Hi Everyone! My name is Candra and I am
from Indonesia! I am a student from STP
Bali, Indonesia. While studying in STP, I get
to know from the school about the golden
opportunity to come to Singapore to study
for two months and to go for internship for
six months! It is a collaboration between my
school and Shelton College International
based in Singapore.
Upon arrival in Singapore in December, I
came to Shelton College and was really
happy as it was the first time I am all alone in
a foreign country! I know I have to treasure
the opportunity of being in Singapore.
I started my two month course in Shelton
College from December 2011 till January
2012. Studying in Shelton to widen my
knowledge as I get to know a lot of other
different races, culture and excitement of
being in School! The staff were really helpful
and friendly as they were always there to
assist me whenever I needed help!
In the process of studying, I went for
interviews with different hotels. The school
helped to prepare me for the interviews as
they provided tips and grooming lessons for
me!
Being on internship was very important to
me. It helps me to gain more experience and
knowledge about the hospitality industry. I
build more cultural awareness, team work
and communication with every individual
whom I’ve worked with. The friendship I
have made is something that I feel could not
be possible without the internship program.
Shelton College lecturers are very helpful to
me. My lectures give me a lot of information
about Singapore and hotel background. As I
continue to work for Park Regis Singapore, I
grew to understand and share my knowledge
with guest as well. This made me feel
confident and satisfied.
I hope Shelton College International will
continue the collaboration with STP Bali or
any other university or college in Indonesia
and especially in Bali as it will greatly benefit
the other students, as it does to me!
