Lider powinien mieć umiejętność kształotowania wizji i przekazania jej swojemu zespołowi. Jednocześnie powinien identyfikować się z wartościami, które przekazuje swojemu zespołowi.
2. Kierunek - nadanie kierunku wizji.
Liderzy powinni nadawać swoim wizją kierunek i przekształcać ją w rzeczywistość. Liderzy wyznaczają cele, ustalają priorytety i delegują zakresy odpowiedzialności jeśli to konieczne.
3. Przekonywanie.
Liedrzy powinni mieć umiejętność przekonania członków zespołu do swojej wizji.
4. Wsparcie.
Lider musi mieć pewność, że każdy rozumie swoją rolę w zespole i wspierać kreatywność zespołu. Powinien także rozwiązywać konflikty jeżeli takie zaistnieją.
5. Rozwój.
Lider powinien być świadomy potrzeb członków swojego zespołu i zapewnić możliwość realizacji tych celów. Powinien jednocześnie zachęcać członków zespołu do uczenia się nich.
6. Nagradzanie.
Lider powinien jak najszybciej zauważać wysiłki członków zespołu i nagradzać takie zachowanie.
