Good Essay Format
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Good Essay Format" can prove to be both challenging and
rewarding. The difficulty lies not only in the content you choose to include but also in the
meticulous structure required to convey your thoughts effectively.
To begin with, the essay should have a compelling introduction that captures the reader's
attention and clearly outlines the purpose of the discussion. The challenge here is to strike a
balance between being engaging and providing a preview of the essay's main points.
Moving on to the body paragraphs, each one should focus on a distinct aspect of the essay
format, such as the importance of a strong thesis statement, the use of clear topic sentences, and
the incorporation of relevant evidence. Juggling these components while maintaining a logical
flow can be demanding, as you strive to present your ideas in a coherent and convincing manner.
Moreover, the conclusion must seamlessly tie together the key points discussed, offering a
summary without introducing new information. This requires a concise yet comprehensive
synthesis of your main arguments, reinforcing the significance of adhering to a good essay
format.
Throughout the writing process, attention to detail is paramount. Proper grammar, punctuation,
and citation are essential for a polished and academically sound essay. Ensuring consistency in
formatting styles adds an extra layer of complexity.
In conclusion, while composing an essay on "Good Essay Format" may present its challenges,
the mastery of this skill is crucial for effective communication in academic and professional
settings. It demands a keen understanding of structure, clarity of expression, and attention to
detail. Yet, with dedication and practice, one can navigate these challenges to produce essays
that not only meet academic standards but also resonate with readers.

POLICY, POLITICS GLOBAL HEALTH TRENDS POLICY ANALYSIS TASK
Introduction: This assignment requires that I develop and thoroughly analyze a
public policy in order to advocate for one that improves the health of the public and
/or the nursing profession globally (local, state, national or international). To do this,
I must reflect on several aspects of being a policy maker within the nursing
profession. I was instructed to consider the following: В·Why did I select the health
or nursing profession policy issue? В·How does this issue affect nursing practice,
healthcare delivery and health outcomes for individual, families and/or... Show more

В·Bottom up approach /community based participatory approach one in which
those who are impacted by the issue, usually the stakeholders collaborate to design
interventions, rather than being told what to do by formal policy. В·Policy the
deliberate course of action chosen by an individual or group in order to deal with
a specific problem or issue. oPublic policies are choices made by government
officials to deal with public policy (Policy Politics in Nursing Health Care, 6th
edition) В·Stakeholder person, group or organization that has interest or concern in
an organization (businessdictionary) В·Pay for performance payment model
healthcare payment systems that offer financial rewards to providers who achieve,
improve or excel their performance on specified quality of care and cost measures
(HealthCare Incentives Improvement Institute, N.D.) In Public Policy Issue: The
policy issue that I have selected to discuss herein is the pay for performance
payment model. I feel that this impacts a large number of our population and
changes in this regard should be made. This type of payment model aims to use
reimbursement to incentivize providers to deliver high quality services. Pay for
performance model steps away from the traditional manner of reimbursement of fee
for service, in which providers receive payment on the basis of frequency or volume
of the services they provide regardless of outcomes. In contrast,
Women s Rights, Equality, And Opportunities
Equality. The state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities. A
simple concept yet so hard to achieve between sexes. Throughout history women
have always been the minority and marginalized. They were thought of only being a
caregiver, that could not exemplify the same work ethic men did. Women were and
still are neglected the same rights men have. Since times have evolved women have
fought for the rights they have. Yet even in the year 2015, men are still considered to
be the superiority. Women are still denied the equality due to their gender.
Ever since the creation of religion women have been considered objects, that they
are made to bear the child and serve the husband. Biblical views were very
prominent in the formation of America and in today s society. You shall not covet
your neighbor s house, you shall not covet your neighbor s wife, or his male slave,
his female slave, his ox, his donkey or anything which belongs to your neighbor
(Exodus 20:17; Deuteronomy 5:21). In this section of the bible women are
considered property. Women are humans just like men and deserve to be treated as an
equal. Religion is one of the most common things taught as a child and by
demonstrating the sexist views. It teaches the new generations that women are not
people but objects to be owned.Due to these point of views men believe that they are
superior and that women should praise them. Religion one of the most followed
viewpoints since human existence

It s about a fictional Native American culture flourishing 3,000 years ago at the
archeological site today known as Poverty Point in northern Louisiana. My hope for
my literary prehistoric novel with its strong though somewhat insecure female
heroine, traditional and original Native American based myths and legends weaved
throughout the storyline, and plausible explanation as to why a thriving community

The Giant Pacific Octopus
The Giant Pacific Octopus
This paper is about octopus dofleni, which is a bottom dwelling octopus that lives
on coasts of the pacific ocean, from Northern Japan to California. This essay will
provide a brief overview of its life, habits and other characteristics of this, intelligent
and creative invertebrate and member of the Octopodidae family.
The life of the pacific giant may begin at any time of the year. The mating season
however tends to peak in the month of December, with most of their eggs being laid
in April and May.
Octopuses reproduction is sexual and takes place in the somewhat shallow depths of
25 100m and can last hours. The fertilization process begins with the male octopus, he
uses his third right tentacle which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All octopuses have the ability to shoot out a jet of purple or blackish ink like fluid
from under their eyes, in order to perform a disappearing act when they feel
threatened. The octopus can shoot out several blotches of this fluid before the fluid
sac is emptied. This trick is not always an option, the ink is actually toxic to the
octopus, and if shot in a confined area, the octopus will become sick or even die.
Octopuses have fairly good eyes, in fact they are comparable to ours in clarity. The
eyes of the octopus differ from ours, in the aspect that they focus by moving in,
and out while the human eye works by changing the shape and size of the lens
itself. The octopus also posseses the most advanced brain of all invertebrates, with
both short, and long term memories. This allows the octopus to learn in much the
same way as humans, through trial and error. When an octopus learns a lesson it
remembers and puts its knowledge to use in the future. The octopus has eight arms,
with 250 suckers on each arm for a total of 2000 suckers on their body. These
suckers are very sensitive to touch, in fact, the octopus can differentiate between
different objects just as well with their suckers as they can with their eyes. Some
species have particular suckers that are larger than the rest This is to aid in
reproduction.
I Got My Eye Put Out And We Grow Accustomed To The
Dark
Both of Dickinson s poems Before I got my eye put out and We Grow Accustomed
to the Dark dementraste the literal loss of sight or physically stumbling in the
darkness yet in a metaphoric way. In her first poem, Dickinson expresses how much
she misses seeing and how she feels without vision, she even states certain things.
She has no other way to see them because of her lost in sight, all she has is her
memories. As for her second poem, Dickinson goes on to talk about how our eyes
adjust from lightto dark and how we use our sight.
In Dickinson s Before I Got My Eye Put Out, she has the loss of her sight and is in a
metaphoric darkness. Her poem goes on to express how she lost her sense of vision
and how she misses it. In the poem, it

Overview of Program Evaluation
Program evaluation is a useful resource to evaluate programs that are currently an
organization or an industry is making good use of. Evaluating programs not only
bring out the strengths and weaknesses but also identifies the picture of the plans
implemented. The purpose of this paper is to examine the purpose for program
evaluation and why it can be useful to an organization. This paper will speak of the
five most common types of program evaluation models and will select one program
evaluation model to describe from week one s reading.
Purpose for program evaluation
There is only one overall purpose for program evaluation activities: ... Show more

Each of the models discussed includes emphases that are valid aspects of program
evaluation. One value of thinking about models lies in developing an appreciation
of the range of questions evaluators can consider. The specific questions being
addressed by an evaluation or the specific aspects of the program setting often make
one or another of the models especially useful (Posavac amp; Carey, 2007, p.23 25).
The models: The traditional model, Social Science model, Industrial Inspection
model, Black Box Evaluation, and Objectives Based Evaluation model, are very
common and helpful in different types of organizations and environment. The model
that is very interesting to use and describe is the Objective Based Evaluation model.
Objectives Based Evaluation
In an effort to design an evaluation for a specific program, some approaches
emphasize working with clearly stated program goals and objectives so that the
degree to which such goals and objectives are achieved can be measured. This has
been the most prevalent model used for program evaluation. Examining goals and
objectives seems to be an essential aspect of evaluation; it is important to judge a
program relative to its particular structure and what it is designed to achieve
(Posavac amp; Carey, 2007, p.23 25). It is very important for organizations to clearly
and closely examine their
The Conventions Of Parents Face Raising Their Children
Essay
Conventions of Parenting in Leave it to Beaver Most modern family films highlight
the hardships that parents face raising their children, which are often then followed
by moments that make parenting the most rewarding. Films often sugar coat events
of how parents may react to certain situation which is a misrepresentation of a family,
but we must keep in mind that films are not real life stories unless they are
documentaries. In this Essay, I will be using Marianne Hirsch s work on the
familial gaze and Sharon Varallo s piece on family photographs as tools in order to
analyse the film Leave it to Beaver. The film Leave it to Beaver released August
1997, is based on the successful Tv series comedy that was released in 1957. I will
be drawing on both Hirsch and Varallo s work which explores the representation of
western and non western families by using photographs, and using their incite to
further strengthen my argument. Not all families are alike, most certainly not in
values, religion, culture, race, just to name a few, but all families have hardships
and it s how those hardships are handled that make a family stronger. A stronger
family often starts with the parents and how they treat one another. For example,
parents are seen as role models to their children and those kids pick up habits, from
their parents, whether they be good or bad. As I analyse the film Leave it to Beaver,
I will be exploring the portrayal of parenting conventions that accurately represent

SYNOPTIC COMPARISON OF THE TEXTS
Now that we have uncovered some of the significance of the location of the text
both in relation to the surrounding narratives, and geographically it is time to look
at each of the accounts, and how they compare to one another. The account of the
miracle in Mark is the longest, and most detailed of the three, and I will be
exploring it first. Luke s account is very similar to Mark s, and in fact it is believed
that Luke used Mark as the sole source for his account of the story, and simply
changed the language possibly changing the meaning, and focus of the text for his
Gospel , so I will look at his narrative second. Finally Matthew is the shortest, and
least detailed account of this narrative containing some ... Show more content on

In verse 2, and 3 the word ОјОЅО·ОјОµОЇП‰ОЅ is used meaning among the tombs
. In verse 5 however a different word is used. ОјОЅО®ОјО±ПѓО№ОЅ meaning as it
is translated simply tomb . Making note of this distinction is important because if
we look at the literal meaning of the translation of the word used in verses 2, and 3
we get a clearer picture of the condition of the demon possessed man. The first word
that is used to describe the tomb emphasizes the fact that the man lived among the
dead . I find this linguistic point interesting because it is an instance where our
English language is not adequate to describe what the author was trying to convey
in his text. When we look at the underlying meaning of the two separate words, and
gain a deeper understanding of the underlying meaning of the first we get a more
powerful picture of the circumstances that this demon possessed man was in. Aside
from living among the tombs the man also suffered in other ways due to his demon
possession. One example of this is 5:5 Night and day among the tombs and on the
mountain he was always howling and bruising himself with stones. (NRSV) these
two examples of the miserable state of the mans life are an illustration of the power
that evil can have over a person . Understanding the extent of the power that the evil
demon had over the man makes the illustration of the power that Jesus has over the
demon all the more
The Gentleman s Game
The gentleman s game What comes to your mind when I say the world s hardest
sport? I m sure many of you start picturing football, baseball, maybe even hockey,
but how many of you would ever consider golf to be the hardest sport? Unlike the
three sports mentioned above in golf you don t have any teammates to help you out
if you re have a bad game. In golfyou have to be good at all aspects of the game in
order to be successful unlike in football, baseball, and hockey where you can still
be successful by only mastering one position. In football every football field
measures the same size, in baseball the pitcher is always the same distance away
from the batter, and hockey rinks are all the same size every time, however in golf
ever course is different and you don t get a home field advantage like you do in other
sports you have to be prepared for everything. This is why I consider golf to be the
world s hardest sport because there are no teammates it s just up to you and your
caddy, you have to be great at every aspect of the game if you want to be successful
on the PGA tour, and finally ever course is different and you have to be able to make
adjustments from course to course in order to succeed. I believe I am able to
make this claim because I have an abundance of experience from playing nearly
every sport in my childhood. I earned three varsity letters in high school and
competed at a varsity level for four years in golf, lacrosse, and cross country. Out of
Tactical Air Force
CAS was an important mission during WWII. The synergistic effect of the tactical
German aviation as part of the blitzkrieg was one of the main innovations in war.
However, this was the result of the experimentation and training, much of which
occurred during the Spanish Civil War. In the same way, Russian Tactical Aviation
developed ground support capabilities that were important to stop the German
invasion. On the American side, as a result of the performance of the Tactical Air
Command (TAC), the independence of the Air Force was related to its ability to
provide close air support to the Army when deemed needed. The National Security
Act of 1947 gave the Air Force the responsibility of providing close air support for
ground forces. However,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prior to Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF),
this was not a big issue as there was a specialized platform, the A 10, which
provided the preponderance of CAS sorties with aircrews experienced in CAS
procedures. During OEF and OIF, this situation has changed dramatically, and the
differences in training evidenced the
Hydrogen as an Option for Fuel
With gas prices escalating and fossil fuels becoming limited, scientists have been
researching an alternative fuel source that will be more abundant and cost
efficient. Issues with our current fuel source include the pollution that is emitted
in our air and water sources and the fact that fossil fuels are becoming scarce. One
alternative to gasoline is the use of hydrogen as a fuel source. With hydrogen as a
fuel source pollution will be in decline, it has become increasingly more abundant
than fossil fuels through extracting hydrogen from various sources, and is
domestically produced. There are many pros to using hydrogen as an alternative
fuel source; namely, its abundance, its low pollution, and the fact that it is being
researched and extracted domestically. Hydrogen is one of the most abundant
elements on earth and can be found in water, hydrocarbons and other organic
matter. Because of hydrogen being so abundant scientists are able to extract it from
a variety of sources, therefore, the problem with hydrogen as a fuel source is how
to exactly make hydrogen an efficient fuel source. Currently hydrogen is extracted
from natural gas, but this releases the greenhouse gas CO2 and uses up a limited
resource. This does not relieve our current issues with using up fossil fuels, just
displaces them. Recent research has suggested a means of how to resolve both of
these problems. Zhang, a research scientist from Virginia Tech, and his team have
altered an enzyme that can
Photosynthesis And Carbon Concentration On The Rate

Photosynthesis and Carbon Concentration
Question: Does bicarbonate (CO2) concentration affect the rate of photolysis?
Variable: The variable being investigated is bicarbonate concentration.
Hypothesis: If one carbon dioxide source is removed, then the rate of photolysis will
remain constant because carbon dioxide is not needed for photolysis.
Materials:
two 600 mL beakers
1.5 liters of water
1 dropper
4 drops of liquid laundry detergent
1 spoon
5 grams of baking soda (CO2 source)
1 stirrer
1 single hole punch spinach leaves
1 syringe (needle removed)
1 glass bowl (heatsink)
1 lamp (light source)
1 timers
Procedure:
Fill the beaker with 500 mL of water and 2 drops of detergent. Add 5 grams of
baking soda using the spoon. Using the stirrer, stir gently; there should be no bubbles
when finished.
Use the hole puncher to punch out 10 leaf discs from the spinach leaves.
Remove the plunger (back) of the syringe. Insert the leaf discs into the barrel (main
cylinder) of the syringe. Re insert the plunger of the syringe, pushing forward until all
air has been removed.
Using the syringe, draw out 7.5 mL of the solution. The discs (still in the syringe)
should float in the solution.
Push out all air that may have been drawn out in step 6.
Place a finger or thumb over the tip of the syringe. Pull back the plunger of the
syringe but not so much as to pull it out entirely, keeping the finger/thumb over the
tip of the syringe the entire time. While shaking and tapping the syringe

Or you could open with a dilemma or problem and then close with the solution. A
different version of that is to re tell the same story in the conclusion with a different
(usually better) ending. Examples: * On an essay about cell phone use in cars, you
could open with a scenario showing a person getting a call while driving and
thinking about what to do. In the conclusion, you could have the end of the
scenario maybe the driver pulls over to take the call, or decides to let voicemail
take it. * On an essay about dealing with a family member with Alzheimer s, you
could open with a conversation between family members trying to figure out what
to do. You can conclude with a conversation between the same people after they
have decided to place that person in a nursing home. * On an essay about oil
drilling in the Gulf, you could open by describing vividly the oil soaked coastline
and the dying wildlife. You could conclude with what that coastline looks like now. *
On any topic which you have personal experience, you can open with part of your
story, and then conclude with the ending of your story.

environment. The environment was really had on Panera considering they area a

father and mother spurned 13 children together. One child died in early infancy and
one brother died in a car crash at the tender age of 21 or 22, shortly after he returned

Acid Base Titrations
Najib Chowdhury CHM1311 C03 Yayha Albkuri
Introduction:
Acids and Bases
The experiment involves with the investigation of the unknown solutions used and
the determination of their concentrations. The techniques and their expected
outcomes are elaborated further in detail in the following report. For the most part,
Arrhenius s definition of an acid and base is employed in this experiment as it is
sufficient for this case. Acid can be represented visually using this equation:
гЂ–HNOгЂ—_3 (aq)вџє H^(+ ) (aq)+ гЂ–гЂ–NOгЂ—_3гЂ—^ (aq)
As per Arrhenius s definition, HNO3 donates its H+. Likewise, the base has the same
underlying design. In this case, NaOH donates a hydroxide ion.
NaOH (aq)вџєгЂ–NaгЂ—^+ (aq)+ гЂ–OHгЂ—^( ) (aq)
Concentration
For determining the concentration of an acid, it is imperative that the amount (in
moles) of an acid being used is known that is being mixed with a certain amount of
water (in litres). The equation for concentration is:
Concentration (mol/L)=(amount of acid(mol))/(volume of water (L))
Safety Precautions:
The experiment deals with the use of organic solutions that are corrosive in nature,
the use of extra precautions is strongly advised. It is highly recommended that the
magnetic stirrer is not disturbed during the dissolution of different solution, as
A Clean Well-Lighted Place Waiter
In A Clean, Well Lighted Place, it seems as if the young waiter resembles Henry
because he is young and the most masculine from the other characters involved; he
only thinks of what he wants. For example, when the deaf old man wants another
round of brandy the young waiter feels sleepy and says, I never get into bed before
three o clock. He should have killed himself last week. The waiter took the brandy
bottle and another saucer from the counter inside the cafe and marched out to the
old man s table. He put down the saucer and poured the glass full of brandy. You
should have killed yourself last week, he said to the deaf old man (Hemingway
Clean 289). Both the young waiter and Henry seem to fully know what s going on
and are in control.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now, without thinking further, he would go home to his room. He would lie in
bed and finally, with daylight, he would go to sleep. After all, he said to himself, it
s probably only insomnia. Many must have it (Hemingway Clean 291). The old
waiter is on his way to a bar as he talks to himself, it is dark; in, A Farewell to Arms,
Henry says, I am afraid of Him in the night sometimes (A Farewell. 62), meaning
Hemingway is scared of God at night because he thinks God may punish him or not
protect him from evil. So when he arrives at the bar he feels safe and a little foolish
for scaring himself and smiles. But by him memorizing parts of the prayer he has
very little faith. When the old waiter is praying, he wants God to have mercy on
him, protect him because he s scared and lost. The old waiter also lies to himself
trying to make things seem a little brighter by convincing himself it s only
insomnia and Many must have it (Hemingway Clean 291). The old waiter has no
faith, is scared of the dark and goes to sleep during the day; not very masculine
because he s scared, lost and not in control if he can t sleep at night when most
people sleep the deaf old man from, A Clean, Well Lighted Place, by having no faith
because God didn t save Catherine, and because according to Henry, Everything was
gone inside of me (Hemingway Farewell 282).
Imagery And Their Mind Through Descriptions And
Sensory...
Imagery is the use of language to create mental pictures in one s mind through
descriptions and sensory perceptions (Wheeler). In Digging, Heaney establishes
the setting of the poem by describing that he is in what seems to be a room with a
window that overlooks an area of green. He starts the poem off with Between my
finger and my thumb / The squat pen rests; snug as a gun. / Under my window, a
clean rasping sound / When the spade sinks into gravelly ground: / My father,
digging. I look down ( Digging ). He uses the appeals to sound, as in a clean
rasping sound and the spade sinks into gravelly ground, as well as appeals to sight,
I look down, and appeals to touch, [b]etween my finger and my thumb, to create an
image in the reader s mind of what that day, or perhaps thought, looked like. The
image that is created is one that shows contrast, in this case between an unidentified
narrator and his father. As the poem continues, Heaney describes But I ve no spade
to follow men like them. / Between my finger and my thumb / The squat pen rests. / I
ll dig with it. The contrast that this furthers is the idea that the narrator is very
different from his father, creating a divide that can be the start of tension. Because the
narrator and his father cannot necessarily understand each other due to these
differences, as each chooses his different approach to digging, the narrator seems to
understand that not much can be done about the father s choice to remain a
The Metamorphosis And The Chief Agent Of
Transformations
Metamorphoses means transformations and there are many kinds of transformations
throughout the poem. In fact, nearly everything in the story is in a process of
changing. People are transformed as a result of love or hate and sometimes as
revenge. Yet, so often these transformations seem extraneous, insignificant to the
main point. This paper will attempt to argue that transformation is the main theme in
the metamorphosis and the chief agent of transformations is love. As well as other
themes and moral lessons like revenge and fate. More directly, this paper evaluates
the transformations that represent the damaging nature of the excessive and
exaggerated passion and its role in developing fate.

Metamorphoses is more than a collection of stories of mythical adventures, it is a
reflection on the theme of metamorphosis or transformation. An example of
transformation is in book I when Apollo speaks unfavorably to Cupid, who shoots
two arrows in revenge. The first arrow causes Apollo to fall in love. Apollo goes after
Daphne, but she rejects him. Apollo begs and insists, and Daphne cries out to her
father for help. He reacts by transforming her into a laurel tree. Not entirely
discouraged, Apollo flounders the tree. At this point, Jupiter notices a young nymph,
Io, and his heart suddenly becomes filled with lust. He then rapes her. Juno, Jupiter

reoccurring moral lessons that we see in the metamorphosis, Fate is a lesson we

idea that life is like a story which has already been written. People cannot escape

gods. Mortals pray to the gods both to find out their fate, and to learn ways of
avoiding it. At
Analysis Of The Book 1776 By David Mccullough
1776 by David McCullough Book Review 1776, a non fiction historical book, is
written by two time Pulitzer Prize winner David McCullough. The book revolves
around the American Revolution, hence the title 1776, and it accurately shows the
course of actions that have taken place in that year. 1776 is displays how America
became an independent nation and what the individuals during that time had to go
through to gain access to freedom and liberty. The Continental Congress approved
the Declaration of Independence, the nation s most cherished symbol of
independence, that same year on July 4. With education systems not going in depth

Separate the solid from the liquid in the beaker by decanting the liquid. Ask your
instructor to demonstrate the correct procedure. 2) Rinse the solid with about 30
mL of distilled water and decant the liquid from the solid. It is critical that as little
solid as possible is lost during this process. Repeat the rinsing two or three times. *
Step H: 1) Pour 25 mL of the 1 M hydrochloric acid into the beaker and rinse the
solid by swirling the acid around in the bottom of the beaker.
Caution Hydrochloric acid is corrosive to eyes, skin and clothes. Wearing a lab

Foreign Policy Dbq Analysis
Foreign Policy DBQ The devastating WWI left a permanent mark on the European
soil, as well as in American people s minds. People now understood what real wars
are like; they are not always honorable, romantic or beneficial. As a result,
isolationism ran high as the postwar United States entered the 1920s. Three
presidents, Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge and Herbert Hooverall devoted
themselves to domestic affairs starting from 1920 while trying their best to keep the
country safe from the European turmoils. However, as the WWII erupted in Europe
in the 1930s, president Franklin D. Rooseveltsensed the potential danger posed by
Germany toward the United States. A series of changes in foreign policies from 1920

Roosevelt, unlike the three former presidents, with his solid reputation from his
significant New Deal programs, took a step to reactivate the US role in the world,
leading an isolated nation toward more international affairs. During his first term,
FDR s view toward foreign affairs differed little from the other isolationist
presidents. Neutrality Acts were signed by the president, intending to keep the nation
out of war. However, as the war between China and Japan unfolded, Roosevelt s
actions began to be viewed as a violation of strict isolationism; by not invoking the
neutrality law in this case, he had made a favorable situation for China since
munitions to China continued to flourish. Although identified with one of those
seeking peace, Roosevelt s isolationist mind was challenged by the German
occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1939, which revealed the nature of Hitler to
him―an international gangster who willed war on the world and therefore had to
be stopped. Having realized this, Roosevelt went to the Congress and asked for
permission to sell arms to the Allies, which did not work. THe president later went on
to ask for an amendment to the Neutrality Acts, which he regretted signing; as a
result, Britain and France were allowed to send freighters to the US and purchase
whatever they needed under the Neutrality Act of 1939. At this time the national
sentiment is no longer total isolationism, for the people had realized, as the

Superego In Regarding Henry
Regarding Henry is a very great movie with many scenes including both the ID and
superego. Although Henry had the life everyone thinks they want, He realized he
had nothing everyone else had after he got shot. He began to understand that Love
and affection is so much greater than fame, success and money. After figuring his
life out again, he was able to handle things with a more level head. He realized what
a selfish person he was and began to react differently to things. If every person was
given the chance to look at their life from a different perspective, would everyone
be able to see their faults like Henry was able to? The ID is very relevant in the
beginning of the movie. Henry was beyond selfish. He always wanted the best thing

He exhibited both the ID and superego in this scene because he proved himself to
be very selfish walking into the store demanding his needs over others in the store

everything. Henry was from zero to one hundred very quickly in this scene. After
the attack he began to change his ways and morals. Although he did not recognize
his family, He was able to see the love and support they have for him. Henry s
superego really became visible as soon as he woke up. He had a heart and cared
for everyone, He even gave the door man a hug! He devoted his time to his family,
although he was nervous to go home, he decided the one memory of the carpet
while tying his daughter s shoes was enough for him. While recovering, Henry had
time to reflect on himself and his life and realized he hated the person he was
before and wanted to change things. He grew closer to both his daughter and his
wife and ended up quitting his job. In the end, His superego became more of his
natural state. He was able to react more morally with few mistakes here and there
because he was learning everything all over
Geographical Benefits Of Eurasia Essay
The geographical advantages of Eurasia allowed civilizations to develop productive
agriculture, and domesticated animals as a result the Europeans had food surplus,
developed immunity to epidemic diseases, and forged steel. These inherited
advantages allowed them to decimate other civilizations and appropriate their
resources making them even more powerful.
Agriculture is only one of the many contributes to where we are today. Geographic
location affects agriculture because each specific crop has needs, if you can t meet
those needs, then you can t grow the crops. Some plants need super wet land and
some need super dry land ,let s say you live in Papua New Guinea they live closer
the the equator so they have the same weather year round. So if you re constantly
getting the same amount of sunlight all year then you ll only be able to grow the
same crops over and over again. Papua New Guinea had sago, to get sago people
there would have to cut down the sago tree, cut the sago tree in half and collect the
sago inside. With sago you have to have a wet climate, the sago tree takes three or
four days to prepare. Sago does not last long after it is prepared, sago is low in
protein and uses more calories then it gives. But Fertile Crescent on the other hand
live farther from the equator, so they end up getting four seasons while rotating
around the sun.Which leads to an advantage in almost everything. A change in
weather four times a year gives them a chance to plant and grow
The Media Of A Middle School Student
As a middle school student, I was oblivious to the unrealistic portrayals in the
media, but I was not able to escape its harmful grasp. It seemed every girl at the
school suffered with body image issues because their perception of beauty is what
they had been taught by society. Anorexia and bulimia were far too common, while
self esteemand confidence were very hard to find. Not only were the girls trying to
become beautiful, they were also trying to act older than they were. Starting at the
extreme, drugs, alcohol, and sex seemed normal; far less extreme were the excessive
amounts of makeup, skimpy outfits, and usage of the proper slang. These girls were
merely doing what the mediahad taught them; they were being, or trying to be,...

Realistic representations of women in the media will teach women to strive to
achieve attainable goals that have positive outcomes. Furthermore, the media s
definition of beautiful is not healthy.
While photo shopping may be commonplace practice, there are those who are
taking a stand. For example, the magazine Verily has made the promise to never
alter the body or facial structure of our models, remove wrinkles or birthmarks, or
change the texture of their skin. We aim to show everyone at their best, but also
firmly believe that your best is not a work of fiction. Verily s column Runway to
Realway takes high fashion styles and makes them practical for all women, they
even use everyday women in the column instead of models (Verily). There are even
individuals who are taking a stand. In an article for ABC News, Davis and Millman
talk about Julia Bluhm, a 14 year old from Waterville, Maine, who collected 25,000
signatures on her petition to have Seventeen produce one spread per month that does
not use photo shopped images (Davis and Millman). Bluhm s petition and Verily are
showing the media that they want to see real and accurate representations of women.
Someone can be beautiful by being fake, but a women s true representation of herself
is far more beautiful than any photo shopped model.
It is true that not everyone in the media is a victim Photoshop.
Moment Of Conception
What has made you the person you are? A question then naturally occurs and it is a
question that many are afraid to ask. The question stands, did God author the
events that would shape me into the person I am? The reason most people do not
want to consider this question is because this includes the good and the bad
circumstances of our lives. Most people have something in their life that they wish
they could change. Some would change a conversation they didn t have or perhaps
the words they should not have spoken. Either way life deals us blows and years,
even decades after we can look at these events and ponder how they have changed us.

Essay On Eucharist And Eschatology
The Lord s Supper, or the Eucharist, is a representative meal of the Gospel; bread
and wine represent the human body of Jesus sent by the Father to be broken for our
iniquities so that we may have everlasting life through the Spirit. In this respect, it is
easy to see how the Eucharist and eschatology are related, for the sacrifice of Jesus
gives believers hope for their future. However, there are many intricate connections
between the two doctrines that the Church and believers fail to recognize. In her
article Eucharist Eschatology , Martha Moore Keish explains that it is easy to
recognize how the Eucharist is reflective of the past and influences the present, but it
hardly makes claims about the future. Similarly, eschatology makes... Show more

Furthermore, eschatology is best understood when it considers Good Friday, for
without His death, Christians have no reason to hope for the renewal of creation.
However, this renewal does not come without judgment, a prominent tension point
when discussing eschatology. Thus, Moore Keish argues that in light of the
Eucharist, this tension can be resolved. The Eucharist, she explains, serves as a
reminder that the Judge is also the Redeemer , yet it is important to remember that
judgment has already come when Jesus bears the sins of the world (122). For
Christians, judgment is the past and future, and it motivates present actions that are
honoring and God fearing.
The doctrines of the Eucharist and eschatology are best understood in the context
of each other, yet Moore Keish continues, arguing that the unification of the
doctrines unites the body of believers. In partaking in the communal sacrament,
believers get a taste of the eschatological feast of the Lamb when they will all be
seated at the table of the King (116). Therefore, communion is more an act within
community than a display of one s own salvation. The breaking of the bread and
pouring of the wine is an act in which the disciples partook. When the Church
performs the Eucharist, they are joining with the body of believers past and present
in the remembrance of Good Friday while yearning for the day all believers will be
gathered around the Lord s table.
One of Moore Keish s central claims
Reality Changes From People Across The World
Reality changes from person to person. Whether something is real or not is
determined through the individual. One may think it s true whereas the other may
believe differently. It is common to form misconceptions on a subject that is
relatively new and upcoming. Sports are generally one of the most common ways we
conquer boredom. This entertainmentinvolves, according to the Oxford Dictionary,
physical exertion as well as brain stimulation. With technology emerging, the online
gamingindustry has become a vast media culture. Connecting millions across the
world, the online gaming world provides users with an interactive database which
engages both their body and their intellect. Gamers learn to utilize their problem
solving skills and are forced to come up with strategies that require quick decisions.
E sports encourage participants to train their brains so that they are able to deliver a
rapid response in certain situations. Gamers face a great deal of pressure as they
conform to the world of entertainment and competition. Therefore, E sports should be
considered real as online gamers and sports athletics both provide an audience with a
source of entertainment as well as being competitive.
The entertainment industry provides its audience a way to release tension by
showcasing various talents that stimulate the brain. Audiences enjoy watching the
players practice and so for online games, such as the popular games known as League
of Legends, gamers stream themselves training.

Essay on Cause and Effect of Kristallnacht
Cause and Effect of Kristallnacht
The Holocaust was a great tragedy, but it didn t happen overnight. It was a long
process of demeaning Jews as subhuman. This started as early as 1933 when Hitler
first came to power. However, Kristallnacht, or The Night of the Broken Glass, was
like the dam bursting. It was when the government of Germany encouraged its people
to loot and burn Jewish shops, synagogues, and schools. In addition, many Jews were
pulled out of their houses in the middle of the night and sent to concentration camps.

Jews could not go to public swimming pools, theaters, schools, etc. In addition Jews
were forced to sew a Star Of David on their clothes to identify them as Jews. At this
point in time, Jews could do very little. Some were arrested just for taking a walk
outside. So at this point in time Jews were very restricted. One Jewish teenager,
Herschel Grinszpan, was living in Paris. His father was relocated by the Nazis to
Poland. He decided that he was going to assassinate the German ambassador. He
went to the embassy, but he was not able to locate his target. So he tried to

Nazi. Even though Rath was only a minor official, Hitler used propaganda to
convince people that the act was an international conspiracy by Jews everywhere.
Hitler made it seem as though Jews were attacking Germany itself. This is what led
to Kristallnacht. The act of one Jew gave Hitler exactly the excuse he needed to hurt
the Jews en masse and in public. It gave him the excuse for the government to
condone mass destruction of Jewish property and businesses. Even though Jews were
losing their liberty they still endured it as best they could. However Kristallnacht

My Next Door Neighbor From My Childhood
I decided to interview my next door neighbor from my childhood. His name Dana
born in 1942 and grew up on a tree farm, but claims to have been there in the
middle of the changing times . When Dana started talking about records he did not
have many personal at home stories. The reason being he lived on a farm and his
family did not have that much disposable income to buy a record player. He was
also only 8 years old by the time of the 50 s. However he stated that his friend
Eugene a couple miles down the road did own a player and he would frequently visit
just to listen to music. Infact many of the children around his age would meet once a
week at Eugene s and listen to the new thing. Dana and his friends kept this weekly
meeting up until their 20 s and as they got older they began earning income and
could start buying records that were more current. Dana laughed when talking
about their favorite records saying most of his friends and partially himself could
have been teenieboppers which from what I gather means you liked Frank Sinatra
and pop at the time. His favorite was Bing Crosby especially his recording of A
White Christmas which was released before even his birth. I think it is amazing
how songs had such longevity and impact back then as to now. Billboards might
have a song at its number one for a week before it is booted aside. While a song
might reign on top for a couple months back then. I mean we still listen to A White
Christmas every year in December
Internationalizing The Habanera
In the 19th century there were a few conservatories where composers frequently
visited to study music. Instruments played a big role, too. Piano industries in
Argentina and Mexico had popped up, which were accessible to the middle class,
thus creating a demand for sheet music. Cuba even had a piano factory. This increase
in access caused an explosion of pianomusicto be written.
The Caribbean also was influenced. It had internationalized the habanera, a dance
that was very popular in Cuba. Habanera was often used in dance music and theater.
Moving onto the 20th century, popular music genres included Puerto Rican plena,
Argentine tango, Dominican merengue, and Brazilian samba. These genres became
national symbols for the countries from which

Bystander Effect Essay

Diffusion of Responsibility. They conducted this study to figure out how would
people react in various group sizes in an emergency situation. As well as which one

this was taken from the famous case of Kitty Genovese, who was stabbed to death

There were a few differences on this base research experiment. To begin with, there
were various group sizes in various instances. For instance, there were either groups
of two, three, and six people. There was only one actual participant per group, while
the rest were part of the experiment. This was the independent variable. It was
intended to test if the number of individuals would diffuse the duty given in a crisis
circumstance. In addition to that, various types of individuals took part in this study.
Different genders and authority figure was presented. This person was a premedical

to find any distinction in different genders responding. Also, it was intended to figure
out if the presence of an authority figure would affect the participant s response if
they were to assume that the medical student would take charge in a crisis situation.
Furthermore, the dependent variable was the speed of the individuals reporting the
emergency of someone having a seizure to the experimenter. The experiment was
terminated if individuals did not seek assistance for the seizure victim within six
minutes. Thus, this research was conducted in a correlational fashion. Then the true

Bitcoin is a new form of currency that is entirely digital with no central authority. It
can be traded anywhere; it is accepted for all sorts of goods and services. There are
online market places and exchanges to allow you to exchange Bitcoin for USD or
other currencies. But with an entirely digital nature comes the potential for a very
risky business. The currency, sites, and transactions all have the possibility of
being hacked. Theft is still likely to occur with digital currencies. The way
transactions are processed gives the currency an anonymous nature. This
anonymity allows for it to be used in unethical and ultimately illegal ways. This
paper shows both positive and negative sides of Bitcoin and demonstrates how
Bitcoin can be a valid currency with better control. Due to the recent nature of this
topic and how it will be discussed in this paper, there are very few reasonable
scholarly sources available. There are a few from well known publications and
journals but none that touch on Bitcoin in the way I would like to discuss it. I
have a few good sources to pull from but because the lack of scholarly sources, I
will have to use sources such as Wikipedia and Bitcoin.org because they are the
authoritative source of information for Bitcoin. Before one can pass judgment on
whether Bitcoin can be a valid currency or just a novel idea one must understand its
origins and how it works. On August 18th 2008 the domain name bitcoin.org was
officially registered. October 31,
Baltes Lifespan Development
As I continued with the interview, I started to ask my mother more in depth questions
regarding the physical and cognitive changes she has experienced throughout
adulthood. While she has also experienced many signs of primary aging (i.e. white
hairs, wrinkly skin, and weight gain), cancer continues to be one of her most salient
physical change in adulthood. My mother was diagnosed with stage three breast
cancerwhen she was forty one. She later had her left breast completely removed and
underwent chemotherapy and took ton of medications. As she started to discuss this
experience, I started to analyze Baltes life span theory where development is a life
long process that involves maintaining and finding stability as well as adapting to
gains... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She said that these sudden changes in weight made her realize that she is
definitely getting older and could not simply eat like she used to. Prior to her
forties, she never experienced weight gain and always ate whatever she wanted.
When she was in her early twenties to early thirties, she was accustomed to always
being complimented for being physically attractive. After losing her left breast and
having to wear a breast prosthesis as a replacement, she started to realize how
difficult it was to wear certain outfits, especially tops that were more revealing.
She said this made her feel like she lost not only a physical part of herself but also
her ability to enjoy wearing certain outfits she always loved to wear. After being
diagnosed with cancer, she took more initiative over her health by eating healthier
and exercising more because she knew that cancer could take her life at any time.
She told me exercising and eating better kept her from feeling depressed or lonely.
She felt a sense of determination to overcome her cancer and continue living her life
despite the aggressiveness of her
Igor Stravinsky Conductors
In Igor Stravinsky s standpoint of a conductor, he describes a conductor being a
field . . . more for the making of careers and exploitation of personalities . . . than a
profession for the application of exact and standardized disciplines. It is conclude that
the great conductor . . . substitutes looking for listening . . . [that] the important part
of the performance becomes a gesture.
The essay begins with a comparison of conducting and politics. Politics is given a bad
connotation; as it is seen as a corrupt dealing. Stravinsky states, The success of a
conductor can be an incomplete musician . He wants people to understand that
conductors have no talent but are anglers , men scheming for fame. For example,
conductors can enchant the society women and critics on which is career dependents
upon. Conductors have let the importance of their social standing become more
important than the music itself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He draws in the reader using an advanced vocabulary including egotistical ,
arbitrary authority , and corybantics so one reads into thinking he has the power.
Along the lines of emphasising Stravinsky s power, the string of words egotistical,
false, arbitrary , give the conductor all power. Stravinsky also uses the repetition of a
and p in power politics and arbitrary authority to stylize his writing. It also
emphasises politics and authority which are two of the parties that conducting is

10 Principles Regaarding Ethical Clinic and Set of...
Nuremberg Code is a set of 10 sophisticate principles regarding ethical clinical
research on human being (Grodin, 1994). It is mainly for protection of subjects
human right (Shuster, 1997), such as compulsory of informed consent and the equal
authority of subjects as the physician researcher to end the experiment.
1.2Helsinki Declaration (1964)
Helsinki Declaration is a set of guidelines on clinical research for physician as their
responsibility toward protection of their research subjects (Williams, 2008). World

The vile medical crimes during the WW II had raise the awareness on the need of a
world body which able to define and promulgate medical ethnics around the world
(Tyebkhan, 2003). Thus, the World Medical Association (WMA) was set up in 1947
with 1st Annual Meeting of General Assembly in September 1947, Paris (Human and
Fluss, 2001). WMA is an international confederation composed of national medical
associations that seek to promote medical ethics and professional standards (Human
and Fluss, 2001).
Helsinki Declaration was first developed and promulgated in June 1964 by World
Medical Association General Assembly in Helsinki after more than a decade of
debate and discussion among the members of WMA (Williams, 2008).
Since the first adoption, revision and amendment were done several times on the
Helsinki Declaration for refinement. The Helsinki Declaration had been revised 8
times at meeting of WMA: Tokyo 1957, Italy 1983, Hong Kong 1989, South Africa
1996, Edinburg 2000, Washington 2002, Tokyo 2004, Seoul 2008 and Brazil 2013

3Importance of Nuremberg Code and Helsinki Declaration
In my opinion, Nuremberg Code and Helsinki Declaration play an important role as
guideline in clinical research involving human being. Both Nuremberg Code and
Helsinki Declaration protect the clinical subjects in term of their right and safety. By
referring to them before performing of the protocol,
Character Analysis Of Prince Charming
I think Ella fell for Prince Charming because when she met Prince Charming he
wanted to dance with a girl like her and she fell for him. Ella was at a ball when
they met and Prince Charming stunningly said, would you like to dance with me.
Ella said, YES! Ella also, fell for the prince s handsome, dashing, and bright eyes.
Ella did not know it would turn out bad, until he asked her to marry him and she
said NO. The prince did not approve, locked her up, and his eyes looked cold and
empty now to Ella. Ella thought it was Prince Charmings business to know she did
not want to marry him. But, I still think she fell for him because she got caught up in
is charm.
How was Jed s love for Ella different than Prince Charming s love for her? Jed s love
for Ella is different from Prince Charming s love for her because... Prince
Charming s characteristics are dashing, handsome, and secretive. Jed s
characteristics are sweet, lovable, and a little rude (left Ella without saying, bye ).
Ella fell for the Prince s charm and she also, fell for Jed s kindness. On the other
hand,... Prince Charming locked up Ella, but Jed left Ella without saying, good bye.
Like the Prince, Jed finds Ella very beautiful, but he can see her humor, courage, ...

taking charge and being a leader. Ella took responsibility of her own life by...
trying to escape from the prince, trying to not get married to the prince, and (the
most risky) went to the Sualan war to see Jed. I think Ella is very responsible,
encouraging, and a great leader. Ella also, had great ideas, for example: not
marrying the prince, escaping the dungeon, and staying strong (never got let
down). In my perspective Ella never let anyone stand on her and she did what she
needed to do. Ella got things done like: cleaning, hard work, and she did all that
with barely any energy. So, I think Ella took like in her own hands because she need
to stay strong for her (dead)
The Parasite And Its Effects On The Human Body
5. a. Dracunculus medinensis, or the Guinea worm, has plagued humanity for
thousands of years. This parasite enters the human body initially as larvae from
drinking water. As the worms grow older, they begin to approach the skin of the
individual. The worm causes blisters on the skin that burst and cause massive pain.
In order to extinguish the pain, victims jump into water; however, the water
provides a better situation for the worm to reproduce, so the parasite releases
larvae. In other words, the parasite manipulates a host to behave a certain way. The
easiest way to combat the parasite is to avoid soothing the pain in the water, since
the parasite will fail to deploy the larvae. b. Hymenoepimecis argyraphaga, a wasp,
has a parasitic relationship with a spider, Plesiometa argyra. The wasp injects
poison into the spider, paralysing it; afterwards, the wasp places an egg on top of
the spider s abdomen. The egg quickly hatches and the resulting larva sucks the
blood of the spider. Eventually, it manipulates the spider through the use of
chemicals, making the spider move back and forth while weaving a web
specifically designed to act as a cocoon for the larva. When the web is complete,
the larva sucks all of the spider s blood and drops the remains to the jungle floor.
Scientists, however, have yet to pinpoint the actual method the larva uses to
manipulate the host. The biochemical it uses is extremely potent, as it has been
tested to last a few days. c.
Wal Mart Stores, Inc. Essay
Company Overview: Wal Mart Stores, Inc. is an American multinational retail
corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores and
grocery stores. Headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas, the company was founded
by Sam Walton in 1962 and incorporated on October 31, 1969. As of September 30,
2016, Walmart has 11,573 stores and clubs in 28 countries, under a total of 63
banners. At a glance, Walmart is one of the leading retail companies in the world;
based in the U.S., it has more than 2 million employees in 9,750 retail units under
60 banners in 28 countries. Wal Mart operates more than 5,300 stores, including
about 4,570 Wal Mart stores and 655 Sam s Club warehouses, and a growing
number of smaller format stores. The company s faster growing international
division (26% of sales) numbers more than 6,100 locations; Wal Mart is the #1
retailer in Canada and Mexico and has operations in Asia (where it owns a 95%
stake in Japanese retailer SEIYU), Africa, Europe, and Latin America. At the
beginning of 2016, Walmart closed nearly 269 stores around the world, costing the
company 1 billion dollars in the process. This shift was due to their financial
performance in a move to focus more on supercenters and e commerce. There will
be closures in 154 locations within the United States and include all 102 of Walmart
s Express format stores, 115 stores in Latin American markets as well as some
supercenters and Sam s Club stores. It has been seen in the
Rhino Poaching And The Exotic Animal Trade
Would you change your lifestyle to save the existence of a species? In western
society, it is our lifestyle to go to the doctors when you are sick, drive to work and
buy food from a grocery store. It is hard to remember that around the globe there are
different customs and ways of life. A lot of people make the means to live by
working the land, owning their own shops, fishing, and huntinganimals. Poachers in
Africa make their living by hunting elephants, lions, rhinos, and other exotic
animals. Countries in Asia, like Vietnam and China, have been using rhino horn
medicinally for generations. Would they be willing to change their entire lifestyle
to save the existence of a species? I analyzed an image created by the World
Wildlife Fund that addresses rhino poaching and the exotic animal trade. There are
two subjects in this image, the rhino and those within the rhino. The rhino is being
captured by people, but at the same time, its horn is already being removed. I think
that this represents the huge market for rhino horn. We are collecting as much
horn as we can as fast as we can do it. This idea of our insatiable appetite for exotic
animal products is also reinforced by how the horn is being removed. Somebody,
with a chainsaw, is cutting off the horn below the base of it. This unsustainable
practice will kill the animal. If the horn was cut above the base it would grow back
and the rhino could continue on, but it is common for poachers to remove as much
horn as
Black Cars Research Paper
Do Black Cars Get Hotter In The Summer?
Many people who live in or relocate to warmer climates have concerns regarding the
color of their vehicle. Owning a black car when you reside in a tropical or
subtropical climate could make you wonder if your vehicle is going to become too
hot during the summer. Most people have experienced the extreme discomfort of
getting into a car that is too hot. The stifling air and high heat can leave you breathless
and feeling sick.
The Science
Plainly stated, dark colors absorb heat while light colors reflect heat. Being specific,
the heat that we are referring to is the heat created by the rays of the sun.
Understanding this, it is not far fetched to assume that a black car is going to become
much hotter than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Any dark colored vehicle is liable to become hot in the summer sun. How much hotter
is the question. Numerous studies and tests have been preformed, the results of each
will at the very least agree that the exterior of the vehicle becomes hotter than that of
a light colored vehicle. However, this exterior heat does not necessarily translate to a
heated interior environment.
Dark Vehicle Interiors
Just as with a dark exterior the vehicle will become hot, a car with a dark interior
will also absorb more heat. Most studies illustrate that a dark gray interior will
become hotter faster than a light tan interior, yet in the end both vehicles will end up
being the same temperature inside. In this case, it is not that the darker vehicle gets
hotter, it simply reaches a hot temperature more quickly.
Leather Seating and Components
Throwing many of the color theories out the window is the beloved leather interior
and upholstery feature. Leather, whether it is on your seats, dash, or steering wheel,
is going to become obscenely hot if allowed to sit uncovered in the summer sun. It
does not matter if the leather is tan, beige, gray, black, or purple polka dots. Thanks
to the natural fiber properties of this animal skin, your leather upholstery can become
hot enough to cause burns to the skin, even if it were
Maritime Silk Road Research Paper
The Maritime Silk Road also played an important historical role. The Han Dynasty s
ocean trade routes reached as far as South Asia. There have been records of trade
between the Han Dynasty, the Persian and Roman empires. These trade accounts
were all achieved using these methods or maritime routes. The imported goods from
this route were mainly small ornaments. Later, these sea routes connected coastal
cities. This helped make trade flow more smoothly. Some of the routes also went
through the Strait of Malacca to the Indian Peninsula. Chinas wealthier class
prospered from the beneficiaries of the luxury products given to them during the Han
Dynasty. However, the usage of the maritime Silk Road was limited for various
reasons. Out of the Han Dynasty, there was the establishment of a shipping lane
between Guangdong and India. This helped spread the material culture of all the
countries involved in the intricate routes of the Silk Road. The usage of a maritime
Silk Road encouraged the spread of trade to a more vast area. This can be seen
when the routes extended to the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea. It touched the
Arab Empire and the East African coast as well. The Maritime Silk Road had other
names as well. It was also known as the Maritime Chinaware Road. It is interesting
because these names reflected the goods that had been transported there.
The maritime Silk Road had many aspects to its complex self. The Maritime Silk
Road, similar to the older Silk Road was

  • 1. Good Essay Format Crafting an essay on the topic of "Good Essay Format" can prove to be both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty lies not only in the content you choose to include but also in the meticulous structure required to convey your thoughts effectively. To begin with, the essay should have a compelling introduction that captures the reader's attention and clearly outlines the purpose of the discussion. The challenge here is to strike a balance between being engaging and providing a preview of the essay's main points. Moving on to the body paragraphs, each one should focus on a distinct aspect of the essay format, such as the importance of a strong thesis statement, the use of clear topic sentences, and the incorporation of relevant evidence. Juggling these components while maintaining a logical flow can be demanding, as you strive to present your ideas in a coherent and convincing manner. Moreover, the conclusion must seamlessly tie together the key points discussed, offering a summary without introducing new information. This requires a concise yet comprehensive synthesis of your main arguments, reinforcing the significance of adhering to a good essay format. Throughout the writing process, attention to detail is paramount. Proper grammar, punctuation, and citation are essential for a polished and academically sound essay. Ensuring consistency in formatting styles adds an extra layer of complexity. In conclusion, while composing an essay on "Good Essay Format" may present its challenges, the mastery of this skill is crucial for effective communication in academic and professional settings. It demands a keen understanding of structure, clarity of expression, and attention to detail. • 2. Policy, Politics and Global Trends Essay Barbara Heard MSN 285637 Mentor: Ronda Arnold March 15, 2015 C159/UUT2 POLICY, POLITICS GLOBAL HEALTH TRENDS POLICY ANALYSIS TASK Introduction: This assignment requires that I develop and thoroughly analyze a public policy in order to advocate for one that improves the health of the public and /or the nursing profession globally (local, state, national or international). To do this, I must reflect on several aspects of being a policy maker within the nursing profession. I was instructed to consider the following: В·Why did I select the health or nursing profession policy issue? В·How does this issue affect nursing practice, healthcare delivery and health outcomes for individual, families and/or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... В·Bottom up approach /community based participatory approach one in which those who are impacted by the issue, usually the stakeholders collaborate to design interventions, rather than being told what to do by formal policy. В·Policy the deliberate course of action chosen by an individual or group in order to deal with a specific problem or issue. oPublic policies are choices made by government officials to deal with public policy (Policy Politics in Nursing Health Care, 6th edition) В·Stakeholder person, group or organization that has interest or concern in an organization (businessdictionary) В·Pay for performance payment model healthcare payment systems that offer financial rewards to providers who achieve, improve or excel their performance on specified quality of care and cost measures (HealthCare Incentives Improvement Institute, N.D.) In Public Policy Issue: The policy issue that I have selected to discuss herein is the pay for performance payment model. I feel that this impacts a large number of our population and changes in this regard should be made. This type of payment model aims to use reimbursement to incentivize providers to deliver high quality services. Pay for performance model steps away from the traditional manner of reimbursement of fee for service, in which providers receive payment on the basis of frequency or volume of the services they provide regardless of outcomes. In contrast,
  • 3. Women s Rights, Equality, And Opportunities Equality. The state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities. A simple concept yet so hard to achieve between sexes. Throughout history women have always been the minority and marginalized. They were thought of only being a caregiver, that could not exemplify the same work ethic men did. Women were and still are neglected the same rights men have. Since times have evolved women have fought for the rights they have. Yet even in the year 2015, men are still considered to be the superiority. Women are still denied the equality due to their gender. Ever since the creation of religion women have been considered objects, that they are made to bear the child and serve the husband. Biblical views were very prominent in the formation of America and in today s society. You shall not covet your neighbor s house, you shall not covet your neighbor s wife, or his male slave, his female slave, his ox, his donkey or anything which belongs to your neighbor (Exodus 20:17; Deuteronomy 5:21). In this section of the bible women are considered property. Women are humans just like men and deserve to be treated as an equal. Religion is one of the most common things taught as a child and by demonstrating the sexist views. It teaches the new generations that women are not people but objects to be owned.Due to these point of views men believe that they are superior and that women should praise them. Religion one of the most followed viewpoints since human existence

My hope for my literary prehistoric novel with its strong though somewhat insecure female heroine, traditional and original Native American based myths and legends weaved throughout the storyline, and plausible explanation as to why a thriving community suddenly abandons its extensive village built on a series of phenomenal crescent shaped earthwork mounds is that it be published and appeal to archeology, history, Native American folklore, naturalist, and romance enthusiasts, not to mention those simply charmed by Louisiana s unique landscape as a
  • 6. The Giant Pacific Octopus The Giant Pacific Octopus This paper is about octopus dofleni, which is a bottom dwelling octopus that lives on coasts of the pacific ocean, from Northern Japan to California. This essay will provide a brief overview of its life, habits and other characteristics of this, intelligent and creative invertebrate and member of the Octopodidae family. The life of the pacific giant may begin at any time of the year. The mating season however tends to peak in the month of December, with most of their eggs being laid in April and May. Octopuses reproduction is sexual and takes place in the somewhat shallow depths of 25 100m and can last hours. The fertilization process begins with the male octopus, he uses his third right tentacle which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All octopuses have the ability to shoot out a jet of purple or blackish ink like fluid from under their eyes, in order to perform a disappearing act when they feel threatened. The octopus can shoot out several blotches of this fluid before the fluid sac is emptied. This trick is not always an option, the ink is actually toxic to the octopus, and if shot in a confined area, the octopus will become sick or even die. Octopuses have fairly good eyes, in fact they are comparable to ours in clarity. The eyes of the octopus differ from ours, in the aspect that they focus by moving in, and out while the human eye works by changing the shape and size of the lens itself. The octopus also posseses the most advanced brain of all invertebrates, with both short, and long term memories. This allows the octopus to learn in much the same way as humans, through trial and error. When an octopus learns a lesson it remembers and puts its knowledge to use in the future. The octopus has eight arms, with 250 suckers on each arm for a total of 2000 suckers on their body. These suckers are very sensitive to touch, in fact, the octopus can differentiate between different objects just as well with their suckers as they can with their eyes. Some species have particular suckers that are larger than the rest This is to aid in reproduction.

I Got My Eye Put Out And We Grow Accustomed To The Dark Both of Dickinson s poems Before I got my eye put out and We Grow Accustomed to the Dark dementraste the literal loss of sight or physically stumbling in the darkness yet in a metaphoric way. In her first poem, Dickinson expresses how much she misses seeing and how she feels without vision, she even states certain things. She has no other way to see them because of her lost in sight, all she has is her memories. As for her second poem, Dickinson goes on to talk about how our eyes adjust from lightto dark and how we use our sight. In Dickinson s Before I Got My Eye Put Out, she has the loss of her sight and is in a metaphoric darkness. Her poem goes on to express how she lost her sense of vision and how she misses it. • 8. Overview Program Evaluation Essay Overview of Program Evaluation HCS/549 April 15, 2013 Overview of Program Evaluation Program evaluation is a useful resource to evaluate programs that are currently an organization or an industry is making good use of. Evaluating programs not only bring out the strengths and weaknesses but also identifies the picture of the plans implemented. The purpose of this paper is to examine the purpose for program evaluation and why it can be useful to an organization. This paper will speak of the five most common types of program evaluation models and will select one program evaluation model to describe from week one s reading. Purpose for program evaluation There is only one overall purpose for program evaluation activities: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each of the models discussed includes emphases that are valid aspects of program evaluation. One value of thinking about models lies in developing an appreciation of the range of questions evaluators can consider. The specific questions being addressed by an evaluation or the specific aspects of the program setting often make one or another of the models especially useful (Posavac amp; Carey, 2007, p.23 25). The models: The traditional model, Social Science model, Industrial Inspection model, Black Box Evaluation, and Objectives Based Evaluation model, are very common and helpful in different types of organizations and environment. The model that is very interesting to use and describe is the Objective Based Evaluation model. Objectives Based Evaluation In an effort to design an evaluation for a specific program, some approaches emphasize working with clearly stated program goals and objectives so that the degree to which such goals and objectives are achieved can be measured. This has been the most prevalent model used for program evaluation. Examining goals and objectives seems to be an essential aspect of evaluation; it is important to judge a program relative to its particular structure and what it is designed to achieve (Posavac amp; Carey, 2007, p.23 25). It is very important for organizations to clearly and closely examine their
  • 9. The Conventions Of Parents Face Raising Their Children Essay Conventions of Parenting in Leave it to Beaver Most modern family films highlight the hardships that parents face raising their children, which are often then followed by moments that make parenting the most rewarding. Films often sugar coat events of how parents may react to certain situation which is a misrepresentation of a family, but we must keep in mind that films are not real life stories unless they are documentaries. In this Essay, I will be using Marianne Hirsch s work on the familial gaze and Sharon Varallo s piece on family photographs as tools in order to analyse the film Leave it to Beaver. The film Leave it to Beaver released August 1997, is based on the successful Tv series comedy that was released in 1957. I will be drawing on both Hirsch and Varallo s work which explores the representation of western and non western families by using photographs, and using their incite to further strengthen my argument. Not all families are alike, most certainly not in values, religion, culture, race, just to name a few, but all families have hardships and it s how those hardships are handled that make a family stronger. A stronger family often starts with the parents and how they treat one another. For example, parents are seen as role models to their children and those kids pick up habits, from their parents, whether they be good or bad. As I analyse the film Leave it to Beaver, I will be exploring the portrayal of parenting conventions that accurately represent
  • 10. Hellenistic Misconceptions SYNOPTIC COMPARISON OF THE TEXTS Now that we have uncovered some of the significance of the location of the text both in relation to the surrounding narratives, and geographically it is time to look at each of the accounts, and how they compare to one another. The account of the miracle in Mark is the longest, and most detailed of the three, and I will be exploring it first. Luke s account is very similar to Mark s, and in fact it is believed that Luke used Mark as the sole source for his account of the story, and simply changed the language possibly changing the meaning, and focus of the text for his Gospel , so I will look at his narrative second. Finally Matthew is the shortest, and least detailed account of this narrative containing some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In verse 2, and 3 the word ОјОЅО·ОјОµОЇП‰ОЅ is used meaning among the tombs . In verse 5 however a different word is used. ОјОЅО®ОјО±ПѓО№ОЅ meaning as it is translated simply tomb . Making note of this distinction is important because if we look at the literal meaning of the translation of the word used in verses 2, and 3 we get a clearer picture of the condition of the demon possessed man. The first word that is used to describe the tomb emphasizes the fact that the man lived among the dead . I find this linguistic point interesting because it is an instance where our English language is not adequate to describe what the author was trying to convey in his text. When we look at the underlying meaning of the two separate words, and gain a deeper understanding of the underlying meaning of the first we get a more powerful picture of the circumstances that this demon possessed man was in. Aside from living among the tombs the man also suffered in other ways due to his demon possession. One example of this is 5:5 Night and day among the tombs and on the mountain he was always howling and bruising himself with stones. (NRSV) these two examples of the miserable state of the mans life are an illustration of the power that evil can have over a person . Understanding the extent of the power that the evil demon had over the man makes the illustration of the power that Jesus has over the demon all the more
  • 11. The Gentleman s Game The gentleman s game What comes to your mind when I say the world s hardest sport? I m sure many of you start picturing football, baseball, maybe even hockey, but how many of you would ever consider golf to be the hardest sport? Unlike the three sports mentioned above in golf you don t have any teammates to help you out if you re have a bad game. In golfyou have to be good at all aspects of the game in order to be successful unlike in football, baseball, and hockey where you can still be successful by only mastering one position. In football every football field measures the same size, in baseball the pitcher is always the same distance away from the batter, and hockey rinks are all the same size every time, however in golf ever course is different and you don t get a home field advantage like you do in other sports you have to be prepared for everything. This is why I consider golf to be the world s hardest sport because there are no teammates it s just up to you and your caddy, you have to be great at every aspect of the game if you want to be successful on the PGA tour, and finally ever course is different and you have to be able to make adjustments from course to course in order to succeed. I believe I am able to make this claim because I have an abundance of experience from playing nearly every sport in my childhood. I earned three varsity letters in high school and competed at a varsity level for four years in golf, lacrosse, and cross country. Out of

However, this was the result of the experimentation and training, much of which occurred during the Spanish Civil War. In the same way, Russian Tactical Aviation developed ground support capabilities that were important to stop the German invasion. On the American side, as a result of the performance of the Tactical Air Command (TAC), the independence of the Air Force was related to its ability to provide close air support to the Army when deemed needed. The National Security Act of 1947 gave the Air Force the responsibility of providing close air support for ground forces. However,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 13. Hydrogen as an Option for Fuel With gas prices escalating and fossil fuels becoming limited, scientists have been researching an alternative fuel source that will be more abundant and cost efficient. Issues with our current fuel source include the pollution that is emitted in our air and water sources and the fact that fossil fuels are becoming scarce. One alternative to gasoline is the use of hydrogen as a fuel source. With hydrogen as a fuel source pollution will be in decline, it has become increasingly more abundant than fossil fuels through extracting hydrogen from various sources, and is domestically produced. There are many pros to using hydrogen as an alternative fuel source; namely, its abundance, its low pollution, and the fact that it is being researched and extracted domestically. Hydrogen is one of the most abundant elements on earth and can be found in water, hydrocarbons and other organic matter. Because of hydrogen being so abundant scientists are able to extract it from a variety of sources, therefore, the problem with hydrogen as a fuel source is how to exactly make hydrogen an efficient fuel source. Currently hydrogen is extracted from natural gas, but this releases the greenhouse gas CO2 and uses up a limited resource. This does not relieve our current issues with using up fossil fuels, just displaces them. Recent research has suggested a means of how to resolve both of these problems. Zhang, a research scientist from Virginia Tech, and his team have altered an enzyme that can

Materials: two 600 mL beakers 1.5 liters of water 1 dropper 4 drops of liquid laundry detergent 1 spoon 5 grams of baking soda (CO2 source) 1 stirrer 1 single hole punch spinach leaves 1 syringe (needle removed) 1 glass bowl (heatsink) 1 lamp (light source) 1 timers Procedure: Fill the beaker with 500 mL of water and 2 drops of detergent. Add 5 grams of baking soda using the spoon. Using the stirrer, stir gently; there should be no bubbles when finished. Use the hole puncher to punch out 10 leaf discs from the spinach leaves. Remove the plunger (back) of the syringe. Insert the leaf discs into the barrel (main cylinder) of the syringe. Re insert the plunger of the syringe, pushing forward until all air has been removed. Using the syringe, draw out 7.5 mL of the solution. The discs (still in the syringe) should float in the solution. Push out all air that may have been drawn out in step 6. Economic Conditions Economic conditions can have a major influence on any company across the globe in today s world. Panera Bread can be affected by economic conditions in different types of its segments. Panera has many signature soups, pastas, and other food products that are released during the year for certain periods of time for the season. These products can be very rewarding to the company by the seasonal times such as Christmas, when people have a little extra money to spend they go to Panera for their special soup craving. Before the economic downturn of 2008 2009, Panera made three marketing initiatives to try to raise awareness and bring home the idea of food you crave, food you can trust. The economic environment of the downturn in 2009 made these 3 marketing initiatives partially successful due to the bad economic environment. Acid Base Titration Lab Report Acid Base Titrations Najib Chowdhury CHM1311 C03 Yayha Albkuri Introduction: Acids and Bases The experiment involves with the investigation of the unknown solutions used and the determination of their concentrations. The techniques and their expected outcomes are elaborated further in detail in the following report. For the most part, Arrhenius s definition of an acid and base is employed in this experiment as it is sufficient for this case. Acid can be represented visually using this equation: гЂ–HNOгЂ—_3 (aq)вџє H^(+ ) (aq)+ гЂ–гЂ–NOгЂ—_3гЂ—^ (aq) As per Arrhenius s definition, HNO3 donates its H+. Likewise, the base has the same underlying design. In this case, NaOH donates a hydroxide ion. NaOH (aq)вџєгЂ–NaгЂ—^+ (aq)+ гЂ–OHгЂ—^( ) (aq) Concentration For determining the concentration of an acid, it is imperative that the amount (in moles) of an acid being used is known that is being mixed with a certain amount of water (in litres). The equation for concentration is: Concentration (mol/L)=(amount of acid(mol))/(volume of water (L)) Safety Precautions: The experiment deals with the use of organic solutions that are corrosive in nature, the use of extra precautions is strongly advised. It is highly recommended that the magnetic stirrer is not disturbed during the dissolution of different solution, as

A Clean Well-Lighted Place Waiter In A Clean, Well Lighted Place, it seems as if the young waiter resembles Henry because he is young and the most masculine from the other characters involved; he only thinks of what he wants. For example, when the deaf old man wants another round of brandy the young waiter feels sleepy and says, I never get into bed before three o clock. He should have killed himself last week. The waiter took the brandy bottle and another saucer from the counter inside the cafe and marched out to the old man s table. He put down the saucer and poured the glass full of brandy. You should have killed yourself last week, he said to the deaf old man (Hemingway Clean 289). Both the young waiter and Henry seem to fully know what s going on and are in control.... After all, he said to himself, it s probably only insomnia. Many must have it (Hemingway Clean 291). The old waiter is on his way to a bar as he talks to himself, it is dark; in, A Farewell to Arms, Henry says, I am afraid of Him in the night sometimes (A Farewell. 62), meaning Hemingway is scared of God at night because he thinks God may punish him or not protect him from evil. So when he arrives at the bar he feels safe and a little foolish for scaring himself and smiles. But by him memorizing parts of the prayer he has very little faith. When the old waiter is praying, he wants God to have mercy on him, protect him because he s scared and lost. The old waiter also lies to himself trying to make things seem a little brighter by convincing himself it s only insomnia and Many must have it (Hemingway Clean 291). The old waiter has no faith, is scared of the dark and goes to sleep during the day; not very masculine because he s scared, lost and not in control if he can t sleep at night when most people sleep the deaf old man from, A Clean, Well Lighted Place, by having no faith because God didn t save Catherine, and because according to Henry, Everything was gone inside of me (Hemingway Farewell 282).

In Digging, Heaney establishes the setting of the poem by describing that he is in what seems to be a room with a window that overlooks an area of green. He starts the poem off with Between my finger and my thumb / The squat pen rests; snug as a gun. / Under my window, a clean rasping sound / When the spade sinks into gravelly ground: / My father, digging. I look down ( Digging ). He uses the appeals to sound, as in a clean rasping sound and the spade sinks into gravelly ground, as well as appeals to sight, I look down, and appeals to touch, [b]etween my finger and my thumb, to create an image in the reader s mind of what that day, or perhaps thought, looked like. The image that is created is one that shows contrast, in this case between an unidentified narrator and his father. As the poem continues, Heaney describes But I ve no spade to follow men like them. / Between my finger and my thumb / The squat pen rests. / I ll dig with it. The contrast that this furthers is the idea that the narrator is very different from his father, creating a divide that can be the start of tension. Because the narrator and his father cannot necessarily understand each other due to these differences, as each chooses his different approach to digging, the narrator seems to understand that not much can be done about the father s choice to remain a

In fact, nearly everything in the story is in a process of changing. People are transformed as a result of love or hate and sometimes as revenge. This paper will attempt to argue that transformation is the main theme in the metamorphosis and the chief agent of transformations is love. Metamorphoses is more than a collection of stories of mythical adventures, it is a reflection on the theme of metamorphosis or transformation. An example of transformation is in book I when Apollo speaks unfavorably to Cupid, who shoots two arrows in revenge. The first arrow causes Apollo to fall in love. Apollo goes after Daphne, but she rejects him. Apollo begs and insists, and Daphne cries out to her father for help. He reacts by transforming her into a laurel tree. Not entirely discouraged, Apollo flounders the tree. At this point, Jupiter notices a young nymph, Io, and his heart suddenly becomes filled with lust. He then rapes her. Juno, Jupiter s wife, is fishy about their behavior and starts suspecting something. To disturb and cast off his wife, Jupiter turns Io into a cow. But this move makes Juno even more suspicious of course which leads her to ask Jupiter for Io as a present and sets many eyed Argus to keep an eye over the transformed Io. Besides the two main themes to Metamorphoses which are transformation and love/lust, there are many reoccurring moral lessons that we see in the metamorphosis, Fate is a lesson we learn about the gods, Fate plays a major role in Metamorphoses, as Ovid grasps the idea that life is like a story which has already been written. People cannot escape their destiny. Fate is a concept which both guides and weakens the power of the gods. Mortals pray to the gods both to find out their fate, and to learn ways of avoiding it. At

Roosevelt, unlike the three former presidents, with his solid reputation from his significant New Deal programs, took a step to reactivate the US role in the world, leading an isolated nation toward more international affairs. During his first term, FDR s view toward foreign affairs differed little from the other isolationist presidents. Neutrality Acts were signed by the president, intending to keep the nation out of war. However, as the war between China and Japan unfolded, Roosevelt s actions began to be viewed as a violation of strict isolationism; by not invoking the neutrality law in this case, he had made a favorable situation for China since munitions to China continued to flourish. Although identified with one of those seeking peace, Roosevelt s isolationist mind was challenged by the German occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1939, which revealed the nature of Hitler to him―an international gangster who willed war on the world and therefore had to be stopped. Having realized this, Roosevelt went to the Congress and asked for permission to sell arms to the Allies, which did not work. These inherited advantages allowed them to decimate other civilizations and appropriate their resources making them even more powerful. Agriculture is only one of the many contributes to where we are today. Geographic location affects agriculture because each specific crop has needs, if you can t meet those needs, then you can t grow the crops. Some plants need super wet land and some need super dry land ,let s say you live in Papua New Guinea they live closer the the equator so they have the same weather year round. So if you re constantly getting the same amount of sunlight all year then you ll only be able to grow the same crops over and over again. Essay On Eucharist And Eschatology The Lord s Supper, or the Eucharist, is a representative meal of the Gospel; bread and wine represent the human body of Jesus sent by the Father to be broken for our iniquities so that we may have everlasting life through the Spirit. In this respect, it is easy to see how the Eucharist and eschatology are related, for the sacrifice of Jesus gives believers hope for their future. However, there are many intricate connections between the two doctrines that the Church and believers fail to recognize. Similarly, eschatology makes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, eschatology is best understood when it considers Good Friday, for without His death, Christians have no reason to hope for the renewal of creation. However, this renewal does not come without judgment, a prominent tension point when discussing eschatology. Thus, Moore Keish argues that in light of the Eucharist, this tension can be resolved. The Eucharist, she explains, serves as a reminder that the Judge is also the Redeemer , yet it is important to remember that judgment has already come when Jesus bears the sins of the world (122). For Christians, judgment is the past and future, and it motivates present actions that are honoring and God fearing. The doctrines of the Eucharist and eschatology are best understood in the context of each other, yet Moore Keish continues, arguing that the unification of the doctrines unites the body of believers. In partaking in the communal sacrament, believers get a taste of the eschatological feast of the Lamb when they will all be seated at the table of the King (116). Therefore, communion is more an act within community than a display of one s own salvation. The breaking of the bread and pouring of the wine is an act in which the disciples partook. When the Church performs the Eucharist, they are joining with the body of believers past and present in the remembrance of Good Friday while yearning for the day all believers will be gathered around the Lord s table. One of Moore Keish s central claims

It gave him the excuse for the government to condone mass destruction of Jewish property and businesses. Even though Jews were losing their liberty they still endured it as best they could. However Kristallnacht convinced them once and for all that they were in serious trouble. Kristallnacht was organized
  • 36. My Next Door Neighbor From My Childhood I decided to interview my next door neighbor from my childhood. His name Dana born in 1942 and grew up on a tree farm, but claims to have been there in the middle of the changing times . When Dana started talking about records he did not have many personal at home stories. The reason being he lived on a farm and his family did not have that much disposable income to buy a record player. He was also only 8 years old by the time of the 50 s. However he stated that his friend Eugene a couple miles down the road did own a player and he would frequently visit just to listen to music. Infact many of the children around his age would meet once a week at Eugene s and listen to the new thing. Dana and his friends kept this weekly meeting up until their 20 s and as they got older they began earning income and could start buying records that were more current. Dana laughed when talking about their favorite records saying most of his friends and partially himself could have been teenieboppers which from what I gather means you liked Frank Sinatra and pop at the time. His favorite was Bing Crosby especially his recording of A White Christmas which was released before even his birth. I think it is amazing how songs had such longevity and impact back then as to now. Billboards might have a song at its number one for a week before it is booted aside. While a song might reign on top for a couple months back then. I mean we still listen to A White Christmas every year in December

Piano industries in Argentina and Mexico had popped up, which were accessible to the middle class, thus creating a demand for sheet music. Cuba even had a piano factory. This increase in access caused an explosion of pianomusicto be written. The Caribbean also was influenced. It had internationalized the habanera, a dance that was very popular in Cuba. Habanera was often used in dance music and theater. Moving onto the 20th century, popular music genres included Puerto Rican plena, Argentine tango, Dominican merengue, and Brazilian samba. • 40. Bystander Effect Essay Research Summary My article was Darley s and Latane s, Bystander Intervention in Emergencies: Diffusion of Responsibility. They conducted this study to figure out how would people react in various group sizes in an emergency situation. As well as which one those individuals in different size groups would go and call for help. The concept of this was taken from the famous case of Kitty Genovese, who was stabbed to death multiple times and finally was killed in her own neighborhood and no one intervened. This is known to be the bystander effect. However, in this research experiment, people were either in groups of 2, 3, or 6 and then they would overhear the person having an epileptic seizure. It was predicted that due to the presence of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The person who was having the seizure specifically requested help and showed that he thought he was dying. There were a few differences on this base research experiment. To begin with, there were various group sizes in various instances. For instance, there were either groups of two, three, and six people. There was only one actual participant per group, while the rest were part of the experiment. This was the independent variable. It was intended to test if the number of individuals would diffuse the duty given in a crisis circumstance. In addition to that, various types of individuals took part in this study. Different genders and authority figure was presented. This person was a premedical student working at the emergency ward at Bellevue Hospital. Initially, it was meant to find any distinction in different genders responding. Also, it was intended to figure out if the presence of an authority figure would affect the participant s response if they were to assume that the medical student would take charge in a crisis situation. Furthermore, the dependent variable was the speed of the individuals reporting the emergency of someone having a seizure to the experimenter. The experiment was terminated if individuals did not seek assistance for the seizure victim within six minutes. Thus, this research was conducted in a correlational fashion. Then the true essence of the experiment was revealed. Then

It can be traded anywhere; it is accepted for all sorts of goods and services. There are online market places and exchanges to allow you to exchange Bitcoin for USD or other currencies. But with an entirely digital nature comes the potential for a very risky business. The currency, sites, and transactions all have the possibility of being hacked. Theft is still likely to occur with digital currencies. The way transactions are processed gives the currency an anonymous nature. This anonymity allows for it to be used in unethical and ultimately illegal ways. This paper shows both positive and negative sides of Bitcoin and demonstrates how Bitcoin can be a valid currency with better control. Due to the recent nature of this topic and how it will be discussed in this paper, there are very few reasonable scholarly sources available. There are a few from well known publications and journals but none that touch on Bitcoin in the way I would like to discuss it. I have a few good sources to pull from but because the lack of scholarly sources, I will have to use sources such as Wikipedia and Bitcoin.org because they are the authoritative source of information for Bitcoin. Before one can pass judgment on whether Bitcoin can be a valid currency or just a novel idea one must understand its origins and how it works. • 46. The Parasite And Its Effects On The Human Body 5. a. Dracunculus medinensis, or the Guinea worm, has plagued humanity for thousands of years. This parasite enters the human body initially as larvae from drinking water. As the worms grow older, they begin to approach the skin of the individual. The worm causes blisters on the skin that burst and cause massive pain. In order to extinguish the pain, victims jump into water; however, the water provides a better situation for the worm to reproduce, so the parasite releases larvae. In other words, the parasite manipulates a host to behave a certain way. The easiest way to combat the parasite is to avoid soothing the pain in the water, since the parasite will fail to deploy the larvae. b. Hymenoepimecis argyraphaga, a wasp, has a parasitic relationship with a spider, Plesiometa argyra. The wasp injects poison into the spider, paralysing it; afterwards, the wasp places an egg on top of the spider s abdomen. The egg quickly hatches and the resulting larva sucks the blood of the spider. Eventually, it manipulates the spider through the use of chemicals, making the spider move back and forth while weaving a web specifically designed to act as a cocoon for the larva. When the web is complete, the larva sucks all of the spider s blood and drops the remains to the jungle floor. Scientists, however, have yet to pinpoint the actual method the larva uses to manipulate the host. The biochemical it uses is extremely potent, as it has been tested to last a few days. c.

In western society, it is our lifestyle to go to the doctors when you are sick, drive to work and buy food from a grocery store. It is hard to remember that around the globe there are different customs and ways of life. A lot of people make the means to live by working the land, owning their own shops, fishing, and huntinganimals. Poachers in Africa make their living by hunting elephants, lions, rhinos, and other exotic animals. Countries in Asia, like Vietnam and China, have been using rhino horn medicinally for generations. Would they be willing to change their entire lifestyle to save the existence of a species? I analyzed an image created by the World Wildlife Fund that addresses rhino poaching and the exotic animal trade. There are two subjects in this image, the rhino and those within the rhino. The rhino is being captured by people, but at the same time, its horn is already being removed. I think that this represents the huge market for rhino horn. We are collecting as much horn as we can as fast as we can do it. This idea of our insatiable appetite for exotic animal products is also reinforced by how the horn is being removed. Somebody, with a chainsaw, is cutting off the horn below the base of it. This unsustainable practice will kill the animal. If the horn was cut above the base it would grow back and the rhino could continue on, but it is common for poachers to remove as much horn as

Any dark colored vehicle is liable to become hot in the summer sun. How much hotter is the question. Numerous studies and tests have been preformed, the results of each will at the very least agree that the exterior of the vehicle becomes hotter than that of a light colored vehicle. However, this exterior heat does not necessarily translate to a heated interior environment. Dark Vehicle Interiors Just as with a dark exterior the vehicle will become hot, a car with a dark interior will also absorb more heat. Most studies illustrate that a dark gray interior will become hotter faster than a light tan interior, yet in the end both vehicles will end up being the same temperature inside. In this case, it is not that the darker vehicle gets hotter, it simply reaches a hot temperature more quickly. There have been records of trade between the Han Dynasty, the Persian and Roman empires. These trade accounts were all achieved using these methods or maritime routes. The imported goods from this route were mainly small ornaments. Later, these sea routes connected coastal cities. This helped make trade flow more smoothly. Some of the routes also went through the Strait of Malacca to the Indian Peninsula. Chinas wealthier class prospered from the beneficiaries of the luxury products given to them during the Han Dynasty. However, the usage of the maritime Silk Road was limited for various reasons. Out of the Han Dynasty, there was the establishment of a shipping lane between Guangdong and India. This helped spread the material culture of all the countries involved in the intricate routes of the Silk Road. The usage of a maritime Silk Road encouraged the spread of trade to a more vast area. This can be seen when the routes extended to the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea. It touched the Arab Empire and the East African coast as well. The Maritime Silk Road had other names as well. It was also known as the Maritime Chinaware Road. It is interesting because these names reflected the goods that had been transported there. The maritime Silk Road had many aspects to its complex self. The Maritime Silk Road, similar to the older Silk Road was
