watched the court session in room 202A of case #16 077 01126 between John Lewis
and the State of Washington. Present in the courtroom was Judge Whitener,

appointed court member to assist the defendant, Deputy Kevin Pressel who gave the
witness testimony, and lastly the court reporter, clerk, and bailiff (no jury). In this

The guessing based on visual clues was what I wanted, and it indicated that
hearing people cannot tell if a person is deaf or not by looking at them. Knowing
that Jeremy Joseph and CJ Jones were not famous, I decided to add Marlee Matlin
and Sean Beardy to the survey as both are well known deaf actors. In doing so, I
believed that the vast majority would know that they are both deaf, but I was
incorrect in this assumption. Only 72.4% (165/228) of all people who participated
knew Marlee Matlin was deaf and 73.1% (155/212) of all hearing people knew
Marlee Matlin was deaf. This number was much lower than expected as Marlee
Matlin is by far the most iconic deaf actor in Hollywood. The findings were more
dismal for Sean Berdy. 46% (104/228) of all participants thought he was hearing
and 42% (96/228) thought he was deaf. The results were disheartening because I
thought most people knew that they were deaf and they were supposed to be more
of a control for people s knowledge, unfortunately this was not the case. My research
has once again indicated that hearing people cannot tell if a person is deaf or not by
just looking at them.
To take this research a little bit further, I talked to ten of the people who I know

anything to a people facing such terrible affliction. Even though Father Paneloux
believed what he was preaching, I believe he was completely wrong. This would

kind of thinking is completely wrong. I would do this by ensuring the people that
God does not cause suffering in this current age and that he even wants to help
everyone through the affliction they are currently experiencing. It would be very
difficult to drive out the false doctrine that Father Paneloux has taught to the people
of Oran, but that would have to be my first priority. Otherwise, the rest of my

between Magnesium and Hydrochloric acid, using the mole concept.

have special abilities to help contribute and make the performance great; although

show more interesting to watch on and off the stage. There are the supportive, the
helpful, and the patient ones. The supportive artists tend to be the older participants
or students who have been in show choir for more than 2 years in a row. One

The play is set in the ancient Yoruban city of Oyo in Nigeria, nineteen forty three. The

This is an interesting point of departure as to whether the happenings of the text are
agreeable or disagreeable. The first standpoint is the thorny issue of suicide in African
culture. The ceremony is that of a social process. Elesin wishes to perform this act
not for personal gain, but as a social experience that will involve his fellow
countrymen as it is his duty to do so. The second standpoint is that of suicide from
a Western point of view. It is seen to have nothing that ties an individual s death to
that of another s in the supernatural world. In accordance with Christianity if a
person commits suicide that is the end of their journey. It is clear that the two
standpoints differ in standing as one sees suicide as a personal act and the other a
communal. The play is certainly fascinating and stimulating, but as for taking a
standpoint on the moral issues involved it is possible to say that despite tradition the
willing suicide of an individual is not something to be celebrated as it is in Death and
the Kings Horseman.

Newjack is Ted Conover s personal memoir as a correctional officer in one of New
York s famous maximum security prisons: Sing Sing. The job of a correctional
officer consists of long days locking and unlocking cells, moving prisoners to and
from various locations while the prisoners beg, aggravate and abuse them. After a
short time at the academy and a brief period of on the job training, Conover found
himself working, often alone and always unarmed, in galleries housing sixty or more
inmates. He heard of many stories that happen in prison. Stories include inmates
beating inmates and burning their cell house, an inmate who was beaten by
correctional officers after striking an officer in the head with a broom ... Show more
Conover mentioned that keys were power . No matter what, the person who loses
the keys should take the responsibility and blame, no doubt about it. A lost key
could fall into inmates hands. A lost key was a disaster (Conover, 81). When
Conover was still a newjack he happened to lose a set of keys once but luckily for
him, Officer Don Allen came in relieving Conover in his fault. It is very easy to
imagine the stressful circumstances as a correction officer, which Conover implies
really well in this book. Conover started losing his temper around his family,
including his wife and children.
Later Conover comes to ignore many minor inmate rule violations and eventually
violates prison regulations. He wanted to write up an inmate for misbehaviors or
misconducts but was told not to do so since the inmate was already on keeplock.
Conover would be bringing inmates cigarettes and literature during the Christmas
holidays. I thought of the inmates I know whom nobody was likely to remember at
Christmas. There were lots of them. My heart went out to the most pathetic. When no
one was looking I stuffed about a dozen of the cigarette packs into my jacket
(Conover, 295).
Conover s purpose in writing this book not only to share his experience as a
correctional officer but to also help readers get beyond the stereotype of the brutal
guard seen on television and rumors but to see correctional officers as individuals,
offering us a chance to understand
