This document provides instructions for creating soil bearing capacity graphs in Microsoft Excel 2007. It introduces the benefits of using the program, which are that soil bearing capacity graphs will appear automatically and data organization will be easier. It then goes through 42 steps with accompanying images to demonstrate how to insert a chart, select and input data, format axes and labels, and customize the overall graph. The goal is to provide a visual guide for analyzing soil test data from probe tests to determine foundation bearing capacity.
Reconstruction of Surfaces from Three-Dimensional Unorganized Point Sets / Ro...Robert Mencl
In this thesis a new algorithm for the reconstruction of surfaces from three-dimensional point clouds is presented. Its particular features are the reconstruction of open surfaces with boundaries, data sets with variable density, and the treatment of sharp edges, that is, locations of infinite curvature. We give formal arguments which explain why the algorithm works well. They consist of a definition of 'reconstruction', and the demonstration of existence of sampling sets for which the algorithm is successful. This mathematical analysis focuses on compact surfaces of limited curvature without boundary. Further contributions are the application of the surface reconstruction algorithm for interactive shape design and a smoothing procedure for noise elimination in point clouds. Additionally, the algorithm can be easily applied for locally-restricted reconstruction if only a subset of the data set has to be considered for reconstruction.

WHAT CONSTITUTES AN AGILE ORGANIZATION? ? DESCRIPTIVE RESULTS OF AN EMPIRICAL...iasaglobal
The survey items emerged from a comprehensive literature review that identified 33 concepts of agility. These concepts were formulated as questionnaire items with support from already existent studies. To ensure an appropriate measurement, different scales were used, because as Tsourveloudis and Valavanis (2002) point out, the parameters affecting agility are not homogenous. In our opinion, an organization is not agile when its employees and managers ?agree? with statements describing agility or when they ?think? they are agile. Instead, it is the actions, capabilities, values, etc. of an organization that represent its agility.

Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.
