- Our focus would mainly be on global warming, what causes global warming, wat are the effects of global warming and lastly wat measures we can take to control global warming.
- What is global warming..??
- We all know that our earth is surrounded by gases called greenhouse gases.
- When the sun rays come towards the earth * most just bounce back off into the space from the earths surface * but some of the heat gets trapped inside the earth’s atmosphere.. This is usually good, as it keeps our planet warm Although many “greenhouse gases” occur naturally, human activities have increased their levels and added new ones. like co2, water vapor, methane, nitrous oxide to the atmosphere * from cars , factories, else pollution, cutting down trees etc * this makes the earth warmer and warmer and this gives rise to global warming….*sign indicates that a mouse click is to be given after each animation when the slide show is being played
- Now lets take a look at how global warming is causedGw is caused by many things..It is divided into two groups nc and mcGw is caused naturally as well as manmade
- … Natural causes are causes created by nature. One natural cause is a release of methane gas from arctic tundra and wetlands. METHANE IS ALSO A MANURE AND a greenhouse gas. A greenhouse gas is a gas that traps heat in the earth's atmosphere……and Another natural cause is that the earth goes through a cycle of climate change. This climate change usually lasts about 40,000 years…..
- Secondly the manmade causes…. Man-made causes probably do the most damage..There are many man-made causes.Pollution is one of the biggest man-made problems.Burning fossil fuels is one thing that causes pollution. Fossil fuels are fuels made of organic matter such as coal, or oil. When fossil fuels are burned they give off a green house gas called CO2.
- Another major man-made cause of Global Warming is population.More people means more food, and more methods of transportation, right? That means more methane because there will be more burning of fossil fuels, and more agriculture. More people means more cars, and more cars means more pollution. Also, many people have more than one car.
- Cutting down trees is one of the reason since co2 contributes to global warming, the increase in population makes the problem worse because we breathe out co2. Also, the trees absorbs the co2 through photosynthesis they store carbon dioxide and give out oxygen.. We cut down the trees to built our houses and buildings….And we don't even replace them.. So fewer trees means more n more co2 in the atmosphere which captures more and more warmth..!
- As global warming is associated with the rise in average temperature of the planet this increased temperature passes on the heat to water sources present on earth. This increased water temperature is a reason to worry because they are responsible in melting the glaciers
- Due to global warming sea level is increasing rapidly as glaciers are melting
- global warming problems are a major threat to our planet as they have increased the frequency of natural disaster. Many of the disasters caused in recent years like tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and droughts are some of the best problems of super imposed threats.
- According to scientists, global warming problems are going to be worsened in near future causing coastal flooding, reduction in natural water reservoirs and increased health problems and malnutrition problems.
- Reuse ReduceRecycle
- Use public transport.. Reduce use of cars for short distance
- Walk instead of using a vehicle
- Avoid making use of ac instead use fan or dress lightly… or keep ur windows openDress warmly when its cold instead of turning up the heat.
- Turn off the light when you leave the roomConserve elect.. Don’t leave appliances on standby
- Paper items like cardboard, envelopes, phonebooks, post it notes, magazine
