Jonas lives in a community where everyone has had their memories erased except for the Receiver of Memory. Jonas is chosen to be the new Receiver and begins receiving memories from the previous Receiver, called the Giver. Jonas shares his new experiences and emotions with his friends Fiona and Asher. He decides the community should have their memories restored so sneaks out to release them. Fiona helps Jonas escape from the community while Asher tries to stop him on orders from the Chief Elder, who controls the community and wants to keep memories erased. In the end, Jonas succeeds in restoring memories to the community.

Synopsis
It is a story about a guy named Jonas who live in a world while differences won’t
allow and all citizens have had their memory erased except for the Receiver of
Memory. Receiver of Memory is the only one who has the memories before.
Jonas is 16 year old teenager and he has two best friend which is Asher and
Fiona. Later, Jonas been assigned by the Chief Elder to become the Receiver of
Memory and progressively receives memories from the pass receiver who called
a Giver. Jonas begin to share his findings and emotional with Fiona but she can’t
even understand what an emotion is. Besides, Jonas also share his feelings and
memories to a baby which his father brought to their house, Gabe. He then
discover a close relationship with Gabe. Jonas decided to release the memories
back to the community so he sneaks out from his house and his friend Asher tries
to stop him but fail. He then go to the Nurturing Center to get Gabe out who to
be released due to his general weakness. He meets Fiona who is a Nurturer and
tells her his plan and wants her to go with him. She refuses and instead helps him
from the escape. Meanwhile, Jonas’ mother and Asher tell the Chief Elder for
Jonas’ missing and Chief Elder try so hard to stop him from releasing the
memories back to the community. At the end, Jonas success from what he want
to do.

The Explorer
- Character: Jonas as the Receiver
- Description: He has been chosen to be the Receiver of Memory and will
receive memories from the past receiver. He is only allows to receive the
memories and past to the next one but sharing with others. He think that
everyone should have their memories of the past and eventually. So he do way
more than just sharing with friends but he also decide that the only way that can
help the community is to go past the border of what they called Elsewhere,

The Caregiver
- Character: The Giver
- Description: He is the one who past the memories to Jonas. He shares not only
memories and also feelings with Jonas. In addition, he keeps helping and
supporting him for every decision that Jonas makes.
The Ruler
- Character: Chief Elder
- Description: She is the one who control the whole community. She wants all the
citizens to have their memories erased so that there is no ‘popular’, no ‘fame’, no
‘losers’ and no ‘winners’ therefore there will be no conflict between the
community. She will do everything to stop Jonas from getting all the citizens’
memories back.
The Lover
- Character: Fiona
- Description: She is a friend and lover of Jonas. She is the one who Jonas decides
to teach his findings and share the idea of emotions. Besides, she helps Jonas
escape from Chief Elder.
- Character: Asher
- Description: He is a friend of Jonas. AfterJonas decided to release the memories
back into the community, Asher is assigned by the Chief Elder to find Jonas and
‘lose’ him but then he let Jonas go.
The Innocent
- Character: Father
- Description: He is Jonas’ father. He works as a nurturer in a nurturing center who
taking care all the new born babies and sometimes will be ‘released’ them to a
place they called Elsewhere. But what they call a ‘released’ is actually making
them death and all of the citizens that have had their memories erased
including Jonas’ father doesn’t know the true meaning. Although he doesn’t
know what’s exactly happening on Jonas but he shows his support to Jonas.

4. The Sage
- Character: Mother
- Description: She is Jonas’ mother. She is also a director of justice. She trust
the truth of which Chief Elder shows them and she will obey everything
that assigned by the Chief Elder. She will always remind and teach Jonas
to use the precisional language for everything.
