Nature provides inspiration for designing materials and systems, which derive their functions from highly organized structures. The ordered organization of hierarchical structures in organisms begins via the molecular recognition of inorganics by proteins that control interactions and followed by the highly efficient self-assembly across scales.Following the molecular biological principle, proteins could also be used in controlling materials formation in practical engineering via self-assembled, hybrid, functional materials structures. In molecular biomimetics, material-specific peptides could be the key in the molecular engineering of biology-inspired materials.

Rejuvenation type 3 is deepest and targets deep dermal collagen disorders and skin laxity and sagging. Traditionally, these changes have been treated with surgery, such as rhytidectomy, blepharoplasty, and brow lifts. However, with the increasing demands of patients undergoing cosmetic surgery, minimally invasive procedures have gained popularity. In non-ablative tissue tightening, the epidermal injury is minimized, and thermal energy is directed into the reticular dermis and subcutis, where immediate tissue contraction and delayed remodeling are believed to collectively cause skin tightening. The attractive features of non-ablative skin tightening are limited post-procedure healing time, ability to return to work or social engagements, reduced risk of adverse events compared with ablative resurfacing or lifts procedures, and less need for physician oversight. For all these reasons, more patients are appropriate candidates for non-ablative skin rejuvenation than for ablative or surgical skin tightening. In an effort to increase penetration depth and strive towards collagen shrinkage and skin tightening, radiofrequency wavelengths have been recently employed

In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over

New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection

Glutathione Treatment Clinic
2. Glutathione Treatment
Glutathione is involved in tissue building
and repair, making chemicals and proteins
needed in the body, and in immune system
function. People take glutathione for aging,
alcohol use disorder, liver disease, heart
disease, and many other conditions, but
there is no good scientific evidence to
support these uses.
Glutathione treatment refers to the use of
glutathione, a naturally occurring
antioxidant, for various purposes, including
skin lightening, detoxification, and overall
health promotion.
3. Uses & Effectiveness ?
Possibly Effective for Nerve damage caused by the drug cisplatin.
Taking glutathione by IV seems to help prevent nerve damage and
other toxicities from the cancer drug cisplatin. IV products can only
be given by a healthcare provider.
There is interest in using glutathione for a number of other
purposes, but there isn't enough reliable information to say whether
it might be helpful.
4. Making DNA, the building blocks of proteins and cells
Supporting immune function
Forming sperm cells
Breaking down some free radicals
Helping certain enzymes function
Regenerating vitamins C and E
Transporting mercury out of the brain
Helping the liver and gallbladder deal with fats
Assisting regular cell death (a process known as apoptosis)
Glutathione important Functions:
5.
6. Side Effects
When taken by mouth: Glutathione is possibly safe when used in doses up to 500
mg daily for up to 2 months. There isn't a lot of information available about its
possible side effects.
When inhaled: Glutathione is possibly safe. There isn't a lot of information
available about its possible side effects.
When applied to the skin: There isn't enough reliable information to know if
glutathione is safe. It might cause rash when applied to the skin.
7. Glutathione Treatment
Skin Lightening
Glutathione is often used for its potential skin-lightening effects. It is believed to inhibit
the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color. By reducing melanin
production, glutathione can help lighten the skin and improve issues such as
hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and uneven skin tone.
Antioxidant and Detoxification Effects
Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect cells from damage caused by free
radicals. It plays a crucial role in the detoxification process by binding to and neutralizing
harmful substances, such as pollutants and toxins. This detoxification effect may contribute
to overall skin health and radiance.
8. Glutathione Treatment
Immune System Support
Glutathione is involved in supporting the immune system by boosting the activity of
immune cells and promoting their optimal functioning. It helps in maintaining a healthy
immune response, which can contribute to improved skin health and overall well-being.
Anti-Aging Benefits
As an antioxidant, glutathione helps combat oxidative stress, which is a major contributor
to the aging process. By reducing oxidative damage to cells, glutathione may have anti-
aging effects, potentially helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other
signs of skin aging.
9. Signs and Symptoms
Glutathione treatment, when administered properly, is generally considered safe. However, it's
important to be aware of potential signs and symptoms that may occur during or after
glutathione treatment.
Allergic Reactions: Some individuals may experience allergic reactions to glutathione.
Signs of an allergic reaction may include hives, itching, swelling (particularly of the face, lips,
tongue, or throat), difficulty breathing, or a rash.
Gastrointestinal Upset: Glutathione treatment, particularly when taken orally, may cause
gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach discomfort.
These symptoms are usually mild and resolve on their own. It may be helpful to take
glutathione with food or consult with a healthcare professional if the symptoms persist.
10. Signs and Symptoms
Skin Reactions: Glutathione treatment for skin lightening may occasionally cause skin reactions.
This can include dryness, redness, or a temporary darkening of the skin. These effects are typically
mild and temporary.
Headache: Some individuals may experience mild headaches during or after glutathione
treatment. Staying well-hydrated and ensuring adequate rest may help alleviate these symptoms.
If headaches persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional.
Fluctuations in Blood Pressure: Glutathione treatment, particularly when administered
intravenously, may cause temporary fluctuations in blood pressure. It is important to have
glutathione treatment performed by a qualified healthcare professional who can monitor your
blood pressure and ensure safety during the procedure.
11. Medical Procedures and Treatments can address specific Glutathione
concerns.
Glutathione is primarily known for its antioxidant properties and its role in detoxification. While
there are medical procedures and treatments that can indirectly support the function of
glutathione in the body, it's important to note that direct administration of glutathione is
typically done through oral supplements, intravenous (IV) injections, or topical application
Intravenous (IV) Therapy
IV therapy involves the administration of fluids and nutrients directly into the
bloodstream. In some cases, IV therapy may include glutathione supplementation.
This method allows for rapid delivery of glutathione and other nutrients, potentially
enhancing their absorption and effectiveness.

Detoxification Protocols
Medical detoxification protocols aim to support the body's natural detoxification
processes. These protocols may include therapies such as chelation therapy, which
involves the administration of substances that bind to and remove heavy metals and
toxins from the body.
Nutritional Support
Proper nutrition and supplementation can help support glutathione production and
function. Certain nutrients, such as N-acetylcysteine (NAC), alpha-lipoic acid, and
selenium, are involved in the production and recycling of glutathione. Working with a
healthcare professional or registered dietitian can help optimize your nutritional intake
to support glutathione levels.

Lifestyle Modifications
Certain lifestyle factors can influence glutathione levels in the body. Regular exercise,
stress reduction techniques, adequate sleep, and avoidance of environmental toxins
can all contribute to optimizing glutathione function. Engaging in a healthy lifestyle
