the items where filling their vehicle. The home was vacant due to the owner s death in 2013, the two

by a civilian noticing the situation was out of the norm. When the officer arrived on the site he too saw
the situation as out of the normal. When the police questioned the suspect he noticed they did not have
a sufficient answers to his questions to fulfill his curiosity. I believe this investigation is what most
people would call good old police work the officer understood the situation as abnormal. When the
officer question the suspect the questions he had did where not sufficiently answered it led to him
looking at the situation more critically than if the two men would ve had answered why they were on

The Gulag Camp System was established in the Soviet Union during the 1930 s. These camps forced
people to do intense labor under harsh conditions. Whether large or small, each camp was known for
its brutality. During these harsh times it was hard to ignore what was going on, however no one could
prevent it from happening. People feared for their lives when the thought of Gulags came up, as
referenced in the book 1984, written by George Orwell.
The term Gulag is a Russian acronym for Glavany Upravlenie Lagerey meaning, camp . These camps
operated for two main reasons: a way to deal with prisoners and unwanted individuals; and also
helped build the infrastructure by forced labor (Hayes). During Joseph Stalin s campaign the camps
grew tremendously. The camps varied in size, however the largest camps were located in the most

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is a novel set in the 1930s, a time of many hardships and
depression. While we think we have moved on from those times, there are still issues in our modern
day society that mirror those in Lee s novel. The killing of Larry King is an instance that is similar to
the death of Tom Robinson in the book. Larry King was a 15 year old student at Oxnard Middle
School in California before he died on Valentine s Day in 2008. He was shot by his 14 year old
classmate, Brandon McInerney two days before and was put on life support. According to their
friends, Brandon and Larry were drastically different. Brandon and a typical eighth grade boy, a jock.
