My experience at Shelton College
International, the luxury of being myself
away from home…
My name is Dini Hardiani. I am a student
from STP Bali, Indonesia. I was doing
my university studies with STP Bali when
the opportunity arises! The opportunity
to go to Singapore for eight month to
experience different culture! After
discussion with my family, I was allowed
to set sail to Singapore to begin my
journey… a journey away from home!
I arrived in December with my fellow
classmates full of excitement and at the
same time anxiety… as I was not aware
what lies ahead!
However, I know all my worries were
unfounded when I arrived in Shelton
College International. I felt almost
immediately, the feeling of being home!
The staff welcomes us with hospitality
and introduced the school to us!
The course started in December and
ended in January 2012, after completion,
we were all selected for our internship
with different hotels.
My internship in Singapore was
wonderful. I was selected by Conrad
Centennial Singapore. Conrad
Centennial Singapore is a five star hotel
and is strategically located in the heart
of Marina Bay Singapore. One of the
most integrated commercial and
entertainment hub, with direct access to
Suntec City Singapore – convention and
exhibition centre, a world-class
attractions, colonial heritage area and
with museums nearby. The Hotel is also
just 5 minute from the central business
district.
I was working as the server in the hotel
and was able to communicate with
different people from different country.
It was great working there as my fellow
colleagues were always there to assist
and teach me! It was an experience
which I truly treasured!
Of course my ambition is not only to
work at 5 star hotel, but I hope to build a
Restaurant or café when I am back in
Bali, Indonesia. But, as I am still young,
education will be my main priority. As
such, I will be going back to Bali to
continue with my education. The time
spends in Shelton will stays with me as it
is filled with happy, sweet and wonderful
memories!
