not
difficult to realize where his nihilistic attitude came from. He also wrote the song, Kill Your
Sons , during his solo career to express his indignation with the treatment. A line from the Velvet
Underground song, New Age , deals with the theme of bisexuality: It seems to be my fancy to
make it with Frank and Nancy . A reference such as this is so subtle that few people might catch
it at first. Nonetheless, it is an example of how Reed sprinkled his sexuality throughout his
music. The third verse of Walk on the Wild Side references Little Joe, a bisexual prostitute and
patron of Andy Warhol s Factory: Little Joe never once gave it away / Everybody had to pay and
pay / A hustle here and a hustle there . Little Joe, along with the aforementioned Holly, Candy, and
Jackie were called superstars at the Factory. They

Ronaldo s Acceptance Of Goods By Benjamin
5.Ronaldo s acceptance of goods by Benjamin
Here arises the issue of whether Benjamin had the authority to sale the cargo to Ronaldo. It can be
claimed that there are two opinions on this subject.
On the one hand Benjamin never became lawful holder of the shipment under s.19(3) of SOGA
1979 and as a result he had no right on the goods property. This fact and in combination with
s.21(1) gives no property to Ronaldo.
On the other hand Ronaldo can rely on s.25(1), as Benjamin did not notice him regarding his
previous transaction with Maurice. Benjamin got the cargo from Maurice in good faith33, which
also happened with Ronaldo receiving the same Bill of Lading from Benjamin in line with the
definitions given in s.2(1) s.2(4), paying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, if we take the view that property had not passed to Benjamin, then s.39(2) also
gives Maurice the right of stoppage of the goods as s.41(c) s.44 confirm that the unpaid seller
Maurice has exercisable rights on the goods. However, what confuses the case is that Benjamin
had already sold the cargo to Ronaldo. If Maurice had taken action against Benjamin prior to the
re sale, then no such issue would have arisen, as the property would be an issue between these two
parties which means that Maurice could exercise his aforementioned rights against him , but now a
third person has the title of the goods and has nothing to do with the conflict between Benjamin
and Maurice since he acted in good faith. Accordingly, under s.43(1)(b) Maurice s rights on the
cargo cease to exist, since Ronaldo lawfully obtained the bill of lading by Benjamin. In support of
his statement s.47(2)(a) also provides that no lien, retention or stoppage can be exercised on the
consignment.
To sum up, since the action against Benjamin was effected after Ronaldo had acquired the title of
the goods, Maurice had no right on the cargo.
8.Stoppage in transit Letter of indemnity Non delivery of the goods
According to the definition of the transit period in s. 45(1) SOGA 1979, the goods were in transitu
when the transactions between the involved parties took place.

What Are Companion Parasites
Companion Animals and their Companion Parasites
1.Abstract
Companion animals and their parasites are discussed. Dog parasites are given majority of the
focus with some information on what parasites are exactly as well as how they can be transmitted.
One parasite is given more of an insight, the roundworm, it is a parasite common to dogs but it can
also be found in cats, humans and many other species.
2.Introduction
Companion animals are the hosts for many different parasites. Animal parasitism is a way of
life in which a parasite species is living in or on a host species to support its livelihood (Olsen,
Animal Parasites Their Life Cycles and Ecology, 1974). As the host species will cater for the
parasites needs in terms of food and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Several sub topics can be identified when discussing companion animals and their companion
parasites. One of which focuses particularly on dogs, what parasites they are susceptible to, how
they fall victim to these parasites, how to identify and treat them, which is the most common
parasite to dogs and can dogs pass their parasites to other animals or possibly even humans.
The most common parasite found in dogs is the roundworm (Ascaris Lumbricoides). Roundworm
will typically affect puppies before they are born when in the womb, or after they are born when
drinking their mother s milk. When drinking the mother s milk the puppy is actually consuming
larvae of the parasite in the form of very small eggs. Roundworm can only be transmitted passively.
This means that they will need to be consumed by the next host if transmitted to another dog. The
dog could contract the parasite through eating another small mammal that has an infestation such as
a mouse or bird. Figure 1 Image showing the lifecycle of the roundworm in a dog host, notice how
the parasite is adapted to be transmitted externally from one host to the next, this must mean that the
parasite is also adapted to survive in unfavourable conditions while waiting to obtain another host.

Is Competition The Best Amount Of Competition For Our...
Have a minute or two? Good, sit down and relax. Because while reading this it may take a few
minutes just to change your opinion about competition. Competition could build character, but on
the downside, it could leave someone with low self esteem or business competing against another
to knock out that business to increase its own sales while taking away jobs from others. Being
competitive could cause a person blind to notice another person s point of view. In the article The
Case Against Competition, Alfie Kohnstates that competition stands for that particular person or
group can succeed, if and only if, everybody else must fail while doing an activity. The best amount
of competition for our children is none at all (Kohn). Furthermore, being competitive may bring low
self esteembecause if a child isn t particularly great in a sports other children in the same sport
may identify him or her as not being useful or trying hard enough; Another way a child could
harbor thoughts that he or she must win to make others proud such as, friends, coaches,
companion, and family. For an example, in the article, The Case Against Competition, Alfie
Kohn had spoken to a young boy, Kyle, who started to play tennis at a young age, but when Alfie
heard a question that was asked directly to Kyle during the end of the show, someone in the
audience asked him how he felt when he lost. Kyle lowered his head and in a small voice replied,
Ashamed. (Kohn) A child may observe or think that,

The core responsibilities of operations managers tend to be similar across many industries. The
planning of various company operations and activities is another major concern of the operations
manager. Operations managers tend to determine which products are bought and sold, what prices
they are bought or sold for and to whom they will be marketed. The operations manager also helps
plan and coordinate activities between various departments such as determining what types of sales
promotions the company will engage in. (Chron.com) Operation managers add value to a company
s products or services by ensuring that business operations are efficient in terms of using as few
resources as needed, and effective in terms of meeting customer requirements. An operations
manager typically ensures smooth operation of various processes that contribute to the production
of goods and services of an organization. (Buzzle.com) http://www.buzzle.com/articles/operations

Hester Prynne And Mary In The Scarlet Letter
The character of Hester Prynne was written as a modern day image of the Virgin Mary. There are
many similarities and things that happen that support this statement. Nathaniel Hawthorne
describes Hester as a beautiful woman which is how Mary is described in the Bible. The young
woman, perfect elegance on a large scale. (Hawthorne 46).The Major difference between these
Hester and Mary is that Hester s adultery is being compared to virgin purity and how the public

Land O Lakes Marketing Strategy

December 2, 2010
Marketing In business, it is essential for management to understand the role and importance of
marketing to his or her organization. Management utilizes marketing tools to satisfy the needs of
customers, and to gain a better understanding of the product itself. The goal of this paper is to
discuss and analyze the distribution practices of Land O Lakes butter. In review of the distribution
practices, I will also attempt to show the importance of knowing and understanding the product you
are marketing.

In retail, an example would be in department stores; a salesperson can push or recommend a
particular product. Pull marketing refers to an attempt to get the consumer to come and see what
product or service your organization is offering. The consumer is enticed so to speak, by the
promotions and advertising being presented. Land O Lakes used the pull method of marketing to
promote the new butter spread with olive oil, with a commercial of an Olive painted with cow
markings, and created the Colive . The promotion included a free coupon to try the spread.
Wheel of Retailing Wheels of retailing is a hypothesis of M.P.McNair that explains the patterns of
change in retailing. It is new types of retailers who cut prices by lowering or eliminating customer
services, once established, the retailer increases prices and customer services. During this process
the retailer becomes vulnerable to the next low priced retailer.
Types of Wholesalers The U.S. Bureau of the Census defines wholesalers as: The activities of those
persons or establishments which sell to retailers and other merchants, and or to industrial,
institutional, and commercial users, but who do not sell in large amounts to final consumers. It is
important for marketing managers to understand the role of the wholesaler. There are ten types of
wholesalers. The merchant wholesaler owns the products he or she is selling. The general
merchandise wholesalers are

Employment of Illegal Immigrants
Employment of Illegal Immigrants Employment of illegal immigrants in the United States, as
well as other countries has been a highly controversial subject for many years now. There are
many people living in various countries around the world that are unhappy with the way they are
living, and want something more out of life than what their country can offer. Due to their
unhappiness, they decide to immigrate to another country, and this is usually done illegally. Once
they are in their preferred country, which a lot of the time is the United States, they are forced to
work in low skilled jobs because higher skilled jobs require people to speak fluent English and
show proof of residency. Although many people view illegal migrants as a... Show more content on

There has been many laws and regulations passed, to try and prevent illegal migrants from
working in the United States. In all states, businesses Are required by federal law to check the
legal status of all new hires. They must fill out federal form 1 9 to show that each worker holds
federally acceptable residency documents, like a driver s license or social security card (Speizer
1). Although they must do all of those things, they are not required to check the authenticity of the
documents. In Arizona that has all changed, a new law has been passed that makes it mandatory
for all employers to participate in E Verify in which information from 1 9 documents can be
checked through databases at the Social Security Administration or the Department of Homeland
Security (Speizer 2). This used to be something businesses could voluntarily partake in, but has
now become mandatory in Arizona. Under this law they have created harsh punishments for
employers who knowingly hire undocumented migrants. One of these harsh punishments includes
the loss of the employer s business license, if it is a reoccurring issue. They hope that this new
law will decrease the amount of undocumented workers in the state and create more jobs for their
own U.S. citizens. I do not believe that employment of illegal immigrants is a problem in our
country in any way. Over half of the jobs

How European Law ( Eu And Echr ) Has An Impact On The Uk
Better off out or in?
Gaining an insight on How and Why European Law (EU and ECHR) has an impact on the UK
can be challenging. Before overcoming this obstacle it is advised to acquire basic knowledge on
the founding treaties and those currently in force. The sources of law and their effect will analyse,
whether the UK should remain a part of the European Union or not.
The end of WW2 resulted in the creation of an intergovernmental organization The United Nation,
promoting Peace and Human Rights. In 1946, the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill
announced we must build a kind of United States of Europe . Those actions undoubtedly sparked a
new sense of enthusiasm across Europe and demonstrates Britain s influence on the community.
In 1948 Britain,France,Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg creating a unified defence
alliance after signing the Brussels Treaty and the UN adopted the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights.
An unclear soviet strategy boosted the desire to strengthen military alliances and led towards the
establishment of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation in 1949
The Council of Europe, was founded in 1949 to provide advice and promote legal standards, human
rights, democratic development, the rule of law and cultural co operation.

Analysis Of Hemingway s Big Two Hearted River
Although Ernest Hemingway and John Burroughs belonged to different generations and wrote in
different times, Hemingway s Big Two Hearted River (BTHR) and Burroughs A Bed of Boughs
(ABOB) share a particularly intimate connection. Both Hemingway s and Burroughs works are
underlined with spiritual depth and exactitude. The fishing narratives of both Hemingway and
Burroughs, are embedded with precision, and praise for the natural world. Hemingway s BTHR
parallels John Burroughs ABOB in both journey and spirit; both writers find joy, and renewal
through love for natureand total immersion into their landscape. Although, Nick s journey is a
remarkably similar one to Burroughs, Hemingway as a modernist must move beyond the condition
of John Burrough s pre war perspective in order to reconcile with the post war trauma and face the
tragic condition of the modern world. John Burroughs explains the importance of love, nothing can
take the place of love... love sharpens the eye, the ear, the touch; it quickens the feet, it steadies the
hand....What we love to do, that we do well. To know is not all; it is only half. To love is the other
half (The Art of Seeing Things 4). John Burroughs was an American naturalist and writer during the
mid to late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. His essay, The Art of Seeing Things discusses
the differences in levels of observation and the importance of both attentiveness and love within the
context of the natural world. Burroughs

Controversia Conversion Therapy Research Paper
Conversion therapy goes by many names, such as reparative therapy, Sexual Orientation Change
Efforts (SOCE), and ex gay therapy, but all are geared towards the same end result: to eradicate
homosexuality as a whole, even if it may be completely natural to the individual. Despite the
common belief, homosexuality is not an illness. In fact, it was declassified as a mental illness
from the ICD 10 in 1973. However, there are several organizations dedicated to the very purpose
of treating it as one. While it may seem like an antiquated topic, the issue is still being debated and
even encouraged to this day, despite its lacking ethical standing.
Conversion therapy s core beliefs are deeply rooted in outdated, obsolete, and unfounded ideals. In

Shapiro and Dinske(2009) stated that this equation could enable geoscientists to know how fast
the pressure generated by the introduction of fluid is travelling into the rocks to be broken.
Meanwhile, this equation can only be applied to a homogenous, isotropic medium but in real life,
geologic media are hydraulically heterogeneous. For this case, times greater than t0(time at
beginning) are considered because if the injection stops at t0, the earthquakes and tremors will
gradually cease to occur. These times (t) also describe the propagation of a maximal pore pressure

Langenbruch and Shapiro(2015) stated that seismic events occur in rock sections with high Young
s Modulus and low Poisson s ratio. Young s modulus refers to the ratio of amount of stress to strain
while Poisson s ratio is the ratio of lateral strain to longitudinal strain. They stated that a significant
amount of rock stress originated from elastic rock heterogeneity, and that the heterogeneity index of
rocks indicates these rock sections. Langenbruch and Shapiro(2015) concluded that seismicity
induced by fluid injection can be of two ways. One is by the shear reactivation which explains the
linear diffusion seismicity explained previously and the other is by tensile opening which only
occurs when the minimum effective stress becomes tensile. The reactivation probability of a
preexisting fracture is given by CFS calculation which involves cohesion, shear and normal stress,
coefficient of internal friction and pore pressure. If CFS is greater than 0, the fault is in a stable
state; if CFS is less than 0, the fault is unstable and if CFS is equal to 0, failure occurs. According
to Langenbruch and Shapiro(2015), a test was conducted where only the friction coefficient and
cohesion were kept constant while the other parameters were altered. This was done because there

How Did Walt Disney Create Mickey Mouse?
The public is filled with Disney products and endorsements. Disneyland is known as the happiest
place on Earth and all in thanks to the creator, Walt Disney. Children now look up to Disney as a
source of hope, faith and inspiration for the future. Disney left behind tracks to what a child needs
to grow and to become happy with the idea that magic exists. His first creation was brought to life
by placing upon the name Mickey. It is interesting to note that Mickey Mouse started out as an

Oswald character when in 2006 the Walt Disney Company reacquired the rights to Oswald the
Lucky Rabbit from NBC Universal. (Bellis, 3).
Mickey was created as a replacement for Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. In the spring of 1928,
Disney asked Ub Iwerks to start drawing up new character ideas. Iwerks tried sketches of various
animals, such as dogs and cats, but none of these appealed to Disney. A female cow and male
horse were also rejected. They would later turn up as Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar.
Walt Disney got the inspiration for Mickey Mouse from his old pet mouse he used to have on
his farm. Mickey Mouse popped out of my mind onto a drawing pad 20 years ago on a train ride
from Manhattan to Hollywood at a time when business fortunes of my brother Roy and myself
were at lowest ebb and disaster seemed right around the corner. (Disney, 5). Hugh Harman drew
some sketches of mice around a photograph of Walt Disney. These inspired Ub Iwerks to create a
new mouse character for Disney. Mortimer Mouse had been Disney s original name for the
character before his wife, Lillian,

the Indians exchanged wolf and beaver pelts for guns, ammunition and alcohol. This relationship
had lasted more than 20 years, and during that time, the Blackfeet armed with guns had been able to
dominate their Nez Perce and Shoshone rivals.
Eight Blackfeet warriors encountered Meriwether Lewis and a party of the Corps of Discovery in
July 1806. After their initial fears of the armed strangers had subsided, the Indians decided to camp
with the Americans. During this first day and night, Lewis explained the United States intent to
bring about a comprehensive peace between all the Indian tribes of the west. He went on to add
that the Shoshones and Nez Perces mortal enemies of the Blackfeet had already agreed to this
peace, and would be receiving guns and supplies because of it.
To the Blackfeet, American plans represented a direct threat. As far as the Indians were concerned,
giving guns to their adversaries only could result in a weakening of Blackfeet power. That night,
the Blackfeet attempted to steal the expedition s guns. Their plans went awry, and in the chaos that
ensued, Lewis and Reuben Field each killed a Blackfeet warrior. The incident marked the first act

Soy Candles: Eco Friendly and Better for Your Health
If you love candles the way that I do, then you probably have plenty of them around at all times. I
generally have at least one scented candle burning in my home (as long as I m home, that is!).
Unscented candles are also a welcome accessory in my living environment. They can immediately
brighten any room, and they come in a broad range of shapes and sizes to match the mood and
moment. In fact, I usually burn unscented candles when I have guests with allergies or with
particular sensitivity to scent.
Unfortunately, many people are also sensitive to any kind of traditional candle. Such candles may
emit pollutants into the environment, and they may also trigger allergies in some people. ... Show

By blending two or more hues, you might concoct some amazing shades, including dark orange,
midnight blue, turquoise, pale maple, olive green, and salmon pink. Let your inner creativity go
wild with this step you could discover a hue unlike any other you ve seen!
Step Three: Add the Fragrance Oil (Optional)
If you plan to use fragrance oil in these candles, this is the time to add that. I usually add about .02
to .04 kg of fragrance oil to .45 kg of soy wax. Stir the fragrance oil as thoroughly as the dye. I m
going to use blueberry because I have been craving blueberry pie recently, and I d rather satisfy
that urge with pretty candles and keep my waistline as it is!
Combining Fragrance Oils
Combining fragrance oils is as much fun as blending hues. You might try any of hundreds of
concoctions. A few that seem to be particularly popular at this time of year are: candy cane and
chocolate, gingerbread and vanilla cream, and holly berry and pine.

it s written as if by a student of acting, reporting on a year of training. It makes clear how much
more there can be to acting than just pretending to be someone else . Unfortunately I kind of lost it

Neurodevelopmental treatment deals with proprioceptive and Kinesthetic
perceptious as they relate to functional movement patterns. These
approaches provide training in the perceptual processing components of
functional behavior with perceptual drills or specific sequences of

These are the common assumptions underlying the adaptive and
remedial treatments used currently. Occupational therapy s perceptual

A) Sensory integration

Three of these approaches sensory integration, transfer of training,

In the sensory integration and neurodevelopmental approaches,

Athletes From Different Callings And Sports
Athletes from different callings and sports have many differences, but one thing they have in
common is the diet that is required for peak performance. The chance an athlete has of being the
best at his/her specific sport is a thin line between all the other athletes they are competing
against. For them to be successful they will need to make sure their body is performing at its top
potential, and to do that the athlete will need to have a diet that keeps them going. The human
body is like a machine or vehicle. That machine must have the right kind of fuel to work at its
peak. It doesn t matter what sport an athlete is playing, the nutritional diet is just as important as

In other words carbohydrate intake will vary from 5 to 10 grams per kilogram of body weight per
day with training of at least one to five hours. If you are an athlete that burns a lot of energy and
you are not replacing that energy through carbs, than you will not perform at your optimal levels.
Carbohydrates are not the only nutrient that is dependent on the activities you do. Protein and fat
intakes are also based on how active the workouts and everyday lifestyle is.
Power
Although it is not much different from the endurance diet, the standard ratio for power athletes
is 55/25/20 (Wood, 2016 p. 1). The same can be said about power sports or power lifters. It is not
so much based on a standard amount of carbs/fat/protein ratio than it is on the activity that is
being performed with it. Now your typical power workouts do not burn as much energy as
endurance workouts, so they will not have as much difference in the nutrient ratios that are brought
in. What is meant by this is, the difference in the ratios is that each individual will not be as
different as they would with an endurance workout. Most of your power athletes are working on
strength and power, and their weight or size will not make much of a difference. The only thing that
will be different is the amount of weight that is being lifted during the workout. When dieting it is

assists in the imaging process. Having self confidence not only helps, when and how well you
explain your vision, but, can help in developing an advanced vision (Sosik Dinger, 2007). Sosik
and Dinger (2007) state that confident leaders are able to portray their idea in a way that
facilitates trust, necessary for implementation. This is something that I have always struggled
with, I have always doubted my ability and skills. This makes me shy a way of sharing ideas and
for fighting for them. On placement, I would often use language that was discouraging of
myself as a social work practitioner and my skill set. My supervisor stated, that I need to be

near my final stages of my degree, self confidence is a characteristic that I need to really further
develop. This is because, there is a need as a professional, to be confident in my own practice, in

On one hand, Hobbes had a more pessimistic inference of human nature and thought that it was
principally bad. In his work, The Leviathan, he suggests, as said before, that all men are equal, but
he argues that this equality brews the desire of obtaining something. Sometimes, this thing can only
be attained and enjoyed by one person. Consequently, people become enemies. Furthermore, he
insists that without a common power to maintain them, they are in a condition called war. This
conflict provoking state leaves no room for productivity and prosperity, proclaims Hobbes (Collier

collaborate with one another. In his work, Of Civil Government, Locke writes that men living
according to reason, without a common authority to decide between them, is properly the state of
nature. Additionally, he argues that God has given man reason to exploit and thereby achieve
optimal convenience. Likewise, he thinks that nothing made by God is created to be damaged or
spoiled, so, he claims, that there is room for conflict if reason is exercised (Collier

Get Out Racism Analysis
Get Out Racism
Get out is an American horror film directed by Jordan Peele. The film is based literally on the
racism. A black African young man Chris (Daniel Kaluuya), a photographer and his white
girlfriend Rose (Allison Williams) went to visit her parents house. Chris is worried on the fact
that her parents doesn t know that Chris is black because her parents are liberal racist. Chris finds
out that her family has a black servant who seems like they are forced to do the work or being
controlled by their parents.
In the beginning of the scene where deer get hits from the car, the camera literally focuses on Chris
shoes as he walks closer to the deer to find out if the deer is dead or not. Chris is wearing a blue

they had killed someone. But, by researching on blue shoelaces I found out that it is used to

Kingdom Of Heaven Research Paper
The Unrevealed Truth
In this essay I will be summarizing the myths to the truths, of the movie Kingdom of Heaven to
the real life history facts. Therefore Hollywood changed the facts to myths. I will be focusing
on the longbow creation, relationships, and killing Arabs. In the movie Kingdom of Heaven, the
longbow was used in the time of the movie. Unfortunately the longbow was really invented
around 1180 C.E.. Created by the Celts in Wales. Which the longbow was not really used by the
English military until the 1300s. A longbow is a an incredibly strong piece of wood roughly 6
feet tall and 5/8 inch wide. The longbow started becoming a great, well known weapon. The
Hundred Years War was where the longbow really showed its strength. In some of the war s most
decisive battles the longbow was the weapon that turned the tides. One memorable example: The
Battle of Crecy War.
Relationships in the movie Kingdom of Heaven was not one hundred percent accurate. There is

necessities and thus can afford to pay more taxes, unlike those with lower incomes. In other
words, a progressive tax helps the government gain revenue to support its society. As a result of
people with higher incomes paying more money to the government, access money can go to
those people who can t afford to help themselves. In addition, it helps create programs for
medical services, fund public education, housing assistance and other welfare programs. This
revenue enhances the opportunities for its lower and middle class citizens (History and Debate
of Progressive Tax). Nonetheless, some conservatives think that progressive tax is socialist
wealth redistribution and state theft because of what the access revenue is put towards.
Conservatives also think that progressive tax is unacceptable because it creates a sense of class
warfare, where the poor and rich don t get along with each other because of the large gap they
have in taxes. They also believe the current progressive system hurts wealthy business owners
because they are the ones who create jobs, therefore they are vital to the economy and shouldn t
have to pay more because of their success. Many liberals still believe that the

What Does Fate In A Prayer For Owen Meany
Fate is a common theme in many cultures, with people either attempting to rebel against it or
embracing it. However, throughout these stories, people very rarely break away from their
destiny. A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving is a story where fate is heavily involved, with
the main character Owen Meany receiving visions of the futureand accepting his destiny. Owen
Meany demonstrates that fate is inescapable, and should be embraced. Unlike most stories
involving fate, A Prayer for Owen Meanydoes not focus on God or divine power, and is instead
closer to magical realism. Throughout the novel, the author withholds information, constantly
changes the time as he is narrating, and has many people do not believe in the miracles of Owen
Meany. A Prayer for Owen Meany can fit in many categories, but with these aspects of magical
realism, it is the best genre to put it in.
The story is told as Johnny narrates it, looking back on his childhood, and he includes any
stories he believes are important to understanding the development of himself and Owen. While
telling these stories, he constantly changes the part of his childhood he is talking about. Besides
the sudden jumps in years, Johnny also skips over days or even weeks at once, not bothering to
explain what happened during that time. At one point, he is talking about how he could see
Owen was at least as high as the palm trees (Irving 626). In the very next sentence, he skips
presumably weeks ahead, to talk about how Major Rawls saw to it that Owen Meany got a
medal (Irving 626). Time being nonlinear is an aspect of magical realism, and with all the jumps
and skips, the timeline is very strange and a little difficult to piece together. The jumping of time
also plays into the theme of fate a little, as fate is all about the future. Telling the future before
previous events are explained makes the reader feel like Owen, knowing some of the future but
not the events that lead up to it. Not knowing information is also an aspect of magical realism, and
several major subplots involve the past the author keeps hidden. For two thirds of the book, and ten
years of his life, Johnny does not know who his father is, or what unspeakable outrage the Catholic
church

1.0 History of methyl mercury
The first organic mercury compounds were studied in the 1800s, with serious incidences of
methylmercury poisoning reported in 1865. Initial reports indicated a divergent symptoms
associated with methyl mercury poisoning. The symptoms include: loss of coordination, tunnel
vision, deafness, extremities, impaired speech and altered face sensation. Approximately a century
later, contrary to the decreased methylmercury effects, the clinical picture re emerged. Therefore,
development of more harm to human health was suspected. However, international agreement to
control pollution by mercury was not reached until 2009. According to the historical evaluations
made, the effects of methylmercury toxicity such as forgetfulness, lack of coordination affected
the research on environmental health (Bernhoft, R. 2011). In 1914, methylmercury developed a
commercial significance as it was used as a crop fungicide. However, the use of the fungicide
globally was accompanied by several incidences of food and workers

Pollution In Air Pollution
Demolition and Construction sites are bad when it comes to the control of particulates causing an
increase in air pollution. The particulates can be emitted by the process of knocking down or
disturbing the building letting the particulate free and get into the air reducing the quality. If the
workers do not manage what they are doing correctly, it can have harmful impacts on not only their
health but the communities and the environment. At times enforcing the laws and good practice
can be expensive and very disruptive. The legislation includes things like Identifying activities that
create pollution, Environmental risk assessment, selecting low emission materials and getting the
right training and using the proper methods. But what is classified as particulates and what are
they? They can be very broad but things such as Dustand asbestos from knocking buildings down
that can float away causing harm to the environment, and people s health, motor vehicle emissions
and smoke from power tools also can have a significant impact.
There are many ways in which emissions can be controlled including things such as Demolition
workers can Water down the building as they are knocking it down to weigh down the
particulates. Using the water to weigh down particualtes can be harmfull, as if the workers use
to much water to weigh down this particualtes it can cause run off. This run off can end up in the
river sytems and throw this way the particualtes can polute and cause harm to the enviroment
and the animals in th eater. Workers can also time it to the wind, i.e. on windy days don t do
work that will cause a lot of particulates to float around. They can even be aware of the
environment in which they are working in and know the restrictions and the history s (mainly for
older homes) of other houses to get a broader idea if the particulates cause more harm than a newer
house might. For things such as Sanding, grinding and welding the workers can also use water to
weigh down the particulates or use a type of grad method to trap the particulates. There are many
more methods to different kinds of activities that may occur, but they are all mainly using the same
type of techniques.
But on the other hand, implementing these

To What Extent Is the Conservative Party Still Committed...
TO WHAT EXTENT IS THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY STILL COMMITTED TO ITS
TRADITIONAL PRINCIPLES?
Since 1979 the conservative party has undergone significant changes from the traditional
conservative party which focused on ideas about human nature, order and pragmatism, first with
new right conservatism under Thatcher then with the current conservative party. The current
conservative party however, can be seen to still be committed to its traditional conservative
principles such as Euro scepticism and that they remain largely traditionalist. However there are
many ways in which the conservative party has changed such as taxation, education and the welfare
state.
One way the conservative party has changed is through taxation. Traditionally, the... Show more

Another way the party has deviated from traditional conservative principles is through education.
In contrast with the traditional elitist view on education by the conservatives, under Cameron
there has been a strong emphasis on the idea that everybody should be able to go to university if
their ability allows them too, supporting labours policies on scholarships to students from
disadvantaged backgrounds and also attempting to establish more apprenticeship jobs and work
experience jobs to encourage young people who perhaps wouldn t go to university to learn skills
that would provide a better future for them. However, the fact remains that the vast majority of
Cameron s conservatives graduated from private schools which does make the overview of the
party seem very elitist but, its policies and support for scholarship programmes seem to challenge
this idea and show that perhaps the conservative party has changed from that traditional view.
Another thing that shows that the conservative party has stuck to its traditional principles is the
fact that the party is still very traditionalist. The conservative party has always been very
traditionalist in its views and in many ways it still is today, little or no comment is made on social
issues such as gay adoption, the party

Morally Ambiguous Character In William Golding s Lord Of...
For a character to be morally ambiguous the reader cannot determine whether the character is
purely evil or purely good. Readers must take into account everything such as actions, dialogue,
descriptions, and interactions with other characters, weighing each as good or evil. William
Golding s Lord of the Flies portrays Ralph as a morally ambiguous character struggling to
repulse the innate beast within him and the boys. Ralph s morals are undetermined as the leader
on the island, the role he plays in Simon s death, and the civility he tries to maintain. Through
Ralph being the leader on the island, it shows him as a morally ambiguous character struggling
with man s innate evil. Ralph is clearly struggling to maintain calm when he says, I was chief,
and you were going to do what I said. You talk. But you can t even build huts then you go off
hunting and let out the fire (Golding 70 71). Ralph talks about him being chief in the past tense
as if he no longer is because from the ways the boys are acting, he does not feel that he is being
respected. Ralph is annoyed that instead of building shelter the boys play in the water and that
instead of manning the fire, the only chance for the boys to be noticed, they decide hunting is
more important than being rescued. Ralph means well by these orders, he wants to see that every
boy on the island survives. At the same time he is struggling to be calm and he is not doing a
good job at it. Also as the leader Ralph is not the one

who they might view as a better fit for President. Millennials in particular have been really
outspoken about the subject. According to an article in fortune.com Millennials gave Clinton less

Fuck, he s bleeding to death! (1:26) screams Jorge. Octavio accelerates on the gas even harder.
Octavio aggressively swerves through the congestion of cars. Octavio looks back and sees the
Dodge Ram directly behind their beater car. The man in the passenger seat of the Dodge pulls
out a gun and fires. Nervously, Octavio and Jorge duck. A school bus suddenly pulls up in front
of their car. Breaking abruptly, the bloody dog tumbles to the base of the car, and Octavio is
able to flee the scene. The Dodge is nowhere in sight. Octavio and Jorge shriek with excitement.
They run a red light. Another car suddenly appears from a corner, striking the two by surprise;
and violently crashes into the side of their car, initiating a brutal collision of destruction, flames,
and blood a great deal of blood. The striking collision opens the scene to Alejandro Inarritu s
Mexican thriller, Amores Perros(2000). This crash presents the link to three unrelated narratives that
are symbolically tied together by the chaotic lifestyle of the modern day metropolis of Mexico City.
Amores Perros is an enthralling film that captures the socio political themes regarding economic
instability, social class, and genderin contemporary Mexico City. Mexico City throughout the
twentieth century was undergoing major urbanization (Connolly). As a result, the overwhelming
influx of new inhabitants brought about economic chaos due to overpopulation, political disorder,

Analysis of Phineas and GeneВґs Friendship Essay
Competition and rivalry have the ability to make people shine and accomplish things they never
thought possible, and the ability to bring a person s dark side and get them to do terrible things.
Phineas and Gene s friendship is viewed very differently by each of them. Where Phineas sees
Gene as his best friend Gene sees Phineas as a competitor. Gene sees him as someone trying to
keep him from being successful in school. This warped view of their relationship is the cause of
many of the eventual problems of the novel and arguably the death of Phineas.
Competition between peers makes people strive to try and be better than their opponents, and can
be healthy or unhealthy depending on the competitors and their responses to the competition. ...

Sometimes this causes built up resentment and eventually could cause both of the friends to be
hurt because of one rash decision like shaking a tree branch. While only Phineas was physically
hurt Gene was in an emotional battle with himself about what he has done to Finny and what he
thinks of him. Eventually the other boys at Devon find out Gene shook the tree branch, which
causes them to lose respect of him. The thought of shaking Phineas out of a tree would have never
normally crossed Gene s mind but him viewing Phineas as a competitor instead of a friend made
the idea seem fine for the split second it took for him to shake the branch. The idea hit him just like
when he thinks about stealing the doctor s car. He only even thinks about shaking the limb for an
instant, a single life changing moment, and with some kind of blind impulse , as Phineas describes
it, he shakes the branch. In contrast when he idly considered stealing a car even if he thinks about
it for a second he can decide not to after the first few steps. Once the tree branch is shaken Phineas
fate is sealed. Competition and rivalry can cause people to replace trust in each other with
protection from each other and cause them to build up walls to separate and protect themselves
from their competitors. Not everyone constructs these fortresses of secrets and distrust. Some
people are open and trusting of

San Pizarro, A Spanish Explorer And Conquistador
Francisco Pizarro was a Spanish explorer and conquistador who is famous for conquering the
Inca civilization. He was known as being very ambitious and having exceptional leadership
abilities as well as navigational skills (Yost). All these skills were very useful and beneficial in
terms of helping him achieve his goal of crossing the ocean with a small army in order to obtain
the riches and wealth of the Incas. In my opinion Francisco Pizarrowas one of the great people who
determined and altered the course of history. The story of his life greatly supports my claim.
Francisco was born as an illegitimate child in Spain, in an area which was stricken by poverty
(Biography.com). The fact that he went from that to being one of the first... Show more content on

During their trip they discovered what we now know as the Pacific ocean, but Balboa spotted it
first which is why he is credited for its discovery (New World Encyclopedia). Pizarro had heard of
Hernan Cortes, who conquered the Aztec people and acquired a vast amount of wealth and power.
Pizarro wanted to do something just like that, so he set his sites on the Inca Empire in Peru, South
America. He had learned of the Incas through a rumor from the South American native peoples,
they told him of a vast empire full of precious metals (Yost).
Pizarro now begins to do what he did to change the course of history. In 1524 he took his first
expedition to South America to explore the land and people who lived there. It ended up being
very unsuccessful because of the many problems they had to deal with, such as bad weather,
lack of food, and conflict with the native people (New World Encyclopedia). In 1526 Pizarro set
up for a second expedition, which ended up being much more successful than the first. They
were able to go much more inland and saw the Incas and the riches that they possessed, which
supported what Pizarro heard before (New World Encyclopedia). Here is where things really
begin to change. Pizarro didn t want to take anymore chances, so for a third expedition he did
everything in his power to make sure it would go right. In 1532 Pizarro left on his third expedition
to South America and once he reached an Incan village, Pizarro asked to meet

Ancient Civilization And The Mayan People
Every ancient civilization had a set of beliefs and the Mayan people were no different. The
Mayan people believed in two worlds, the everyday world and the underworld, or the Place of
Awe, (2012). The Mayans believed in many gods, human sacrifice and the burial process for the
poor and the kings were very different. The Mayans became around 250 AD and the Olmec s
influenced their religious culture. It was not until 900 AD that the Mayans began to flourish in
cities across modern day Mexico, Guatemala and north Belize. One of the most important gods
for the Mayans was the supreme god Itzamana, the creator god, the god of fire and god of the
earth (2012). Itzamana is shown as a king who was in charge of minor gods. The God of
Itzamana is connected to the sacred world tree, or Ceiba tree, which for the Maya linked
together the sky, earth, and the underworld (2012). The Mayas believed in two worlds, the
everyday world and the underworld or place of Awe. The Mayan people believed that gods,
spirits and dead ancestors lived in the underworld. The person in charge of sending people to the
underworld was the main chief. Unlike some religions, the belief of the underworld for the
Mayans was very sad, dark, cold and a place where there where mean gods that would torment
them (2015). The Maya believed super natural levels not as heaven and hell, but the upper, middle
and underworld that consisted of many levels with the underworld being the lowest level. The

Emily Dickinson s I Heard A Fly Buzz When I Died
The Surprising Elements of I heard a Fly Buzz When I Died In some instances within literature,
writers surprise readers by incorporating ideas that the reader may or may not expect. Within
Emily Dickinson s poem I heard a Fly Buzz When I Died , readers are introduced to a ghostly
speaker that discusses the scene of their deathbed. Readers are exposed to many surprises
throughout various aspects of the poem. One aspect of the poem that surprises readers is the
relationship between the speaker and the fly .The first surprise involved in this relationship, is the
combined revelation of the fly and the speaker s death. As the poem begins, the speaker says to
readers, I heard a fly buzz when I died (Dickinson, 1). After reading that the speaker heard the
buzz of a fly, readers may expect the death of the fly or more detail on the fly itself. However, the
speaker hits readers by telling them that they heard the buzzing at the moment of their own death.
Dickinson is immediately telling readers that her poem contains supernatural elements that link
to the fly. This may come as a shock to readers, since they may ponder the significance of the fly
within the speaker s death, as it is not yet revealed by the end of the poem s first line. The
relationship between the speaker and the fly continues to be surprising, as the speaker describes
the fly as the power that controls their life (the gateway between life and death). The speaker says:
There interposed a Fly With

Just about enough. I ve had just about enough of this place and simply cannot take it any longer.
I look around me and see gray walls of concrete covering the entire perimeter of the room. An

the window to escape, but they put up bars to prevent that from happening. Again. Right now, I

The room in general is cold, damp, and dark. Aside from that, I just cannot take it any longer, but,
honestly, what can I do? I have tried to cut off the bars with my knives, which I snuck out of mess

Materiality Materiality is an expression of the relative significance or importance of a particular matter in the context of the financial statements as whole. A matter is material if its omission would reasonably influence the decisions of an addressee if the auditors report; likewise a misstatement is material if it would have a similar influence. The auditors will normally attempt to set materiality levels at the planning stage of the audit. The main reason auditors consider materiality at the planning stage is to help them to put audit risk into context. Risk Before preparing the audit plan, the auditors should appraise the risk of material errors and regularises having taken place. (Financial difficulties of the client; known problems with internal controls) (b) Risks: 1. Old accounting system. Relies on manual input to transfer orders. Impact There is a lack of assurance that the input was properly stated. The amount might be reduced or increased in benefits of the person who makes an order transfer. • 4. Critical Disability In Titus Andronicus Some say revenge is a dish best served cold, but in Titus Andronicus this dish is served piping hot and bloody. One of the literary themes presented is critical disability study. Critical disability is when somebody stands out from the norm. One study talks about being socially disabled and not being able to fit in with the rest of the group in the story. Another study talks about the definition of normality, and how those who don t fit into that category affect the story as a whole. Another story talks about how being disabled in a certain way acts as a catalyst for a character and fuels their actions from then on. In Titus Andronicuseach of these forms of critical disabilityare present. Titus and Lavinia are both crippled in a multitude of ways physically. However, there are other characters who have a disability that cripples them; Aaron the Moor, Tamora queen of the goths, and Saturninus the Emperor. They are crippled in different ways through their views and actions. These crippled characters are a major part of the story. If they were not present or the things that crippled them were not present then the story would not be viewed in the same light. Looking at physical disabilities, there is the loss of Lavinia s hands and tongue. Before her incident she is evidently vibrant and full of life. There is one scene where the emperor, who just said he was going to marry lavinia, hits on Tamora and even tells Lavinia that Tamora is more beautiful and she makes a snide ... • 5. Gender Identity In Lou Reed s The Velvet Underground The bizarre, avant garde music of the Velvet Underground was too much for the family friendly mainstream of the mid sixties. While the Beatles were performing two minute pop songs, and the Rolling Stones were covering blues numbers, Lou Reed, the lead singer and primary songwriter of the Velvet Underground, was composing experimental art rock on such topics as heroin, sexual deviancy, cross dressing, and hedonism. His strong interest in literature influenced his songwriting. Reed claimed he wanted to bring the sensitivities of the novel to rock music . His lyrics depicted the Underground , the misfits and social outcasts on the fringes of society that mainstream culture shunned. Four particular aspects of the Underground referenced in Reed s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During a period in the seventies, Reed had a transgender Mexican girlfriend. As a teenager, his parents subjected him to electroconvulsive therapy due to his sexuality. He said of the treatment, They put the thing down your throat so you don t swallow your tongue, and they put electrodes on your head. That s what was recommended in Rockland State Hospital to discourage homosexual feelings. The effect is that you lose your memory and become a vegetable. You can t read a book because you get to page 17 and have to go right back to page one again. . It s not difficult to realize where his nihilistic attitude came from. He also wrote the song, Kill Your Sons , during his solo career to express his indignation with the treatment. A line from the Velvet Underground song, New Age , deals with the theme of bisexuality: It seems to be my fancy to make it with Frank and Nancy . A reference such as this is so subtle that few people might catch it at first. Nonetheless, it is an example of how Reed sprinkled his sexuality throughout his music. The third verse of Walk on the Wild Side references Little Joe, a bisexual prostitute and patron of Andy Warhol s Factory: Little Joe never once gave it away / Everybody had to pay and pay / A hustle here and a hustle there . Little Joe, along with the aforementioned Holly, Candy, and Jackie were called superstars at the Factory. They ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Ronaldo s Acceptance Of Goods By Benjamin 5.Ronaldo s acceptance of goods by Benjamin Here arises the issue of whether Benjamin had the authority to sale the cargo to Ronaldo. It can be claimed that there are two opinions on this subject. On the one hand Benjamin never became lawful holder of the shipment under s.19(3) of SOGA 1979 and as a result he had no right on the goods property. This fact and in combination with s.21(1) gives no property to Ronaldo. On the other hand Ronaldo can rely on s.25(1), as Benjamin did not notice him regarding his previous transaction with Maurice. Benjamin got the cargo from Maurice in good faith33, which also happened with Ronaldo receiving the same Bill of Lading from Benjamin in line with the definitions given in s.2(1) s.2(4), paying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Additionally, if we take the view that property had not passed to Benjamin, then s.39(2) also gives Maurice the right of stoppage of the goods as s.41(c) s.44 confirm that the unpaid seller Maurice has exercisable rights on the goods. However, what confuses the case is that Benjamin had already sold the cargo to Ronaldo. If Maurice had taken action against Benjamin prior to the re sale, then no such issue would have arisen, as the property would be an issue between these two parties which means that Maurice could exercise his aforementioned rights against him , but now a third person has the title of the goods and has nothing to do with the conflict between Benjamin and Maurice since he acted in good faith. Accordingly, under s.43(1)(b) Maurice s rights on the cargo cease to exist, since Ronaldo lawfully obtained the bill of lading by Benjamin. In support of his statement s.47(2)(a) also provides that no lien, retention or stoppage can be exercised on the consignment. To sum up, since the action against Benjamin was effected after Ronaldo had acquired the title of the goods, Maurice had no right on the cargo. 8.Stoppage in transit Letter of indemnity Non delivery of the goods According to the definition of the transit period in s. 45(1) SOGA 1979, the goods were in transitu when the transactions between the involved parties took place. ... Several sub topics can be identified when discussing companion animals and their companion parasites. One of which focuses particularly on dogs, what parasites they are susceptible to, how they fall victim to these parasites, how to identify and treat them, which is the most common parasite to dogs and can dogs pass their parasites to other animals or possibly even humans. The most common parasite found in dogs is the roundworm (Ascaris Lumbricoides). Roundworm will typically affect puppies before they are born when in the womb, or after they are born when drinking their mother s milk. When drinking the mother s milk the puppy is actually consuming larvae of the parasite in the form of very small eggs. Roundworm can only be transmitted passively. This means that they will need to be consumed by the next host if transmitted to another dog. The dog could contract the parasite through eating another small mammal that has an infestation such as a mouse or bird. Figure 1 Image showing the lifecycle of the roundworm in a dog host, notice how the parasite is adapted to be transmitted externally from one host to the next, this must mean that the parasite is also adapted to survive in unfavourable conditions while waiting to obtain another host. ... • 8. Is Competition The Best Amount Of Competition For Our... Have a minute or two? Good, sit down and relax. Because while reading this it may take a few minutes just to change your opinion about competition. Competition could build character, but on the downside, it could leave someone with low self esteem or business competing against another to knock out that business to increase its own sales while taking away jobs from others. Being competitive could cause a person blind to notice another person s point of view. In the article The Case Against Competition, Alfie Kohnstates that competition stands for that particular person or group can succeed, if and only if, everybody else must fail while doing an activity. The best amount of competition for our children is none at all (Kohn). Furthermore, being competitive may bring low self esteembecause if a child isn t particularly great in a sports other children in the same sport may identify him or her as not being useful or trying hard enough; Another way a child could harbor thoughts that he or she must win to make others proud such as, friends, coaches, companion, and family. For an example, in the article, The Case Against Competition, Alfie Kohn had spoken to a young boy, Kyle, who started to play tennis at a young age, but when Alfie heard a question that was asked directly to Kyle during the end of the show, someone in the audience asked him how he felt when he lost. Kyle lowered his head and in a small voice replied, Ashamed. (Kohn) A child may observe or think that, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many similarities and things that happen that support this statement. Nathaniel Hawthorne describes Hester as a beautiful woman which is how Mary is described in the Bible. The young woman, perfect elegance on a large scale. (Hawthorne 46).The Major difference between these Hester and Mary is that Hester s adultery is being compared to virgin purity and how the public viewed these two characters. Pull marketing refers to an attempt to get the consumer to come and see what product or service your organization is offering. Land O Lakes used the pull method of marketing to promote the new butter spread with olive oil, with a commercial of an Olive painted with cow markings, and created the Colive . The promotion included a free coupon to try the spread. Wheel of Retailing Wheels of retailing is a hypothesis of M.P.McNair that explains the patterns of change in retailing. Employment of Illegal Immigrants Employment of Illegal Immigrants Employment of illegal immigrants in the United States, as well as other countries has been a highly controversial subject for many years now. There are many people living in various countries around the world that are unhappy with the way they are living, and want something more out of life than what their country can offer. Due to their unhappiness, they decide to immigrate to another country, and this is usually done illegally. In all states, businesses Are required by federal law to check the legal status of all new hires. They must fill out federal form 1 9 to show that each worker holds federally acceptable residency documents, like a driver s license or social security card (Speizer 1). Although they must do all of those things, they are not required to check the authenticity of the documents. In Arizona that has all changed, a new law has been passed that makes it mandatory for all employers to participate in E Verify in which information from 1 9 documents can be checked through databases at the Social Security Administration or the Department of Homeland Security (Speizer 2). This used to be something businesses could voluntarily partake in, but has now become mandatory in Arizona. Under this law they have created harsh punishments for employers who knowingly hire undocumented migrants. One of these harsh punishments includes the loss of the employer s business license, if it is a reoccurring issue. Analysis Of Hemingway s Big Two Hearted River Although Ernest Hemingway and John Burroughs belonged to different generations and wrote in different times, Hemingway s Big Two Hearted River (BTHR) and Burroughs A Bed of Boughs (ABOB) share a particularly intimate connection. Both Hemingway s and Burroughs works are underlined with spiritual depth and exactitude. The fishing narratives of both Hemingway and Burroughs, are embedded with precision, and praise for the natural world. Hemingway s BTHR parallels John Burroughs ABOB in both journey and spirit; both writers find joy, and renewal through love for natureand total immersion into their landscape. Although, Nick s journey is a remarkably similar one to Burroughs, Hemingway as a modernist must move beyond the condition of John Burrough s pre war perspective in order to reconcile with the post war trauma and face the tragic condition of the modern world. John Burroughs explains the importance of love, nothing can take the place of love... love sharpens the eye, the ear, the touch; it quickens the feet, it steadies the hand....What we love to do, that we do well. Despite the common belief, homosexuality is not an illness. In fact, it was declassified as a mental illness from the ICD 10 in 1973. However, there are several organizations dedicated to the very purpose of treating it as one. Shapiro and Dinske(2009) stated that this equation could enable geoscientists to know how fast the pressure generated by the introduction of fluid is travelling into the rocks to be broken. Meanwhile, this equation can only be applied to a homogenous, isotropic medium but in real life, geologic media are hydraulically heterogeneous. For this case, times greater than t0(time at beginning) are considered because if the injection stops at t0, the earthquakes and tremors will gradually cease to occur. Langenbruch and Shapiro(2015) stated that seismic events occur in rock sections with high Young s Modulus and low Poisson s ratio. Young s modulus refers to the ratio of amount of stress to strain while Poisson s ratio is the ratio of lateral strain to longitudinal strain. They stated that a significant amount of rock stress originated from elastic rock heterogeneity, and that the heterogeneity index of rocks indicates these rock sections. Langenbruch and Shapiro(2015) concluded that seismicity induced by fluid injection can be of two ways. One is by the shear reactivation which explains the linear diffusion seismicity explained previously and the other is by tensile opening which only occurs when the minimum effective stress becomes tensile. The reactivation probability of a preexisting fracture is given by CFS calculation which involves cohesion, shear and normal stress, coefficient of internal friction and pore pressure. If CFS is greater than 0, the fault is in a stable state; if CFS is less than 0, the fault is unstable and if CFS is equal to 0, failure occurs. Iwerks tried sketches of various animals, such as dogs and cats, but none of these appealed to Disney. A female cow and male horse were also rejected. On one hand, Hobbes had a more pessimistic inference of human nature and thought that it was principally bad. In his work, The Leviathan, he suggests, as said before, that all men are equal, but he argues that this equality brews the desire of obtaining something. Sometimes, this thing can only be attained and enjoyed by one person. Consequently, people become enemies. Furthermore, he insists that without a common power to maintain them, they are in a condition called war. This conflict provoking state leaves no room for productivity and prosperity, proclaims Hobbes (Collier 15). On the contrary, Locke, generally, thought that people were essentially reasonable and would collaborate with one another. In his work, Of Civil Government, Locke writes that men living according to reason, without a common authority to decide between them, is properly the state of nature. Additionally, he argues that God has given man reason to exploit and thereby achieve optimal convenience. • 42. What Does Fate In A Prayer For Owen Meany Fate is a common theme in many cultures, with people either attempting to rebel against it or embracing it. However, throughout these stories, people very rarely break away from their destiny. A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving is a story where fate is heavily involved, with the main character Owen Meany receiving visions of the futureand accepting his destiny. Owen Meany demonstrates that fate is inescapable, and should be embraced. Unlike most stories involving fate, A Prayer for Owen Meanydoes not focus on God or divine power, and is instead closer to magical realism. Throughout the novel, the author withholds information, constantly changes the time as he is narrating, and has many people do not believe in the miracles of Owen Meany. A Prayer for Owen Meany can fit in many categories, but with these aspects of magical realism, it is the best genre to put it in. The story is told as Johnny narrates it, looking back on his childhood, and he includes any stories he believes are important to understanding the development of himself and Owen. While telling these stories, he constantly changes the part of his childhood he is talking about. Besides the sudden jumps in years, Johnny also skips over days or even weeks at once, not bothering to explain what happened during that time. At one point, he is talking about how he could see Owen was at least as high as the palm trees (Irving 626). In the very next sentence, he skips presumably weeks ahead, to talk about how Major Rawls saw to it that Owen Meany got a medal (Irving 626). Time being nonlinear is an aspect of magical realism, and with all the jumps and skips, the timeline is very strange and a little difficult to piece together. The jumping of time also plays into the theme of fate a little, as fate is all about the future. Telling the future before previous events are explained makes the reader feel like Owen, knowing some of the future but not the events that lead up to it. Not knowing information is also an aspect of magical realism, and several major subplots involve the past the author keeps hidden. For two thirds of the book, and ten years of his life, Johnny does not know who his father is, or what unspeakable outrage the Catholic church ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Readers must take into account everything such as actions, dialogue, descriptions, and interactions with other characters, weighing each as good or evil. William Golding s Lord of the Flies portrays Ralph as a morally ambiguous character struggling to repulse the innate beast within him and the boys. Ralph s morals are undetermined as the leader on the island, the role he plays in Simon s death, and the civility he tries to maintain. Through Ralph being the leader on the island, it shows him as a morally ambiguous character struggling with man s innate evil. Ralph is clearly struggling to maintain calm when he says, I was chief, and you were going to do what I said. You talk. But you can t even build huts then you go off hunting and let out the fire (Golding 70 71). Ralph talks about him being chief in the past tense as if he no longer is because from the ways the boys are acting, he does not feel that he is being respected. Ralph is annoyed that instead of building shelter the boys play in the water and that instead of manning the fire, the only chance for the boys to be noticed, they decide hunting is more important than being rescued. It was not until 900 AD that the Mayans began to flourish in cities across modern day Mexico, Guatemala and north Belize. One of the most important gods for the Mayans was the supreme god Itzamana, the creator god, the god of fire and god of the earth (2012). Itzamana is shown as a king who was in charge of minor gods. The God of Itzamana is connected to the sacred world tree, or Ceiba tree, which for the Maya linked together the sky, earth, and the underworld (2012). The Mayas believed in two worlds, the everyday world and the underworld or place of Awe. The Mayan people believed that gods, spirits and dead ancestors lived in the underworld. The person in charge of sending people to the underworld was the main chief. Unlike some religions, the belief of the underworld for the Mayans was very sad, dark, cold and a place where there where mean gods that would torment them (2015). The Maya believed super natural levels not as heaven and hell, but the upper, middle and underworld that consisted of many levels with the underworld being the lowest level. The Ceiba tree or ... Within Emily Dickinson s poem I heard a Fly Buzz When I Died , readers are introduced to a ghostly speaker that discusses the scene of their deathbed. Readers are exposed to many surprises throughout various aspects of the poem. One aspect of the poem that surprises readers is the relationship between the speaker and the fly .The first surprise involved in this relationship, is the combined revelation of the fly and the speaker s death. As the poem begins, the speaker says to readers, I heard a fly buzz when I died (Dickinson, 1). After reading that the speaker heard the buzz of a fly, readers may expect the death of the fly or more detail on the fly itself. However, the speaker hits readers by telling them that they heard the buzzing at the moment of their own death. Dickinson is immediately telling readers that her poem contains supernatural elements that link to the fly. Dating all the way back to the 1800s with some stated facts explaining what incentives are and what type of incentives there are and what they re used for. Basically there s a way to motivate someone and set them on a clearer path and bettering themselves in the future. • 56. Personal Narrative-Damn Center Just about enough. I ve had just about enough of this place and simply cannot take it any longer. I look around me and see gray walls of concrete covering the entire perimeter of the room. An iron wired bunk bed occupies the far left corner of the room with one white pillow and a white blanket on the top bunk. On the top right of the wall is a window. It s the only light aside from the brightness of the white linens; the only connection to the outside world. I would try to use the window to escape, but they put up bars to prevent that from happening. Again. Right now, I am sitting at the cemented bench by the wooden door across from the bed, staring at the wall. The room in general is cold, damp, and dark. Aside from that, I just cannot take it any longer, but, honestly, what can I do? I have tried to cut off the bars with my knives, which I snuck out of mess hall, only to have them used against me, and then taken away. Once I even tried dressing up as one of the guards, but I was caught and the result...was not at all a pretty sight.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What crap.
